I wish I could Belleville a higher star rating but I can't. Many things are great about Belleville. The Bell Blvd., restaurants, box stores, the Quinte Mall are all good. The downtown is another situation. For a city that has invested millions into upgraded roads, sidewalks, sewers have still missed the mark of improving the city center. Many stores are empty, finding a parking spot when you do venture downtown is difficult. Also, the parking police chase potential shoppers away with large parking fines. City council need to give this entire parking authority a review and ask themselves, is the net revenue gained worth the gross income of people not coming downtown and spending money. Lots of investment for a fire hall, new police station, and many other infrastructure projects, maybe slow down on these huge capitol projects and allow the citizens shop downtown with a few less parking tickets.

For Visit June, 2018. Review limited to landmark building only and not any of the municipal business which may take place here. Gorgeous 1870's structure in a Gothic revival style. Very well maintained. Do take NOTE that there is extensive infrastructure upgrading along Front Street during the summer of 2018.

Good for you for holding your ground against the CUPE city workers request for more. Their commercial stating how much extra they've done during the pandemic including plowing the streets (which is their regular job) is absolutely pathetic. They're using the pandemic as an excuse. We've all had to make changes and we've all had to do things in a new way and do much more than we're used to in order to get by with much less. If they don't want the job they're free to quit and someone else who no longer has a job thanks to the pandemic will be happy to step in. These unions are just too pushy and asking for way more than what us average working, non-unionized citizens get. As an average citizen (many of whom have lost wages, jobs, ect do the pandemic) to pay higher taxes to cover their greed.

If parks, rec centers, libraries and everything else is closed and there is less wear and tear on roads; do we get property taxes back? or refunded to a degree?
