Good experience. First time here, arrived at 5 pm on a Friday, and had no wait (which I understand is unusual). Friendly staff member helped out. What made me decide to go here was their "line up" waiting feature. On their website (or once your arrive), you put in your cell phone number and it will text you how many people are in line before you. If it is really busy, it will simply notify you that you should return to the building for your turn -- so you can shop or grab a coffee instead of sitting/waiting in line in the building for 30 minutes. First time I've seen that in action. Will likely return.

I generally don't write reviews and I thought I was the only one that had issues with this registry. well I see I was wrong. One fellow was very incompetent when it came to registering a brand new, straight from a store utility trailer. actually told me I had to get a bill of sale form filled out by the sales rep from Lowes, I had the original receipt and certificate of origin and that still wasn't good enough. Went to the registry on 130th ave and had exact same paper work and they said yep that's all we needed.

I used their new online/by-email service, and was very impressed by the speed at which I was helped. I had a sole proprietorship registered within a few hours. If you've got a non-urgent request, the online service is great. I'm so happy they have this option.

This is seriously the busiest registry and I've never seen more than 4 people working at a time, even though they have 7 tils available. Just hire some more people! There is literally always a gigantic line! The staff are fine, not overly nice or overly rude just doing their job. Luckily they're pretty quick at it.

I took my class 5 advanced exam here today and passed. It was my first time taking the test so I cannot compare it to other places. But I found the examiner, Michelle, friendly and professional. The staff were also nice, at least I did not notice any bad behavior.

Good registry as far as the paperwork and day to day dealings go. Really bad for the road exam. Every examiner have their own set of rules, so even if you have to go there and for some reason (most likely if you're a new driver) you fail make sure to book it through the same examiner so that the next time you go there he doesnt fail you on something that the previous examiner said was OK. Also a big trick in passing the road exam, go on weekdays. You will most likely get a better examiner.

If it's your first time using the system be aware you don't have to be at the registry to get in line. Follow the directions from the text messages where you can request more time or see your place in line. The people who are upset don't realize this. Once they do their lives will be much easier.

Merely adequate. Got there several minutes after opening on a Friday and there was a long line, and only 2 people working for some reason. They have this text message / app based queueing system, which theoretically could allow you to get in line from somewhere else and show up right before your appointment, but practically speaking there were a ton of people waiting around still, and half of the people in the queue didn’t show up when their number was called. The waiting room is also a bit cramped and there tended to be people piling up at the front door trying to enter their information into a tablet, in order to get in line. I waited about 25 minutes. At the end of the day I got what I needed, as required by the government, but it wasn’t a particularly good experience.

If you need to do your road test I would recommend going somewhere else. I have take the test 3 times now and had a different person each time. Now granted I made some mistakes on my own the test seems to be based on the opinion of the tester. The first test I was docked points for doing things such as following to close or not slowing down through T intersections, so trying to fix these mistakes I did what caused me to fail but on the next test I was docked points for not following close enough and the tester said I should be right behind the guy and docked me more points for slowing down at the T intersections. I also struggled with the parallel parking on the first test and the guy reminded me after that I could take my time, well on the next test I was docked points for going to slow on the parking. Wtf am I supposed to do learn the specifics of every single tester and drive to there exact specifications. Anyway I ended up going to the Wild Rose Registry and had no problems.

Thanks for nothing. We came in to get our marriage license, and after waiting more than an hour and a half, we got to the counter at 6:29pm, a full 31 minutes prior to closing, and we were turned away because we hadn’t filled out a form in advance that we were not aware of, nor was it mentioned on your website. The website says to be there 30 minutes prior to close, and we were. Despicable service.

Been there about 4 times, trying to take Learners. Staff are racist, except for this one guy who was really open minded. Every time they just told me I can't take the test, and there were no further explanations as to why. Especially the women staff are rude. You can see that they hate what they do as soon as you walk in through the door. The line up was up to outside the door every time I went there. Terrible, horrible, and ridiculous.

One star is too much for them. Horrible service. I booked a Road Test for my daughter. It was confirmed by email with confirmation number and payment was taken off my credit card. We arrived 30 minutes ahead of time and waited only to be told there was no appointment for her. I showed them confirmation and they said well maybe my credit card was no good. But they did re-book for another test without a credit card which was odd. Anyway, we left there went to another registry, made an appointment and got her license later that day. Much better customer service there. The people were much more friendly and helpful. Now I am having trouble getting my money back for the first booking and they're trying to put the blame on me.

I am updating my review about this registry. They have worked hard over the past few years and now have a really friendly and helpful staff. In the past 4 years I have seen these guys improve. I would totally recommend this place. Gave my class 6 road test here today, and the examiner was so professional. Even helped me connect my bluetooth which stopped functioning at the last minute. From the beginning of my class 5 advanced road test i was targeted unfairly by my examiner because of my age, the car i drive, and the fact that it is a manual drive, performance car. I knew i was in for a tough time when the first thing he tells me when he gets in the car is to "turn off my radar detector" which is actually just an air freshener. He made false accusations on my test report, from claiming i turned into the wrong lane on a road where there was only one lane, to when he accused me of not giving right of way when turning left. although there was no oncoming or cross traffic he claimed i cut off a car going through the intersection after i was already exiting the intersection, after safely completing my turn. This establishment just wants your money and will lie and fail you on driving tests without hesitation. And to David my examiner, you should be re-evaluated as you yourself are not a fair or competent examiner; just an unhappy old man who has a personal vendetta against young men driving sporty vehicles.

If you have a choice to go to another registry please do. Their new system sucks so bad that it can’t even monitor who’s next. Trying to be advanced but definitely not working. If you want to wait 2hrs this is the registry for you.

Very slow service. Left after 15 minutes and the line hadn't moved. One guy sitting behind the counter was reading a book. Two others were standing behind the counter talking, and the other two behind the counter were yelling at each other arguing over what letter to use on a form. Very dirty in there. Do yourself a favor and don't go there.

So, I was hoping to have a good experience, but never got the chance... Despite a huge sign on the boulevard declaring "Open Sunday" and Sunday hours posted on their door and website and phone message - they were: not open. Unbelievable. We drove from Saskatchewan to pick up a car, did all our homework to find a convenient registry open Sunday. Had they the courtesy to put a message on their web page, we would have come tomorrow - no problem. Now we're staying overnight and their definitely not getting our business in the morning.

Staff was very friendly, comprehensive and helpful when I ran into an issue with my road test check in, one of the best registries I have gone to and it is also well organized with their check-in by text message system. I entirely recommend this place. Driver examiner was also friendly and professional and does not put stress on you and was not rude at all like I experienced before in other registry office where they do not care about how they treat the new drivers under a stressful situation.

Last time, i went to taking class 7 test, i had take my passport, school letter, student ID, and my health care card. but, they told me that i missing document to prove i study in Alberta presenting, and they asking me go to my school register to make a document to improve it. i feeling confusing. why i need to prove i am studying in alberta presenting? in the driver guide, it only shows if i live in alberta; then, i can have a drive test. but, i still went home to bring what they want i need to bring. i arrived when i carry these document they requied. they tell me, "we cannot allow you to taking test because you miss anthor document to improve you living at alberta." OS: are you f**king kidding me? then why did you not told me at once?

Let me be the first to say - this is not a pleasant business to be in. The vast majority of patrons are missing documentation, forms and even at times their own license - all items required to perform virtually all transactions. This leads to frustration on their part and is directed often unfairly at the person trying to serve them. Polite, knowledgeable and efficient staff describe the entire staff at this location in my opinion. I think they do a great job - I have no complaints.

And finally they gave me a list of what they need after the fourth time. They don't have any respect for the people going there. Honestly I am not sure what all the 1 star reviews are about as this is a registry office and not a retail shop. So what if they don't smile and coddle you. They have to conduct their business according to legislation. Yes, the line-ups are always long but they have a system where you can electronically check-in using your cell phone number and receive a text when you near the front of the line. I have used this convenient service many times and simply go get some lunch or do some other business when the line-ups are out the door!

Incredibly fast and helpful service! I showed up at 9 when they opened to renew my vehicle registration. I was greeted with a smile and asked what I needed. I presented my about to expire registration and then offered the 1 or 2 year registration. I then paid for my choice and left. All in all I wasn't even there for 5 minutes. Definitely going back.

The driving instructor was not good at all. He was extremely rude and very unprofessional. He must have been in a bad mood the day I went but it still did not constitute his unpleasant behaviour. He was literally yelling at me the entire test, sighing loudly, and overall was just being very passive-aggressive and stressful to drive with. Would not recommend this registry and will not be returning based on the instructor's terrible service and poor attitude. The tellers were nice and respectful though.

Due to social distancing measures, there is a new system in place in which you enter, put down to your phone number, and they’ll send automated messages for your spot in line. This would’ve been a great system, but there were some major issues with this registrar. The attitudes of the individuals working at this place were atrocious- easily some of the worst customer service ever experienced. When faced with their mistake/ a glitch in the system, they were very unprofessional and acted as though they were doing a huge favour in fixing their mistake (aka, doing their job properly).

Love the option to join the line thru QLess. Left work downtown and joined the line with a one hour wait. By the time I got to shawnessy and grabbed food I had a 5 minute wait in the registry. A sign outside telling people about qless would be a great idea to let people know before they come inside to long lines

I believe this registry is always busy. It was my first time here, and I thought of trying their service after I had a bad one from South Trail registry. They have an SMS service so I didn't need to stand and wait on the line before being called. The last 4 digits of the mobile number will be mentioned and the counter who will serve you. The registry itself is a bit small so it easily looks crowed and dark. I waited for a good 15 minutes (at least while seated). I was looking around and all the registry agents seem to be helpful, I didn't see anyone frowning or anyone giving an attitude. I felt that the flow of service was good at that time. I came here just to inquire about applying for a marriage license. The agent who assisted me was not sure about the process, so he politely excused himself and asked another agent to clarify. He then provided me the details I needed. What he did was better than assuming what the policy is, which happened to me in South Trail. It is always better to confirm the correct information rather providing the wrong one. Aside from the number of people, dark and small office, I believe I had a good experience with this registry. I'll be back here for sure.

Had to use the AB registries services yesterday and have/had a unique scenario. As such, I called ahead and spoke to a pleasant lady and she advised me of what I needed in order to accomplish what I needed. (bear in mind, I'm on a HUGE time line and this was very time sensitive). Went to the office signed up with the queue system and waited not long, considering (this place was lined up out the door). Got to the wicket and began the process, only to find out that everything I did ahead of time was incorrect, despite the fact I took my direction from the agent I spoke to earlier that day. Super unimpressed, and wasted all the time I ensured that I wouldn't waste. Long story short - went to a different registy office this am, and was in and out within 20 min. - using the same documents and advice I was given by the agent from THIS location.

Update I have filed a complain to Service Canada. Anyone who had witness this, pleast contact me, I also have some pic for documents. worst ever! I went to this place to renew my driver licence. The lady asked me to take a photo and the only gave me receipt, no temporary driver licence, and she went to the back of the office. So I waited her at the front desk. When she came, I asked her to give me my temporary driver licence. But she said she had already given it to me! I was pretty sure she didn't, so I showed all document in my purse, and asked her to check if she put it some where. But she refused. At the same time, a tall male agent came, pushed me to the door very hard, and short: get out! He pushed so hard that I feel my showder was very painful. What a! I paid for the price, but I didn't get my temporary licence. I will file a complain about it to service Canada. If I was successful, I will post the steps, so that anyone who was treated bad at this office can get at least a "sorry" from them

Tried to book my senior Dad in for a Driving Test. Unfortunately, although they have voice mail, when they can't take a call, so I left a message about a 30 hours ago,...but I didn't get a return call. I also left message with Southland Registry. They returned my call within half an hour, and arranged for the appointment. I would have preferred to use Shawnessy, which is 6 kms closer to my home if I could. Things like this may explain the 2 star rating at Shawnessy.

I went here for my Advanced class 5. My examiner made me feel comfortable and calm the entire test, was clearly very skilled at his job. The people at the desks were also incredibly pleasant. Never go to this registry it has the most ridiculous wait times I waited there for over an hour. There are often many employees just standing around while very few are actually helping people, the ones who are take way too with the customers when they should be more short and straight to the point. Overall who ever is in charge of this place does not do a very good job.

They are the most notorious for failing people on road tests. They literally fail you for obeying the rules of the road, saying you're being too careful. Eg, waiting for pedestrians to fully cross the road before making a turn.

Great service here! I needed to get a license plate for my newly purchased motorcycle and wanted to make sure everything was taken care with no surprises of before I drove up the Edmonton to pick it up the next day. Turns out my bill of sale was filled out incorrectly but they helped straighten it out (while another registry turned me away without looking twice) and I was on my way in no time. There was a line up when I got there but the staff worked quickly and I wasn't waiting more than 5 minutes. The lady that helped me was friendly and helpful (I think her name was dannie?) and she clearly knew what she was doing. It's convenient that they're open late Monday to Friday and on weekends, especially Sundays. If I'm in a last minute jam, I wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

Great experience! I was in and out within 15 minutes. The Queue App is fantastic. I highly recommend “joining the line” when you know you’re 10-15 minutes away. The APP allows you to receive status updates, move to the back of the line if needed and also leave the queue completely. I needed to renew my Alberta Driver’s License and apply for a Certificate Of Birth. Cory took great care of me. He was efficient and friendly. Also a great trouble-shooter. The computer froze and he quickly took care of it, without even flinching. Thanks Shawnessy Registry!

The only reason this place survives is they provide and essential service. Unbelievably slow service, staff always, and I mean always standing around instead of being on a caomputer helping customers. I have not been in one time and not seen a staff member standing around. After reading all the one and two star reviews you would think they'd try to improve, but I guess when you've got your customers by the balls, you just don't care.

Wife took driver's test here and did not have a good experience. not recommended to take road test specially for new drivers - class 5 GDL she failed the test and one of the reason is that the examiner said she failed to stop at red light, what really happened is that they were already in the middle of intersection, light still green but vehicles in front were moving slowly because of traffic, lights turn yellow and turned red seconds before they completely crossed to the other side, examiner said she should have stopped the car! I mean why would you advice to stop the car in the middle of an intersection? road and traffic condition changes all the time and it's not all the time that you can go by the book!

He was drinking beer while on the job, dressed unprofessionally, and made me feel like an idiot because I knew nothing of renewing my health care. I was at Station 4 on November 15 2021 at 10 AM. This younger man and older woman were helping me and the man was clearly training the woman but was horrible at it. He seemed completely inconvenienced by me and the polite woman that he was training. The woman kept asking him questions and he would roll his eyes and make her guess. He was absolutely miserable. I applied for my son's birth certificate on 1st of April at that time they told me you will receive it by maximum 15 days on 23rd April I called them and asked why I have not received the same yet, they checked and informed me that by mistake they have not validated and sent forward for the printing. Went there on Saturday. Place was packed with people, but registry put like 7 front desk clerks to work. I was with the clerk on less than 5 minutes and out of the door with the new license plate in 10min. Great work!

They have gone to a new system of when you walk in the door you enter your cell phone number onto a tablet and they send you a text message when it is your turn. I'm not keen on that and because now they're capturing more information not that they don't already have enough it builds the lineup just walking in the door although it only took me 10 minutes to get to the counter.

I failed my road test 4 times in a row at 4 different registries and finally passed at Shawnnessy. I highly recommend that you keep watching the road test website and when you see Shannessy, BOOK IT. Not great customer service. Hard to get a phone call answered, and there is always a gigantic line up. They are unclear with communication. There is one blonde lady (at window 6 I believe) who is ridiculously rude and unprofessional. Every time I’ve spoken to her in person or on the phone she is condescending and rude. It’s a shame because there are 3 other employees (at windows 2, 3, and 7?) who are very nice and helpful. The road test examiners are great.

So many only share negative reviews, but I have to say my experience was 100% positive, from the booking system, to when I arrived to get signed in, the examination and also the final paperwork. 1. Upon arrival, the lady that I met was very welcoming, made me feel great - I was already nervous about the exam. 2. The examiner, I believe his name was Adison, was very explanatory, made me feel comfortable with what was about to happen and openly answered all questions I had. I was marked down for some mistakes, fairly so, and Adison spent the time explaining what I did incorrect and what I should think about for future. It was clear that Adison wanted to ensure I was safe in the future. I will share his explanations to many for years to come. 3. Also seemingly a little less friendly, straight to business (but that's ok, they were busy), the lady that processed my new license was efficient. Thank you Shawnessy Registry, I know these are trying times, but made me feel welcome and showed that you care.

What a joke!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I'm not one of those people who generally complains, or EVER writes negative reviews. In fact, I try very hard to look at what "I" could have done better in difficult situations. However, I have lived in the area for 7 years, and being that this is the only registry nearby, I have had to use this registry 6 or 7 times for different reasons throughout the years. I have NEVER once had an easy experience dealing with this registry. Every...single... time I have used this registry I have been sent on a wild goose chase. After the first couple times of being sent on a goose chase, and them claiming that I didn't have all the proper documentation with me, I started to be proactive and call ahead to make sure that I had everything they require before hand, only to be told that I still need other paperwork when I get there. I have also showed up with documentation that their office had given me, after refusing me service the first or second time around, only to find out from another employee when I return for a second or third time, that such documents were never required in the first place. Today my fiance was in this registry 3 times to get a brand new plate for a brand new trailer we just bought, and haven't even picked up off the lot yet. Each time being sent away with a different form they apparently required, that we weren't previously given or told about. After running around and doing everything they asked, we were then told on our 3rd time back in the registry today, that they never could have given us a plate in the first place because we currently (until picking up the trailer, in which we need a plate to do) only have a photo copy of the bill of sale, not the original. Nobody seems to know what the hell they are doing, and they have zero customer service or communication skills. I would NOT recommend this registry, unless you're up for a huge run around and a massive headache, and from now on, I will absolutely be making the drive elsewhere. Hopefully I can find another registry where the employees are actually trained and helpful, and not a bunch of uneducated twits.

Not even deserving of 1 star. Ridiculous long line ups, went there because it was closest registry office. Wanted to do a written test for a class 4, as I have a class 3 licence the road test was not necessary, 2 incompetent employees informed me that a road test was always required. So went to Richmond road registries and got it handled in 10 minutes. Made the mistake of going back today to register a quad. After a 45 minute lineup, got the impression the guy was looking for any excuse not to help me, saying the bill of sale was not filled out completely, nonsense, then informed me that because the quad was not registered before it couldn’t be done, unless I physically took the quad down so he could visually confirm it. Long story short majority of employees there are imbeciles, sav me yourself the trip, go elsewhere

Went on a Sunday which was also the last day of the month and expected it to be a nightmare. Showed up early and waited outside for 30 mins and was 4th in line. By the time the doors opened there were at least 60 people lined up towards the bank. Seems like they have a new system in place to handle the Que and estimated wait times. The two people i dealt with and a women to the side of me were very polite and far from rude. They were processing people pretty quick. Renewing registration was a no hassle process on the busiest day of the month for registries that are open.

Staff are not knowledgeable and rude. I came here to register a corporation and the staff was questioning me with the answers in my form that it was wrong and he cannot offer legal advice. I told him that I just followed the instructions per Canada corporations website and he said I should not just copy off the internet. After multiple explaining, I find them incompetent as he keeps coming back inside to ask the boss on info and he does not know what he is doing. I decided to go to Southland registry and was suprised by the service! Nothing compared to Shawnessy. The person in Southland registry was courteous and very knowledgeable and gave me tips on how to correctly complete the forms. He also advised what I missed which was to do the Alberta name search rather than federal as I am provincially incorporating. And I was surprised how cheaper the fees are! $460 vs $560 in Shawnessy. Shawnessy is a rip off with their service and lack of knowledgeable staff!!! My husband also remembers this was the same guy who processed his Alberta Drivers license which was rude and incompetent.

I gave 2 stars because the man who helped me was very nice and fast or I would have given it 1 star. Looking around observing the other costumers as I waited I overheard tellers being selectively rude to other costumers. People that were noticeably ethnic (brown or black skin) where treated very rudely. Being of mixed race I was nervous as I neared the front of the line and I could feel the knots forming in my stomach and wondered if I looked "white" enough to get service here (i feel guilty for thinking that). I was very lucky that the I ended up at the 1 teller that was being nice to everyone. The Filipino woman behind me with a small baby left running from the place in tears 2 min after she approached the teller, all I heard was the woman say before she ran away was, why are you so mean to me? I am nice to you, I am from Canada. The man said something to her and she ran (that poor woman). Upon leaving an African American family was yelling into the doors "there is no need to treat us like this and you will never get our business" the reply to that from a teller was "no one cares" . Weird thing is the people that had light colored skin was treated very kindly and was even told they would have places held for them at the teller if they needed to run to their cars for i.d's n such yet the other people had to get back in the long line. I wish I had my headphones on and my head down as I was in this place, I left feeling sick to my stomach, sad and angry.

They told me with confidence that my father can use the drivers license he got. They even looked at it. So we are confident that he is using a valid one just to find out that hes not. The staff there are not properly trained. They have no idea what qualifies as proof of address. I understand maybe the person could have been new and didn't know but there is no excuse for not asking a coworker or supervisor to make sure you are providing the proper service. But I completely understood why when I called to speak to the supervisor (Cory) and he has no idea what he is doing or what good customer service is so no wonder his staff have no idea what they are doing. He didn't offer any sort of apology for the inconvenience and also left me on hold for almost 10 minutes only to try argue that I was wrong even though I told him we went to the South Crossing Registry with the exact documents and had no issue what so ever. It's time that Cory goes back for some training on what good customer service skills are. Have fun dealing with them but I would highly recommend going to a different registry if you want good customer service and staff that knows how to do thier job.

Took my class 4 drivers test here today and failed. The tester, Michelle, stated I didn't shoulder check enough and missed using my turn signal both of which were outright lies. I'm been driving for over 30 accident free years, logging over 1 million kilometers and have been complemented on my driving a lot putting people at ease. DO NOT take your driver's tests here. I was there to get my vehicle licence plate renewed. Waited in line for 2 hours for 15 other people in line ahead of me. Presented the lady the documents, but she refused the renewal saying the insurance card must include the company name shown on the registration, even though the registrant’s name, address and other information perfectly match. Told me either to reproduce an insurance card with said info or resell the company vehicle to the registered individual and register a new plate. This is ridiculous. The vehicle plate was registered fine and renewed once before, without problems. Drove 7km to southland registration, no wait time, got my plate renewed in merely a few button clicks. With employees like the lady I saw, no wonder the office takes TWO HOURS to help 15 customers. Also had previous bad experience with their road test examiners. The only nice thing about this place is its convenient location with no competition in the far south. 1 star for this place. I’ll spare another star for this lady who offered to service me right away when I return with the impossible documents she requested. I don’t think me or my family will be returning to spend two hours at this location anymore.

Horrible experience. They need to have someone managing the massive line and informing people before they stand in it for an hour and a half (literally) as to what they need to do. When I had taken my road test for the first time. The instructor failed me because I stopped when the light was yellow and a pedestrian chased after the walking sign. It was a matter of hitting the person if I had listened to him when he yelled go. 2nd time I went there to register my vehicle, the wait time was 40 minutes. Whenit was finally my turn, I had put down my mother's maiden name on my bill of sale . It was not in my license which also came from their location. He made me look for another piece of ID which had to have the maiden name on it as proof that I was the one who had purchased the vehicle. When I got my health card from my car, I ran back and he cut me off the line. When I waited for another 30 minutes I approached him again and said that my insurance had to be under my name. I left him the insurance when I went back to my car and he had many chances to tell me that when I came back but didn't. Absolutely terrible service and a waste of my time

Worst registry in Calgary in accomplishing all services specially doing road tests. The instructors in this office just want you to redo road test as they are getting 85% of the fees which they know it's high and good revenue for them. They failed me in a road test three times and every time they come up with a different excuse just to get me redo the same test. If you are looking to do even small services just do not go there. Most people in the office specially the manager are mean and won't see even a smile on their faces. They are confused and they don't know what they are doing. I went to south registry and I passed first time.

Called ahead to get the information I needed and then also looked online before I went down to avoid complications . My autitisic kid and I walked 3km each way after I talked to someone this morning. One piece of paper wasn't mentioned so it was not brought as I only brought what I need for a long walk and the guy wouldn't help me or even listen to me. We waited outside in the line up to be treated rudly the second we entered the property. A female made a comment from behind the barrier as we left she's lucky I mainted control and left to walk my autitisic kid back home another 3km for nothing. When. It seems that customer service is not a familiar concept here. Service in this registry is about how many times they can send you back to your vehicle without a resolution. Using COVID and safety protocols for lack of staff and or knowledge is unacceptable. While in line many others choose to leave rather than be treated this way. You should acknowledge these points of concern and address them. It doesn't help that online we kept receiving errors time and time again... Won't be returning here

The staff are very confrontational at this location. Now, with Covid restrictions there are plastic barriers set up and floor markers to keep you 6 feet away from the agent. That’s fine but when you’re expected to shout your private information it becomes quite invasive. But even before these restrictions this registry was horrible. If a business puts up signs asking customers to be respectful that is a red flag.

DO NOT waste your time coming here! Customer service is lackluster and Calum absolutely refused to do anything but print out a piece of paper and tell me to fill it out. Customer service entails assisting the customer WHEN they have questions ...that is why you are in primary contact with the customer. Either he didn't know the answers or is not inspired at his job which is unfortunate. A customer is spending close to $600 to incorporate a business and all you tell me is "I can't help you, it's legal advice." Well that's strange Calum because I studied legal practices and in fact it is not legal advice!! Also, you printed a document and told me to fill it out but I don't have a GST number. When I spoke to the president of my company, that is the first step. The second step is to fill out the docs. And the third is to open a business account...now you know my friend ;) I def will be taking my $600 to a different registry.

I went in to incorporate a small company & they charged me $537.50, afterward I thought about it and I called the registery at South trail crossing; they quoted me $411.00. So I called the Shawnesse registery and asked them why it costs $125 more in their location, the reason given was "We are independently owned & can set the price at anything we want"! I'm never going there again! My advice to everyone, phone ahead and find out how much they charge, then do bussiness somewhere else!!!!!!! Their was a mistake with the insurance and registration which was not previously caught until today even though everything was done at the same registry. When we asked to speak to manager apparently their on vacation and so is everyone higher up. From my experience it's just a cash grab all they want it peoples money. Its better to go to a registry that is further than this one.

Yesterday evening I called in to request guidance on a new vehicle I purchased. I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Tremaine, and he was able to help me fairly quickly. I then booked an appointment and was seen 45 minutes later. The person helping me was Cory. Cory was respectful, knowledgable and efficient and I was exhausted having spent the entire day another location that was nowhere near efficient or helpful. If you're looking to get any sort of help I would recommend that you come to this location, BUT book a time from home before you come out, that saved me allot of waiting! Also, double check that you have everything and be prepared to wait, no one really knows how long things will take but a little preparation saved me allot of frustrations. I cleared my afternoon schedule just in case. Cory/Tremaine - Your location has a customer in me for life! Thank you for going out of your way to help me and more importantly! Thank you for treating us like human beings! (That something many other locations lack)

OK, this is the worst place to go EVER !!!!! the line up was 30 minutes inside the door way... the staff were all pointing at the line up and doing nothing about it. Depending on who you deal with some are more knowledgeable than others. Wait times can be a bit long, but in the end the usually get what you need done. It is nice to get text updates for when you need to be ready to come back so you can do some shopping nearby. But I have had good and bad experiences in this location.

Very poor - go in 6:10pm, 50 minutes before close sit and waited 40min to be told they don't accept our application type after 6:45pm cause it takes 30min. What ever happened to empoyees working overtime to complete the work that is in front of them. Especially when you were in before the time required and were not told otherwise. Arrived well before 5pm and there is a "courtesy notice" on their door and its locked saying they are closed early due to the holiday (new years eve) and weather conditions.... which are just like every other Alberta day with snow. I wanted to change the address on my Driving Licence. It has been over 6 weeks and the licence never arrived. One day a phone call left a message that the Driver Licence was returned due to a mistake in the address. Ironically, my car is registered at my new address, my car insurance slip bears the new address. Both of these docs were seen by the person dealing with me. However, I requested my husband to get it corrected but he was turned away and when he wished to talk to the Manager he was not made available. I went to the office twice but huge line up discouraged me to wait hours in the line. I curse the day I came to this registry to get the small job done. I intend to ask the AB government to look into the matters this registry office is manged so badly.

Awful customer service and will not go back. The line-up was out the door, no regard for customer service, or properly scheduling breaks during busy times. Staff were talking behind the counter regarding their upcoming weekend plans. In between customers they always had time to laugh and joke with one another, but always failed to acknowledge the fact they were busy and had customers waiting (very unprofessional). Staff were chewing gum like cows (mouths open), wearing sweat pants,ball caps on backwards, and drinking Starbucks (slurping from a straw). The prices are more then other registries because they charge you for being a customer (fee for using debit machine). Save yourself a lot of trouble and go to a different registry. In fact, for EXCELLENT customer service, go to Southland registry on Horton road.

Went to go take my class 5 road test. Upon arriving the 2 instructors pointed out my brake light was blown out. I was given 15 minutes to fix it somehow or i would fail and have no option of getting my $80 back. Luckily i live very close and i had a spare bulb in my car. I arrived back with 2 minutes to spare and we started the road test. As i was driving i made and accidental left hand turn (100% my fault i take the same road to work and blanked out and took the turn as if i was going) the instructor in the front told me to take an immediate left while the instructor in the back told me to go further and go around the block. i had my indicator on to turn left like the first instructor told me to do but kept going down the short road because the instructor in the back insisted. Because of this confusion it forced 2 other vehicles to stop. I was then automatically failed for impeding on traffic, false indicating and leaving my indicator on for too long, which was caused by them telling me 2 different ways to turn. The kicker of all of this that the instructor in the back was not wearing his seat-belt and was leaning in my car. Almost every person i have ever talked to who has gone to shanwessy has said either A; they failed their first time no matter what or B; they are insanely hard, rude and unforgiving for any nervousness or stress. Dont go here whatsoever, there is an AMA just down the road that is way better along with south land registry. Terrible business.

If I could rate them negative stars I would. The driving instructors don’t teach you how to actually drive. And the people who administer the road test yell then give no feedback. I would never recommend this for any new driver.

Don't expect anyone will provide you clarification regarding procedures and regulations. They probably expect everyone who is coming has a lawyer background. They are just collecting money. They don't check all papers and steps before start changes in your registration documents. And if something goes wrong they blame on you as it was your fault.

I suggest to everybody not to go in this registry. This registry is the worst. Their service is extremely bad. We had to go there twice and waited for more than an hour so that my younger brother can take the learners test. But when it's our turn, they told us that the system is down. Their staff didnt even inform us that there's a problem with the system so we just wasted our time for nothing. So for the second time, my brother wasn't able to take the learners test. If I only have the power to shut that down, I probably did it already. And one more thing, one star is too much for you guys, that should be zero star.

Absolutely the worst service. Appears all staff hate their jobs and shows through customer service. I have dealing with this branch many times, because it’s close too home. But never again!! I would rather drive across the city to another branch. Then set foot back to this branch of brain dead zombies. A word of advice. If you hate your job and dealing with the public. Then maybe you should find other work!

I can see this place is getting much busy than 2 years ago. I remember I only spent 15 mins on my last visit to renew vehicle registration, but this year it's 30+ mins waiting ahead. The staff is very friendly and you can get your things done pretty quick. Just be more patient and nothing to complain.

I originally liked when AB privitized the licencing offices and used to like going here. You could just zip in and out bigity bang but today was my last visit ever. It reminded me of when I lived in Ontario with their Licence Bureau or going to the post officel. First you have to line up outside before going in the front door for people ahead of you to figure out how to work a tablet to enter their cell phone numbers which is painful, then it supposed to text you when your turn happens. I got 1 text at the start saying your registered and 1 about 45 minutes later saying it will be soon. It was another long wait from there. I saw the staff consisted of 3 people servicing a room of 60 or so. The staff certainly were in no hurry and chitty chatty with the customers which takes too long. One out of the 3 staff kept popping in the back for a smoke break or something. Anyways I am disappointed and wont be back.
