Great staff and great experience. I can't believe how well I can see! Better than I ever could with glasses or contacts. I was afraid of getting Lasik for a long time before I went in for the consultation but after talking to the staff they were so knowledgeable and sweet I decided to get it done. The procedure was totally painless and maybe took ten minutes. Dr. Jackman has a very calming way about him so I didn't feel too anxious during the procedure. I'm very glad I had it done and I would recommend it to anyone.

I do have a consultation with another clinic just to compare "it is my eyes we're talking about" however I think my decision is already made. the staff were unbelievably friendly and informative I got the feeling from them that if I wanted to stay there all day asking questions and having then explain the procedure I would have been welcome to do so, never did I feel that I was being rushed out the door to make way for next appointment.

Excellent consultation process and very professional atmosphere and staff through two of the three part process. Then if fell apart. I did not like the way the pricing was sold to me. Had I not asked I would not have been told about the less expensive options available. The $490 per eye They advertised turned into $3400 and my eyes are a perfect candidate with a moderate prescription. After I asked I was told that there was another option and the price was $2400. When I signed up they also offered me a $300 coupon. So I asked about this and was told that's only available on the more expensive option. To sum it up this would be a 5 star experience except for the very "salesy" approach they take to their clients on pricing. Worse than buying a car!

In February I had cataract surgery performed on both eyes at the Jackman Institute under the professional care of Dr. Chris Jackman. I was very impressed with his incredible skill and very caring way in which I was treated. He made me feel so relaxed and comfortable through the whole procedure. Dr. Jackman has a demeanour about him that is quite evident once you get to meet him. His efficient staff are next to none, they are very informative, knowledgeable and always there to help you with any questions that you may have. Unregistered technicians perform the initial exam. That means if you have insurance, it will not be covered. Hopefully, the doctor performing the surgery checks your eyes. Also, scheduling is extremely limited.

Fred even came in on his day off to do my week after checkup as I was flying out early the next morning. Warm friendly greetings as soon as you walk thru the door :) During my consultation I knew what to expect procedure day, they spoke of the different laser options and finances, and made me aware of halos or dry eyes. Staff was very reliable and made me feel at ease with my decisions. Dr.Jackman did my laser vision correction and he made me feel comfortable during the entire procedure. He talked about everything that was happening, as well as, what was going to occur next. I felt 100% at ease during the entire procedure because of him talking to me. I went to the Lasik MD clinic in St. John's, NL today for an appointment and was told that I was a good candidate for the surgery. I was advised to have only eye done due to my prescription. There was an opening available for this Friday morning so I booked the appointment for that time. While we were talking about the price and booking the appointment I informed the lady that I had a coupon for $300.00 and wanted to use it. She said it was no problem and asked to see it. I showed it to her and she said I would only be able to use 1/2 of it because I was only having one eye done. I said that I was ok with that. She was giving me a $75.00 discount because I had a health plan but the health plan was not covering any part of the procedure. I called the health provider and they don't cover any of it. She told me that she would have to put the $75.00 back on the price before she took the amount of the coupon off. I said, "sure, I am ok with that also". She said it couldn't be combined with any other offer. I said I understood and that that was fair. Before she could confirm that I could use the coupon she said she had to go talk to her supervisor first to make sure it was ok. When she returned to the office she said, "I have bad news for you, you can not use the coupon because you were only having one eye done. One eye was all that was recommended to me by your staff. Nowhere on the coupon do it say this and from what your staff said "a lot of people have/need only one eye done. At that time I said to her that if I could use the coupon for ($150.00, one eye) that I would book the Friday morning opening and pay for the surgery now. I was unable to use the coupon so I cancelled the booking. I was very disappointed as I was thinking of having the procedure done for years and my husband always encouraged me to have it done but it was one of those things that I kept putting off. When I received the coupon in the mail I though, yes, I think I will now go see what it's all about. After this happening I lost all confidence in your business. After all, if you had let me use the coupon it would have only been $75.00 off because the coupon was for $300.00, I was only having one eye done so it would have been $150.00 and the $75.00 discount off because of me having an insurance policy took it back to me only being $75.00 better off using it. In this case I think it isn't the $75.00, it is the principal of the thing. If you mail out coupons you should allow for their use not just as a promotion to get people in and not allow them to use them. This is false advertising. Is this what you need to do to stay solvent? I feel that I was been fair in agreeing with only using 1/2 the coupon and also agreeing for her to add the $75.00 discount back on again that she took off because of me having an insurance policy. There was no give at all from your company. I was going to spend over $1800.00 and pay for it today and have the surgery completed Friday. There are other clinics where I live that performs the same procedure and I am sure will be happy to accept an appointment for the same procedure. Your advertising promotes that you will better any price from your competitor by $100. This is $75 and the principal now. For me to go back to Lasik MD I would expect a much better customer service. Word of mouth and the social media is the best for of advertisement and if this is the process of your business you have just spent the worst $75 of advertising.

I've not had the surgery yet Now scheduled for September. My initial examination by Dr. Parsons floored me. I have great difficulty with anyone near my eyes and he took great pain to explain every single silly question I had. To be honest that was six weeks ago and I feel confident that if I had 50 more questions I would still be sitting there and he would still be explaining. Gave me super confidence in having this procedure. For anyone getting older this is a stressful consideration. You need to know what's happening. I will say with absolute confidence that this is the most professional experience I have had in any medical situation in my time. The service is so personalized that the staff knows you not just only by your first name, but by your full name. They helped me all the way from the day I called in the clinic to book my free consultation, up to the day of my surgery and up to now with my post surgery check ups. I only wear glasses in certain situations (night driving, classes in big lecture theatres, etc.), and had a consultation at Lasik MD to find out if I could get rid of them. Upon a very thorough examination (the usual eye exam testing as well as some tests that I had never done before) the staff at Lasik MD informed me that I was not a good candidate for laser eye surgery. Of course I was disappointed, but I really REALLY appreciated how clearly they explained things. They have a national network of information from countless numbers of surgeries that they use to determine who should proceed with surgery and whats best suited for them. Instead of just taking my money and performing the surgery, they explained how the surgery works and why (with a prescription like mine) I shouldn't have surgery. I appreciate that Lasik MD is a medical clinic first, and a business second. I would recommend (and have recommended) Lasik MD St. John's to anyone!

The team at LASIK MD were incredible from the time I booked the consultation, to surgery day, to the follow up appointments, and even today. People often hesitate to get the surgery because they don’t feel comfortable with someone operating on their eyes. Dr. Jackman was so great in making me feel comfortable with the process, and the whole process took something like five minutes - super quick. No pain. Other people question the price. To those people I say this, I have never spent money more wisely in all of my life. In hindsight (PUN!), I would have paid more than double the cost. The folks at LASIK MD have payment plans as well as very low (not no) interest. Incredible. I’m very grateful for Kelly, Dr. Jackman, and the rest of the team at LASIK MD.

Everyone, from the front desk to the eye care professionals, are incredibly friendly and welcoming from step 1. All tests and exams are properly explained as you go through them, and all results are explained in as understandable a way as possible. It's been 19 months since I have had my surgery, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Yes, it's expensive, but come on, it's your eyes! I had been wearing glasses since grade 4, and stopped wearing them at 44.
