I came here to serve my jury duty and was impressed with the friendly and professional service. The staff are courteous and helpful with a positive attitude, making jury duty a pleasant experience. Will be glad to serve again !

Nicole Dawson

Friendly knowledgeable efficient staff.

If you happen to be that lucky county resident summoned for obligatory jury duty, hope that you land in the orientation room with Miguela Kincaid. ((Spelling??)) She is just what was needed to make the most of an otherwise dreaded task. She reiterated the importance of your role as a prospective juror, spiced in the humor and made you appreciate the complimentary coffee in the breakroom. For which, I am especially appreciative this morning...

the magistrates and those who decide in family cases and more in custody cases are definitely the worst, the law is applied inpartially, the law is blind.

Excellent service, Charles was very good

Drove all the way out to the court only to find out that they weren’t open even though their phone service says that they opened June 5th. Had to pay for parking which was a waste!!!

Gloria Nelson-Johnson

This court is worst phone system customer service ever. I have been on hold for at least two hours. Hung up on at least five times. Told I would receive a call back twice last week and I never did from paralegal. And have left at least three voice mails for the same guy. I am so upset. I hope someone who can do something about this will read this review and get this court in Prince Georges county together. I really am considering moving from this place.

The help desk line is a joke. I had someone pickup the phone and hang up on me three times. This makes me wonder if the service in the physical location is just as bad. If I could give my experience a negative five stars I would.

Roland Lovett

The MOST RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL PEOPLE. They have no idea what they are doing. Asked one simple question that even the supervisor couldn't answer!

dvalle1100

Most disorganized and inefficient court...they do not care about process and just want to close cases with a specific time frame, its a shame government employees are not held accountable, this is what you get, incompetence and apathy, a perversion of the justice system.

Nice people..A lot nicer then Charles County Court

it's okay to visit but the cafeteria tends to have a poor selection. For an alternative, walk a block down to main street and up two blocks toward water street, there's a 7-11 with Chili Dogs and other food, and a sub shop across the street

It’s so sad that people are this RUDE and Ignorant this early in the morning. My 2nd time there after given wrong information, I was told by the notary Clerk they are open 8am-4pm. I get there at 8:25 I was told I had to wait outside because they didn’t open to 8:30am. Got through security went inside to sign-in, I was then told to wait outside they are having a staff meeting?? Which upset me, why you are holding staff meeting when you are supposed to be servicing people? We also have jobs as well and our time needs to also be considered which they could not care about at all. While waiting outside for them to finish a staff meeting they should of had before they opened, the black security lady was extremely ignorant and rude all because I told her they are having a staff meeting, after she tried to send other people inside to sign in as I was standing at the door. I’m sure she could see. She was the absolute rudest person there and needs to be fired. I would sure hate to work with such a hateful woman everyday. Finally I’m seen by the notary staff which was also so rude and could not explain anything to anyone’s understanding. I sure hope I never have to go back there again it’s so troubling to know you guys employ people that don’t seem like they want to be there at work and with terrible attitudes. Something needs to be done because the customer service is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I’m actually going to write a letter to the governor’s office because of both experiences to the courthouse was terrible!!

I was scheduled for Trial Jury Duty towards the end of April 2018. I actually had mixed feelings about the entire jury duty ordeal, but I digress. This was my second time being notified of jury duty (you normally receive a summons every three years). The first time I was granted a legitimate exemption. I opted to park my car at the Equestrian Center & take the free shuttle bus that runs every five minutes or so from about 6am to 5pm. This was a very seamless process. There are also 2 hour maximum metered parking spaces located closer to the courthouse, but I highly discourage this because you will not have time to go out every two hours to feed the meter. If your car is towed, tough luck, you’re responsible for all expenses. (*If you are selected as a primary juror & your case lasts more than a day, you will be given a parking pass to park in the covered garage, right next to the courthouse). Jurors have to report by 7:30am. All jurors & potential jurors, w/their summons in hand, will be allowed to proceed through security first. I alerted every time I walked through the metal detector due to bobby pins in my hair, but this was never an issue. Food & closed container drinks are allowed through security, but absolutely restricted inside the courtrooms. The jury duty room (M2400) is located on the second floor, on the left hand side. You must check in each day, w/your summons, in order to receive credit for being present. The staff will place a red stamp on your summons (Applicable Date and Year) each day that you are a juror. Please keep and make a copy of your summons---very, very important, I actually emailed a copy to myself. Should the great state of Maryland and the magnificent county of Prince George ever notify you of juror duty before your three year window, this summons will serve as proof you’ve already accomplished your civic duty. :) On the day that I arrived there were over 400 potential jurors that showed. The juror supervisor, the awesome Ms. Magella "Bug” Kincade, along with her superior team, will talk and walk all jurors through the day’s procedures. Potential jurors are divided randomly into colored groups, w/your own unique juror number assigned, for that exact group. My particular group included 83 jurors. Once all the jurors have been assigned there is a short waiting period for the judge to call your specific group. Once your group is called an assigned bailiff will walk all the jurors to the judge’s courtroom. While in the courtroom you are now addressed as your juror number; no names allowed. The courtroom includes the judge, clerk administrator, court reporter (stenographer), bailiff, prosecutor, defense lawyer, defendant (if applicable) and police (security) officers. Let me interject and mention that our particular judge was absolutely amazing (professional, but witty, in a non-condescending manner)…not sure if I’m allowed to say their name, so I'll refrain. The judge will explain the case (mine was a murder trial) & go through a series of questions. If the particular question applies, you will stand up, say your juror number & explain, if asked. The last set of questions asked (I.e., have you ever committed a particular crime, been witness to a particular crime, etc.) will be answered at the judge’s bench, under the strict confidentiality of only the judge, prosecutor, defense lawyer & stenographer, hearing and recording your answer. I don’t know how, but I was selected as a primary juror for the case & trial, go figure, lol, which lasted more than a day (and which I shall not divulge any of the proceedings). Overall jury duty was not bad, more of an inconvenience, if anything. I actually enjoyed it once I knew my role and expectations & our bailiff was super cool, hilarious, but most importantly, helpful. You will be paid $15 per day for jury duty & will receive your check in the mail within 6 weeks, I believe. Or you can opt to donate your earnings to the Generous Juror Program to help needy children. I hope I’ve answered all of your questions and concerns! Good Luck!

Really disappointed in the way this courthouse operates. Comeptly disorganized. With absolutely no remorse for those who are uneducated with the court systems. Their clerks are rude and lack any information you need, any information they do give you is more than likely wrong. The one I spoke with literally cost me my case. While I know they do not give legal advice, they should at least be required to know what is needed for specific filings. I don’t know how many times I made it clear I was concerned with the time frame of the type of motion I was filing, and my concern is exactly what happened due to their poor consideration. Their “law library” ? A joke. You’ll have better luck finding law advice and knowledge on google. Horribly ran establishment. Sending multiple notifications, entering case information wrong. My boyfriend and I never once received matching dates or information for our case. When we filed motions they were signed just to be denied in a hearing we had 12 days prior notice for. And now we have our wages being garnished for money we do not owe the plantiff. Horribly ran. Just like every county ran establish in Prince George’s. Get it together. For the sake of your people that you continue to fail daily. So glad I left that county is a hole ran by elected personel that dont care about the people in their cities.

For all those who have been disenfranchised by Magistrate Judy Woodall I encourage you to join me to stop her from getting elected to the bench. She has recently applied to fill the position being left by the Retirement of the Honorable C. Philip Nichols, Jr. we can not allow that to happen or she will destroy the lives of many more families. Please send your complaints to: The Judicial Nominating Commission, c/o The Administrative Office of the Courts, Human Resources, Maryland Judicial Center, 580 Taylor Avenue, Building A, First Floor, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. Justice is not Blind in the Family court system of PG County. If you go here expecting justice and equality under the law you are in for a rude awakening (especially "Black" men). I had the dishonor of going in front of magistrate Judy Woodall, who in my opinion needs to be removed from her position due to the fact that she is totally unprofessional and one-sided. If your a white male with money and a good lawyer your more than likely to get some justice, but if your a black working class man like myself all they will give you is the run around and their ass to kiss. After talking with employees of the court I found out that after an issue she had with her husband, she became bitter and stated taking her anger out on male defendant's. My question then was if everybody in the court house knows about this how come the judge who is her supervisor doesn't do anything about her actions. they replied it's politics... Which is a BS answer to me... a few things I took away from this situation is that 1) No body cares 2) the application of law is relative 3) the state pays magistrates 6 figures a year to make snap shot judgements on your life and to bully you

These people have horrible customer service, they tell you to "Google" how their address and hours of operation and then hang up on you. The citizens if PG County need to complain more to get these people to who don't like their jobs out of there. Pretty sad bunch of people...smh....

Called ahead to ensure I had all the documents I needed, when I arrived that information was incomplete. When I tried to pay the fee for the service I needed the register machine was down. Had to come back a second day for something that should have taken 45 min to an hour.

You'll get a $25 ticket for parking in their parking lot 8am-4pm M-F even though there's a sign that says you can do exactly that. And the ticket will say "parked at expired meter." There are NO meters. ????

It is regrettably sad to know that this state system is horribly antiquated in dealing with the pandemic we are all suffering through. Their automated phone system has annoying processes that instruct you to their drop box which is nothing short of a black hole. No one responds to your request for any USEFUL information, and their mail process must use the pony-express. I hope these people are not getting telework pay due to the closures because they are not working like others that are fortunate to have telework options.

This county is corrupt and greedy. The property taxation office clearly made a mistake on the accessed value of my home and are now refusing to fix it. GREEDY to no point of return. As a military family, my husband and I are disgusted and we will ensure we pass the word about how disgusting this county is.
