Rude and short

I've been trying to get paperwork for my business done since the beginning of January. It was finally done today because we went in person and had it done. The 30-35 business day processing times online and the flawed snail mail rejection process has to change. I've called so many times I've lost count and most of the time no one picks up after waiting 15+ minutes of ringing. When someone does answer, there are a some very rude women there who treat you like you are wasting their time and can't offer you any information about your paperwork you've waited so long for. If you call, ask for Drew or Kim, they were helpful when I called and I would ask to be transferred away from the rude employees. Rude in person as well. When I was in the office, one woman get off the phone, scoffed and said "I'm sorry your poor planning is now my emergency" loud enough for anyone to hear. I can only imagine so many others all over the state are feeling my frustration.

I am going in person, tomorrow, because after 4 months of trying to file and being rejected every 3 weeks (since that's the processing time). Instead of reviewing your whole LLC filing (literally 6 lines of text), they go to the first error, stop, send your paperwork back with a snip of the Iowa Code. No clear explanation of what to fix. Then when you resubmit, they catch the next thing down the list and the process starts over...again. It would be a lot better if this process was faster and made more sense. I shouldn't have to hire a lawyer to do simple paperwork.

The woman on the phone was extremely rude when I asked some basic questions. She acted as if I was unimportant and wasting her time. Pretty unfortunate when government employees meet your expectations.

As the response given by a number of others the idea of quality customer service is lost at this facility. It would probably be better that you all remove your phone and email as contact at least when it comes to business inquiries due to your offices unwillingness to effectively assist in a manner that would result in a resolution.

Disappointed in the support offered by the Iowa Secretary of State's office. The few times I've called them they always act like it's a burden to ask a question about a file they rejected because they don't have clear guideline on articles of dissolution. They told me they can't provide an example because the Bar Association tried to file a lawsuit against them. Then how is it you can reject a file for saying "will begin dissolution and the last day of business is MM,DD,YYYY" when you are requiring it to say "the business has been dissolved on MM,DD,YYYY. It clearly states the last day of business on the articles of dissolution.

I have been so impressed with the ease and efficiency in working with the Iowa Secretary of State office. Today was a quick and capable person that didn't have to stop and check anything. I waited on hold for 30 minutes until I gave up. No one ever did answer my call. It is sad that our government is this inefficient but should I really be surprised?

Twice the phone rang 20 times and then went to a busy signal. Third time I was on hold at least 15 minutes and the person answering was rude and not helpful.

Very good customer service. I was there to process an LLC application. The front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. And, the processing time only took 10 minutes. I walked out of the office impressed by the service. I didn't expect the kind of good service I received.
