I was referred to this clinic by my GP. I told by them that my appointment would take 1½ - 2 hrs! So I went and within 10 min. a technician (very gentle & explained each procedure before doing it) started the exam with the machine, visual tests and put in the 2 eye drops. Then I had to go outside to wait for Dr. Zhou. She came and saw me within 10 minutes but didn't give me an eyeglass prescription because she said that I had to go to an Optometrist for that (which was disappointing). But I was out of there in 45 minutes - which was great!

They do NOT answer their phones, when you email in they do Not respond. Worst customer service ever .... I guess they don't think concerns with vision is important... it's only your eyes after all!!! NOT IMPRESSED

Worst location ever! I’ve taken my dad to the king street location, in and out less than 30 mins for his post op apportionment. But nearly 3 hours for my mom’s appointment... ridiculous. Never again will I come to this location, I’ll most definitely make sure to go other locations.

Awesome experience. Check-in is well organized with many admin people ready to take your info and set you in the right direction. From there it was a short wait to see the ophthalmologist. Once seated the doctor quickly and efficiently did the examination and explained next steps. My doctor was efficient, personable, and confident. He was very skilled and treated me on the spot. So glad I was referred here for follow-up treatment. I was in and out in an hour. Two thumbs up!!

Dr. Chang is great with kids but the wait time isnt worth it. I have gone here 4 times with both my children and I had to wait over 2 hours everytime. I have a feeling they are double booking their patients. I will be looking for another place that honours their appointment times.

Dr.Teichman is a brilliant surgeon and I am extremely grateful to be under his care. I had a careless accident in my left eye in 2019. I ruptured my eyeball, they call it a blowout. Being a previous corneal recipient my cornea after 40 years came apart and I lost my internal lens and my was leaking. Dr. Teichman rebuilt my eye after a couple of surgeries. He definitely knows what he is doing. He is very thorough, precise and focussed. His surgery booking assistant Hema is also very thorough and caring and does her best to accommodate you on surgery booking time. I am extremely grateful and thankful to be under the care of Dr. Teichman and I definitely recommend him if you need any complex interocular or corneal surgeries. Best Viv de lima

Attended with my wife for her appointment. First appointment was for the eye exam. That took about 20 mins after a relatively short wait. We then had to attend the next day to speak with the doctor/optometrist about the results. We waited 30 mins before we saw the first guy, then 60 mins before the next guy, and then a further 50 mins before the final senior guy. Basically, spent most of the time waiting.

Totally unprofessional administrative staff as well as doctors. Avoid this place. They are only and only interested in billing you or OHIP for unnecessary medical procedures, maximizing profit, they only care about their own pockets. No body here cares about patients. Despite appointments they made me come in 3 times and wait for 3 to 6 hrs and if you are covered by OHIP they make you pay for other tests. There is no one on their medical staff that puts the patient first. Selfish people and unorganized place.

I had been told that the Doctor will meet me virtually from 9:30-10:10am and discuss the case of my eye issue..I have been waiting since eternity for them to call. Also when you call the clinic their call centre executives never answer and always on hold Also initially I was placed with Dr.M.Mills for a scheduled appointment but then they changed it to Dr.Con. & as delayed as it can get ,I have been waiting for the consultation call. When the clinic said that you have to invest $100 for an eye test for better understanding of the case study ,I didn’t hesitate even once Thank you Prism

The service is terrible my mother's eye has not got better and the doctor says it has recovered which is not true because if it did recover my mother's eye vision would of improved. Dr. Roy is lovely. She shares the results of tests in language we understand. I can't give 5 stars because of the company. As always, it was a 2 hr wait for a 10 min appointment. I don't know what is wrong with this company that they can't organize things better. I have been going to Prism for more than 10 years (I am told they are the only eye specialists in the area) and it has ALWAYS been this way. I suspect the last 2 years have brought other complications, but this is NOT NEW. I overheard two patients talking about being double-booked while we waited.

I have had great experience with Dr. Mills and Prism team since my first interaction with Prism. Dr. Mills explained the ailment with clarity on my Diabetes related eye issues. It is called Diabetic Macular Edema. After monitoring for several months, he began treatment with Eylea eye injection. It will be repeated 3 times with 4-5 weeks interval initially. Eye injection may be scary for some but he made it so comfortable for me. His clinical assistant is also outstanding, polite, and prompt. My experience with front office and testing team has also been very satisfactory.

(The time to connect with anyone via telephone in the call centre is brutal, but there is always the online option)

My father in law (85 years old) attends this place because it was recommended by his physician. Over the last 6 months he was rescheduled twice to an earlier day. In both cases we arrived to find out that his appointment location changed from Brampton to Oakville (likely due to the doctor working at different locations on different days). We had to then drive him immediately to Oakville. These mistakes indicate sloppy and careless admin work and I called the receptionist at Brampton to complain. I was on hold for 20 minutes and our call kept cutting in and out. It was so bad that I couldn't understand what she was saying and I had to repeat my phone number multiple times. I asked her if I was on speaker and she told me it was her headphones. In addition to her apologies, she told me that her supervisor would be calling me shortly. At this current time, I have been waiting patiently for almost 5 hours without contact. I have been courteous by calling and waiting for a reply. I hope this review will either help you to get your act together or prevent other people from having to deal with you.

Very rude and ill mannered doctors, especially the indian doctor. Firstly they dont even hear what you have to say and keep cutting you off, make you wait hours (We’ve waited 2+ hours) to see a doctor, and sometimes the doctor wont even see you and an assistant will, no process is explained, short, shrude answers and no sense of responsibility or care. Very unprofessional and very disruptive sort of behaviour. I do not like bringing my mother here at all. I dont knkw who let people like this become doctors. Theres no social skills or even education skills. Patients I talked to in the waiting room also had similar experiences, who were 70-80+ years old in age and are suffering from this centre and its ill mannered staff. Despicable.

AWFUL place! Stay away. ANYTIME you call their greeting message states a 1 hour wait time to answer your ph call. Their website contact us form contains a very long form with a mandatory field for your health card number. And the site is not SSL secure, meaning you're personal information can be easily stolen. My family doctor sent them a referral for me over three weeks ago. They never contacted me despite having both my email and ph# contact info. And don't be fooled, there are multiple 5 star rating posted here; some are back-to-back, that's your clue they're bogus, posted by themselves. I checked their employee rating at Glassdoor, a very low 2.7. AWFUL! They are about the health of your eyes and it's obvious they couldn't care less about you. AWFUL PLACE STAY AWAY!

My one, and only, "complaint" is waiting 2 hours to see a Doctor WITHOUT any updates from any staff member explaining that, and why, the Doctor was running late. As a former hospital based Paramedic I well understand that this can happen at times, but the lack of communication made it seem as though no one cared about the patient, in this case me. As I relayed to Dr. Mills, my time is just as valuable as his, albeit perhaps not in the same way. Frankly, in my case, as a disabled person, that amount of time sitting in the waiting area chairs is very painful and very unnecessary, which was compounded by the lack of communication. The registration staff has been fantastic, clear instructions, friendly, and answers any questions put to them. Still and all, my experience so far has been much more positive than the "other eye place."

The place is big and very busy ; it is like an assembly line with a system in place . You check in and they tell you which area you need to go and wait. Then you get called by unknown staff directing you to the check room; no hi or how you are doing- they do whatever like putting drops in or ask you questions while looking at the monitor. The Dr comes in and he does what he suppose to do with very little talk or not but I wished if he reviewed my previous test results and explained my condition. Generally, I find it not bad experience but very dry and unfriendly. I think my doctor is very good and I trust him if that all it matters. I would like to see the staff look happy with a smile on their faces.

Just awful. They don not respect your time. They have a lobby full of patients during COVID-19 pandemic. They are overbooked. They make you sit in a lobby with 10 other patients. Not enough gap between patients. Expect to wait 1 to 2 hours before you are seen by the doctor. It says on their appointment card to expect the “appointment” to take 1-2 hours but the appointment actually only takes 15-20 mins. It is the wait time that is so long. Dr. Roy is knowledgeable but does not acknowledge that their office needs some organizing and will shut you uP. Good luck

Facility is good clean and good location. Staff is friendly. Nothing to do with staff but I gave only 4 stars because they are expensive and after surgery some complications came they changed more for testings which I think should be covered under same lens installation price. Because the did all the tests before surgery if something goes wrong should be covered specifically for seniors.

All these positive reviewers should be in today, Feb 25, 2019. All 9am appointments and walk-ins are crowded in all wait rooms. Now 10.39 am and still waiting to see the eye doctor on an emergency and urgent Trillium hospital referral. Staff seem pleasant, but this clinic has an air of business profit first, patient comfort last. 2.15 hours now, seating here with pain in the damaged eye. No guest internet connection and no TV on to while the time. May be customer- friendly, but not patient friendly. 12.10pm and TV is turned on, but watching it hurts the patient's eye. Waiting room still full, but few if any seem to be suffering pain, so I can't understand the extreme delay in seeing a patient with obvious pain.

A bit of a wait at the front desk for check in and followup appointment. About an hour between imaging (which was on time and very efficient) and the pre-op. Dr. Mills and his assistant were great. In spite of the high number of patients going through, I did not feel I was rushed through when it was my turn. Very professional. Good explanations on what was wrong and on the treatment. Considering that I was only referred on Tuesday afternoon and had the procedure Wednesday afternoon I would say that the service was excellent! Before I arrived home they had already called with the followup appointment time. Followup visit: Had my followup visit yesterday. On time. Done in 35 minutes, Once again Dr. Mills and his assistant were great! Efficient and professional. Not as busy this time. 5 Stars in my book! Had another followup visit with Dr. Mills today. Once again only good things to say. The email system to setup the appointment was fast and easy. They called the next day with 2 appointments for the tests and then the Dr. visit. Very satisfied with Dr. Mills and the Prism staff!

Very unprofessional. Dr. Verma who I was visited here couple of times was very impersonal and rushed. I was shouted just not opening the eye. He was also forceful to be done the eye scan which they charge $150. They have two locations in Brampton and Mississauga. One phone number. Sometimes more than an hour wait on the phone. I needed to reschedule and appointment and on the phone I tried so many times and different days. No luck, finally when someone pick the phone and I requested for reschedule the appointment, I was told by surgical coordinator named Indra that I have to pay $50 because it is less than 48 hours. It’s a cheating. First, not pick the phone and later say give $ 50. Ridiculous. She was also very rude on the phone. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Aug 18- Customer service and kindness is POOR for all those front desk people. Your office REALLY need s to attend to this . The girl - LILA?- who was supposed to type me a letter was so bad it was shocking! She was careless and inefficient at best! The girl taking people temp was also so untrained. I informed her that a gentleman in the waiting room was coughing consistently- but she did NOTHING about it. He should not have been allowed to be there. There were MANY staff walking around and standing around while this man coughed but NO ONE did anything about it even though I brought their attention to it. He should have been sent home then and there. Also they should have to identify themselves while at the desk, attending to you or when callin you at home, or leaving VM.. They messed up my appts. 3 times, but since the person did not leave their names when they confirmed appt. I could not report it. They need to be made responsible for their actions- WHY IS THERE NO SUPERVISOR THERE?

They have delayed my 70yr old mothers appointment for over 9 months, this is completely unacceptable. They have constantly taken advantage of us and have given me wrong information when I told them I was going to leave a bad review. The receptionist was very rude to me on the phone, i just want my mother to get the care she needs. They have rescheduled the appointment 5 times, delaying my mother's appointment more than 9 months. If there is a problem it may have gotten much worse by now.

I had two appointments at this facility in Feb 2021 and the clinical services being provided seem very professional but their overall process seems fairly inefficient. About a week prior to my first visit, I was asked to complete a lengthy medical form online but upon my arrival I was asked to complete a similar form on paper, which felt like a complete waste of time. During a follow-up visit a week later, I was promptly greeted by one of the clinicians and taken to an exam room where I sat and waited for 45 minutes before the doctor arrived. He spent about 10 minutes explaining my test results and my appointment ended.

The Front Desk team we’re kind, informative and accommodating while ensuring all the COVID-19 protocols were followed. We waited for maybe 5 minutes before being called and the technician was efficient and friendly and lovely to speak with. The place is very large and busy but seems to be efficiently run. One issue I had was hearing the receptionist because of the plexiglass window at the sign-in desk. While I understand that Credit Valley generally pushes everyone to here after a hospital visit, the wait times are ridiculous! My initial “appointment” was for 9-11... they told me they would book an appointment for 2pm so I didn’t have to wait in the centre until someone was available. I was seen at 4:30. Thank Goodness I hadn’t waited that whole time, especially as I had my 5 month old son with me (no childcare) and he fussed for the 2.5 hours they were late for my appointment. Avoid at all costs. They overbook their staff and you sit there with no idea of what the issue is until the ophthalmologist tells you that he’s the only one working.

I can't say enough wonderful things about my personal experience at Prism, specifically with Dr. Ike Ahmed and his team. I am a young patient who had complex vision needs and a lot of fear going in to the whole process. Dr Ahmed made me feel much more at ease the moment I met him. He truly cares for his patients and the outcome of their surgeries. A quick google search of his name will show you just how amazing his qualifications are! I've seen that many people have rated their experience based on the atmosphere and the admin staff. Is it a tight squeeze sometimes when you're waiting to be seen? Yes. Are the staff somewhat flustered and a little less chipper than most would like? Yes, sometimes. But would I deal with those minimal issues in order to be treated by a world renowned surgeon who had the capabilities of changing my life? Absolutely! In fact, I'd do it a thousand times over.

My 82 year old mother was referred to Dr Ahmed at the Prism Eye Institute because of historic issues with her left eye making the required cataract surgery more than what our local Ophthalmologist could deal with (iris prosthetic required). While the wait for all testing and consultation was time consuming (pack a lunch people!) all of the staff we encountered were very pleasant and knowledgeable. Dr Ahmed was patient and explained everything to our satisfaction. He was very forthcoming about the potential outcome. I am very confident in his surgical ability to improve my mothers sight.

This is a very large facility with a large amount of staff dealing with occular/vision issues. The staff are attentive and kind. The equipment is likely the best in the world. We went through 5 sets of tests waiting after each, so I will say they could be A LOT better organized.

What a shame that the doctors are so good but the customer service is abhorrent. I have been trying to get an appointment with my Doctor for over a week now. Every time I am put on hold for 30+ minutes. Today I had the patience to hold on for an hour and the call was disconnected. I have emailed Prism 3 times and only received one call back where I was told I am removed from the patient list due to an error on their front. I still did the needful and obtained another referral as my priority is getting an appointment with my doctor but I am still unable to do so. It cannot be THIS DIFFICULT to receive a call back to set up an appointment.

Though it took a bit of time to book my first specialist appointment through my family doctor, once I came in person everything was handled quite quickly. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I waited less than five minutes to be taken into the examination room after checking in. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. Beautiful building in Oakville where I am from, and everything looks great inside. I went for my first consultation after waiting for lockdown to open up. Staff were very pleasant. That would be 5 stars. The 3 stars is because NO ONE told me that I would have to get the actual cataract surgery done at Kensington eye institute in downtown Toronto. 3-6 month wait. Longer wait for credit valley or credit view, not sure which one it was. I would have searched other options had I known it was in Toronto. So it's a no from me. I find it odd that no other review mentions that they send you downtown for the procedure. Is it just me?

One of the most tiring and patience-checking experience. You go there only if you have patience to wait there for nonspecific period of time. If your appointment time for example is 11 be prepared that you wont be attended till 12:30 or so. No offense. Dr. Choudhary shows one of the most unprofessional behavior. He wont tell you anything at all on his own until unless you ask. I heard that half of sickness is cured just by doctor's behavior towards you but this guy dont even make eye contact with you leave apart being sympathetic or showing any kind of emotion whatsoever. A money making machine and very successful in doing so!!! I was booked for an angiogram at Toronto and i was there for 5 hours waiting. Then i was booked for laser surgery and it was good 1 month after my angiogram. I took a day off for that day and it was at 8 am, went all the way to Brampton driving in crazy office hours leaving my kid with neighbor to drop him to school and guess what, i got call when i was outside their clinic to let me know the surgery was booked wrongly and we don't have machines at Brampton location and the person who booked me didn't know this. ARE YOU SERIOUS?? Got rebooked for after another 35 days and again that gruelling process of waiting. Sitting there for 2.5 hours out of which doctor was with me for mere 5 minutes at max and after done we were told you can leave now but somehow luckily i asked do i need to come again and wow...only after asking he said yes you need to book a follow-up appointment. Horrendous experience!!

I had laser surgery to correct PCO on both of my eyes on Wednesday Jan 30, 2021 morning. The experience went well and the procedure was short. Dr Varma was very good and he said I could pickup my prescription as he had sent it to my pharmacy. Problem, the pharmacy did not receive it. After many attempts to contact Prism, they finally called me Thursday afternoon. They said there was no record of any prescription from Dr Varma on record. It is now Friday, 22nd, after several other attempts to contact Prism I still have not resolved the prescription dilema. It is well nigh impossible to contact them. I tried their client form, it took 24 hours for a call back. Really poor patient relations which must be addressed ASAP before a more serious problem arises. Something is really lacking in their system. Be wary. Further, 4 hours later, I spent over 2 hours on hold on the phone before I was able to speak with someone, who informed me that they had contacted Dr Varma about this. No other info. Do I really need this prescription? based on the responses from Prism's personnel it would appear not.

Very Unprofessional & Rude. When you call to review your appointment they offer to cancel right away rather then rebooking. The message left thru an automated system is misleading suggesting that "there may be fee for your exams etc". They discourage people to visit them. Call Center staff is causing more harm then help to patients. Long wait on the phone to reach call center. Call Center staff is suggesting a wait time at there clinic about 3 I hrs. Worst eye testing place but they call themselves "Eye Institute". I have sent my referral thru my family physician 4 times but they could not locate the same. I sent one myself as well. After 6 months they are calling to tell that they have received referral.

I do not want to shame the doctor publicly, but I had a very poor experience. My doctor was always extremely rushed and patronizing with me. He talked down to me and belittled me for asking questions. He would use a condescending tone with me and was sarcastic to discourage me from asking more questions. He also never resolved my issue and I went somewhere else that treated me better. In Covid times, it is sad that there is so little choice for health care options. The receptionists are professional and so are the optometrists. My only issue is with the ophthalmologists. If you can avoid this place, I would.

So far all positive. My appointments have all been on time with no excessive wait times. Prism staff and doctors are friendly and professional. The facility is modern, clean and complete with the latest technologies. My only complaint is phoning in for whatever reason. There is no excuse to make patients endure long periods on hold for the next available receptionist. You should be able to leave a call back number then hang up.

I was very disappointed to learn that this location does not offer WIFI for patients/caregivers. The place is an eye Institute! It needs a makeover really bad you walk in and the surroundings are dated the carpet is embarrassing there is so many stains on it, it looks like part of the carpet ! The bathroom garbage lids have a crust build up around them, the light is so dim you cannot see yourself in the mirror. I know it's a busy place I get it but you have a lot of elderly people who cannot move as fast be patient and wait for them. The amount of people going thru the place I am sure they are making a good amount of cash so use some to update and clean this place because it really looks like a dump ! The walls are dented and scratched ! They should look into the eye Institute in 1880 Sismet Drive and see what it really is to be an eye Institute ! They said to come back within a year I hope I never have to go back.

For an establishment of this caliber, you would hope for much better front line and before covid, it was literally a 3 hr wait, time and time again. Paper work often mixed up. The Worst Clinic Ever - Long Waits - Which i do not mind because i can wait longer for my eyes but the problem was neither the wait nor the parking but the Doc herself. If you find yourself going to this eye care centre. Stay away from Dr. Elham something - She goes by her last name but Elham is her first name. Very Rude Doc. Total waste of time. Does not give any answers to your questions Does not listen to the problem you are having .. A very bad experience. I am never going to this place ever again just because of the worst attitude of this Doctor. Apparently, they were behind and all the appointments were getting delayed, this had some kind of stress on the doctor to see the patients in a rush and get it done and over with. When asked questions after she had done a check up on the eyes, she had no answers - She said " ask this from your surgeon " The next questions - She said " ask this from an optometrist " If all the answers are with either surgeons or optometrists , why the hell did i waste my time in your clinic ? STAY AWAY people. And if by any chance you do end up going there - stay away from Dr Elham.

I was refered here by my family doctor more than 10 years ago. It was a nice small place with its usuaal bad customers service but good doctors. I paid for several diagonatic procedures and now it is over a year and I can't get an appointment to discuss the results of my tests. The appointment system is redicolous. Over all the Institute is very clean and professional, however I was really disappointed with my visit with Dr. Teichman. The moment he came into the appointment, he introduced himself and his student Doctor to me, then went right to the computer and was showing her how to input information the entire visit was all about showing/teaching her how to input codes and asked for her opinion about my eyes. I was a product for her to learn. He checked my eyes and and spoke very quickly and offered a solution of putting a hot compress over my dry eyes every night. He had the student check my eyes. He never once asked about my eye history or why I was there. He gave me a print out to read and asked me to pick it up on my way out. The appointment lasted about 10 - 12 minutes and felt very rushed. I waited over 6 months for this appointment and was really disappointed.

First off the receptionist, Renee, I found I want to be very rude in a condescending way, was not helpful at all and on top of that her monotone voice was so jarring, that I couldn't bare to talk to her too long. At my daughter's first appointment the doctor could not do a proper exam because he didn't have her file. He said once the office receives the file make an appointment right away and he will see her again. What is this when I called to to make another appointment I was told that she can only have an annual checkup. This this is not what the doctor had discussed with me. I think that proper notes should be made as it looks like they're very disorganized. And proper screening when hiring their employees. I believe customer service should be a requirement

I have nothing to say other than my great experiences at Prism. I have been taken care by two great ophthalmologists: Dr. Klein and Dr. Varma. I have had two surgeries performed with Dr. Varma, and the whole experience has been very positive. From all the pre-operative consultations, tests and preparations, to a great post-op recovery, I have always felt being in good hands. Both surgeries were really a breeze for me, despite the complex nature of my condition. I am thankful for my experiences so far (patient there for about than 3 years). Recently had my cataracts removed, and I see much better than before. As usual, surgery was made simple and easy thanks to Dr. Varma.

Never felt more uncomfortable or uncertain about a procedure before- was told one thing and then day of surgery, something else was said. Surgical booking staff had to be called, multiple times- took a year to get me in to have a 45mins procedure, when you call you are put on hold or provided with another extension to dial or the famous snarky attitude! After the procedure a year later, I have had alot of discomfort and issues,.only to told to see my referring Opthalmologist and had my file closed. What a joke- this is what our health care service has come too! All about the number of patients=money - empathy,. compassion. I would never go back to PRISM EYE INSTITUTE!

It’s over a month and half and no one has contacted me to set up CNIB! When you lose your sight it’s a agency to help the blind. I emailed the office prism several times telling them the agency is not calling me back. NO RESPONSE! Do I have to wait until my mom is tottally blind to get a reaction. The office is so impersonal. Then the horrible service just continued. They were 1 hour late from our appt time and to them it was the patients who were being unreasonable to expect the clinic to be more timely. It’s just this type of misplaced arrogance, rudeness and lack of respect that negatively affects quality care. If this place is private, they deserve to lose their patients to another place more focused on the quality of care they provide. Ok everyone, so that you know, they now are sending me an email address so they can address my concerns and take this offline, nope, address my concerns here, so that everyone else can also see what you will do, don't hide, tell me and anyone else who experiences your poor service what you will do, be brave, transparency is the pathway to a having a legitimate concern and addressing it out in the open.

I was exstreemly disapointed with Prism. Firstly, far too many hangers-on allowed into the waiting area during a pandemic and creating an uncomfortable packed situation. I was forced by staff to go and sit in a different waiting area because of too many people. Yet the other patient's guests were allowed to stay. After spending 5.5 hours in hosiptal the night before (after an apointment with my optometrist that afternoon), my emergency appointment set up by the hospital was not entered into their system. 2 doctors and one nurse examinied me 4 times over 3.5 hours and could not figure out the source of my retinal detachment. I was given 1 hour to drive to a hospital in COVID hot spot Toronto for an other appointment with an other doctor. I was shocked, but said okay and they ashured me that all would be fine and sending my files ASAP. They never sent the files and once in Toronto, the doctor had to do all the tests over again. He found the problem in 10 minutes and I am finally getting treatment. Prism's stylish decor will not make up for poor service and care.

I even spoke to the supervisor before the apt. And Sent the referral from another dr office. Again promised from a rep Dalal poor customer service listening skills on the phone. I ask her to send the release form by Monday it is now Tuesday and nothing and no follow up! I’m again on hold! 30 mins plus! Canada has no good health system I’m taking my mother to the states. If you have money research and don’t use this office. These good reviews have to be fake. This office has no empathy or Care for their patients. 30 mins later now the rep is looking for the information it looks like the request was sent but poor communication it’s not done. I'm so angry that now detachement of her retina, vision loss,. glaucoma, are possible. This is one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I took my Mom & Dad for their eye tests. My Dad's appointment was at 1:40PM and my Mom was at 1:55PM today. We arrived in plenty of time at 1:15PM. We came over to the eye test side and there was no one at the front desk. I asked a young lady at the optical area if we were supposed to just wait until we are called and she said yes. So we waited. It was 2:00PM until one of the eye test technician came to me to ask if I have an appointment; I told her that the appointments were for my Mom & Dad. It was then that I was told that I needed to go to the other side of the hall to registered my parents. Wasted an hour of my time for nothing! Someone should have come to me much sooner to ask if we have an appointment and direct me to the appropriate place. The technician told me that she will bring this up with management. I hope they will do something to correct this for the future.

When you walk in the building there's two offices one to the left one to the right. I am registered with them for long time, this is very overrated place. They have registered more patients than they can handle. If you need the help from a doctor, and when you need it most, they will NOT be available. Sometime it takes 30-40 minutes or more to talk to customer services representative. They offer appointments a month or two later. what if the patient is having some urgency of the issue, he is loosing the eye sight or having pain... The staff is also not very helpful and very rude and not ready to accommodate... planning to get new referral from my physician and get registered at other ophthalmologist place.

She did not charge me to eye exam and recommend me to see Dr. Diamond Tam for cataract surgery in 2014. It takes me to have a cataract surgery by Dr. Tam in May 2016. It is worth to wait for Dr. Tam who is talented , fabulous and the best of all best eye surgeons. There is something MUST be done with administration regarding booking and following up with an appointment. I agree that Prism Eye Institute has the best facility, but did not manage customer service as well as their equipment. Hopefully, the owner(s) of this Institute will realize that organizational skills in administration are VERY IMPORTANT for his profit and his reputation in the long term. Most of all, the Prism Custom Optical MUST BE thoroughly with its policy regarding integrity of its advice to customers who are mostly seniors and who need to rely on TRUSTWORTHY in customer service = charge the fee for the quality of a pair of eyeglasses in equality of verbal promise and in delivery in the end. For example, I purchase a pair of eyeglasses and agree to pay for $500.00 to have a titanium frame in the name of BCBG BETHAN according to the seller's words. In delivery, I receive it in plastic frame without engraved words on titanium on its frame for $500.00 from PRISM CUSTOM OPTICAL. I am now waiting to have a meeting with the boss of its store on Thursday, July 14, 2016. I picked it up on Friday, July 8, at 5:30 pm. I order it on June 29, 2016 after my eye exam that is scheduled a month after my eye cataract surgery in May 19, 2016. The seller tried to avoid me on Monday and Tuesday. Finally, her boss contacts me and gives me an appointment to solve my complain on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 after I left a message twice on both Monday and Tuesday, July 11 and 12 with her co-worker. May King To whomever concern: Mr. Tony Braddock is very caring and he has provided with his supreme service to my satisfaction. Yes, he promptly exchanges the original pair of BCBG BETHAN with an explanation that his seller rep did not alert me in the beginning. This special eyeglasses' frame BCBG BETHAN did not have ""ENGRAVING titanium"" words on its plastic frame. So do some other fashion brand names whose frame is made of metal. Although the wait is long (as the clinic is packed with people), Dr. Verma was able to offer immediate pain relief and have explained the situation very clearly. Turn around time for this workplace is unbelievable. Once you build a rapport with one of the coordinators, they end up leaving. As a patient, that speaks volume. The front line workers (receptionists and techs) - *NOT managers* - are so hard working so to know they all leave 1 by 1 is disheartening. Management... I think it is time you shuffled things around or trade places with your front line staff to see and feel how it is to work directly with patients! Maybe then you will realize sitting at your desks all day behind closed doors won't make a good work environment for your staff and they might actually last more than 1 week .. or 1 month. Doctors... fight for your front line staff, not everything management tells you is accurate. To everyone that has issues with the line ups to check in at the front or your calls not being answered, ask to speak to a manager and see what they say is the hold up - lets bet $20 that they won't have an answer for you. Maybe its poor scheduling? Maybe its the high turn around rate of staff? Maybe its management not coming out to lend a helping hand to their employees who get constantly verbally abused for NOT being properly trained and NOT being fully informed of the implications of the job? Seems like the issue stems from above and the ones who face patients every day get the grunt of the issues first hand. The doctors here to not appreciate their staff AT ALL! They are "amazing" surgeons but can't even give a single praise to the technician who caught their mistake once or twice OR to the front desk staff that has to deal with their last minute decision to "call in sick" and call all their patient less the 24 hours before their appointment while getting yelled at call after call only because the doctor failed to respect their patient's time. So to all the people that are complaining here that their appointments got cancelled more than once - please think about the reasoning behind it. The person who called you didn't want to call you - they were forced to so be nice. Management: what management? They don't say hi or communicate with their staff and they are not approachable so I guess handing in a resignation letter is easier. Want a day off? good luck. Want to get paid accurately? funny joke. Want to move up in the company? make sure you are a teachers pet to the managers or else you will never be considered. Want to be paid fairly? Don't even consider working here. All these 5 star reviews are from people who were asked to leave a review after someone from management overheard them thanking a doctor on their way out of a patient room - not a genuine conversation/rating. Take it from someone who has witnessed it first hand. I hope PRISM wakes up and opens their eyes or else they are the next in line to join the 4-year-cataract waitlist.

No value for your time at all. Dr Noordeh doesn’t know made worst decision that my mum almost lost eye. So long story short my mum has UVITS and was seen by dr Mili Roy and her treatment was excellent , now when it reaffirmed after few years went back again and they assign Dr Noordeh instead of Dr Roy and I thought he will do exact same treatment as they have everything on file previously . Suddenly he decided to stop one of eye drop which dr Roy prescribed and my god it turned the table and gone eye bad to worst and so he had to put back again same as before change. She is still recovering and it’s been months . It takes 3-4 hours total but even initial to see dr they are always late by 30-60 mins just put eye drops to be seen by dr. Also, if you reach there and they might say oh dr is not in and we left voicemail ( happen to be only 40 mins early than your appointment time) seriously !!! ? So if you are working and cannot take day off just look for other option. I feel like why they decide to change the dr when requisition for certain dr . So dissappointing . Waiting to get cure this time by will be looking for another dr to save my time waiting

When I finally got to talk to someone, I was told I would receive a call back. Never did, also filled out the online form and told they had no record of receiving it. That happened twice. Will be looking elsewhere for my eye care. Prism Eye institute can't be bothered to give a courteous call back or an email. Probably not interested in seeing seniors.

Because I live out of town & there was a snowstorm the night before, I left a considerable amount of time to arrive for my first appointment. Although I arrived 30 minutes early, my check in was completed right away & in a friendly & efficient manner. I then proceeded to have all of the tests required prior to having my cataract surgery being scheduled. I was in & out in approximately 30 minutes for an appointment that I was originally told might take at least an hour. All staff, from the front desk check in person to the technicians performing the test were friendly, efficient & very informative. Dr. Varma is not only an Eye Surgeon, but he also carries a magic wand !!! After cataract surgery in my both eyes, my vision was still fuzzy, so my ophthalmologist did YAG Capsulotomy. Unfortunately, it caused yet another issue ‘star-burst’ around any light source for my both eyes. It caused me significant distress with night vision especially the driving. My regular optometrist and ophthalmologist couldn’t solve this issue. Being a medical professional, I discussed the issue with my classmate ophthalmologists, but no luck. Afterwards, I saw Dr. Devesh Varma at Prism Eye Institute. He did a repeat YAG Capsulotomy to further enlarge the hole in both capsules, and bingo !! The star-burst problem disappeared and my vision became completely normal instantly. I’m very proud Dr. Varma’s skills and ocular expertise. My wife is also very happy with the narrow angle glaucoma surgery performed by Dr. Varma. Thanks a million Dr. Varma to bring back my vision !! Highly appreciated. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend has had this surgery before with a doctor at another place. Unfortunately this doctor passed away years ago. When his problem regrew as it does for some people, he was referred here. He was given ZERO sedation by Dr. Noordeh..they just numbed his eye. His previous doctor had given him some sedation for his anxiety as well as the numbing. They provided him with no eyepatch and no instructions to wear one when even Google references on nearly every website of different places that do this surgery, indicate an eye patch...which is what he had last time. When surgery was done, they asked him to stand up and grab the nurses arm. He thought they were walking him to a waiting room, but she walked him to the entrance door. Never asked if his ride was there after, asked if he was ok, nothing. Disgusting. Treated like a revolving door. If you're considering this place, check RateMDs for the real ratings. 1 star service.

March 1, 2021: My dad underwent laser surgery today at the institute. Dr. Varma has been amazing as always. My dad keeps marveling at how organized, efficient and professional everything and everyone are there. 5 stars once again! Feb. 2, 2021: My dad has a condition called pseudoexfoliation syndrome, which is an age-related condition which creates dandruff like flakes of proteins, on the surface of the lens of the eye, pupillary margin of iris, zonules, cornea, ciliary body and anterior vitreous. This condition caused dislocation of the lens, so he could not see at all with his left eye. Dr. Varma at Prism Eye Institute saved my dad’s vision after we were told by other doctors that they would not take him on as a patient as he has 99% chance of losing his eyesight completely if they attempt a surgery. Dr. Varma performed a miracle: he turned my dad’s despair at losing his eyesight to a life full of hope and promises and our whole family will be forever grateful to him for it. Quality of service and care we have experienced at Prism Eye Institute are second to none. Clean, spacious offices; friendly, highly accommodating personnel; very short or no waiting time to do the tests or to see a doctor are what make them stand out among all eye care organizations that we dealt with in the past. Five-star surgery, from the nursing support, to anesthesia to the eye surgery for replacement of an artificial lens that came loose several years after cataract surgery. Quite amazing for complex surgery, the experience was more like a spa appointment with classical music in the background and walking out within 2 hours. No pain whatsoever. What was interesting was the large gas bubble in the top of the eye that appeared in my vision at the bottom of the eye post surgery. The bubble slowly dissipated over 10 days. Thanks for the excellent operation!!

I was seen by Dr. Klein recently for developing cataracts and high ocular pressure. A few days prior I had visited the institute for comprehensive testing to assist him in his evaluation. Testing was conducted in a reasonable amount of time and all staff/technicians were courteous and professional. Care with respect to COVID guidelines was evident. My follow up visit with Dr. Klein also ran smoothly, especially considering that this is a very busy clinic operating in challenging times. I was anxious about my visit but Dr Klein immediately put me at ease and assured me he had the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. I left confident that I am getting the best possible care and feel fortunate to have access to this top notch facility. I should mention that I chose to travel to this clinic from Kitchener as I consider the travel time a small inconvenience for the level of care and expertise received.

The service and cleanliness of the facility along with the process taken during testing right through to a doctor consultation of the problem was fantastic. My doctor was Rahul Sharma and he is an ophthalmologist at the facility. Clearly explained my conditions and provided a clear outlook to the future by offering examinations to watch the condition of my problem. It was a pleasure going to this facility as the staff was excellent and pleasant as well. I attended twice in one week. I will definitely recommend them to anyone having eye problems. The printer does not seem to work may be too early in the morning every thing was quick. still in one test while they call me for another one. I would have to agree with many reviewers on this comment board. My experience was extremely dissatisfactory and I only hope that patients and families read this board before making their first visit. Staff, especially the doctors have zero manners. Impersonal would be an understatement. It is like a meatshop in there. Overbooking and long wait times (with no reasonable estimate given - I ended up being late for work often) with unfriendly, "not my problem", type of health care professionals who are in a rush to spend the couple of minutes so they can document the visit and get 'em out........ I have been taking a patient there and over the last 8 visits, it has been consistently unpleasant. We as tax-paying clients should be well informed and have a choice to avoid these places to trust these individuals with our health issues. One of the full time ladies who I saw consistently that brings patients into the examination room for doctors talks to senior patients rudely, in a patronizing way, and has poor hygiene. When there are many post-surgery patients who require utmost level of cleanliness when touching the face area, it is unacceptable that the person that brings in the elderly into the room to put drops in the eye for the doctor seems she hasn't washed nor brushed her hair for at least a few days. I wonder if there's any training and/or quality control in place. The worst was the surgeon. I would like to spare you from the details but recounting the conversations where he was leaving us WHILE we were asking very important questions that we prepared on paper saying "I got a lot of patients to see", "you can ask these questions when you go see your optician", "you can make an appointment with an optometrist and ask" (when addressing a concern with discomfort after surgery), "I am saying it for the third time, ......" (when asking a specific question about questionable activity post-surgery), I again wonder if there has been any training on professionalism and quality control done on the doctor. Not cool. We always left feeling unsure, unfair, and rushed out. Looking in the waiting room, I could not help but feel bad for many patients, most of them from minority ethnic groups, seniors, and those without chaperons. The only friendly professional folks are the ladies at the reception who are far more compassionate and reasonable. I send my thanks to them. As giving zero stars is not an option, this one star would be for the reception. Thanks.

The worst management ever. They have called only 2 days before my procedure to check if I can come in two days then after I said Ok, they changed my appointment many times and when I arrived on time they kept me waiting for ages with noone of the staff to talk to. Finally I found a nurse to ask her about my timing, there were 3 patients ahead of me for a procedure, which might take them to finish more than 2 hours. On top of that, and during the last few months I was trying to follow up on my appointment ( because they said they will see me in 2 months and it was already 5 months) but they didn't reply to my email and God forbid they will pick up the phone. This business requires more customer service representatives to accommodate their high call volume, as one hour wait times to speak with someone is unacceptable. Moreover, it's absolutely frustrating when you are calling pertaining to possible post-procedure complications, but are unable to reach a point of contact in a timely manner (if at all). Lastly, staff and scheduling are disorganized- communication among personnel needs to be streamlined, and patient appointment time slots need to be restructured to accommodate more efficiently without one hour delays.

I had one of my laser eye procedure for holes & tears in my retina done by Dr Mills. I was very scared & nervous but I was in the very capable hands of Dr Mills. He was very kind, patient & understanding throughout the whole procedure & after. He kept talking to me during the procedure, letting me know i was doing ok & also when he was almost done, which is really good to hear. After the procedure, he lay my chair completely back lowering my heads & literally lift both my feet up to the chair to allow for blood circulation as I was feeling dizzy. This doctor took care of me the way a parent took care of their child. I was given to time to relax until I felt comfortable to move. To have a doctor of your caliber be so understanding & sensitive to your patients is truly a blessing to all your patients. I'm very impressed & it brought me to tears knowing the care I received. Non accommodating and non professional, simple don’t care about patients. They gave me 12 days eye surgery procedure time, because of my personal reasons I requested them to reschedule the procedure to next month. I was told they have 15 days cancellation policy, I have to pay extra $500 for that. How 15 days policy apply on me when you are giving me 12 days time for procedure. I already have spent $700 for eye tests with them because these tests were not covered under OHIP. So rude and unprofessional.

Dr. Mills, specifically, is THE BEST. He is professional, courteous, is very mindful of patient health and safety. However, we saw 2 clerical staff NOT wearing masks -- 1 fat lady at the eyeglasses area had hers under her chin. A clerk in an open office wasn't wearing a mask at all! This is a healthcare centre! This is an AIRBORNE virus, and you are sharing airspace with vulnerable patients, public. It seems other staff know about these 2 ignorant employees who wilfully ignore rules. VERY disappointed, this place is unsafe and a lot of old people come here for eye check-ups. Management says "we will followup" that's it.

Dr Ahmed did my first cataract surgery and all was great. He was extremely nice and upbeat. I was happy with the experience. Then I experienced a spike in my eye pressure in my other eye which landed me in emergency. After that I was referred back to Dr. Ahmed where I was told my lens needed to come out. I asked if it was a pressure issue couldn't I just use the drops. I was told I was lucky I didn't lose my eyesight and it would happen again. My gut told me something was off but I was scared about losing my sight so I agreed. Knowing my eye health history Dr Ahmed should of never touched this eye. My vision problems quickly spiraled down spurred on by the cataract surgery. It's been years and I live with the regret everyday. I've heard other specialists refer to him as "surgery happy." And now when I really need his help, hes dismissive of my issues and makes decisions for me. He gave me options and told me to think it over and when I returned with my decision after much thought, he decided to remove all the options from the table, leaving me with none. For someone who is suppose to deal with complicated cataract surgery, he didn't take any of those complications into consideration when telling me I needed surgery.

In the front desk there is a lady with whote complexion and long nose (she refused to tell her name) and she actually yelled at me with complete disrespect. They get paid only if the doctor is met. No indication or any sign if the doctor would ever see me. No water, coffee or washroom ,(proper). Very very bad worst experience. Even to my enemy I won't recommend this place.

Was told by the emergency department at Trillium to come here. Longer wait times than the emergency room. Reception is rude and too busy eating at the front desk than to deal with the line up of people needing to be checked in. Doctor is good but not worth coming to a clinic where the check in takes an hour. Once we checked in, I was told that I have to come back at 10:30, and to go eat something. I was at the clinic at 8:45am with a 4 year old. I asked the receptionist why I was not given an appointment before I came all the way to Brampton from Mississauga. She said “we have a long wait list if you wanted and appointment before coming here you would get one a year from now”, that made no sense to me as she has just given me an appointment for 10:30am the same day. I did not argue. I took my daughter to the McDonald’s to play ground. I returned at 10:05 am. I sat and waited. At 10:30am my daughter was called. The girl took us to an exam room where she asked me the questions for which the ER report was already provided. I pointed that out to her so she told me to sit and wait. In the waiting room one staff said “oh this must be Alina, I called her several times, you must have just arrived”. I was flabbergasted. I am not sure how she was calling me before when the reception told me to come back at 10:30am. I waited another hour to see the doctors. Who was polite and knowledgeable. Doctor wanted a follow up at the end of the week at the Mississauga clinic. I was told to get the time from reception . I went out and saw the same line as the one in the morning. I asked the reception if I could call in for the appointment who rudely told me to “get in line” I waited 23 min in line, but my little one had a long day and started crying so I left. I will find another clinic to have her follow up, this clinic lacks appropriate front line staff. They need a better system to keep the line moving and quickly check in people, another person to provide appointments as not to have everyone waiting for an hour.

Horrible experience. I had multiple visits and many tests done. I paid nearly $300 out of pocket for the tests. During which time I never saw a doctor face to face to see what was going on with my eyes. During a virtual call Dr. Verma suggested laser surgery. However, they said I will be receiving a care package with all the information. Never received the care package. I called them to no avail. Filled out the online forms for a call back yet again nothing. A day before the surgery finally I got a hold of someone who said she will be sending the care package - yet again nothing was sent to me. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Verma was more than an hour late. The drops wore off its effects and when the laser was done - it felt like a bullets are being fired into my brain. I had excruciating pain during the surgery and after that as well. One of my eyes had internal bleeding during the surgery. I wish I opted out of the surgery. No precautions were suggested either after the surgery. Now I have more problems with my eyes than I had before the surgery. Dr. Verma suggested some wipes and drops. I spent another $100 on those with no benefits for my eyes. Dr. Verma won't even answer questions. Every time you ask him something he says "ask your optometrists!" There is a reason I was referred to Prism. I still do not know what kind of surgery was done on my eyes. I was blindfoldly taken to the surgery room and I still have no idea what was done and why do I have a dozen million side effects. I am still to receive a response from Prism for the last month or so for an appointment. They made money off of their lousy service and now they dont care what I am going through!

I was referred to Prism after having a retinal hemorrhage. I originally met with Dr Mills at the Brampton location, and had a wonderful first impression. No wait time, quick five minutes laser per eye, and I was given his assistant's phone number so I could call and schedule four more laser sessions at the oakville location (closer to home). My first visit to Prism Oakville, there was a VERY long wait. At least two hours. My partner had to wait the entire time in the car. I thought maybe this was a one-off since the first appointment went so quickly. Second visit to Prism Oakville... Exactly the same thing. At least two hours waiting. Not even an apology for taking so long. Dr Mills actually left in the middle of my laser session to take a phone call. Again, my partner had to wait in the car the entire time. My third visit was the last straw. Consistently having to wait for such long periods of time? What a joke. There is absolutely no respect for patient's time. I had to take time off work, and my partner took time off as well to have to sit for TWO HOURS PLUS, for laser that takes five minutes per eye. Some people are paid hourly, and not so fortunate to be able to take time and still be paid. I am not sure if it is their standard procedure to over book, but it is ridiculous. The waiting room is packed with people of all ages waiting and waiting. There should be a rough idea of how long each procedure /appointment takes. My laser took five minutes per eye, so even booking it as a half hour time slot allows sufficient time for the Dr to have a break before meeting his next client. By not overbooking patients, not only will the patients be happier, but I'm sure the doctors won't have to rush from appointment to appointment. There needs to be respect for people's time. Prism has absolutely none.

Great doctors. Dr. Michelle Khan, who took over Dr. Warren Allin's patients after his retirement, is also excellent. People's greatest complaint about this place is that there is always a very, very long wait time to get through to them via telephone.

When the voice recording to confirm your apt says "please allow three hours for your appointment" and you're guaranteed a 2.5 hour wait (no matter what time) with a maximum of ten minutes seeing a doctor, you know the place has to be good. Whoever is in charge of booking at this place should be given a one-way ticket to the moon, as they are unfit for society.

Oh no, I have dr. Varma for the first time in June and now i am scared. They have already postponed my appt. once and I need surgery and have no ophthalmologist as he couldn't help me any more. Now I am terrified and don't know whether to go to the Oakville Eye. I thought Prism was supposed to be good. I don't even know if my drops are working and am on a course of prednisone. Is he really that cold?
