Right now this firm gets a rating of 4.4 over 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is quite high, and it is based on a very high number of opinions, so we can conclude that the valuation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Night Club corresponds to the category of Pub.
Always great drinks and pub style food. I've never been disappointed. Order a Bud Light at your own risk.
The King's Head is a classic pub. It has such a great pub feel inside. The staff are very polite and provide excellent service. The food is top notch! Even though they have been shut down the King's Head is still offering delivery City Wide. I will keep ordering my King's Head favourites, and look forward till the day we can all be welcomed back in for that authentic pub experience that only the King's Head can provide. Here's to a better tomorrow!
We got there shortly before closing and it was packed for a week night! The bartenders were super busy but they still made time to get us our drinks as soon as they could! They even came and got rid of some of the glassware clutter at out table! A+ service
The food was good lots of flavors but the wings are small
Lance has the best taste in music and also hair. I will come back just for the music. And hair. And also Hughie who is not lance but they’re both good is a good bartender. Lance had exceptional service skills for a lowly bar back and his take on modern politics is fantastic. Love this guy. Actually both these guys. Great bar
Best pub in town, hands down. Fun after work, and extra fun on the weekends. Head to the third floor for live music!
Kings head is one of my favourite pubs. It's classic English style, great pub food and amazingly wide on tap beer selection is reason enough for me to keep coming back. Anytime I'm downtown just looking to drink this is always one of the first places that comes to my mind. It can be really really loud in here, the acoustics are set to echo constantly and aggressively. Also, Order the curry fries. It's an off menu secret. But they are to die for.
Quality beers, solid vibe, definitely check it out
Not the best wings I've had, super small and crispy. Nice environment, felt like someone was going to task me on a quest. Staff was friendly...
Very good atmosphere and the staff is amazing and very friendly.
Fantastic spot. Great service if you're vocal. Good beer selection and cool vibes. They have killer bands plus pool and darts. Lots of TVs to watch the big games. I've been coming here for years and I've yet to have an issue. Cheers!!!
Service was good, bartender was friendly, drinks were reasonably priced and they had a large selection of beers on tap. Fun environment with lots of TVs to watch games.
Food was great, service was better than expected for a pub and the atmosphere is cool. My only complaint is that the pool table on the main floor is placed too close to some nearby tables. I will definitely be coming back here.
Kingshead is a Winnipeg staple. Great drinks at the two bars and a super friendly atmosphere. Everyone always seems to be looking to have fun and make friends at Kings. My favourite bar in the city.
Had a really good time here last night(Jan 19th) The live band killed it. They had the dance floor going wild! The fries I ordered were kind of meh but that's cause I prefer an extra crispy fry while these were pretty soft potatos so mileage will vary. The gravy was really good though. Not overly thin or thick just perfect for dipping. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place they nailed the pub style and the multilevel nature of the building adds to it in a great way. Solid 4 stars
Ordered the sheppards pie that was so grossly salty. After 2 bites i got up and told the waitress if i wanted a salt lick i would carry one. My husband bagged his sandwich cuz i refused to order something else and walked out. Was very disappointed to say the least. First and LAST time we ever dine here. Do not recommend to anyone!!
Best bar in Winnipeg! Peter and Chris are the best in the business and they have friendly, competent staff. AMAZING butter chicken poutine. Wish I could give The King's Head a higher rating. Love love love.
The King's Head was pretty good, I went there for the lunchtime buffet. The only downside is that their selection isn't very large, but the food does make up for it as it's really good. The staff are also friendly and welcoming, and the pub itself is alright inside. They didn't have the football on, but they get points for having scarves up on the wall (even if they're somewhat dated. All in all it's a nice little reminder of home.
Good food and drink along with great service
the food was totla garbage... ordered nachos and i got the worst stomach pain... it was saggy and the salsa looked like they dropped tomoatos on the floor & stompped on them.. if you want to go somewhere for some nice bar food. i do not suggest here.
Really enjoy the staff and large selection of beers. Always have a variety of bands. Central down town location in a neat area! Great pub grub too :)
Great place. Friendly atmosphere and good food for a decent price. Has a great patio with a staff that is very accepting of dogs (they have to stay outside the patio fence, but the table is right beside the patio fence so you basically get to sit beside your dog).
Lovely place! I bet the best atmosphere of Winnipeg is here.
Kings head is a definite stop and staple place on Winnipeg. They have a great location in the heart of the Exchange District. The selection of beers is great and the food menu is great as well. All thought you would not think it if your a curry fan the curry menu is definitely for you here .A must try. The building is very cool as well. Unfortunately like most Winnipeg places the outdoor patio is never big enough. But it's a great hang out if you can get a seat.
We enjoyed stellar food and service for lunch. The butter chicken roti was huge and delicious. Service was attentive and fun.We felt so safe eating here because we knew everyone in the pub had to show their vaccine cards and ID. Love it!!!
A popular place for Winnipeg firefighters to have their retirement parties. Always extremely accommodating. I am a fan of their widest selection of beer on tap.
Well not a good place. The vibe, the look, the staff - all work to make the place just terrible. Been dragged there so many times by others, always hopeful that the experience would be better than last time. And it never is. Just a dump of a place. Save your money for more worthy establishments in Winnipeg. Sara
Great beer selection. Good food. Great atmosphere. Can't beat a place like this.
Been interesting seeing this place grow in their lifetime. Nice selection of beer. Food is average . But the atmosphere is nice
Just recently spent my daughters birthday here. You really need to check out the live band action upstairs or if that isn't your scene there is always the lower level for a few quiet drinks and some darts. ????
Manager completely unprofessional. He found bottle on bar floor and blamed us without cause. He took our beer, yelled at us and kicked 8 girls out. Will never go back.
My server was super friendly and efficient. The whole staff really seems to work as a team and multiple people came to check on me. The bacon Mac and cheese and the side fixings were very tasty and they had a lovely selection of beers.
Phoned up 24 hours before World Cup to see if bar was showing it. Answer was yes. Show up and they ask where is your reservation? Explained that we called and were not told about reservations. No help from doorman who was brusque and then ignored us. Amateur hour.
One of the long time watering hole in Winnipeg. Always a great place to meet up with friends for a drink or two.
The server was a scrawny guy with glasses, and he sucked. He didn't give us his name, when my wings were dry and way overcooked he just took them away, didn't offer to get me new ones or anything he just took them and disappeared. HOWEVER, a nice guy with an accent who worked the bar took excellent care of us. He asked if I'd like new wings or anything else and replaced them with a delicious Shepard's pie hassle free and with a smile. Unlike that garbage server he checked back in to see if everything was okay and made the experience better.
I attended an event at the King's Head this Friday, as part of a larger group. The person who organized the event, who was not connected with the King's Head, came over and asked us how everything was. In the midst of a friendly conversation with him, we talked about the nachos we had ordered and how disappointed we were with them; small portion, bare minimum of ingredients with not very much cheese. We weren't planning on saying anything but just decided to eat them as they weren't inedible, just boring. Also, we were having a fun evening and didn't want to ruin it by the stress of complaining about food. I guess the person we talked to told the owner and he came over to our table. Keep in mind, we did not seek him out, we didn't ask for a refund or different food or anything like that, he came of his own accord. I have no idea what his intention was for even coming over other than to basically say something close to "too bad your food is blaa, and not only am I not going to do anything about it but I think I'll be arrogant at the same time". I don't remember his exact wording but he was dismissive and obviously couldn't care less about our negative experience. He made some comment about it just being nachos. If I had known the restaurant felt that putting effort into making nachos taste good was not worth their time I would've ordered something else, especially since it was $16.50 for a little tiny portion. All that he focused on was that they weren't hot and that we should've said something about that, totally dismissing/ignoring our comments about the scanty toppings. A shout out to the friendly bartender I had though. I'm not a fan of beer and he made me a cocktail of his own design that was so good I had more than one! I would give him 5 stars but not the King's Head.
Food was eatable.... Bear was fine. We had bread pudding for desert. It was dry....
Inaccessible to people with wheelchairs - sometimes they offer the beer ramp, but the bathroom is inaccessible as is the second floor. Their inadequate training around accessibility was satirized in a sketch by Strokes of Genius.
Band was great. Drinks were pricey but the service was reasonably quick. The floor upstairs seems a little scary when the whole crowd is lively on the d-floor - definitely moving up and down with the weight, but I have faith their engineers have the whole weight bearing thing under control. Pretty fun to bounce the floor while rocking out to a solid Irish band.
This is a great local Winnipeg pub. It's a fun spot that is often filled with locals and long time King's Head Pub patrons. The drinks are exactly what you'd expect and the food is ok pub food.
My first visit to the King's Head. Had a great time! Despite being very busy I was served very quickly. The staff appear to enjoy working there. Very nice !
Great atmosphere and owner is always fighting for small businesses. Great spot miss fringing with a curry and beer.
Always a great environment. The Cajun Chicken Pasta is my go to dish every time I go. It's got a solid sweat inducing bit of heat to it, but in a more slice and not pepper related comfortable way.
Best pub in Winnipeg. Huge selection of on tap beer. Great food. Super awesome environment. Great live music.
I just had my post wedding drinks and appies there. The hospitality they showed was unreal. It was absolutely amazing and perfect. Chris the bartender was such an awesome host. Thank you so much for everything.
They used to carry authentic English beer. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Not sure if it's a supply chain issue or not, but was disappointed that I couldn't get my Harp or Double Diamond beers.
Food and atmosphere were nice. $15 for a single skewer of chicken souvlaki was kinda sad though
Friendly staff, great food and reasonably priced!! Love this place area it's in!
Nice place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Good beer (didn’t try the food) and somewhere I would definitely come back to ????
Great atmosphere, especially if you don't mind loudness! But hey, that's what a pub is all about. Out of the many pubs I've been to, the Cajun Chicken pasta meal I had was second to none - loved it - fabulous - I want to go back and get more! Our waitress was amazing as well, very attentive and pleasant!
????...SUPER VENUE... ???? Great Patio (if you can get a seat) to watch Winnipeg walk by. Inside was comfortable, service good & friendly with a great selection of Beers available. Thoroughly enjoyed the 'Scotch Eggs'....???? The two 'Curries' my companions had (and much lauded about) were, in my opinion, pretty bland... .....living in India for the past ten years gives me a jaundiced view on that one....???? sorry ???? It was pretty busy all day with the clientele getting younger as the evening progressed. Every night there appears to be some form of Entertainment upstairs. Personally I was more than happy with the afternoon and early evening experience (either outside or downstairs). ????..PRETTY GOOD ALL ROUND..????
Great old style English pub with pool and darts. There are dozens of beers on tap, live music and plenty of TVs to watch the game. It the summer you can sit on the patio and enjoy what ever is happening at the old market Square (The Cube).
A Peg city staple. Great food, like REALLY great. We (The Bloodshots) have always been treated great by staff when we play there. Try the bangers.
They changed from pub fries to crispy fries, enough said. Reply to Owner: If you don't know the difference you shouldn't be in the restaurant business. Is the King's Head under new ownership or management? Did the kitchen staff change recently? You know what King's Head's fries were like in the past, a nice dark brown, thicker cut, softer fries? Those are pub fries. Those rock hard, thin chewy fries you now sell are crispy fries. Reply to owner (again): You have the most childish responses to unsatisfied customers that I've ever seen. I rarely give low reviews to restaurants, and if I do I get good feedback from the owners and even the 'we're sorry you didn't like your food, contact us and we'll do what we can to make things better'. I've even changed reviews in the past based on good healthy conversations with owners. Your attitude actually explains my last experience at King's Head, where the waiter gave the wrong burger to one of the people in our party and didn't bring out food for one of the other people with us. There were no apologies and the waiter seemed annoyed that he had to correct his mistakes. I'd like to thank you for your continuous immature responses, they are very entertaining. If you truly do care about your reviews you should consider not getting into a war of words with customers reviewing your establishment. A simple 'I'm sorry you didn't like your food, is there anything we can do to make your next visit more enjoyable?' might be a good place to start. If you would like me to create a 2nd review for the poor service my friend had the other time we were there I could do that for you if that makes it easier to focus on one of your restaurant's issues at a time. Let me know and I can get that sorted out for you.
Who doesn't love the kings head? Great bar, staff is always working hard and the live bands have been amazing.
Tried their burger week special, very good! but the atmosphere is very loud and I would not recommend it if you want to speak to who you are with.:
Got overcharged multiple times. Last time it happened I paid, and the server told me it didn’t go through. I opened my credit card app to show her that my credit card was charged but she told me that it still didn’t go through. She took my card and swiped it herself without my permission. Never got the money back that I got overcharged.
I, along with my significant other & friends, LOVE Kings Head! This is a usual hangout spot for many of my varied groups. I have attended a few live music events here, paint nites, stopped in for a drink, as well as had some crazy nights here. There’s always characters in this place. Met lots of cool people here. There’s darts, pool tables, usually live music, a delicious menu & friendly servers. You know how microwaved leftover fries always suck? Try the curry fries here, take some home & reheat them. The best ever. ????????
It's fun, but it is always so loud (just the way the bar is built I suppose). Even without music playing, I find I have to yell for my friends to hear me. Service isn't the best, but I don't go to a pub and expect a high-end restaurants service. The last time I went, they had screwed up the order of two of my friends food, and when they were made aware of the problem they did not seem happy to help.
Love the Beef Vindaloo, in fact I actually crave it at times. Always friendly service and if you are into different beers, this is your place!
A great old fashion British pub in the heart of the city of Winnipeg. I really enjoyed the authenticity of the design in the pub. The staff were friendly and nice.
Awesome pub live music is normally good and if you think it's to loud you almost can't hear the music on the main floor but the place is always loud. The food is good for a pub and the pool tables are awesome. The beer selection is good. Good place to hang out with friends.
A great neighborhood watering hole. Hit this spot up before a game or concert...or after. Won't disappoint.
I had the Big Kahuna burger, which was very good. I received good service, and the pub is well decorated with football memorabilia and such. Overall a good experience.
Long time patron of this pub... always serves delicious food and a huge assortment of beer on tap. I Definitely suggest the butter chicken poutine, totally worth it!
Good food and reasonably priced. Good atmosphere and staff. Nice place to chill and talk with friends. Loud as hell during weekends.
I am a visitor to Winnipeg and a friend brought me to the Kings Head to try the curry. All I can say is WOW. I am very impressed. The food was amazing and the beer was great. 10/10 would recommend..A must stop for pub crawlers! Thanks guys!
Good curry and beer!
A fantastic and iconic pub in Winnipeg's beautiful and historic exchange district. A must for casual drinks, pub grub, a big night, or date. They have a huge array of beers on tap - local, domestic, and international brews! And they serve up some great cocktails. Service is awesome and seems like staff wants to be there. Highly recommend.
Love this place! Service is great, food delicious and atmosphere inviting! 5/5
Awesome drinks and food. Had the Cajun chicken pasta and Cesar salad. Creamy sauce with tender chicken and perfectly cooked pasta, and was just the right amount of spicy! Ate on the patio, covid rules were followed, heating lamp, good music, server and staff were delightful, food came quick and was delicious!
Great place for both pub food and Indian food. They are one of the few places to have both Guinness and Kilkenny on tap and nothing compares to those straight from the keg ????
Great food at reasonable prices. Was there for the curry lunch buffet. Fantastic! Lots of different craft beers also. Upper level has live entertainment also.
So nice to be able to get back to one of my favourite restaurants!
Great beer, great food, great service. Stop by fairly often and its consistently good.
I consider the King's Head a dive bar. It has your standard selection of drinks, nothing fancy and pub food. Everything could use an update inside and out, but then it would probably get rid of the character which would be a shame so I understand why they just leave it as is. Good crowd and fast/friendly service. **Edit since response from owner; Unfortunately my review was read in a negative tone without positive intentions being assumed. I gave this establishment a (high) 4 star rating, but now feel the need to be clear on the details I provided in case anyone else reading made the same assumptions; 1. I stick by my definition of dive bar. I love dive bars. I also looked up the definition of dive bar which would be "comfortable-but-basic neighbourhood pub" and agree whole heartedly that this is the best definition of the King's Head. I know several people that would agree. 2. There is character in the building, but I still think further updates need to be done. Personal opinion and never said it had to be fancy. In fact any updates would have to be very carefully thought out because, like I said, it might ruin the character and that would be a shame. However, floors were just sticky and worn from use (understandable) and there are lots of nicks and chips that could probably be patched. It's a well loved institution and because of that it needs more small fix-its then most establishments.
I love the food here! Great flavour and quality. Also, this is one of the best places to drink and dance in person. Now is the time to support so we can drink and party when the pandemic is over. Also, get a bottle of hot sauce, very tasty
Staff was very unprofessional in conduct saying things like "you need to move the f*** out of the way" or "get moving you animals" for no reason. Nobody was holding them up for a significant amount of time and in fact were trying to clear a path. I understand when people are obnoxiously intoxicated it can be irritating but me and my two other friends were sober and finally decided to leave because these staff members were so rude and created an unwelcoming environment. As well, staff should not be acting in such a manner under any circumstances. We do not plan on returning anytime soon especially since there is nothing special anyways to draw us back.
Great service, staff are helpful and knowledgeable, awesome food and the beer selection is the best.
Had mixes service here.... With one visit we waited for ages to be acknowledged. The next night we had great service from an engaging server, so hit & miss.
I was sitting in Old Market Square staring at the patio. There were some happy guests and those full pints were glistening. I wanted to join, but vaccine cards were needed and my guest wasn't prepared. Until next time!
Love dropping in at the King's Head. This place is an institution in the exchange district. They have grown over the years but still has the traditional feeling and solid service. Wether to go with friends for a pint ot watch football or darts and pool. Place for parties or Christmas gatherings. You cant go wrong here. You haven't lived in Winnipeg until you gone here. Great memories of watching world cup games here.
This is a downtown Winnipeg institution, traditional pub feel, good fish and chips and other pub foods. Pretty good selection of beer on tap. Decent patio in the summer.
Favorite pub in the city. Lots of space, lots of beers on tap, usually good music playing, Cajun Chicken Pasta is incredible.
Not sure what all the hype is about it was my first time there and I wasnt overly impressed. Serving staff were awesome. This place just felt a little dirty for my liking.
Wide selection of beer on tap. Staff are friendly and will get to know your regular order if you visit often enough! :)
Consistent, friendly and delicious food. Thanks to the great staff for making this a local favourite and a "must return to" for folks that have moved from Winnipeg.
Must go if in Winnipeg, but the food is non-existent.
Good food and a fantastic selection of beer on tap.
Love the atmosphere, and the service is top notch... I went in not knowing what I was drinking and the waitress surprised me with a perfect beer
Great service, great beer selection. The Cajun Chicken Pasta is a must have. Ask for extra spicy.
My fav place to go for a beer. Not to mention the curry fries will change your life. We ordered take out on Valentine’s Day. Every where had a 2 hour wait and kings head got us our food hot to our door within 45 minutes of ordering. AMAZING!
Solid neighbourhood pub. Decent food, very nice selection of beers. I just found the music a bit loud as it was hard to hold a conversation and the pool table is oddly front and centre by the bar. Still, a decent pub to share pints.
Always great! Was glad to finally come here again post pandemic. Kept the gift card for a later time - hoping to help get their cash flow going again. Cheers!
Confusing layout and OK bands but finding a restroom involves asking other patrons how to get there. They say they have a wide variety of beer on tap but all I could see were the beers they didn't have. Kind of lame if you're trying to go out for a beer. They also appear to charge cover at random intervals, spoiling any plans you have for the night. Due to the appalling behaviour of the owner I must amend my rating to 1 star and recommend you do not support this establishment.
Great waitress , very friendly and professional. Food arrived fast, was yummy
Love the King’s Head. Some of the best chicken fingers, great beer and a chill atmosphere. Love the weekend bands as well.
Super casual and friendly place to grab a pint and eat Indian or English pub grub. Great selection of beers!
It's the Kings Head, don't expect table service in the evening. Grab your drinks from the bar. They have lots of good food and drinks. A great night spot.
This pub is top notch. Their covid procedures, service, clean environment, food and drinks are all top quality. We felt so safe going here for lunch. Big shout out to Peter, our server and Raj who thoroughly checked our covid cards and …
I've been going to the King's Head for 20+ years. I absolutely love the staff, the beer selection and the atmosphere. On my last visit I was disappointed to see they swapped out their delicious pub fries for crispy ones similar to what I've had at KFC. Would love to get those high quality traditional pub fries back!
Awesome. Fun. All ages. Met cool people.
Good spot, good food, great drink selection. My only grief is they always play strictly dad rock. This place has a killer trendy location, but caters exclusively to those over 50. Even in the middle of jazz Fest in the exchange, you can bet your ass you'll hear brown eyed girl from the live band.
Very tasty steak sandwich with greek salad and great staff! Thanks Winnipeg!
Food was delicious. Whole family was happy. Staff were incredible to deal with. Happy and so helpful. After I'd placed my order online for delivery, I called in a panic because I'd forgotten to add curry fries to my order... Yikes! They were able to add it no problem and were so kind about it. I've also been watching how this incredible business has tried so hard to support their staff through this crazy pandemic, and they give me hope. Not only is the food delicious, they are the best kind of people and I'm proud to support them and will continue to do so. Thank you King's Head. (I can't add photos, because we ate it all to quickly)
Bartenders are fast and very friendly, service is always quick too. Love the live music and pool. Great environment.
Stopped in for a couple of drinks with a friend, who is a regular. People around us were having the Pea Soup. Smelled so good I ordered a bowl myself. Great choice as it was excellent. Service was amazing as well.
Kahuna burger is excellent. I used to like it a lot more when they had the fresh cut fries. Don't bother with the subpar curries. That said, it's still a great pub. The beer selection and live music is great! I suggest going when the Dust Rhinos are playing, they're stellar!
Dinner & drnks at the King’s Head to celebrate St Patrick’s Day! It was super busy yet we were seated right away. High energy throughout the patio and the large interior. Loved the Dropkick Murphy’s show on the TVs, perfect for St Patrick’s day!! Server was great. The food was excellent. Tasty wings, flavourful chilled Caesar salad, huge fish & chips and the best burger! The burger was cooked so perfectly, exactly the way I prefer. Great bun & cheese with lettuce & tomato. The fish was also done perfectly, steaming hot. Very fun night out!
If I could give 0 Stars I would. We came here during Jazz Fest after I heard great things from others about this place. We had 4 of us sit outside and all order drinks and food. First issue was the fact that we had 4 waitresses come to our table throughout the evening so we never knew who our sever was who would receive the tip. Second issue was the food. We waited over an hour to receive our food while other tables who came after us received their food long before us. It was all cold like it had been sitting there for half an hour and the fries in all our meals were burnt to a crisp. We asked for new fries which the waitress just gave us a big plate for 4 of us to share. The fries looked like they were from a different restaurant as the first ones we got were so burnt. The rest of the food was luke warm at best and very greasy. We were very unimpressed. At the end of the dinner one of the waitresses came to the table to get our bill and we were so unpleased and confused as to which servers we had so we didnt tip. After that the waitress turned from pleasant to totally rude. We were going to explain why we didnt tip and leave a cash amount for all 4 server to split but she was so rude we didnt even bother. Will not be coming back here.
Excellent fish & chips, huge variety of authentic imported and domestic beverages on tap, bottled or in cans, live entertainment and the inestimably funky patina of 20 years of running a fine public house. Sports memorabilia, variety of seating options, attentive service and quite a bit of history! Patio in the summer. Parking on the street.
Always a good time at the Kings head.
I was very disappointed in this pub. Over the years I have heard so many good things about it. I can say today though that I have no idea what all the hype was about. I'm very laid back and don't usually post reviews but the experience last night was not a good one. I went to the pub with a small group of 6 friends. We are all well mannered, respectful guys from various emergency service departments. We were seated by the staff at an 8 person table and the service from then and on was very poor. The server asked us at least 4 times if we had other friends coming because they were low on seating. While at another table across the way, 1 man sat at an 8 person table all by himself. We constantly had to flag the server down to get any kind of service. Staff I found to be cold and would come by and just reach across the table to pick things up without any notice, eye contact or saying a word. We were in the pub for about an hour and a half and it felt the entire time like they were just trying to get rid of us. For paying customers that were polite and not obnoxious, I was extremely disappointed with the lack of service. On top of that, the pub is definitely nothing special itself. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. The overall menu was really lacking. And what "pub" in the world doesn't have Guinness on tap with decent sized glasses? Keeping in mind that this night may have been a fluke night, I will give it another chance, reluctantly. I do think that management should take note though and keep a better eye on their staff. There should definitely be a manager that greets everyone when they come in and comes around and checks up on each table periodically. That did not happen at all. Also, if there is a lack of seating, that's not the customers problem.
We ordered groceries through Kings Head Pub and were beyond pleased. Packaging and delivery was well done and on time, the delivery person was very friendly as well. Communicating with Kings Head was excellent, there was a small mix up and they dealt with it professionally, they truly went above and beyond to ensure the best experience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
I didn't know I needed Donair Spring Rolls in my life until today!
I've been going to the Kingshead Pub for 21 years at least. My wife and I love this place. It's small and intimate, the bar staff actually remember you, they're friendly and inviting. There aren't the same issues youd have at other bars with kids being rowdy or rude. The live shows they normally have pre covid were always great and drew a crowd. The food is actually VERY good for a traditional style pub. If you get fries ask for the cajun chicken sauce on the side, you wont be disappointed. My wife says the new owner is a serious stud, but shes a better judge of such things than I am. With over 20 beers on tap, many local, and fantastic food, you cant go wrong here!
Food is excellent. The Kanuja burger is too notch. Great ambience and service is quick and attentive. Great beer selection.
Went there for a friends birthday and easily got a big table around 6ish! We started with drinks and got some food later on in the night! Everything we had was delicious and prices were great! We also loved the music there and playing pool was great as well!
Love coming here. Always good food, drinks, and service.
Friendly staff, quick served, good food, but not beer pitcher. But really nice place and you can see some comedy show!
Really enjoy the poutines and ambiance here, although the butter chicken poutine doesn't seem to taste as good as it used to. Always enjoy drinking/eating whatever is on special.
Great atmosphere friendly staff. I love this place.
Great live music and beer selection
Great bar with excellent local tap selection. I sat at the bar with a bunch of locals and all were friendly. Good vegetarian options and a good price!
Great selection of craft beer, live music and a good pub style menu make this a great night out!
Populist Review: Classic Winnipeg hangout in the heart of the Exchange, a wide variety of local craft beers on tap, and friendly staff. 4/5 Get Off My Lawn Review: Lacks proper English beers or traditional bartenders. When I ordered my wife a Silver Cloud, the bartender failed to make disparaging comments or give me a look of scorn. 2/5
Great service, delicious food, and amazing drinks. What's not to love!
It was an awesome and cool pub!
I only ordered drinks there. Beer was good and a an OK price for downtown. I ordered vodka shots and they were for sure mixed with water or sugar and water... well you served them to the wrong guy. Slavs know their vodka.... I ordered 6 shots and I could feel a thing. I saw the bartender poured it from polar ice bottle but it got to be mixed with something because for sure it wasn’t 40%. My friend ordered food and the plate was thrown on the table in front of him like “here ya go fokn eat” do not recommend they have cool premier league and championship decision memorabilia around. That’s what the one start get ya. Never coming again
Best place for domestic and import beer, great scotch select. Great food, be sure to visit during burger months. And a side note theowner is terrific!
I love this place. I go for my birthday every year. Staff has always been great, from lunch to a busy Saturday night. Infact, they even went as far as making my friend and i our own table upstairs by the stage so we could have somewhere to eat (it was packed and no tables left to sit down) good food, good music, good people!
Lovely curry dish. Was a nice place to sit and chat with our son. Not too noisy and the service was prompt and efficient.
Got started immediately, friendly and prompt service. The chicken roti was amazing, and the King's Head Burger was wonderful! Parking is as bad as you'd expect, but that's just the area, not the fault of King's Head at all.
Great place for food and beer selection. A Winnipeg staple!
Come for the beer and stay for the cheers! This bar no social house is by far the best Winnipeg has to offer! If your new here or just stoping in on a cross Canadian tour, this is definitely the place to stop and have a conversation with Chris at the bar, Hughey on the taps and Carly at the door! So many friendly faces to name them all but OH MY LANTA THIS IS A GOOD SPOT FOR A BEER!
King's Head has been a favorite for decades! Friendly staff, tasty food, and great atmosphere. The other day my friend and I went for a "quick lunch" but stayed for 3.5 hours because we were enjoying everything so much! ps: you have to try the new donair spring rolls!
One of my favourite pubs in Winnipeg. Staff is usually awesome, and this place is full of character. Food has gone through cycles of being ok to good to bad. I haven’t eaten here in awhile as we had a string of bad luck with food here.
Always a good place to sit have some drinks and chat. Pool darts and wide selection on tap make this a solid choice.
Love the food and the atmosphere here. I would not recommend this as a quiet bar when there's an event or large party there though, it fills up fast. Great bar and great good.
Incredibly friendly staff, great food, and great beer selections. Jay is the best! My favorite bar in Winnipeg!
Friendly staff, uncrowded seating arrangement, plenty of Tv's for sports, but not ear splitting loud. Unique menu items such as curry chips (fries).
Great atmosphere. Good food. Staff are amazing. Love the jam space upstairs.
One of the best pubs in Winnipeg. Super friendly staff and great food and drinks.
I've been to the King's Head several times as it is in a convenient location. I've always found it to be just average overall, hence the three stars. Nothing horrible but nothing mind blowing either. I do reccomend trying the butter chicken poutine.
In the minority of bars in this city that actually care about its patrons and flattening the curve. Not only are all the staff pleasant and inviting, they also foster a welcoming atmosphere that extends to its regulars. Whether you like patios, pool, pubs, or engagingly enjoyable eateries, King's Head has it all.
The bartenders are awesome. If you're ever at the upstairs bar, order a Mel Gibson. Secret menu drink only those two bartenders know how to make.
“Where everybody know me your name” ... friendly staff. Super quick service if you can snag a bar top seat. Awesome atmosphere. Yummy, well priced food. Every month they have a feature menu with some of the proceeds going to charities. If you’re going after work or before a Jets game make sure to get there early!
Well there is a lot of beer here. There isn't really anything wrong with this place, but it just isn't my favourite. If you come here in the evening on a busy night, there is a cover charge, which irritates me to no end.
Good food, reasonable pricing, large selection of beers. Friendly staff. Could be loud on game nights.
Great pub atmosphere, huge beer selection & the food is actually good! King's Head is a Winnipeg staple. Great for meeting up with friends
Lamb Vindaloo and The Big Khanuja Burger. We absolutely love the Kings Head Pub. Amazing selection of beer, the food never disappoints and the service is fantastic. They went above and beyond when I asked for extra spicy curry (getting over a cold and needed a good heat kick) and they delivered. I will be back everytime I come to Winnipeg.
Great food, wonderful service and fantastic beer selection. My only complaint is the washroom. Very tight space and cold.
Food was decent for a pub. Could’ve been a little warmer, like it sat for awhile after being prepared, but hey they were busy. 5 stars simply for the fact that it’s nice to sit down there and drink a Guinness again. Great atmosphere.
Great menu options with traditional English and Indian foods. Plenty of import beer options on tap. Great buzz to this place.
One of my favorite pubs. The poutine there is very good, I'd say even better then smokes.... the gravy is excellent(thick dark... and tasty). The fried are perfect and the cheese is curds. The salt is perfect as well. I highly recommend the poutine. Lots of drinks on tap. Has multiple levels. Servers are very competent. Didn't have Keiths Original. Regardless, a great place. Highly recommended
Covid precautions were in place and followed by staff. Great experience over all and a nice beer selection.
Great food and drinks
Was here the other night with some friends. The bar tenders were rude and arrogant. Went for the live music, the bar tender Peter was yelling at the musicians during their set telling them “just play the f***ing hockey game”. Super disrespectful and uncomfortable environment. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone.
Amazing people who own an amazing pub. This will be the future site of all our date nights post pandemic. We have so much fun here, entertainment is great, and staff is amazing.
Best pub in Winnipeg!! Food is absolutely the best!!
The best there is. Good food and drink. Great people. Lovely ambiance.
Kings head is the local watering hole. Live music on weekends, good food, good selection of beer, pool, darts. There's not much missing. If you're looking for a pub vibe and not a bar or club this is the place. The fish and chips is definitely hit and of course you can't go to a pub without grabbing a Guinness. I know that they used to offer a good Indian food buffet during the day, not sure if this is the case anymore.
Great place for a couple after work pints. Friendly staff. Good food.
Great food and lots of different kinds of beer and ales. Pub atmosphere with good music. There's also an upstairs where they have live music on occasion.
Great night, band Calamity Jane was excellent, fun crowd Great laughs:)
Paid St. Patrick's day $10 to get in went for a smoke. They put a bodyguard at the stair case upstairs had to argue w her and call my friend from the table to try to get back to the table we were sitting at for an hour. It sucked
Great staff and beer! Got good poisoning 2 days ago from their burger, but overall I'd go there again
Living in Toronto now the King's Head is a must stop when I head back to Winnipeg. Great atmosphere, staff and food. A proper pub.
Pretty typical pub food and a solid beer selection
Always a happening pace in Winnipeg with a dizzying amount of local, craft and imported beers. They have really good pub style food with awesome lunches. On weekends they have great bands. Also pool tables, dart boards, TVs to show important games and all round great atmosphere.
This was my second visit. The first time we had poor service and had to wait to be served then waited for drinks. I ordered a hamburger which was one of the worst burgers I've had. The patty had large chunks of hard burnt beef. Quite disgusting. Some friends were heading to the King's last night so my gf and I decided to meet them for drinks and something to eat. It's been about a year since my last visit so I thought we should go. We arrived after most of our party was already there and still eating. It took quite a while to get noticed so that we could order. Once we did order the server mocked our choice in beer? We then ordered some nachos. Our drink order never arrived and we received our nachos first. A second server asked if we got our drinks and I said no and she said they were on a staff change at the bar. The nachos were also really bad the quality of the ground beef was disgusting just like my hamburger on the first trip. Dry with large chunks almost like meatballs? The waitress asked how they were and I said o.k. but not great. She looked surprised but did nothing. I will be in no hurry to go back and if I do I will make sure I eat before I go and go to the bar to get my drinks which would be much quicker.
They make it Safe as far as I can see with Social distancing in the Lounge PUB area .....GREAT FOOD and Awesome Service
Food was a bit bland and the service was mediocre. Great beer selection though and they had live music mid week.
Great British pub atmosphere. Great food. Guinness on tap along with many other beers
Nice fun bar! I was there Nuit Blanche and it was a blast. Didn't try the food though.
The food was classic pub grub but the menu was nothing exciting - stayed to listen to music and couldn't see the band through all the teens that showed up - very cool building though
One of my favourite places to come and have a few beers with friends. Very good pub food. The environment isn't loud and it has a more classy feel to it. Large selection of beers on tap. (At least 20...I haven't counted)
Place gets 1 star because the server at the bar tried charging me twice. I personally saw that the transaction went through, and as I walk away he tells me it was denied so I make another payment. Get back to my party to look at my bank statements on my phone and see that I got charged twice. I did get cash back for the "error" when I brought it up, but what happens when someone else doesn't notice or doesn't check their bank statements... Nice try. Figure they try this occasionally with intoxicated guests.
Come for the curry fries, stay for the barback with the sick nerd shirts. Get your boss to buy you a few shots, dance to the house band, and try a torque beet. It's lit.
Great atmosphere, food and excellent selection in beer.
Server was awesome, Peter was his name, he was from Australia. Food was exceptional. I had the sheppards pie, rest of my family had the butter chicken poutine. They loved it!
Friendly staff and a decent sized patio for the Exchange District. I come back here on a regular occasion because they have a great on tap selection and the food is very good for bar food.
Great food, lots of different beer on tap, friendly service. Enjoyed it muchly!
Went over lunch and they were careful but pleasant. Lunch menu via QR code so bring a phone. Service was quick and friendly.
Great selection of draught beer on tap. Food is outstanding!
Great place for Indian lunch buffet with a great local beer selection. Truly a real England experience!
Great food. Lots of beers on tap, great variety in beverages and the staff is always friendly!!
Atmosphere was great, service for a party our size very good and the food excellent. I had the Madras chicken curry, samosas and tasted the fish & chips. Would loved to have tried more. Have to go back.
Although the King's Head Pub may be regarded as a great place to come and catch a game or spend an evening, it is also hidden gem for lunch. Scrupulous covid-19 procedures give one a high degree of confidence and the butter chicken roti is a must-have. Add to that friendly and engaging service and you have a winning combination.
Newer menu with lots of burgers, fish and chips and curry dishes. Lots of alcohol available. Server not very polite, fast or effective, but the food and music is good. Wasn't very hot though.
Went there for a paint night. Got there early to have a drink and some food. Ordered the beef vindaloo. I found it kind of funny: the waiter warned me that it was the spiciest vindaloo in Winnipeg and if I'm sure I want it. Of course I did! It sure didn't disappoint. It was definitely one of the spicier vindaloos I've had. I very much enjoyed it, however you do need a high heat tolerance to savour this one. Would definitely go back!
Great beer tap variety, including local and imports. Food is delish, especially the butter chicken poutine and Indian dishes. Don't be fooled: the spiciness on the beef vindaloo is legit. You've been warned.
Great food lots of beer on tap
Great local pub. Good selection on tap and above average food. Live the curry chips!
A good pub with a long history in Winnipeg. It's a mainstay where students & seniors and everyone in between rub elbows. They've expanded a lot over the years and it can get a little daunting on a Saturday night.
Nice atmosphere. The Indian curry food mmmm can't say much as it was just made hot but lacked the spicy flavors
Kings Head is a spot to find new friends Whether it's the end of the night or your about to begin With two floors of varying experiences You'll find what your looking for, call it a magical coincidence Busy or slow, the spot will be lit Rubbing shoulders with strangers or conversations that are legit If you don't know where to go and your confused what to do Try the Kings Head Pub, you'll be happy you came through.
Go to a paint night here! Or hockey game night! Do it! Foods great and staff are friendly but it's just ultimately a great location and atmosphere
Neat place. Went before an aft sun concert. The food was great and our server well he was very friendly. It has a great pub vibe and nice location in exchange district. Easy parking.
Bread pudding was awful and not evenly heated. It was really hard and we wouldn’t eat it. Curry was okay, but very small portion and cold. The only thing what was good is chicken fingers with honey dill sauce. Not worth 60$ for 2 people Update: Please fix your service on the internet, the response I got was very rude. There’s not going to be the next time.
I haven't had a proper Donair since 1996 when I lived in Nova Scotia...... The Kings Head totally had my taste buds going! Absolutely perfect ! Thank you, I'll be back
Exactly the pub you'd expect walking in. With better food.
Always an amazing place to go and enjoy the atmosphere, staff & a night with the band. After my many, many years enjoying countless nights, I have never once been disappointed in the service, quality of food or venue. Top stars for this Pub!
British inspired pub. The ambience and beer selection alone are worth it. Coupled with occasional nights with live music and really good food, this place is quite good.
Great location in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. Food is Indian-themed which is extremely delicious, along with your regular pub-style favorites. One of their popular pics is the Curry Fries, always delicious. Lots of selections of food and drink, and huge room for hanging out with 2 spacious floors going at most times.
Always have a good time when I go here. Owner is hilarious and super accommodating. A real gem in the city.
The King's Head is still one of my favourite spots in the city to go for food, drinks and music. The food is always great. Drinks are standard and service is decent. They helped my friend pull of a great surprise party for his partner (she had no clue), and did a great job accommodating our larger group.
Nice easy going pub with a good patio. Had the mushroom, jalapeno and mozzarella burger which was delicious. Monday special is 6 oz wine for $5, which is a great deal. Good friendly service too.
Great place to go for lunch, they have a daily lunch special that is great. I enjoy the curry and the vindaloo is very tasty and very spicy be warned. Happy that they now carry cider.
Excellent spot to stop for a beer and some grub. The food is surprisingly good for a pub. The curries are excellent and the butter chicken poutine is amazing dish. Good selection of beer and excellent service.
Kings head is a GREAT pub. 30+ different, unique and some local beers on tap. Food is Amazing. Great Indian style food along with great pub food. Try the butter chicken roti or curry chips(fries), two amazing items off the menu. Staff is fantastic, they are friendly, fast, and very personable. I know some by name and vise versa, some staff even know my beer of choice off the top of their heads with out me saying anything. It's a great location in the summer with a very good patio. Parking can be difficult at times like when the Winnipeg Jets are playing in town. Worse case scenario you might have to walk a minute or two but its never further than that. They have pool and darts along with live music on the second floor at times. Check it out and enjoy!
Absolutely love this place. They have the BEST food and such a great selection of draft. 10/10 would recommend.
A Winnipeg staple with great food, atmosphere and service. Huge selection of beer and cider on tap. Definitely recommend.
This is by far my favourite place to go in the city, and it's disappointing that I can't right now. The staff is incredibly friendly and the management always make you feel at home. I'd be giving 5 stars for this alone. However, in the mean time, all we can do is order and hope that these businesses stay operating. When ordering lunch on a Friday it was quick, less than a half hour and it was delivered to my door! The containers are also wrapped up to make sure they don't spill and retain even more heat. It's just another reason to support this fantastic place. They show they care about everything.
Almost rated 5 stars. Best pub in town. Very classic feel inside and out with good live music, delicious pub food, good bar selection and staff that are always helpful. Cover is reasonable. The only thing holding it back from being 5 stars is the crowd, doesn't always vibe with me.
Amazingly great food!!!! Would highly recommend. The service is really good and the restaurant is very clean and eclectic! Great variety of dishes and a great place to meet friends and hangout
Was upstairs for the live music and plenty of good vibes all around.
It really is a great place with a great selection of beer. I've been going here consistently for over 5 years, however the service by the staff could definitely improve as it seems to be getting worse. During the busy times there is a lot of chatter with their favourites but they don't seem to realise this favouritism they show to certain clients prevents them from acquiring new customers, some of whom I observed walk out after they waited in line just to be bumped by someone who walks in front and got priority service. My food I ordered was also decent and would order it again. I will keep going back however as it's hard to find a place in Winnipeg that feels like a neighbourhood pub.
Been a regular for years, one of my favourites! Seka is an incredible waitress and there’s great service every time.
It was pretty good. Tried the burger and the Mac and cheese. The Sheppard's pie needs a revamp it's pretty gross though.
My favourite watering hole. Good food. Local beer. Friendly staff. Lucky to have such a good English style bar so close to school and work.
Great patio! They were out of several types of beer but we had a really great local IPA
Ate there with my mum yesterday. Food was super greasy and the plates they gave us still had food stuck on them from a previous customer. My fish was perfectly but the batter was over cooked and full of grease. The sweet potato fries were over cooked, slightly burnt and greasy. All in all the only thing worth having there was the beer.
Nice place. Similar to a Boston Pizza type. We were looking for a place with lots of different beers on tap so this place didn't really live up to it's reputation in my opinion.
Back in time, before COVID,I used to go there for drinks and food almost every week. Staff were nice and food was decent and drinks were good. For awhile I didnt get to go there as we went wfh. This week was my 1st time going there since pandemic started. The pub was crazy busy, almost no social distancing what so ever, food was bad and staff didnt even care to bring napkins and anything. Like the whole staff were different and it was one of my worst experiences.
Was so good to attend my cousins wedding here! The staff did a wonderful job.
Has been my go to place for after-work beers for awhile and will never get sick of it! The staff always makes you feel super at home, their selection of beers is fantastic, and I've probably ordered 30 plates of chicken fingers & fries just over the past year. Zero complaints, forever my favourite pub!
I was here for the upstairs meeting room.... Very quaint, but small for the crowd there. Dingy and dark looking. *Ok, maybe dingy wasn't the right word, but I'm not used to pubs, although I did appreciate the Irish Pub feel, with my Irish heritage, it was still dark. I attended a wedding, so obviously, with dancing, and dinner, it was crowded, but the couple who booked your establishment loved it. SO, I was just giving my opinion, not to necessarily criticize. Sorry.....
Beer selection is okay but could be a little more adventurous. Food is decent. Friendly staff, with a few exceptions over the years. Good neighbourhood pub.
We ordered classic poutine and sheppers pie, Omg.. I should know this restaurant eariler!!!! It was delicious, lots of flavor and spices, all the food cooked very well and match together, but the only problem was the server never smile to us... Maybe we didn't order any beer or drinks like others(just kidding), anyway, I will be back for another meal, next time I wanna try their curry!!
Best butter chicken in the city. Don't order more than medium. Hot is really hot. Medium was perfect level of spicy for me.
Great staff!!! Luke - Tracy - Juri!! The best!!! Great Food!! Great Music!!! Best place in Winnipeg to go to - meet up with friends and you are guaranteed to be well taken care of and have a good time!!!!
Very nice pub, great food, friendly staff. there was live music on the second floor. We had a great time
Fun place to hang out. Great selection on tap. Always good live music. Love the pub atmosphere and great decor.
Fantastic place to enjoy a drink an great food. It is very addictive vibe.....;{)... I'm drunk now enjoying it. You should too...!
Food is really good, I've had the curry quorma and the burgers and they both taste great, food isn't too expensive and they always have sports games on all the time.
Great location. Food is subpar with miniscule portions. Both servers we had were uninterested and forgot something on our order everytime they came to our table regardless of it not being busy.
Good local pub, with tonnes of beer on tap. Plus, I always enjoy the food!
Went to dinner here with two coworkers and we all enjoyed what we ordered. It's got a bit of a hipster vibe (which is good, bad or who cares) but the menu had a great selection, including a little Indian. We were there in the evening so things were a bit noisy at the bar but overall, highly recommend.
Cool vibe atmosphere, decent food and good beer. Get there early in the afternoon so you can gaze out a window street
Always a great atmosphere. Whether you go in the evening or during lunch hour. I highly recommend trying the roti - it’s amazing!
I highly recommend The King's Head Pub to anyone looking for a night out. The food and service is always amazing! My daughter is just 18 and the amazing staff (Chris) made her feel safe on her 18th Birthday, so much so she headed there for a second round two nights later. Thanks for making this mom not worry so much!
It was so nice to dine in on the patio.
One of the best pubs in Winnipeg! Amazing staff, great beer choices, and amazing food - try the butter chicken poutine!
They have English pub style food here and I got the big khanuja burger with curried fries. The burger was cooked well came with pickle, fried onions, Swiss cheese, jalapenos, tomato lettuce, bacon and mushrooms. The curried fries were good as well first time trying them but enjoyed them a lot wish were a bit crispier not bad.
It does get a little crowded some nights, but that's all part of the magic. Great live bands and great drinks come together in this really comfotable atmosphere.
Winnipegs best pub. Live music, events and lots of beer on tap. Food is surprisingly good, great pub food with authentic Indian food available. Can get really busy and service can suffer at the bars. Fits the atmosphere though
Good beer selection. Fish and chips reccomended. Great to sit outside. Often free music from cube stage. Also features Blues inside during Jazz Festival.
Way too little staff for how busy it is, although they work hard. My steak sandwich was over cooked, then brought back severely under cooked, ate it anyway due to lack of time. Took forever to get our bill, and the staff were so over worked they didn't even have time to make sure you were doing ok. Had to stop them to get anything. Overall we won't be back.
Fantastic food and great service! You will never be disappointed in the food and beer choices available.
It's a pretty good bar. Lots of local and craft beer on tap, rail drinks are standard price. Had to pay a $5 entry on a Friday night, not sure why. Possibly a club/music thing on the second floor. They also have billiards tables and dart boards with a nice pub aesthetic. Food was great too! Surprisingly tasty apple crisp
Excellent food and awesome drinks! I would highly recommend stopping here if you are in Winnipeg!
We were super happy to have stumbled across The King's Head. A great selection of a variety of beer. Very good food too. The best part of all is the staff! Friendly and welcoming, charming fun reminiscent of my visits to pubs in the UK. Thank you to Bar Tender Hugh (your knowledge of hot dogs of the world is staggering). Well done Pub Owner Chris for a job well done.
Good food, good atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Great pub fair. I highly recommend going during any festival downtown (Fringe, Jazz Fest, Blues Fest)
Great Pub! Fun spot to see live music, great selection of craft beer and tasty eats.
Awsome scotch eggs, a real treat
Excellent food, great selection of beers on tap, locally run with wonderful service. Will always recommend this place
Poor service. Took 15 minutes for someone to come to the table to get our drink order. It took another 15 minutes for for someone to bring us our drinks. The food was cold. When we got the check it was wrong. They had overcharged us. Then the server gave us a lot of attitude because we pointed out that we were overcharged.
Amazing beer selection and great pub atmosphere. Music separate from the bar area too so you can pick and choose. Staff are great, but bar lines can be loooooooong.
Great food and a wide selection of local and import beers. Both the pub-style and Indian food are delicious. The staff and patrons are both extremely friendly making this a great place to eat or drink!
We took my Mom out for lunch on Saturday and sat on the patio. We had a great time and the person that served us was particularly attentive to my elderly mom. She had a great meal and a fantastic time!
Taking Covid precautions seriously! Food is always enjoyable. Great spot for a drink with friends
Jocelyn doesn’t know what she is talking about. This place is an icon. Great staff. Great food. Love it here. I alsways feel at home at the king’s head. And judging by all the reviews 99% of people do not agree with her.
Always cold beer and good service :)
Excellent select of fantastic beers.
Very good food. Ordered delivery through them. Had food in an hour, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Had Fish&Chips and Chicken Souvlaki. We were very impressed! Driver thanked us for supporting the Kings Head and we wanted to make sure they knew we were very happy with the wonderful service. Thank you for making our evening!
I did a lot of my homework here while attending Red River College just around the corner, so the King's Head Pub holds a special place in my heart. It has changed ownership in recent years but not much has changed, besides them not having my favourite calamari in Winnipeg on the menu anymore Some people complain about the price, but it is the Exchange District in an old landmark building. What would you expect? It can be good if you go for specials on weekdays, but I am not much of a nighttime/weekend bar star so couldn't tell you much about the nights except for how packed it gets.
Best place downtown to watch a game , have a few pints( wide variety from local brews to Standard lager). Or some good old basic, tasty pub fare. Exactly what I want in a pub. The service is great , staff are super friendly and someone in there can definitely answer any beer, spirit or food questions you may have. Good for large gatherings. Parking on the streets.
I came here on ComiCon Saturday. At one point, a bar tender came up, and asked if I was waiting for something. Upon seeing his face, I noticed he had stitches, and blood on a fair bit of his face. As a hemophobe, I panicked, and answered the question honestly. "Service" I realized how rude that was on my way out. The service was great, drinks were great, and nachos were great. I'm sorry for my comment, and in retrospect, it may have been a costume.
i've been going there for 20+ years. Always a great time, great people, great bands, and never had riff raff. I would recommend this place to everyone with a taste for adventure and for the finer things in life. Summer time on the patio. Winter inside. Can't go wrong being there.
Great food and nice atmosphere. It can sometimes take a while for service because it's always so busy, but other than that it's a fun time.
Great atmosphere, service, food, and drinks. Love coming here.
Didn't get the 25% discount we were promised. When I asked, I was told I get what it Saids on our card which was 25%. Didn't seem to care to get it changed. Food and drinks were good though.
Staff was so friendly and amazing. Lovely quiet atmosphere right in the heart of the district. Food was great and well priced. Will return for sure.
I had the Madras chicken curry, samosas and tasted the fish & chips. Would loved to have tried more. Have to go back.
One of the best atmospheres to have a pint in the exchange district of Winnipeg. LOTS of options for beer taps and the live music on the second floor is top notch after the reno's.
Great pub in the Exchange District. There's usually live music throughout the week and weekends. Always a great time at the Kings Head.
Decent place to drink. Can be fairly expensive without drink specials. I am not much of a pub crawler so my review may be biased.
I'm giving King's Head a five simply because it's one of the chillest places to go for drinks and pub fare in Winnipeg. Packed on bar nights, packed during Jets games. Live bands upstairs, pool/billiards main floor. I think it's the spicy curry & rice that's bomb here, haven't had it in awhile but I always get it when I do for eats. Lots of selection for what's on tap as well. A must if you haven't!
Staff was awesome. Fast efficient service. One my companions thought the Roti was a smidge bland(hot sauce fixed it right up). All in all a good experience though.
Their COVID strategy is top notch! Incredible community focused employer and staff. Atmosphere is great for so many things, low key to group events. Definitely a place I want to support for so many reasons.
Covid 19 protocols in place appropriately, felt safe. Ordered the fish and chips (beer batter haddock, substituted regular fries for sweet potato fries with spicy sauce). Fries were delicious, but the haddock wasn't spectacular. It wasn't bad, just lacked flavour. Overall good experience. Clean, good service, good atmosphere. (Saturday late lunch).
First visit. Good rack of beer and food very good. Had interesting conversation with Luke. Staff first rate.
Best English pub in the Exchange! Get your specialty beers and curry dishes here! I was here with friends last week, and I had the beef vindaloo. Wow, was that spicy! But don't worry, there's lots of non-spicy food here (and if you don't like curry, lots of burgers, sandwiches, etc. also available). If you like stouts, I recommend Grandpa's Sweater.
Great independent local pub with pub food standards plus surprisingly good curries! Extensive draught beer selection.
Great food, plenty of beer on tap, bartender/staff are quite friendly.
I have been going there for years. It has always been a nice, comfortable pub. It has changed hands recently. The new owners made changes. They did a good job of keeping the "spirit" of the pub. Just a little more modern. Staff were great. Joked around. But most importantly, brought me good cold beers.
good time
Wow this place is horrible. First when we walked in some young man without a uniform abruptly stopped us and impolitely asked for our id. Second we were not greeted at the door and when I asked the busboy if we were to sit ourselves or wait for a hostess, he rudely said "what do you normally do" The waitress was ok But the food was terrible. The woman I was with had the cajun chicken pasta. Ive never tasted food so spicy in my life. Inedible. Completely gross. The prime rib was not prime rib and way overcooked. Will never come back here its gross dirty and the worst service.. Other the waitress
This is a great place for drinks but the food needs some work. Definitely an awesome atmosphere with live music and its in a great location
Good food, great selection of drinks, warm atmosphere
Oh my goodness! What a gem of a place ! The food was great, fish and curry fries...just delicious and the service from the bartender was warm, funny and clever. Great experience!
Atmosphere was great and the food was great but our server was less than pleasant. Not only was her demeanour awful but she was not friendly or kind. Ordered drinks before we headed over to the other part of the bar for paint night and the server wouldn't even help us carry our food and drinks over. Asked for help and she told us to make another trip. Don't Beleive she belongs in the serving industry King's Head management.
Great place to watch a game and have some beers. Food is good too. I've never had a bad time.
GREAT food and staff! Had a great time!
It was a nice atmosphere. Had a prime rib sandwich and a Half Pint's Lil Scapper IPA. Our waitress was very attentive. Keep up the good work.
The scotch eggs are amazing. Great beer selection. Awesome staff. 10/10
Great place to grab a drink with friends. Awesome selection of beer! Totally recommend!
Loved the food however, poor service as we were sitting in the area nearest to the bar and with people in the "standing room only" category. Curry was good, beer was good. Just wished the person could have recommended or placed us elsewhere to eat our meal.
Always a good time. Great live music, great staff, and great food. I would recommend if you are 25+
Especially because of COVID, it's so nice to get to a bar thats clean! Love it here and love the staff. Always make me the best drinks and they don't skimp on the alcohol like some places. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars!
Showed up at 4pm on a Friday with a large wedding group and they were friendly, courteous and fast with delicious food and drink. Great place to hang between wedding photos and reception.
Great food and service and awesome staff!!! Ordered curbside pickup during restrictions and recently organized one of The Chamber team's first in person social events on the patio! As a member of The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce... highly recommended!
Samosas were greasy and burnt. When asked if we could have a side of curry sauce because the chickpea curry was very dry we were told "no, that only comes with the curry fries" wow! Unbelievable, poor service. Watered down fountain drinks.
Great for supporting local community, especially Valour FC & Red River Rising, The Fringe, and so much more. Please give them all the support they need through Covad, so when Manitoba is good again, they are still here. Help full servers, bartenders. Owners are un real. Keep them going
New menu item Donair spring rolls! Amazing and everything else is good too, but those spring rolls... Also you can buy the house made hot sauce. Great place glad to see them open for in person again
Interior was beautiful. Food was fresh and flavorful. Outdoor seating section was good. Staff were polite and friendly. Music was good. Everything was well organised.
I recently decided to have a few beers at the king's head Pub after not being there for many years. Good atmosphere very cool, as I've been to London quite a few times and it reminds me of over the pond. Portions are a bit to small for me...just my opinion. Better?
One of the best pubs in the city. Excellent food and a good beer selection. Very friendly staff. On busy nights it can be very cramped though. Sometimes it's hard to find a table.
Normally I order the curries, but the last time the dish was practically swimming in a pool of water at the bottom of my plate. The flavour was terrible. They also really cheap out on the paneer. Don't think I'll be coming here anymore. (Re: Owner's [now-deleted] attempt to be witty by lashing out at a review instead of admitting they screwed up: Such snark! I'm sure grandma doesn't make it with 1/4 cup of water floating at the bottom either. You can't even admit that you botched an order. People reading will see that and know that you don't care about quality.)
Good eats & drinks but the service is just awful. Rude, out to lunch staff, forgetful even after ordering 3X then waited 20 mins for the side dish they forgot then got the order wrong. smh...not sure what was up tonight but it's not normally like this. I think the staff must have been smoking some good stuff! lol ????
I've only been here to eat once and I ordered a burger. I can't remember which one but it was really big and good. Price was good, too. I've been here to drink and have fun countless times with friends and it's always been really fun. Despite how busy it usually is on the weekends the service is attentive and quick. They have live bands that play rock type music and later on they play some top 40's which is always fun. I enjoy the place. It seems to have a mix of younger and older crowds which is always entertaining.
Good times. Live music. Busy but tons of fun. Gets busy after Jets and blue bomber games.
I visited the King’s Head Pub tonight and was so disappointed. Sat down with a group of 10+ people and we all order food and drinks. The service was slow and the male staff member in a purple shirt who brought out our food was so incredibly rude and ill mannered. The food itself was nothing special and everybody at the table was extremely disappointed. How hard is it to make a poutine? If you like soggy fries, watery gravy topped with a small portion of cheese curds then this is the place for you.
Awesome entertainment band was Last Call. Food was really good also. Fun friday nite. Bar was very full but staff was able to take care of our needs.
Amazing staff! A beer selection that'll knock your socks off! The patio is sunny and wonderful in the summer! One of my favorite pubs n loves in Winnipeg.
We had office Christmas celebration here
Great burgers, cool staff, darts.... i partied like it was 1999 here until the year 2000 hit what a night that was. Has it been 19 years, either way this place is an institution in the best way possible. Plus they make scotch eggs
A true British pub and a Winnipeg institution since forever. Burgers and curries are fantastic and the scotch eggs are a personal favorite. Sweet patio, good live music and the home base for Valour FC fans on match day!! Check them out on Instagram.
As an expat Brit living in Winnipeg, this is the go to for a great night out! Beer selection is awesome, and staff are personable, even during the busier times. Great for the Exchange and Winnipeg as a whole. Bravo
Just Love the Kings Head, always great beer selection and great food. The perfect pub.
My wife and I and our 2 twenty-somthings stopped in for supper. I had a great burger and fries for $8.95. Better value than I've had at other so called upscale places. I liked the bar look of the place. It's not fancy shmantzy but we weren't expecting that either. Waitress was very good. Everyone at our table liked what they got. We'd go back.
Nice Atmosphere. Fun Place. Good Food.
First meal I had upon arriving in Winnipeg a couple hours after my flight. Unfortunately wasn't feeling well but the pub is still a comfortable and cozy little place with lots of neat decor. Prices are reasonable, not too expensive, the food was good, and though it was a bit of a wait for service my visit overall was still a 5/5!
Simply amazing. Several beers on tap and I recommend the bangers and mash
Nice place. Had a rustic sort of worn out but still solid aesthetic. Open seating arrangement so it was easy to find my friends. Service was fast and waiters came by often enough that we never had to call on someone for an order to be made.
Good food and wide selection of beer. Never disappointed. Solid lunch and after beer place. It's also a good venues to throw a party for a small group to corporate event.
A must visit for those who enjoy a pint in a classic pub. Food is pretty good too. Lots of fun live music when there isn't a pandemic going on.
The food at The King's Head is so much better than you would expect from a local Pub. The burgers are to die for. The Shepherd's Pie is delicious. Service is good. I have been here for lunches several times over the last three years and will keep going back!
The Kings Head has always one of my favorite places to go. The atmosphere exudes friendliness everytime I'm there. Service is exemplary. Great choice of beverages. The food is a place worthwhile trying out. I was going there on and off for several years and it was always a pleasure. You have to go to experience it.
Lots of choices of beer on tap and good food and service. Great night to sit on the patio.
In general, this is a good place, atmospheric. A good choice of alcohol, food is decent. But I faced with the baseless rudeness of the bartender who spoiled my evening. I ordered a whiskey, later noticed that the barman forgot to put some rocks. Returned to ask him about it, he ignored me for like 10 minutes. And when I asked him about some ice he screamed at me that he had a customer (with tips)... Just no cool and rude/ The main thing that matter for them - it's tips
Always great service, food and beverages! ????
one of my favorite bars. the staff work hard here and it's always got great music and food.
Tons of fun. One of Winnipeg’s original pubs. Very good food. Very good beer selection.
Great food, pub vibe, staff is wonderful.
My favourite watering hole, casual relaxed atmosphere. The staff is awesome! Plenty of selection for drinks and the food is always full of flavour with good portions! Live music on the weekends is always entertaining.
I was here back in 2018 before the pandemic hit. Finally back in 2021, I was so impressed by their service & clean environment here yesterday!! I had the generous serving of beef roti curry for the first time in years!! It was just as delicious and hotter than ever!! ???? l highly recommend this classic & high quality pub in the heart of our downtown!!
One of my favourite pubs. Unfortunate that we can't have a pint inside with friends, but the food for takeout was excellent all the same.
Your run of the mill pub to grab a beer and sit around with friends, inside or out. Good selection of brews on tap and a reasonable food menu. Easy enough to fit a large group gathering and plenty of great locations to explore within walking distance.
It was our 1st time there. We loved the curry and can't wait to come back.
Good times. With multiple floors to enjoy there is always something new to experience. Prices were decent and the staff were friendly. If your in the area looking for a night of entertainment, this is a place to check out. Located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. #localguides
I went here for the first in November for a Paint Nite event and my experience was awesome. I had the maple butternut squash soup and the Quinoa salad - the portions were impressive and I ended up taking my salad leftovers home but amazing flavours. I wanted to try something different and they didn't disappoint me. Also the bar tender on shift was so friendly and me feel welcomed and comfortable, even the servers were quite friendly which I really enjoyed too. Oh yeah, the Paint Nite event was a blast, had a lot of fun. I will be going back to try more stuff on their menu and to attend other events there.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere here for a few Friday drinks with a good selection of local craft beers.
Had a celebration of life there for our friend. They were very kind
Great atmosphere and food really delicious
Best pub in Winnipeg. Huge tap selection of great beer. Warm and inviting with classic billiards games. I loved meeting up with friends here to catch up!
Good food good drinks and great service. They frequently have really talented local bands playing as well
It was food experience, one thing for sure the indian food is better than what they sell here in Indian cuisines , but only drawback was portion of onion rings like they literally had 5 pieces on the tower, please don't order em, otherwise it was topnotch.
One of the best pubs in the city - great staff, great pub food (try the butter chicken poutine), and a wide selection of beers!
Trendy place which atrracts a mix of all ages of people. Hosts a variety of musical, comedy, and random events. Sometimes big name musicians stop by for a surprise concert. Great casual place for meeting people for the first time after connecting online. Make sure you go and try the pub amd indian style food.
Super looking forward to being live music again and for the dart boards to open up
This is the best English style pub in Winnipeg. There have a variety of different beers available on tap and in a bottle. The food which is primarily pub fare is excellent and reasonably priced. I recommend the butter chicken or fish and chips. Lots of t.v.'s to watch sports and on weekends there is dancing with live music.
They know how to properly pour the beer, be it Guiness or any other kind. Very friendly staff, good food too!
Very nice pub, good selection of beer. Great views for any game, expanded seating area is excellent
If you need a night out in a comfy place to enjoy some good beers on tap this is the place. If you like dancing the second level has great live music most evenings.
Great service. Great patio. Great selection of beer. Great place to visit and hang out
Great spot in a fantastic neighborhood!
The staff was incredibly accommodating of our larger-than-average group. This was despite being a little bit busy, they made every effort to set us up with a table as soon as possible. Food was standard bar fare, not bad but nothing that you would cross the city for. The only lack of service was getting our bill. Checking out from The Establishment did take abnormally long.
Took a long to get service and long wait time for food to be made wasn't even that busy. Plus server made our orders wrong food was great otherwise. Almost walked out without paying because server took so long to get our checks so we can pay
Good food. Over crowded.
Great place for Hangouts, snacks and awesome beer!
I usually grab food to go on my lunch breaks and it’s always amazing and the guy with the accent is my fav worker there, great customer service from him!!!! But Ethan’s pretty rude hey. Went there after work with 4 other people for drinks & apps and while he is good with checking up on tables, he had the worst attitude when it came down to us splitting/paying the bill. We all still tipped but we all regretted it after because of how he made us feel like such an inconvenience and annoyance to him
Great place, great staff. Winnipeg institution. The closest thing to a Halifax Donair you will get in Winnipeg... My choice every time.
This place is always hopping, but the servers still manage to do a great job! Great beer selection and great food too, at pretty reasonable prices.
Good food, drinks and atmosphere. I had just an appetizer but the lemon wings were good. Watch that step when heading to the bathroom from the party room though ;)
Just to be clear on what this place is. It's a beer hall with a British pub theme. If you want an inexpensive drink and don't care about decor, then this is the place. If you're looking for a more subdued atmosphere in a place with some semi-private tables, and some polish to it, (which is how I think of a pub) keep looking. ( I don't think there's a place like that in Winnipeg. ) Very good beer selection, decent bar food - burgers are very good, good fish and chips, avoid the curry - fun place, very eclectic crowd from students from the nearby college to city councillors and everything in between. Very, very casual dress. Very busy at lunch. It can get rocking at night and plays host to large groups for birthdays and retirement parties etc., especially on Fridays and Saturdays, when they often have live music and a dance floor upstairs. If you're in a bit of a party mood, this is the place.
Best neighborhood watering whole in existence! I can't wait for this place to get back to full capacity. Kings head is truly the epitome of pub cuisine
Was a good time with a good band, bartenders were friendly and helped throw out a very drunk man who decided he wasn't leaving us alone, took one word to the bartender and he was out, thank you. Then our time was even better.
The King's Head is probably the most well known establishment in the Exchange District. Judging by the number of people, all ages, all walks of life, that have responded with "Oh yeah, I've been there" after finding out I'd just been there, the King's Head has been quite popular for a long time. This is an English style pub, with authentic Fish and Chips everyone should try, and an assortment of East Indian dishes that will get your thirst on. Portions are good, and pricing very good. The King's Head has always had a very deep selection of beer on tap, also well priced. Friday and Saturday night bands - the kind that play songs you know the words to, and can dance to - often pack the second floor.
A bit of an institution as far as pubs go in Winnipeg. Worth stopping by for a beer and some pub food. In an old building with an old charm feel. Wear shoes that won't come off....as the floor is quite sticky. Lots of craft beers on tap and quite good pub food.
Great food, 30 beer on tap, older building with lots of character, great service. We keep going back!
Butter chicken was excellent followed by apple crisp and icecream which was phenomenal. Great service and nice ambiance. Appreciate the built in vaccum on the wall! Overall an excellent place to hang out.
The food and atmosphere were good but the servers were rude to my friends and acted annoyed that we ordered food. This is not how paying customers deserve to be treated no matter how busy it is.
Great atmosphere and good drinks
Went with some friends for a beer, after a while the waiter took the glasses of the last patrons but never cleaned the table so I did it myself. Went to the bar for a beer (the first of many I hoped), but had that sensation that I was receiving a favor...so I finished my beer, and left after a great game of pool.
Good was great and the server made sure to learn our names for our orders. The atmosphere is what you would expect a pub to be and I will definitely be going again. Highly recommended.
If you can, go for the Friday Indian food buffet. Excellent value for $12.99. Comfortable, we'll worn atmosphere.
Lance is awesome…. tbh the greatest guy i ever met. So cool. thanks lance
Butternut squash ravioli in a creamy curry sauce was a perfect lunch paired with a crisp beer and a patio.Very personable staff.
Didn't know what to expect from this venue for a wedding and it was definitely interesting but I would not recommend it for a wedding. We were squished in like sardines, they didn't have enough people serving food, they didn't have a proper food staging/prep area so they prepped the plates right beside the washroom entrances. There was a bug in the bride's food and when she mentioned it to the owner he commented "I'll just get you drunk" to make up for it. No apologies given and no attempt to make it right. There were some other problems with drinks and bar prices but the main issue is that by the end of the night the owner was completely unprofessional. Regardless of the situation no business owner should be swearing and yelling at customers. I understand that emotions can run high in any situation, but as a business owner you should try and remain professional and if you can't, you should remove yourself from the situation completely. I would definitely NOT recommend this venue for a wedding at all.
Went there to grab something to eat, got a burger and fries, when I got the food the bun was hard the fries tasted like they where from McCain's frozen fries bag and got a pop and was surprised they didnt have free refills. Dont know if it was a bad day there or something but not the greatest experience
Three of us had the burger and all were burnt. Meat was so burnt it was a bit bitter. We never send anything back, just tough it out and ate it. The fish n chip was also over fried and dry. Beer and service was great....but I would not recommend the food. Would return for the drinks but avoid the food.
One of my favorite places to meet friends. Right in the heart of the exchange. Classic pub atmosphere and food along with friendly staff.
Always a hit with our friends. Downstairs has a more relaxed pub feel while their upstairs vibe with live music (which is amazing) literally rocks the floor. It can get quite packed which makes it hard to move around, but it's never lacking people on a Saturday night. Food is surprisingly good and not just your typical pub food. Only been disappointed once when they rented out the upstairs for a closed social.
A quintessential pub. A wide selection of beer, great food, pub games and great atmosphere. The perfect place to hangout out with friends.
GREAT pub eats! Have the bangers and mash you won't be disappointed! Friendly space, great live music and pub atmosphere. You have to visit :)
