Small parking lot - convenient if it is not full. Decent pay parking nearby. Usually appointments run on time, but I had to wait 1 hour at my last visit. (this was terribly inconvenient, as I was 1/2 hour late driving my son to work as a result - not okay).

Packed Up. Lock, Stock and Barrell. I was called two weeks ago to confirm my upcoming noon appointment at the Cataraqui Town Centre. I arrived 15 minutes early. The door was locked but I assumed they had gone for lunch. I waited until ten minutes past my scheduled time and then asked an employee of an adjoining business what was going on when no one returned to the office. I was informed they had left that location in mid-June. WHAT?? Why was I not told about this when they called to confirm my appointment? I chose this location specifically for the convenience so will not be following them to their downtown office. Sadly I will miss the excellent care I received with Dr. Aye.

This is not a 1 star review it is a 0. Worst place ever completely unprofessional will never go there again. They cancelled our appointments without telling us so I got up on my night shifts when I should have been sleeping to drive 45 minutes one way on black friday with 3 kids and was told 'oh Im surprised you remembered' Its called being responsible they should try it!

Took my son to Galen and had an amazing experience. Waiting area was clean and had toys for smaller children. Staff was very helpful and great with my son. Will go back for sure, thanks Galen Eye Centre

I’ve had three appointments with an optometrist at Galen Eye Centre, each one of which had problems. Not with the optometrist but with the Front Desk: 1. When I arrived for the scheduled appointment I was informed for the first time that the location was at the Cataraqui Centre not downtown. They rescheduled for the downtown location. 2. I was provided with an out of date prescription predating my cataract surgery. The optimism fortunately caught the error. 3. When I arrived for a scheduled appointment I was told for the first time that the optometrist had moved to another location on King Street. All three episodes indicate a shocking degree of ineptitude exhibited by staff at the front desk. Patients are strongly advised to double check all information provided there or risk potentially dangerous consequences.

When I went in for my 1 year follow up eye appointment, I was informed that my Optometrist no longer works there. OK, I figured they would have assigned another Optometrist for my follow up appointment. That is not the case! They cancelled my appointment all together. They suggested that a phone call or email had been sent to me advising me that this appointment was cancelled. I asked which one it was, an email or a phone call, they could not verify that this was even done. I know it wasn’t done because I would have booked another date. Too easy. While discussing this mix up on their end, at no time was there any kind of an apology given, no consideration in helping accommodate me for this inconvenience. With the inefficiencies of managing scheduled appointments and addressing customers concerns, I do not have the confidence in them to return back.

Worst customer service ever, travelled from Belleville to Kingston to find there was no parking in either options. So my appointment was cancelled. If your optometrist refers you here ask for another place. Not worth the time and energy to get here only to be treated poorly by rude front desk staff

Unprofessional, disorganized, disinterested. A simple attempt to get new contacts led to a nearly six-month ordeal as orders were lost or forgotten, tests were done incorrectly (by untrained staff), and various matters fell between the cracks of administrative indifference. To cap it all off, I was told that the contacts I purchased were biweekly when in fact they are monthly - meaning I had been tossing expensive contacts at twice the necessary rate, until I learned of my mistake from a different, competent eye clinic. As others have mentioned, it's a problem of size/scale. Find a small office with a small number of practitioners.

I am not impressed that Galen would not fax my prescription to an eye glasses retailer because it was 'expired' (expired on Feb 8 2020. Today is Feb 18 2020) Sure, tell me eye exam results are valid for two years. Regardless, this is MY prescription that I paid for, no?! Timeframe is irrelevant if I deem that I do not need to pay $100 for another exam that will show me the same results. I won't return here. Thanks for nothing!

Got my eyes checked last year. Contacted them four weeks ago for a copy of my perscription and was told there were no optometrists in the office for the next three days (what?). Contacted them a week later and was told again no one was in the office but that they will send it to me tomorrow. Played this game for a few more weeks (always saying it will be done tomorrow/end of today) and still have not received a copy of my perscription. Don't expect these guys to really care about you, because their clients are clearly not their priority.

I went to Galen and got some tests done on my eyes for narrow angle glaucoma. The staff from receptionists to the technicians were warm friendly and very efficient. I've never been to a better operated medical facility in my life. I'm returning in August for some minor laser surgery and after speaking with the doctor on my last visit I go there with the utmost confidence that my visit will be the same and that the surgery will be performed both professionally and efficiently with the least amount of discomfort possible. I recommend the Galen Eye Center to anyone that has any vision irregularities as it's the best!

Horrible customer service. This facility is too busy booking as many appointments as they can, they don't care if you are there or not. Go someplace else.

This is an opthalmology clinic, not just an optometrist's office. In comparison to the waiting time and "service" at HDH, this place is a breath of fresh air. Nice waiting area, short waiting time, and the nicest reception staff. Dr. Jinapriya is a zen master: thorough, calm, knowledgeable and never rushed. I've been seeing ophthalmology for a decade in different cities (NYC, Winnipeg) and this is the best I've experienced.

*The most incompetent administrative staff I have ever seen*. They literally mess up everything that can be messed up. I am never going to this place again. Also note that the only reason their reviews here are not lower then they should be is because C Taylor ranked 5-star about three times (probably a conflict of interest) and we cannot rank zero or minus five.
