Unreal!! My father is at the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease, he is of sound mind 85%-90% of the time (which I explained) anddddd I also have a doctors note to vouch for this... I was simply asking for POA seeing as his wife recently passed (he never even got far enough to find this out) and let's face it, better do this now to protect him before he gets worse... He is currently well enough and I was advised by everyone including many social workers, doctors and then some to get a notary. This a**hat of notary was so rude and showed no compassion whatsoever. He kept saying, I cannot help you, how will I be able to tell if he is of sound mind, and this after he asked me for the doctor's note and all. I told him I would be present and obviously he can tell by spending more than 3 mins on the phone with me. He hadn't even asked me any other questions. I asked him what I could do or what he would need as I do not know how to proceed and all, seeing as just the fact that I need this in the first place saddens me to no end. He rudely kept telling me, I cannot help you and when he thought I didn't hear him he interrupts me and YELLS "I CANNOT HELP YOU" and in a fit of disbelief and RAGE, I told him to f* off.... Which is so out of character for me but oh mannnnn did he honestly deserve it. I never leave reviews but in this case, I just had to. Avoid this man, and if you don't, I sincerely hope he treats you with the dignity you deserve! F* off sincerely Mr. Catalano!

I went to do a will, and he said in a very condescending way that the way I wanted to do it was uncommon. I found 2 other notaries who were willing to do it for me, so I guess it’s just uncommon to him.

A prudent professional will on occasion decline to take a matter if he/she sees legal problems down the road! Clearly, in the case of the critic of today's date, (who identified herself on the phone by a different name), the decision not to accept the matter was the correct one given her approach.
