Very disappointed with latest visit and treatment from front end staff. I brought my son to his 3rd follow up appointment and waited over 40minutes past our scheduled time before we were seen. Another patient came in 20 minutes after us and for some reason, the doctor brought him in before us. It’s not easy to wait that long with a six year old after a long day of work and a long day of school for him. After the eye exam was completed, we were sent out to the waiting room again for another type of test to be done. This was the first time for this secondary exam and I wasn’t quite sure what it was or who was doing it.... so we just sat there and waited. The doctor proceeded to bring more patients into his room which lead me to believe someone else was going to help us. Not sure what was going on or if this other person even knew we were waiting, I inquired to a front staff member who was walking by, to ask if she knew we were waiting for someone because I didn’t even see the doctor talk to anyone about us. Before I could finish my sentence, she snapped at me right in front of everyone, saying they are doing the best they can and that there’s only 2 of them. I couldn’t believe how I was being treated in front of everyone, including my son, when all I was trying to find out was what still needed to be done. We were there for almost an hour for a simple follow up. No apology for our 40minute wait, no clear direction as to what was going on... it was very apparent to me at that moment, that my time and my sons well being were not a priority and therefore I will be looking for a new office who treats all their patients with respect and dignity.

I have been coming to Pacific Eye Doctors for quite some time now. Having worn glasses for over 30 years, Ive been to a few optometry offices. I have always had a wonderful experience with Dr Trotter, the screening staff and front desk staff. Everyone has always been so friendly, and today was no exception. I went in for my appointment, only to discover that my appointment is for tomorrow. ((facepalm)). Well, they made it work. Took me in anyway and as always, was thorough and informative. I absolutely love Dr Trotter and appreciate the time and care she takes with my 3 kids and I (who doesn't love the Wall-E face!) . I needed 3 pair of lenses (two were my old frames and one was a fairly new frame) changed from the one pair of glasses - into one for driving, one for closeup reading and one for computer/paperwork. Dr. Gill made it happen and Candace pulled the lot together with understanding - both listened to my concerns and discussed good solutions. My eye exam was thorough, clearly described after each test, compiled by Dr. Gill who went over each test and result with me. He had solutions that I needed. I started seeing tiny spots in one of my eyes. I had seen a different Dr 2 days prior and was told I had some eye floaters and sent in my way. Things just didn’t seem right so I went back and saw Dr Sundher. It turned out that the spots I was seeing was blood from a retinal tear. Dr Sundher booked me in for eye surgery the next morning. I am so thankful she caught this as it could have been so much worse if left alone. I’ve been to Pacific Eye Drs for years and seen many doctors there but Dr Sundher is the best. She takes time to listen and checks thoroughly. I’m very thankful :) thank you Dr Sundher!!

Recently visited for an exam with Dr. Rubaranjan! The process of checking in, pre-tests and the exam itself was fantastic! Quick, to the point, and my favourite part - no pressure to try on glasses! Dr. Rubaranjan walked me straight from the exam room to reception to pick up my prescription. I didn't feel pressured, and checking out was a breeze. I will definitely be back here for my routine exams!

I am posting this on behalf of my husband as he gets 1 star for computer capabilities. After increasingly poor service at our usual optometry clinic we decided to give Pacific Eye Doctors a try based on a friend's experience. My husband was beyond pleased with the entire experience. The staff were friendly, efficient and professional. The premises were clean and well organized and running smoothly under the new Covid-19 guidelines. He also appreciated time they took to answer his questions regarding possible laser surgery with clear, well-informed answers including all the pros and cons specific to his vision and eye health and that there was no high-pressure sales for new glasses. He will definitely return and I will be booking when my annual exam is due later this year. April 2021. Now reviewing for myself and stand by the 5 star rating. All staff were professional, friendly and informative, taking the time to explain test results and options. I was very comfortable with the covid protocols in place and my appointment began on time. I really appreciated the no-pressure sales when it came to choosing new glasses (Not my experience at other places) and helpful advise on ways to save as I need a few pairs for different needs but still want stylish frames. When I came back to pick up my new glasses and lenses they also repaired an old pair of sunglasses at no charge. I would definitely recommend Pacific Eye Doctors.

My son has poor vision and his one eye requires a more powerful lens than the other eye. I too found that Pacific eye doctor was very expensive; however, when I took my son somewhere else they did not get the lens right for the one eye, so I had to go back to Pacific eye doctor to have them put in a new lens on the one side anyway. Despite my medical need to get my eyes checked every year, I have been a bad patient and have not been for about 4-5 years. After having moved back to Maple Ridge after a short absence, I asked my family doctor where I should go. He suggested Pacific Eye Doctors. From the initial phone call to the intake and exams, everything was done quickly, politely, and professionally. Each exam was explained and when it was time to go over the results with the doctor, she was amazing. I saw Dr Jill Trotter. She made me feel at ease and answered all of my silly questions. Be aware this company is out for the money!!! Went for an appointment gave my insurance card told them i have insurance card when I called for the appointment. They said I'm covered no problem. First lie. After the appointment handed us full bill and told us we weren't covered. She goes on to tell us that we had not registered online?? Why did she tell us that at start when we presented the card. Paid bill and left. Called the insurance company said they could have done a lot more? called the office manager at the pacific eye doctors, who is more interested yelling at me than solving the problem. She did not even care when we said we would no longer return? Enough said.

I had an appointment today to order reading glasses , i was there couple of minutes before an appointment, it is cold and windy today and they were late. I was left waiting outside until THEY were ready . When I complaint that I was left outside in the cold and they were late she completely ignored me , not a word as if i said nothing . Only told me to sanitize my hands and pointed to the bottle of sanitizer. Throughout my appointment she hardly said a word . There was not parking spot for me to park the car on their lot, they must be overbooking .

I am Dr. Satinder Bains patient for more than 10 years. Now I need his help again and it appears he does not respect my mask exempt status, and is refusing to examine my eyes. It is very disappointing to see how people you have respected and cherished for so long, refuse to do their job and help, especially when it comes to your health. It is just unethical, not to mention that there is a new kind of discrimination in our society happening right in front of our eyes. In response to your response, let me point, that there is an exemption clause in the same provincial order that you are insisting, you are following. This means that you are actually NOT following this order, because if something was followed properly, it should include the whole piece, and not only preferable bits of it. What you are doing is disgraceful and discriminatory. This shows that you are there not to help the public, rather extract as much money as you can under your personal preferences. As healthcare providers, you must follow an ethical approach, underlined in your professional organization's Standards of Practice. Please read it carefully and follow it. My official complain to the College of Optometrists of BC will follow.

My family and I have been going to Pacific Eye Doctors for a number of years. We have always had great service thete and felt well taken care of. In the past couple of months I have had 2 appointments with Dr. Gill, who is awesome, and and gotten 4 pairs of various prescription glasses. 2 new sets of bifocals for my existing frames, 1 pair of prescription sunglasses and 1 pair of reading glasses. I had issues with 2 of the glasses that I ended up having to come in a couple of times to get them adjusted and 1 pair ultimately replaced completely. The staff were excellent! Always taking the time to listen to my concerns and, I know that all glasses don't come out fitting and working properly immediately, but I was never made to feel like I was taking up their time with my seemingly endless tweaks to get all the glasses right. Just a short note to thank Dr. Sundher for an excellent eye exam and her immediate follow-up with a referral to an Ophthalmologist for an issue she found with my retina. Their office called me the same day as my appointment with her and I attended their office the following day for my laser treatment. All went well and I expect the retinal issue is resolved so thanks again Dr. Sundher for diagnosing it and acting quickly so it did not become a major problem.

I haven't been to the Eye Dr's in 20+ Years and I knew that my vision was starting to need a minor correction. When my family and I arrived, as everyone was getting a check up, we were promptly greeted and welcomed to the office. We all had Dr. Piotrowski, or Kate as she introduced herself to my family and I as she warmly welcomed us the examination room. My family and I all had nothing but positive things to say about our experience with her once were we all finished our check ups. I did need glasses and pick out a pair, which were ready the next morning! I cannot remember the women's name that helped me with the fitting and picking out my frames unfortunately, but after needing a minor adjustment today, I would highly recommend anyone of the staff members as everyone was nice and pleasant to work with. I also Highly recommend Dr Piotrowski or Kate to my family, I wouldn't take them anywhere else now.

Dr. Sundher is a super hero. She noticed a problem on my retina during a routine eye examination. I was referred to a retinal specialist and had immediate laser surgery on my retina. when i went there for contacts i got a prescription . when i ordered them on line from clearly contacts i gave them the new prescription and ordered my usual brand. NO ONE AT PACIFIC TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED THE BRAND TO BE THE SAME AS WHAT THEY WROTE ON THE SCRIPT. i am a senior and try to live on 1200 $ a month. now i have 135.00 $ worth of useless lenses and now have no lenses for 1 year when the insurance company will help out with the next 6 months.people should be informed about this major difference between glasses and contacts prescriptions. maybe they were just trying to get me to buy from them
