Local history room has lots of interesting photos and tidbits, like a picture of a giant wheel of cheese that was at the opening of a local grocery store.

Nice clean building. Organized and ran efficiently. The children’s library has so many books to choose from, as does the young adult and mature section. Summer reading program had great prizes keeping kids motivated to read throughout the summer. No Sunday hours, which is kind of a bummer...but they do have extended hours throughout the week. Kids love it!!

Most online places have newer movies but Decatur public library has older movies which are the classics to me anyway loved running up the stairs when I was a kid to go to the kids section always met the allowed limit of check out nice building and good atmosphere

I love the Decatur Public Library!!! I go often to checkout books and movies. It's a wonderful place. The librarians are so helpful. If the library doesn't have what I am looking for they can usually get it for me.

Decatur IL has one one of the most Quiet and Clean libraries in Central Illinois. Absolutely Fantastic!!! Reading is definitely FUNdamental in this environment at this location!!! Very comfortable atmosphere and the Staff are amazingly bright and helpful. Very Resourceful!!! Two thumbs up!!!
