AVOID THIS CLINIC - Phoned 3 separate times in the past month. The first two times I can’t remember if they were the same receptionist but they were extremely rude with me on the phone and totally unprofessional. It sounded as if they didn’t want to help me with my questions. I assumed maybe they were just having a bad day so I brushed it off. Today though was the 3rd time and I managed to catch her name, Tess. She was extremely rude and had an attitude, this was the third time within a month. There are so many other great ophthalmologists in Edmonton that you can go to that will provide better services. *I would not feel comfortable taking my family members here nor will I recommend any of my friends.

Yes, I should have read the reviews to brace myself. Almost a year into the pandemic and this place has not adapted an efficient process to handle the changes. Problems consist of; poor covid screening, overbooking during a pandemic causing obvious complications, poorly spaced waiting area and parking/pick-up. Prepare to be treated like you are you perfectly healthy by the reception staff. They will not take notice or care if you're limping in or can barely see coming in. Nor will the receptionists care if you can't see much when leaving. (Pretty good chance your eyes are getting dilated and you will have some sort of poor vision????) Trying to leave this building will be some sort of an issue without a chaperone, which they do not allow ????. Please read other 1-2 star reviews for reception concerns. An automated robot may offer some empathy as a receptionist.

If you are looking at getting laser eye surgery done, come to this place. They did a free consultation to see if I was a candidate for their surgery, and then the doctor answered every questions I had. I was able to get in for the surgery two weeks after my consultation, and the procedure went smoothly. The doctor was also very professional and did a wonderful job. After the surgery, I was expecting quite a bit of discomfort but felt next to no pain once the freezing came out. I would highly recommend this surgery and would definitely recommend Dr. Leong-Sit.

Excellent experience once again. Dr. Joseph P. Leong-Sit did my previous right eye cataract surgery 8 years ago with perfect result. Yesterday he completed the surgery on my left eye. I had a Toric Inner Ocular Lens replacement done. Dr. Leong-Sit and his team are a well oiled machine. During my initial consultation the procedure was explained thoroughly and in a straightforward manner. On my day of surgery everything was comfortable and on time. Dr. Joseph is a kind and compassionate man. He kept reassuring me through course of the surgery and telling me what I would experience and hear. My vision was hazy yesterday as expected but this morning the colours are jumping and my focus is superb.

I want to share my experience with anyone and everyone who is considering laser eye surgery. I was referred to Eye-Q by a few different people and thought to meet with them myself to "see" what the rave was all about. Needless to say, I am very, very impressed with Eye-Q and completely blown away at the level of professionalism they had each time I visited their location. As a business owner myself, with a large number of staff, one of the hardest things to do is to get everyone following in the same direction from service to process to follow up. From the receptionist who welcomed me, to Brooklyn the consultant who handled the administration, to the technicians who observe your eyesight to both Doctors who consulted me (Dr. Leong-Sit who performed the surgery) everyone was top notch with making me feel comfortable. The education that I received was by far the best part of the experience as I was very reluctant to do the surgery considering this is a life changing situation, but they gave me options which was why I am so happy with the overall result. Eye-Q was completely solid as a business should be in this particular industry. I will definitely refer them and would give them 10 stars if I could. Furthermore, Dr. Leong-Sit was not about to let me spend the money without me knowing the complete scope of the surgery. He was unbiased, meticulous, thorough and patient with me as I was a bit anxious at first. He made the entire experience enjoyable and worthwhile. I personally don't take eye surgery lightly and knowing what I know now, I am a believer of Eye-Q Laser and will let everyone I know about them. One of the reviews I read about them says it best and as exactly as I am feeling.... When I began considering corrective eye surgery, the decision was not made lightly. I found Dr. Leong-Sit at Eye-Q after considering many other options and directly consulting with two of his strongest competitors. After this search, both Dr. Leong-Sit and Eye-Q very obviously stood out as the best of the best. I am now 3 months post-surgery, and I can say with complete confidence that I made the right choice. Every interaction experienced at this clinic has been a pleasure, right from the initial assessment, through the surgery, and during the several post-operative care appointments. The staff is efficient, friendly, and exhibit a level of professionalism that has the capacity to set a nervous mind at ease. The most notable example of this professionalism occurred just minutes before my surgery when, during the final fitness-for-surgery assessment, Dr. Leong-Sit effectively expressed his unbiased professional medical opinion that despite the plans for surgery in both eyes, due to a combination of circumstances involving a large variance in the magnitude of correction and how it related to my dominant eye, he felt that operating on only one eye would leave us with nearly all of the benefit while experiencing less medical risk. Despite being minutes from surgery and my payment already remitted in full, Dr. Leong-Sit put my best interest first and delayed the entire surgical team while we amended the paperwork, and the clinic provided me with a substantial refund. It would have been far easier, and twice as profitable to just simply comply with my initial wishes and operate on both eyes, and I'm sure there are other doctors out there that would have done just that. Instead, thanks to Dr. Leong-Sit's experience, professional integrity, and commitment to his practice, I was able to achieve nearly the same results with substantially less risk while also cutting the cost in half. I am very thankful for this guidance and patience during those final few pre-operative minutes. The surgery went like clockwork, I experienced zero side effects, and I now live my life with 20/20 vision without the hassle of corrective lenses. Thank you Dr. Leong-Sit!

I don’t know where to start. First there receptionist should be fired immediately. They didn’t respond to my emails. The call centre you go through to speak to someone is a complete joke and they are not friendly nor welcoming! I will take my $4000 and spend it elsewhere. They should take the “premium” out of there name. Nothing about my experience was “Premium”

How do you like the whole procedure is really depends on how good your consultant is. You only got a very short time to see the doctor. Unfortunately my consultant is not responsive at all. Or maybe I can say she is only responsive when she picks up the call. Everything has to go to that consultant. No other staff will handle your inquiry no matter how urgent it is. The consultant explains everything super fast. If you don’t look at the paper work closely and ask her questions she will assume you know everything VERY well already. She is more like a busy busy business woman but not someone who helps you for an expensive surgery. She forgot to remind me how many hours I should not wear contact lens before the check. She forgot to tell me there are choice of mono vision. She forgot paperwork even after I called her, just told me the doctor is too busy. She made an appointment for me but didn’t tell me if the appointment is in Eye Q or the optimistic nearby my home. When I am confused I have to call back and redirected to her line. That’s mostly a voicemail. No other staff would be willing to help you. Hope you got a better consultant if they have one.

I went there for a free assessment for Laser. First tests were okay... then I should have seen doctor Leong, that was in the office, but they did not give me that chance. Instead I met a lady (not a doctor), that told me I was not a good candidate, without even checking my eyes after drops. On the screen they had, I was able to read my name with a green text "is a good candidate"... Experience looked hurried and not accurate to me.

From the pre-op to the 1st day follow up after my laser surgery, everything was amazing. The staff are all excellent and knowledgeable and Dr. Joseph Leong-Sit exceeded my expectations. Wait times were very short, I don't think I was at the clinic for any of my visits or my surgery for more than an hour. I would highly recommend Eye Q Premium laser.

Amazing Doctor!! And amazing staff!! From our arrival to the end of our appointment we (the appointment was for my 3 year old daughter) were treated with kindness and greeted with smiles, from the front desk staff all the way to Dr Sit. He explains everything throughly and is willing to answer all questions, kindly and truthfully. Although the outcome of our appointment is not the answer I was hoping for, I now go to sleep at night knowing that answer came from the best! I fully trust and accept his opinion and now will just be treating the condition of her eye instead of endlessly searching and worrying about removing the dermoid she was born with. If you are on the hunt for an opthamologist, no need to look any further! You have found the best there is :)

I recently required cataract lens replacement surgery and was referred to Eye Q by my trusted Optometrist. After a relatively reasonable wait time; from referral to surgery - 10 months (I have friends that are still waiting at other places after 2 years!), I had a Toric Inner Ocular Lens replacement done. Dr. Joseph P. Leong-Sit was my surgeon, and I found him to be exceptionally technically outstanding, and very knowledgeable. Daisy, the Cataract Counsellor was very calm, helpful and kind. I was jumpy as could be with the thought of eye surgery, but, in retrospect, there was no need to be. Dr. Leong-Sit and his staff will ensure you are completely and professionally taken care of with care and compassion from start to finish.

Had lasik on both eyes a week ago. I now see better than 20/20. Surgery went perfect. The doctor and his team were terrific and walked me through every step. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you to the whole team at Eye Q Premium Laser. Ps. The front staff was excellent, focused on their jobs, professional and they were diligent with covid measures. I see negative reviews and I disagree with them. Do not let these negative reviews deter you from using Eye Q. I'm a critic at heart and I'm really happy with the treatment I got. They ate great.

Dr. Leong-Sit was very professional and will guide you through the surgery and answer all your concerns. His Laser councillor Danica was great! Full of energy and ball of sunshine explaining the cost, the surgery, the post-op and will set up your one day, 5 days appointments. Good experience, the tapes hurt more than the eye ball sanction. The only dislike I have is that I find that they are very busy and are always on the go so time is sensitive.

The receptionists are pretty rude here. During your wait in the waiting room you can hear them complaining about the patients who call in. Not professional in the slightest. I ended up waiting fir several hours one time. When I asked how long it would be they were quite rude and wouldn’t tell me.Then it turned out that I had been missed somehow and was waiting needlessly.

I have been going to see Dr. Mah for the last 9 years due to my cornea problem and recently in April 2020 he had done my cornea transplant surgery and thus far it has only gotten better throughout the recovery months. Dr. Mah is very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. He always answers any questions that I have in a good manner and I will recommend him to my family and friends. (Dean Fattah)

This review is a bit late, but needed none the less. A few months ago I had an assessment done at Premium Laser. The experience from start to finish was above all other clinics I have visited. As soon as I walked in the receptionist greeted me with a big smile and asked who I was meeting with. She then asked for my plate number, where I would have forgotten otherwise and had received a ticket. I was pulled into different rooms by different people who worked there. Each one of them was pleasent and huge smiles on their face. Dr. Mah then tested to see if I was a candidate, I was. (yay). She then had me meet we Denika who went over what was different between Premium Laser and the other clinics in Edmonton. I was so impressed with her patience with my questions and her knowledge. She was so kind, smiled, and made jokes to calm my nerves. She took her time slowly explaining everything to me, as well as getting into details of aftercare before I even booked a surgery. I am getting married this summer, so she advised me to plan around it because my eyes would be red for wedding photos and that I can not be in the water for a month. The other clinics I went to rushed me through and felt like they just wanted my money. Denika also made sure that I understood the treatment we were doing, and took almost an hour with me to answer my questions. Im so imprssed with this place, and as soon as I get back from my honeymoon I will be booking surgery. If you are thinking of getting eye surgery done, I would go here. I have not even had the surgery done yet and I can not express how great they are enough.

Some (not all) of the staff should be fired. Extremely rude and unprofessional. The one star is for Dr. Dean Mah, the lost of the other four stars is due to the staff. Nothing will be done about the staff, just as long as the money keeps rolling in for their business.

The team at EyeQ is awesome! I’ve had two surgeries done. Both of my surgical experiences were smooth. My counsellor, Kayla, was friendly, organized, helpful and well informed. She ensured that I was provided with all the necessary information before and after my surgery. During both of my surgeries (at different times) I was assisted by different Technicians. Michelle and Ashley were extremely caring and friendly, and talked to me throughout the surgery which made me feel very at ease. Dr. Kurji is always kind, calm, efficient and answers all my questions in great detail.

Very impressed. This is a no pressure establishment. On the day of my surgery, I paid in full to have both eyes done. Dr. Leong-Sit, the refractive surgeon, met with me after I'd paid and right before my surgery for one last check before surgery. He advised me of all the risks, including that given my prescription, if I were to do both eyes, I would guarantee need reading glasses by age 40 or earlier. He had me really second guessing the idea of getting surgery just to ensure I was evaluating the risks and comfortable with my decision. He offered me a few solutions: 1. A full refund of my money so I could take more time to think about it. This is pretty generous as they only do surgeries on Thursday's and are quite busy, so I would be taking up a fairly expensive surgery spot for them. 2. We do one eye and leave the other eye untreated. In this scenario, called monovision, your treated eye learns to see for distance, and your untreated eye is used for reading. He also offered me a full refund of money so I could think about it for a while, or try monovision with contact lenses to see how I liked it. I ended up deciding to do option 2 that day, and have the surgery one in one eye. They refunded me half my money so it was only the price of one eye. The surgery went well and it was surprisingly seamless to adapt to monovision. Anyways, I'm most impressed with how little they pressured me to go ahead with surgery and offering me my money back even when my surgery was only minutes out.

Brought my daughter for her appointment. Sitting in waiting room for an hour. No one would even bother to at the list tell us what is going on, doctor is running late, appologize...just notice us! My daughter is horrified if I say something they might cancel her as a patient. Very disappointed. What if I would bring her an hour late???? Would they be considered ????

Procedure completed Nov 2017. Just finished my 6 month check up and everything is great. 20/20 vision. I used to be at -4.25 and -4.00 prescription before. Very happy with the results. The staff are professional and on time for appointments. The procedure itself was exactly as the doctor described, but there was no pain at all, although there was some discomfort from the pressure that lasted literally a few seconds. Recovery was, again, just as described. Be diligent with the drops. I was cleared to drive after 3 days.

I have been going here for just under two years. The staff and doctors are super friendly. Appointments are not far off like the Olympics. They have a good sized parking lot. The waiting room is calm and the checking process and pre-checks are always well done. They are moving in a couple of months. Will see how the new location is.

The ONLY reason this is not a 5 Star review was because the receptionists give a person the impression that they do NOT like their jobs. Both receptionists were looking at their computers when I approached the desk. Without taking her eyes off the computer one of them said "Can I help you?". Unfortunately, with masks on, I was unable to tell which one had spoke and the one who did looked up, obviously irritated that I had not responded quick enough. When I asked her to change my contact information she blew me off, didn't do it and I had to speak to the other one on my way out. They need to learn that you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

I went with my dad to see Dr. Kurji yesterday. There were tests done with Krista who was so kind with my dad and helped him in his wheelchair. She is a real asset simply because she is humane and helpful. We waited a while to see Dr. Kurji but I know he is very busy. He was also helpful and productive in that he provided a patient care order for my dad for home care, answered my questions courteously and said he would see dad in a year again. He also helped to answer the questions about vision on the disability tax credit form since I don't understand what he wrote on the letter he sent to Dr. Krysa. Dr. Kurji is a busy doctor and he works hard. The office is a busy business but there are kind people there like Krista. You will be taken care of. For seniors, it's hard to wait in a wheelchair but it's part of modern medicine to learn to wait.
