It took me a long time to come to the decision to have Lasik, but having Dr. Wilmarth perform this procedure was one of the best decisions I've made! Having worn glasses and contacts most of my life, it's hard to describe the freedom of just being able to see with out any aids, it's wonderful! The procedure was fast and painless, and by the following morning my vision was 20/15, amazing! I would highly recommend Dr. Wilmarth and his staff to anyone considering Lasik, you won't regret it.

Dr. Wilmarth really knows his stuff; he's been doing operations for years and has some great insight into which operation to undergo in case you have any questions. His staff is also very friendly and helpful; they even gave me a complimentary "starter kit" of pre-surgery materials, like eyedrops and special sunglasses. My own surgery (LASIK) was quick and produced perfect results, and I have Dr. Wilmarth and his amazing staff to thank for it!

Some of the best money I have ever spent. I was skeptical going into the Lasik procedure as my vision, to me, wasn't "that bad". I could see 20/20 but due to hyperopia I would get eye fatigue and loss of focus very quickly when reading text or using the computer without my glasses. Not only do I no longer need glasses for reading, but my overall visual acuity is now 20/15 as of my most recent post-op appointment this morning. More than I could have hoped for!

Dr. Wilmarth and staff are very friendly and professional. I had to reschedule my surgery several times due to work travel and they always accommodated without hesitation. Everyone made me feel comfortable and confident about the procedure. I just wish I had done it sooner! Surgery was fast simple and painless. I went home and slept for a few hours following the procedure and could see almost perfect the same night. I just had my 3 month post op, and I'm 20/15! I'm so very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Dr. Wilmarth and staff!

Never had a chance to visit this place because they do not return phone calls. They take all your info, name, phone number, email address, but never call you. Why even have an after hours help if you’re not going to utilize it. Very disappointed in your customer service.

I was referred here by a friend who was very pleased with his results, and now I am too! Setting up an appointment was very straightforward and the communication about the process and what to expect was very thorough and clear. I had a slight astigmatism with 20/30 vision, so I wasn't very handicapped by my blurriness; I just wanted things to be perfect. Dr Wilmarth reassured me that I was a wonderful candidate (I resisted feeling special). Within a few days of the surgery my vision felt almost completely clear and my eyesight is now at 20/15 (better than typical)! I have absolutely no side effects except for slightly dry eyes in the first 30 days. I feel like I have superhero vision when it comes to seeing crisp trees in the distance on hilltops. They provide 0% financing through a Wells Fargo credit card. I'm not a fan of the WF website and general business, but it was very convenient for me. This is not the cheapest LASIK you'll find, but it appears to be the highest quality and I love knowing that I got the best value for my permanent eyes that I have to live with forever. Dr Wilmarth is very proud of his life's work and enthusiastic about what he does for people. It occasionally sounds arrogant or perhaps dismissive if you have fears about the process, but just know that he's confident because he's been doing this for thousands of people his whole career. You'll be happy with his results.

Dr. Wilmarth and his staff are second to none. I have long wanted to get LASIK surgery, but seeing as one only gets a single pair of eyes,I've been nervous to go forward. I finally decided that 2020 was the perfect year to go for 20/20 vision :). Dr. Wilmarth did that and more. I am 2 months post-op and have 20/15 vision after years of being -4.25 in both eyes. The surgery itself took less than 10 minutes and I was feeling pretty good after a 3 hour nap the same day. He and his team are informative, friendly, and skilled at what they do. I highly recommend his services to anyone!

The doctor was excellent but the policies of the office are ridiculous. I showed up for one appointment and they turned me away saying I came at wrong time. Made new appointment that I had to cancel because my father went into hospice. Just called to reschedule and was informed could not make appointment because of this and she had to get permission from office manager. No thank you! I should not have to get "permission" for this pathetic reason, never heard of this. There are plenty of other eye offices out there!

Excellent service and surgical team. Dr Wilmarth is a very skilled MD. I went from wearing a glasses prescription of -5.00 in both eyes to 10/15 visual acuity which is better than 20/20! Being legally blind one day to no longer having to rely on glasses or contacts is a dream come true. I was definitely nervous about lasik correction but the staff made me feel comfortable every step of the way. The surgical technicians, staff, office and surgery center are all pristine! I just had my Lasik procedure preformed at Steve Wilmarth's office and I am thrilled with the results! My vision is now remarkable, I was actually able to see and go about tasks mere hours after the procedure. In addition, Colette and the rest of the staff at Dr. Wilmarth's office are superb and made me feel very comfortable and the Lasik was done in less then 10 minutes. Dr. Wilmarth kept me engaged the entire procedure and I very much appreciated the dialogue and quirky humor to make the time pass even quicker. I would recommend Dr Wilmarth to anyone considering Lasik corrective surgery. My only regret is that I didn't have it done sooner!

The BEST money I have ever spent. Doctor Wilmarth and all of his staff are excellent at answering any and all questions and sorting out any confusions you may have. Before my surgery my vision was 20/70 in one eye and 20/60 in the other. Now I'm seeing 20/15, which means I see as clearly at 20 feet as someone with "normal" vision sees at 15 feet. I highly recommend a visit to Doctor Wilmarth if you are tired of glasses and/or contacts.

Colors are bright, clarity in distance vision, ability to read books without using readers, improvement in all areas of vision in just a few weeks since my surgeries. His office staff is warm & receptive, never a wait, and assistants demonstrate full understanding of their important roles in measuring eye acuity & explaining what they are doing. Dr Wilmarth made a mistake on my prescription for my bifocal eye glasses, he forgot to add the reading strength for my bifocals, so when I went to pick up my new eye glasses they were wrong. I called his office and left a message, (and am still waiting for a call back which will never come as they don't answer their messages). Since my message went unanswered, I went into his office with the new wrong eyeglasses and the prescription he had given me. At first the tech said that my old glasses which I was wearing were not bifocals - hello - I have been wearing bifocals for 15 years, and yes they are! Then she said yeah looks like he forgot to add the correct reading dimensions; not once did I get an apology, or a sorry for the inconvenience of you having to drive all the way from Marysville to Roseville because of our mistake. They had an attitude that I was upset about this whole situation. When they were asked what are you going to do about my glasses that I paid almost $300 for and are now basically paper weights, the answer was - that depends on the policy of the place where you bought the glasses. They made a mistake, we are all human and mistakes happen, but for goodness sake take ownership of it. You can tell a lot about an organization by the way they rectify their mistakes, and this place dropped the ball big time. Had they said at the beginning, we're sorry, we did make a mistake, apologies for the inconvenience, that would have gone a long way towards an amicable ending. I will not go back here, time to move on and find a doctor's office with some integrity.

I had Visian ICL for both eyes about a month ago. I was very nearsighted (about -10) and was wearing hard contact lenses. Everyone kept telling me how happy I would be, starting with Dr. Wilmarth. I was a little nervous going into it, and even skeptical. I now have absolutely no regrets, I can see better than 20/20 now according to the eye charts. My vision really is high definition now, I find myself staring at objects now as I drive down the road because I'm admiring the detail I never noticed before. Not only did he make me feel extremely comfortable, he gave me AMAZING results. I had Visian ICL surgery more than 7 years ago by Dr. Wilmarth. I had it done when it was just approved by FDA. I trusted Dr. Wilmarth and his expertise on this surgery. The procedure was pretty painless and my vision was 20/15 right away. All these years later it remains 20/15. I have never suffered from dry eye, either. This is life changing for me. I had built up scar tissue from wearing regular contacts, and my cornea were too thin for Lasiks. Now I can see the alarm clock, watch tv, fall asleep without glasses, and not deal with regular contact lenses. The set up, procedure, and follow up care by Dr. Wilmarth and his Vision Coordinator, Pat, was comforting and easy. I recommend this procedure to anyone who is looking for better eye sight.

I have been wanting to get Lasik for a very long time, and 2021 was the year to do it. Dr.Wilmarth and his staff are top notch, very friendly and went over step with me to make sure I felt confident with my decision. Best decision I ever made, I was extremely lucky and got the 1% chance of getting 20/10. This was much greater then I ever expected, the surgery was quick and painless took about 10 mins each eye. If anyone ever asks me about Lasik I will only recommend Dr.Wilmarth.

What can I say? BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT. I'm in my mid-twenties and it just seemed like my eyes were getting worse every year. On top of that I suffer from sinus allergies so wearing glasses didn't help as they always irritated those pressure points, my vision was good with them any ways, extra blind spots, etc. I'm sure you know what I mean. I went to Dr. Wilmarth's office nervous and hesitant but let me tell you this office has super friendly staff, Pat was wonderful in explaining everything and my shy toddler adores her, Dr. Wilmarth's confidence in my eye correction really boosted my hopes and I didn't feel too nervous. It was absolutely painless, really quick (the prep and end work takes longer than the laser!). and I can see better than having those bulky lenses (remember, my eyes were BAD). My procedure was on a Friday which gave me plenty of time to get used to new vision and not grabbing for my glasses. Monday I returned to work and was honestly crying at how amazing it felt to see so clearly without those darn glasses! I completely and wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Wilmarth Eye & Laser.

I have been severely near-sighted for most of my life (I'm now 45) and just had LASIK done at Dr. Wilmarth's office in November 2019. The surgery took about 10 minutes total for both eyes, and I could see without corrective lenses SECONDS after the surgery was complete. I now see 20/15 and still wake up in awe every day. So happy!

I had my lasik done with Dr WIlmarth in April of 2002. The staff and the lasik expereince itself were fantastic. Each step was explained to me in detail . I wore glasses since I was 11 years old- the freedom of no contact lenses or eyewear was unbelievable. When I sat up after the procedure I could read the calendar on the wall at the center. After many year of contact lens use; finally made the move and had lasik correction both eyes for distance. All I can say is WOW. I can see the alarm clock and I don't look around for my glasses in the morning anymore. It truly is a slice of freedom. After lots of research, I selected Dr. Wilmarth for his formal education and overall experience in this field. He is top notch an so is his staff. Lots of doctors out there doing lasik and yes you can bargain shop. But in my mind, it's a matter of who you are comfortable and confident with. Only regret; not doing lasik 10 years ago.

I recently went through cataract surgery for both eyes. The process started in Dr Wilmarth's office with a thorough exam to confirm that surgery was required. Although the surgery itself takes a short time, the preparatory work and followup appointments can be very tedious. Since only one eye is done at a time, there are many timelines that had to be met and duplicated once completed. Dr Wilmarth and staff, Pat, Elaine and Marcie do a wonderful job in providing detailed instructions for pre and post surgical procedures. They provided excellent reminders and followup calls with clear explanations of what to expect. Besides being an excellent surgeon, Dr Wilmarth is very personable in treating you as a person and truly a nice guy. My surgery went very well and I can now see clearly both near and far from both eyes. I would highly recommend Dr Wilmarth. I should also mention the Sutter Surgery Center used in Auburn where all the nurses were extremely competent, friendly and professional.
