The location is a bit hard to find but their notification system gives you their phone number in case you do get lost (I didn't need it but it was nice to know they recognized it might be hard for some to find and that they'd be willing to give directions if needed). I went to get a single document notarized and the customer service rep was not proffesional at all. I waited there for about 50 mins to get a single document notary. And I was overcharged by $ 25. I was told, the amont is $50. When she came, she gave me two documents and said 50$ for first one and $20 for second. I mentioned that I donot need the my licence copy signed. The customer rep did not have the answers to my questions, the document I received was written '"signed by the inactive lawyer member of the Law Society of Alberta" at the bottom. While paying, I gave them $100, she returned me only 25. She charged me $75 instead of $70.

The below review was asked for by the staff so we could get a discount on the Services, which were very expensive compared to others.. the only way to get the discount was to write a positive review, right there in front of them, which below you can see that I did... however, when we went to pay, there was no discount applied. I walked out angry, and meant to go back and change this immediately.. took awhile, but people should know what they will be dealing with.. but just to confirm, the staff were friendly and the service was quick, but due to the pressure for the review with a dangled discount that was not followed through on, and the amounts they charge, I cannot in good conscience give a 5 star review.. so the below comments were pressured and I do NOT highly reccomend them.. I do not recommend them at all... Very friendly staff and quick services. I didn't have an appointment and they got me in and out in no time. Highly recommend!

At first, I was disappointed as no-one responded to my two requests for an appointment when I used the onine form and when I emailed directly. However, upon calling, I was given immediate service and they confirmed my appt. I was especially appreciative that they were available on Saturday as the other party to my notarization had to come in from out of town. Very accommodating. The service was professional and prompt. I was somewhat surprised at the cost (higher than I expected) and there was no discussion of cost prior to the transaction. In a single email exchange with their friendly staff, they helpfully clarified the next steps and reassured me of the process. In the space of a few days, I had an appointment and the forms were completed. Roopam, the Director who notarized my forms, was warm and welcoming. It's rare to find a service that makes dealing with government forms easy, but DocuGenie is one such rare find. I'll be coming back for any other notary needs. In COVID times, they are doing a good job of mandating mask wearing, keeping to social distancing, and sanitizing surfaces. They even had masks available for anyone who didn't have them. We needed notarised copies of passport and driving license and OCI card. They took the passport and driving license to make copies and returned the license back to us. Only after they gave us the notarised copies we found out that the passport copy was missing. They took a few minutes to look for the actual passport and eventually found it somewhere near the copier! No itemized receipt was provided either, just something written on a piece of paper (which makes me question their consistency in pricing). I did not raise a concern about these in person because I needed to get our documents notarized on short notice.

Handled my background check, the RCMP makes it difficult if you don't get your dates exactly right. The criminal background check is a lengthy process if you've come from Quebec but incredibly fast if you need a document within 24hrs. NO STARS. Needed some documents notarized for probate in British Columbia. So called expert that "KNOWS THE LAW" acts like he is a lawyer(?) would not sign unless has original stamp (not needed).I was treated like a criminal. Went to a real Lawyer the next day, same papers, no problems. Everything stamped and signed as wanted by B.C Lawyers. Now they have a copy of my drivers licence (Copy NOT NEEDED by real Lawyer) to do what ever they want. Going to government privacy dept to see what I can do about licence copy.

Document Genie is indeed an amazing place to be.I got a name change and had quite a few documents to be given to vital statistics. It was a real pain of going office to office and taking days off from work to get things done. Fingerprinting was done at one office and for other things I came to them. But when I came to them I was glad to know they are starting fingerprinting soon and also adding photos . That's so wonderful. No need to go from office to office to get things done. All at one place . Highly recommend . They should be advertising more for all the other stuff they do apart from translations and notarization

Very friendly staff & great service! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars was because there was a mishap with their online scheduling. I scheduled for a same day appointment using their online scheduler but the notaries were not in the office during the time I booked for. However, the lady in the office did clarify that they had blocked their schedule a bit too late & that was how I was able to book. As I had booked for the same day they had not seen the booking early enough to reschedule, so I ended up waiting 1 1/2 hours as I had taken the bus to get here. But the lady in the office was very friendly & kind. She offered me some food and water to snack on while I was waiting for the notary. Everything else went by smoothly. Just make sure to call in for an appointment rather than use the online scheduler if it’s a last minute booking :)

I called to make an appointment with one of their professionals to make a separation agreement with my former spouse and current room mate. I was told to bring our ID's and any information we had on paper for the agreement. I specifically asked if there was anything else we needed to bring or forms we needed to fill out before we got there so we would have a seamless appointment. I told them we couldn't find any proper documentation online and that I was concerned that we didnt have the agreement written properly. I was told not to worry and that if we did not have the proper documents, they would provide them for us on site with a witness for signing, if required. We were thrilled and they even fit us in the same day within two hours, so made the 20 minute drive to get this dealt with. We were greeted within about 10 minutes by a lady who seemed very uncertain about anything- asking us if the separation agreement was only for one of us or both of us.. We humored the odd question and were directed to have a seat in the hall. This lady returned a few minutes later with our ID's and said that she had "spoken with her boss and that they would send the required forms to our email later today and to come back another time". We protested, stating what we had been specifically told on the phone and she stood there just shaking her head and eyes looking like a deer in the headlights, appearing unaware of what we were talking about. This place wasted our time and no professionals were even willing to speak with us. I wouldn't waste your time here.

It is located in an old run down building, the receptionist barely speaks English so there's no use asking any questions because she doesn't understand anything. They do the job. But not very upfront with pricing and details of the process. I needed to notarized documents, called in advance to confirm pricing and details, once there had to wait for a long period of time (around and hour) waiting for them to review paperwork (3 documents) asked again about pricing and they told me at the end we will review that. So they went ahead and did all I needed but forgot to mention the details of price per signature, stamps abs process. At the end they were charging almost 4 times what I had in mind according to the PhoneCall. After a short discussion they offered a discount however, was around a 100 dollars more than what I was told over the phone. Need to be more specific and upfront specially when it is about money.

Hello, I highly recommend using the services of Document Genie. I got their contacts from a friend of mine and I came as a walkin on Friday 15 minutes before they close at 7pm, I told them that I need about 15 stamps of my passport translated by Sunday the latest. The issue was I needed those translations just in case for my citizenship exam on Monday 8am and to be prepared for an interview with officers after. The staff was very receptive, helpful and professional. They helped me out and promised me the translation will be done by Sunday 5pm and indeed that's what happened. In fact they opened their office just for me on Sunday 5pm in a 15cm snowy day. I can't thank them enough. Oh and they're prices are very competitive and they charged me the same price they usually take (no advantage was taken). Thanks Document Genie you guys are awesome.

I would caution against using their services. While the services were professional and quick, I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism in following through with agreements. I was originally given a discount (I was a second time user asking for a reprint of work they had done for me previously), was asked to pay upfront, but then was told - without credible explanation - that I couldn't receive half the documents I had asked for. The only explanation I was given was that they didn't keep copies of passport copies (which was what was missing from the package I had asked for). I was suddenly expected to pay extra for the passport copies despite the initial agreement of having "everything" done at the discounted price. We did finally work it all out at the discounted price (and it turned out they did keep copies of passport copies!) but it cost me several days of pushing back and having to show written proof of the original agreement (which happened over text message). It was disappointing to me that the trust I put in their business was abused and that the vulnerable situation I was in - trying to get supporting documents together for a citizenship application - was taken advantage of. I feel like I should have only agreed to pay a portion of the fee upfront and only give them the rest once all the documents were received. After this experience, I don't feel I could go back to them and trust promises they make. It's not possible.

Indeed they are the team of Genies who are always on their toes to help you get your tedious tasks done hassle free. I am mostly busy so I prefer something like chat support to inquire things or to interact with customer care representatives rather than wasting time on those long holds and call queues. When it came time to pay, it was almost twice what I'd pay if I went to a different place. I guess its my fault for not figuring out the prices in advance. I won't make that mistake again.
