I personally have never been more comfortable with a doctor then I am with Dr. Ahmed Al-ghoul he was very professional and took him time . We have dealing with this clinic for my father's eye surgery for a year. First time we were there they were one hour behind appointment time. I understand things happen. Second time they were behind schedule I ended up with a 90.00 parking ticket I couldn't leave my father to wait as he has severe cataracts and dementia. The 3 rd time was 2.5 hours past the appointment time when I asked when they were going to see us they didn't know. Now they told us that hey have changed his surgery twice with no notice. The only way I found out is by calling the clinic myself each time 2 days prior. They then say we'll we can reschedule. This is not acceptable. After having spoke with jasmine and manager Amira, I have had my concerns addressed. Although I had gone through this they were completely understanding. Thanks to these to ladies for making me feel way better about the clinic.

I just had cataract surgery yesterday! Dr Lechi did a fantastic job and I do mean fantastic! I could not see anything out of my right eye at all! I received a phone call 3 weeks ago and my surgery was slated for Oct! I asked to be put on a cancellation list if they had one! I figured with all the things going on it would be a fairly long wait! To my surprise they had a cancellation! They called me last Tuesday and booked me in for the following Monday which was yesterday! Very professional, very comfortable! An overall great experience! I was suggested an appointment with Dr. Al-Ghoul from my eye doctor after about two months of treatments from another specialist for cornea erosion. Ever since then I have not seen anything but improvement. Didn’t have to do any expensive surgery or medications. There is usually a long wait even if you have appointment if you go there during busy times.. thank you again!

I suffered a significant cornea ulcer for which I was referred to Dr. Al-Ghoul. I can't say enough about the care I received not only from Dr. Al-Ghoul but from the whole team. It is a very busy practice but every patient interaction I witnessed (I've been there over MANY visits) was professional, caring and courteous. They cheer on success and check in to see how patients are progressing. I'm very grateful to have had access to such great care in Calgary.

I had a few questions about a possible eye operation I was thinking about and was immediately seen by a Surgical Coordinator. She told me all the information regarding a surgery if followed through and the necessary post-operative plans to help me get around with my schedule and recovery around my work, and daily commitments! I always mention them to my friends as the level of care from top to bottom is hard to express with words. Thank you!

Front desk and booking staff unhelpful. To book an appointment I have to call about 10 times leaving messages. They never returned my call. Place is in an expensive pay parking building. 3 dollars an hour. For your appointment you would expend about 2 hours or more as you go from room to roomn and wait periods.

Doctor there are nice and friendly; however, the staff are extremely unhelpful and rude. My dad has been here on reoccurring appointments for years and throughout the years, I cannot count how many issues I've encountered. Once I rescheduled the appointment for him, and they're usually scheduled months in advanced, so on the day of the appointment, when my dad took the morning off, apparently there was no appointment scheduled in so he wasted half a day and made a trip down for nothing and we live in Airdrie. This appointment scheduling mishap has happened twice! Once they cancelled very last minute and "notified" me with some automated machine that didn't even leave a proper message in my voicemail. So they claim they "notified" me, via the automated system, which didn't even proper record anything at all - the notification was done on Friday afternoon after they have closed and the appointment was Monday morning. Now, my dad doesn't speak English very well, but the Doctor knows him by now and usually my dad just calls me at the time of the appointment if the doctor needs to tell him something, but now apparently he can't do that, after like 7+ years? The staff are extremely unhelpful and not accommodating AT ALL.

My father attended Seema Eye Care Centre and was seen by Dr. Al-Ghoul and we couldn't be more pleased with the care he received. Yes, the time in the clinic can involve some waiting, (just bring a book and a snack :) ) but we know that several assessments had to be done, by different technicians in order to confirm proper information and measurements. Also, we know that the doctors are sight-saving experts and making sure that everyone is getting the best care! I don't mind the wait because I feel that if you ever need more time or extra care, they will provide it to you. The staff were lovely and helpful and kind. The parking isn't free, but the fee is so small compared to any hospital or downtown offices. A pleasant visit from beginning to end. Regarding COVID 19 I felt very safe inside their office with all the sanitizing practices and social distance. Covid precautions were strictly adhered to by all of the staff. Everyone was friendly and provided a clear explanation of their part of the process. The morning was streamlined very efficiently, and the diagnosis was explained in a direct, clear, and professional manner. A great place to be referred to when needing advanced care for your eyes. We were very pleased with the care my father received. Thanks to the establishment and group of people with excellent doctor. What a pleasure. 10\10 Highly Recommended

The doctor's and nurses are polite and supportive. The customer service however needs MAJOR work. I tried calling 7 times today over 3 hours, 6 calls went to the answering machine, I left a message and did not receive a call back. On my last call attempt, they did answer, but then put me on hold for over 20 minutes! I had to hang up and call back and demand to be heard. They've booked me twice on days that my doctor was not in the office and had to reschedule me both times. I have also asked to be booked at 2pm and they have called to confirm saying I was booked at 12pm. Wait times are brutally long even if you have an appointment, and then you have about 45 seconds talking to the doctor as they are rushing to move you along. The lady next to me has been here for 4.5 hours and as I type this a gentleman is complaining he has been here for over 3 hours. Another frustration is that you have to pay for parking, so you often see people running out every hour to feed the meter. Not and ideal situation for patients. They definitely need to figure their stuff out.

Had appointment on Tuesday. The doctor had an emergency patient. We had a longer wait. I was disgusted with the behavior of people waiting. One man resorted to raging at staff. The great news is that staff was professional . It is sad to see the level of entitlement that still exists during a pandemic. People need to do better! No one going to work needs to be treated so poorly! Everyone that I dealt with was excellent. Including the manager. This lady went above and beyond to accommodate me. We are fortunate to have access to this service

I have not even made it to my first appointment yet and I am already dreading the disorganization. I am sure the doctors are fantastic, but the appointment booking is a miserable shambles. I got a referral here from my optometrist 3 months ago, and never heard from these guys until the day before yesterday. When I received an automated call to my voicemail reminding me of my appointment on Friday (3 days from the time of the call). When I called back the next day (because of course the automated calls come after the office is closed), and asked why the short notice, the receptionist told me that my optometrist was supposed to set up the first appointment time. That seemed weird but okay... I confirmed the Friday appointment, and confirmed with the receptionist that I would be okay to go back to work afterwards (she assured me that it was a 1 hour appointment and I would not be dilated, when I specifically asked), then scrambled to find someone to cover my shift Friday morning for me until I could get back. Yesterday I got another automated call at the same time after the office was closed, reminding me of my appointment on Monday, and telling me that I would be dilated and the appointment will take 3 hours. I have been working in health care in one form or another for 19 years, and I have never had such an unprofessional experience. And like I said, I haven't even had my first appointment yet! I hope the doctors are more organized than their front-line staff! *Update: Today I phoned my optometrist to find out what was going on. No, it is not their responsibility to arrange the appointments on behalf of Seema. No referring doctor anywhere is responsible for arranging appointments on behalf of the specialist. I also found out that the receptionist from Seema called my optometrist this morning, and literally yelled at his receptionist for not notifying me about the appointment, to the point where his receptionist had to tell Seema's receptionist to stop yelling and have a normal conversation please. I can't imagine her boss will be too pleased when my optometrist's office chats with him/her tomorrow... I will go to my appointment on Monday (arranged without notifying me, again), but at this point, no matter how awesome the doctors are, I will be looking for a different referral if I need any follow-up appointments. None of this headache is worth it.

The doctor in that place cauterized my upper tear canals, to retain my natural tears longer and thus help me with dry eyes, cauterization is supposed to last for life, but it doesn't last for a week. This procedure is about sealing the upper tear canals with heat, the eyelids swell for a week, I could not work for a week. I was willing to tolerate that because I thought that would be the solution to my problem, but the doctor was mediocre, I only have the side effects left, you should be ashamed! Cauterization should last for life! and it didn't last a week

I've had a positive experience and outcome with service staff and specialists at each appointment. The clinic is efficient and, while I may have a longer wait on occasion, emergencies take priority and it's never an unreasonable wait. Dr Al Ghoul did a great job of keeping me calm during surgery. I was home by ten AM. Ones eyesight is so important and is worth taking extra time to get it right.

I have had many consultations with other specialist in the city for my Corneal Edema when I stumbled upon Seema Eye Centre. As my condition worsened, and my vision began to fade rapidly, I wanted the best and latest procedures for my eyes, and for my condition Corneal DMEK was it. To my surprise, there was only one center in Calgary that provided such a procedure, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghoul the surgeon who performed such an advanced procedure. Throughout 2016, I have had 3 procedures with Dr. Al-Ghoul, and have experienced nothing but the best. The staff is pleasant, kind, and beyond helpful. The processes they have in place for incoming patients allows for rapid and quick turn-around times. Although my surgeries were complex, I am happy and lucky I had zero complications. Dr. Al-Ghoul was patient and tentative, and his vast knowledge and calm attitude put me at ease even in times when I had little to no vision. I have dealt with many ophthalmologist and corneal specialists in Calgary and internationally, and I have found the Seema Eye Centre to be the best yet! I can’t thank Dr. Al-Ghoul and the folks at Seema Eye Centre enough!

I haven't had my cataract surgery yet, but was compelled to write a review here. I can't believe all the people commenting negatively on any waits encountered at their appointment or occasional admin organization issues. Good quality service takes time. The fact they are busy is a good thing. When you are in a consultation room, wouldn't you want them to spend as much time as necessary with you to test and explain everything? In reading these reviews, I am more interested in feedback on Dr. Al-Ghoul, and they are all clearly positive, giving very high praise. That is all that matters to me - the skill and quality of the surgery on my eyes. Thanks to those who kept their comments to that aspect only, they were very helpful in making my decision to go ahead with the surgery. I have ignored all the negative comments, as they don't matter in the least.

I have no words to describe this factory. I went there "twice" the first and last.... I did not even bother to wait for a doctor to see me. I thought I went to a medical clinic to see a specialist not a technician . I was appaled with the technician and the whole place. I am still angry and upset with that lousy experience. I am not used to this kind of treatment and I don't think anyone desreves that. I cannot comment on any of the doctors as I decided to not waste my time and wait for one and I left. The setting is definitely not a professional one. I walked in and what I saw was an assembly line....I had to give them one star as otherwise I could not post this. But the one star is under protest.

There seems to be little concern for customer service here and they definitely don't value your personal time. EL Terrible. * Dropped my grandmother here. ( 12noon - 1630H out) * 1530H I arrived for pickup. * 1600H I tried to asked their front desk ( no one identified my grandmother they said no history or appointment on her name. * In the end, grandmother took the bus, I got the rush hour traffic. Warning: Discrimination ( White come First Serve) If you're Asian, I will not recommend this clinic, because of time integrity is less, + customer service ( picky ) ( I believe not everyone on this clinic does this, but there will be a time to encounter this- not only here- but every were and every country got theirs- discriminate).

Nice staff and modern equipment and office. However I had to give a 'meh' review due to wait times (1hr and Dr. saw me for maybe 5mins). The main reason for upset though, is I was booked for an appointment to have an exam which came with strict instructions that I required a ride home... My husband took the morning off work to drive me. Upon my appointment though, I was seen for 5mins by the Dr. and then given a referral elsewhere for an ultrasound. Not sure if they forgot to do the examination, or if reception forgot to advise me of the change, or even if the Dr. saw me and determined the exam was unnecessary… either way, nothing was communicated to me and I left feeling confused why the exam was never done and why my husband took time off work to drive me home when nothing was done?

The professional timely care given by this organization is second to none. I have never experienced a heath care treatment so thoroughly performed. Dr Al Ghoul telephoned me at home the evening after the first surgery was performed. Now, I ask you: WHEN HAS A SURGEON EVER CALLED YOU AT HOME TO CONFIRM THAT EVERYTHING IS OK? Our appointment was at 7:30 when the clinic is supposed to be open, but at 7:45 there is a hallway of patients standing in the hall waiting and the office still isn't open. Making all these older people wait outside with no where to sit, after they are supposed to be open is rude, not to mention the fact that most of them had had surgery the previous day and are not supposed to be on their feet!!

Each appointment took near two hours, but doctor only seen for under one minute. Several assembly line stations with a series of waiting areas. Impersonal "hurry up and wait" passing from one tech to another with the doctor finally breezing in, taking one look, and leaving seconds later. Factory style health care may be coldly efficient, but it isn't inspiring or reassuring.

I'm pretty sure they book 5 patients every 5 minutes. My first appointment was at 1. I didn't leave the building until 445. When I had my surgery done, it was quick, but my I day follow up was first thing in the morning. (8am). I didn't leave until 1130. Not impressed with how many people they try to squeeze into a day, I felt very rushed. Even for my surgery, the doctor was in, rushed through and left within 5 minutes.

Super thankful & grateful for Dr. Vikram Lekhi. I suffered from a large chalazion from September 2020 - April 2021 on a very thin and sensitive area, my right eye lid. I am not happy with this company. They don't inform you of doctor cancelations. Eg. I took my dad to a lense fitting. Doctor wanted an in person meeting after measuring. Doctor had surgery (it happens). They didn't inform me before hand i had to come back yet another day. On top if that, they seemed double booked for the lense fitting. We waited about an hour before they were ready for him. My father got stiff and sore from sitting too long and had to do this through his lunch time. This is no longer their time but OUR time they are buying. If they are over booked. Then book us for another day but do not make us wait or not tell us about the doctor not being here for a scheduled appointment. Lack of communication in a big way at this office

I bring my mom here, frequently, for follow-ups. The one day I didn't take her and decided to come on her own, she was mistaken about the appointment date. My mom made a scene of course, but soon enough she realized her mistake. The staff was so understanding and helpful! they reimbursed her for the cab fare and paid for a cab to get her home safely! My father is a patient of Dr. Lekhi, is in his late 70s and has macular degeneration. After waiting 2 hours my dad got in and was able to talk to the Dr. for 5 min. Dad was told that there were no changes and to come back in May. Honestly, I question this Drs. competency because there have been clearly changes to my father's sight. I have to point on forms where he needs to sign his signature and this is just one example. Not only that but my own father says that he has observed changes in his vision. I don't know what is going on at that clinic but I believe they need to spend more time talking to their patients so that they get an overall picture regarding their patients sight and eye health. Five minutes is just not enough time. He may be from a small town but I think he has forgotten where he has come from and that time matters. Surgery may be where the money is at but....

This week is my one year anniversary of being under the amazing care of Dr. Al-ghoul. One year ago, my future looked bleak having been diagnosed with late stage Keratoconus..... He saved my eyes with CXL procedure, when other Doctors have recommended the invasive corneal transplant surgery. Dr. Al-ghoul and his staff have been extremely helpful to me with ocular comorbidities. Despite having a busy practice. They always responded to my need and fit in when I have an emergency. I felt that this doctor really care about my whole being and not just the fact that I needed ophthalmology specialist. Honestly, what a wonderful thing to have a doctor who actually cares about my well-being and takes the times to explain his thinking. I just spent 2 hours at this clinic to receive about 4 minutes worth of testing, some of which I had to pay for directly. What an impersonal and thankless experience. The process of moving clients around different waiting areas appears designed for efficiency, but in fact is incredibly inefficient, and operates at expense of the clients' time. It shows a complete lack of respect for clients and clearly reflects a singular focus on the bottom line. The staff were like impersonal cogs in the machinery. Very negative experience.

Plan to pay for 2hrs - 3hrs of parking. The appointment was for 10:15am but didn’t get called to see the first technician until 11:05am. Then waited until 12:15pm to see the Dr. Considering only 1/4 of the waiting area seats were open to patients due to COVID protocols I am at a loss to explain the wait times. Only thing I could criticize is the fact the place is a factory lineup one person after another and very slow. When you are fasting and have diabetes it is very dangerous to be kept waiting for 14 hours without something to eat or drink. Backed up surgeries and back up appointments and grumpy patients should all be corrected.

Clinic can be disorganized and front staff are rude and abrupt. Never on time and appointments always seems to take 2+ hours. I can have the same tests done at my eye doctor's office in a fraction of the time and the same eye drops prescribed by my eye doctor. Given that it is a doctor's office, would think that it could be scent free as most of the staff are heavy on scents.

I have gone through some very complex procedures and care with them and have always had the very best care I would not have the level of vision I have today without their care and referrals to other key specialists who worked to give me the ability to see. The clinic has always been great ,staff are very polite and caring. New renovated office is well laid out and welcoming. There have been people complaints about long waiting times on appointment day and people get a little frustrated, I have waited for a couple of hours my self, but everyone gets seen, receives undivided attention and care. Dr. Al -Ghoul and his staff are great to deal with. They listen very carefully to your concerns and address them. I have finally found some relief with my dry eyes and blepharitis. I like that they a variety of options to relieve dry eyes as everyone is different and what works for one may not work for someone else. The staff is polite and helpful. Amera, the office manager is so nice and compassionate. Yes there is a wait to see Dr. Al-Ghoul at your appointment, but because he is dealing with everyone's precious eyesight and concerns, I don't mind.

My vision has been terrible all my life, I Honestly cannot remember a time that I have not been in glasses or contact lenses. I consulted with another well known clinic about 6 years ago now. And wasn't sure if I wanted to go ahead with any surgery due to the uncertainty and complexity of my eyes. My new Optometrist encouraged me to go talk to Dr. Al Ghoul, and see what his recommendations are. Everyone in the clinic was extremely friendly and very helpful right from the reception staff, to Alaina the surgical coordinator and of course Dr.. Al Ghoul. I have to say that I am now 1 week post surgery and I was not even nervous going in, I knew I was in good hands with Dr Al Ghoul, and he did not disappoint, the results speak for themselves, I am now at very close to 20/20 where i started at -17.50!!!! Post surgery day Dr Al Ghoul gave me a call later in the evening personally to see how everything was feeling, And I also had access to his personal cell phone in case of emergencies, you really cant ask for better service. If you are looking at clinics and uncertain or shortlisting between two, I would recommend Clarity (or starting at Seema like I did, due to the condition of my eyes) hands down. Do not hesitate go meet the staff Alaina and Dr Al Ghoul, you will not regret it!

I have been attending Seema Eye Care Centre with my mother for her various different eye concerns for the past 6 years. I continue to be impressed by the level of service and dedication she receives from the staff every time she has is in the clinic. Dr. Al-Ghoul makes her feel important and is constantly doing his utmost to help restore her vision, which is being affected by dry macular degeneration, a retinal occlusion, and chronic dry eyes. He is obviously very knowledgeable and skilled, but what really sets him apart is his kindness and patience. We have seen many skilled physicians for my mom's various health concerns; however, it is very rare to come across someone that is skilled, kind, professional. The staff at Seema eye care are also very dedicated to their patients. His clinic is sometimes busy, but we have never had to wait very long for our appointment. In fact, I cannot recall ever being at his clinic for more than an hour with my mom, which is actually very impressive since she sees at least 4 different technicians performing different eye exams before she sees Dr. Al-ghoul. We have never had any issues with booking appointments in between scheduled appointments. My mother is typically seen every 4 months, but if she wants to be seen due to a concern that has arisen in between scheduled appointments, all we have to do is call and we are typically seen within a couple of weeks. We especially like the appointment reminder and confirmation service Seema provides, as we tend to forget about appoitnments scheduled so far in advance.

What a money grab drain on our health system. Place will conduct tests for extended periods. No results. Original referral overlooked in favor of conducting more and more tests. I originally did not want to post this review, however today was my second time in the clinic with my mother and I witnessed for the second time as the manager of the clinic was yelling at her staff in front of everyone. It is very disruptive and unprofessional. When we came into the clinic the first time our testing was rudely interrupted by the manager storming into the room yelling at a technician in the middle of my mother's testing. My mother was really shook at this point and wanted to leave immediately but we waited to be seen for 2 hours already so I convinced her to stay. We had to stop everything for that employee to be called to do something else. There was no apology or anything which really took me by surprise. I have been a manager myself for many years in healthcare and I feel really bad for these employees, no wonder they are running behind all the time, it is clear no one wants to be there. Needless to say the employee was almost in tears coming back to do our testing. I really hope that the treatment gets resolved because everyone deserves to be treated better. We decided to see another specialist after today because we do not support this by any means.

Overall I haven’t had a terrible experience at the clinic as the staff are very friendly and easy to deal with however, the wait times are ridiculous! 2 hour wait times when you book appointments is uncalled for, maybe book lless patients in the day to ease up for emergencies. Also I have found 2 out of the 3 of the doctors I have seen don’t have time and they are in and out. Feels rushed, just another dollar on the pay check. If your making your patients wait 2 hrs it would be nice to see you give a little more time and attention! An explanation to your findings goes a long way! I went this week to have a 1 wk follow up appointment post corneal cross linking and to have my protective contact lense removed, the doctor proceeded to tell me oh no it fell out, and I said are you sure about that? Are you sure it’s not in my eye somewhere as it feels quite scratchy?! And he proceeded to tell me nope definitely not in your eye. Sure enough two days later my eye appeared to have something further back in the eye socket, with some maneuvering I was able to find the contact lense! And since I removed this myself I no longer notice the scratchiness on the eye! Thanks for not really caring to check closely and just assumed it was out!

After 2 years of suffering itchy burning eyes coupled with flaking, bleeding eyelids, eyelash loss, and copious continuous tearing which blurred my vision, my opthamologist referred me to Dr. Al Ghoul. At Seema my eye examination included parameters no other professional had quantified, including the quality/quanity of my tears and the integrity of my meibomian gland function. Diagnosed with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction and Ocular Rosacea, I began IPL treatments. After 5 IPL treatments, my condition is remarkably improved. Meibomian gland function is restored. The itching and scratching have disappeared. The quality of my tears is vastly improved and the quanity of tears is normal. Seema's IPL treatment, in tandem with dermatological treatment for the rosacea component, have given me my life back. Dr. Al Ghoul is personable and knowledgable, and his team is professional. I highly recommend this treatment.
