You think patio season in Little Italy, or even just Winnipeg in general, you think Saffron's. The food is alright, somewhere between pub fare and a restaurant. I prefer food from their neighbours but the live music, patio availability, vibes, and atmosphere is what makes this place. There's also karaoke at the indoor lounge; although there seems to always be regulars there so I'd stick to the patio unless you're (a) part of their inebriated squad or (b) part of one of the bachelor/bachelorette parties that seem to be there weekly.

The sprawling patio on a high pedestrian traffic area leads to instant success. I have found the menu and service is not strong. The benefit to this spot is being surrounded by people enjoying a beautiful day.

Ordered a coke which was $3.50 then about an hour later they said no free refills. Another thing was that our food took very long, we waited about 1 hour for that. Not coming back.

Definitely don’t go here if you want good food. Needs a management change. Rude and actually just mean to my brother. What kind of people and businesses are we supporting - think twice before going here. Your support is better placed elsewhere.

to be honest it was a little mediocre. Prices seem fair but my food was pretty bland nothing special. and we went there because the patio had heating. However the heating was spotty and the patio itself could use some aesthetic updates. All that being said the food was alright and our server was very nice! Maybe after a few changes Ill give this place another go (:

We ordered their bruschetta, cAme on small crustinis with some goat cheese underneath. Wasn't what I thought would go well together but the tastes blended so well. Definitely a must try

Me and 5 others sat on the patio, it was a weekday. I ordered a pizza, it came to the table burnt on one side and was rock hard. Waitress should have asked cook to remake. It was dry, tasteless and the chicken on it tasted old. No flavor what so ever. The worst pizza Ive had, pizza hotline is better! What a waist of $20. We all asked for ice water several times but only got room temp water. Another person had a salad and it had hardly any dressing, it was dry and the burger was nothing special. Everyone else’s was bland. Would not return back.

A large well spaced wrap around patio and location being in the heart of the social scene of Corydon gives it a 3 for me. The menu has some variety, along with some healthy and vegetarian options. There are some daily specials for food and beverages. The prices are fair and comparable for food and drink as other restuarants. "Meh" is the word that first approches my mind re the food and drink taste and presentation. A party member's beverage was returned due to it tasting like soap. Another party member's lemon pepper wings were extremely oddly sweet not salty as they should be. The yam fries and sauce was ok. I unknowingly was paying 2.75 per refill of my soda which should have been made clear. The service my party and I experienced was good. Our server was friendly and attentive. Although the location and patio size is super; I think the hunt for some great food will take us elsewhere on Corydon.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I arrived at 7:00 pm to eat on the patio. Seeing how busy it was, I asked the hostess if I could put my name on the waiting list. She rudely told me she didn't take care of that and I would have to go to the front of the restaurant. I walked through the bar, through the restaurant and to the patio "receiving area" (which is in the worst spot ever since they don't even sit people at the tables next to it) and asked that hostess if I could put my name down. She walked away without saying anything. 3 more employees walked by me and asked if I had been helped, when I said "no" they just said "oh" and continued on their way. When she finally came back she told me there was a wait and asked me to wait in the bar. She walked me back to the bar, sat me down, and didn't take my name until I told her she would need it for the waiting list. I was not served in the bar, although I was told I would be, and waited for 10 minutes (which is not unreasonable by any means). When I was seated at the table I waited for 20 more minutes without so much as someone taking my drink order. The woman who appeared to be supervising the serving staff walked by, and I asked if there would be someone by to take my drink order. Her response was "uhhh, I don't know, it's really busy, and it's not my job to take your order". First off, I was not being impatient, I had waited politely for 30 minutes, and expected to wait because of the patio. I had appropriate expectations. Second, how do you not know if someone will be by to ask me if I would like a drink? When the server finally came she was wonderful, obviously busy, but not her fault. She was the only friendly person I encountered and it was only her second day. I understand that it might be busy, but that doesn't give you the right to treat your customers poorly.

Just about didn't go based on the reviews here. Glad I didn't go by that. Been there twice and the service, food, atmosphere and value were good both times. Not sure what people are expecting, but we will return. The Tropical Chicken pizza was excellent.

Saffrons has the perfect summer patio that is in the heart of Corydon, honestly the drink menu is the best thing about this place. The food wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t to be remembered. Calamari was very bland, no flavor at all, and the pasta was undercooked. Our drinks though were great. Staff was friendly with us, but I wished the food was slightly more enjoyable.

Service wasn’t the greatest. Was approached by an older gentleman at the door, who Im assuming is the owner. Walked us to the table and handed us menus, didn’t say a single word. Very unprofessional considering your the owner. Waited for 20 minutes before a server introduced herself to take our drink orders. Food was okay. Wasn’t the greatest. Won’t be returning anytime soon unfortunately.

Three stars, because the servers are wonderful. The manager is an ass though, needs to lose their job. Also, the commenter saying it's a good place for guys to go and look at women, you're disgusting, and you need to get some respect towards other people. Women are not objects to stare at, they are human beings.

Went for Le Burger Week and they did not disappoint. I only have a small complaint regarding their serving staff. The host did not have a mask on or the person that served our waters. Our waitress also while wearing a mask, most of the time it was on her chin. Now we were on the patio but everywhere else I have eaten had during vivid, including patios, serving staff wore masks.

This place is kind of hit and miss. The food on this visit was fantastic but the service was really terrible. This time we had the saffron chicken and the lamb shank and both were so delicious they made up for the bad service.

HUGE disappointment. The lettuce in my salad was obviously unwashed. My order was not brought out correctly and when I pointed this out the waitress didn't so much as offer an apology. Poor service all around and the food was nothing special, especially for the price. Do not recommend this place.

Honestly worst experience I've had at any restaurant. We called to request a spot on the patio and were told 30 minutes. We showed up early to have a drink at the bar and asked to confirm that we were on the list. The owner was rude but confirmed we were on for 530pm. We sat by the window so we had a full view of the patio. The owner was seating people outside without wiping down tables/chairs and passing blankets from vacated tables directly to new customers. Super covid-y. They had 3 servers and no bartender on staff it took us 20 minutes to get our first drinks which we had to order from the bar as we had no assigned server and noone seemed to want to deal with us. 6pm rolls by and he's seating everyone that walks in the door and completely avoiding eye contact with us or coming anywhere near our table. Eventually we decided to stay inside since the sun had set anyway. 20 minutes to get menus, another 40 minutes to have nachos and a rice bowl to come out to the table. Nachos were burnt, all the cheese was on the paper lining the basket and was cheap paper so it ripped with the cheese and we couldn't eat it. Tuna bowl was totally bland. Very pricey for what you get. The only upside is the server that finally agreed to serve us was very friendly despite the fact that they were completely understaffed. Will not be going back.

very disappointed with the service! Not recommended at all! We were enjoying our meals while making sure we keep our distances that the manager came up to us and asked my brother to change his sit in a very RUDE way! he first touched him and then just said "go sit over there!!!!" I mean is it us paying for the service or him?? is it a military camp??? Also if he is very concerned about his customers' well being, he should've never touched my brother at the very first place! when we asked him why he treats his customers like that and we will write a review on how you behave your customers, he said "I do not care about your reviews!!!"

The patio is nice and big, but that's just about all they have going for them. My husband called ahead to order a meal that he wanted to pick up. They said that was fine, and quoted him about 20 minutes, but did not take his name. We thought that was strange, but we went over at the time they said. When he went in to pick it up, he was just told that it was not ready. He was not given a time frame, not asked to pay, and still no one took his name. The server did not even go into the kitchen to check on it. After waiting another 20 minutes, he asked again and was just told that it was not ready. He was given no indication of whether or not they were actually making the dish, or if the kitchen knew that he was waiting for it. We ended up just leaving after about an hour total. It was a single appetizer that should have never taken that long to make (if they even intended to make it), and so much about the experience was completely unacceptable.

Really in need of an update we sat out on the deck where several boards were loose and every time the wait staff walked by your chair would move. The washroom really wasn't very clean and the stall dividers look like they're about to fall off the wall

Had no water available. Said that there was a "sewage leak in the whole area" and would only sell us bottled water? Called other restaurants amd walked by MANY people drinking water. Clear water, completely untouched by sewage. DD's are obviously not welcome here at Saffron's. Basic human rights? No way! Masks off from service staff too. Its like CO-VID never happened! A whole other plague or something behind that bar. Also, there's a rat.

This is just the right place for a family or friends evening out specially during the weekend, The atmosphere is nice and amusing, the service is very polite but on the slow side though, the salads are fresh and the toppings are on the right amount, the main courses are delicious specially the chicken wrap, many delicious and numerous cocktails.

I can hardly wait until the owner of this place finally runs this business into the dirt. Go onto reddit and read the 70+ people who have contributed towards how the owner (John) mistreats staff, abuses employees, doesnt pay entertainers, makes fun of his own son constantly in front of other staff and so forth. The food is terrible (steak sandwich is a Walmart steak on a piece of toast), the place looks like a dump and I find it hilarious how teos is completely packed at night yet there isn't one person at saffrons. Clearly you have no idea how to run a business

Went here for Spirit of Hope Rescue fundraiser. Food was very mediocre. Poutine is not shredded cheese and mediocre gravy. Poutine is cheese curds and a rich beef gravy. Should be gravy and cheese fries.

I went during the 2018 Le Burger Week and was completely unimpressed. 1/4 of the burger patty was under-cooked when served; the server was nonchalant when this was pointed out to her. No consideration when it was time to pay and she even shorted me on the change from a $20 bill!

I ordered the penne carbonara for delivery. When it arrived, it was cold, as though it was already pre-made and sitting there for a long time. The portion was a joke. It looked like somebody’s leftover carbonara, I finished it in a few bites in a matter of minutes. The sauce was watery. I would not recommend this place.

Thanks to friendly staff and good food, I enjoyed my visit to Saffron's. The interior was a bit dim and gloomy though, (at 2pm), and the patio felt cluttered with tables and umbrellas, but it was a good visit anyway. I had a wrap which was surprisingly large, and was very very good. I would definitely visit again

Food wasn't that great. Tasted stale. Really felt they were just passing older stock. My friend ended up being sick the next day. Owner didn't even say anything when we let him know the food was bad. He tried to make our drinks and couldn't even remember to put Tabasco and Worcester sauce in it and did it directly at the table which felt unprofessional. The staff were doing their best trying to help customers but you could tell there was no support from above. I understand covid times are hard but its a far cry from what this place used to be. A few doors down the road, every other places were able to cope. Really sucks that I won't come back as it used to be a favorite spot to go.

I just want to say first and foremost, I am from another province and decided to visit this restaurant just by walking the street. With no reservation or information about Saffron's Restaurant, I am completely under exaggerating that the service and food and response went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend coming here for a night out or just a quick bite to eat. The friendly staff will serve you well and promptly. Only thing to keep in mind and be respectful with is current restrictions. If you have questions, feel free to ask. This restaurant has over 25 years of experience and business and they welcome to all. Thank you to the staff and I will be returning again soon.

I love it on the patio at Saffron's. Lots of people coming and going in the area. Service is quick and all staff are very pleasant and friendly. I had a cedar although it was very spicey I enjoyed it. My hubby had the dark beer and he liked it as well. Our food came out in a timely fashion and was good. I had just a little too much dressing on my Greek salad but it was edible and delicious. I would go back again. Love the area.

They have an ok patio. It looks better than it is. The food is completely mediocre, except the sausage dish -that one is pretty good. Don't expect good service either, the wait staff are inexperienced, slow, and don't have enough water glasses to give you water during the rush. Suggest you bring water from home if you might be thirsty!

Menu is good, very poor service though. Order was taken incorrectly, and the lettuce in the salad was not washed and served dirty (see image). Nice patio with mediocre bar menu, not the best place to go on Corydon, there's much better service and quality elsewhere.

Had a amazing night out with friends our party turned larger then we expected to last minute and our server Amy and the all the hostesses were so helpful. Amy was a amazing server and definitely will be back because of her pleasant experience. Can't wait to meet some more great staff over the summer.

I've found it to be somewhat hit and miss with this place, with food quality, service, and the seating on the patio. The deck on the patio creeks and moves as people walk by and it gets very annoying.

I ordered a chicken souvlaki platter and the tuna ahi bowl on Skip the Dishes tonight from Saffron's. The picture below is what I received. The description on Skip includes a side salad, lemon and multiple skewers, but I received this. One skewer and maybe 20 fries, no salad or anything else that I expected to receive. The ahi bowl was also bad enough that it did not even get finished. Terrible ordering experience. I understand that these are challenging times and I'm trying to support local, but this was so bad I had to make my first ever Google Review. Maybe try another local establishment for your meal.

This place has taken quite a slide over the years. I can remember a bustling patio, bright clams, and chicken kashmir pasta. Came here for lunch this week and the place is rundown. Junk in boxes in the lounge, dated and worn patio furniture, a manager that I couldnt tell if worked there or not with his tie on and shirt not tucked in. The lunch itself was decent, I had the burger with an upcharge to poutine. The burger was not huge, but actually very flavourful and the poutine acceptable. The problem was the price and no lunch specials. If you are upcharging $2.50 for a poutine, I need to feel like you are giving me at least that portion of cheese and gravy, but it was a pretty underwhelming scoop of gravy given, to a paltry serving of fries. No problem, lunch portions should be smaller, but to get these small portions a lunch should not be 20$ unless it is truly something special. For $20 this is a below average lunch in terms of flavor and value.

We have been there for paint nite event and we only had a few drinks so I cannot speak of the food. The whole establishment though is in desperate need of renovations. I am not sure when it was last taken care but it has to be many many years ago and it shows. The location is very good and I am sure that taking care of this place would make it more attractive.

Very poor service. I went with a friend of mine. the waitress was continuously giving us the opposite of what we had ordered. She was was very rude and arrogant . I prefer spending my money somewhere where teh servers would at least be respectful. Extremely disappointed!

I go to Saffron's on Friday or Saturday nights for karaoke and I always enjoy my time there a lot! All types of singing ability, no judgement and everyone is always encouraging! Jacqui is the best!

Me and my husband went to have our anniversary dinner there for the 1st time. We liked their patio. The service was alright but the food was terrible except the nachos. We just had single bite off chicken souvlaki and the veggie burger I ordered because it seemed stale. I think it's good place for drinks only.

Waited for ever to get drinks. Quality of food is below average at best. Facility is outdated. Waiters were terrible, stayed for karaoke and waiter didn't show up for an hour. Went to the bar to get the bill, bartender told me to wait, never got it.

I went with a friend the other day for a beer and something to eat on their patio but unfortunately that didn't quite happen. I had a spicy Penne Bomb but all it consisted of was some penne with chili flakes and Franks Red Hot with whole soggy chicken filets thrown in. I was going to order a drink but when I saw that my friends lemonade was just some badly mixed powder drink I stuck with the water. The service was awful even though they had people standing around but apparently their only job was too remove plates and usher people off the patio. I really don't mean that sarcastically as the entire time I was there all they did was stand or do laps around the patio looking for stuff to remove so people would leave quicker. Finally it costs as much as nearby Buccacino's (the ironically named Penne Bomb was $17) which serves similar food but they have a nicer patio, food, service and decor so that's where the comparison stops. Simply put the food is over priced, tastes like they just throw it together and there are a dozen other patios on Corydon to choose from so you're not missing anything by passing here.

I was warned about eating here as I was told it is very taxed but I was hungry and thought I'd stop by. I dined inside and was not a fan of the dark dingy atmosphere, I had to use the flaslight app to look through my purse. It took 15-20 minutes to get my drink order taken and over 40 minutes to get my food as no one really seemed to pay me any attention. I had ordered fish tacos with a side salad but was brought side fries instead. I mentioned it to one of the servers who loudly says to my server "apparently she wanted a salad." In the service industry you don't use words like "apparently" as it makes it seem like you are insinuating the customer is lying. My server came back to my table and said "you wanted a salad?" and I said "Yes, that's what I ordered." The salad came out quickly and was actually the best part of the exerience sadly. The fish tacos were the worst I've ever had, the fish was small and dry while the batter is thick, soggy and tastes like oil with the weird toppings like carrots in there. I took my server's suggestion on the drink which I did not particularly enjoy as well (Blue vodka lemonade drink?) The staff were a lot more attentive after the salad mishap which I appriecated but then at the end something weird happened, I asked for my bill and a box and the server came back to my table and said "the bill"s in your box here" .... I'm sorry but why would I want the bill you touched in the box where my food is going to go... *face palm* The one other time I came in for patio, we ordered lemon drops and it was rimmed with salt inside of sugar!!! Just a bad experience everytime I go. I would have rather waited in line for Bar I than wait 40 minutes for bad service

The food is ok and the location is amazing, but they ran the bill through twice on my card on two separate occasions. If you want someone to steal from you, go to Saffrons.

We held an event for 20 plus people. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed themselves and work for us. Handicapped accessible and parking was a huge plus. Central location and nice to find a place during the week.

Take the location and outdoor patio away and this is unfortunately a restaurant & bar that is in need of a major overhaul. Has all the potential to be one of the best patios in the city, but it’s a run down spot.

I came for dinner with a few friends before paint night and the food was awesome! We had sangria (which is the best in the city) and shared a few appetizers, pizza and pasta they have improved a lot over the years and paint night was a lot of fun! Will be back for sure

Went here for a paint night... Arrived an hour before the painting began, my meal arrived 20 minutes into the painting. I had to wedge my plate between my neighbour's and my easel. I think we got an apology for the slow food (all 4 of us), but no discount, no offer to make up for it. The food was good, thus the second star instead of just a one. Pick up the pace, please. It really wasn't that busy there, and even if it was, you knew months ahead of time there would be a paint night for that evening.

I’ll NEVER go back to this place again! The “manager!!!” was not only TOO RUDE while asking my friend to change his seat because of the Covid safety, but also wasn’t keeping his social distance with us as he touched my friend’s arm and talked with him directly to his face! What kind of safety it is?!?!?! When we complained about his behavior and told him about the bad reviews that we are going to write, he said I’m the owner of this place and I don’t care about the reviews at all!!!! I wish I could rate this place with a ZERO star! I’ll NEVER recommend this restaurant to anybody!

I really do not know why they don't organize the sitting area for social distance ahead. I was there with my friend about an hour, they came to us twice to move our seats. First time, they excused us to sit other side of table, because we were close to other customers, even though we came before them. After my friend and I sat down other side, really...less than 10min, other staff asked us to move Again, because they wanted to close the table. I hope they did with a good reason, Not because I am Asian seriously. But unfortunately I have got a negative impression from them, as they never asked other customers to move around the restaurant. Shame.

I had ordered a fettuccine alfredo. It was the smallest portion I had ever seen in my life. I complain to the manager about the size of my meal and he said "I guess the plates are really big so it looks small" he said that they gave me the regular 8 oz portion and 4 oz of chicken for $27. Nodles and sauce....nothing more. No I'm sorry or nothing. I could have ordered a second portion and eaten that as well.

Sat outside which was wonderful. Had their burger. Definitely a good size but the price and with just fries was too much, plus they charge for each refill. Staff were good and attentive.

Love Saffrons ❤ on Corydon, Great food & drinks, Rib special is a good bang for the buck, big size portion, pasta dishes & pizza all homemade Karaoke is a good time Friday& Saturday nights. If you are in need of a good night out I highly recommend Saffrons.

The portion I got on ubereats was extremely small the sauce was gross the noodles weren't cooked properly the chicken was burnt so not only was the portion small for the food that I got but it was $25 for something I could have paid less than 10 to make it home and I would have had a lot better quality food.

The food was good, but it was an uncomfortable overall experience. The restaurant didn't seem properly set up for social distancing. The server was friendly, but, didn't respect our space, and stood very close to us without a mask. I couldn't wait to get out of there. It was the most uncomfortable experience I've had in a restaurant during COVID-19.

Food was average. My lemonade cocktail I ordered had Clamato juice in it and I complained immediately. Still made me pay full price. Not good as some people have severe sea food allergies !!!! Very unprofessional. The waitresses fly was undone.

My first time at Saffron’s! Terrible service! There are ABSOLUTELY NO MASKS worn or kept in storage in the restaurant, says our waitress when I asked her to please wear her mask. She was arrogant and rude. She was also not willing to accommodate for my food preferences. She asked me to remove jalapeños by myself when my burger came. It seemed that the restaurant put zero effort in maintaining social distancing and Covid policies. First and last time going to this restaurant!

My husband and I stopped in for a glass of wine and some appetizers this afternoon. The service was very good and the food - shrimp I a wine/butter sauce and calamari- was fabulous. The best calamari in Winnipeg hands down

We were about to make another good night and memory with our friends at Safforn’s restaurant until the manager came to us and asked my friend to go and sit on the other side of table because he was close to another table (because of covid-19 regulations). But the manager was standing just next to my friend without any social distancing and was touching my friend’s shoulder. He was saying “I don’t wanna pay 2500$ fine”. No respect!!!! So rude!!!! But the waitress was good! She apologized for that situation, but her manager said “I don’t care about your reviews and comments”. Such a rude person!!!!! ????????????????????????

Amazing food. The neoplitian pizza is perfection the goat cheese adds amazing flavor. They have the best pina coladas in my opinion. Staff are super friendly and accommodating as I was dining with someone with a dairy allergy. They made sure his chili chicken wrap was dairy free (comes with cheese but removed it and confirmed all condiments were dairy free)

We had a really nice time. Calamari was averaged. Ceasar salad was a 10 along with the chili chicken wontons. Service was great. No refills for pop Fail. It's so cheap for fountain drinks and no refills.
