You will be able to see all the opinions of real people like you who use the products and services of Field Law (Notary Public) in the area of Alberta (Canada).
Now the business has a rating of 4 out of 5 and this score was based on 31 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is really good, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we may say that the rating is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Notary Public is classified in the category of Law firm.
this firm wasted my partners time and money and allowed the executor to bankrupt the estate without consequence , well there was consequence there's a 30000$ dollar bill and nothing to show for it highly not recommended if you're in an estate battle and are interested in not getting robbed 6 ways from Sunday they won't even give up a copy of the file I hope that this message finds anyone in an estate battle the lawyer was a partner ! he knew what he was doing and obviously couldn't be bothered he one time included a document from another estate in a bundle that was requested
They will ruin your family’s like ours in 15 minutes! And charge you if you call there at any time!
Barry and his team helped me with the sale of my house. Barry handled a number of stressful situations with an ease and directness that only a very competent and experienced lawyer could display. His team was also in sync and on the ball. Dealing with this office was one of the most pleasant interactions I’ve ever had with a law firm. I highly recommend them.
Lyndon Thiessen is an excellent corporate lawyer. He has strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to think outside of the box with intuitive analytical skills.
Barry and his team worked hard to get my mortgage completed in a very narrow timeline. The mortgage instructions arrived a week late, but they dove right in the moment they arrived, and got the work done in record time to meet the deadline. I live in a different province, yet the Field Law team were able to work seamlessly with me electronically, including getting the documents to my local notary/lawyer for me to sign. I fully recommend this company for your legal needs!
Faiz Ali has been excellent to deal with. I highly recommend him
Decent law firm
I can safely say that my situation was dealt only by great professionals at Field Law. They knew everything upside down, including a lot of uncommon situations. They were able to break all legal jargons down to something I could easily understand, and nothing went out of what was predicted and planned. On top of that, they're really friendly and patient. I strongly recommend Field Law, and I'll definitely work with them again if needed.
Simply the best at all they do.
I'm very happy with the legal services provided by Melissa Timbres and Mark Yu. They have helped me with essential legal work required for my growing business. I will definitely be working with them in the future. Very professional and great communication skills.
I rarely provide ratings for companies, but must make an exception for Field Law. In February we were referred to one of the partners in the Edmonton office to take care of a complex document. We specifically asked the partner whether he had experience with these contracts and he emphatically stated he has completed many. We were impressed when he asked for other documentation about our businesses so that he could offer extra services free of charge. He also committed to complete the document (verbally) for a very reasonable fee. We should have had red flags all over the place because so much business was agreed to verbally (aka we don't have a paper trail that can definitively prove what was promised). We were on a tight timeline. Days and weeks turned into months and whenever we asked for an update we were told it was happening and not to worry, but when we received initial drafts it was as if nothing was done. We were reassured that it is all part of the process. Long story short, instead of these documents being finished in 6 weeks for around $6,000. At the end of 4 months we had documents that were next to useless as the partner admitted he hadn't actually ever done this type of document before and had asked for help from another partner. We were also informed our bill was currently sitting at over $20,000... for a document that was legitimately next to useless in its current form. We ended up going to another firm and had everything completed quickly for around... yes, $6,000 without any pain. The partner we had been working with at Field Law stated he would sue us if we didn't pay him the $20,000 we owed for services rendered even after we tried to negotiate stating that we didn't have a document that could be used for anything (sorry... maybe it could be very rough toilet paper). Just yesterday I was informed by the same office (I had hoped I was done with them) that they had my corporate books and wanted to begin charging us for more of their services. I discovered that they had weaselled their way into having my accounting firm send these books over to take over rather than simply to look them over. In other words I was now in a position where I may have to pay an incompetent and dishonest lawyer to manage books I didn't even know they had in the first place. I contacted my accounting firm and they confirmed this has happened to other client in the past (lawyer says he will look at the books for free, ends up taking them from the accounting firm with some very tricky worded emails and communication, then takes over the client from the accounting firm). I apologize for the long-winded review. I wanted to paint a picture that was accurate to what I have experienced and am disgusted that, because a lawyer can cover tracks and get around the law with communication in specific ways, there may be no accountability for these actions. Hopefully this may save a few people from the dangers of working with such a disreputable firm (again, this lawyer is a partner in the firm).
I retained Field Law in regards to a family matter. To date, the service that I have received has been non existent and disrespectful. They were extremely slow in processing documents on a time sensitive matter, causing extra delays for all parties involved. The only constant is the monthly invoice for "services rendered". I have asked for an explanation, and status report. Silence is the norm. Oh, but I did get a reminder of funds owing. For the total disregard in my affairs, I requested that a court document be couriered overnight. It was done, except for one thing:; the documents did not have a court stamp on them. They did expedite, and correct their basic 1st year law student error, and promptly billed me. This firm was recommended to me by a family friend, and I was assured that my needs would be taken care of. In this case, only my bank account has been "take care of" and not in my favour. If I could, Field Law would get no stars.
I worked with Barry for the purchase of my new home. He was extremely helpful when there were issues with the deal going through. As a first time homebuyer it was very nicw having the team from Field law assist me. The whole team is very professional, and responsive to customer questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Barry McGuire when purchasing my first home. Due to the current state of mortgages, we were unable to provide him with the normal time frame for settling our mortgage and reviewing the documentation. Barry and his team however worked hard and went above and beyond to review our purchase and work with us and get everything done in as timely manner as possible. On a personal note, I found Barry had a very kind and relaxing manner. He seemed very chill when we spoke to him, and it helped me to relax during what would have otherwise been a very stressful situation. I would definitely recommend Barry and his team to anyone else who is looking for a good lawyer.
Barry McGuire was the lawyer for the sellers in my first real estate transaction where I represented the buyer. As a new agent, I was stressing about whether the deal would close smoothly and on time, or if there was anything further required of me. I was impressed with Barry's communication and including me in the dialogue as the process progressed. Thanks Barry! I look forward to working with Field Law again!
Nice offices, usually on the insurance side
As an out of town investor, it's important to work with professionals that become your eyes and ears on the ground. Barry C. McGuire and his team at Field Law, go above and beyond the call of duty. His understanding of investor related transactions and negotiating skills are some of the best I have personally experienced. Barry and his team are responsive, professional and reasonably priced. We look forward to a continued relationship.
I enjoyed a top notch seminar at the Field Law office in downtown Edmonton about drone law. Huge thanks to Field Law and especially Erika for putting this on and making a convoluted topic digestible and answering more questions after her presentation.
Is there anything they can't do?
Communication was a big issue during our time working with Field law. They were very hard to get in contact with, leading to misunderstandings that affected the selling and buying of our house.
Great experience. We had Albert for our services. Super friendly and professional. Will use these guys again for sure. Keep up the great work!
Lyndon Thiessen and his team are wonderful. My husband and I have used Field Law a couple times now and every time the process is flawless. They have a great response time and are very thorough in explaining things. Not once have we ever been concerned at any point in the process. Highly recommend and will continue to use them in the future. Thank you again for all your help!
I have worked with Barry McGuire on creative realestate deals over the past year and truely appreciate and value his expertise and transfer of knowledge. Highly recommend his training programs and services and I look forward to continue to work with Barry at Field Law.
Farhana Nurani is a great real estate lawyer. I worked with her on a file that turned out to be a bit of a nightmare, but it could have been a lot worse for my client without her knowledge in the situation! She truly looks after clients best interest! I would highly recommend her!
