Hit or miss to both ends of the spectrum. Sometimes staff is friendly and really helpful. Those off times that they're not friendly, they're REALLY rude. I understand why, I'm not a fan of customer service myself, but the attitude transfers between "customers" and you'll get rudeness right off the bat.

The employees are very unprofessional, rude, and attack the customers. The female tester already had an attitude before I even got out of the office. The staff is very unwelcoming and they seem to just want your money. I will not return and I don’t recommend going here if you want to pass and want decent customer service and basic respect.

3 times in one week I was very disappointed ! Trying to renew my liscense plate. I arrived late afternoon at 5:55 pm, the doors were locked up, and the people inside ignored me at the door. Returned next day earlier, produced my drivers and current insurance papers, and another renewed AMVIC document that took about 3 weeks to get typed into amvic computer from time of confirmed online payment. then I get told I needed a copy of business liscense. Left again being disappointed. Returned on 3rd attempt bringing with me an original home ocupense permit / business liscense as issued as a permanent permit to operate automotive business legally in the county of Kneehill. They said this permit not acceptable, even though I explained how the County issues there rural business permits, and further that these permits never expire. I then asked to talk to a supervisor, who didn't seem to have a proper answer. Next the lady I was dealing with made a phone call to some unknown government authority, and in my opinion did not properly explain our issue. When the lady got off the phone, again she said not acceptable. I asked her to phone my County Office to get official response regarding my County Permit, she declined to make the call. I then asked her to give me the phone number and name to the govt agency she had just talked to. She refused to give persons name, refused to give me the phone number, and even refused to name what I presumed to be Alberta Government agency to call, the lady kept saying it was a "Secret Number" So I asked her why on previous occasions my paper from the County had been acceptable for last several years. She denied that they would ever accept my business permit the way it was written up. I explained to her that they indeed accepted this exact document on several occasions over the years. She claimed that couldn't be true. Now this issue went further when I asked if I could get a "In Transit Sticker", she reluctantly said yes, but she needed to see a bill of sale, to which I replied it's in my email. She then said again those words "NOT ACCEPTABLE", and when I said I could forward it to their computer to print out, she said they can't do do that ! Same thing when I asked to get a regular plate, my emailed Bill of Sale "NOT ACCEPTABLE" Now all these 3 lost days I was simply trying to get my plate sticker renewed so I could legally go to Calgary to pick up a truck I had purchased. She then replied she had to have the bill of sale in original "INK" and not any printed email copy. The odd part is when you show them a business permit, I don't recall them ever taking a copy to attach to the renewal paper work, which of course in mind I am thinking WHY do they even ask to see my business permit when I show them my strict hard to get AMVIC liscense for the province of Alberta. So again I cheerfully left their office with a bundle of my paper work, and decided I will have to drive with expired plate. By now I am 3 days past due on paying for my truck purchase at the Calgary auction place, so I proceeded towards Calgary as I have people waiting to see me. BUT, I don't give up easy, and before I got to my destination in Calgary, I decided no harm in trying a different registry place, and it took less than 6 minutes to get my beloved sticker. I thought my luck had turned around, and so happy to finally get my plate sticker. I walked out to parking lot, removed my plate, cleaned as best I could over the proper spot, applied the sticker correctly, bolted the plate back onto the bumper. With a big smile I walk to the drivers door, and I glance down at my boot, and yup, there was my sticker......fell off the plate and at least it landed on my boot ! So tomorrow it's off to the registries to attempt to get a new sticker !

I went there last saturday to register a used car i bought its a 1999 honda,the lady told me that i need inspection because my vin number in the car is the same with the vin on the bill of sale if its not same then i need initial of the previous owner, so i went for inspection, i passed then i went to one stop at the north end and i was shocked coz they told me that they dont need the inspection because my insurance is active and they did not request for inspection so one stop registered my car, and i dont know if vital stat will reinburst my inspection, that lady should resign right away!

Service is slow as snail. It has been a long run around process. I’ve been in at least 5 times to deal with the same issue and every time I go, something else comes up. Everyone gives different info. One stop is much faster, friendlier and informative.

Never coming to this place again. So after waiting for almost half an hour in line I present the bill of sale for a trailer registration, that I bought in Saskatchewan. Of course its an email printout from my emailed bill of sale. He looks at me all puzzled and precededs to tell me that he needs an original and nothing else will do. I explain the details and respond by saying that I bought it from far away and it was emailed to me and I can show him my email and all that but he insists about the original. Really??? Grabbed my printed copy in anger and went to Millennium Center where nice lady took my paper and I had my plate in my hands 10 min later with no stupid questions asked. I was also able to pick the numbers from available 10 plates. Wow what a service. Needless to say I will not put my foot and give them my bussines ever again! Thanks for wasting an hour of my time.

Everytime i go its always a hassel they nit pick every little thing and make registering a hassel combined with grumpy attitudes and being very unhelpful this is twice now so i will be going to one stop from now on at least they accully treat customers with respect and try to help where they can instead brushing you of their shoulder.

This is a truly awful experience if you find yourself deficient in one of the many inflexible requirements they require of their customers. My situation is when you have lost your wallet, including picture ID, cash and bank cards. Fortunately, (I thought) I had the tap-function installed on my smartphone. My first question was: "do you allow payment via "tap-to pay?" The answer was a direct and unsympathetic "no." I asked if there could be some other arrangement for payment, such as a post-dated cheque, or a promissory note. Once again, a very intransigent and clear refusal. After waiting nearly 2 hours, I was forced to leave without any sort of options or encouragement. I hardly think I would be the only one in these rapidly-evolving times to find myself in such a predicament. I would recommend spending the time and effort required to seek out better alternatives, with a more cooperative and helpful attitude. As a result, it required considerably more effort and time on my part to accomplish the same tasks. The attitude being demonstrated here was that of zero-tolerance for any form of accommodation towards the customer, behaving in effect, as a "local monopoly," and some notion of "zero-sum," which seeks to "gain" at the customers' expense.

If you are wondering where you should book your driving test, this is 100% the place to go!!! I can't say enough good things about Tim, he is so easy going and supportive, and he does everything he can to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed. I avoided getting off my GDL for so long because I was scared and wasn't sure where to go; now, having done the test with him, I highly recommend that anyone who wants/needs to do their test to do it with him! He wants to see you succeed and truly cares about you and your competence on the road. The reception staff were also amazing to deal with both times I came in - very friendly and helpful! Will definitely be coming here from now on.

I understand you need to do your job but you have no consideration to give me some credit for all the good points of my driving skill. I have to get an ID card. I came in on two different occasions the first time I was refused as my support documents were over 6 months old. She explained to me very nicely what I needed to bring in. Today I brought exactly what she had asked for and the girl that looked after me informed me that I needed a marriage certificate from my first marriage 42 years ago. She was rude and basically blew me off. I have my drivers license, an Alberta Health Care card, a Shaw bill and something from Stats Canada. I need the ID so I can help my family through this Covid-19 pandemic. Not so I can impersonate myself and steal all my own money.I have no idea why she was trying to make it so hard for me?

The instructor (TIM) is the only reason we went to this registry. Dont have anything, but good things to say about him. Makes you feel relaxed and calm during the test. Makes sure you understand what mistake you have made. The most ignorant and rude staff i have ever met. So abrupt and crude, you feel like ur a homeless begging for something. The sense of customer service is lost here. I went in with some refund issue. As stated on their website that refunds are allowed with a small fee, i requested the refundable amount back. They acted like this was a favor to me. There are hidden third party website charges that they dont mention on their website. When i questioned this, and asked why this wasn't mentioned on the Vital registry, they couldn't give a proper answer. But argued with us like nobody's business. Several weeks later when my wife went for her driving exam, they started bringing that old refund issue we had several weeks ago. I wish i was there to give them a piece of my mind. Only go here for the instructor. Otherwise the Registry in mellinium center can do all your work for you with a smile

I took my motorcycle test as well as my advanced GDL test here. The examiner Tim is a great guy with a thorough and accurate method of judging your driving. He will be sure to give you some great pointers of how to improve even the most seasoned drivers bad habits. I have been to other registries for testing including One Stop and have been very unhappy with the arbitrary methods of their road testing. If you are looking to take a driving test, this is the place. And make sure to ask for Tim as the instructor, bring him a coffee too!

Went today to renew my handicapped card; walked inside without mask, as I am medical exempt, just to be confronted with very rude woman, demanding I put mask on! I told her 3 times, very nicely, I am medical exempt, and don't wear mask, that I need just my handicapped card to be renewed, she said, nope, it is their policy, no mask no service! I asked her to accomodate me, NOPE no mask no policy!! So I am reporting them to Human Rights, as well as other bodies that they are regulated with, as I needed my document, and they refused service to me due to my DISABILITY!!!! I will never go back to that location, ever!!!

Great place for a road test. Took my Class 6 test here. Christina was awesome and fair. The debrief was thorough about mistakes made and impovements I could work on to become a better rider. Service from the clerks was great from check-in to re-classifying my licence after I passed the test.

DO NOT GO HERE. The lady that does the road test obviously doesn’t know that when in residential areas with a play ground the speed limit is 30. She’ll look for any reason the fail you. Your left turn was wobbly even when you’re on your lane. Or you only checked the intersection before your turn not when you were turning. I heard a lot about her poor and unfair scoring skills, but I stupidly still let her test me. Ooh yh, and she’ll arrogantly give you road instructions. Like she can drive with anyone giving her instructions in such manne. ❌❌❌ Do not go here, it’s a pleasure for them to have you keep paying for road tests.

Worst experience ever. Go elsewhere for your driving test if you want honesty and accountability. I suggest AMA, as the testers are held to a standard; unlike here. I passed at AMA, on the first try, with no issue, and without being insulted by the tester. Driving Tester: Tim - is crazy. He yelled at me before we even backed the car out of the stall, and then tried to say that I was yelling at him. After that, he realized that I had a dash cam, and attempted to rip the power cord out of it. A real authoritarian, with a real attitude. Not fit to be testing anyone for anything. Tim has a phobia of the accountability that dash cams provide; so don't attempt to use one for one of "his" tests. Manager: Deb - is complacent. She gave me a bad phone number to call; stating "it is what you need to do to get a refund". I wasted hours on the phone with this bad number, only to find out that Deb is the one who can issue a refund. I called vital documents back to request that this bad phone number not be given out to people, as it is wastes people time, and is misleading. Vital documents response: We'll call the cops on you if you try and contact us again!! Avoid this place if you expect good service, and don't want rude people attempting to criminalize you after taking your money.

Kim spent over 2 hours on the phone fighting FOR me, worked through her lunch break and made sure that I left happy and without worry. If you are courteous and remember that these ladies are not magicians that can make everything happen instantly, and work with them, they will bend over backwards to help you.

absolutely awesome people. I arrived at least 30 minutes before my driving test. My car was not fit to be used since as I forgot bill of sale at home. Roxanna handled the issue so well, she created a calm environment which I really needed for my test. She also suggested that I can ask my friend to help me with her car. I did and the test went so well. She was so supportive. I recommend Christine, a road test examiner. She is so nice, she did not make me nervous at all. She explains why and how you lost points. I am glad I passes my road test.

Somebody recommended this place to me and i am so glad I listened. Tim is so friendly and so real. He strives to make you feel comfortable and acts like he really cares. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Some people are unhappy with service at the front desk and it's true... They are unmotivated and not that friendly but tim makes up for it. If you are unsure about taking your road test here I say go for it !

There was no line surprisingly when I was in there on a Saturday. The staff was loud and obnoxious. While writing a knowledge exam I could only concentrate on the lady yammering about the sunlight. They can’t book a road test? Was told they can’t book road tests and that it’s up to me to book the test online. On the provincial website it clearly states to call your registry if you don’t want to book online. The province has changed the rules on road tests and Vital has made no effort to accommodate customers to the new rules. They took my ~$17 for the knowledge test and then gave me a blank stare when I asked to take a road test. Waste of time and money.

Absoulataly a disgrace, took a day of work to lend my daughter my 2018 car, which was bought directly from dealership. My daughter never even got as far as the drivers seat when the female examiner refused to take her because I had a slight tint on my windows. On investigating the tint I am told it is factory tinting. Vital Registry refused to refund or reschedule the appointment.

I've been coming here since getting ripped off at One St*p (ID photo did not meet the size requirement but they would not honor their guarantee they will redo the photo for free if it got rejected). No issues so far. The staff here have been polite enough. Maybe they got a long line-up here because many others have also been unstratified with that other place?

Highly recommend Tim to anybody. I'm a nervous driver and he made me feel so confident during the test. Straight shooter, honest, and genuinely wants to keep everyone safe on the road. The front desk staff (one person, not all) was a rude bag beyond all reason. Could tell she really hates her job. I received 0 respect as a paying customer. The only good thing about this place is Tim.

Always long wait, grumpy and rude staff that won't help you. Never take a learners test or driving exam here they will always fail you at least once to get more money from you. Go to one stop instead

Very rude and judgemental lady I had to deal with. Waited 45 patient minutes to be turned away a minute into sitting down because the girl could not read the Bill of sale even though it was very legible. She told me to go back to the seller which was in Edmonton to have them initial the VIN because it was so short due to it being a Japanese import. She said “what even is this car” in a very aggressive manner. Needless to say I won’t be back. Went up the hill to One stop and got my car registered in a minute no less.

My dad and I went to this place and this place is horrible. It is busy but the employees is so slow Like a snail. The old woman that helped me didn't greet me and not very helpful at all. She is very rude to you. English is my second language but she repeated many times at how I can't understand her. What if I say cursed words to her? would she understand me then?. She gave me a paper which contains the necessary items that I would need but it is for the wrong one. I tried asking for my dad's help but she said to me that I should leave. I have never been humiliated in my life like that, no, not with a person working for the service industry. I will never come back to this place. Afterwards I went to a one stop and everything went smoothly so don't come to this place. If I could give -5 ⭐️ I would! Don't waste your time and go anywhere else but this place.

usual dmv experience. sad staff with a mix of crazy. limited by what they can do for you as government restrictions bind them tight. you shovel out money to them and cant figure out where it goes

Tim is amazing! Fair and puts you at ease. Teaches you while you are taking your driving test and sincerely wants the experience to be a good on for the person being tested. I waited 20 years to take my test cause i was scared of doing it. Had i known earlier about Tim i would have been driving years ago. Young or old this is where you want to go for your drivers testing!!!

I have never had a problem here. They do not charge are 50 cent interact transaction fee like (One Stop HELL in town does). They are excellent and Tim the driving tester is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Staff is exceptional here! 2021. Now they are charging a transaction fee of 50 cents.

Lyle was my instructor for my road test, and he was super kind and really made the road test like it was an average drive. I was really nervous during the test, but he spoke with a very calm voice to not make me feel anxious during the drive.

Very poor experience here. The girls behind the counter have wasted my time over and over again. Half the time they don't know what they're doing and the other half they are doing it wrong. I have been given inaccurate information. (IE. Taking a copy of an OOP is not acceptable) or just wrong information because they don't know. Again very poor service I advise the company to hire some competent workers behind that counter. I will say one good thing, the instructors that do the driving tests are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Spent 3 hours in there today. It should have taken no more than 2 hours. I realize that today is very busy however my daughter booked her road test online, we were there 30 minutes ahead of the appointment with all papers in hand. The examiner was excellent. The woman we saw afterwards to pay and have my daughter's photo taken was jonesing for something: a smoke, some meth, a drink etc. She was incompetent on the computer, making mistake after mistake, she scratched her neck, her back, her sides, her face. She kept making odd facial gestures, like she was having minor seizures. She was rude to us, and I don't know why. We were polite to her. It's not our fault if her computer is slow. I work in administration and if any of my people acted that way I would have them drug tested and given a reprimand. There's no reason that we were treated so poorly. Paula Ferreira
