I didn't have the best experience with them, but much of it was due to, in their words, the unusual nature of a private family mortgage lender. Sparks flew and shots were fired regarding procedures and the possibility of a voided sale (along with potential lawsuits that came with a voided sale), but eventually it was resolved when the notary spoke with the buyer's notary. Nevertheless, when it comes to the legalities and technicalities of the transaction (a condo sale), they were prompt and trustworthy. There was one major issue when my realtor got a quoting price and the notary charged me a higher price. But after some dialogue the notary lowered its costs to the quoting price. In the end, amidst the fancy office and standard procedures, the thing that stood out to me the most about this notary was a very large picture of his bike race and his 7 marathon medals that hung on his office wall. I wondered why they were there at all, and these items made me ask in my mind what he cared to show his clients when he works with them. Still, the work itself was completed, and the office is reasonable.

Top quality service. We were first time homebuyers and there was lots we didn't know. Martin took the extra time with us on the phone and in person. Martin explained the whole process and offered advice, all the while being friendly and kind. The New west staff was equally helpful. We spoke to other notary's before going to new west notary and it all felt very rushed and transactional. It should be noted that New West Notary had higher fee's than other Notary's we got quotes from but we felt the attention to detail was worth the extra money. Service is ok. They do a great job with safety during pandemic which is appreciated. Make sure you are exactly on time as you won’t be allowed in office if few minutes early and will wait outside. We had to go back for 5 min meeting to change spelling of one name and were charged an additional small fee of $125. Were honestly expecting perhaps $50-$75 fee for quick change but I guess that’s a small fee at their office. Very nice office staff though they did originally mess up our first appointment by not sending us the email invite. Would we use this office now that we know what we know? Maybe but we would definitely shop around. In the end our will cost perhaps $1300 to complete the will and power of attorney, which might be average. Ask upfront for all fees and rates so there is no “sticker shock” It was our mistake with spelling and redoing paperwork is not cheap. In the end happiness comes from solving problems and this one has been solved

They were very short and unhelpful. I realize they have many clients but they seemed like they were too busy for us all the time. We called for information on our papers and they said they hadn't looked at our file yet and would call us when they did but after 2 days we didnt recieve a call and when we called back they replied with oh we are missing some documents from you. They didnt tell us what documents they needed and would one by one request things and then say "oh we also need this other form filled out" they wouldn't give us a detailed list of what was needed. They got good reviews so that's why we went with them but maybe they are too busy these days and are taking on more than they can handle because the service is below acceptable

Initially, I accidentally brought the blank form instead of the one I had filled out and printed out. In the Fall of 2002, Martin almost cost my special needs brother $2,000. Luckily I noticed the error before it was too late. Went in to do up the paperwork on a new mortgage. Told him my brother would pay off the old mortgage when it came up for renewal in 10 days (and not before) to avoid the interest penalty for early payout. I made it very clear that it will not be paid out before then. Went in to sign and the amount owing on the old mortgage was $2,000 more than I expected. I questioned him and said there is something wrong here. The amount should be $30,000 not $32,000. He doubted me and I insisted that he review it. The payout figure included an interest penally for early payout because he had my brother paying it off in 2 days and in 10 days. Incompetent. Run!!
