Since the new manager came in. The food has been even worse. I ordered nachos with no olives. It came with olives. Didn't offer to redo it. Didn't give a discount. Had. It gone back for months. Now I go back get chicken fingers and a poutin. Poutin was cold around the outside and super hot in the middle. Awesome microwaving skill guys !!!! So gross. Left it. Waitress saw my plate didn't say anything billed me for it all. I had to tell her what was wrong. She charged me anyway betcha she is going to remove the poutin and pocket the difference. 1 star is too generous.

Unfortunately service was not good. Our server was not attentive to us, eventually another waitress from a different section had to come serve us when she noticed we weren't being served. Our server accidentally gave me a drink that I didn't order which is fine, I was still going to drink it, but when I told her, she then took away that drink. At most places they would let you keep the wrong drink on them.

Pros: great patio in summer time - although unsure of how much sun there is now because of the new buildings around it. Hydro really blocked it out quite early. Recommend buying a bottle of something and pouring it for yourself. Cons: food is subpar. Service is slow. Inside decor is dated.

Went here to watch the Jets game, drink beer and eat wings. Service was amazing, food was tasty and beer was cold! Meghan was our server; she always made sure we had full drinks, lots of napkins and wet ones! Tons of wing flavours to chose from, and a decent selection of draught beer. Would be nice to see more local beers on draught. It was my first time at this location; and thanks to Meghan, I will definitely be coming back!

A beautiful patio in the middle of high rise downtown buildings but 3 floors above the street so it's a peaceful roof patio. It could get cold in the evenings but their heaters work just perfect. Overall the menu is fulfilling, few options for vegetarians and vegan also available.

I get that they are busy, but our table seemed to get ignored. I was informed that there were 16 beers on tap with the waitress unwilling to list them. There was no Guiness ????! I understand it may not be top 10 to have on tap, but top 15 at least. They offered me a Guiness alternative, but that is simply not acceptable. Wings were wings. Hard to screw those up.

It's a nice place, especially if you want to go to the rooftop, however don't go on a windy day as I found out the hard way a good half of their heaters were broken down. Otherwise a pleasent experience.

Had a good dinner here with friends ???? I highly recommend this place if you guys just want to relax with friends and have FUN???? As for the food! The food was cooked properly and was really hot when it came from our table! Also customer service was a wonderful experience as well so I will definitely going to go back here with friends again! It was super packed due to the jets game, but our server still managed to keep up with us the whole meal which was super impressive! Definitely could never forget the CRATE YOUR OWN CAESAR! I've never had that before and it was worth every penny (same price as the traditional caesar!!). To have it personalized to my taste was incredible and the goblet was massive!

Best rooftop patio in Winnipeg. Gets quite busy Wednesday and Thursday so come early. Can be a bit of a wait on drinks as well. Make sure you get a server to speed up the process.

UPDATE: As of 18/04/30 the wings are way better... They are Pinty's. Got them and they were not fatty. They also have organic beer on tap. The Chicken wings were good, they were a staple for us at every Jets game, now they are too fatty. We first thought they were raw, but it was all the fat in them.

Mmmmm wings on special. Food and drink specials are only on for a certain time. Be sure to order well before the special cutoff time, servers definitely lacked in speed.

Patio was amazing, the food was wonderful but for some reason on a really slow night our group of 19 had to wait over an hour for meals. We weren't in a rush so no big deal, but you might want to make sure you give yourself some extra time when you go

Often go there before Jets games. The server's know what up and offer really quick service. As I was waiting for a friend I was asked several times if I needed anything by different server's, normally that can be a bit exhausting, but before a game when your pressed for time it's a great quality.

Went on a Wednesday before 6pm. Wine and domestic beer was cheap, just read the definition of domestic carefully as Keith's is not included. Cheap wings and "boneless bites" but the bites are a better value. Service can be a bit slow at times but friendly.

We were very happy with the presentation of this poutine. It tasted very good as well. I wasn't expecting to like it as much I did. I think ultimately their sauce must have been pretty good as it melded and combined everything in unison. The Speedway Poutine $15.99: This was squeaky cheese curds on chips with hot dogs wrapped in crisp bacon topped with beef chili and an American cheese sauce, loaded with jalapenos and crispy fried onions. This was a solid entry. My previous visits have been a mix of great to average. I did have one of the best nachos there in my life, but subsequently returned only to have a very subpar version. Tavern United is located in the Bell MTS place (as it is stated in the name). You can access it through the skywalks however, so you don't need to go outside, which is nice. Park and slowly meander on by if its cold and you don't have to see the sun.

Had a fabulous Rueben with a HUGE amount of perfectly cooked golden french fries. The menu is very extensive, with some great choices of appy's (which are on sale all day Tuesday, along with All Day Happy Hour on beverages). The Chicken Wings menu will blow you away, 28 flavors, on an easy to read flavor chart, see pic. Again I found a nice place to hang out and watch a game where ever you sit, they even have TV's in some of the booths. There is not a bad seat in the place, 2 levels of seating and enough room for a good gathering of friends, before, during or after the JETS crush the visiting team! Thanks to Bree for helping me with my food allergies to cheese and dairy. Oh, you have to try their St. Mary's sauce with your fries, very unique and tasty. Had a great time, my first visit to Winnipeg, love your city, hate the wind!

the tavern is a multi level bar and a open sky patio at summer, excellent service and high quality food, affordable as well, i don"t find it overpriced, there are VLTs of course for those who like on the second floor, excellent sound system and acoustics, GIANT projection system set up for sports events and are local jets game, just a great place! security is present and very active as well, very safe for downtown Winnipeg! have fun!

The food and drinks are good, and the patio is great during the summer. The service at the restaurant can be a bit slow and there is consistently very little if any dressing on the ceaser salads. Overall still a good place. Edit: -1 star as the frequency in which the restaurant is nearly empty during lunch and we get poor service still is a bit much.

Found food at best to be mediocre. Poutine not even close to what it should be. Bar fries underdone and cold, gravy barely warm and two blobs of cheese still cold. Ordered a wrap ,asked by server which side we'd like with that, so ordered one then were charges extra for it. Place in general needs a redo,kinda grundgy.

I used to enjoy going to Tavern for wing night but the service I recently received while I went with co workers was unbelievable. The server we happen to have was "JILLZ", she was nice at first but her service was below average. We had to wave her down multiple times to our table, messed up drinks and orders. It was mid day and it was not at all busy in there so there was no excuse for our delayed service. When asking for our bills she struggled to get them correct, while paying she asked if anything was wrong with the service, we nicely said no it was fine. She continued asking why we were not tipping her, apparently we were putting her in a xx amount of debt since employees give Tavern a certain percent of their tips. She said she was going to get her manager but actually came back with security, before leaving she told us to, "think about tipping next time we go out to drink." After the incident I was in contact with management and went back exactly a week later to receive vouchers and use them but it was not worth was uncomfortable feeling as "JILLZ" was once again working that day and I would feeling her dirty looks. She was not our server again but it was a polite gentlemen, I forgot his name. Needless to say with disappointment that was my last visit to Tavern.

It was typical sports pub although layout was multi level and interesting. Staff wore typical short skirt tartens and didn't see any male staff so not breaking ground in the equality front but at a sports bar in Winnipeg what do you expect. Food was good and prices typical

I love the wings and food here ! But service is a hit and miss. I usually eat on the second floor because it's less crowded but service is way faster on the first floor & rooftop patio.. But it is a lovely place that has a diverse mix of every type of ethnicity usually. I dont get weird "you don't belong here" vibes here like you do at some places downtown like Earl's, or Shark Club etc. I also like the music they play here. It's my fave place to go out too

Hey check this place out. It's a sports bar. It's got multi channel if you ever the only person in the bar you can get them to put on every single game that you've bet on that night. Consider the amount of over stimulation that comes from a situation like that. Yeah! It awesome. oh also, they've got bar food for days. Last bit... Don't come expecting that small empty bar service when there's a major event it's right beside the arena. You will be served as soon as you get served. Prep yourself. That's all.

I wish I can give half a star since it’s a good day. The service was horrible and the food took way to long over 1hr for 4 burgers and fries. We originally wanted wings on wing night but since it’s a jets game they wouldn’t do it which was odd. Food came and it was mediocre but the server didn’t give us any napkins or cutlery with out food. Server kept on saying food would take a few more minutes 3 times. I personally wouldn’t go to this location every again. Super disappointed

I do not recommend this place. Rude. This rude and racist waitress refused to serve me any drinks and every time I called her she would look at me and walk away. I asked for another bar tender and said the lady would come. But I wanted another ten minutes. The restaurant was completely empty at the time as well and I understand why. If you want customer service this is not the place.

For the most part a good location. Good selection, a nice rooftop patio, good drink selection. Common problem with barely any dressing on ceaser salads or wraps, can also be a bit hit and miss on how quickly you'll get your bill when it isn't all that busy. Good lighting compared to a number of close by bars that are like dungeons with how dark they go. Overall a good place.

One of the best wings in town. They have a lot of choices and a good deals for wings nights. There is a pool table for groups entertainment. The staff in there not always friendly and nice but globally its ok. I recommend for groups its very good place to chill.

Only reason this is 3/5 is the lunchtime service is terrible. Considering the options in the area for lunch, this is the slowest. Food is ok. Roof top patio is great. Some nights they will have a DJ. Good on them for mixing it up.

Went to watch the blue bombers play Saskatchewan before the jets game in the fall. Reading these reviews I felt like I needed to post. The service was poor (server was rude) and the nachos did not have nearly enough chips. When we asked for more, She even told us we had to Pay! Not going back. Edit: same thing happened again. I informed them I won't be back, and showed them cash to explain that I'm taking my money elsewhere.

I go to this location approximately twice a month. The waitresses don't always acknowledge you when you first come in because they're usually busy talking to each other. However, once they've noticed you, it's all positive from there. They're very friendly and helpful. Sometimes the bartenders don't pour the full 1oz shot in the drinks that they make, and it's very noticeable. But once you mention it, they remake your drink for you (free of charge) and start mixing the drinks correctly. Overall, the establishment offers food, drinks, many tables and seats, 2 floors, a rooftop patio, big flatscreen TVs, vlt slot machines, and more. Personally, I enjoy the rooftop patio a lot in the summertime. It's a great place to go to for pregaming before concerts/shows/games at the bellmts centre.

Were on the rooftop patio on this gorgeous day. Our server was a lovely young woman and very helpful. This is the most beautiful patio in wpg. They have music and dancing on Wed and Thurs eve. It had nice lounge chairs and couches and very elegant. Very nice for the young set. Food was good had perogie poutine . Happy Hour drinks from 11 to 7. 4.50 Plus tax.beer wine and shots. A very good experience in downtown peg. Were here for lunch with our nephew for lunch. Waitress very friendly and helpful. Food very good and cheap drinks. Went today for burger week 2018. Their hot dog burger 1 out of 5. Their lovely roof top patio has been spoiled by the new true north buildings. Blocks all the sun nearly and on a windy day it is quite cool and windy up there. They do have heaters tho. Only would go on a really hot day now.

Went inside to dine and then on the rooftop for drinks. Nice atmosphere, not too club-like and quite a bit livelier than the average bar. Adrianne is the worst server. She will rip you off. My friend paid her half, and my other was charged via debit. So what Adrianne did was take the cash from my other friend and charge the full bill to my other buddy. So she tried to walk away with $67.00 tip.

Went here for lunch with my husband and we sat down waited over 10 minutes to order drinks and then waited forever for them to get to the table. Then we waited for 25 minutes to place a food order by which time we decided it wasn't worth it and went elsewhere. It woudlnt have been so bad if it had been busy but there were all but 6 people inside the building!! There were people sitting at a table close by who came in after us, got drinks and ordered food before we had gotten out drinks. Not sure about the food but if it was as bad as the service i am glad we didn't get to try it.

It's okay. Food was cold, manager quickly offered up a discount on the bill. I think on busy nights the staff are spread out pretty thin and being a physically larger establishment it's tricky to keep track of when food is ready.

Went the Tavrrn for a going away lunch for onr of my coworkers. Service was fast and friendly. Food was not quite as expected. I ordered the lunch size haddock and fries and found the hoddock to be tough and dry. Another one of out group was missing a some of his order (it was discounted on the bill) and another ordered a chili burger but half the hamburger patty was missing. Not sure what was happening there today as the food is normally quite consistently good. Unfortunately we probably won't visit again for a while and see if things change.

Nothing too special about this place, there is VLT in the second floor. If you want food and drinks you can go here, but the location will require you to pay for parking on the street. It could be hard to find since this is in downtown. The place tends to get super busy when theres event at the MTS center.

They just care about selling booze and have to serve food because of it, and it shows. Great drinks and very nice servers but the food is horriable and the prices are high tourist prices in a not so great downtown Winnipeg area,. You also have to pay for parking at $4.00 a hour minimum. I got a sandwich with a hole in both sides of the bread, bigger than the sandwich was. Not impressed. we wont go back again.

I really wish I wasn’t giving this 2 stars but tonight was not great. Showed up around 845pm for the roof top patio. Right after I got there my brother showed up and they wanted to charge cover. The patio had approx 6 people, one of which was the DJ. They didn’t charge him thankfully. It was wing night, but apparently if you’re on the patio they won’t serve you wings (too difficult for the kitchen is what we were told). In fact there is a bunch of stuff on the menu they give you that they don’t serve if you’re on the patio. Which makes me wonder why they don’t have a “patio” menu. After our drinks we decided to go downstairs to get more drinks and wings. When we got to the main floor via the elevator we went to the door to the restaurant and the security guard told us we couldn’t enter and would have to go around to the street entrance. Again, this place is basically empty. So we exited the building, walked around on the street to the main entrance, passed around 5-6 security guards and re-entered the restaurant. Why so much security at that hour? I was there from 9-10pm and the place was at most 10% full. Why cover? And why can’t you order food off the menu on the amazing roof top patio? Pictures I’ve posted are from this time frame.

For my first time here, my experience was pretty great. Portion sizes were great for me, and their rooftop menu is more bar food than their dining room downstairs. The options are more limited, but still enough to satisfy a picky eater. The view from the rooftop is great and they have their own bar and kitchen so we didn't have to wait long for food. Would definitely go back when I have the chance.

The first time I came here I just had strips of steak with a shocktop and it was pretty decent. So I came back to get an order to go, 4 orders to be exact, and expected it to be the same quality and service. When we got back and opened our boxes none of the orders where correct and the food was very low standard. It was a huge let down. Won't be going here again unfortunately.

I was impressed how good the flow of the service was here on a really busy night watching the Jets game. A friend of mine wanted to meet here before we went to the game inside the arena. Got the double smashed cheeseburger with fries. I like the way they cook it here, the cheese was nice and melted and just oozed out once you grab the top and bottom. It can get messy, but it was a tasty burger. The fries are nice and thick. The service for drinks was pretty good too, our waitress came back every 20 minutes to check up on us. It can get pretty packed in there during game nights, but I would come back here for sure to try their chicken wings, have heard positive feedback about their winds.

The roof top patio is the only patio you need to go to. Wow so exciting and fun. The drinks are basic the food is garbage. However the views and vibe are second to none. They have warming heaters and that helped keep us out till almost closing. Book your table for the patio in advance or you will have to wait 60-90 mins for a patio table otherwise. Also they lost a star because the wasps were terrible especially in August. We had sangri and we realized the wasps were only at our table and got beers and tomato based drinks. They need to try and help customers and put thinks to keep wasps away. Also elevators weren’t working and walking like three long flights in heels sucked.

Beautiful venue but experience could be much better, waited almost an hour for a couple orders of lukewarm wings which were then placed on a table beside us where they sat until we moved them to the table ourselves. Weren't even sure it was our food. I get that covid is a concern but every other restaurant will at least put the food in front of you.

We have visited this establishment 3 times over the summer - without fail they have FAILED every time. The first time, we waited over an hour for food with no one visiting our table, after hunting down a server we were advised that our food was not ready and given to another table but we could wait another 20 mins and it would be ready during this entire visit we were given one drink. not ideal for an hour lunch. a $10 gift card was offered The second time we ordered food to take back to the office, paid for a full size serving only to find out we had a half serving - we were then given a $50 gift card. so we gave them another go. So on the third visit, we again order food to go for lunch - specifically a taco salad which one would assume would have tortillas in it as it is a TACO salad. However, when opening this salad there were no chips to be found. I would strongly recommend NOT visiting here and giving them your hard earned cash - as although the General Manager is lovely, the serving staff need a lesson or 2 in customer service - even a smile would be nice.

First off Tionees our waitress was awesome none of the issues we encountered werent her fault and she did her best. I cannot say the same for the manger on duty oct 29th at noon. The drinks were flat, they tasted like water and the manager tried to change the filter but nothing improved they didnt seem to really care about it. We ordered the the honey dill wings, they came as just plain breaded wings with no flavouring the manager took the wings away and brought the same wings back with honey dill dipping "oh its on the side for these". So he carried these wings from the kitcheen downstairs then upstairs, downstairs again and then back to our table upstairs, hello covide they werent even covered. They comped our flat pop and that was it. I have been to any other Taven United and had great experiences there (Polo Park, Regent, Windsor Park), I will not be returning to this one. The wings were good and the nachos's were fine otherwise.
