You will see the reviews of real people like you who are consuming the services of A-Plus Registry Services Ltd (Notary Public) in the area of Alberta (Canada).
Currently this firm gets a score of 2.6 stars over 5 and the score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is average, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to give their score when they are satisfied with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set scores when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

Absolutely wonderful. Took my road test here and the examiner Julie was very nice and clear while giving instructions. Examiner was very fair in marking and I've passed. All the staff in this registry are also respectful and kind! Thank you, will come back in the future.
Ok I've had a good experience here and a few bad ones a lot more than the good. But the real issue I have is pictured below. 5 counters open 1 person being served.... And it's not just so happens to be that I snapped a pic at that time. It was like this the entire time I was there. Only 2 people out of the 5 assisted anyone for about 10 minutes before I decided to take a picture. There's about 10 or so people waiting.
Online info says 7PM closing. Get here and it is 5PM. Get it straight folks. And they still require masks. Are we following provincial mandates or not? Wow. Sort it out. A plus? All I see is "F" so far.....
Have nothing but great things to say about the staff working and the service I received today. Took my road test and they made sure there was a car available for me, they were on time for my booking and very friendly. The instructor was friendly, knowledgeable and calming. Passed on my first try, they are NOT trying to scam you out of money. Please pass on my thanks to the instructor and the staff for a great experience!
Today my wife experienced the same situation that David Vonesch mentioned... and it happened in the last 100 meters of the test!!! I kindly ask the management to evaluate and do something with the evaluations. Your rating is terrible pushed by your road tests. I usually go to the registry for other stuff and never had a complaint. I took my road test twice there and the first one was with the same examiner than her. A cold and uncomfortable experience with a guy that tried to accumulate points. My second test was with other examiner and his kind attitude provide me the best environment to drive comfortable... then passed the test. The examiner is part of the road tests and the experience, passing or not the test, need to be nice and not ruined by a non proper attitude.
Awful. Their driver examiner absolutely hosed my daughter on a drivers test, insisting that we rent a vehicle that was unsafe in that she couldn't see out the windshield due to the seat being too low for her height. We believe it was a cash grab. Unaccommodating, unfriendly, and unreasonable. We would never recommend this place and we will not use its services again.
I went here for a driving test and Davinder failed me for things that I didn't even do. He kept saying I was speeding when in fact I was definitely not. Who in their right mind would even speed during a driving test?! And multiple times at that! I think it's their mandate to fail people so that you pay again for these tests. What a ridiculous and corrupt system!
Don’t go there very cheat customer service I went to Amend my business license she It will cost you $21 Once she add in the system she said $31 After print she ask $51 Can anyone believe that Then I asked her to cancel business and make new one because I paid $60 for new one just 4 months ago Once she did again she ask for $72 I ask her why is that then she said no it’s $62 Never ever go there
Most of the reviews for this place are so gruesome! I'm 60 so I don't have to do driver's tests. Not sure I would pass if I did. I have always had stellar service from Carrie, and I would suggest that if you are being railroaded in this registry then ask for Carrie! She is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She always goes over and above expectations. Carrie has helped me regarding complex issues, and always explains everything. She cuts red tape and makes things work. Carry is the reason why I always go to this registry.
This place states that it is open till 7:00pm on the internet. Upon arriving at 6:00pm the doors were locked, the tablet on the window said they're open till 5:00pm... Poor management on the registry side, wasting peoples time...
Yeah I give this place an F...definitely not A+. I was charged $20 more at this registry for the same service I received elsewhere ($45 vs. $65). What a total rip-off!
Horrible experience here. Tried to ask them a question regarding what documentations were needed. The guy on the phone started getting super rude to me and wouldn't let me speak to explain my situation. He told me that I had already spoken and I need to stop being rude. Not once did I raise my voice, swear or anything. When I asked if there was someone else I could talk to regarding the situation that might be able to provide me more information and not argue with me on the phone I was quickly told no! We will not be returning here for any of our needs while we are in Calgary. Worst customer service ever!
Do not take any exams here. The instructor will round up your speed and auto fail you. He is extremly rigid and will deduct 10 points if you are 5 over. He rounded my speed from 58 to a 60 after merging. I corrected my speed and he still listed it as 60 and failed me. This instructor also have me an f for lacks caution at an uncontrolled interaction because I didn't slow down enough for him when I had already slowed to 25. He's just extremly rigid and unfair. I will definitely be reporting this instructor and caution anyone from going here. You'll be wasting your money.
I had a road test at this location at the beginning of the month. I wasn't successful, this is massively annoying but not at bad as the examiner forgetting to return my drivers license towards the end. I hadn't noticed until today. I sent them an email early this morning hoping they still had it. They called me back to inform me not only did they not have it but the examiner is the one who is supposed to return it to me after the test. It gets better, according to the agent who called, they have no idea who that examiner was. They don't have his contact information, there's was nothing they can do for me. In short I had went to a registry for an exam, failed, and then the examiner takes off with my license. If I could give them negative points I would. I'll be contacting Service Alberta. Absolutely unacceptable.
Great and fast service. No reason to complain ????
I am writing to you on behalf of my fiancé who was slated to complete a Class 5 Advanced Road Test today at A-Plus Registry located at 3604 52 Ave NW #114, Calgary, AB T2L 1V9. When he arrived for his 9:30am appointment they did an assessment of his vehicle and assessed that his back cab light was not functional as well as he had window tint and that his road test could not be completed and therefore his money was forfeited. While I understand the rules and regulations in place, I simply feel this is unacceptable and quite frankly robbery as it’s 150.00 to complete the exam. If this is the case the individual should be granted the opportunity to come prior to their appointment to confirm if their vehicle is worthy of the test and if not they should be given the chance to obtain another vehicle prior to their test starting. He was given this opportunity 10 years ago when he got his initial license at the same registry. In addition to the previous stated thought I also feel that the registry should have some compassion and flexibility to move the person to another spot during the same day (in this case there were several appointments in the afternoon). I just have to say I am truly disappointed with this situation and the money grab it is for individuals who are trying to better their futures and need a full Class 5 to obtain certain jobs. Sadly a lesson learned today but I feel Alberta Transportation and Alberta Registry's need to do better.
Please change the hours on the site. Say closed at 7pm but actually closed at 5pm. So a waste of time to go and the door was shut
People were nice. Cant remember the name of my instructor but he made me feel incredibly uncomfortable at the end of the test, saying he would fail me if i didn't tell him where we're celebrating., amongst other inappropriate comments. I brushed it off as a joke but still feel violated to this day.
I used the online registry services for a Vehicle Information Report without even thinking about the turnaround time for the report to be completed. I needed the VIR the next day, and started panicking when I realized it might have to be mailed out to me. I put in the request just after 5pm, knowing they close at 7pm, and when I called to see about the turnaround time and delivery method, the kind lady at the other end informed me it was normally about a 2 hour turnaround time, and that they email it to me. I figured I would probably get it the next day as I didn't give them 2 hours, but to my surprise I received an email just under an hour and a half after putting in my request. They were very punctual with the report, and it was exactly what I needed. I can't comment on their in-person customer service, but their online store was very easy to use and the customer service over the phone was extremely pleasant and helpful.
Very rude staff especially when you call their customer care number. There is a particular staff named Zoha, when this guy picks the call be sure to have a very bad service. They do not deserve any star at all. My advice to anyone reading this, do not book your road test with them, you will have an unpleasant experience. I wish I saw others reviews before booking with them.
I've renewed registration and DL here a few times. Staff are friendly and helpful enough. Never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. It's a registry, not sure what everyone else is expecting? Google what you need to bring before you visit.
Slowest service at any registry and they didn't even let me complete my road test after making some mistakes - I paid for the full test AND to rent their car, the least you can do is test me for my parkings. Also received next to no feedback or explanation for why so many of my points had been deducted. AVOID THIS PLACE FOR ROAD TESTS LIKE THE PLAGUE
The management is awesome in a way for hiring such impolite people on planet Earth. Went there to register my car they said there is a lean on the my 16 year old car that I just bought. Staff asked me to call the company to get a release letter. I have been trying to do that for a week and never got a response from the company that's another issue. But went back to the registry today and then I got to know that they can actually do a lean check for $18.00 which I asked them to do and got the vehicle registered. I asked the staff "does all of your staff aware of this option??" She said "Yes, but it is the last option" replied "but it is still an option." Should have saved me tone of time and money as I couldn't drive for almost a week.
Hear me out people!! This is the worst registry place in the whole world. All the examiners are terrible. They will undoubtedly fail you on the first road test and give fake feedback. The whole place is a total scam Customer service is absolutely slow. There is an old man who will give you instant chills. Also, there is a white lady who has an extremely poor examiner skill and lies about your demerit points. If you take a road test with that lady, you don't even need to enter the car, consider yourself failed and go home. She ask unnecessary questions while you're driving. It was so distracting. I would highly suggest you to pick any registry place but this one!
One stop for all your registry needs. Staff are patient and understanding.
Good examiner but the lady at the desk forgot to get my boyfriend to sign the papers to get his license in the mail and took almost two weeks for them to notice, so while he is waiting for his license to come it hasn't even been sent out. When she called me to inform me and him of this she was rude and seemed clueless. Bad customer service definitely will never go there again!
Worst experience ever! Just because I don't fully understand the documents needed for the written driving license as an international students and have to come back to ask 3 times, the staff then talks to me with an angry, cruel voice that i can never imagine from a registry agent. Never come back again!
I opened my corporation through this registry. When I asked (several times) the price, i have been told it's $470 (for numbered corporation). I paid money and when I received the corporation bundle, there was receipt stating $428 for corporation formation fees + $42 as a sale of legal ease product. Until unless you pay, they won't give you binder, and they put receipt on the binder and once you paid there is no way to reverse it. Legal ease binder that they sell you is not worth at all, my accountant also told me that it is ripoff from A-plus registry. Now I feel I am being cheated because upon asking they never mentioned that $428 is price of opening up incorporation and $42 is for legal ease binder. It's pure cheating and rip off. I inquired the same thing, same way in other registries and I have been told prices separately. I own business too but making money like this is totally not acceptable so please beware opening up incorporation here....go somewhere else!!! spending $42 on legal ease booklet should have been totally my choice and I am not binded legally to purchase it from you (and it doesn't come with it when you register your business) or at all whatsoever so please change your business practices...One registry called Registries plus in Northeast is the best if you ever want to incorporate your business.
I've consistently had good service - even during the COVID pandemic
I completely agree with the customers that have given NEGATIVE feedback on the driving test experience at this registry. I know people who have taken their first test at the registry and failed. I failed today and it's not like I am complaining because I failed. I completely disagree on the reason why I was failed and felt it was done deliberate. I did talk to the manager and when inquired about the negative comments/ test experience, he replied that social media comments doesn't matter to him. Are you serious? Social media does play a huge rule and I will strongly suggest people to please share their test experiences even if they are good! Please share and let OTHERS help! Problem: I didn't agree with the examiner that I didn't look at the uncontrolled T intersection. Although he agreed that I slowed at all the intersections but I didn't look. My argument is when I slowed down obviously, I was looking for the people/cars- I didn't slow down to count the birds in the sky!! As an examiner it is your job to verify that where the test-taker is looking How can this be improved... 1) Please let us record the full test so there is evidence and check and balance (Unfortunately, they won't let you do it and that's a big problem). Why can't a test-taker not record? Why can't there be a check and balance. The irony is because one cannot provide any evidence! In my opinion, they are there to fail you for the first time for no reason and make money- SCAMMERS!!! For test takers, my honest opinion is to NOT TO GO TO this registry for your road test. Thanks
This is the WORST place I have ever visited in my life. I had advanced driving test at 12 PM and I was there 20 minutes earlier. I was told that someone will be with me at 12 PM, so I waited. I did not get any response until 12:10 PM, so I told the girl working in the front that my test is supposed to start at 12 PM and I have another appointment immediately after this test. She told the examiner but he kept on talking with other two people. I repeatedly told the lady and she reminded him but he did not listen to her. He started my test at 12:30 PM but no apologies, nothing for being late. I told him my test is supposed to start at 12 PM and immediately after this test I have another appointment, I am afraid that I might be late. His response was quite frustrating. He kept on telling his own business priorities. I have been driving in Canada almost all kinds of roads since long and abroad as well but his intention from the beginning was how to fail, however, I was confident enough to pass the test. Surprisingly, he collected all his stupid reason, which were not correct to fail me and asked me to pay again and give road test. His motivation is to fail in test is to make the people pay more than one times so that he can collect more money from everyone. It was quite frustrating and I thought to complain someone in higher authority in the office but unfortunately I found he was himself the owner of the Registry. I felt I am being cheated. I will never go back to this registry and do not recommend to anyone to visit this place. When I shared with my friends, most of them have the same bitter experience like me.
I had a terrible experience here. I went to take my road test and the my examiner was incredibly rude and unfair. I went in with my husbands car which he has used previously for his own road tests but the examiner claimed the car unusable because of a crack in the windshield. This was a basic road test too! No wonder this place has bad reviews. I don't know what's wrong with people.
I did an advanced road test here and it was a great experience, the instructor was really nice and professional (and fair). Also all clerk ladies are very nice and helpful. I recommend this registry to everybody. Thanks
Note: location moved (somewhat) recently. No longer near outside of strip mall but nestled in inside corner. 2 great experiences here in the past few weeks. In and out very quickly and able to accomplish everything I was hoping to. There was a mixup with some of the documentation required but the staff were patient and able to help resolve the issue in the same visit. Furthermore, being open through the evening makes it possible to visit after standard work hours.
I did my learners test alone and was helped by staff. They were very nice and I got things done in a reasonable time.
The best registry I have been to. Lines moves faster because staff are efficient and knowledgeable. They are courteous and friendly, especially Sarah! She is awesome!!! THANK YOU!
If I can rate them - ⭐️ I would! This place is terrible. -( I don’t recommend anyone coming to this place for road test)- I did my class 5 gdl road test there 4 times and each time they failed me for aromatic fail and each time I had below 50 points. The first 2 imes I did the class 5 road test I failed on my behalf i I will admit that they where right for failing me but the 3rd and 4th time I did the road test I couldn’t believe how he lied to fail me! For the 4th time I did the road test, not to mention it’s the same guy who has failed me 2 times already I forgot his name but he wears a turban…. Anyways I did the road test very good for the 4th time and when he told me how many points I got he said 55points for small mistakes but then he said I automatically fail because at the very start I ran over a curb exiting the parking lot, whitch I never did!!!!!!!!!! I went to complain about his false report to the owner / boss right after and he made me apologize for being rude!!!!! and didn’t help me at all. This place is very bad I would not recommend anyone coming to this location doing class 5 road test.
Older gentleman who works there is a very friendly and patient man. Thanks for the good service!
I don't usually do review, unless I am really fed up with it. I hand-taught my daughter everything and I knew she's ready. I heard about this place has the hardest examiner, so I chose this place for my daughter's road test. What I thought was, harder it is, the safer my daughter will be driving on the road in the future. My assumption was wrong, very wrong in fact. If someone drive the way the examiner wanted to, in order to pass the road test. I can almost guarantee you that this person will kill someone or have himself killed in the next few weeks. Pay more money and go to somewhere else better for your family's sake.
Highly recommend this registry. The personal is very helpful and they do provide all the information needed. I have used this location several times over the last year and the experience was consistent: the people working there are warm and friendly, they know a lot of useful information and have the patience to share it.
Paid $100 for our marriage license, and they messed it up and didn’t tell us until a week before our wedding, via a voicemail telling us to call them. Called them multiple times with no answer, now we have to drive to the registry and figure this out a few days before our wedding all because they made a mistake. Not worth the $100 service fee. I highly recommend you go to another registry, at least they answer the phone.
I wouldn't recommend this place for a class 4 road test. Just because you may not understand the road terrain. The examiner's intent is to trick you. Everything went well for me until the examine said make a left turn and go STRAIGHT. it was really dark, unknown to me, there was a keep right road sign leading unto a two way traffic (divided road) , immediately after the left turn.. the road is so awkward that you have to make a quickly 10 degree turn to merge onto the other lane. Or else you will have a head collision with the cars on the opposite direction. it's not that I don't know my keep right road sign, I mean I encounter that sign everyday, but in all my 8 years of driving , I have never driven on such awkward road design. And I can bet you,it's those kind of roads you always want to avoid. Why would my examiner say make a left turn and go straight, when he knows that I would have to turn on to a divided traffic in less than one minute?
Very happy with the service and and employees this place has for its customers, first thing I did was get in my truck and wrote a review. Quick and smart people!
I've used this service several times to renew my driver's license and vehicle registration and never had any issues.
They do not know Alberta motor policies well enough, try to make you think you've done something wrong.
AVOID THIS REGISTRY. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very disappointed with the experience at this location, and will probably never use this registry in the future. I am purchasing a new vehicle and transferring my plates, I have never done this before so the experience is very new to me. The agent I spoke to was a male probably in their early 30s, but was very condescending and had a tone in their voice that was almost as if I was bothering them by asking them to simply do their job the entire conversation. The dealership I bought the car from gave me several pieces of paperwork for the sale of my vehicle and I provided everything I had to the agent at the desk. The agent immediately started to ask me if I had 'X' paper and 'Y' paper and before even checking my documents said that we most likely wont be able to do this, at this point I just handed them everything the dealership gave me and advised that this is what was given to me to get my registration done. The agent quickly thumbed through my papers, loudly exclaiming "NOPE" every time he flipped the pages. He said we are not able to process the transfer without all of the required paperwork, however the dealership advised me that they might say that and told me that they are able to fax the documents to the registry and it should work as that is what they have done for other customers in the past. I advised to the agent at the desk that I can have the correct documents faxed to them from the dealership right away, but he refused and said we need to have the original documents from the dealership. I called the dealership and they offered to have someone drive down and drop off the documents, however the agent at the desk the whole time was asking me if they are bringing "X" form and "Y" form again, at which point I advised them that I do not work at the dealership and will have to wait and see what the sales person brings with them. At this point the agent at the desk seemed very annoyed by my request and said they "most likely won't be able to do it since the dealership most likely won't bring the right documents." At this point I could tell that this agent was not going to be willing to help me, their tone of voice and behaviour made me feel as if I was being a nuisance to the agent for asking them to simply do their job and was expecting me to be an expert in registration with all the pointed questions he was asking me. I felt uncomfortable with the level of service I was receiving so I advised the agent that there is no need to be rude, I was just trying to get something done that I do not fully know the process for. The agent felt as if I was attacking them at this point by simply asking why there were being so rude, and I told him I didnt appreciate the condescending tone in his voice; the agent became really defensive after I asked them that question. At this point I did not feel comfortable staying at the registry to be berated by this agent any longer so I called the sales person that was on their way to not come anymore, left and went to a different registry. The funny thing is the second registry I went to had no issue processing my request with the documents I brought with me, without having the dealership deliver any extra papers. I seriously do not understand why the agent at A-Plus registry was being so difficult, I can understand if the registry was busy but there was literally only one other customer being helped by a different agent the same time I had come into the registry. In summary I will never come back here again and would advise against others using this registry as well due to the poor customer service I received from this particular agent, but it seems through other reviews that this seems to be a regular occurrence at this location.
Their staff was so unprofessional and no any knowledge about how to work with their own system. They just have horrible customer service even they made mistakes and they didn’t give us the refund. They even said:"u can do the report, and I don’t care. U’ll not get refund form us”. Don’t waste your time on this place.
Carrie was absolutely amazing this morning. We needed to get an ID card for my disabled daughter, and Carrie was so patient and helpful! Thank you Carrie, and thank you A-plus registry for having staff like Carrie to take good care of your customers.
Oh my, never had such super amazing help. Krissy, hope she gets to read this, was super super helpful. She was patient, her sense of humor was next to none, kept asking questions to make sure she gets all the help I needed. I recommend 5* plus. For me it's more than an A+ for this Registry.
Always go there to renew my driver's license and car registration all the time. Few days ago, I came there to update my driver's license and car registration and I didnt feel satisfied with their service. Young blonde lady was taking care of us and I felt really upset about her attitude. The way she treat us was very rude and she was really grumpy that I could feel like she does not want to work. I hope she doesn't treat other people like us.
I've made many visits to this registry in the last few months because of my August wedding (marriage license, certificate, update drivers license, etc). The staff have given me misleading information about required documentation that has led to having to make multiple visits on several occasions. On top of that, they mailed our marriage certificate to the wrong address. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
These people have been helping me over 20 years. They are one of the most professional registries in Alberta. I use them for setting up corporations not just driving related transactions. If you ever have any issues just ask for the owner or Tammy. The run their business with the client in mind. A-Plus you have my Trust.
I have made this my go to place to register my vehicles. After experiencing the worst of the worst at other places, A-Plus was a warm welcome experience. For the last 3 years I have never had a single rude staff member, always willing to help and ensure I have or understand any options for my business and my vehicles.
I booked for a road test, using my own car. Everything was working on the car when I checked it the night before. However, when I showed up for the test, one brake light was not working. The examiner asked me twice if there is another car I can use (as if I own more than one). Because of this small detail, I lost my 142$ dollar exam attempt. No chance to rebook, no time given to replace a light bulb. I can’t even reschedule for a open spot later that same day. Zero customer service, no flexibility. I won’t be coming back.
Don't take your drivers here, go to Registry Express the staff and examiners are much friendlier (the girl at the desk who delt with me on the day of my drivers was very nice however the girl who registered my vehicle weeks before was not) and make it a much calmer experience. I found my examiner hard to understand and thought his directions weren't very clear and he also gave directions a little late which didn't help seen as I was already very nervous. I failed miserably here and passed a day later at Registry Express. My boyfriend also failed here twice, then passed at the other registry.
Wow! This registry is amazing! I came here trying to get my license and the ladies were so supportive and encouraging me since I was always nervous, saying I'll do great. Best service that I have experienced and the nice comments always made my day! Would recommend!!
I'm very impressed with the service I received. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.
Went in to take the grade 5 basic driving test. The online booking process was easy enough and the lady at the front desk was kind and helpful. I failed my first test, but my driving instructor was awesome anyways. He was patient and really tried his hardest to ease my nerves & educate me, especially after the exam during the debriefing period where he explains the points he took off. I’ve never had formal driving lessons, so I think being taught by an instructor in this way really helped me out. He did such a thourough job explaining what I could do to improve my driving that less than a week later (today), I took my test and passed with with minimal points off! Afterwards, the front desk people I dealt with to upgrade were very friendly and helpful. It was busy when we went but the staff dealt with everyone in a timely manner and I had my business sorted out in no time. Overall, my experience with A Plus registry was great. Your staff are awesome people!
Thank you so much. Very friendly and helpful clerks.
The prices here have gone through the roof, they are attempting to charge extras for anything that they can when you are getting documents affirmed. If you don’t want to be overcharged for services go elsewhere.
Thought this registry would have been different... Front end lady was great to deal with, however manager was not as great. Booked my class 6 road test at 2:00 pm, for 4:30 pm the same day. Got home at 2:30, turned my bike on, and it stopped running instantly. Called to ask if I can change my test to another day and the response was "sorry, can't do anything. Owner isn't here. You have to rent the scooter or else you have to pay again for the test because I can't do anything for you." So my options are $80 to rent a scooter or $150 to book my road test another day. Obvious choice was to rent the scooter and get my test done. Customer service from a management standpoint didn't exist. The rep I was dealing with should be promoted to a manager because she can relate to a customer and would have understood the situation better.
The white guy was pretty rude to everyone he spoke to. He definitely has a power issue. While I was getting my license switched over from this wonderful lady he was beside her and not helping a customer. I asked him if I could ask a quick question while she was helping me out. He looked at me like he was better than me and toke about 10 seconds to tell me he was doing something. Where it would if been faster just to answer my question. ???? You're in a customer service role boss! You ain't King of anything. So get off your high horse and stop talking down to the customers.
Was not a good experience. Stuff wasn’t helpful and kind. I left and went downtown where the I received great and polite service.
Okay, so I know that a 5-star rating for a registry is a shock to most of us, but let me just say, I had a great experience at this registry yesterday. After having had the worst customer service experience at Crowfoot, I came here hoping for the best but still keeping my expectations low (considering the average rating of this location). Even though the process for me getting my Washington State drivers license transferred to an Alberta one is rather time consuming, the employee who helped me through this (I don't know her name, but she was a sweet Asian lady) was patient, kind and kept me informed as she was working through the paperwork. I also dealt with a younger man (who just transferred to this location from Marda Loop, sorry, again I don't know his name) who helped me update my address on my Alberta Health Card. Again, friendly service with a smile. Honestly, if you had a bad experience with this registry, it's probably because you're butthurt about having to pay fines that you're responsible for. Get over it and show some kindness to these people. They're working to try and help you. :D
Nice place, clean store and I'm sure the staff is friendly, expect the lady who helped me. Had to renew my temporary lisence because they had forgot to add the Unit # I live at, probably my mistake, but the lady asked for ID.. I'm trying to get my ID.. SIN and insurance wasnt enough for proof of anything but a birth certificate was.. Ridiculous.
As slow as they come. Brutal wait times.
I went there in the morning around the time it was just opened. The service is good and the staff is nice. The process of the service is also quite fast. You need to take the number on the machine when you arrive and wait until your number was called or shown in the wall.
I completed my motorcycle road test here on the weekend and had a very good experience. I was extremely hesitant to book my road test here based on previous reviews, but since I passed the course at Calgary Safety Council the motorcycle rental was included with the first exam so I decided to take the chance. I was quite nervous at the start of the road test but the examiner was very easy to talk to, gave me a chance to me ask any questions I had, and even let me have a few minutes to myself to get familiar with the motorcycle before I was ready to hit the road. I passed and while my results were far from perfect, the examiner was very fair with his evaluation and took the time to explain why he deducted what he did and things I need to work on. If I had failed, I feel the examiner would have done it for a good reason and it would have been explained to me why to better prepare me for the next attempt (which I thankfully don't need). I certainly would not hesitate to recommend A-Plus for your road test.
Not received my renewed health card after 6 weeks, while needed it the other night at Foothills emergency unit. I was experiencing a very aweful health condition lacking of my health card and the clerk I phoned was not responsive to explain the reason that I have not received the card yet. They wanted me to go to their office to explore the issue, but I have to be at work everyday until late. The clerk checked my PR card, however he might have input a wrong address or so. I cannot judge the performance of this registry, whether or not this happened because of staff mistake or something related to the post office.
Limited Knowledge of services, The supervisor Didn't Know what a Commissioner for Oaths is, They told me I need a signature, while Vital Statics confirm me I don't need another other then mine, because I have a court Order, then they try to tell me my Court Order was Fake, because of the stamp, they just try to avoid to do they job , He didn't what to help me , Racist man!
Had a great experience. Randy was very helpful and nice to talk to. Walked right as there was no one a head of me. Got everything that I needed in a very short time.
These guys were crazy busy, and they understood that I was running behind and allowed me to pay my ticket on my cell phone at the counter and patiently allowed me to complete the process so that I wouldn't lose my spot in line. That goes a LONG way. Thanks Rina and Sarah!
Started going here in the last year or so after having bad experiences at the Crowfoot registry and have never been disappointed. Super friendly staff! They’re very accommodating and helpful. Was having some issues that crowfoot refused to give a solution to, and A-Plus got things sorted in less than half an hour.
Not sure why the reviews are so low. Just registered a car here this morning - was in and out in 10 minutes. Zero issues, very friendly and helpful service.
I find the staff at the front desks helpful but the examiner for my basic road test was so rude that I broke down after the test even though I passed. In all my years I am yet to meet someone who is so disrespectful and condescending. I appreciated his feedback on my test and thank(ed) him for wanting me to be a better and safe driver. I also admit I made mistakes for which I lost marks, but no one deserves to be spoken to so distastefully.
I went to this registry a month ago and paid $30 for a replacement drivers license. It never came in the mail because the wrong address was entered. It’s not clear whether this was the registry’s fault or my own, and we didn’t have access to the original document to tell. The only way to get me a new license was to purchase a new one, which I was obviously NOT happy to do. However, the agent I worked with (didn’t grab her name! Working on October 28th PM) was really understanding and being a student herself as well, understood how I did not want to pay for the license again. She talked to the manager for me and was able to get the registry’s fee waived. Despite unfortunately still having to pay the government fee, it did make me feel better to have the registry fee waived. I really appreciated that agent that I worked with and felt that she listened to me.
The experience strongly depends on who is at the counter. I was there a while ago asking for a friend if they issued marriage licenses. There was a lady looking in her 40s at the counter talking with a coworker and so I went up to them and patiently waited for them to end their conversation until they both turned to look at me. I told her I just had a quick question to ask and she looked down at me and scolded me! She said, "Hey! Don't interrupt us! Can't you see we're having a conversation here? Take a ticket!" at that moment I felt so humiliated as if she was my grade school teacher scolding at me in front of everyone. I have had some other friends who've also had an encounter with her and sometimes she would just ignore them completely! This lady needs to go back into training for some proper customer service! I wasn't asking her to treat me like a God but at least be respectful to your customers and don't humiliate them! Just to be clear this is in fact the A-plus registry in the corner of the strip mall across from Churchill Highschool.
Very fast service. Uses a number queue system. What I am disappointed about is the 3.5% charge if you use a credit card. Not sure if Moneris, or the big Merchant companies allow that. Must use a different merchant provider.
Had gone for my class 5 driving test at A-Plus today, 2nd time in a row, and successfully passed it. GORD ( hope I have the name right) the examiner was quite warm and to the point, he explained me everything before the road test could start and after the road test explained to me the minor mistakes I did during the test. Overall it was a pleasant experience the staff at the Registry were also customer oriented. Please note that since there is a school in the vicinity of the Registry to maintain the speed limits which often learners forget. I would highly recommend this Registry.
This is the most painless registry I’ve ever been to they are really good
Got passed my Class 5 basic today. Thanks for the examiner for his patience. His really doing a great job. And for Krissy for being accomodating.
Awesome registry! I took my class 6 road test here the other day and passed on the first try. The examiner gives you clear instructions and will clarify if you don't hear properly. Anyone who rates this place negatively may likely just be upset they didn't pass. The examiner marked me for legitimate reasons, and took time after to explain what I did wrong and how to improve in the future. But he was very kind and patient. Overall a great experience and I would come here again!
I just passed my road test!! After failing 5 times in Crowfoot from a bitchy lady and 2 more times in Airdrie with a strict but nicer guy, I finally managed to pass here with only a 30 on my test. The examiner was the absolute nicest, sweetest guy ever and made all my nerves go away. He was extremely understanding and didn't fail me for things that weren't my fault (Signs hidden behind trees, people cutting me off). The people working in the office were extremely nice and kind as well, and I've recommended my friends to come HERE FOR YOUR ROAD TEST.
I would give zero if google let me, I went to this registry to do advanced road test. It was a horrible experience. Nobody has ever talked to me in the way that Krista (the examiner) did, so rude. She was condescending, she insulted me verbally some times, I asked her something and she said “ I can’t understand you when you are mumbling “. Also, she didn’t let me talk at the end of the exam while she was talking nonstop for more than 5 minutes. Long story short, if you wanna get your license, don’t take exam with her (Krista). Hope to not see her again in my life. Don’t waste your time and money in this registry. Ps: Mr/Mrs owner, please instead of justifying behaviour of your staff and the ones who is working there, try to give real solutions. Again, the worst experience of my life ever.
In my opinion the bad ratings are definitely not because people are failing their tests it is because the owner of this location puts up with driving testers that don't know how to deal with people. Both the owner and some of the testers only think of themselves, and feel that their own time is more valuable then the customers. I have called multiple times to talk to the owner of the location (Zohar) about my experience and my calls were not returned. We did not take a drivers test at this location but experienced the attitude many others have talked about here. We went to the registry by the Hamptons in the NW instead and had a great experience.
The service was excellent. The ladies I met there were very friendly and helpful.
Worst costumers service I ever seen they deserve zero star
I just finished getting my drivers license basic GDL here and from beginning to end it was great! All of the staff were so friendly, clear and welcoming. The staff allowed me ten minutes in the vehicle that I rented to be familiar with all of the features which was so great of them to do. The examiner was extremely friendly! He was direct and understanding. I felt so comfortable and confident in the car with him. Thanks for the great experience!!
Nobody should ever visit this registry for any business matters, they don't even update your company info to CRA and they will scam you 20 dollars every time you try to look up the business number from their website (nothing shows up for many attemps)
I have been dealing with this Registry since the day they opened. The owner a an excellent businessman. He has come in at 5 a.m. in order to setup a corporation for me. I use them for everything., If you ever have an issue just ask for the owner. I only wish I would have purchased a Registry when they were selling them! 5 Stars Plus 100 more.
Given both my learner test and the road test. The staff is really nice and wonderful. The driving route and examiners are really good. Would recommend to anyone for basic driver test. 100% recommended.
Staff is so friendly. Amazing people. Randi was so helpful and extremely knowledgable. Keep it up. Examiners are friendly and welcoming
Went here to update my address on driver's license and car registry. Super short wait, lady attending me was sweet and efficient. Plenty of parking around the area too. They definitely don't deserve these low reviews, it's probably very skewed on the driver's test side. If you fail these test, it's not the registry's fault lol.
I have never seen such a poorly run registry. Lines forever that do not move. Go somewhere else and save yourself a bunch of time.
Terrible customer service, they are rude. Nobody goes out to change the category of their license with the first test, they made it a great business. We will spend a little more time for a place with better attention.
I was a little hesitant to go into this registry due to all the bad reviews. But, it was the closest one to my house so i decided to give them a chance. My mom was recently in an accident and we got the handicap placard for our vehicle filled form out by our doctor and emailed to us. We did not get the original due to COVID and not wanting to go into the clinic. The registry did not allow a form that was not the original. They needed us go through the hassle of calling our clinic to forward the form to them. On top of that, they insisted that my "disabled" mom had to still come in to sign the form as well. I don't understand how they expect my disabled mom to come in, also during COVID and there was no other way around this and i could not pick it up on her behalf. Frustrated, i decided to try another registry. They were very accommodating and said i needed to fill out an "Authorization for Vehicles Form" for me to pick up the placard on her behalf and that was that. I don't understand why A-Plus did not tell me about this form at all? A few recommendations for this registry is to please be more flexible for customers especially during COVID. It's not everyday that people can take time off work to run errands. It was a waste of time for me waiting in line, and you lose business from customers.
Best registry in Calgary, particularly, agent Krissy is really helpful.
I had great experiences at A+. I have been there four times now in the last two years for various services. Contrary to the reviews I read online I had a very pleasant service. They were very professional. Everyone I interacted with was ready to go the extra mile to help. I have never found the slightest fault at all while dealing with them. I almost didn't go there for my driving test because of the reviews I read online, but I chose them because every other available option for the day I wanted were way too far from my house. I will recommend them anytime.
QUITE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Forget A-Plus registry for road test. They are quite unfair. I am 63 Years old and have considerable experience of driving Motorcycle in 5 countries within last 40 Years without a single ticket or crash so Far. I passed successfully the training course here in Calgary and paid $ 450 to ensure that I am aware of motorcycle rules in Canada. I had 2 times road test for class 6 in A-plus Registry NW Calgary. One lady is the only examiner in A-Plus registry and in spite of following all the rules and dos and don'ts ,she will always find an excuse to make you fail . I believe that 95% of class 6 road tests will be failed by her and those 5% may be after so many trials and each time paying $ 150 for next test. I am sure it is not the case in most registries and I strongly recommend everyone not to go to A-plus registry for Class 6 road test. She made me failed yesterday with -125 points and I passed in another registry today with -25 points. How come this could happen within 2 days?????? I also had 2 time knowledge tests in A-plus registry and passed both times but it was terrible experience the way they treated me as a customer.
Absolutely horrendous. The examiner was the epitome of a dickhead. He was rude, snotty, indirect, and to be quite honest disrespectful, considering he is the examiner of 16 year olds road test there is no need for a "kiss my ass" behaviour. Here are some fantastic examples... 1. We arrive at the Registry and the clerk at the front we spoke to couldn't even give him a good review, she stopped herself from saying he's a nice guy. And made a point to focus on the fact that there are other components making a good day for a road test, avoiding the topic of the examiner. 2. He then proceeded to give us a cold shoulder welcome, not even introducing himself... He simply asked for a signature rudely and without guidance left, leaving me to assume the rest. 3. For the entirety of the road test he was silent, awkward, might I add mention RUDE!!! He responded with a horrible attitude whenever a slight mistake was made. 4. BUT THE WORST OF ALL... he failed me for the most juvenile reasons. a) He accused me of not signalling at a turn when I know 100% I signalled, I know for a fact I signalled....I don't remember the last time I didn't signal... considering the fact for being 16 and driving for two years regularly I would not forget to do such a thing. b) Same with my uncontrolled intersections that he said I didn't look both ways and observe this mistake was APPARENTLY made 4 times... I don't know why a person in general would ever yield at a uncontrolled intersection and not look? So I in fact looked, observed and proceeded. Considering I apparently did this 4 times is outrageous. But then again his word against mine. c) Lastly, he held information from me that was very critical to my decisions throughout test. For instance, I asked if I have 3 tries on my parallel parking, he said I do. Yet he forgot to mention every attempt is 10 points deducted? Hmph you would think that would be kind of important?? thanks moron. 4. When the test concluded he did not directly say "you failed" he pointed out my mistakes and barely explained them, and exited the vehicle. WTF In conclusion, this place sucks BLEEP, the guy was a moron with a horrible attitude, and zero respect for any aspect of the experience. Don't come here unless you want to fail & experience a new level of anger. - Sincerely, a good driver.
Stay away from this place! They do not know what they are doing. We were charged more than anywhere else in the city. They filled the forms incorrectly . Why ? Well the person who was filling it did not gave us all pages to check. When we called to ask about the amending/ correcting their mistakes, we were told that the fee will be 25$. Same day we went to correct it and we were charged double! Not to be trusted
Driving examiner (I don't remember his full name as it is quite long and starts with an A but he was wearing an orange turban) was very unprofessional, during my exam he went through all the compartments in my car and rummaged through my things. He also reclined his seat fully back for the duration of my exam. Finally, he marked my exam according to his own rules, which were different from the official provincial road guidelines. I have filed an appeal and hope that this examiner will be reprimanded.
Recently, I was selling my car. I first went to the registry to inquire about Carfax, and discovered my drivers license was due to expire. Chrissy was very helpful in clearly explaining my options, was quick to serve me and meet my needs. She was friendly and charming. I went back in two days later and was fortunate enough to get Chrissy again. I did not have the right documents so went home to get the right ones. When I came back in she quickly sought me out so that I did not have to wait in line again, and did it in such a way as to show the others waiting in line that I had been there earlier (they'd only made it through nine more numbers while I was gone). Again, she was very helpful, especially given that she was able to ID me as I had a temporary license. I count myself lucky to have had her serve me both times. She is an excellent ambassador for her company. I have had two other positive experiences with staff at this registry when I was trying to assist 91 year old seniors with ID. I highly recommend using A Plus!
I don't recommend this registry at all, the staff is not pleasant and practice trolling. the Asian lady (#2128) in particular ask me whether I could pay Visa or debit I told her if she could wait a moment I would have to transfer money over to my debit card, immediately she proceeded to wave me aside because she could not wait and there was too many customers. If that is the case why would you suggest options for payment and second... that is the first time I've ever heard of these people trying to manage their time accordingly. terrible people.
I have had a very frustrating experience with them in booking class 5 road test. The first one when the clerk booked the test for me on January 18th on paper, however she told me verbally that my exam would be in January 25th! I know it's my responsibility to read the printed paper however I feel mislead by telling me a different date from the written one, and NOT RECEIVING ANY EMAILS FOR MY TEST DATE! Finally I went there after my test date was due and I was told that I cannot get any refund and I have to reschedule. Then comes me second frustrating experience today when I went to take my road test again, checked the date and got a registered car with insurance, they told me that I have to get the original registration of the vehicle and I had a copy, they checked me in then refused to let me take the exam for this reason, needless to say that they refused to make any refund or reschedule or even to give me time (30 minutes) to go and bring the original registration!! I have lost two exam attempts and 280 dollars with them, they are not flexible at all. DO NOT BOOK YOUR ROAD TEST WITH THIS REGISTRY!
There is an examiner I believe named Brenda, she is super polite and welcoming. I am generally a nervous person and I felt very at ease with the way she spoke to me and just the whole situation. I believe this is really important because its already nerve wracking situation taking the road exam as you know the person is just waiting to ding you for any mistake. If the owner is reading these.. please pass along my praise that she has very welcoming personality and easy to talk to unlike the other examiner but its whatever :) I Did my class 6 road test here "twice" unfortunately but different examiners. For future road testers, if you get the old guy...lets say it won't be a warm welcoming.
TERRIBLE SERVICE. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Please do not go to this registry, go give your money to any other registry. Terrible customer service, the staff member and the owner were so rude and condescending and both of them gave me the same incorrect information. I called around to 4 other registries because I questioned what they said to me. Sure enough...I was right and every other registry said A-Plus gave me wrong information. It is way to long to type out what happened and personal why I was there but it has now negatively affected my driver's abstract. I complained to the owner and he couldn't even comprehend what I was saying or didn't care and was so rude on the phone. He disregarded everything I said and kept arguing back with wrong information again, it was like I was talking in circles. Worst customer service experience I've ever had with a business, especially with an owner. He basically said it was my word against theirs and wasn't willing to do ANYTHING to fix it. No wonder they have a 2.4 star rating on google. Now I have to try resolving it with Service Alberta. If anyone comments back on this review from A-Plus saying otherwise, you lie and the damage is done so don't even bother.
The two counter service clerks that helped me were very friendly. I had my road test here with Ken, who was fair and knowledgable. I tend to get test anxiety but he really helped me ease my nerves. In comparison to other registries I have been to in the NW, this is the registry I would choose to return to. I hope the staff has a wonderful day.
The ladies at the counters were very rude and don’t hesitate to shout at people coming in. The examiner was very kind though and explained everything step by step. Save your time and energy and go somewhere else to avoid getting shouted at.
Never come there, they are scammers!
Good quick service... Been here several times with no reason to complain
Although their owner always say they treat customers with respect, but for my experience in this registry, they are very rude and unfriendly, your score is only 2.4 on Google, how can you say your service is not bad. That rude lady must be fired.
My daughter took a road test here yesterday. The result was a failure. I'm sure her driving was the cause. I am not dissatisfied with the result, I am dissatisfied with the attitude of the instructor during the test. My daughter is still a child at the age of 16. The first road test and the first time for her to drive with another person. Although it wasn't normal, the instructor repeatedly yelled "Oh my god" from the beginning to the end and kept putting pressure on her to an excessive extent. I don't think she will be able to drive at her best in such a situation. I think it's good to be careful not to get nervous. I can't understand why and how much pressure was applied. Will she drive in such tension in the future? I'm not there yet. What does he think of himself? Do you think you have the right to put such pressure and make herfeel uncomfortable? Finally he even unplugged the power cable of the drive recorder on my car. Is there anything to do with the test? What was he going to do if he breaks the cable without hesitation? I think he turned off the power because he thought the voices would be recorded. All of his actions said that put too much strain on her. I will never take a test here again and I will never recommend here to anybody.
I don’t recommend this place at all : a drivers abstract government fee is 15 dollars and they do charge ... 32 dollars , in other places you can pay 22 to 24 dollars . I call this a rip off .
I expected more helpful services. Instead, I failed in basic driving test after 5 years of driving in Europe and US and Canada. The following day I succeeded with another registry. This is apart from other service which was refused. The discussion and explanation was over two counters and all the people in the registry noticed my case. This is unacceptable.
I have been to this place a few times, in my opinion they are okay. I personally never had any issues with them. That being said, I do recall going in with a friend, and he was missing his own signature somewhere, they noticed it and asked him about that. So he said, it is okay, I'll just sign it right now and they gave him a lot of grief about that. But eventually they did get everything done. Bottom line, you may want to get all your ducks in a row if you are coming to this place.
I am not satisfied with the service in Aplus at all. Regardless of extra waiting time (not enough staff for clients) the manager of this registry insists on a wrong decision without carefully listening to the client's needs
I am a newcomer. In this house I found: Wonderful staff and very kind. Karissa is a very professional and kind person. She made me feel worthy. Thanks A-plus, you deserve the highest rating. House of worship! Sincerely,
When the driving test examiner do all her efforts to make you fail, then be sure you will fail. That's what happened now with me during my class 4 test. The examiner said you didn't take care of the uncontrolled intersections. I told her they're back alleys not intersections but she refused what I said and then I failed. The worst place ever.
Very friendly customer service. Also appreciate the office's effort in sanitizing the place during this pandemic.
krissy the best employer she deal nicly with us, and i recomend every one to deal with here
Very quick service and friendly staff. If you're documents are not complete please complete them first before going to this registry (or to any registry) as the staff here are really keen and follow the rules which I think is just right and just.
Bad reviews for this place are warranted. The employee was annoyed that I asked her to do her job (young white woman). They did register my car, so two stars. Just avoid this one. Please teach employees what a customer service is.
This is a secret gem! The times I have been there it is never busy, it is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I appreciate the "take a number" system so I don't have to stand in line as well.
On several occasions I have tried to have paper work processed at this location. The staff is unhelpful, rude, and combative. I certainly question their credibility and knowledge on even the most basic subjects. Wait times are long, the process is disorganized, and you really cannot be sure you will get the right information. I suspect they would also lose my applications after the fact as they demonstrate very careless handling after taking your documents. Use your time wisely and go to the Registry Express in North Hill Mall, a much better experience!
The driving instructor will fail you regardless of your driving performance. I have been driving for 7 years with a clean driving record and wanted to upgrade my licence to a class 5. The instructor informed me to not deviate from my driving path unless "told otherwise to do so". During the test I was asked to turn right onto another road, and eventually the same lane I turned into led to a different road. The instructor informed me after that I "was supposed to move over a lane and remain on the previous road", an instruction he did not tell me. Following this I returned to the road and was able to demonstrate the ability to move over a lane without issue. However, the instructor deemed my misinterpretation of his instruction as "failure to observe signage" and failed me. This situation occurred twice in total and was enough for him to fail me. I asked him if "my misinterpretation of his instructions was a fair and proper assessment of my ability to drive" and he replied "everything is considered in the test". To summarize, if you don't read his mind prior to making a decision you will fail the test.
DISCRIMINATION AGAINST PARENTS. Today, I was refused service because I had my children with me. They advised that my preschool children, despite their symptomless state, would have to be left (illegally) in the car or (very unsafely) outside the store beside the well used parking lot in the rain (4 degrees). The manager argued that my symptomless children could carry the virus to employees if they remained in their large and completely empty space. When I expressed concern for my children, I was advised that I should just get someone to care for them. This was ignorant as, in covid conditions, outside childcare is not possible. Despite raising this valid point, and suggesting that my symptomless kids could wait on the other side of the room, the registry still denied me government mandated service. Registry services, including vehicle registration, are required by the government. Online services are not always possible (they weren't for me - I tried). There are hundreds, if not thousands, of parents without childcare in Calgary right now who may be forced to bring their children with them to places to get necessary things done. Research suggests that children are no more (if not less) likely than adults to spread the disease without symptoms. A-Plus Registry Services gets an F today for discriminating against parents on the basis of such a ridiculous argument. This is an example of healthcare hysteria and very poor management (as well as extremely unsafe suggestions for my children). This has a happy ending. I went to another (busy) registry on 16th NW (Registry Express), who were happy to help me. They made no comment about my children, assisting me with a smile behind their mask. They just practiced safe distancing for the line up and screens for employees. Interestingly enough, I see that they have a higher rating. They are a registry that this registry can learn from.
Great staff she went out of her way to make sure all the information on my ID was correct.
Long wait time. I grabbed my ticket at 4.50pm on Wednesday I was not helped until 5.45pm. The wait time was 55 mins not 5 mins as your response to me. I got back in my car at 5.50pm
Place has gone downhill. The manager sets the tone of condescending attitude towards clients. Have given this place many chances cause everyone has a bad day ..... but NO GOOD SERVICE here.
Really don't recommend this place. The staff is rude and completely unaware of the actual facts, and they really don't do anything to try and actually help and explain things. They completely wasted my time, I will never go back.
Earlier today I had an absolutely horrible experience at this registry. I went in with my two teenage sons to change our address on their drivers licenses. An elderly lady, who I think may have been the manager, treated us with hostility the moment she saw us. We entered, took our number, and proceeded to stand together in the box marked "stand here". She entered the room and looked frustrated immediately and said "why are you all here". I explained we were there to change their licenses. She was irritated and then told us to separate. I told her we lived together and she said it didn't matter as they needed to look like they are maintaining social distancing. I was upset by the experience. This lady was rude and hostile and had no reason to be this way. We did nothing wrong. The lady who helped us at the stall was very nice. I am just wondering why this manager felt she had the right to be so unkind. Things are hard enough in the world right now. If she is the manager, I think the registry can do much better and should be ashamed.
I will not give this registry my business even though I work 2 minutes from the location. It took five staff twenty minutes to help one customer while the rest of us sat there waiting.
I visited this location on Tuesday, March 5th. I had lost some paperwork for my business during a move and needed a reprint. I wasn't sure of the name of the paperwork and so I relied on the knowledge of the staff here. I was being assisted by someone new, who was perfectly nice. She wasn't sure, so she asked someone more senior, by the name of Linda (or similar sounding name). Linda was incredibly rude and a generally nasty individual. While she ended up resolving my issue and providing the desired paperwork, it wasn't without going out of her way to make me feel stupid. I understand working at a registry can be a trying and stressful job, but please treat people with respect and dignity.
Had a very pleasant experience yesterday. My issue was a bit more complicated, so took about an hour to get everything resolved, but the employees were extremely helpful and patient. I was a bit worried at first going in, since I had just moved from Manitoba and this was my first time at an AB registry, but thankfully the employees there took their time to explain from A to Z how I can go about exchanging my MB license, getting my foreign driving experience recognized by applying for a GDL exemption and guiding me through the process of getting my car registered and insured in AB. Throughout the hour I was there, I never saw any clients that were frustrated or complaining. I was also pleasantly surprised of how sanitary everything was and setup in a way to abide by COVID-19 risk mitigation guidelines.
This place needs to get their stories straight - one employee said my son had all the documents needed to write his learners, and then another employee said that they needed more than what he had. I called afterwards to check what was needed and got a whole different answer. I said that we were going by what was in the website and the employee on the phone said that what they put on the website, and what they tell us on the phone, can be different than what they require, when you come into the Registries office. There is just so much discrepancy between one employee and another, as to what is required. Went to Crowfoot Registries and had no problem.
Always friendly, always efficient, and as we discovered again recently, much more knowledgeable than some other unnamed registries (near a Co-op in Crowfoot)....
Was just on phone with them with questions. Very helpful and polite
I went to this registry to issue a marriage certificate but an agent said there was a discrepancy between our application and the system. I requested her to double check and she refused to do it which is very unprofessional. I paid for an investigation for 47 dollars. However my wife went to another registry and applied for one with exactly the same application without any problem. So we came back and requested for a refund but she didn't listen to us and only said what she wanted. We felt so wronged by her. I recommend NOT TO GO there.
I gave my class 5 gdl. The 40 year white lady took my test. my driving was good because of having previous driving experience. She cut my points in parallel parking even though it was perfect distance from the curb. plus she cut my points for waiting for a pedesterian to cross on a right turn on red signal. And she cut my maxing points for turning left on a signals for being just little ahead while yielding. She cut my points for just moving a little right due to a narrow road with a bus approaching. It was like she wanted to fail me even though i drove correctly. Next time if your test is with her, you should assume, you are gonna fail.
If I could give zero stars, I would. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! My son just had his road test and I should have read the reviews first. My son failed due to UNCONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS just like so many people said. My son is a very good driver and very careful and I never doubt he would fail, but this examiner failed my son with that reason. This registry is no different than a money scam. I am going to tell all of my friends who have children who need to take their driving test soon not to go there, and it will start with me. I was going to take my 2nd son to this place for the basic class 5 test, but there is no way I am going back to this place. Please be aware and never go to this place for your driving test, especially advanced class 5. There is no doubt you will fail due to UNCONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS.
I don't see many motorcycle road test reviews on here so I figured I should chime in. I took the road test twice with A-Plus Registry via the Calgary Safety Council course tie-in. For starters, customer service when booking was perfectly fine. I was obviously disappointed that I failed the first time around, but I was failed for legitimate reasons. The instructor provided good feedback and a sheet with diagrams of some of the things on which I needed to improve. An opportunity was provided for questions both before and after the exam. I had no issues with equipment and received quality instruction throughout the exam. My second test was again a good experience. Before the exam I was provided an opportunity for questions, and I was given a good explanation of the beginning of the route and the road test. Although I had an issue with the headset during the exam, the instructor was patient and we continued on with the exam after pulling over briefly. After the exam, even with the pass I was given quality feedback on some of the things I needed to improve upon.
I would have given 0 stars if I could!!!! The business has no sense of punctuality or appreciation for people’s time! This registry opens whenever it wants to ! I was there last Saturday, February 10, 2018. Google said they were suppose to be open at 10:00 am till 4:00 pm. I was sitting in my car from 9:45 am until 10:25 am no one showed up so I left! Do not recommend! Thank you! Ashley
Had a great experience today! The staff were kind and efficient. Definitely my go to registry!
DO NOT BOOK these guys for your road test. We have had 2 different experiences with our 2 kids and we thought that the second time with a different examiner would be better, IT WAS WORSE! The road conditions were horrible because of fresh snow and ice build up. Our son, who was told at the end of his exam was a good driver but failed because he drove 5 under the posted speed limit on side streets that were covered in snow, and because he was told to turn right at a red light when other vehicles were approaching and he did not feel comfortable because of the slick conditions. It is a money grab as you will need to pay $80.00 every time you book and cannot get your money back once you have booked. I cannot emphasize enough that you should not use these guys for your road test, other companies have independent examiners, USE THEM! In house examiners have an agenda to get you back in so they can make money! Such a shame for the morale of our youth who are trying to gain some independence and are given such a crap break on the test. We will NEVER be back, Calgary Registry Services Ltd will see our business!
Took my road test with this lady named Brenda and it was not a good experience. Was very rude when she commented on my driving during the test and as she was explaining my results after. When I explained to her that another instructor told me that I had to slow down at the uncontrolled intersection and observe, I did that during the test and she was very condescending and said “you don’t have to slow down THAT much” and laughed. I hope you don’t have the same bad experience and you don't get her as an examiner.
Took the advanced road test here. A female examiner age around 40, a very tricky examiner. Was asked to make a right turn facing the red light. I stopped completely behind the pedestrian lane and then waited for a proper timing - there was a car on my left, so I could not see the coming traffic. The examiner then asked me to move my car onto the pedestrian lane and said I obstructed the traffic by waiting behind the pedestrian lane. When returned to the test center, the examiner asked me to make a left turn into the plazza by crossing a solid yellow line. I admit I am not a perfect driver, but for your information, be prepared: the examiner would look for a big truck for the paralleled parking; most of the exam may be spent in Bowness area.
Wish I could give ZERO star. Won't understand person's problem. Rude staff. They only want themselves to be heard. I don't think they should be picking up the phone in the first place if they "have to go" as soon as they start talking. I would rather mail my documents myself to the responsible office than going to these rude middle men. Disappointed.
Friendly people + Good service =A-PLUS !!!????????????
After reading so many negative reviews I felt the need to write my opinion about this office. I've been using this registry for the past few months. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I also went for a Basic driving test today. The examiner was amazing; he always reminded me to breathe and smile and all my stress went right away. Although I failed (because of my own mistakes, of course) I will definitely retake the test at this registry.
I have never written a review in my life but I think this place deserves a terrible review for the unfair, racist, and rude driving Instructor. My husband had a basic road test scheduled and the day of the test there was a very bad snow storm and the roads were VERY bad. My husband is a new driver but a GOOD driver but had little experience with winter driving. I called to ask if they were still doing tests and the lady on the phone (who was polite... I will give them that) told me they were still doing tests and I would have to pay $40.00 to re-schedule. BUT she assured me that the instructor would be fair, my husband could ask any questions if he was unsure of winter driving, and he was allowed to drive slower ACCORDING TO THE CONDITIONS. So thinking that the instructor would be an understanding person we went ahead with the test. We went early to practice and my husband did great with the winter driving. He knew how to handle the conditions. So when he started his test, he just confirmed with the instructor that he could go below the speed limit if it was icy and dangerous and right away the instructor was VERY rude and basically told him that this is Canada, this is an exam, and if he was uncomfortable he should go re-schedule the test. Then he took my husband to a flat road and told him to do a "hill park". When my husband asked if it was uphill or downhill (it was flat) he was rude again and just said "HILL PARK". So my husband guessed and guessed wrong and was failed. He also got marks off for driving slow on an icy road... His other driving was perfect. But that's not all... he went again (which we should not have gone to the same place) and his driving was perfect again except he was failed again because he followed the directions of a previous driving instructor. Never go here unless you want to fail your test and be ripped off, insulted, and put down.
Please improve your online services. It stinks. I tried to order a vin lookup and assumed the process is easy. Nope. You would think you would get a link instant cuz it's online. Nope. Still waiting for it. Smh. Avoid online. Not sure about in person.
Worst Registry ever, staff (especially the senior male) is extremely rude, arrogant and un-helpful. They are actually worst then the there 2.5 rating !
Went to take my advanced class 5, the examiner had no regard for time, he was 20min late! The examiner also had unrealistic expectations on driving!! Apparently driving 45 in a 50 zone is too slow for him, and he expect you to drive exactly 50... He docks you points for not stopping on the line at Red lights, cause behind the line is too far. Don't come for driving tests, the old man will just fail you. This place scams your money and the examer goes by his own books. Do not go here!!!
The people who work here are very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a sign saying they are understaffed and to expect long wait times but even with being understaffed they helped everyone quite quickly. I had a driving test scheduled and the guy grading me is very nice and made a nerve racking experience a bit more calm. Overall great service.
Madam Krissy is the one who assisted us when we initially put up a business. She was so friendly and nice. We really appreciated her patience in walking us through with the documents that we needed to signed and processed. I owe a lot to this A plus branch. Amazing guys. I will never switch. GB
Worst registry ever Response from the owner: Please elaborate Further explanation: I came to Alberta in August 2013. From that point until March 2020, I've lived in places where A+ Registry has always been the closest registry office to both my work and my residence. As is common practice, I've done almost all of my dealings with the Government of Alberta in the A+ Registry Office. Most of the time, there are 4 ladies present and there are always more than enough free counters available. Among the 4 ladies, 2 are doing their job well, as one would expect. The other two ladies take more frequent breaks. It's been the norm there and I've been okay with that. I finally decided to post a one-star review on Google as the "worst registry ever" when I ran into unnecessary trouble resulting from the pandemic crackdown. I came and left a few times due to their google map business hours not having been updated, and waited for a long time to come in due to the pandemic’s reduced business hours. Again one associate was still taking their break. Along with my past experiences in other registry offices, including North Hill Centre, Chestermere, Vulcan, Lethbridge, Drumheller, and Shawnessy, I have seen enough hard working registry associates to be assured that A+ Registry is the worst registry office I've ever dealt with in Alberta.
Sadly stiff service here. Staff's English was poor. I don't know which document they're following, but I am pretty sure they don't understand the policy well. Technically, if ur a full-time student in AB province, that's mean you're and you need to be a resident in AB province. I had a lot of proof shown I am a resident in AB but they just said it wasn't valid, even my bank information and enrollment letter. Afterwards I headed to Lions Park registry and I just gave them my enrollment. 5min later I got my health plan number. If I would know, I'll never waste time in this horrible place. I don't blame the staff there, cause I know they need to follow their supervisor. The supervisor there was truely nightmare. She only know yells to people and never use brain to really think through. If any international student wanna have driver licence or health plan, I will suggest your guys to go to the Lions Park. More choices, more flexible and better service.
Called for information in regards to transferring registration and was given the wrong info, waited for 30 minutes to get help and was told I I had the wrong papers and that no one there would tell me that info. Which is now forcing me to go in again tomorrow, needless to say I will be going to a different registry tomorrow.
Daljeet delivered the 5A test I was taking. He was so kind and patient! I was sick with nerves (having previously failed at the hands of a very cross and impatient examiner) and he would very calmly remind me to breath and smile. And it worked! What a blessing to have him as the examiner!
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I know others are getting upset because they want to bend the rules to their advantage. Always remember that RULES are RULES and these staff members are just following them. My son did his learner's test here and the clerks were very patient and helpful.
In stead of asking "how can I help you ?", and trying to get my car registered, the lady questioned me until she found something why it, in her view, could not be done. I left and went to another registry, which filed the registration without any issues
I took my Class 5 Advanced Road test here. The staff are very friendly which makes the experience a little less nerve-wracking. The instructor, also the manager of the registry was friendly enough and calm during the test. I definitely expected to fail the exam, based on reviews I've heard from others, however, if you just practice and perform good driving skills (as you always should) then you really will be fine. After the exam, the instructor told me where I had lost points and explained what I did wrong and gave me examples. Prior to driving, I was asked if I had any questions before we start the test. I had read in the driving manual, and heard from several others that its best to ask beforehand about school zones in the area (i.e., if its a school break and the limit does not apply, or if the hours are different). So I did, but the instructor must have not understood where I was coming from and answered me in sort of a condescending way, as if I should know the answer, given that I'm taking the advanced test. This didn't make me feel very great for the exam. However, I tried not to let it affect me through the whole test and drove as I would normally, and still passed. I don't think it matters where you take the Class 5A test. As an advanced driver, you should be able to drive safely anywhere! I would recommend this registry to people. The service is better than a registry closer to my house.
I was greeted by a group of friendly and smiling people who work there. They are fast, professional, and proficient. It only took them 5 minutes to finish my vehicle registration. The girl was so kind she put all the decals on the plate without me asking. Keep up the good work guys!!
The slowest registry office ever in Calgary. Do not prefer!
Edit: I went to registry express in north hill mall, with same identification and had an excellent experience. D minus registry! I had a valid passport and an old I. D. That I needed to renew the brunette girl refused service even tho I had proof of who I am. I will never waste my time at your store again. The reviews speak for their self. My fault for not reading them first.
Class 5 basic learners test:Very kind and friendly front desk. Zohar took me on the drive and was very pleasant. I recommend this place for any driver looking for their licence.
I definitely do not recommend. While one of the employees does the operation, the other does not. It is not clear which rule they follow. things are always half done.
I had the worst experience at this place. I am 8 months pregnant and I have a 16 months old toddler. I was not allowed to get in and renew my drivers licence, I was told that Alberta Health Services doesn’t allow them to have children inside BUT I can come the next day in the morning and they would let me in ( so I’m kind of allowed but only when they want to). It was pretty hard for me to get there in the first place . I went to another registry and they renewed my license and I could bring my toddler with me without any problem. A plus registry said it’s for my own protection that I don’t go in ,but I haven’t seen anyone there wearing a mask or gloves sooo I don’t know what protection they’re talking about.
Horrible customer service, very impatient! They just turn their nose away if you dare to ask one more question!
The best Registry experience of any Registry. Service was fast and my teller, cash #7, was helpful and informative. Saved me some money as well. This is my go to registry for now on. Thank you A-Plus
I want to thank Ms. Krissy because of her kind help and advice
Clean place and staffs are friendly. but don’t waste money on the road test here especially for the first time. You are supposed to answer no if the examiner asks if this is the first time you take the road test, otherwise she’ll probably intend to fail you for some “imperfections” that a new driver may have. Krista is super critical and she can regard Class 5 basic as a super advanced Class 5 test. I know examiners are government officials and it’s not the fault of the registry. Hope this helps those who would like to take driving test here.
I went to this location to handle registration of a vehicle (Basic service one would think), after waiting for 30 min at the desk while the staff member stumbled around her computer, she told me I could not complete it and had to call alberta transportation. I called alberta transportation as soon as I left, who said "I am not sure what the registry or agent is doing", they advised me to go to a different location where I was out in 5 min. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, this place will waste your time, treat you like garbage, and lie to you instead of just admitting they are under trained/don't know how to handle basic issues.
Very friendly, helpful, always smiley staffs ???? I’ve been in this registry many times, and it’s always fast transaction, awesome service!
Had my driving test here, I had a very good experience. The examiner I had was Amon, he was straight forward, fair and just. He explained everything to me and made sure I was comfortable and ready to go before we drove. He made me really comfortable and confident all through the test. Of course I made some mistakes, which he brought my attention to as well. l have had two failed driving test before. Never for once did my last examiner explain anything to me, he just wanted me to to get going. I would recommend this place to anyone, any time. And plus the customer service was amazing as well.
Best Road test examiner. Class 5 advance test. I was very nervous in start due to previous experiences. He was very helpful in my emotion control to focus on road. In start he said take deep breath deep breath deep breath and give me in direction instruction way advance. Each parking he said smile, which really boost my moral to clam myself. But please make sure do lots of lots practice, know speed limits in major road, some times you don’t know limit after 1Km, it help you to drive smoothly, there is school next be patient for Youth, very difficult for sure. Master in following, yellow line vs no yellow line speeds they are not marked, 3 way ( even some one don’t want move wave hand - Right of way), 4 way (full stop), red traffic turn right (full stop check traffic move slowly, parking lot speed (15km/hr), leaving Parking lot (make full stop), merge, so called free way (use max speed as signed- until unless next vechile is slow, always change lane smoothly, 80 limit drive min 75 until unless there is reason, don’t scared or tailgate). No tailgating. It’s hard when you are in school zone next front keep distance) I mean hard wire your brain with each of above practice practice. Examiners are human they know how we feel, trust me. I almost gave up after continuous tests. If you think you have hard GDL driving habits give yourself school driving class, I know it’s costly but it will feel you confident now matter where you give test. Thanks for at reading! Wish you best. I know it needs heart to do over and over but don’t give gasps, you will get it. Cheers :)
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE: A Plus Registry Services Ltd located at 3604 - 52 Ave. NW, suite 101. My 16 year old daughter just took her $85.00 drivers test here and failed. Here examiner was #03533. She received the following deductions: • one-handed steering (apparently she was told that when making a turn, both hands should always be in contact with the wheel--how?) • straddles lane (she was most definitely sober when she took the test:) • failed to stop when leaving the parking lot (this is certainly untrue b/c as any mom would do, I watched them drive off and she definitely did stop.) Total deductions were 130 points. At the end of the exam he told her that he could tell she'd been driving a while and was pretty good, but would benefit from taking driver's education. All this after $750 worth of AMA in-class and driving instruction this Aug/Sept with a passing mark + 2 years of driving with a learners… Where is the examiner accountability? That is my biggest beef in all this. You get charged a fortune & if you pass great! If you fail, you have no recourse & you're $85 lighter. It's completely ridiculous! Next time GoPro on the dash!
Dreadful!! All the negative reviews are true. Do not give this place your money, or your time. I'm not a regular reviewer but this place deserves to be called out as the way they treat customers is unacceptable. I'm convinced they are 100% scamming their customers on the road tests too. While waiting to be seen, I heard an interaction between a customer and a member of staff that made me want to step in. The staff member was ridiculously rude, arrogant and patronizing. She was on a mission to talk down to the customer, dictating that they 'don't interrupt her'. The whole place made my blood boil. Seriously, don't go here.
Very shady registry. Do not do any driving examinations here. Driving instructor told me I was speeding when I know for a fact I was not as I was looking at my speedometer to ensure I was doing the speed limit before I entered the zone she claimed I was speeding in. Was docked points for doing the recommended speed limit around corners. Was docked points for taking wide turns when I know I did not. Was docked points for slowing down for a jaywalker who was about to walk across the road with his two dogs. I proceeded when he waved for me to go. Apparently I was just supposed to take my chances that the dogs wouldn’t jump on the road and I’d run them over. I will be filing a complaint against her.
I wish there was a rating lower than 1 star. Rude, cantankerous staff. Who are unwilling to lend a hand, use their head or think about the customer service aspect of the job. The registration process has alot of bierocracy in general but a plus registry goes above and beyond in a mission to make the customer experience as difficult as possible. Went there two times in the same day and was sent away each time due to "discrepancies in information" angered I went to another dmv with all the same information and immediately got what I came for.
got me on hold on the phone for half an hour and then didnt get back and just cut the call
Had a pleasure of working with Zulfar today. She has done an outstanding job. She also took time to educate me on couple of things. Awesome experience and far better than Crowfoot registry when i have been going and finding it difficult everytime i go. Thanks alot Zulfar for helping me. I am coming to this location for all future needs.
I've seen them sanitizing their office and they make sure its not crowded inside. Very friendly service and the lady was very helpful. Thank you and keep up the good service you're providing!
I have used the services of this registry [location] several times, both for plates, plate renewal and new vehicle registrations, and each and every time I have been treated with respect and courtesy. I think driving examinations should be difficult, as mandated by the province. In my day many of my schoolmates failed at least once when attempting their first try at an operator's licence. Sounds to me, from some of these reviews, that today's ratios are much the same.
Probably one of the best registries in Calgary! Very professional, and the driving instructers are very friendly and helpful. The customer service is great and very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
In and out in 5 min Super helpful staff. Happy with my visit
I had a wonderful experience at A-Plus. They were helpful, friendly, and let me know some additional information that saved me time and money. Lucky to have this registry so close to my house!
Just did my class 5 driver's test here with Ashok, he was very helpful. He made me feel comfortable and provided very helpful tips after the test. He explained concepts very well, would definitely recommend doing your test with him if you can!
Driving Test is a crock. They will fail you first time no matter how good you drive. They make an easy 100 bucks that way. Total scam.
Today I went to registry I can’t buy permits for drive test advanced road test so ya but another place says I can buy permits and booking for December
AVOID THIS PLACE unless you want to pay multiple times for your road test. At the end of the test the examiner turned to me and said "I guess ill be seeing you again" with a big grin (hinting that it may have been the owner). When I said I would be taking my next test elsewhere he was extremely standoffish. Before I even took the test the examiner made me wait for 30 min despite having an appointment and made no attempt to apologize for wasting my time. I've had many years of experience driving and have been complimented many times for my driving skills. The test started with the instructor telling me to turn right with about 15 meters left before the intersection. The rest of the test was very similar. The instructor trying to trick me by saying things with not much time to execute safely and marking me down of trivial points. He docked me as many points as he could (30) for a mistake I only made once. He would also initiate conversation in the middle of his instructions just to throw you off. As I said, A1 is only interested in your money. Take it elsewhere. I know the owner will try to comment on this and act like he will try to resolve this but believe me, he his only interested in charging people as much as he can.
This place is horrible. My pregnant wife went with our son to renew her license and they wouldnt let here due to some policy saying that your not allowed to bring anyone with you. What is someone suppose to do? I work out of town and she didnt have anyone to leave our son with.
NEVER GO FOR ROAD TEST. The examiner is hostile, unfriendly and unjust. Failed me for driving slow while I was in a line up how can you drive fast when there is a que. next day went to another registry and passed. From the reviews the owner will respond that the examiner is under Alberta Transportation and not under him. There is need to review this registry, what proportion have failed, when the registry vehicle is rented or not rented, there could be a scheme to make money. The examiner needs to be blindly evaluated if he is stilling capable. This is a zero star registry. Today I had a telephone conversation with the owner and were able to resolve most of the issues which was very kind of him. Issues related to customer care he will take up with his staff and the road test examiner. However I will contact Alberta transportation about the examiners so that he can be stringently monitored.
Had a great experience here today; which you don't expect from a trip to the registry. But Reena; who helped me was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond the customer service expected and made my visit very positive enough that I had to take the time to write a review about it. Especially for everyone writing negative reviews just because they failed their road tests. I happened to of done my learners road test and just recently my advanced road test at this location and passed first try both times. They are more then fair. But if you aren't a good enough driver- they are obligated to fail you. Simple as that.
I received excellent service from their team. They were fast, efficient and informed. The whole process was made easy from the moment I reached out for help. Thank you!
Staff will SCAM YOU! Was told here that I had an unexplained $50 "fee" before I could renew my drivers liscence. Went to another registry and got it for the normal price, no extra "fee".
Terrible. Absolutely terrible. I recently brought my boyfriend there to take his road test that we booked and.paid for online. We followed all the instructions that we received in our message following the booking. We showed up early as was instructed and when we arrived there was a huge line up. My boyfriend proceeded to the back of.the.line and took his place. Shortly after realized they were also taking numbers so grab a number and retook his new spot in line. Nowhere was there posted that road test were to superceded the line and enter the place. So he waited until it was his turn. Once at the counter which was now 30 mins later then the booked test time the clerk proceeded to tell him that he couldn't take the test even though we had waited an hour in line to do so. Also that they would not be refunding his payment or rebooking. He asked to speak to the manager. And once he did the guy accused us of not being there on time and said we we went in line even thought the lady who waited behind us confirmed we had. Been there. So in short. We followed there instructions and waited over a hour just to be robbed of $86.06 Accussed of being liars and shooed away like it was typical business procedures. Not.cool. not cool at all. Pick up your socks. And stop operating like a Micky mouse operation. Part2 In response to your brief and bland reply to the entire service received the day you stole 86.06$ from a hard working middle class family. I believe more should have been done to rectify this situation. And a apology now would almost seem smug. But at the time would have at least been something. And I've noticed that from reading your responses with other reviews that would be ridiculous. Considering you never own any of.the hundreds of mistakes made by your company. By your standards you never have messed up or forgot or misplace, misrepresented, reaproprated, or failed to do your due diligence ever. I'm amazed I must have been in a different registry when I was failed to be informed to ignore the line and come in to do the drivers test.. my bad.. lol what a joke you guys really are something else. Can't even own or apologize for even a part of the misunderstanding. Goes to show the integrity of the place is definitely shady and most likely corrupt from the bottom up. Enjoy your day. No need to respond cause the lip service should be saved for your next unsuspecting victim. Everyone else. Went to forest lawn registry the following week had great service no issues and will recommend everyone take there business there or somewhere else..
This company ripped off my husband $136! They needed medical before you can register for road test. So my husband has to get the medical before he can schedule the road test. And on the day of the road test, their hand-out listed valid driver's licence, valid car registration and valid insurance to be presented to the examiner. Guess what?! They did not let my husband do the road test because he did not bring his medical. My husband offered to bring the medical after the road test but they did let him. Too bad company like this still in operation.
Writing this review from my girlfriend's account; I went in for an examination this week and dealt with the 'old man' examiner likely being referred to in the comments. I want to stress that the man's job is to verify the skill and ability of the drivers that attend the examinations. His job is to screen learning drivers and certify those who demonstrate appropriate behaviour on the road. His job is not to placate those who simply spend the money to register for an exam. I had a great experience, I was judged according to the skills I demonstrated and although personally I could have done better, I was educated in the mistakes I had made and the actions I can take to rectify them in the future. I was glad the right steps were made by the gentleman to ensure that myself, and others like me, could take away the constructive information to grow from the process, pass or fail. A huge thank you for the examiner, for doing his objective duty and ensuring that newer generations on the road have adequately presented the knowledge required to be safe operators. And a thank you as well to the desk associate for prompt and professional service throughout the clerical process. Would recommend to others. - Brandon
It is a terrible mistake to choose this registry. I should looked at the reviews before come to this registry for my road test. It is definitely not coincident more than 5 people mentioned uncontrolled intersection in the reviews. I strongly suggest not to come to this registry for any road tests.
Always helpful and have received great service numerous times!
After reading some of the reviews here I felt like I should share my experience with A-plus Registry in the hopes that people will have more positive reviews to look at as I truly believe the few positive reviews reflect the experience I had far more that the many negative reviews. I went here for my Class 5B license in June and was unsuccessful my first time through. At no point before, during, or after the test did I feel like the examiner was speaking to me in a condescending or rude way, simply in the way of a professional. The examiner was clear with what I had done wrong and answered all of my questions appropriately. I came back a few days later using the notes I got from my first attempt and attempted the test again and passed. Both examiners I dealt with were respectful and professional. There is no reason that anyone should have any trouble passing here as long as you are a confident and capable driver. All-in-all I had a great experience with A-plus Registry and would highly recommend this place to anyone.
The employee I spoke to was very rude, refused to advise me on next steps, and looked at my temporary license like they'd never seen such a thing (couldn't get photo id renewed due to ongoing pandemic, I'm sure I'm not the only one this affected). Sorry for coming in with a license issue... I thought that was part of the job description, and I even phoned ahead to make sure they'd be able to help me. Super glad I waited in line during covid for that kind of 'help.' Before the owner responds - I phoned ahead, asked if the documents I had were sufficient for what I needed to do. Was told yes. Showed up, waited probably 20-30 min, to be glared at by the woman at the counter, and completely refused service. I tried to ask what else I could do, and she gave me the exact same very short and rude response, twice. Perhaps instead of scolding your reviewers for settling 'private issues' in a public setting, have your employees treat your customers' private issues with some courtesy while in your very public place of 'business.' I believe every 1 star review on here, any of the higher ratings seem to be newly licensed drivers excited to be on the road for the first time. No one expects good service at a licensing shop, the least you could do is take negative reviews with some dignity.
The clerk was rude when I attended to transfer my registration. I handed her my documents and she asked where my wife was (who was required). I said she was just arriving and the clerk said I would have to await her arrival. I knew my wife was out front so I called her and told the clerk. There were no customers behind me and I said it didn’t look busy and the clerk abruptly said she had other work to do. This clerk requires training on customer service and how to appropriately respond to customers. I left and told her I would take my business elsewhere. I will not use this registry office again.
There is nothing A+ about this registry and should be more appropriately named F- Registry. The usual indifference that can be expected when dealing with bureaucrats is matched and exceeded. Their fees are substantially higher than others and the advice is often misleading. For example, I was in a few night's ago and requested a 10 year Driver's Abstract, as I was moving to B.C (which I explained to the clerk). I then realized it did not contain the date of my first licence, as ICBC bases rates on experience. I went in the next night and explained that I needed a letter of confirmation. The clerk was unfriendly and explained that I would need to purchase a 10 car Driver's abstract and the letter for around $70. I explained that I had just purchased a 10 year abstract the night before that was in the car. They told me I would still need to purchase both and couldn't tell me when I would receive it. I immediately left and went to another registry with a higher rating. They were incredibly helpful and accepted my abstract (despite it coming from another registry) and provided a direct answer to how long I was looking at. They could not believe I paid as much as I did for the Driver's abstract, though it was only $10 more Every interaction I have had with A-plus has been unpleasant and I have recently learned that not all registries are the same; I would highly recommend finding a more reputable registry (A-plus's ratings and reviews are well merited), as there are many to choose from (I kept going here because it is closest to my house). Stay clear of this registry if possible!
The registry did not manage to maintain a safe and ruly environment during the Covid 19.
Only giving 5 stars because I did appreciate the two employees I’ve interacted with; Chrissy and Zuki/Suki. The day I was there for my road test, it was chaos. A girl was “half an hour late” for her road test, but not really, she waited and waited for an hour prior but just didn’t get the assistance she needed cus the registry was understaffed. There was older lady being difficult and arguing with the staff. The number system was not being followed cus people were not paying attention when getting called. Chrissy, the receptionist made my visit better as she was very warm and polite (even wished me good luck for my road test). During my actual test, Zuki/Suki, the examiner, was really quiet and calm and right after the test even gave me great tips which was a surprise to me. I heard stories about the examiners from this location being rude and unnecessarily mean but Zuki/Suki was not like that at all.
Great service on the phone as I booked my road test for my bike licence. I was informed of exactly what was needed for me to bring. When I arrived, the tester was polite and informed me exactly where we would be heading. After the test we discussed what could improve and I passed. No big deal at all.
I went in 2 beginers regestry office in Calgary, and this office worker are the best experienced.
Thank you for your service today it was wonderful went to change my name and renew my registration qnd it was wonderful. The lady that was helping me was great and I appreciated her assistance very much she answered all my silly questions I may have had. I dont know the lady's name that helped me she was an older lady but she was great.
This registry office is corrupted! Examiners will never pass you in your first try, I suspect that they get some benefit from the office for every failed road test. There is no governmental control over examiners wether they get benefit from the office illegally or not. Mad there's no control mechanism if the examiner is fair or not during the road test evaluation. Government of Alberta should make something to make road tests more fair and objective.
The registry girl was super nice but would go elsewhere for road tests. When the test started she told me she doesn’t normally do road tests, she was just filling in for someone........
Horrible service. The lady I dealt with was so rude and unhelpful. Their staff clearly need to be trained better
Worst registry in Calgary. The examiner just tries to fail your driving test. He puts in mistakes which never happened. He forced me to turn left when I was uncomfortable to turn left and I wasn't sure if I can make it safe (lack of visibility because of the car in front). Also, I slowed down on uncontrolled intersection to check the incoming traffic but he said that I didn't do it and he failed me right away. Conclusion: under any conditions avoid this registry and go to Crowfoot registry, for example. I drive 10+ years and just decided to get my full license to teach my wife. But it was a big mistake going to this registry where people are unfriendly, not cooperative at all and the service is very slow too.
I do not recommend this registry at all. They changed my full driving licence with 15 years of driving experience to a GDL one when I just asked for change of address. Later they asked me to pay $22 to correct the mistake they had done. Maybe that's their trick to make more money. The staff member that was apparently the supervisor was soooo mean.
On Sept 8th 2014 First day of Snow Fall. Instructor For Class 6 said it was safe enough to take the road test because there wasn't any snow accumulating on the ground. If ANYONE has every driven on the ROADS of Calgary during Snow FALL would you think they would at least let you reschedule the Exam. Nope Instead its a CASH CRAB of $125.00 Good on Safety Council to send you place where they don't care if you are going to die from Calgary Weather and Drivers. Best bet find another registry
I am using my wife's google account. This is to inform everyone to have a second thought of taking your driving examination here. Yesterday, September 8, 2017, I had my driver road examination at A Plus Registry. It was conducted by Examiner No. 03533. I was not happy with the result of my driving examination partly because I was deliberately failed by the Examiner and I believe that the examiner is not fair on his judgement. If you could see on the attached checklist, he made an erasure on the total points,That is supposed to be 70. He told me that I passed.. but "I will not let you passed" that's what he said. And then he added some violations that were not in the checklist before, He did that just to lower my grade to 80. - I do not agree that I over speed. It was in Nose Hill drive. The Km/hr then was 60 then it goes to 50. Before it went to 50km/h, I already reduce my speed before he advised me to do so. I've been driving for more than 10 years both here in Canada and in my country of origin and I never had any violation. You can check on my record I never had any violation of over speeding, why would I do that on the day of my examination? - I do not agree that I was fast in Left turning. It was in the playground zone and I am very much aware that I should not go fast there. - I do not agree that I did not shoulder check because I did. I always do. If only I have a camera installed on my car then you would know that I am telling the truth. Even if my truck has sensor when changing lanes or camera for backing-up, I do not rely on those. I always do the standard of shoulder checking and checking for blind spots and whatnot. There are a lot of negative reviews about this examiner. You can read there that Examiner 03533 is a liar and a money scum. He is not really reliable. I hope there is something you can do about this so it won't happen again to anyone. I would really like to passed this exam because I would like to pursue a driving career here and I won't let him ruin that.
Horrible registry, old brown guy is very unprofessional and is just trying to take your money. DO NOT COME HERE AND WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!I've never seen such horrible customer service, he wasn't even on time, and was very rude. I urge everyone to go somewhere else, even if it is a further drive. Not worth it. Horrible place, if I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible. By the way I am also brown, so the owner claiming "racism" does not make sense to me. He just wants to hide the fact that his shop is horrible, this is my opinion which I'm entitled too, other people need to be aware of what kind of registry this is. Maybe try and fix the things MANY people have said instead of trying to get rid of reviews. Very pathetic.
I've been here many times, but today I had the misfortune to be helped by a lady who was not gifted with enough thoughtfulness or authority to complete the request. How this place remains in business is a mystery.
