REVIEWS OF OCC Eyecare IN Argentia

Relatively fast service. Very clean space with polite and competent staff. It can be tough to get a clear and straight answer from family practitioners sometimes, but here the doctor was confident and sure and was able to give us a clear explanation when the other doctors could not. A great place to go. A definitely recommend the OCC to anyone and everyone for when it comes time for your eyecare.

I have been going to OCC for a few years now and Dr. Armagon has, without a doubt, saved my vision. He is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. Although the appointments are short, he always takes the time to listen to and answer all of my questions and concerns. I have complete confidence and trust in him and his work. I would recommend him to anyone.

I have been seeing Dr N Armogan for almost 10 years now,,,,Without Him I would probably be blind in my left Eye. The Clinic is first rate, The Staff are Couteous, and helpfull, and My Appointments are Always on time. Dr Armogan has gone the Extra mile for ME, more than once....and I truly Appreciate all that he and his Clinic have done for Me. I have referred friends and family to the Centre, and will whenever asked. Thanks Dave Harrington

I have been going to this location for many years and have always been satisfied with the service, the doctors and the staff. I highly recommend that everyone turn to this location for all of their ophthalmologist eye care.

This place is like a zoo. Hundreds of people. You will to through about ten people before you can see a doctor, who will spend about 2 minutes with you. You have to pay for parking also.

Customer Service is rude and unprofessional

My appointment was at 12:45pm with Dr. McGuire. It took me over 2 hours to see the doctor. Once I was in his office, he saw my eyes for seconds and gave me a paper about dry eyes without alowing me to say the reason why I was really there for. I tried to explain the strong pain I am having behind my eyes, and he told me to come back in 4 months and left the room. The entire appointment with him took less than 2 minutes. The clinic was crowded and everyone was complaining about its inefficiency. Do not waste your time!

Good professional facility and well organized considering the number of patients in the waiting rooms at any one time..

I had my cataract lens replacement surgery done here and I found the whole process professional, efficient, and all the doctors, particularly Dr. Armogan, courteous, understanding, knowledgeable, and concerned about their patients 'welfare. Many of my family and friends are very hesitant to deal with eye problems as they find this scary to handle.I will not hesitate to recommend your establishment to everyone I know as my experience here has been excellent.

Been taking my grandmother here for years now. Everyone is always dressed professionally and everything is clean. There is your one star. I've had enough of how patients are treated here. Today trying to get any answers out of Dr. O'Brien felt like pulling teeth. He was extremely rude and superior in his conversation skills. Most of your patients are seniors considering the business and yet are treated like numbers. Reception has never been friendly to us. Many times they times they tried upselling my grandmother to unnecessary means. Shes a pensioner and was nervous at every turn..please bring someone with you to this clinic to help other than just driving home. They take advantage and it's not a comfortable spot for asking questions, getting clarity or therapeutic care. Get your neccessary eye care here but understand you will not receive more than a few minutes with a doctor . If your a pensioner you can have Ohip cover all costs. Dont be fooled by the only nice and calm moment you have in this place.....the sales office!

Coming to OCC eyecare has been the worst experience I've ever had with a healthcare service. I have come to appts on multiple occasions, each one where I've spent about 4 hours in the waiting room. Twice I've come in and was told to come back because they had made a mistake and forgot to inject me with dye before I was supposed to see the doctor. I had to miss both school and work multiple times because of this. After all this mess I asked for my records to be sent to my optometrist so I could be referred somewhere else. Since then I have called back three other times for these records and nobody seems to have any clue what I'm talking about. I'm still waiting. The lack of care for their patients and the disorganization at OCC is atrocious. Please nobody waste their time here.

Terrible service. Terribly run office. Stay away. Don't trust them with your eyes. They don't care. OCC Eyecare, stands for Obviously Couldn't Care Eyecare!

I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Armogan. I believe he is tops in his field and would not trust my treatment to anyone else. The OCC centre is a marvel in efficiency. It amazing me how I am moved thru the various treatment stages quickly and effectively. In this day of strained public sector budgets and growing gov't debt, it is wonderful to see a largely Gov't funded institution that makes effective use of public monies.

I'm not a patient BUT my mother goes here. Pros: no compaints about the doctors and wait time. The doctors my mom had were all professional and built a good rapport with her. Cons: unprofessional support staff who are inconsiderate, constantly interrupt you, do not have proper phone etiquette (hope they use their recordings to better improve training), speak in condescending tones, their call wait times range from 10-20 minutes (waste of her break times). Never in my life have I heard someone speak so rudely to a client. e.g. my mom tried to reschedule her appt over the phone and the receptionist, the one with a brown accent (not being disrespect or racist) was not at all understanding that clients have jobs to work around too and are not flexible in leaving too early. The first appointment was at the ideal time, not the ideal date (mother had a dermatologist appt booked a year in advance already). Receptionist wouldn't work with mother to find a time convenient for both parties. Kept saying doctor isn't working after 2 when first appt was scheduled for after 2. Oh, and top of all that parking isn't free, clients are charged if they give 48-hour notice, etc. Kindly take the money that you gouge from seniors' pockets to retrain or hire new staff. Thanks!

Dr. Armagon performed emergency vitrectomy surgery on my left eye in May 2014 and then July 2014. He saved my eye! I had lost most of my vision but his miracle hands did the work. Such an efficient and competent surgeon with a team of highly competent and efficient staff - all of them worked like a well-oiled machine. I am periodically visiting him for follow-ups and am impressed by the efficient way each patient is taken care off; no long waiting periods. State of the art clinic with latest technology. My photo is about 2 months after the second surgery and there is no visible evidence of any surgery on my left eye. Most of my vision is restored. I would recommend everyone to consider this clinic before making any decision about the repairing of their eye(s) An update: Its more than five years since I have been a patient of Dr. Armagon. His handiwork is still holding on! He had to do a similar procedure for my right eye the year after. Bith my eyes are doing just fine. GOD Bless him richly, and may he continue to perform miracles with peoples' eyes

Update -- Six years on: If anything, I would add another star to my review. But Google only has an option for five. The care I get from Dr. Armogan, Dr Gill and the marvellous OCC team that I now know so well is absolutely top-notch. In the words of a movie critic: two thumbs up! Six years ago: It's tough to give a rating of "Loved It" in the context of a a medical situation. But I can't speak highly enough about my experience with the OCC team. Housed in an unprepossessing location in Mississauga, my initial skepticism of the facility rapidly dissipated after my first visit. Across numerous consults and procedures, Dr Narendra Armogan has been, and continues to be, highly knowledgeable, decisive, extremely skilled and results driven. Plus, I have to add, patient. The support team at the Centre has been professional, competent and efficient at every turn. The whole process of moving people through what is obviously a very busy practice is impressive. While it can be an irritant, the reiterative checks and balances to verify patients' identity is reassuring. I would prefer not to be confused with Uncle Bob sitting three chairs down. I would be remiss if I did not also mention Dr Alan Kosaric who has been a consummate professional throughout. An overdue vote of thanks to the doctors and the whole team at OCC. You've been great. David

The doctors are professional and amazing at what they do here (that deserves 5 stars). However; I have been here for over a dozen appointments and 3 surgeries with family members and have always had to wait at minimum 1 hr after an appointment time, sometimes over 2 hrs. My biggest concern is lack of communication as to wait times and overall the whole 'customer experience' could do with some improvements.

mike

I have been visiting OCC eyecare for 9 years now. Dr Armogan is really knowledgeable and I am pleased with my experience. It is always good to be treated with professionalism and care . Dr Armogan and the entire team at OCC eyecare do a great job! Wait times are less and staff is really efficient!

I've never had the "honor" of being a patient at this place but my partner has. This place recommended cataracts on both my partners eyes at a total cost of $3,000+. I suggested a second opinion. My partners sister suggested her eye doctor. He went there. SURPRISE!!! My partner DIDN'T need cataract surgery and was told that should he need one, the cost would be approximately $180 per eye. This OCC clinic is just out to rob you considering they're private.

Michael Revita

All the doctors are great, but REALLY need to hire professional front desk staff. Rude, inconsiderate and always the reason I hate coming here.

Writing this review as I am sitting here waiting. Made an appointment by calling 1800 number to book a consultation two weeks prior. Lady took my personal information over the phone. When I finally came here for my appointment, receptionist tells me that you have no appointment and we give you a call in three weeks to confirm your appointment. Left early from work for this nonsense. Will not recommend. Full of unprofessional people. Would not hold themselves accountable.

Terry Sybydlo

The worst place ever!!!! Appointment times mean absolutely nothing!!! Waiting 3 hours for an appointment and still waiting.... If your taking someone book the whole day off. They treat you like cattle. Try booking less so the service is at least a 1 star....

Frank Warman

For years Dr. Armogan, other doctors, and caring staff at OCC Eyecare have looked after my mother Anne. At each visit they have been on schedule, professional, friendly, courteous, and helpful: no issue is ever treated as trivial, and no question goes unanswered. I would highly recommend OCC Eyecare. Thank you Dr. Armogan.

I was referred here by my optometrist and if you look up eye specialist in Mississauga this place unfortunately comes up. This was a horrible experience if not the worst I have had in my life when seeing a health care related specialist. Each step of the process you are ushered into different rooms and given very little information. You have no clue who’s even helping you each step of the way. The process is similar to a factory assembly line with dozens of patients in an open area. It’s busy and as full as a bus terminal. They call your name out you go into a tiny crowded room to do some tests and then they send you back to the open area. And this process is repeated multiple times until you finally see the specialist. Very odd system and seems very hectic. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were mixups in patient information given the fast paced environment. It should be noted that in any health related situation, no step of that process should feel rushed!!!! I saw the actual specialist for maybe 2 minutes and he was incredibly rude offering very little information. Not sure why this is the first place optometrists refer patients to because they’re absolutely no help. I personally would never return and would rather spend hand over fist to see an eye specialist who actually takes time to explain things to you. I went here not too long ago but hopefully they have changed since. Otherwise try getting a specialist through your family doctor. May take longer but probably worth it then going through this mess.

The clinic is very good and has good and respectful doctors.

Building is top beautiful and clean, however, after visiting 6 times over 12months, here's what we've experienced.: 1 particular Monday Dr is always 2 plus hour late for every appointment. While other Doctors spend 3 seconds looking through equipment to look at your eyes and another 5 seconds to tell you everything looks good and rush to the next patient in the neighboring room, cha-ching, another OHIP charge. This place is about maximizing charges to OHIP, and not about caring its patient. Building is located in a vacant industrial area of Mississauga, yet they charge $4 for parking. Again, it's all about squeezing every penny out of everyone.

Rasim Duran

Our experience with this place is too bad. I think doctors there doing fine, but when it comes to their internal communication system; it is terrible. It takes more than a week to fax a report to another doctor seeing my wife at Sunnybrook hospital. We have called them twice to make sure that the report was sent. I think they need to be audited by a independent third party and/or government agency and should be kept closed until they correct their internal communication/operation system and train their supporting stuff. I am now looking for a place/organization to officially make complaints about the way they are operating.

Lisa Woods

Everytime I go to OCC Eye care I always get the best treatment. Dr. Armogan is the best eye doctor I know and there's enough stars on the review that he deserves.

I've had two appointments at this clinic with the same doctor, about eight years apart, and both times, he was rude, abrupt, and dismissive. The first time, Dr Ali was unable to diagnose my condition, and unwilling to listen to my explanation about the issue. He told me nothing was wrong with my eyes, even though I was experiencing double vision. I went to a different opthalmologist, who spotted the problem immediately and referred me to a neuro-opthamologist. The second time, Dr Ali asked me why I was there, then asked if I had a diagnosis. When I said that I did, and mentioned the neuro-opthamologist from 8 years ago, he immediately dismissed me without even checking my eyes, and told me to go back to the neuro-opthamologist. I told Dr Ali that my neuro-opthamologist had retired, but he brushed me off and insisted that he was still practising. Then he told me to just call the neuro-opthamologist's office and make an appointment. Of course, I would need a referral after 8 years, but Dr Ali dismissed this concern and told me to just call. As I predicted, the neuro-opthamologist has retired, and I will need a referral to see someone else. I hope I'm never sent back to this clinic. The support staff is nice enough, but Dr Ali's attitude has consistently been insulting and condescending, and he has refused to listen to my health concerns or answer any of my questions. And I had to pay for parking in their lot on top of that. A total waste of time and money. Don't let your doctors send you here. There are much better choices around the GTA and Oakville that can be found with a quick Google search.

Hungry

Need your face mask and then they will fix all your vision needs. Wonderful staff, always fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Takes about 45mins to 1 hour from the time of your appointment, sometimes faster depending on what your in for. Bring a sweater if you get cold ez, because it’s a little cool. Thanks for getting my eye care back on track!! I’ll be see you soon..

On Nov. 7th afternoon, I called to make an urgent appointment to see D. Kosaric, because on Sept. 20th I failled one little thing on the test. He was going to try to give his best report to the MTO, and they still suspended my license. OCC said that the Doctor was not in and they would on Nov. 8th before 12P with an answer, but nobody called me. I call OCC back at 1:30 PM and promised to have a call in 5 minutes, nothing again. I tried to call back at 2:30 for 1.5 hours until they answer and to tell me that he was already gone. I promised them if I don't get an answer by Monday at 12PM, I will go there at 1PM myself.

Mark Stafford

They never answer your emails.. very poor service... not recommended

Been following up with my eye pressure with an Ophthalmologist in this location. Staff are great, no complains but their parking is charging $3.50 and now $4 per visit. The clinic is in a industrial place, I don't understand why they need to charge their patients $4 for every visit. All other places in the corner are free parking for their guests.

Had to bring my 4yo son here in 2017. We waited 3 hours to see the Dr. They MADE me put away my sons water & goldfish crackers because they don't allow food or drinks. Dr wanted us back in a year to follow up. So now in 2018 we return and have another horrible experience. The reception argued and told me I was wrong, that I didn't see the Dr I thought I saw....when I inquired why our appt was with a different Dr. Then we waited 2 hours. Was put in exam room 4 different times, then made to go back into the waiting area, lots of fun with a 5yo and 6 month old baby. When we finally saw this new Dr he was extremely flustered and ended the appt by telling us there was nothing he could do that day because he didn't see my child last time and to come back in 2 months to see the original Dr. We live out of town, my husband took a day off and it was a complete waste of time. The parking lot has signs posted on the way in "pay at exit" "pay by cash or credit card" Except when you try to leave there is a big sticker over the credit card slot "out of order" !! Here's an interesting idea... put the "out of order sign"on the WAY INTO THE PARKING LOT! The final straw in all of this was trying to change my babies diaper...oh wait, they don't supply any bathroom with a change table????? Medical facility???? Are you kidding me!!!?? I can't be the only person who has brought someone under 2 years of age into this place? How about they cut down on the infection control paranoia and focus on actual patient needs. They are literally 30 people working there and they are "trying" to be organized but in my opinion are failing miserably. I work in the dental field and am usually very patient because I totally "get" it, but this experience ( x2 ) is completely unprofessional....and what's the deal with the useless stickers??!! So annoying. Needless to say we will NOT be returning.

Muhammad Adil

In view of Covid-19, this is the best arrangements done by the hospital management. After completing the entry process, I met Dr. dan DeAngelis who is very kind and knowledgeable Ophthalmologist but one thing which is irritating me is long waiting for next appointment. I can not drive because of blockage of tear ducts but I have been given long waiting time for procedure which is too painful.

JP S

Total eye care. Problem with appointments. I was booked for test and Dr. O'Brien on same day but just 2 days before they separated the visit and will have to go back next week to meet the doctor for the results.

Jennifer Wang

One of the most unprofessional hospitals I’ve been to. They are never on time, you get scheduled for a time just to go in and wait for two more hours. The doctors are also inpatient and only spends a minute or two with the patient. Would not recommend.

Julia Peart

This clinic won't accept pre-operative assessments from Nurse Practitioners if a patient uses one for their primary care provider. Such an unnecessary barrier to accessing care!

Hilary Christensen

During my cataract surgeries and follow-up, both Dr. Armogan and Dr. Gill have given me the best of care. OCC is organized in such a way as to make sure related treatments and tests are provided during the same appointment while still managing to efficiently accommodate a large number of patients needing care. We are fortunate to have access to this high level of surgical experience...so, no more complaints about wait times!

Steve Haddad

Extremely Rude! I waited for almost 2 hours and left because they lost my file and refused to help because I was there so long. If you have a job to get to, don't go here.

Wayne Melnechuk

They make you feel like cattle. They spend no time with you. The doctor is with you for 2 minutes. There is no way they are able do a thorough investigation in that time. It is surprising we allow them to operate in Ontario.

CHARANJIT GILL

Great place for eye treatments, best thing is Dr Armogam and staff is professional, after surgery follow up is great, well organised place, no time wastage.

isuke YT

Avoid at all cost. If you want someone to take care of your eyes and take your inquiry seriously, please please please go somewhere else. I usually schedule as early as possible (6 AM) so I do not really have problems with waiting time. However, it is the doctors that bothers me for the past 5 years with OCC eyecare. If you get 5 minutes talking with any doctor there (not assistants), you are already lucky. For my 5 years experience with them, doctors most likely spend 1-2 minutes with you then you are rushed out of the doctors' door, gotta get your eyes scanned. Then you go upstairs get next appointment scheduled. That is it. "Everthing looks fine, see you in 6 months." Dont really answer any questions you have with your eyes, all they want is the money from our government per visit. I heard that one doctor there billed OHIP for 128 laser treatments in one day.

Don Egan

Great results!!! I went from legally blind in my left eye to 20/50 over night. After the surgery in my right eye I have 20/20 vision. I have diabetes and as a result Dr. Armogan keeps an "eye" on my care with regular follow ups. ????

paul mcivor

Dr. Argoman's approach was persistent, innovative and leading edge. The facility is world class and very efficient. Likely the best vision care you could receive is right in Mississauga.

Milena Donovan

Pathetic experience, my mother is 90 years old and they made her wait 2 hours because she forgot her OHIP card but had her number, then charged her $205 to see the Dr. UNACCEPTABLE

Barry Armstrong

Intelligent group of "professionals", and "experts" however appointments mean nothing. Upon arrival they will provide a brochure stating that wait times maybe 1-3 hours. I was basically there for 10-15 minutes of exams (field vision test, quick eye exam and follow up with Dr.), however it took over 3.5 hrs to complete due to 45+ minutes of waiting before each step. Its absolutely mind boggling how disorganized and inefficient this place is.

Andrew Thomas

OCC was recommended to me when I went in for a routine eye exam and I have been here a few times over the last two years. I have had no issues but I must say my reasons for going is mainly preventative and to monitor a situation and not for anything major. That being said my appointments are always fairly quick. Like most have said, the appointment time doesn't really matter as it will take at least an hour to see the doctor. However, you may have other tests administered by staff throughout, so the wait does not seem as bad. Also there is no free parking anywhere nearby as it is located in a very industrial sort of area. So the only option is to pay $4 for parking or take transit. Upon arrival, you check in with the front desk where you register and present your health card. Then you sit and wait in a somewhat small and usually crowded waiting area. Then you're called up to verify your basic information and your health card is returned. Then after another wait, eye drops are administered and you are directed to go downstairs. After another wait, you are called to a room at least once (possibly more times) for eye tests. The final wait is for the doctor. I have been seeing Dr. Armogan. He seems knowledgeable, is very friendly and professional. My visits are usually 5 to 10 minutes since thankfully, I don't have anything major going on. Finally, another wait for a final set of tests after which you are directed to go upstairs to book a follow up appointment. There you present the appointment slip and wait once more before being called up to schedule said appointment. There are complaints about the processing system but I think it's fine. Some may feel it's not as personal but I think it is very efficient. They can't process everyone upon arrival at the counter because there would be a very long line and terrible congestion. I also find it wise to have other staff perform more routine examinations just as is done at a family doctor's office. I would rather get these done throughout while waiting 60 minutes than waiting an entire 60 minutes to do these tests and then seeing the doctor. My two cents. Yes there is guaranteed to be a long wait of an hour and possibly more but I usually have to wait at my family doctor's office so this was not unexpected. Like I said, thankfully I don't have any major issues so my experience may differ from others.

Alberto Russo

Too many people. I had to wait more than 3 hours. The doctor didn't even check my 2 eyes...

Kathy Wood

Fast and efficient. Dr. ALI is saving my sight

Andre Gopiechand

Both; I, Andre and my mother; Eva are patients at OCC and it has been a pleasure to have dealings with Dr. Armogan and Dr. Yan. Both doctors are very professional, polite and treat us with patience and dignity along with their vast knowledge of their profession. At times the facility can be crowded; but keep in mind that there a limited amount of doctors in Ontario who do what these doctors practice. As a result there is a vast backlog of patients, so to deal with all concerned they have to institute a hectic schedule. Imagine if you or a loved one need their expertise and had to wait longer because they were not on this schedule. The OCC have an amazing amount of staff and all are very capable but there are a couple of stand outs; Alice and Joseph. We interact with these two staff members on a regular basis and it has been our pleasure to have dealt with them. We are grateful to have them as a part of caregiver support staff. I would recommend my family members and friends to this facility. As fact, other family members and friends are patients of this establishment. The location is close to the major highway arteries and there is ample amount of parking.

Crystal Ramkissoon

The mangement is horrible, the human resourses people are rude, they don't wanna listen to what you have to say.

You wait for 3 months to get 30 seconds from this doctor (Kwesi McGuire) who is not interested in looking at your history. Once he thinks he's done looking at you, you are invisible to him from that point on and you better get out of the room because you won't get any of your questions answered. I wish I saw other comments about this doctor before going to him or to this clinic. Oh and by the way, the front desk staff isn't any different, you can learn how to be rude from them, they would be great teachers on that. You call them, they say they don't have access to your appointment history and they can pass the message to the team which has the access and that they would call back in a week! I guess they went to schools where no one taught them to say things like 'Thanks for calling' or 'Have a good day'... probably they don't want patients to call them, who knows what's wrong with these people? And I totally agree with other comments about this place being a factory. Only someone who has never seen a factory from inside would say that it's not!

Judith Aussem

Their care and knowledge is second to none however they really need to address their scheduling problems. The "wait time" would cripple any other business but they manage to get people back because they're so darn good. My suggestion is to take a book/something to do, a lot of patience, and a snack!

I was working in a medical field for over 30 years but never had similar experience like we did in this clinic. Covid just make it even more difficult. From the moment you are in , it feels like you are processed in assembly line, pushing you from one place to another. No explanations just seat here and go there and nobody to ask. No internal communication and if I would manage to ask somebody , they wouldn’t know and just show me where to sit down. If appointment was for me , wouldn’t stay 5 minutes. After all the tests were done , again (after only 3 weeks from first visit) they send us to finally see the Doctor .. we thought. We spend almost 2 hours waiting on the empty floor, no staff or anybody around to check if you are on right space. Visit with Dr was very short, not sure how knowledgable he is because he gave my husband medication that is not suitable for his medical condition. At the end we went to our Optometrist who gave us different picture with right answers and will send us to another Ophthalmologist. It was very unpleasant experience , waste of time specially during pandemic Wouldn’t recommend it.

Maya R

Worst over the phone service. You can never get a hold of anyone,, even if there is an emergency you still have to leave a message. Needed a form to be faxed to my Dr's office urgently.. was transferred afew times through the receptionist but no one was available to help. I called about 10 time to get a hold of someone but still wasn't successful and did not receive any help. The Receptionist was also useless. Although I explained my situation she was still not willing to find a solution. They definitely need to work on their over the phone communication with patients.

Sarah Hanna

The worst clinic you could go to , I always wait for at least two hours ,and then the doctor does not give time to listen to the complaint you came for , could simply tell you do not have time for you, also they will try to grab as much money as they can adding to that paying for parking . Not honest place.

Leo

This is not a review of the doctors. Chaotic, crowded, full of coughing seniors and no caution to social distancing what so ever. No parking available and people are forced to the streets prone to $100 parking bills. There is also no way you can get seen at the time you are booked for. I highly recommend against this place.

Kasia Wsciubiak

I went to the clinic to do my eye test , the lady on the front desk was not professional, also I do not like there policy I went there to do eye test as a private patient and I was paying for my test cash, NO OHIP. Beside that the lady told me that if I want my result I have to pay another $35 for three pages , she said is administration fee. The manager was rude to me when I start to ask why I have to pay for something what I already paid ? She said to me that if I want for free they can send the test to my visual specialist but that will take up to 4 weeks ( that took 6 weeks) . I do not recommend.

PROXER

Don't waste your time, here. You're better off driving somewhere else 90 mins away, because I have consistently been waiting 3 hours from my appointed time before I get to see Dr. Kosaric. He doesn't even ask me why I'm there, then tells me things are fine and shuffles me out before I can even tell what the problems are. Go anywhere else.

I have never seen a medical facility like this in my life. Not only do the staff members act like robots, but they also treat their patients like a car on an assembly line. The ophthalmologist is arrogant, 10 seconds on split light for right eye, another 10 seconds for the left one, then 2 phrases and he dismisses you without answering any of your questions.

There are not enough stars to show how much I appreciate everyone that works so very hard to make this place run so well. I was at risk of losing sight in my right eye. I was referred to Dr. Armogan by my well trusted optometrist. Like most people, I researched this specialist before deciding to go to my appointment. Of course you first see all the negative reports. I have never been one to follow others and prefer to make my own decisions based on experiences. So I decided to continue based on the trusted referral. You will experience doubt - especially when you see the number of patients that are at the clinic. There is a reason it is busy. These professionals are (my opinion) the very best of the best! Because it is busy, you may wait longer than you think is necessary. But you have to understand that excellence takes time. I have read that some believe that not enough time was spent with their diagnosis (by the doctor). If you understand that they are ALL specialists in their field, then they are simply not going to take long to know what they must do for each and every case they review. If further testing and verification of your particular case is needed - they do that too. From start to finish, it is sometimes a scary process. Mine was scary as I needed surgery to correct my issue. The confidence, and level of care exhibited by my doctor was the only reason I decided to proceed (in spite of my being scared). I was carefully advised of all the potential risks involved but followed my faith in the Doctor's experience, confidence and professional manner and decided to proceed. It is now just under three months since my surgical procedure. My optometrist has commented on the high degree of success that resulted from my surgery. My eyesight continues to improve every day and is almost back to the best it ever has been. My job and life would have definitely been negatively affected without the help of Dr. Armogan and his professional team of specialists. If you need help with your eyesight, do NOT compromise yourself. Get the very best care you can. OCC carries my highest recommendation. All you have to do is be prepared to be patient. They refer to us as "patients" so do your part and display some. If you don't have any patience, then find a clinic that is not busy,. Remember though, OCC is busy because it is the best. Your wait will be worth it. Those that post negative reviews have done themselves a disservice and potentially prevent others from getting the best medical care available. In my case, the destination (successful surgery) was worth every part of the journey. I am sincerely grateful to every single person that was involved in my care. They were all extremely good at what they do. To Dr. Armogan, my sincere Thank You! will never be enough. We are very fortunate to have this world class eye care clinic available so close to home.

The OCC clinic is quite the operation. Very busy but extremely efficient and the Doctors are amazing and top of their fields. I had a detached retina in my left eye when we were working in Nunavut and had emergency surgery in Winnipeg. After returning to Toronto I was sent to the OCC for checkups and have been a patient of Dr. Armagon's ever since. I had another detached retina in my right eye and Dr. Armagon performed emergency surgery within a couple of hours of calling the clinic. Since then I have had lens replacement done at the clinic and can now see without eyeglasses after wearing them for over 50 years. Thank you Dr. Armagon and the great care of the OCC.

Worse place because of waiting. They are never on time with appointments, I don't know why they book appointments. Every time they came up with lame excuses. Supporting staff need to be train.

They hired incompetent attendants that don't care at all. She didn't even care at all about her job and squirted dilation drops in my eye while spilling most of it on my face and ran off and didn't even give me tissues. I was told I would get surgery done today but instead it's another consultantation! the third one!!! And now a fourth consultation with the doctor had been assigned! Doctors are just milking health cards and wasting government money and there is no one to check up on it.

My mother went to OCC because she was referred by her optometrist because she had narrow glaucoma and there was too much pressure on her eyes. When Dr. Armagon was done with the laser surgery my mom went home. As time went on she had extreme dry eyes even though she was constantly using eyedrops and was in constant discomfort. She made an appointment to go see him again to discuss why she is having such dry eyes and when she got in the room with him he seemed in such an incredible rush. He made her feel uncomfortable to ask any more questions which would keep him there longer. He must have spent no more than 10 seconds with her and was rushing her out the door so he could move on. Incredibly rude, and I really don't know why he has any good reviews at all. And I agree with the other reviewers, it is like an assembly line. No personal care to make the patient feel comfortable or answer their questions.

Where to start? I suppose, the small waiting area, where your journey will begin...well, once you figure out parking given they charge for it and even surgical patients will potentially be stuck across the street..this in an industrial area. But, back to the waiting area, the first anyway. The area is small and is not equipped with a PA, so the receptionists call out over the loud room and some have tiny voices making me feel sorry for the many seniors present. Next, although the waiting space is small for the number of patients they schedule they have crammed in two floor to ceiling aquariums. These are very pretty to look at..but rather absurd given the small space and the fact everyone there is there because of vision issues.. Continuing the absurdity, the bannisters and guards to prevent people falling down the stairs are made of untinted, transparent glass. Which of course makes perfect sense within an optical clinic. As do the forms they have you fill out which are printed in tiny, 3 point font, presumably to save paper..sorry, money for more profit. Legible forms for people with visual difficulties? Nah, lets save those pennies so we can make more dough! It gets better as you proceed into the second waiting area, where signs simultaneously tell you cell phones are not permitted and provide you with the Wi-Fi password. Sounds legit..note that the Wi-Fi does not work so you will be seeing Just For Laughs on endlesss repeat, interspersed with ads for OCC and trivia about eyes. The entire place has the feel of a factory farm. You WILL wait for 3 to 4 hours to see a doctor for 5 minutes or less. Everyone is harried, there is no chance to ask questions etc. Avoid this place if you can. It is tacky and tasteless as though Pablo Escobar opened a optical clinic. These doctors just want that sweet OHIP money, they could care less about their patients. If it were possible I would give this place 0 stars.

We discovered OCC at a very low point in our lives. My Mom had just had some serious health issues and had a bleed in her eye which was threatening to steal the last bit of sigh that she had remaining. The first visit to OCC was a bit overwhelming. We had certainly not expected such a large operation but we were comforted by the efficiency of the admission and pre-testing process. Once we met Dr. Armogan, we knew we were in good hands. Dr. Armogan moves quickly from office to office but somehow has the time to interact on a "human" level with his patients and their families. He made us feel comfortable, involved and more importantly, like we were in very good hands. He explained what he was looking for during his exam, what his plan was for treatment and what outcome we could expect. We also saw Dr. Gil who was just as competent and comforting. The process took time and involved several treatments but I am confident that the interventions of Dr. Armogan and the staff at OCC gave my Mom the best possible outcome. Thank you.

Mr. Sharma

great service, awsome staff, clean place, doesnt feel like boring doctor office,,

This is a very efficient clinic with effective treatments and outstanding system in place. Dr. Armogan is an amazing doctor. Every effort has been made to make sure your visit is a pleasant one.

Carolyn Vail

I have been a patient of OCC since 2007 and if it were not for Dr. Armogan, I would have lost the vision in my right eye, and likely both eyes. From my first day up to my most recent appointment, I have been treated with care and compassion by the doctors and the staff at the clinic. Dr. Armogan, although extremely busy, takes the time during my check-up to ask about me and my family. In fact, my mother recently had some issues with her eyes and we made sure she was referred to Dr. Armogan. There is no better Dr. I could recommend if you have eye issues that you need taken care of. I am very lucky that my Optometrist is also a patient of Dr. Armogan's and when my issues first came about, he referred me letting me know this was one of the top Doctor's in North America. He was right! I am very grateful to the Doctor's and Staff at the OCC for what they have done and continue to do for me and my vision.

Ron Hudson

If I could give this place a zero, I would. A total assembly line. Rude staff. Treated like a cog in a machine. One really nice person at the front desk - that's it. No consideration for the emotional fragility of their patients. The second worst experience I have ever had in a medical facility. The first was when I was first diagnosed the day after I lost the vision in my right eye - at the same clinic but at a different location. I had a valve replacement three years ago. The staff at the Mississauga Trillium were literal saints by comparison. As for the doctor, I won't mention his name but I hadn't even gotten out of the chair and he was off to the next patient. This seems endemic to these public/private eye care institutions. Thanks Doug and Christine, bang-up job.

Andrew Brunner (Höff)

I can not express how thankful we are are to OCC and the team for restoring my mother's eyes to perfect vision. I have not experienced healthcare at this level of care. The team at OCC is so compassionate with their elderly patients, they really take time to get to know their patients. I would like to specifically thank Dr. Gill for being so kind and caring. If the fuel that runs healthcare is compassion, then you are in good hands at OCC. Thank you Dr. Gill for being the most incredible healthcare practitioner I have ever met. You are truly an amazing human being. OCC Eyecare is a 5⭐++ facility and eye care team.

Ed Younglai

I have been to the Burlington and Mississauga clinics of OCC Eyecare a total of five times and every time I felt as if I was in an assembly line in a factory before seeing Dr Armogan and Dr Ali. I am a retired University Professor so it was difficult to comprehend a patient care centre operating in such a fashion. I was even asked to have a $120 non OHIP funded test done which did not seem necessary. On the fourth occasion I was literally pressured to have vitrectomy for my vitreomacular defect at a cost of over $3000 not covered by OHIP. Even the consent form handed to me was already witnessed and signed. I elected to have a second opinion. When I finally agreed to the surgery I was informed that I was no longer a patient of the OCC because I had refused surgery the first time it was offered. I am happy that I was refused because I have since seen another ophthalmologist and a vitrectomy surgeon and both of them agreed that only a conservative approach is required at this point in time.

I'm writing this review as I'm waiting for the Doctor to arrive. We had an arranged appointment for 9:30 and we have been waiting for the doctor for an hour and a half. The doctor isn't even in the building. This isn't an emergency hospital, there is no reason to be waiting longer than 10 minutes. I'm extremely disappointed with the service here and the arrogance of the doctor.

Heidi

This place is probably good for someone who has had an emergency and needs a quick diagnosis. However, if you have a chronic issue or need a thorough evaluation this is definitely not the place. You do get a feeling of an assembly line and herding cattle here. However, the staff is very friendly and nice. They tape your mask to your face which was unexpected, extremely uncomfortable and not for those who suffer from anxiety or claustrophobia. I saw Dr. McGuire who seemed ok. At the time my eyes were not irritated as I had waited 3 weeks for an emergency appointment. He spent about 10 seconds on each eye and advised that I have dry eye and provided a pamphlet on lid care. I have since had another terrible flare up that basically debilitates me and I have had to make an appointment at a different clinic to get a thorough evaluation and proper diagnosis.

Grace Chu

My father-in-law has AMD in his right eye and has been attending OCC for a number of years. Thanks to Dr. Armogan's prompt, professional and effective treatment, my f-i-l has gained his vision from 0 to almost 50% in his right eye. We are grateful for Dr. Armogan's excellent ongoing care. Don't worry if you see a lot of patients in the waiting area, you will soon be in one of the assessment rooms in no time. The coordination among all technicians is swift and efficient. The whole team works like a well -oiled engine and waiting time is minimal. Staff are polite and helpful. I would certainly introduce my friends and family to this facility.

Terrible. The girl didn’t even know why I was there. And I feel like it’s a ‘get as many in as you can’ place. I’ve heard it is like a ‘chop shop’ and yes it is. Find a better place. Too many people in there during COVID.

------------------------- Review date 19th Feb 2021 ------------------------ Inside the clinic, it's a hustling and bustling business like a fish market! But you can't call this private clinic as they have a recorded message playing all the time. Only emails are entertained with a 7 day SLA. Wow!!! We cannot wait 7 days for your response. No phone call or messages allowed. What nonsense is this? After our last visit to Dr. Yan for consultation on glaucoma assessment, we were skeptical to proceed with him for the laser procedure due to his arrogant behaviour. I had mentioned to him that my wife doesn't communicate well in English, hence allow me to translate! He rudely told me to stay quiet as she must be able to understand his sign language! While checking her eyes, my wife didn't put her chin properly at the right place despite his sign directions. He held her head from behind and aggresively pulled it closer! We tolerated this unethical behavior and remained polite to ensure no retaliation from him as it was our need to get properly assessed ... Luckily, today, we got to read reviews of Dr. Yan and his cattle like treatment with his patients. He may be a good doctor and an MIT graduate, but all the negative reviews about him can't be wrong! We don't want to judge him based on the reviews. But we want to safeguard ourselves and exercise our option of finding a better doctor based on such terrible reviews of Dr. Yan. I wonder why OCC doesn't take a notice despite years of negative reviews of Dr. Yan? Unlike fellow reviewers, we are taking the decision of not jumping into the fire pit. ------------------------- older review 21st Dec 2020 ----------------------- Hi Folks, I was at OCC Eye Care today 21st Dec 2020, at 2.30pm, along with my wife who was rescheduled second time for laser eye procedure. I was assured the clinic is following strict compliance measures, and I thought to myself, why not!! After all, COVID is transmitted through mouth, nose and eyes... A loud speaker was placed in the parking lot with loud announcements how all patients must adhere to social distancing and related compliance announcements. Right before entering the main glass door, there is a small tent where patients are supposed to complete a questionaire asking about health issues etc... Red lines were drawn every 6 feet. Everything looked perfect as it should be. However, surprisingly no one was outside in the tent which looked a bit odd, yet pleasing to the eye thinking there would be less patients inside... However, to our utter shock, as we entered the front glass door, we were surprised to see at least 20+ patients crammed up within approximate 8' x 15' reception area. It would be safe to say that patients were within 1-2 feet of each other. My jaw dropped in total shock and anger! The lady wearing a shield mask, apparently totally oblivious to the situation welcomed us and asked if we had filled the questionaire. Apparently, she was just doing her job. It was the scene at a fish market. We couldn't stay at such a poorly managed place for one bit. She shared our feelings of dismay, but had a perfectly tailored message for us. "I am just doing what I am told to do". My wife and I left the clinic. On my way out, I called Peel Public Health non compliance reporting hot line to report the clinic and wanted to share a few pics of what we saw with the compliance inspector. A lady, apparently also just doing her job introduced herself as a compliance inspector. We reported the entire incident to her and she listened patiently... At the end of it, she said, " we don't interfere with doctors clinics or where there is a medical practice. I was very shocked by her response. I was asked to call the College of Physicians and surgeons who will look into the matter. All of a sudden, it felt that this whole thing was my responsibility to find the right people and make complaints . Unfortunately, the only option I had was to write this review, hoping that someone with authority or having the right contacts, would be able to escalate the matter..

I have been going to this location for many years and have always been satisfied with the service, the doctors and the staff. I highly recommend that everyone turn to this location for all of their ophthalmologist eye care.

Naomi Lisa

Dr. Kosaric is the best doctor I ever had. He goes above and beyond! If it wasn't for him I would have never discovered I had a brain tumour. I can not thank him enough and my thanks is long over due. Also thank you staff and other Drs who have helped me with all my eye problems that I was having. Love, Naomi Schlett♡. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Bushra Al Sarraj

Sad excuse for a private clinic. Wait times are upwards of 2 hours. Wifi doesn't work - so not much to do. You have to pay for parking - even though you're in an industrial area - and today it was CLOSED off. If you can go anywhere else do it. This doctor will bill OHIP twice and still charge you 500 dollars to remove a chalazion.

Sandi Martin

I had a vitrectomy in 2011 and have been returning for regular checkups ever since, and am continually amazed at how organized the patient flow is. Clearly, a lot of thought has been put into the best way to move a large number of people from all sorts of backgrounds through the system as quickly and efficiently as possible. I can see why a first visit might be intimidating, but the process is always the same, so repeat visitors know exactly what to expect. (Helpful, since most of us have impaired vision.) I have nothing but praise for and confidence in Dr. Armogan's skill and the skill and good nature of the other doctors and support staff. I've never had a bad experience there, unless you count the fact that I had to have a vitrectomy in the first place. I'm looking forward (well, as much as one can, anyway) to cataract surgery soon, and - like anyone who is referred to OCC should - count myself lucky to have access to it.

Great care and very professional service provided by Doctor's and all the staff members during and after the eye surgeries for both my parents. Thanks to Dr Armogan, Dr Gill and their team.

My wife Linda has been seen by Dr. Armogan for many years for serious retinal disease. She has been seen by other specialists but Dr. Armodan has been the best. She had cataract surgery to both eyes with great results. She continues to be monitored for her retinal problems. The staff are helpful and friendly and all of her concerns are always addressed. We appreciate the care she receives and will continue to attend the clinic. The set up assures that the doctors are not doing routine test and procedures, but seeing and assessing patients.

Jisoo Joy Kim

One of the worst healthcare service experience. Irrespective of patients; from receptionists, nurses, to doctors. I came almost at the end of the clinic hours and I felt as though I needed to be rushed out of this place because they needed to go home. They did not fully explain the procedures that they were performing to me until I asked. I’m not asking for excellent customer service, but I just want to be informed of the services that I am receiving.

Stana Havova

I would like to say Thank you to Dr. Armogan and the team at OCC. I was referred by optometrist for Glaucoma. He is very good at his job! He explained everything and I found him very empathic. He done my laser procedure to prevent vision loss. It worked and it's a huge relieve. I want to celebrate all the research, technology and amazing knowledge that goes hand in hand to treat us. Cheers!

Thomas George

The lady assistants pretty much behave like they are the doctors and have a rough and a brazen attitude. Seriously, they do need to take some courses in customer service. I just felt like shouting at the lady who did my field vision test today. She was miffed that I got up after finishing my field vision test. She whined that the machine would not have saved the test, that I should not have gotten up on my own (why did you not tell me that at the beginning, lady?), blah and blah.

Always in a hurry, looks like they do not even right down anything? Rude staff, they charge for parking. This place is a mess, try somewhere else.

Dr Armogan is the most arrogant, egotistical person I have encountered in a medical situation. I have no doubt his practical skills are some of the best, however his manner leaves a lot to be desired. Trying to get answers and a little information was impossible, he talks over you and only refers to written information that was given to you at various stages in the process. All the staff have been trained in the same manner and read most of the information to you by rote, therefore they are not able to deviate from their script to answer questions. Their manner of speaking to you is demeaning. When making decisions regarding lenses, it is not a doctor nor a qualified personnel but they are the ones recommending you a product. At this stage it’s all about how much you will pay. My situation has resulted in paying for a lense, which I was led to believe would correct a astigmatism. At no time did anyone indicate that this lense might not correct it, which it hasn’t. There should be a refund if this happens. The result is that I now have to wear glasses to get the vision I want. I understand there are no guarantees but each time I tried to tell Dr Armogan that my vision was blurry he never listened nor admitted that the problem was that the lense never corrected the astigmatism. All the appointments never gave me any satisfactory information purely because no one listens to you once they have your money and all the money from OHIP for all the wasted appointments and time wasted. After surgery you never get a one on one appointment with the doctor, only in a testing room filled with other patients. I would definitely not recommend this clinic unless you want to be treated like cattle. Surely in this day and age there are better facilities to get this treatment done.

My Optometrist Dr sent me to an Retina specialist at OCC because I was having issues with focus and was seeing flashes. However, my trip to OCC was such a disappointment to say the least. The whole process of registration and getting ready was a little chaotic but okay and all the support staff did a reasonably good job. Then came the session with the doctor. One would expect a much more thorough examination by a “specialist” and yet on the contrary, it was over before one could say Bob is your uncle. My Optometrist did a much more detailed examination and explained to me what is going on with my eye. She sent me to a specialist to ensure à even more in depth look. It took several weeks to get an appointment, but in less than a minute I was done. The Dr came in to my room while still talking to the patient in the other room. I had to ask more questions as I got the sense he was ready to go to the next patient. I mean really, is this the kind of patient care you get from this place? I felt like I was on a conveyer belt in a factory.

Ray Gear

The people are first class, they have helped me with my vision to the point that I am able to see the same as it was before my incident. Their expertise and patience to help understand what is happening is second to none. 30 plus laser treatments is more than acceptable to maintain my vision for as long as possible. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Robert Dabrowski

Stay away from this place. Bad experience, bad services, not professional at all ! It should be closed and all personnel fired.

Marilou de Vera

I've been going to this clinic for years now - I am diabetic and I need laser treatment for my eyes. I find Dr. Armoggan very professional; knowledgeable and warm - you will not be scared at all - you will feel that you're in good hands. Dr. Armoggan and his team are the best to say the least. You will not believe how many patients they treat everyday - but the flow of traffic is so quick - unbelievably smooth - from start to finish! I highly recommend this clinic.

cindy sturge

I have had 2 eye surgeries done by Dr. Armagon. I am so pleased with his expertise. He is a kind, caring man with a really good sense of humour. The staff have always been efficient and helpful. I always leave my visits feeling confident that I am in the best of care.

PULIN PATEL

All precautions to maintain social distancing and health safety of all patients, visitors and staff are in place . Even with restrictions, services are being offered smoothly.

About 18 moths ago, I underwent surgery for a detached retina. Every 2 - 3 months, I visit the Centre and am working with Dr. Armogan and his staff. I have found the staff to be efficient and well organized in view of the fact that there are high numbers of patients on any given day. I am extremely satisfied with the results of my operation and am able to see much better than was expected. I would highly recommend OCCI for any serious eye issues. The resources that are available whether printed, televised, etc. is top-notch.

PLEASE GO AND GET A SECOND OPINION! This clinic is here for your money and cares very little about your health. Trying to get in touch with this facility is ridiculous. You can only contact them via email about any questions you have. How is this access to healthcare? When the only form of communication is through email. Majority of their patients are older or elderly and do not know how to send emails or communicate via email. Majority of communication is through telephone or cellphone and this form of communication should not be cut out. My father has had a horrible experience with this facility. They are overbooked and wait times are ridiculous. The receptionist, after my father’s appointment forgot to fill out important paper work and I have to run back to the clinic to fill it out. Important information about my father was not sent over to his family doctor. if you care about your parents, grandparents, friends, and family members please do not come here. If I could give them 0 stars I would!!

Worst eye care unit ever, long wait periods and appointments are given when the problem is multiple or beyond control. Dr.Ali has no explanations just checks and lets you go without any discussion of your problem....horrible attitude and most unprofessional approach. No one should come to this hideous facility

jaswinder sekhon

Believe or not the best service in doctor’s clinic I’ve received since I’ve been in Canada. God Bless ????

T Chau/M Devlin

Good care, thorough, helpful staff. I was quite concerned after reading some of the other reviews, but I had a good experience with Dr. Kosaric. They are very busy and high volume, so you don't get the handholding that you get from your long time family optometrist or doctor, but I found that I was told what I needed to know. I thought the examination was very thorough. Dr. Kosaric spent 10-15 minutes examining my eyes when I first saw him, explained what he found. At the 2nd appt, I was expecting to meet with Dr. for only a minute or 2 to tell me results of tests from the appt but he spent 5+ minutes with me twice during the appt. Wait times were reasonable. I didn't experience any of the long waits others reported. I had 3 appointments within 1 week and at each appointment the first round of tests were started within a few minutes of my appointment time. Each appt required 1-2 hrs total time but I had 3-4 separate tests/exams at each appt. I'm giving 4 stars because I believe 5 stars means no room for improvement, which is a standard rarely met.

Mina Antoneli

The treating is very poor, my family Dr. ask them for my eyes report the management told my Dr. that she has to pay money to be able to send the report to the Dr. what kind of hospital is that.

Jas Kohli

I have been visiting OCC eyecare for few years now. Dr Armogan is really knowledgeable and I am pleased with my experience. It is always good to be treated with professionalism and care . Dr Armogan and the entire team at OCC eyecare do a great job! Wait times are less and staff is really efficient!

Ken Stone

I have to sing the praises of Dr. Armogan and the Mississauga OCC Inc. to the skies. Not only did Dr. Armogan save the sight in my right eye by deftly using laser surgery to repair my torn retina, he also removed my cataracts and supplied me with state-of-the-art high tech lenses which almost restored my vision to 20/20. The lens were expensive but they were worth it! I now have fabulous night vision! In addition, Dr. DeAngelis operated on my right lid to raise it up better to cover and lubricate the eye. The Centre staff keeps an eye on me (so to speak) by having me come back every four to six months for checkups. Furthermore, I know that I will be slotted into a queue upon arrival and probably out the door again in about an hour. What more can I say!!!

Aubrey Major

I was at the clinic last week. There was an older woman who was crying, her husband had died recently and she was used to coming to the office to see the doctor with him. The lady who works there remembered both the patient and her late husband and was talking to her in consoling tones. When the lady was called to see doctor she was in the room for a long time and when she came out she was very happy and laughing. She was telling the doctor as she left the room how she’s her favorite doctor and how great it is to see her. So many people in the waiting room started talking about how great the doctor is, how she is their favorite doctor and how kind and patient she is. When my mom died the doctor called and spoke with me and sent me hand written note and my mom is not her patient. I don’t think there is a better doctor or a better person out there.

Bruce Wilson

I have been with the Centre and under Dr. Armogan's care for a few years now. I find the facility is top notch and his care really is above average. Highly recommended.

Howto Matthew

Very unprofessional staff with no empathy. Came here with my mother for a very early appointment. They took my mom's Ohip and did her eye drops. We waited for over an hour only for them to quietly pull us to a side and tell us Dr. McGuire had an "emergency " and could not make it in! They then said in the most insincere way "you have two options, rebook or wait for the only other doctor available ". We spoke to the manager and he said that the Dr. McGuire was supposed to be there at 7am. Why did they waste our time to notify us at 830am?! They just wanted people to have their ohip billed with their company and doctor! They didn't even announce it to the rest of the patients waiting. So unprofessional! We then had to wait over an hour for the next eye doctor because he was "running behind " already. Save yourself the stress and don't go to this unorganized place of misfits!

Renata Dziecielski

I've been a patient in this clinic for 10 years. I received nothing but excellent care from Dr.Armogan and Dr. Kosaric. Very well organized clinic. Appointment always on time and available for my convenience.

Dr. Armogen is the best at what he does, If you're serious about fixing your eyes I would highly recommend his services.

Doctor Armogan has been treating me for a number of years for a very serious eye condition, and I have always found him and his staff to be highly professional and courteous. The clinic is meticulously clean and very well organized. I would highly recommend Doctor Armogan to anyone in need of eye care. Mary O'Connor

They were very nice and took care of my every need in a timely manner. Also the staff was just incredible and did everything they could to help me in getting/finding what and who I needed. That is all I have to say besides keep up the good work and God Bless you all.

Dhia Yousif

The arrangement was so organized

I have been going to the Ophthalmic Centre for many years and have watched it grow. I know it seems like there are too many people when you arrive but I have always been taken through their process surprisingly fast. The care you get, I believe is top in the world. Dr. Armogan has helped me greatly with my Macular Degeneration. I have gone from having injections every month to now having not had one in 14 months. My sight is holding nicely and I would not trust my eye care with any other doctor.

Gowrysangar Sitha

Five years ago I had severe eye problems. Dr. Armogan performed multiple laser treatments and two cataract surgeries for both eyes. I admire Dr. Armogan’s patience and the support he has shown me during these difficult times. Today I can see well and live my life confidently. Thank you Dr. Armogan and his team.

I was transferred here years ago as due to failed surgeries , amazingly Dr Armogan able to restored my vision without further treatment, as well as Dr Kosaric his detail care prevent my vision getting worse, it's a great hi tech eye care place !

Linda Cowan

Dr. Armagon and staff are excellent. His care has always been of the highest quality. He ensures that I understand my condition and the procedures that I undergo. I completely trust his skill and knowledge.

Matthew Lee

The owner of OCC eyecare is THE highest billing doctor in Ontario, but they way the staff treats patients is disgusting. $4 parking for customers!

Elizabeth Henry

I have been impressed with the quick and efficient process for prepping patients to see their doctor. However, I always feel rushed when the doctor comes in and quit often feel I am imposing on the doctor's time if I ask questions. But for the most part have had good experiences at the Centre in Mississauga.

Margaret Oke

I have been with this eye clinic for many years and I have only the best to say about the whole Clinic. There professional approach to every aspect of your visit I could never complain. Sometimes you are a little longer in there but you have to realize the amount of patients they see, My main Dr.'s are Dr. Gil Dr. Armagon and Dr. Ali. They are the best. Thank you all of you

Anukta Philip

It is unfortunate that I have to share this, but my experience continues to be poor. I did my test in Feb and instead of giving me back to back appointments for follow up with the doctor, they gave me another day to once again go back to this environment in the middle of a Pandemic. I requested a phone consult, and no one came back to me for a long time. And now I get an appointment after back and forth with them, two months later, where they want me to take the test again and pay for it. I seriously do not understand this complete incompetence . Needless to say, I don't think I can come back here

Aman Mahal

wonderful people , specially dr armogan

Thank you to Dr. Armagon and his very efficient staff for an excellent experience in eye care. Their service is quick ,friendly and professional. Their follow up appointments ensure that your investment in eye corrective matters is tracked in a timely manner. I look forward to a continued involvement with OCC and my eye care in the future.

2 stars for the facilities they offer like excellent neatness, extra clean washrooms and so on. They do have lot of staffs to take you here and there...to be frank it's just a matter of business and money. I spend over 2 hours there 1.99 hours waiting and last one minute seeing the doctor ..he did not even took 1 minute with me ..all he said is " I am Dr Ali , how are you doing ..your eyes are fine ...not satisfied . Anyway I heard that they are a great team of doctors..wish you guys all the best

Dr. armagon or whatever his name is the worst doc ever. So rude and full of himself. He always rushes you and never gives u a chance to ask questions.

Jenny Mercado

I’ve made up my mind. Yesterday, will be my last visit. I cannot see any doctor’s concerns from him. Been in this clinic for 4 years. I came there yesterday to realized that I was just wasting my time to Dr Ali. He will only ask me to open my eyes and that’s it. Really? its not even a minute? Common man my visit wasn't a joke. He’s doing this asking just to open my eyes. You’re being paid for that? I know you mastered your job already by asking us to open our eyes, I think you’re sick and tired of your job. I came there to feel that my health is important, but thats what i got? Too much to come back to see this doctor. Its a waste of time.

Todd McAlary

Dr. Armogan performed a series of 7 treatments to repair damage to my left retina. He is very skilled, professional, efficient and his staff all function very effectively. I was especially impressed with their Covid-19 protocols, enhanced ventilation, automated sign-in system and throughput.

Sean Bryce

Great service! Dr. Armogan's diagnosis and treatment was accurate and effective. Follow up appointments confirm his attention to detail. I would definitely refer him to family and friends.

samirdaniela

For the love of god.. don't make Dr. Armogan make you cataract surgery..my mom did her surgery with him and after 3 year's of pain and suffering we seek it a second opinion and we were told that he used the wrong lenses for her condition...we contact it him to tell him what was wrong with my mom eyes and ask him help her she is 75 years old and cant take the pain any more.... he a banded her and said he is no longer her doctor...we will be seeking legal action!!!!

Heli Wolf

All I can say is that the clinic is first class. My right Eye was saved by Doctor Armagon and I am very grateful for that, I can only recommend this Clinic ,it is top notch.

I've been coming here for my senior father's eye care for 3 years now. Every time the wait times are a minimum of 3 hour. The staff is not professional. I see very old seniors waiting helplessly for hours and there is no apology for the doctors not being in the building as they are running late.

Richard Strus

I have been at OCC for glaucoma and retinal care for many years and have no plans to switch to another clinic. The doctors have been great and I feel confident with the high-quality care they provide. There have been some shortcomings, once not getting a phone call about setting an appointment, and appointments in the past needing made very early or late in the day when traffic congestion is high, so I did not give OCC five stars. But considering I have been returning for over ten years, it's likely that similar minor inconveniences will occur at any clinic over that time frame. In the bigger picture, I feel I've made the right choice to stay with OCC.

Mary Tran

Front desk clerk at occ are extremely rude and unprofessional. There are more then 4 of them in the front not only they don't know what they're doing also took the wrong message. I called the clinic 2 days after my surgery in regards to my blurriness I ask one of the girl if she could ask the dr when he have a minute about my blurriness is that normal or is there anything I can do while I'm waiting to be seen in a week? Someone called back in a week saying they want to book a follow-up appt... so I said I do have appt tomorrow . She sounds confused. I couldn't help myself but to ask the dr when I was there " did you get my message/questions about my blurriness? Dr reply "NO" she only ask for appt. So I confront the girls in the front after my appt. they didn't even try to apologize due to the wrong message they took down all they said was that it wasn't her that I was talking to. Very unprofessional stuffs there. I don't think I would go back ever. Wouldn't recommend anyone go to this place.

Iram Hamid

Worst time to waste here. Been here since 10am April 23 and now its 1pm. Doc sees you for 3 minutes or less. I asked the nurses how long do I have to wait for my turn and I was told 4 people are ahead of me and now theirs been like 10 people who went in and i'm still waiting for my turn.... this place is a waste of time. NEVER ever coming back again....I would give lower then 1 star...Thanks occ

Barbara Casey

Appointment wait times excruciatingly long. Don't seem to be manage time well.

Виктор Савелью

This is the worst clinic I've been to! These are not doctors!

Linda P

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Ladies at front desk are rude and just terrible group of girls. My grandmother was treated with such disrespect i could not believe my eyes. One woman by the name of Tomi was just disgustingly terrible.... She didn't welcome us.. she mumbled for my nanas health card and when my EIGHTY year old grandmother couldn't hear her she yelled it rudely at her. I then sat and watched her do the same thing to every poor elderly person who came in after me. If the owner does not take pride in who they employ i will never be back again. Tomi is a scum bag

I have been a patient of Dr Armogan for many years and attend the OCC Eyecare clinic for follow up every 4 months. Staff are caring, friendly and professional and the process for moving through the various phases of care is thorough and very efficient. Since being seen by Dr Armogan and regular follow up appointments with him, he has ensured my eye condition has stabilized and there has been no further deterioration. OCC Eyecare has my strongest recommendation. Keith Hancock.

Ian Malloch

As a fellow health professional, I do not believe that this is how any kind of health care should be provided to patients: the assembly line, the seeming indifference of many of the staff, the lack of explanation of where/when/why one is being sent to one waiting area after another. Seventy minutes after I arrived, I was seen for a 90 second consult, and then the doctor was gone. In the meantime, I was also seen by some sort of technician who administered a glaucoma test (which was not requested as my regular optometrist does this regularly). And they charge for parking in the middle of an industrial area of Mississauga. This seems to be one huge cash cow (but the patients are the ones being treated like cattle). Would not recommend this "enterprise" to anyone who values their dignity.

Abdul Sattar

Very unhappy, Dr. ALI, never book for this doctor, after 6 month appointment, he just gave me less then 2 min, even he did not listen, my eyes problem, and just told me after 6 month again, never will go to visit this doctor again. He wants see 60 patients in 50 minutes. Never recommend this doctor. DR BROWN, was good there, but he retired now.

R R

It is with utter dismay that Dr.Armagon and his staff have become ruthless and insensitive to seniors needs. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour. If you forget your health card they will not call your physicians office to confirm your number. Instead they’ll charge you for the visit. They never answer the phone nor return calls. The staff, especially Alice, needs an attitude adjustment. Btw, if you ever go downstairs with a complaint, they’ll surround you with staff and treat you like a criminal. Dr.Armagon will treat you like a stranger and immediately kick you out instead of resolving a simple complaint. Charging seniors $4 to park is also a form of gouging or double dipping. We will never go to this cold depressive clinic again. Being courteous and kind goes a long way. It’s too bad your success has created a monster.

helen xu

STAY AWAY! The worst clinic we had even been. They have ZERO respect to patient at all. If I could rate for zero, I definitely rate it for zero. They treat patient like products on production line. They booked you for appointment, and keeps you waiting for hours and hours, sitting in the waiting area without any clue at all. Doctors don’t explain to you what’s going on and only give exam and then let you go without explanation.

VRK

Being a bit more professional. They hardly pickup the phones. They are not doing free service, they always have a rational to comeup with a charge.

Bob Sachameno

Better to go blind than get service from these wastemans!

This is the first bad review I'm leaving in all my 28 years of life so that says something. My mom had the absolute worst experience in this clinic. She took the day off of work to get her eyes checked that have been causing her irritation, headache, and dizziness. The doctor did a quick check up (less than one minute) and gave her brochures to take home to read. My mom mentioned the headaches and the doctor dismissively told her 'ask your family doctor'. That was it, no explanation or proper consultation. This appointment was a referral from our family doctor to begin with. She walked out of that clinic feeling like it was a huge waste of time and trip, having gotten no clarity or care for her eyes. We do not recommend this place at all, avoid it if you can.

charlie yang

Dr. Dan DeAngelis did a good job for a small surgery for my mom. It took less than 10 minutes and result is very good. The problem is the waiting time: more than three hours so I had to take the day off. Whatever reasons/excuses they give do not matter, we will try to find another clinic if the waiting time is not improved. Many thanks to Dr. DeAngelis, appreciate your great work. Another issue is the $4 parking fee for this remote location, nowhere close to a hospital or city centre, this kind of location should always be free parking.

Steven Cho

They treat you like a batch of refugees that just arrived in their new countries waiting for their vaccines. Or a flock of sheep being constantly moved from one destination to the other. Like previous reviews depends how busy it is that day but roughly an hour wait and your time with the doctor will be very short. In the end it is a business after all.

Catherine McBean

I felt like a cow being herded along the line. No one introduced themselves apparently per one staff they are NOT ALLOWED. No explaination about tests just tell you do this do that. I am a Medical professional and found Dr. McGuire not so much!! Doesn't seem to care or give the time of day to actually listen to your concerns. Dr. McGuire has a license to print money without the patient care factor. I prefer actual patient Care when seeking issues of my own health. I will find a more professional eye care centre. Apparently they don't read the reviews and no changes have been made based on feedback. Return in 1 year for follow up....not a chance at this place.

Peter Nazar

Very well organized and professional

Brian Orser

I've been going to OCC Eye Care for a few years & still going. Yes, before the pandemic it was crowded at times but that should tell u something about the Dr.'s & the staff's services. I've experienced nothing but respect & care from the entire staff. All the Dr.'s that I've come in contact with have been excellent. 5 star definitely.

John DaSilva

Dr Armogan is very attentive and his staff very efficient. What I don't like now is their new policy for future appointments. Instead of making the appointment on the spot, like they always did, they will now call you a week before to arrange the appointment with you. TERRIBLE IDEA and POLICY!!!!!!!!!!

San R

Iris Leung

I would give zero start if I could. We called ahead and ask if there's available spots today as my mother is haveing concern regarding her conditions. They told us there's a cancelation at 2 and that we could come during that time. We arrived at 2 and waited till 5:30/6 to be seen by the doctor. When we finally meet the doctor, he told us that we shouldn't be here and that we have butted someone and tooke someone's spot. He proceed to look at my mothers eyes for less then a min while tell her she can't do this and that she's fine and come back on her scheduled appointment next time. All the while my mother did not get a chance to explain what her concern was or the reason of her visit. This was not the first time we've visited this facility, everytime we visite, there's a 4-5 hours wait at least. Furthurmore, the doctors are very rude, impatient and super unprofessional. On multiple occasion, they've told my mother that she needs a particular treatment but did not bother explaining to her the side effect and the consequence of the procedure. My mother told me that she felt that her concern was not heard or answered as the doctor would only say you need this procedure, it'll help with your condition and leave. It turns out my mother was having an allergy reaction to the medication they were giving her and since they didn't listen to my mother's concern, my mother continued the treatment for nearly a year before finding out from another doctor in another facility that she's experiencing an adverse effect from that particular medication. This is a poorly run facility and we would have gone to anther facility if there's another choices. To end it, I wish no one would have to experience this facility.

Alojz Moravac

I went to my family doctor with problems with my vision and he referred me to Doctors Armogan and Gill. I was told that my problem was becoming increasingly serious and that if I didn't get attention soon I may loose vision in one of my eyes. Doctor Armogan was very professional and extremely friendly and properly diagnosed and treated my problem. Today I have zero problems and enjoy every day being able to see properly knowing that I won't be worried about loosing my precious eye sight. I would strongly recommend everyone to come to Opthalmic Consultant Centers in Mississauga. The entire staff was amazing.

Anna Fish

I would even give a zero, as this clinic is going far beyond of the government requirements for anti Covid measures. They tape your mask to your face and you have to be like that for more then hour. And they only do it to clients, nobody of the clinic staff has a mask taped to there faces.

Peter Walker

I had initial cataract surgery 4 years ago with Dr. Yan. The results were amazing and the upgraded lens was well worth the money. 2 years ago I tore the retina in the eye that Dr. Yan fixed. Dr. Armogan took one horrified look & immediately started laser treatments with surgery a highly possible necessity. Luckily the laser treatments worked and my vision was restored. . After that I needed cataract surgery in my left eye which Dr. Armogan performed again with amazing results. This time along with the upgraded lens I had it done with the new laser surgery technique. If you have the money I would definitely recommend it. A much better experience than the older traditional ultra sound method. My optometrist always comments on what a beautiful job that Dr. Armogan & Dr. Yan performed on my eyes. I don't think that I would have received better care anywhere else & love the fact that all testing and surgeries can be done in one location. When you add to that a friendly competent staff I feel that if you are going to a clinic that there isn't anything or anyplace that is better. I always recommend the OCC to people experiencing vision problems. Peter Walker

Bob Grabawski

Horrible place. They have five patients in the laser room at the same time, they treat people like animals.

Stef Floro

Manjot Singh

This place is like a factory. First they call u here then their. The female technicians think they are the doctors. The women at the desk are rude and have an attitude. The only good thing about this place is the doctor. Someone should teach the girls at the desk about customer service, and let the female technicians know that they are not doctors!!

Jenna Pozzobon

Professional and talented doctors. Dr. Armogan made me feel comfortable before, during and after my surgery. I feel confident in his professional advice and am very happy with the results 6 months post surgery.

Deborah Gasparini

When I was referred to Dr. Armogan early in 2005 he quickly diagnosed a detached retina in my left eye, immediately performed gas bubble injection and laser surgery, followed by several follow-up laser procedures within the next few weeks. He saved my sight in my left eye for sure. I was very impressed with Dr. Armogan and his staff working efficiently and professionally in a developing environment. Over the years I have seen vast improvements as the OCC facilities have been completed. Dr. Armogan continues to see me every 4 months to monitor both eyes after a vitreous detachment in my right eye, a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and cataracts. I have great confidence in and highly recommend Dr. Armogan and OCC Eyecare.

Michael Jacobs

A miracle. Great surgeon, great staff. Thank you.

Vivian Odo

This clinic is very professional and organized. They flow like an assembly line.I was very impressed and satisfied with the results of my eye care. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Dr. Armagon is wonderful, I would recommend this clinic to all my friends and family. I am in awe of how well everyone treats you just like they really care and are on top on everything. Very thorough. Thank you all so much for all your help Vivian Odo

Adrienne Petro

Stay away from this place. They are not interested in actually diagnosing and treating patient issues. It is a big cash crab. My Mom has SEVERE Glaucoma issues and is loosing her sight. She has been going there for the past 7 months and all that happens is they run a test(s). So far No Dr has provided any diagnosis or treatment /surgery options. They just seem to know how to run tests and charge people for them/or OHIP for them. Very pathetic

Shazia Obaidullah

it was my big mistake to visit OCC eye care I believe it's not a clinic it's farm where they treat people like sheep, almost everybody with rudely behavior. I had some problem in my eyes that's why I visit them but I almost turned disabled. Dr. suggested me after robotic checking drama that I need Cataract surgery I thought the OCC clinic have professional optometrist but OCC low standard robotic clinic gave me 7 or 8 appointments and every appointment got hours of waiting time + 1 min for meeting with Dr .They didn't want to listen my problem and conditions specially Dr Fareed Ali and Dr. Gill. They are interested to complete only 1 or 1/2 min meeting .both of them not concerned with the patient and their problems. I was visiting them but my problem increased day by day I am 100 % sure this is just due to mishandling. I felt blurred with double vision and it made my eye slow I have no idea what can I do for this negligence of OCC clinic. I can't live normal life anymore i have double vision due to that I live in a fear of accident could happen with me in any moment. friends you may have noticed that in their reviews either only five Star or one star was given I think may be the five star from their own staff of OCC clinic because they badly need it (if someone is not agree with my review than I am sorry to the satisfied patients) and one star from help less patients but I will not give one star to this clinic Because they don't deserve any star but I have to go for one star otherwise I can't post it.

Rasha Edris

I was seen by Dr Armogan having been referred to him and waited more than one month to see him, I nearly lost my vision in very short period, i had extensive work up done before coming to consult him to find out the cause of the sudden deterioration of my vision in one eye and I'm only 47ys old. I saw him privately and paid 205$ plus parking wasted an hour and half of my time and I regret seeing him. The pressure if my eye was very high that the lady measured it few times and called someone else to double check. The doctor had very unprofessional attitude, he was talking very fast, didn't understand much of what he said. He was in very much rush, he stayed with me less than 5 minutes, he said it is perminant damage to my eye and can't do anything, Thank god my wife was with me she is a doctor she understood some of what he said he didn't bother to explain anything to me or her what caused the damage and if things will get worse or the other eye will be affected. He refused to give me any treatment or eye drops temporarily for the high pressure in my eye, although I explained that I feel pain and discomfort and heaviness and redness in my eye with the fast progressive vision loss, he only refered to another doctor which I discovered that he will see me 31 of October more than 2 months from now. I feel extremely disappointed and distressed by the fact that it was absolutely useless meeting, I wasted my money and time. I now left alone doesn't know where to go or what to do. Although i read in the previous review that the same doctor has operated on a glucoma patient which means he could have temporarily started me on at least eye drops, he didn't bother to refer me urgent to his colleague either. This was the worst ever horrible doctor and experience that I have to go through in all my life, I've never seen such unprofessional , irresponsible careless attitude towards patients. I strongly recommend no one to go there, I would perhaps cancel all my appointments with them, and never think of going again to that place.

Romy Quiambao

I went to see Dr. Armogan today for my regular follow-up check-up. It was a good, professional and pleasant experience, and was over in less than an hour. OCC was recommended to me by my optometrist many years ago because he discovered I have a macular degeneration inside my eyes. So far it is controlled and checked by Dr. Armogan and no further deterioration is found.

HARDEEP AND RAMAN BRAR

My mother in law had an eyelid surgery last week Friday and we called Monday and it is now Tuesday and no call back. I called again and no one called at Ext 715. We need a follow up appt asap however it will be hard if the clinic doesn't call back.

I have been coming to this location for approx. two years. The staff are extremely efficient and very friendly.I had cataract surgery about a year and a half ago and have follow up laser treatments every couple of months. I have a very good experience each time I attend and the wait time is very good.. Dr Armogan is my Doctor and he is very pleasant and friendly and answers any questions that I might have. However,in saying these positive things about my overall experience, this is not quite how I feel with the reception staff.I phoned in for a follow up appointment on Thursday September 4th and was told that I should have made my follow up appt.the last time I was in.In all the time I have been to this establishment I have NEVER done this and always call closer to the appt.time as I have to have a driver.and this is not easy for me to find. The receptionist said that she would get back to me.She didn't.I called again on Friday September 5th and was told the same thing.I wanted the appt.the week of September 8th.Once again nobody got back to me.I was told that they had to be in touch with Dr.Armogan and this was policy.I am very frustrated as I said that this is the first time I have faced this situation. This is only a follow up appt.I have to work around elderly parents who have numerous appts.I called in when I knew when I was going to have a drive.I was never told that I should make an apt.after my visit.I now have to phone on Monday September 8th and hopefully they will have an answer for me.

I am absolutely outraged with this people, they booked me for a laser surgery, I showed up early, got all the drops required and I waited and waited just to find out they made a mistake, the doctor I was booked with wasn't in until next day and the other 2 doctors refused to do it .. missed work! So many people looking at the file, received emails reminding me of the appointment and NOBODY noticed! Now I have to bother someone AGAIN to come with me and be at work late!!! Unreal!!! So many people and not a slight attention to detail, ya we are in good hands!

Faruk Hasicic

Jaswinder Narewal

My experience with OCC was amazing they took great care of me as their patient. I had catarac surgery for both left and right eye and Dr. N. Armogan took great care of me and did an amazing job.

Andy O

It's quite unfortunate to see a facility like this operate with such poor standards serving patients in our community. On multiple occasions, they have changed the dates / times of confirmed appointments without notifying us. After the first experience of this, we attempted to call a few days prior to the appointment to ensure there were no wrinkles and it was tough to even get a hold of someone. Person we spoke to said "unless you get an email letting you know the appointment is changed, your appointment is still on" -- only to take the day off work, arrive at the facility and then being informed the appointment was cancelled. There is no one picking up their phones and no one seems to have the ball on running this facility and serving our community in a courteous way. As someone else noted, I also think they need to be audited by an independent third party and/or government agency and should be kept closed until they correct their internal communication/operation system and train their supporting stuff. Will be looking into ways to get this invoked so that others in our community can avoid the same issues here.

Ron Levett

I've been a patient of Dr. Narendra Armogan for several years. He is clearly a highly-skilled surgeon, thorough in his work, and has always dealt with me in a friendly, considerate and professional manner. Dr. Armogan has performed two successful cataract surgeries for me and did excellent work in repairing a detached retina on another occasion. I'm more than satisfied with the results and continue to attend his office in Burlington for routine checkups. The well-trained support staff in both the busy Mississauga and Burlington offices deal with a very large and varied practice with patience and efficiency.

I have been going to the clinic for several years - had cataract surgery on my high risk eyes by Dr. Armogan and regular check up and control of my glaucoma by Dr. Gill. Both are very competent, professional and personable. Check-up appointments are short but my questions have been patiently and clearly answered, which I very much appreciate. Eye sight is important - feel in good hands and care at OCC.

Kelvin Tai

Horrible scheduling, had to call to find out what the surgery time is scheduled for 24 hours before. If you have to take a loved one here for surgery how do they expect you to plan time off work for example. The policy is 48 hour notice if you want to cancel, they do not even give you 48 hours notice to the exact surgery time. How do they not have this figured out at least a week before. I had also gone to the preappointment meeting with the doctor. Once again poor scheduling, had to wait 2.5 hours after the scheduled time before seeing a NURSE to do any pre exams, then when we sat down for another hour until the doctor was ready, it only took approximately 10 mins for his examination. What a poorly designed system

Thank Dr. Armogan for my vitrectomy surgery. My surgery was quite succeed & had less side effect. Although my eye was not 100% recovered, but I strongly believe that my eye will be gradually improve from the help of Dr. Armogan & his professional staffs.

Dr. Armagon is excellent eye care specialist and very knowledgeable. He saved my eye and most of my vision is now restored. OCC is very busy place but his staffs are extremely efficient. I would highly recommend everyone to consider this clinic before making any decision.

I have been going here for about 8 years and this place has been amazing. Doctors are very professional. Place is very organized and all appointments are on time. One of the best clinics I have been to.

Kris Pathinather

Very professional and respectful staff help you throughout the process, even though some patients may be grumpy and demanding due to pain or worry. Dr. Armogen and his staff are attentive and very knowledgeable. After my double cataract surgery I experienced little pain and my vision has improved immeasurably. Dr. Armogen, Dr. Gill and Dr. Ali are all awesome and superior at their work. Best decision ever was to go there.

I had a partially detached retina repaired by Dr. Armogan in 2010. I showed up without an appointment at 8 a.m. on a Monday morning and Dr. Armogan altered his schedule to operate on me at noon. The operation was a great success and 4 years later, my eye is as good as before, possibly even better! Dr. Armogan's skills are second to none and his concern for his patients is wonderful. The OCC is a very busy place and I am very impressed with the processes that have been put in place to maximize efficiency. The staff and facilities are excellent and the follow up treatment I have had to ensure that my eyes are not encountering new problems is fabulous.

Dr. DeAngelis performed my mother's eye surgery. It went exactly how it was described, and the recovery was exactly as described. Great surgeon, professional, great facility and staff.

Three hours in this clinic and only saw the doctor for 4 minutes max. Booking your upcoming appointment takes 30 minutes alone. In need of a better system.

Marcia Tarant

Dr. Armogan and his staff have literally saved my vision. I am diabetic and through the use of lasers, and needles in the eyes themselves, I am still able to see as if I didn't have all the eye problems that diabetes brings. I couldn't ask for better or more professional care. They monitor so closely that problems are caught before they have time to do drastic damage. I hate to think where I would be without the Centre and Dr. Armogan. Thank you.

This place has horrible wait times. You cannot see a doctor and complete tests the same day. 2 appointments need to be made (people have jobs and cannot be booking off multiple days to go to the same place)

***PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER PROVIDER, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE as they will definitely waste yours*** This facility should be closed or penalized by whoever governs medical practice. Long waits, last minute cancellation and they don't want to take voicemail or pickup phone to answer your calls. Pandemic as excuse. Some automated system keeps repeating same directions to email and then there is a number to schedule your appointment which goes to an outsourced center with someone repeating the same direction to email and wait for reply 2-3days. What a misleading way to reduce costs at the burden of patients They might have doctor's but they don't know how to deliver a service or know it too well to cash out people and guarantee income with certain number of patients to their practitioners. ***PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER PROVIDER, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE as they will definitely waste yours and don't care how much a person's with eye problems must go thru to get to there door or appointments.

CHRIS CORATCHIA

This place just looks organized , but they are not. Yoveita has the worst customer service in there. She acts like she owns the place. She doesn't explained things very well either. Be careful of your information . They seem to lose it. Hopefully not selling your information

I have a very bad experience in this clinic today first step on computer Iz non sense so many people can’t fill it properly without the help then they start quickly and you reached at proscribed doctor my doctor name was Fareed Ali they put drops in my eyes for dilate which needs time to react But after 5-6 minutes they called me and I sit on the chair for exam doctor came and with in less one minute believe me less than one minute he saw my eyes did not listen me he an other specialist with a few days said he will refer to properly and said I

This place is OK. My only real complaint and it's a HUGE one is that making an appointment is a 5 second job but here with the hubris of them assigning you a date and then taking hours maybe days to answer the phone if it doesn't work is easily worth two or three stars off. Please note; some people are very busy! They should try to keep this in mind.

John M

Just a money grab. Avoid if possible. Doctors see you for barely minutes, giving little to no interest to your concerns. And they have the audacity to charge for parking when the facility is located in the middle of an industrial zone.

I was originally referred to Dr. Armogan to treat a retinal tear in my left eye. Dr. Armogan performed laser surgery restricting further tearing of the retina, keeping me from having a full retinal detachment. Having had emergency surgery to treat a retinal detachment in my right eye years previous, I was thrilled to not have to go through the experience again. Albeit Dr. Armogan is very busy treating multiple patients daily, I find him to be very personable, patient with my questions and informative with his feedback. He helps to make each visit a pleasant one. I visit the OCC clinic regularly, every 3-4 months, and am constantly amazed by the efficiency and professionalism of all the staff.

Please Please Please avoid this place and i called them they never aswer call till 45 min i added my screen shot. i made appiontment today 8.45am for checkup It took me over 2 hours to see the doctor very slow

This is a bit over due but better late than never. I had great success with my surgery at OCC. Every time I go there I wait for them to slip up. Not once have they. With the volume of people they still manage to go above and beyond care for there patients. They are quick and precise! They are the best for your eye care health!

I had Retina eye surgery in my left eye in 2015 and I am thankful to Dr. Armogan for saving my vision to a much better condition than it was before the surgery. The staff at OCC Eyecare were very helpful. kathleen Lambert

I have been using the services of OCC for the past 8 years. The appointment times are kept, they are efficient and polite and the staff is warm and friendly. I have had several issues with my eyes which have been dealt with in a professional way with excellent results. Including an emergency when I showed up at their office with no appointment, was seen by the doctor and scheduled for surgery that very day. Every time I go into see my optometrist, I thank him for recommending OCC.

Glenn Stuart

Cattle call , get them in and get them out. One on one time in an office with the Dr is nonexistent, the whole place is very cold toward the patient and the Drs don't care about their patients . Im going for a second opinion because they may have made my eye worse after surgery. The silicone oil that's put in after surgery is what's keeping me from better vision because the Dr says he can't remove it all " I can't get it all out, we take out what we can " says the Dr . I would not recommend this clinic to anybody .

Hazem Abdelaal

I don't really know how these people are ophthalmologists when they do not know onw of the simplest surgeries that any optomotrist know very well. These people are incompetent , unknowledgable and with a strong tendency to rush the patients. And after all we seeked another doctor that was able to reach a serious diagnosis Terrible clinic. Just a waste of time.

Antonio Scenna

Nice clean facility, All the staff are very polite and answer your questions. The doctors are very knowledgeable and friendly as well

AJAY LAD

I had to hold my tongue many times over a number of visits on my parents request, but even they felt the actual doctor Armogan and there was also a tall female doctor who repeatedly talked to the patients with such an elitist rude manner. They don't even make eye contact with the patients and talk abruptly as if we are inconveniencing their time, I highly reccomend NOT to come here based on their service . . . its basically a human mill / assembly line, you can see they are focused on the billable numbers and not a care for service quality, and my neighbour felt the same and left. Its will be clear after your first visit, mississauga has many options for you.

Manoj R

Doctor didn’t even spend a min for the diagnosis. Just few seconds that’s it. Waste of time

Ryan Nayr

Assembly line for eye care; makes a patient feel like an OHiP cash machine, zero personal care, less than 2 minutes with the actual Dr. Dr doesn’t listen to patient, only looks at patient’s pre-appointment assessment (ie eye exam and related exams). Makes no attempt to converse, or empathize, zero bedside manners. Attempt at clarifying questions are rebuffed with unkind, closed answers. Felt horrible dealing with these guys. They especially treat seniors badly. Don’t go here if you don’t have to.

Today is March 29th. I had an appointment for Laser. After I had been sitting in the waiting hall,I was told that the assistant had put the wrong eye drops and the doctor can not perform the Lase I took a day off from work And had to wait two more months to see the doctor. On top of that the doctor did not have the courtesy to explain what had happened. To make things worse the staff apologize but did not resolve my problem. I asked them to get hold of the doctors that I normally see,no help. If I can take a day off work without pay why could the doctor not stay another 15 minutes on his next visit ???

I loathe this place. The most impersonal experience one could have in any Healthcare setting. Cattle call at the best of times, and you rarely get the best of times. The kids administering the field tests have terrible attitude and quite frankly often do not know what they are doing. You cannot speak to a human when you need to make or adjust appointments- they force you to use email. I’ve had appointments cancelled on me at the last minute then had new appointment dates assigned, regardless of how it may line up with my schedule. Dr. Yan has the social skills of a snapping turtle. The saving grace here is Dr. Gill - once you make it through the musical chairs to her chair you are finally treated with respect and empathy. She explains things well and always has a wonderful attitude.

gurmander brar

Dr. Armagon is a great doctor and ever since he has helped my eye it has made a really big difference. I am very thank full.

Chris Davad

An absolutely amazing facility with very lovely staff. Dr. A is more than a blessing. I have never been so impressed. I thank God for Dr. A, and his wonderful gift. A stellar gentleman, with A+ staff. A top scale facility!

Mitali Ravji

My father was referred to Dr. Armogan by his optometrist. He has consistently had a great experience at OCC, and is especially pleased with the staff and service he receives every time he visits.

I wish I could give them -5... Going to this Clinic is a BIG mistake... My Aunt had her Cataract surgery in that Clinic...They made us go back and forth at least 5 times before the surgery to see many different people including the Surgen Dr. Armageden after months of going back forth at last they decided to go ahead with the Surgery...But after the Surgery we noticed that Dr. Armageden never performed the Surgery but instead he left to another Young and inexperienced Doctor name Gill, without even telling us that they have a different Doctor performing the Surgery... And because my Aunt didn't have the $1600 they asked for the upgrade lens they just used the most inexpensive lens which is neither for distance nor for near, which either one of them would have been covered by OHIP...They just used the Cheapest lens they could buy from Indian Bazaars fro couple of box and used them on Canadian patients. their cost just a few box but they charge the OHIP full price of lenses sold by reputable companies for near or distance vision... My Advice to you is not even get near that place if you care about your eyes or the eyes of your loved ones.

Kathy Pierson

I have been a patient of Dr. N Armogan since 2002 and am EXTREMELY satisfied with my treatment. I have also been referred from time to time to his two colleagues, Dr. Ali and Dr. Kosaric. All treatments have been conducted in a expediant and professional manner. The staff at the clinic is also very efficient and well trained. Very happy to recommend their services

Ash MC

Wait times aren't too bad, haven't waited more than an hour after my appointment time to be seen. The reason this place is going to get two stars is for 2 reasons. First, for the waiting time, you only get to see the doctor for less than 5 minutes which is crazy and they seem to be rushing through the appointment. Almost as if your concerns do not need to be heard. And secondly, they sat on bloodwork results for two months with something that the doctor said could have been potentially life-threatening. Had I not asked to push up my appointment, they would have sat on it for another month and I wouldn't have known I needed to see a new specialist. This to me is unacceptable. If the doctor sees something that is truly a big health concern, they should 1 tell you on the phone, 2 get your appt sooner or 3 get the info to your family doctor so you can follow up with them sooner. If I have the option, I will ask to see another ophthalmologist altogether, even though the Dr was nice. That experience was off-putting, especially because during that time, some health issues arose and knowing about that blood work maybe could have helped.

Ruzaliya Rustamova

People at Customer front desk do not smile, are not friendly and pretty aggressive. Management is very rude, nobody cares about your health.

The worst experience ever. I went there one month ago to meet Dr. Armagon. He saw me for only two minutes and said I have glaucoma though I went there to speak about my cataract. He was in a rush and didn't explain anything then referred me to another Dr. for glaucoma. I went again for tests and again today to see Dr. Gill. That was a shock, she was also in a rush and she spoke about cataract not glaucoma!!!!!!!! When I asked her to explain more about glaucoma, she was very upset and repeated everything she said again without explaining what I asked about. I asked again and she was very impatient and spoke rudely to me. I think she does not know what she is doing or what she has to do. When my husband tried to ask her to explain she was very rude to him also. Then we were upset and tried to ask her to be patient with us, she told us she is not able to continue more in this discussion and asked us to go out In the reception I asked for the results of the test I did 'some of them I had to pay for', I was told I must pay again for the results to be send to my referring doctor and that it will be send during 3 to 4 weeks!!!! Then Dr. Gill refused to complete the appointment and didn’t explain to me what I was asking about!!!!!!!! When we insisted to get explanation about the tests they said that they will send the report to my doctor by next Monday “March 5” to explain to me everything. I hope they do. The first doctor only sent me to her to keep the wheel rolling and making profit. That’s why she was confused and didn't know how to explain anything. She wanted only to end the appointment It was the worst experience ever. I really regret going there. They don't treat their patients by respect and only care about making profit. And now they don't keep their word too. Its March 5 and they didn't send the report. I called them 4 times during the day and they kept saying that they reminded dr. GILL and she will be sending the report by the end of the day. I called by 4:15 p.m., they answered and said hold on one moment to check and left me for 45 mins on the phone until the office was closed and no one answered. They don't respect their patients and they don't care. I had to go there again today March 6 to get my reports. Finally they said they sent it yesterday but after wasting my time for three days. I will never go back again.

The most arrogant, complacent doctors and staff at this location. Continuously speak over you don’t allow you to finish but mostly don’t do their jobs and make frivolous excuses. My mother has been seeing a number of doctors at this location for both glaucoma and cataract. After weeks of trying to follow up and make an appointment for inconclusive tests I just came off a call with one of the rudest of doctors I have ever come across Dr. Armorgan, who then just reiterated tests are inconclusive make an appointment I’m not a “secretary”. But none of the “ “secretaries” wanted to make an appointment for me because they had no directive by him for a follow up apointment. After I called him out on this, as he spoke over me, he told me there is a communication issue and is now refusing her care. I said great... there must be some other team better than this group of malpractice clowns. The manager Victor, at this location also needs special mention for ineffectiveness, continuously trying make excuses that the reasoning behind their office not communicating my mother’s recent inconclusive tests was that my mother ran off for a trans help car and didn’t want to stay even though I have been calling none stop every day for the past 2 weeks, asking for a follow up. My mother is over 70, can’t drive and has no family here, so if she missed her pick up ride she was stranded. But again the office here has no understanding or wish to care or understand. They have no patience with seniors and when someone stands up to speak on an elderly person’s behalf their lack of caring intensifies 10000 fold. Horrid care - complete disgrace for supposed professionals.

Guys, Please Please Please avoid this place , this looks like a total scam to get your OHIP money. My wife had her HRT test done, for which we paid $105 and upon requesting a report we were told that we need to pay $45, if we have to get it to our individual email. If they send it to referral doctor's email it would be free. We pay for the test, so we own the report. We finally requested and signed some document to have the report sent on July 12th, today even after more than 3 weeks, we haven't received it. To me the only reason for not sending the report would be that they need to hide facts. This place plays on fear factor and manages to have us as their recurring account so they continue to make money. Less said about Dr Macguire the better, I suspect he has already damaged my wife's eyes in the laser that has been performed on her. I really regret coming to this place, earlier my wife had been to Dr Fong at square one and Dr Mednick and they were super and more human. I am looking for any governing body that regulates Optometrists and Ophthalmologist, if I don't find one in next 2 weeks, I don't mind reporting to OPP. If possible, I would give them negative 100 ratings.

This place is not good at all. They are like robot and especially Dr. Armagan even does not let you talk. He just want to go and they are just looking for money and they want to finish it as soon as possible. I will not go there never ever and if you really need someone to listen to your concern and be a human and not a robot (who just knows the books and rules) DO NOT go to this place.

Tracey Hoven

Wonderful facility, efficient and professional staff. Four surgeries, all follow ups, check ups and testing have been great. Easy to talk to, welcomes questions. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing eye care. - Anna Hoven

My husband has had two very complicated eye surgeries at the clinic. We really appreciated the expert care that he received. Also, we appreciated the efficiency of the clinic which focuses on individuals providing the appropriate care in a very timely way. We always felt that we were treated with care and respect. Dr. Armogan is an outstanding surgeon who focuses on providing excellent care. He has an excellent support team so that he is able to do the complicated procedures and know that his team will take care of the rest. We highly recommend this clinic.

D Fact

Factory service eyecare. Had treatment done and and prescription was not clear o the pharmacist so I missed that dosage and the next morning. Went back and sat in the waiting room for my Rx only to find the Dr left. Sat waiting for someone to give me a Rx. And then they tell you to need to keep coming back for followup. Also the office was packed full of people. Not good during Covid. And that was in the summer in the height of Pandemic.

Ann Robins

This clinic is "state of the art." The Dr's are "top of the the line." Staff is so efficient and thorough-the entire experience is as good as it gets. The whole process runs like a well oiled machine. I have had lens put in both eyes, superb results and they watch so carefully my Macular Degeneration and glaucoma.I travel apporx 80 KM but it is entirely worth each trip. I was in today at 6:45 am and walked out at 7:15am, after drops, pressure test, scan and saw the Dr. That has been my experience each time I have visited in the past several years.
