West-End Registries is one of the most professional registries I've dealt with across Edmonton. This was the 2nd registry I visited today.... At Westend registries David assisted me. Although I was already in a bad mood but trying to get through it about having to pay the tickets before renewing my registration (my fault I know) he did not treat me like a lesser individual or someone not worthy of being serviced properly! As I usually am at other registeres if I have any outstanding tickets..... As a matter of fact, he was helpful by allowing me to split my payment on visa and debit and being understanding that we all have financial debts/problems at one point or another. We had pleasant conversation and he was very informative, I learned lots and gave my word that I will not visit any other registry after today.... thanks David! Keep being awesome..... :)

I was here for my health card, and I wasn't satisfied with the service at all. My agent wasn't helpful, and she was a little rude and rushing me to fill my form, while I saw another agent there who was very energetic, helpful and companiable. I hope my agent was her, so I could have better experience. Update: Unfortunately, because they are near me, so I've went there two more times, one time for take a knowledge test (which they didn't accept my proof of address while the other branch at Riverbend accepted) and other time for asking about my qualification for advanced driver's license (which once again they didn't even try to help me, while I got the required information at Riverbend branch by phone).

My experience with West-End Registries was awesome. We needed some government forms pulled for a recent move to BC and Alyse was incredibly helpful. The instructions provided to complete the process were simple and clear, allowing us to receive our forms within the appropriate time (which was still a while but nothing West-End Registries could do). We'll definitely be back if we ever need Alberta registry services again!

I'm very disappointed in the quality of service at this place. Today, I went in for a few questions about my class 7 knowledge test and was met with the rudest and most passive-aggressive agent ever. She was an asian lady with glasses and a hairband. I was polite to her, but she wasn't to be. I repeated what I was explaining in a clear, simple tone, she cuts me off and asks me the same question again and proceeds to ask me in a passive-aggressive tone of voice. English is probably her second language, and I was patient with her, but she wasn't to me. Absolutely would never step foot here again. I left sobbing in the car. Go to AMA or some where else. At least they would treat you nicely.

I was really disappointed in their customer service and ended up needing to go to a different registry office. I tried submitting a liscence application via their email as instructed by them through the phone as I am currently outside of Alberta, and nothing went right with them. It took them a long time to get back to my emails, they rejected my submission because I forgot to check off that I have attached the forms (which I did), and told be that I needed to submit information that I have legal entitlement to be in Alberta (which is not stated that I need to have that in the application form). When they requested to have that information corrected I sent it to them with all of the information included. They rejected it again because they said I did not submit my birth certificate (which I did). I then forwarded the email with the pdf that I sent to them with the PDF with the information they need. I have yet to hear from them 30 hours later. I started this application 4 days ago and they still haven't processed it when it should have been a simple thing that could have been completed in one day. They are a waste of my time, incompetent to open up the correct PDF, and respond poorly to emails.

I came in today to pay a few tickets and renew my registration and change my address on my license and I got either david or Daniel I cant remember, he told me but im so forgetful, anywho, he was amazing, answered every question professionally and knowledgeably and handled the whole situation really well and even throughly explained the organ donor thing which I'm quite glad because I've always wanted to be a donor but never knew how to make it official. So I just wanted to say my experience today was phenomenal thanks to, him, I just wish I remembered his name. I came in at about 530 pm, feb 5th.

This registry is considered to be one of the best in Edmonton as well as the best in the west end. I've visited this before on numerous occasions as I live very close by and have had wonderful experiences there until my last visit there. I had visited this past Wednesday, first thing in the morning as soon as it opened at 8am to register my brand new vehicle which I was about to pick up right after from the dealership. The young lady who dealt with me, either she wasn't awake, didn't like seeing people come so early in the morning or didn't appreciate myself wearing a facemask for my own safety. She was rude, passive aggressive and I could really sense it, even though I maintained my calm and composure. It felt like dealing with a government servant at a government office in India after so many years! I forgot to ask her for a new insurance and registration holder as the one I've had for so many years was torn for quite a while because of her attitude. After remembering about it later, I decided not to visit the same day for that. I plan to visit hopefully for one last time for the insurance holder and probably not return there. I'm also in a position where I have to deal with lot of people every single day and I understand. But I have to say, if this is the attitude that person keeps moving forward, good luck and it may not take you too far. Please don't judge or make assumptions about people on whatever basis and if you do, keep it to yourself in your mind and don't visibly show it. Thank you!

Two years back I got great service where they went out of their way to help me fix a registration problem which other places didn’t care much and because of this I went back. I was not disappointed. Completely unprofessional. Staff is flustered and takes it out on anyone who comes in. You can't ask any questions or they become short with you and dissappear for 5 minutes in the back? My wife & I went to West-End Registries to get a bunch of gov't admin stuff done. The place is always busy, however line-ups seem to move fast. We ended up being assisted by Marjorie who greeted us nicely & asked the reason for our visit. When we "unloaded" the list of all the stuff we needed done, she was so professional & said "no problem, I'll be happy to help you out with all of that". We probably had ~ six things involving license, registration, health care card, & other stuff. Marjorie just took care of all of it efficiently & seamlessly, then actually asked us if there was anything else she could help us with. Wow! I asked her if it was ever not busy there & she said it's steady all the time. Needless to say with all the stuff we had to do, I thought we'd wait in line a long time & it would take a while too, that was not the case at all with Marjorie helping us. Thanks so much for being awesome Marjorie!

And I would like to call out one staff member in particular, Leah. She was so amazing with helping me figure out all of the information I would need to get this done. She also helped when I needed to come back in a second time to update the information! I highly recommend this location.

I go to this registry to renew my licence. I had some photo radar tickets that I just went to court for. They're all paid for, I have receipts to prove it. The girl at the register tells me tickets are still on my record...of course they are, I just went to court for them and paid them! I show her the receipts. She says no...can't help you, they're on your record. I explain situation again, no go. Ask for manager, she says same thing. I know full well that they can override the fees if I have proof I paid them. They refuse. I go to another Registry...no problem, they override the system, super helpful and nice. I renew my licence no problem. I would avoid West-End Registries. They're into aggravating and annoying customers rather than helping them.

Vicki helped me that day. I was impressed that she ran out of the registry to help the previous customer. That customer service is hard to find! I had to transfer my license plate to another vehicle and she gave me the most economical option. I was happy with that service but more impressed she ran out to help the last customer!

Beverly’s assistance from this registry was excellent. I went in to only have my address changed not knowing that I can already renew my I.D., so she advised me to not only change my address but also to renew my I.D. and correct my name on it at the same time; not only I have saved money, but I also saved my time and effort from going again when I must correct my name and again to renew my I.D. If you think about it, if I went to another registry, I could have paid for the two services given to me - changing my address and renewing my I.D. I just don’t know if I also need to pay to correct my name, but I only paid one fee for all the services given to me. To top it all, Beverly is very polite and friendly. I was not ready for a picture taking for my new I.D., so I requested if I could go back later which she kindly agreed. I could not go in time before they close but she patiently waited for me even after they close, so we can take a photo for my I.D. and that I am not driving without a licence for the long weekend. I am grateful. This is above and beyond service. Fast, Efficient, Knowledgeable, Professional. Highly recommend. Keep it up!

i went here to get my learners and i passed but i failed the vision test. i insisted to get another try because i was pretty sure i had normal vision. i failed once again, and they referred me to an optometrist, when i got there, the optometrist said my vision was perfect. this experience got me a little bit frustrated because i had to pay for an eye check up that i clearly didnt need whatsoever.

While I used to think this was a nice office with friendly staff, I guess things change if you become handicapped. Trying to renew driver's license, it has now expired because the staff failed to provide information. I have been at this office 4 times, each person told me to bring different information - birth certificate, proof of residence, and so on. I asked each time for everything I need - but each time I come, I am asked for one more paper, then one more, then one more. You would assume all staff would ask for the same information. It has now been a long time and I still have not beem able to renew license. After a while, a person does not have the health to keep coming back one paper at a time. I am saddened that it seems staff cannot provide accurate information and that each worker has a different list of what I need. It was not that way before so either this became an incompetent office or there is a discrimination for handicapped. Either way, I am no longer driving.

I went here to book a road test for my class 5 GDL but because I just recently moved here in Edmonton I still had my G2 license in Ontario. I was already eligible to take the road test in Ontario because I held it for almost a year and a half(give or take) and was advised by one of the clerks to take a driving course here just to make sure I follow Alberta rules so I did and when that was done I came back a month later to a different clerk and the lady told me I can't book a road test because I have a Ontario license and must take the class 7 exam and wait a year before I can take the road test so I was kinda disappointed then I went to another registry and they pretty much upgraded my Ontario G2 license to a Alberta class 7 and gave me a temporary license and now I'm waiting for my scheduled date for the road test and hope I pass. P.S. I think maybe one of the other clerks here would have done the same but there was a line up so I didn't bother lining up again.

We came to do our Alberta ID and health. Only problem, we are French and not bilingual. For my part, I came across a pleasant and attentive lady, without judgment. But my spouse came across a lady who did not make an effort to understand for her driver's license, she was laughing and getting angry at the lack of understanding with one of her colleagues, she asked my spouse to go and have her driver's license translated, we will lose $ 100 because this person did not bother to make an effort to understand, while laughing in our faces. Very disappointed.

This is Jezreel Tua, just using my sister’s account because I have already made a previous review. I’m not usually the type to complain but i’ve just gotten so frustrated over this registry. I had to come back multiple times. The lady who helped me lost my health card which is okay because i was assured that they’ll have it be called for replacement. Its been two weeks, so my mom decided to call AHS and we have been informed that no one from the registry requested a replacement and we had to do it ourselves. I needed that health card badly because i undergo medications and i see my doctor often. I am a bit dissapointed with your service first because of the optometrist bills and now this.

Under no circumstances take your road test here, especially with Jim<(add disgusted tone here). This man(a term I use very loosely), claims that it's not only ok to speed, up tp 10kph more than the posted limits, but expects that you do so. For what I can gather to facilitate this failure of an instructor, with a few extra minutes at the end of the examination period, with more time to be critical towards your performance in larger detail. Furthermore, if you pass any school, he expects you to look very closely at the school, and away from the road you're driving on to determine if it's a high school or not, because he claims that high school zones are not the speed limit that traditional school zones are, and does not feel its good to error on the side of caution in these zones, if you haven't seen a posted speed limit sign since entering the area. He will similarly dock you marks for the cautious and CORRECT response to a school zone because he's impatient and ignorant to safety, but I'm sure I would be supported by parents who were tragically victimized by people so arrogant to dismiss concerns for the surrounding public because "that's too slow for their impatience", over common sense and a cautious demeanor . And just an FYI Jimmy, you made it a point to fail myself and from what I can see from road test reviews here, many others deliberately, for the financial gain from repeat tests, or just because of the type of reprehensible character you are, and West end Registries has you representing their business and ignores the bad images reflected by yourself and therefore, are just as awful as you are. Finally, in closing, I had a examination from a real examiner today and had a flawless test(Suck It Jimmy!), from an ex-RCMP officer, who informed me that you are completely wrong about just about everything I stated here, and seemed genuinely upset that you would inform drivers that it's ok to speed. Educate yourself Jimmy Boy, 10kph over the limit could be the difference in stopping before hitting a pedestrian in an emergency situation, and colliding with them, potentially killing them! You do not deserve to instruct anybody and west end registries is contributing to the deaths by speeding motorists by allowing you to represent them as instructor. Would you like to be taken for a ride designed to take your money? This is your spot. Want a real instructor? Go anywhere else, I mean, could you do worse, really???

Beverly gave me a hand when I phoned in regarding the standards for the motorcycle being used for the exam. She went out of her way to get information and confirmed that mine was acceptable! My examiner was Satar; I was not successful the first time in part due to bad habits I acquired over my 35 years of driving. Satar took the time to explain everything to me so I was successful on my second attempt. He is an avid motorcyclist himself and gave me some good advice on clutch control even after I had passed. I was on the receiving end of some fraud recently, because I got an automated speed camera ticket in the mail. I was initially annoyed, because I think I've had only two of those, ever. The name, address, everything was right, but then I looked closer: the license plate number didn't match the one on my sedan, the only vehicle I own. In fact, the vehicle in he photo was obviously a Ford SUV. Then I put two and two together, and remembered that my wallet had been stolen from my car five months earlier, and this was confirmed by two Visa transactions I didn't recognize; my driver's license was in that wallet too, and someone had most likely used my identity to register a vehicle. The phone number on the ticket itself was answered by an agent who told me exactly what to do: visit a registry, then the police, and then send a carefully worded e-mail to an address he gave me. So, I proceeded to West-End Registries, and politely explained my situation to the agent at the desk. Initially she seemed concerned, but it became obvious in the coming minutes that there was either no procedure in place to deal with situations like this, or this person was not feeling particularly helpful today. In order to move forward with anything, she insisted that I pay an assortment of fees in order to "cancel the plate", which struck me as very odd. I asked for elaboration on why I'm being charged money because I was a victim of a crime, and she finally asked outright if I would pay the sum of items she recited, and I responded "no, I'm not going to pay that". Her reply, in a very snippy tone, was "then there's nothing else I can do for you today", as she rudely shoved my documents back toward me across the desk. I gathered my papers and left. The exchange lasted no longer than 3-4 minutes. I then drove to Registrations Are Us, about five minutes away, and went through the same procedure as I did at West-End Registries, hoping to find an agent who actually showed up to work that day ready to do their job. The result was completely different. The agent who helped me at Registrations Are Us was immediately empathetic, and spoke with her superior about what to do. She politely explained to me that there is a Service Alberta Special Investigations Unit that handles these matters, and they would arrange for an investigator to call me as soon as possible. She also informed me that the reason for the phone call from an investigator is that in her capacity at Registrations Are Us, she isn't privy to most of the more sensitive information about vehicle registrations. They contacted me no later than 5 minutes after I left Registrations Are Us. This is how things should have gone in the first place. Everything is moving smoothly now, and I have been connected with the appropriate agency to begin fixing this, and tracking down the criminal, no thanks to West-End Registries Upon reading many other reviews, there seems to be a specific person at this office who has a serious attitude problem. I would like to work with West-End Registries to ensure that this person is identified and terminated. She was a slim Caucasian, seemed to speak English as her first language, and was seated at the right-most desk, if you're facing the desks from the customer line-up, at approximately 3:00 PM on Friday, October 8th, 2021. I was in brown coveralls, with a bright yellow t-shirt underneath. Check the cameras; your move.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, AND HORRIBLE! First of all, a previous employee looked at the bill of sale for my trailer and my name was missing from the buyer section so she asked me to fill it in, so I did. I found out that I have 3 fines to pay instead of 1 so I paid 2 of them and left without registering the trailer. Not a bad experience, fines are my fault. Next time I went in, I had to renew my car registration and register my trailer. This employee asked me to initial the bill of sale, twice, beside an error in which the previous owner has started to write in the date instead of the city. She asked me to pay for everything, so I did. The last thing that she decided to work on was the trailer. She then started looking at the bill of sale all sideways and went somewhere in the back. She came back and said that my name was not spelt right, apparently my r's look like l's and the 2 initials were not the correct way to make on the bill of sale, "like I thought it was." her words. When I asked for a full refund, because I only paid the $9 fee on the one fine because I wanted to register the trailer that day she said "to bad, service is already completed." I would not have paid that fee, I would have just went onto MyDigitalID and would not have to pay the fee, you can do that by the way, that's probably something that they don't want you to know. Anyways a very horribly dishonest place in my books, I will NOT be back EVER!

This was our first visit to your office. We have always done our vehicle registrations at the AMA, but were refused service due to not renewing our membership. We came in to register our new vehicle and inquire about the process to book a road test for our son. The office was very very busy with a line up of people waiting down the sidewalk. Once inside we immediately noticed the high level of noise. There were 4 clerks working in a row. We couldn't help but realize the level of noise from the third clerk over. She was standing up close to the divider shouting to her customer. We were finally called up and our clerk was very friendly and pleasant. We had several questions about the road test options and requirements and she explained it all to us. We told her we wanted our son to get his license to help take his grandma for some appointments as grandpa just recently passed away. My spouse mentioned that we were still waiting for the death certificate after 3 months. She asked when we ordered it ,which we didn't, as we were told it gets sent out. We had no idea we needed to order his death certificate. She quickly printed out the form and said we could fill it out while she was getting the car registered. We didn't see our clerks nametag she was second from the left with purple in her hair! It was difficult at times to hear her because of the other clerk shouting and yet she engaged in conversation with us and didn't rush us. Even though there was a long line prior to getting in it went pretty quickly and we both would rather wait for good service. We had such a pleasant experience at your office we definetly will make it our go to as we see no need in an AMA membership. Please pass on a sincere thanks to the clerk that assisted us.

Vanessa explained what I needed to do to solve my problem and also sent me an email confirming our conversation with a link to the documents I needed to complete. I didn't realize it was possible to have this positive of an experience at a registry! Came by about a half an hour before close and saw a bit of a lineup. Based on my experiences at other registries I was honestly worried that they might close before I made it to the front of the line, but it turned out I had nothing to worry about -- not only was I in and out in maybe 10 minutes max, but the entire staff team managed to be so friendly, helpful, and above all patient throughout. The fact that the staff managed to be so efficient and courteous while also having to deal with ensuring social distancing measures were happening is no small feat! I was super impressed with every aspect of my experience here and will definitely be back in the future.

A young lady, Victoria, helped me through it and explained everything I needed. Not only was she helpful, but extremely patient as well. Went on a Saturday was in and out within 10 mins. Although, the lady helping me had stone cold facial expressions, she was efficient and knew exactly what she was doing. Only thing to consider is that they will charge i think it was 2 or 2.5% surcharge if you pay by credit card which I think is the credit card merchant fees. In any case pay debit and you are good to go.

Moved from out of province. Had some major issues. The only thing that made it bearable was David. People if you want to deal with hands down the best registry agent he is the one. This man helped me to figure out what the government needed. He was patient & explained stuff that the government doesn't tell you to make things faster. After 2 hours he was still smiling and calm. I had to return a couple times after, and went directly to him. He remembered me and made the process easy and enjoyable. I will only go to this registry now they exceeded my expectations!!!

I have been working with West-End Registries for over a decade now and have always found them to be efficient, personable and very helpful. Doing commercial Pro Rating Vehicles in Alberta is always a challenge as the Government of Alberta changes the rules annually. This year we had to work through transferring funds electronically for the first time. I'd like to give kudos to Devi for helping us navigate this new payment method and for making the registration process even quicker and easier than year's past. Every negative review on Jim related to the road tests that I’ve read here is from someone who failed. After taking my road test it is clear that these people are simply upset that they failed. From the perspective of someone who passed, I had no issues with Jim. The things he docked me on were fair, and he was perfectly pleasant during the drive. We went to two other registries first, but no one had the knowledge to help us on our case. And they were so rude and unhelpful. I then picked up the phone called West-End Registry. Vikki is the service associate on the other line to help me with. she was so sweet and polite over the phone. In no time, she already figured out what is the issue and offered me her help right away. I went to the registry around their closing time but Vikki didn’t mind at all. She helped me complete our fleet registration. By the time I left the registry, it is already 20 min after their closing time. I can’t express my gratitude enough to her.
