It's know in Canmore that they charge more then any other Registry. Go to Banff and save your money. I had a document processed today and they were 50% higher in "service fees" then Banff. Better service in Banff as well.

I've never been a fan of registry offices. Whether it's in Calgary, Canmore or an MTO office back home in Toronto. Line ups are always long, the staff are obviously stressed out, etc. Thankfully, my visits to the Canmore registry have always been positive. Just make sure you go first thing in the morning. I'm sure the line ups, along with temperaments will start to show as the day progresses.

There is no where to know that you need to text your information or no entry. Lady keeps stating what to do and asking you to leave. Not customer friendly at all.

15 years coming here and its always a nigtmare.Lobby filled with people waiting (8-10) stinks of cigarette smoke from outside, 1 staff, other staff person hanging around. Most people in town say its better and faster to go to Banff or Calg and i agree.

I was changing my driver's license from BC to Alberta. Short wait of about 6-7 minutes to get service. Staff spoke fluent English and the lady that served me was pleasant. I had to bring a piece of mail to prove my Alberta address. It was something from the CRA. The clerk almost rejected it because it wasn't a letter envelope but my address was on top of the letter. The thing is the CRA doesn't put your address on an envelope but they put it on the letter and then the envelope has a clear window that pictures the part of the letter that has the address. There was a moment when her decision to accept this as proof of address seemed to hang in the balance. She decided to accept it but that felt like luck that could have gone against me so I guess I'm saying bring as much proof of address as you can because they don't have a seamless process for this. Also $93.00 to change my driver's license was overpriced but I was happy to get it for five years. I guess it was a very average experience.

Went in today from about 2 to 3pm. Two of the four visible employees were not wearing masks, and two customers in the waiting area were also not wearing masks. When inquired about the mask policy, the employee communicated rudely as though she were annoyed. Perhaps this facility missed the memo that we are in a pandemic and there is a mandatory mask mandate? This is massively disappointing and, frankly, quite disrespectful to those who don't want to / can't afford to catch COVID-19. I have filed a complaint with Alberta Environmental Public Health.

After I read many negative reviews, I was not willing to go here and was thinking to go Banff Registry, but it is more convenience to go here than any other places for me, so I went here. There were two ladies in this office and both of them were so nice, friendly, and professional, so I was not sure how they got many negative reviews. I was extremely satisfied with their services and felt much better services than Banff Registry in my view. I am happy to go here again and can recommend to go here.

Well, I honestly was prepared for the worst. I showed up early and waited behind another gentleman already lined up outside. I had all my documents to renew my registration and cash in hand. Turns out my insurance card had all my personal info xxxx out. Doh!! Out to my car I went to call my broker to get a proper card emailed. I hoped the registry would accept an email pink card. Back in I went to a line of people. I grabbed a number and waited. It wasn’t long before the same service agent spotted me and took me in right away. She was helpful, happy, and I was in and out just as fast as any place I’ve ever gone to. I paid cash and the fee was the same as any other place. Maybe it was early and the staff weren’t tired, or maybe she is happy all the time. Regardless, I’m grateful and appreciative of the pleasant and fast service.

The dark-haired woman I was dealing with at the counter has absolutely no business dealing with any customers. She barked at the customer in front of me telling her to "get out" because she had not yet received a text telling her to come inside. Then she raised her voice and berated me when I answered my phone as she was reviewing my license and paperwork. Before I even had the chance to ask the person on the other end of the call that I would call them right back, this extremely rude staff member started yelling at me. Unbelievable.

The service is always efficient and knowledgeable, and I find the prices for the services I use to be quite reasonable. I have never waited more than 15 minutes for anything, and the number system that they use for the line usually works well. I've lived in Australia, the USA and Canada, and Alberta Registry in general is amazing compared to similar services that I have used in other countries. The Department of Motor Vehicles in both Texas and Louisiana are a nightmare, just like on the Simpsons, no exaggeration. An hour in line, just to be told you filled out the form wrong when they hit the first mistake, and then they refuse to check the rest of the form and just send you to the back of the line. So waiting less than 15 minutes at the Canmore Registry office, and then having actually competent help from the staff, is great.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Billed me incorrectly (according to them) the first time. Then proceeded to take the form I paid for right out of my hands. The person at the counter forgot the "service fee" which was not conveyed to me in any way prior to the payment being processed. They demanded I pay an extra $50 for a service fee to get the form I originally paid for that the manager ripped out of my hands. Worst experience possible from a government of Alberta representative. Would not use this location again if you paid me. Go up the road to Banff I'm sure they would be 100% more helpful.

I have lived in this town for 3 years and used the services of this office several times. They have three major issues: 1: no matter what time of day I call, or how many times I call they never answer the phone. Upon testing from within the office, i have discovered the phones do not even ring. So they either have the wrong phone number posted, have some other unseen employee answering the phone and doing a terrible job or are purposfully ignoring phone calls. Absolutly unnaceptable either way for a registry office. To add salt onto the injury, they dont have a hold feature like every other registry office so your only choice is to call back or E-mail them. 2: always understaffed, resulting in constant lines and crowded front office 3:only allow booking road tests etc in person with cash, which is not only inconvenient but results in having to sit in the aformentioned lines to get a service that is available at every other registry office online.

Poor customer service. Mixed staff attitude. Last lady I dealt with there seems unhelpful and have a sarcastic mannerism. Concerned about closing on time and kept mentioning their closing time multiple times while we were rushing to send the paperwork. Fees are higher here and charge they’re customers extra for debit or credit card. Bring cash to avoid extra charges. They’re reviews on google is horrifying and they need to be more customer friendly

This texting thing to get your turn and check in is ridiculous! I waited outside and inside more than half an hour to only renew my vehicle registration card which took less than 2 minutes! There were 2 guys before me both renewing their driving license and that's why I waited too long, I don't know who has created this texting and then check in, but you could do better, come on people you could be more innovative and at least try prioritizing people's task, so people can wait less for simple things, or try to give an appoinment for more complicated and time consuming tasks, however staffs are friendly as always, I just didn't like your new system, sorry but it is terrible.

I have avoided this registry for 15 years because of the persistent lack of customer service and high prices. I thought I would give it another go today but nothing has changed. The woman behind the counter was agitated snippy and rude.Until she and her staff move on I will not go into that office again.

Had my wallet and all cards stolen in Banff. At 4:45 pm close to closing the ladies at this registry helped me very efficiently get my temporary driver’s licence with only my bank ap as I had no ID. Extremely helpful and made my day! Thank-you for your assistance on a bad day for me!

Compared to most Registries I have been to - this one was exceptionally friendly. I appreciated their text in technology and was very surprised that I did not have to wait in line (all other registries I have been to have had very long lines) The office has great quotes throughout to keep you entertained while waiting. The team was friendly, super helpful and organized. I would recommend going here.

Won’t be going here ever ! The way they treat people is not ACCEPTABLE . They had a couple come there who had lost a marriage certificate and needed it as they were getting married . And more then enough time but this “manager “ didn’t want to help this couple out ! Told them to “leave” this is not very nice during these covid times . Maybe she should have a heart as couple just wanted to pay for marriage license and get married . I don’t recommend supporting this store I’m all for supporting small business and local But this woman needs to learn “customer service” and how to be kind and love during covid .

They are struggling to keep up. Took 4 trips to get my vehicle registered. Stood outside in the wind for 1 hour yesterday and only one person got in. Went first thing this morning, only to find they had reduced the working hours. Then they didn't serve the first customer until 10 past the hour. Sympathize with lone server, but suggest getting this done in Calgary or Banff if you venture out. Canmore needs another registry!

I was visiting Canmore from Calgary and thought I might as well register a motorcycle I had purchased the week before so I went to Canmore Registry. Although the wait time was a little long it was very organized in how they handle the texting and the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

The most expensive and ridiculous service. Always trying to earn more money through tricks. The road test lady is a nightmare to deal with. So rude and arrogant which made me more nervous. It’s like they don’t want you to pass so that they can make money from two attempts. There’s another young lady who usually sit on the farther left booth everytime. I don’t know who hired her with that attitude. If you can’t be helpful than don’t be in this business.Off to Banff i go! Never coming back again.

I'm not one to usually complain, but this registry is taking advantage of its monopoly in Canmore. Their fees are all much higher than registries elsewhere. For example, a drivers abstract from them costs $35 while most other places are only $23. Hi elsewhere if you can.

Was served in a timely manner and the woman who helped me to revive my corporation was beyond helpful. She knew what she was doing and made the whole experience easy. I live in Banff and the registry there is a constant nightmare people bringing their whole family into the registry, packed and I'm always constantly getting disappointed by the services offered in Banff. I can attest that traveling 15 minutes to Canmore us worth the customer service and it also has cheaper services. I will always be using this registry from now on.

Litterally the worst service I've ever seen. The women that were working had dirty looks on their faces and were very mean and not helpful at all. They seemed like they did not even want to be there and were very annoyed to have to do anything . Not one smile or how are you today. At one point I was standing in the waiting area because my back was injured and she scowled at me and told me to sit down . Worst experience ever just cold stares and very bad service.

Awful service. I've bene trying to book a road test but they don't take credit card because they couldn't be bothered to pay fees, so I have to go in every day to see if there's a spot available. You're also stuck with whatever time they give you, as they have to book the times one after another. I'll just go to Banff.

Often when at the registry we are doing something exciting. For my self recently it's been preparing my Jeep for the the road and today I go back for a motor cycle license plate. But to get thoese things done we're thrown into a drab government system, because as we know there always paper work. I think in part that is why some of these reviews are unfavorable Because the nature of paper work is unfriendly. For all the times I've come here my frustrations have been related to the fact that I forgot my debit card or that I was lacking a required document I do agree the staff could be more gentle but they have never sent me away with out finishing what I needed when I bring them the right tools (i.e paperwork and money.

They have instituted a system where you text your name to a number that you can find on their website. This tells where you are in the waiting line. They then text you when they want you to come in. They only allow 2 people inside to wait. It works great and will be even better when more people know about it. There are signs up outside but not everyone stops to read it. The staff were disinfecting after each person.

The province charges $20 for a birth certificate and I was thinking the "service fee" would be $10-15. I was charged $51 by this registries office a 150% markup! I called Banff registries (owned by the same person) and they charge $41. Cochrane Charges $41. Shop around and go anywhere but here. I will not step foot in this place again. Robbery!

Worst customer experience coming from a government of Alberta representative. Extremely rude and entitled staff. I felt like I was talking to a wall. Still can't figure out why they didn't accept my paperwork with no explanation or guidance as of what to do to make it right. For those of you who want to become safe and knowledgeable drivers, I recommend that you consider taking your business elsewhere if you plan on using this as a testing facility. Expect obnoxious and unprofessional service from the moment you walk in. The attitude of the staff and noise levels here are terrible.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews. I feel like this is so necessary so that people hopefully see this and go elsewhere. Every time I have had to renew my car's registration the staff has been belligerent. The most recent time I walked in the door and the staff member was very condescending and said there was a sign outside that said to wait until I was invited in. I went back outside, looked, came back in, and told her there was no sign. She went, looked, agreed, and clearly angry with me, stated: "There's always a lineup around the door." I was wearing a mask of course and legitimately try to be polite to anyone serving me. I asked if I could register my car (annoyed with myself for procrastinating and waiting until the last day and not doing this in Banff which has way better service) and she got it done - just very obviously grumpy. This place for years has consistently provided the worst service. Their consistency is remarkable. Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs! Super slow. Go anywhere else if you need more than “1 service” as they send you to join the end of the line for each “service” you require. It’s like being sent to the end of the line for each item you buy at a grocery store. Waited over an hour for them to get from number 27 to 31, our number in the queue. After my daughter completed her learners test, they sent her to the end of the line in order to pay for her licence. By that point they were serving number 34, some 45+ minutes, later. We drew number 50! Pull out your sleeping bag and prepare for another lengthy wait. Four hours total to get through the Canmore registry office. Well done!

The service was fast and friendly let me be clear on that. But they fail to justify why they charge 100$ for service fee for a name change when I was in there for exactly 15 minutes. That is basically 400$/hour. They overlook the paper that you bring in, make sure you got it all, sign it and send it ! Find a registery in calgary if you want to save some money!
