Very friendly, welcoming and helpful, from front desk staff to Randi, the Notary Public (and a couple of the lawyers who did step into into lobby while I was present and made pleasantries). Also a nice, tidy and inviting office in a convenient location. After searching for a full month, needing an affidavit witnessed and notarized from another Province, I thought I was out of luck or paying literally hundreds of dollars.
The MPP's office can assist for free with Commissioners of Oathes (only valid within the same Province however and with a number of limitations) and City Hall has a Notary Public in once weekly (but is only unable to notarize anything to do with wills) but very fortunately referred me to Fleck Law, who will take non clientele without issue for a fair rate. (He had contacted firms prior to be able to refer those in need.)
I failed to research Point Edward and contacted every single law firm in Sarnia, only one got back to me with insistence that I require a lawyer (I do not at this time) and wanted to charge me $360.00 ("possibly more if I took up more of their time") for one notarized page and one witnessed signature on a two page affidavit, along with booking a one hour appointment to review the entire will which I personally find rather personal.
When I contacted Fleck Law, they apologized they were unable to get me in immediately on a Friday but they could in the morning on the next following business day which was very appreciated. Randi was very accommodating and helpful, she reviewed the pages of the will which had changes, notarized the affidavit and witnessed my signature, along with also including a sealed letter affirming who she is and certifying all information which was a nice added touch for any verification and/or legal purposes.
Based on my overall experience, I will definitely highly recommend and also utilize Fleck Law should I be in need (which is a likelihood in the coming year once the will is finalized). Thank you again for your assistance and so quickly too!
