Food was fabulous, Service was slow. Extremely uncomfortable booth seating because the seat was so low in relation to the table. It made eating very awkward, (I'm not short, 5'6"). The mussels were delicious, but with no finger bowl offered, we were left with sticky fingers. So overall an uncomfortable dining experience.

Great place listening to a live band. Service was ok...one waitress should probably change jobs. The other lady was really nice. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to dance 4-6ft apart, even though the place was crowded and you literally had to squeeze through people to use the washroom...other than that...it's pretty good.

Went for a casual dinner with a friend here. The food was good, they had a decent beer selection with specials, and live music. The outdoor patio was nice as well letting in the ocean air. I was definitely entertained by my surroundings. OH. and you HAVE to try the brownie! ????

Great place, food and atmosphere. Wednesday evening was jam night and we were thoroughly entertained. It's quite a small place but has a fare sized patio and there is no wall separating indoor/outdoor seating so feels open. Great place to sit and relax and take in some good music but not able to converse when the band plays, however they interact with the crowd! Everyone who had the fish and chips loved it! I had the chicken burger and would definitely order it again. Crispy. breaded but not thick batter. All in all will be making another trip there and highly recommend it!

Don’t trust these good reviews, our food wasn’t great AT ALL. We had burger and fish&chips. Burger patty was super weird in texture and taste, I think they just cook cheapest frozen patties in market you can buy in huge box for $10, a&w burgers taste 200% better. And then later my partner shared that his fish was terrible. I thought you can’t go wrong with simple burger and fish&chips, now I know.. you can. But our server was nice and the location was great.

Wound up at this tiny place on New Year's Eve to support a friend's band and actually really enjoyed the night regardless of our initial skepticism. We were informed that most of the people on attendance were the usual crowd, which spoke well of the overall atmosphere. Casual, eclectic crowd - cougars in heels, grizzled old men with beards to their belly buttons, smartly dressed hipsters, laid back mothers. I drank enough to be uncertain of the food and drink quality (ha) but I do know my boyfriend's martini didn't come with olives, but they did have the particular gin he was after to mix it with. I was happy with my beer on tap as I absolutely decimated two (2!) decently sized baskets of perfectly cooked deep fried pickles. There's a sign that states no dancing due to licensing, but around 10 we were asked to move our tables to account for a dance floor and we danced the night away happily if in an absolutely cramped space. Staff were friendly even when desperately trying to clear drunk patrons out of the bar at closing, bathrooms were clean, parking was across the street. Overall had a rather nice time.

My girlfriend and I ate here feb, 2017. The service was fast and friendly. We sat next to a rowdy table which couldn't stop swearing which made for a bad experience. They were clearly regulars at this bar as they knew everyone's name. They had complained to the server that they food they ordered smelled "old". The server replied "well it was pulled out of the freezer a few days ago so it should be fine". They ended up ordering something else from the menu and refused to eat what had been served to them. When we left one of the regulars apologized to us for being "too loud". Once my girlfriend and I arrived home she began to feel sick and threw up all the food she ate. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling very sick and threw up for over an hour. We both felt like we had food poisoning into the next day. There is clearly some food safe issues in this establishment that need to be addressed. I would highly recommend not eating here unless you only are looking to drink and be sourrounded by loud abnoxious regulars who don't care about how they conduct themselves. All round a terrible experience and we will not ever be going back to the west beach grill.

Such a great place to lunch! Went there on a beach date and the food was great, perfect for sharing (or for yourself)! We ordered the fish and chips and were able to substitute for yam fries instead of the regular ones. The service was swift and friendly,the prices reasonable. This was definitely a place I would go back to.

So I have been here a few times in the last week since the weather has been nice. The waitresses are friendly and quick. There’s a new girl and she’s getting the hang of things. The drinks are fine, regular expected bar/pub drinks. The food is touch and go. I would recommend if your getting anything fried to ask for it extra crispy. Poutine is a no go, just don’t do it. trust me. Zucchini sticks are great but like I said I order extra crispy or they turn up a bit soggy. I’d give another star if there was quiet music playing but just the sound of people talking and no background music can be a bit off putting.

It was quiet, we were able to have a decent, delicious late lunch that wasn't unreasonably priced. I can't imagine this place on a busy night. The tables would be crowded, it'd be too loud to carry on a conversation. Good friendly service.

The server who was an indian lady was not polite at all. Was very ruid when she seated us. Didnt even bother to come back and check up on us, gave us the debit machine and said have a good afternoon and walked away. On top of that the food was not good the west coast burger was very greasy and sloppy. Would not bother going back there

I have only been here for a few of the jam sessions. So far the musicians have been OK, no one really stood out. The food I have had so is pretty good, not great, but no complaints. What stands out here is the servers. The servers here are truly amazing. They never seem to stop. Whoever owns this place has great staff. The service is a little slow because they are busy and everyone wants their order at the same time. In my opinion, the wait staff at this establishment would be worthy of Gold Metal Olympic Medals.

First time here. Loved the food. I had Vegetable Bread and Sweet Potato Fries (Yam Fried) with Chipotle Sauce. Vegetable Bread was alright,I really liked the Yam Fries. Atmosphere is more likeable for avid drinkers as it is a bar, not my kind of engineering l environment. But outside seating is great. The views and fresh air if awesome ????.

This was seriously the best. We were looking for a place in white rock, looking at reviews, menus - all while walking in the rain. We remembered seeing this place on the drive up to the pier and decided to take our chances and walk all the way back down. SO GLAD WE DID. $16 friken dollars for a coffee (which was promptly refilled when almost empty), steak (I live in Vancouver and have spent way too much money on steak lately and THIS WAS THE BEST TASTING ONE IVE HAD IN MONTHS), 2 beautifully soft poached eggs and I even asked for a special sub which was caesar salad instead of hashbrowns (it also came with 2 pieces of toast). It was only $2 extra for the salad and it was like a whole appetizer sized portion with TONS of cheese. The server (Devann) was awesome. Super polite, fast and remembered our entire order (including me being annoying and asking for multiple subs) without writing a thing down. She also let us order breakfast after it had already ended which worked out so well for us as we all ended up ordering breakfast. thanks so much for this experience. I'm a server/bartender and previous cook and I can say this is a solid 10/10 all around.

Save your money and time to dine elsewhere. The female bartender right from the moment we walked in treated my group of friends terribly. She swore at us for no reason, and outright thought we were speaking badly behind her back yet we had not even stepped foot into the restaurant. She made us feel so uncomfortable that we up and left before even receiving our drinks. This place was very dirty, had weird vibes, and seems to be very poorly managed. It's Unfortunate because this is a beautiful location, but the owners seriously need to consider hiring respectful, uplifting staff. Otherwise this will keep happening to other guests. I will not come back again, and will highly recommend to everyone not to waste their time here.

Wasn't busy when we went there but shortly after that It started to get busy. The waitress was there by herself. And she was amazing! The food was all so delicious. I ordered the pasta with marinara sauce, a nice portion for Sure. I ended up taking some of it home and had it for lunch the next day. Will definitely go back the next time I'm down that way.

Service was horrifying! Entered the restaurant and was told to take a seat anywhere. Waitress seemed friendly, but we sat there for 10-15 minutes until they finally gave us our menus and apologized for the wait. There was only one waitress working and they decided to clean tables instead of serving our table!! Menus were sticky and unpleasant to touch. Ended up not ordering anything and leaving. Aisles between tables are small and there were chunks of food under our table!! This restaurant mainly a local hangout as it is full of locals who all know each other and shout across the room. Unimpressed by this restaurant.

Don't believe these reviews! A large group of us went here today for dinner and none of us enjoyed our meals. The quesedilla tasted just okay and was made with processed cheese! And the battered fish just awful. The shrimp appetizer was beyond awful. Our waitress however was very sweet and friendly. hence the 2 stars.

I've always considered this restaurant to eat at since we walk past it everytime we go to whiterock... Yesturday marks the day they lost my business forever. An Indian women at the bar had asked me " if I'm going to buy anything" when I was racing trying to find tissue to aid to a child's nose bleed. Totally disrespectful, one thing to keep in mind when running a restaurant and in any customer service position is that the customer comes first. Goodluck.

We came in last Saturday. sometime after 8 they had a band. the band was loud to be able to have a conversation - the Guitarist on the band was amazing. some of us left for a walk around the pier to enjoy the nice weather and came back for the band - parking is 6.25 for 4 hours. don't pay 9 till 2am

Love this place. Right on the Marine drive strip. Parking is always a concern in White Rock, lucky there is street parking in front. Parking lot across the street. Parkade one Block south. Great venue for live entertainment. Good prices, and friendly staff. Try the butter chicken, or calamari.

Got the wings and calamari here and all was good until one of the wings still had a feather on it! I’ve never experienced something like that and it made all of us lose our appetite to say the least. The waitress was nice and removed the wings from our bill although that was the only positive. We waited over 15 minutes to even get our menus and at the end of our meal she took a payment from half of our group and left for 10 minutes before returning to get the payment for the remaining portion of the bill. Overall wouldn’t come back here nor would I recommend it- not only because of the feather but because of the service. 2 stars because the food was comped and liquor prices were good!

I called to ask a question about delivery and the waitress basically said she was too busy to answer my question - really? I wanted to make an order for a bunch of people that didn't want to risk drinking and driving - and I was essentially advised that unless I knew how to respond immediately - I was a worthless customer. Never ever going back there - 8 of us.

Location is nice, but unprofessional reception! The server and the only employees the front wasn’t welcoming and rushing everything. This shouldn’t be happening specially during the holidays! How do tell people happy holidays and be rude to them ???? Asked them for a well done burger ???? but they took my burger back grilled it and served it back! What kind of service is this??

Not for eating food! View is great and waitress was friendly. We came for brunch on a beautiful day. I ordered a chef salad. It came with scrambled eggs. Ok. I read the ingredients clearly and it did not say onions. It came chock full off onions. I removed them. My husband ordered the breakfast wrap and it was full of grease and cane with mushrooms and onions which it did not say on the menu. If a mushroom hater got that would not be good. We ate what we could. We watched every other dish in the restaurant not get eaten. Battered wings and no one ate or boxed their food up. That should be a sign to the chef. When we paid I asked if the chef (owner) was open to feedback - she said no. At least only put the ingredients in the food that it states on the menu. People have allergies and it’s such a waste of food. It’s a shame because the view is incredible.

My mothers apartment beside this bar was burning down on april 5th 2017. It was late at night and raining. The bar would not help them or let them into their astablishment because they were closing. This was unaceptable and a discrase to humanity. Will never go back and telling all our friends that live in white rock about this horrible incident.

Came here during summer and tried the FRENCH DIP, which is a staple sandwich and something I regularly order at restaurants. Unfortunately the French Dip from this restaurant was the worst one I had ever tried... I'd not come back after months to write a negative review otherwise... Very overpriced for the low quality that it is, I've had French dip sandwiches for the same price that had nice thick slices of sirloin steak cooked exactly to my preference so it was really disappointing paying that price for a very low quality item. The meat was in slices, looked like leather, and lower quality than deli meat. The Au Jus was disgusting, like it was heated in the microwave made from one of those ready made packets. In my opinion they should review their menu and remove items like the French Dip. I will gladly change my review to 5 stars if owner shows proof that the French Dip has been removed from the menu as I don't take pride in leaving negative reviews. Listening to customers and taking their criticism into consideration is good business practice and I'd happily change my review if proof is shown that this establishment can do so. Also restaurant is clearly understaffed, when I was there I watched the single waitress deal with a packed restaurant which causes poor customer service. She had not come to check up on us and we had to call her over anytime we needed assistance, not a big deal and didn't leave a sour taste in my mouth but the French dip sure did. My friend ordered the jambalaya pasta and it smelled and tasted good, was satisfied with that.

The view and service was good, but that's all that was good. The food was sub par at best. All alcoholic drinks were watered down way more than usual I tasted no alcohol. Don't waste your time you could do better in your own kitchen

Had an inspiring meeting on the patio yesterday, first enjoying a delicious plate of Nachos followed by the best calamari I've had in a long time. Everyone knows that West Beach Bar & Grill is the epicentre for great live music on the White Rock strip (with shows 5 nights a week), but with the new ownership (as of July 1), I've already witnessed improvements across the board (kitchen, menu, bathroom, decor...). They even open for breakfast now! I guess it makes a big difference when the new management are successful restauranteurs who know what they're doing. Well done!

Amazing service. Love staff attitude and everyone is always smiling inside. The view of the water is so nice. Their response to COVID-19 with no renovations and rules shows their management really does care about their clients rather then the money. Can’t wait to visit again!

Can't beat a nice shady place to sip a cold drink and have a bite to eat on the beautiful White Rock Beach strip. This place was a refreshing and quiet place to relax and enjoy the busy beach atmosphere. Although it did take a noticeably long time to get our drinks served considering how slow it was, the waitresses were friendly and funny.

The server wouldn’t allow us in (child and I) because she couldn’t figure out her computer. I get technology issues, but I kindly told her my toddler and I drove for an hour to eat near the beach and that my toddler was starving. I asked if she could put in a food order written by hand so we could eat at their restaurant. She was super rude and told us to leave and try some other place. My toddler doesn’t understand why she’s not allowed to eat at the place where she can see the water. 0/10. Do not recommend.

This is not a dining experience but cheap drinks and friendly locals. Live music on Wednesday until Saturday. The band and singers are pretty good.......local guys. It has an open mic feeling. Food is pub food....nothing special. Right on the beach. Great sunset in the summer months. Great service and good food. Would definitely return.
