We surfed the web to find a notary in the West Island for our Protection Mandates and Wills. We looked at 3 possible notaries. Me Marianna De Martini clearly had the best review in score (5/5) and in the volume of people who gave feedback (77 reviews). We called her and she replied the same day. She gave us the choice to meet in person or on-line. We opted for the on-line video meeting. A few days later we had an informal meeting: basically a 1.5-hour Q&A session to assist her customise drafts of our Protection Mandates and Wills. Ten days later the documents were sent to us for review. We communicated by emails / phone for clarifications and minor modifications to the documents. Her responses were prompt and efficient. The revised copies were sent to us for approval before the second video meeting, which consisted of signing the documents electronically. Following the second meeting, the electronically signed documents were sent to us by email. Me De Martini was very professional and took all the time we needed to clarify and advise us accordingly. At all times we felt comfortable with her and did not feel rushed to get the job done. She was able to clearly explain some of the legal language that must be used in these documents. Although her consultation fees were slightly higher than the average fee recommended by La Chambre des Notaires, we felt confident from the very beginning that we had made the right decision to choose her.
