Incredible service, and helpful, patient considerate staff members. 5 ????????????????????plus service. When I relocated to Alberta from Ontario It was a very trying time switching everything over/ licence, healthcare/ vehicle registration etc and Lyndsey and Rosanne truly went above and beyond to help make this transition Smoothly. Some of the staff here need a good lesson on customer service, if you don't like to work with the public then why are you working here?! The lady that "helped" hardly even said 5 words to us, and just sat slouched in her chair not happy to be there. I had the worst experience ever, it seems like the staff there are paid to be rude and offensive to the customers. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go the Lethbridge Vehicle Licensing & Registry, the staff and the examiners there are rude and racist. I suggest anyone to go anywhere else but here. I personally ended up going to Chaparral Registry on the west side of Lethbridge and you can feel as soon as you walk in that people in that office and nice and helpful, they take the time to explain things to you in a very polite way.

Called to ask regarding obtaining a healthcare number and the guy on the line was extremely rude and unprofessional. First off, I can hear him sighing on the other line. And then he just keeps on saying, well I don’t know what you’re talking about. Like really? Can’t word that any better?

The entrance have a notice to grab a number and wait in the car until the number show up in the display screen. My number was 6 and the running number was 5 on the screen. Waited in the car for few minutes to see the number jumped to 8. In between there were customers who walked in who never waited in the line. I walked in and explained the lady on the counter that number 6 never came up. She casually ignored me saying "it did come up" and the service she provided afterwards was not friendly at all. Please do not have those instructions on the entrance if that is not the way you operate. Be humble when providing a service. Your customers are the reason you have a job.

Horrendous driving examiner. I went in two days ago to complete my advanced road test. I was a few minutes early (a miracle for me, I have four young children) and the examiner, Joe, was immediately short with me and said "It's a good thing you showed up, I was just about to go home." Not even a word of greeting. It seems he expected me to come 30-60 minutes early in order to wait in the extremely long line in order to pay and show my license to the clerk. I thought the road test went well until he showed me my score at the end. He asked me if I was familiar with roundabouts and then proceeded to tell me that you are supposed to signal when ENTERING a roundabout as well as exiting, which is false. I have since confirmed this by reading the Transportation Alberta website as well as the entire traffic section of the Alberta Driver's Manual. I spoke this morning to a lady at the Driver Programs and Licensing Standards office who agreed that she also could not find any instructions saying to signal going INTO the roundabout, only exiting. He also deducted 20 points for "hits curb hard". At no time did I go up on the curb. While parallel parking, I hit the curb gently once, possibly twice, although I'm not even sure that I even hit the curb the second time. If I did, then I just barely touched it. Then he also deducted 30 points for not checking my blind spot. I performed all my shoulder checks according to the four step method of changing lanes - check mirrors, turn on signal, shoulder check, change lanes. (I was also driving in a car equipped with blind spot monitoring but it seems that's irrelevant to testing - same with the backup camera as I also lost 30 points for not turning around 360 degrees in my seat to look behind me while backing up. Never mind that the camera can show me way more than what I can see while sitting in the driver's seat). I will be sending in a written statement to Driver Programs and Licensing Standards regarding my test in order to appeal. Joe treated me as an inconvenience most of the test and then didn't even say goodbye when he exited my vehicle. He talked about how he hates working Saturdays and won't be working weekends anymore as of May. I paid $118 for this test and in addition to disputing the test results, I will be filing a chargeback with my credit card company. Glad I paid with my credit card.

On the several occasions I have visited this location, I regularly wait for 30 minutes to an hour before being able to meet with a staff member. The staff were definitely helpful and knowledgeable when it was my turn, but the wait can make business difficult at any time of day, but never try coming between 3 and 4 pm.

I’ve been to this registry many times in the last few years. I’m a very polite and punctual person, especially when talking to government workers. Their customer service is some of the worst I have seen anywhere. Every time I have visited, they have been condescending and rude. I echo the same feelings as lots of people on these reviews when it comes to the employees rolling their eyes and sighing when you are just trying to do something simple. I will always convince people to do their business elsewhere. Edit: Thanks for the canned response, Dave. You certainly care.

Again I was reminded why I drive those extra kl when I went in recently & received the most friendly and courteous service explaining an issue I was unclear about.. this is the absolute slowest worst service registery I have ever used. stood in line for 45 minutes, listened to one of the ladies ramble on to a customer about vehicle titles (she had no idea what she was talking about), another couldn't do anything without having to ask the girl beside her to do it for her. it was painful. go anywhere else but here unless you have an hour too wait in line.

As far as the staff go, I’d give it five stars. It is also very convenient to have a registry office that is actually open until 6:00, and open on Saturday! Very helpful indeed. The wait times here are the problem. Perhaps that is an indication of how good the service is, but for a simple transaction you ought to budget 30-45 minutes.

I would give this business less than three stars if it hadn't been for the service I, myself, received. However, my partner receive horrible service. He was in earlier yesterday and gave the incorrect address and wanted to fix it when I went after work before the id was issued. The lady that helped him was very rude and condescending. He admitted he made the mistake and she told him there would be a fee to change it. He agreed and had no problem paying this extra fee. She continued to berate him that it was his fault and he would not get his id if he screwed up the address again and "next time make sure you check". There was absolutely NO NEED for her to say a single word about it after we agreed to pay the fee since it was his mistake. On the other hand, the employee that helped me change my address was very pleasant and helpful. She joked around about the moving process and changing addresses. Exceptional service from her! But the one that helped my partner was, again, very rude and disrespectful. Treated him like he was an idiot and a child for making a simple mistake of forgetting the apartment number on the address.

For registry and all this isn’t a bad place but I recently had a terrible experience when trying to upgrade to advanced class 5 with joe. He was grumpy the entire time and I’m 99% sure he gave me points for a few things that DID NOT HAPPEN! I went to a different registry office and passed with flying colours. For road tests I will not recommend this place to anyone looking to upgrade. Just a money grab.

I went here to remove "Condition A" off my drivers license. I had a horrible experience with a lady named Erika; she seemed to believe that she had more credibility than an eye doctor. I had a doctors note that stated i met the requirements of the road, but she still wanted me to take the exam. When I was taking the exam i could not understand her as English was not the best ; but that is no excuse for her to raise her voice. She refused to work with me after i raised a complaint. So i decided to go somewhere else. AMA was extremely helpful as they knew a doctors not was more credible than their own test. It took less than 5 minutes at AMA. I recommend not coming here.

Do not go here for your Advanced Class 5. Went yesterday to a different registry and failed because of stopping too close to the stop line, not the crosswalk for the stop sign, but the stop line. Booked and went today as need for a new job offer and they would not take out because of cracked windshield, which is not in the line of vision, and was not even mentioned at the other registry yesterday. Was a very grumpy atmosphere as a whole as well. I would not even give this registry 1 star. Money grab for sure. 0/10 recommend. Perhaps I could afford a new windshield with the job offer I had...

Multiple BAD experiences there. Worst customer service that I've ever seen in my entire life. There were 4 clerks and none of them knew how to exchange the Japanese driver license to Canadian driver license, I had everything that I needed to do that but they informed me that the document that I had wasn't enough and insisted to me to return to Japanese consulate LOCATED IN CALGARY to put their telephone number into document that was issued by consulate. It was no sense because in the document was very clear that the document was issued in the Consulate General of Japan with signature of Consul and the date/Location. Went to another registration office in the town and got my driver license with no problem. Don't go there if you don't want to stress out.

Rude, rude, toxic work place. This is customer service at its worse! Went here yesterday to pay a ticket and ask questions about demerits and demerit reduction. Waited in line. The one teller turned away a black family in front of me, saying they didn't have time to deal with them today. Then when I approached window, and started talking, she turned away half way through my sentence, clearly not caring to listen to my question. During our conversation where she rudely interrupted me, ignored me and rolled her eyes and sighed, her coworker jumped in. Leaning forward from her desk, employee #2 spoke loudly and clipped her words like I was deaf or unable to comprehend. Which is not the case, I just don't know anything about demerits. Also the customer next to me, left to go out to her car and grab something. Two other workers there, laughed to each other, made faces and rolled their eyes. I'd advise taking your business elsewhere. Im going to tell everyone I know to go somewhere else. Its ironic they have signs up about "harassing employees" Looking forward to company reply, that faint "we dont really care about your opinion apology, please talk to Dave" Response to Dave: I understand the lack of general knowledge around demerit point ( I myself have zero) and I understand when you work in an office you may have council with your peers. Neither of these are excuses to be rude. Not listening to me finish my sentence and rolling your eyes, has nothing to do with a lack of knowledge, it has entirely to do with bad manners. Perhaps if staff is overwhelmed they need to take a break and compose themselves. I can't speak for everyone on here but I'm sure you saying "contact me so we can talk about your experience", doesn't persuade many customers to speak to a manager who, from the sounds of your response below, will support your staff, not take them seriously and youre only doing it because it's required as part of your job. With other registry options, that are better staffed in town, its easier to take our business elsewhere. Because you know there's probably tons of unsatisfied people who don't bother to respond here.

I had my friend go there and he was on time for his appointment and had to wait in line for 3 minutes tops, and the lady at the registry refused to let him take his license because he was "late". Are you kidding me???? He had to stand in line to wait...and the lady wanted to take his money even though she said he couldn't take his lisence! I would NOT recommend anyone to take their license test through them!!!!

Took my non-gdl drivers test with joe the other day and he was very professional while still being kind. He would talk to me a little bit, which is always a nice tension release while doing tests, and would just ask random questions which could keep me talking during the test. He let me focus when I needed to. When I got back to the registry office there was a little mix up with my payment I did through the phone two days before but that got cleared up really quickly. The staff were very helpful and friendly; being patient with all of the paperwork I had to go through to add that I wanted to become on organ donor on my license as well. The lady who took my photo for my license even let me check to see if I liked the picture! Overall I had a very good experience here and definitely would recommend to everyone.

Needed to register a vehicle that was out of town, told us we had to have an original bill of sale. Well the dealership keeps the originals. Tried to sell us a 30 dollar transit pass so we could go get the vehicle then return to Lethbridge (still would have only had a copy of the BOS). Went to Astro and we were out and on the road in 5 minutes, new plate in hand. Used these guys a lot when we lived in town, we'll never go here again.

I called to have my ex-husband removed from my registration (we each have a vehicle but are on the registration for both) and they informed me I had to go through a whole bill of sale process which is very inconvenient when I don't even speak with this person. When I did ask him to sign the bill of sale he told me that he had already gone to the office, paid $25 and they just removed me from his vehicle. I had no idea. No bill of sale needed apparently when the man goes in to have it done. Employees need to get on the same page. EDIT: I will say that I contacted YOU (not the other way around) and my problem was thankfully dealt with quickly with I appreciate. But you did not try and contact me multiple times. I was contacted the next day after calling in by someone at the Lethbridge south office and that was it.

Went to pay a ticket i received from my employer in a company vehicle. They said they can't do it, they need the actual paperwork. So I left and called another registration company. They said they can do it no problem! All they did was send my email copy to them selfs and printed it off! Thanks chaparrals registration! Your a real problem solver!

Thankful for how helpful LVLR is. I sent a message asking on how to get new AHC cards for my daughters and I as well as a address change AND name change on my I.D. They replied right away with all the answers. I also called them when we were stuck in Calgary and they directed me to the nearest registry office up there as well as helped us with our passport issues. 10/10!! My wife went in to renew her License which was way past her expiry date, that is her fault. The first customer agent was very nice and told her what she needed. She went back and had a different agent she was trying to log in to her City of Lethbridge to get a bill in her name but was not working. So I Logged in and sent a pdf to her phone. The second customer agent accused her of faking the bill and told her to leave and try her scam somewhere else.

Stood in line for 30 minutes and did not move once. The girls working decided having a personal conversation was more important than helping customers. Not only was it busy and slow service but one lady working decided it was an appropriate time to shut down and leave for her lunch when she clearly noticed a line of people waiting. If you have an entire day to waste, go here. Will never be going back to this location. AMA is way better.

Not very happy, went to register my vehicle, checked the web site said there’d were open but when I got there they where closed. With a notice on the door that we are closed for Easter break, that’s is fine but I think you should have update tour web site if your gonna be closed. As I was sitting in the parking lot I counted at least 23 people who came to do business here and left. Most of them shaking there heads and walking away frustrated

Had a good experience here. The employees Rosanna and Alise (guessing their name spellings) were very patient and super friendly despite having to do a lengthy service for us today, having a long line, etc. Although some customers who come after us were upset that we had taken a long time, the staff were super calm with great customer service and trying to help us greatly to get our health card and driver's license all transferred from out of province. I will come here to get my services processed from now on.

The driver instructor (#10694) was super rude to my younger brother when he was trying to get his class 5 drivers test. He arrived early and checked in and one of the tellers told them to come back at the test time. So he did, the instructor snapped at him saying was late, even though he was told he could leave and come back. When he handed her the insurance and registration for the truck he was driving, my mom had the incorrect pink slip. She told him if he got even a picture to her that it would be fine. It was sent to her in less than 5 minutes. She told him that he was out of time, meanwhile she continued to ramble and lecture at him even though she told him there will be no test. He walked out because she was so rude to him, even if she gave him a chance to drive, she would've failed him. He was devastated. My mom called and even the teller agreed with my mom that it was unacceptable. Will never go there again. There is already enough issues with COVID that no kid should have to get punished for another persons mistake and get treated so horribly. They need new driving instructors.

Do not book your road test here. I did for my GDL and they failed me horribly! I booked at another place and passed, with a score of 20 out of 75. At the new place, we reviewed it after he said there was "really nothing he could give me a bad score on". This place just cost be an extra $150.00. Thanks!

Second time going to get my health card renewed, first time there was no one there who could do it and the second time I called ahead to make sure I had everything I would need and to make sure there was staff who could do it. The man on the phone said I’d just need a copy of my visa. Go down wait x amount of time in queue to find out I was given the wrong information over the phone and will now have to go a third time!!

Always have wonderful service. I took my Class 5 Adv road test here and they were very understanding and looking out for success. I was extremely nervous and both the examiner and the customer service lady were very respectful and helped me through the process. The examiner I had was a very professional man who helped me improve my driving while still keeping the test casual. It's definitely not the easiest test but he made it a great experience. Afterward, the customer service lady was so kind! She was very friendly and talkative and really eased my nerves after the test. Wonderful people working here and examiners that they bring in. Would recommend taking your Class 5 Adv road test here and any other registration needs :)

took my elderly uncle here to renew his licence. The instructor walked out to his car and failed him immediately for his FACTORY tint on his windows then failed him the second time for driving too slow while the whole time he maintained the speed limit. If you want any kind of a fair chance to get your licence or respect then don't go to these clowns.

Every other service is good. But if you are going to take any road tests and get assigned to Joe, be prepared to fail. His grumpy attitude does not help new drivers. 4 stars for for other services and no star for the road tester.

Place is a money grab, staff are sometimes friendly if u are lucky. Driving test is over $100 and u are almost guranteed to fail the first time. I was told that signalling at a round about isn't needed until you are inside, the round about was just a giant pylon plunked in the middle of an intersection, not a proper one. Which is false. On the parallel parking i was docked because he thought i was too far from the curb but he never measured or.checked (book says 18 inches). Lastly, while driving through henderson where there are tons of kids and families i was docked 30pnts for tapping my breaks before the cross walks where kids sometimes cross w/o lookong, he said because it was too slow, but i never went below 40

Take a number get in line, ez right? Got my tag n got in line waited 20 minutes, got inside! People walked in (had no tags) and were served right away. I got to the front and was told to get a NEW tag and get to the back. I asked aloud and was confirmed by karen, new tag and to the back. I went to MCKILLOP and spent less time there than the 1st line at lethbridge vehicle licensing. Un like LVL mckillop is professional and courteous.

If I could give zero stars I would. Everytime I come here I regret it. The atmosphere of some the employees is awful. Some have zero costumer service skills and really don't hide that they hate being there. They are rude and condescending, make you feel like you ask stupid questions, rolling their eyes, and shaking their heads. I went in there yesterday and the woman that helped us, seemed miserable to be there and had us sign a document we have never done before, if we asked questions she was blatantly annoyed that she had to help. I was very close to leaving and making sure she knew how rude she was, however we had already spent an hour getting the work done on my lunch break that we had no time to go elsewhere. Ive seen those zero tolerance policy for rudeness from costumers hanging everywhere, however could see why some people may react poorly to some of the staff there. Maybe they need to adapt their own policy to themselves. Just dont go here for registry needs, much better costumer service, literally anywhere else.

Hours are great, staff is cool, line up can be a bit much. E: after some time I've decided to change my review. Aggressively unhelpful. Will tell you two totally different things over the phone and in person. Generally unknowledgeable, often have told me I didn't need documents when I did and vice versa. Surly and defensive when questioned. Avoid. E2: Sent away from here again, went to chaparral on the west side with the exact same paperwork and flew through no problem after 3 wasted trips and two wasted phone calls. Never coming back here again.
