Was okay. Nice atmosphere and staff was pleasant. My slight issue was the food - I had ordered the Perogies and Sausage (keilbasa). The sausage was dreadful...it didn't taste like keilbassa. It was tasteless and fluffy and dry inside. Very bizarre. I had a bite and didn't touch the rest of it. The waitress took the plate later and never bothered asking how the food was (probably because half was on my plate still and she didn't want to deal with it). For $15, I expected way more, not just with flavour but portion. It should be more of an appetizer than anything for around $8, not $14.95. The huge plate and excessive amount of onions tries to hide the fact that you get about 5 large perogies and a mystery piece of sausage that was gross. Perhaps if I ordered something differently my review would be better. If the waitress asked how the food was, maybe they would have done something about it...based on her actions I don't think they would have. Disappointing.

Felt that the food is good, service is terrible though. We're on a team lunch today, besides it took time to get our orders taken and serve them (and its just with few people on a Monday, 12pm... one server is rude towards our colleague that brought his own lunch due to his personal need. We've been in a couple of restaurants in downtown, he always bring his lunch, but never had asked to take it away and not to eat his food. We're okay with asking us not to eat the outside food he prepared, if the server asked nicely. Unfortunately, she's really rude towards my teammate, commanding him to put away his food, no apologies or whatsoever. I asked why, and she just said, "because you're not supposed to bring outside food here" so my team and i we're puzzled as to why we can't as there's no outside food/drink sign. If explained well and nicely, we would totally understand. Anyway, we'll stay away from this restaurant for the time being.

For the most part the food has always been good and the locationis convenient. They have good food and drink specials and a nice spacious patio. The only downfall is the service has always been iffy. Sometimes slow and hard to get even though the restaurant appears to be empty or sometimes just not the friendliest. Again, that is not always the case, there have been wonderful wait staff on other occasions also.

Had one of our worst visits not only to Rudy's but to any restaurant in a very long time, and we go to a lot of restaurants! It was before a Jet's game, but we have been to Rudy's before a Jet's game many times, and we were watching around us getting a lot better service. Got there just after 5pm, server came over, my GF asked about a radler, she said she would check if they had it on tap, as some times they switch it around, I came in after parking the car at 5:10, server did not come back to take my drink order until 5:30, and by then we ordered food, as we had time. My drink came at 5:45, and server said she didn't have my gf's drink, and she didn't know where it was, server came back at 5:50 saying the bartender remembered pouring it, but didn't know where it went so poured a new one. Our food got there after 6pm, the food was tasty, the GF said they changed her regular menu item around so she didn't really enjoy it, like in the past. Took a while then to get a 2nd beer for me, but we saw others arrive after us get food and drinks a lot quicker. Will hope this is a one off with the server that we had as we don't want to change our regular Rudy's before Jet's Games routine to another place in the area.

Fantastic downtown place to eat. Our waitress Jusstice was absolutely fantastic. Highlight of our visit(s). Highly professional with speech and body language, knows the menu inside & Out. Just watching her serve other parties was a treat seeing how she handle various clientele. She would check up on us regarding how our food is tasting and she would see that we just stuffed our faces full of food and she would ask a yes or no question (which could be answered with a simple nod) and leaves, which is absolutely appreciated by because you don't need to clear your face or look like that guy who's trying to talk with their mouth full. I ordered the BLT wrap both times I went, it came with their signature Russian dressing and it was the best wrap I've ever had. It was stuffed full of bacon the dressing with just enough on the outside it was crunchy was well put together, and a side of fries was very tasty as well. Excellent, although somewhat pricey, dining experience.

Used to be a nice place to go, lately I find the interior is in need of repair with ripped chairs and booths. bathrooms also often find them dirty. I find them to be over priced for the meals and service received. The last time I was there was the worst service I have received ordered a chicken Caesar salad and garlic toast, when the server brought out my food I received my salad no toast, when I reminded the server I had ordered it in case she forgot since I expected to come together her response was, “well I only have 2 hands” I was taken aback by this as I was not trying to be obnoxious only thought maybe it got left behind or the kitchen had forgotten it. Very rude!

Unless it is happy hour or you restrict yourself to the daily specials (not available on event days), everything is quite overpriced. Service was generally poor; one member of our group waited 20 minutes for a drink, and then it was wine instead of beer. As a final note, I did not order one, so it might just be a menu error, but the menu says they make an Old Fashioned with sweet vermouth...

Went with four of my friends and all of us were less then pleased with our food. We should have known what we were getting ourselves into when even the server said the food was not their favourite. I had a wrap as well as my one friend, the others had nachos, pasta, and ribs. The service was mediocre and the food was overpriced for what we got. My two friends ordered the wine because it was on special for $5, but the server charged them both full price because the server got them a 9oz instead of the special, even though that’s what they ordered. As well my friend and I both had a side Caesar salad, but were not informed it would be extra. When ordering our side the server simply said “you can have a choice of fries, house salad or Caesar.”, it would have been much appreciated if he would have said “the Caesar salad would be $1.95 extra”. I always hear about Rudy’s on the radio, but I don’t think it’s anything special.

We had a party of 20 that I booked almost a month in advance... we got there and we were all separated.. THERE WAS ONLY 1 SERVER FOR OUR PARTY who did not care to take care of us im assuming because auto grat was on our bills so he gets tipped out no matter if he does his job or not. We ordered tacos and all the time we askes for something it was $1 more but that says nothing on the menus. It truly was the worst experience at a restaurant I've ever had. I called to talk to the owner and the manager insisted I talk to him and just said sorry please dont write us off.... that does nothing.. my opinion worst restaurant... vad service

Hands down best down town patio, prefect place to have a drink with your meal. They have a wide selection of draft beers and fun cocktails. I highly advise you to get the mushroom soup. Which is finished with truffle oil. Such a treat for the fungus food fans ????

Well a group of us friends decide to try something new as we we going to a fundraiser down town Winnipeg so so friends told us about Rudys well the first impressions being a Saturday at 6 there was 2 people in the restaurant and a waitress and a bartender service was some what slow. There was believe it or not things on the menu that they didnt have which blew my mind so dinner was out and drinks and appetizers was it no sorry just a bill. No one was tbinking they would go back sorry Rudy's......

Good food, friendly service but we were seated on the lounge side, which didn't seam like a problem until a large group of young people came in - literally yelling and pouring beer down each others throats. My chair kept being bumped by people trying to do this and there were people on their knees in the aisle waiting for pitchers of beer to be served to them. I'm sorry, but I am all for having a good time in an appropriate venue - but not in a lounge. The manager did not seam bothered by this and when he asked us how our meal was I told him it was good but that it got really loud, to which he replied "ya, kinda killed the romance..." And then something to the effect of "but what can do?" - ummm, a simple apology would have gone a long way there buddy. We can't afford to eat out much, so this was a big date night for me and my husband - and it was a huge disappointment. We couldn't have a conversation over the yelling - you knew it was out of control - you should have said sorry.

when today with some colleagues for a birthday. Had a great time the atmosphere is nice to little bit busy at lunch hour and kind of noisy but it does feel cozy. We had some great food and really good and prompt service. The lettuce wraps that I had were delicious and I would recommend them to anybody there full flavor plenty of food to eat and just a tad spicy..two of my friends had the reuben sandwich and felt it was a little bit more cheese than meat this time and therefore a little on the greasy side but overall they did enjoy it and it looked like a delicious grilled.my other colleague had the spicy Thai Dish and it was similar to my lettuce wrap but in a wrap form and they enjoyed it very much although they said it was quite Spicy..

We went as a group here for Poutine week. This was not my favorite poutine, however it was a great hit with some others in my party. It was a slow roasted Piri piri chicken with a tangy gravy, cheese curds and sharp cheddar. Smoky, sweet grilled pickled peppers, scallions, cilantro, cherry tomatoes and creme fraiche. There was dueling pianos as free entertainment when we went. The service was for the most part very good (it depends on your server and we were served by 2). Parking is downtown parking. Its a bit problematic, but if you don't mind walking, there is a parking garage nearby.

The decor on the restaurant side leaves something to be desired, but the bar and patio are both excellent, the food is on point, and there is a good drink variety. The menu with a pig cutting itself in half strikes me as weird every time.

First time being to Rudy’s, we went before a jets game and I took some business clients of mine. The atmosphere was great and the food even better. You will want to make a reservation on game nights or get there really early. Didn’t know this hidden gem even existed. Found my new place to go. My clients enjoyed their meals and drinks as well.

We went on Sat night to see the dueling pianos with a group of 8 people. There were $5 off bottles of wine and we got the Giorgio & Gianni pinot grigio which was really lovely and smooth. There was also the date night Saturdays special: appetizer, 2 super club entrees, and a dessert for $55. Really great value. Got the onion rings for the appy which were amazing! There are hand made there. I got the lamb shank for my entree and my partner got the chicken cordon blue. The lamb was very tender and the vegetables and mashed potatoes served with it are in a delicious sauce. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with a garlic mash and streamed vegetables. The butter tart for dessert was very tasty and the perfect way to end off the meal. The pianists performing were incredible!! They took requests and created a great atmosphere.

Very difficult to find anything on the menu that accommodates my allergies, and no offer to modify any of their dishes. My partner, with different allergies, found safe food somewhat more easily. The plain hamburger I wound up with was good, but not good value. Extremely loud music - could not have a conversation with the person sitting across from me without yelling, and could not hear the wait staff. Decent alcohol selection, well-curated, no complaints there. Service was attentive.

We went to the Last Friday Night Market at Manitoba Hydro Place on June 29. There were not as many vendors as usual. We hope there will be more in July. We stopped for a light supper on the patio at Rudy's. The food was really good but the service was very slow.

Ultimately, a disappointment. Judging this restaurant by it's looks, I feel compelled to give them credit and assume that other dishes would have won me over. This place is funky as hell, with a large, unique retro-multimedia display covering one end of the restaurant, and clever use of recycled furnishings and materials throughout. The interior design here is impeccable, and goes nicely with the friendly (and attractive) service. Great soundtrack too. I could be lured back to give it another go. But I won't order the Rudy's Special, a Ricotta Gnocchi topped with crispy onions (aren't crispy onions getting a tad bit old now?). It was certainly delicious, and if I had maybe twice as much I would have been content. This dish is a lunch-sized portion, at $16.95. Not even an interesting presentation to make you forget what it cost... far too minimal. What this dish could use (other than being larger) is some fresh baked bread. That would have been enough to save it. I found myself looking at the menu again after I had finished it, and I left basically still hungry. I want to give Rudy's a higher rating, but I can't get over what I paid and what I got.

55 minutes from the time we ordered to when the food finally came during regular lunch rush. I asked for the food to be boxed up, as I needed to get back to work. The server took the food and proceeded to stop and talk at another table beside us. I left the restaurant five minutes after that and he was still speaking with the other table. We were offered desert as compensation for the wait, which would only prolong the lunch even longer. I'm surprised a downtown restaurant doesn't understand that the majority of their customers have to return to work in a timely fashion. This was my first time going to Rudy's and I won't be going back.

Too sunny. We asked to be seated in the back so that the sun wouldn't be in our eyes and the maitre-di said no and was rude about it. They didn't even have blinds. However, we had an excellent server and the food was good. I would only go back in the evening.

Went for a work function. Hors d'oeuvre selection was sparse and confusing. They had a list of foods I assumed would be out, but never saw them. The nacho platter was a plate of tortilla chips surrounding a mass of sour cream. Not really appetizing.

The food here is awesome and the service is quite exceptional. The only problem is the chairs you have to climb up to in order to sit on. They're awkward to use, and you can never scooch (that's a word, right?) your chair in closer to the table without risking your life and the life if those around you.

The first time I went to Rudy's, I was impressed. The second time I went, I was incredibly disappointed and I will never go there again. Firstly, I ordered a chopped ramen salad, but surprisingly I found there was pork in it when this was never indicated on the menu. Afterward, the waitress told me she thought I had ordered the spicy prawn chow mien, which was what I was served. I was absolutely mortified, as I don't eat pork. Additionally, the customer service was mediocre. We repeatedly had to ask for water refills, and another patron at my table was given the wrong size of salad instead of what she had originally ordered. I will DEFINITELY not go back there again.

We ordered the Rudy's special burger and steak sandwich for lunch. The burger was tasty but not good value for the money. The Keg burger at 16.00 is far superior. The steak sandwich at 19.00 was lousy value since the steak was a poor cut with lots of grissle. We shared the bread pudding which was very good but have no desire to go back. Not recommended.

Excellent service. Medium-pricey, but solid value for dollar. Very good selection of taps and spirits, very good daily specials. Strong choice for a working lunch or dinner; their food is very, very good. I especially recommend the calamari diablo and the schnitzel sandwich called the "German engineering."

dip was so cold that it kept breaking the kettle chips - but it tasted very good. buffalo chicken burger was awful, overcooked and tasted like it was cooked in old grease, and was smothered in too much sriracha (def not buffalo sauce). I couldn't get halfway through it. gravy tasted like it came from a can. fries were your standard freezer fries. Some other people at my table liked their dishes though. Server looked like he didn't wanna be there but I wouldn't wanna be either.

After going several times, I feel safe in saying it is a really nice place to eat downtown. Love the Rudy's burger, and I love how you can add an egg to it. Let it just drizzle all over those fries. Also the chicken fingers are freaking great. The drink menu is probably the only thing I'd like to see change a bit, maybe a few more dark beer choices, but I may not be the majority on that, and a Keith's Dark is not a bad alternative to Guinness. I wish those were not the only options though.

Rudy's food is quite good. I've had desserts there that were good and other people had both mains and appetizers that they enjoyed. However the last two times I was there the service was terrible. It took forever to order, then a long time to get our drinks and food. Some orders didn't even get put into the system. We were one of only 4 tables there!

Good food, but the service has been very slow the last 2 times I've visited. And I wasn't in a rush. It took 10 minutes for someone to even visit our table and get our drink order, and then she was so rushed she turned away before I had time to ask a question about the menu. I had initially only ordered water to drink and it took another 15 minutes to have her return with water, and ask for our food order.
