Course is up and down. Figuratively and literally. When it is taken care of it is good however too often it is not taken care of and can be really slow. It seems they are trying to keep the slow players moving now. A lot of potential to be a great local course. Hopefully they up their game now that Eaglequest has been cut in half.

Enjoyed the layout and the pace. There's some interesting holes that require some course management and a good Hybrid or fairway wood. Bring lots of balls because there are a lot of creeks and water to hit over. You can use GolfNow to book your tee time but if it's a hot deal, the proshop WILL NOT honor it.

I have been golfing in and around surrey for the past ten years. I believe to be very relaxing but more and more becoming a luxury experience because of the price and usually the treatment. I had called yesterday to inquire of tee times and prices. I had talked to a very polite young lady on the phone and figured out a time and price. I had to confirm the time and place with other my group members respectively. The next day I called to book that tee time. The gentleman on the phone said he would not honor the price quoted to me and denied the fact that someone from his staff would offer their deal. He said he didn't know who i was referring to and stated he was the manager. Then said golfers know prices go down in the afternoon. I said I wouldn't know that because I dont golf that's why i am booking a tee time. Then he hung up on me. I have been golfing at this particular coarse for over 10 years. This was an unfortunate. this is one of my local coarses. Never have i had such unprofessional treatment. this is a C+ coarse at best I will continue to golf here but this is no longer going to be on the top of my list

Used the Guildford Golf and Country Club for a staff holiday party. Janette was so helpful and accommodating to all of our requests and was very responsive. The room was beautifully decorated, and so many small details that made it truly special. The staff on the day of was very helpful as well, Desiree was there right when I arrived to set up and helpful throughout the entire event with anything that was asked. The food was brought out on time, and was delicious! Our staff was very happy with the selection and quality. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend the venue, and we will most definitely be back! Thank you to all the great staff!

The course is simply not being maintained. The greens and fairways are in rough shape even for a muni. While staff seems friendly, the course pace is just not managed the way it needs to be...you are unlikely to finish twilight rounds in the summer if you start later than 5 and you can expect to wait 10+ minutes on nearly every tee. No marshals to be seen. Just know what to expect!

What can I say about this course? I played a Saturday in May at 1:30pm. We got our round in 4.5 hours, maybe a little less. It can get backed up, but found the marshall was seen on multiple occasions to move people along as best as they could. The conditions were good. The reason for the -1 star is because the tee boxes could use some work, I found on most holes they were quite bumpy and a little difficult to find a good footing. The course itself is fun, there are a few situations where you have the option of laying up or just going for it. More often than not, we opted to go for it, I love situations like those because it really makes things interesting. I always contemplate if I should try to carry the water on the first tee =D If you have never played here before, I think you will enjoy your round. I would say it's one of the better values in the GVRD and the conditions were spot on.

Tried Guildford Golf course for the first time and it will be my last. Given the heat issues this summer, I'll give most courses some leeway on conditions. But given that, Guildford is still not well maintained. The fairways and greens are subpar (pardon the pun:). The pace of play is also disappointing. Had to wait at many holes and we even had a single playing in front of us and behind another 4 some. Called the clubhouse and they actually let this guy book as a single. Brutal.

Tee boxes have divots everywhere, greens have bumps everywhere, they let way too many groups out so you have a minimum wait of 5-10 minutes at each tee box. Wouldn’t recommend anyone come here

Pace of play was terribly slow, 3.5 hours for 12 holes waited minimum 15 mins each hole. Stop overbooking tee times and crowding the course with golfers, super easy way to lose buisness as some of us want to golf. Not to just drink and bs.

Tee offs are 8 minutes apart, expect hold ups all around. Played twice here in a week, both times there were rude ppl with no etiquettes. Including almost get hit into several times when clearly course is backed up. Greens are trash, and witnessed group behind us rolling pull carts on the green.

Challenging course. Came for a buddies birthday. Pro-shop guy running it acted like a bit of a knob getting everyone together and making some of the people in our group uncomfortable about playing and made them almost feel unwelcomed. Course was in good shape for a dry summer.

Tee times are too close together, had to wait for other groups the whole round, at the first tee there were 3 groups waiting. They are trying to make money by volume but if you want to enjoy your round don't go here. Low prices bring in the bad golfers that don't follow golf etiquette. Group ahead spent 3 minutes looking for balls in the water while we waited to tee off. Greens were so slow too and course is not in great shape. This used to be a good course but now it's turning into what Tall Timbers was like, and you know how that went. Raise your prices and have happy customers by letting them play their round smoothly. You just lost a local golfer. Bad golfers play once a week maybe, good golfers play 3-4 times a week, do the math. Keep good golfers coming back.

2 par 3's in a row which are natural bottlenecks causes slow downs in the course. The marshal started berated the group in front because of the backlog even though they weren't causing it. Then he basically sat at the hole and hurried everyone through. The holes are unique but better course design would make sure that there's less waiting. The marshal could also be more polite.

The course was nice and pretty good shape. Problem is 2 groups ahead of us someone had a radio that was so loud when the group ahead of us miss hit and yelled four the guy couldn't hear and got mad. We all told him to turn the music down which he didn't and told all of us where to go in so many words. Marshall was called but 2 holes later same thing. He should have been asked to leave as a quiet round of golf meant nothing to him or anyone remotely close to him. We weren't impressed to the fact not sure if we will go back

This course would have given me and my duo a very nice round - it’s decently maintained, nice fast fairways, challenging at times greens.... The pace of play ruined this course for me. Guildford allows more bookings than regular courses, so expect to be backed up for a min. 5 hour game. There wasn’t a single hole that we weren’t behind another group at the tee, sometimes 2. Marshal nowhere to be found all game on a Saturday

I've been golfing for 15 years now and this course is the slowest pace of play course i've ever played. Had to wait for 4 groups on the first tee. By the time we reached the 4th tee, we had a 5 group wait to tee off. This is inexcusable. It took 3.5 hours to finish 10 holes for reference.

guildford golf course in surrey has become our course of play 3 days a week, its a fun interesting layout with some fun holes .the guys really enjoy the diversity of holes ,some strong par 3 s over water ,some short uphill par 4 s ,and reachable par 5 s . the greens are the best they have ever been, they are quite a challenge with the contours and speed. for the cost it provides good value for a fun round of golf ,you have an opportunity to use every club in the bag. they have a nice patio with a good friendly staff so you can enjoy a beverage and meal after your round ! a course centrally located in surrey that you should give a try ,it may become a regular fixture in your golf schedule !

I played here yesterday with 3 friends. The course was in good shape. There are high voltage towers on the course. They didn't come into play during our round. There is a snack shack after 11 holes. We had a drink and appies on the outdoor patio. I don't enjoy the set up with allowing smoking on the lower patio. The smoke travels throughout the patio. All in our group commented on not enjoying the second hand smoke experience. Service was excellent and the drinks were cold, food was very good. I would play here again, though, I would not stay for eats or a drink with the same set up.

Pros: nice condition... Good greens. Well kept. Cons: No parking.. Prepare to circle for 15 mins while players drink in the parking lot and refuse to leave after their rounds. Slow Pace of play due to overbooking.. You book a 315 tee time expecting to be done.. Not at Guildford five hours in and you walk off the course in 15. Each hole has a two group wait. Marshall told us that's how they want it. It's an enjoyable course if you don't have to wait.. And sadly all you do here is wait.

Rating strictly from a golf point of view here, can't speak for the food! I went for a very decently priced evening rate (6pm start) and even at that time the pace was quite slow (45 min for 3 holes) I actually walked off after 4 holes once I figured out that the 9th hole puts you at the VERY back of the golf course (one of the only courses I've been to where the turn doesn't put you back at the clubhouse. Also yardages seem way off on their markers, and the layout of the first four holes is terrible. Lot's of blind spots, where you can't see how far the group up ahead is, creeks forcing you to hit shorter clubs off the tee box when you should be hitting a driver.

Not a bad course, but be prepared to spend 5-6 hours here. It is definitely the slowest course in the Lower Mainland, and has been for at least the past ten years. It's safe to say that they've accepted their reputation since there is never anyone out trying to speed things along. Clubhouse is after the third hole, so male sure you stock up on food, water and overnight supplies for the remaining 5+ hours of your round!

Had my wedding here on July 14, 2018. We were in great hands throughout the planning process and the day itself! We opted for the covered patio area that is on the lower level instead of the banquet hall upstairs (loved the string lights) and got full use of the inside as a dance floor and bar. Loved the vibe. Right from the start, the coordinator, Janette, was accommodating and willing let me make as many alterations to the wedding package as needed. She was always available when I had additional questions and helped made sure nothing was forgotten. On the day of, the staff was incredibly flexible and had little extras I had overlooked (such as a cake cutting knife and table numbers that wouldn't fly away in the wind) ready when needed. In terms of customer service and affordability, they easily get a 5/5 stars! The only place I felt could have been improved was that a small accounting error in the quote was made early on in the process and wasn't caught until I settled the bill a week before the wedding. But even in that case, Janette still tried to make amends in the nature of some extra drink tickets and other small gestures. Overall, if you're looking for a mid-size venue that will accommodate your needs, is affordable, and has a super cute vibe, I highly recommend Guildford Golf and Country Club.

Had a lot of fun playing this course yesterday! It was My first time playing the course and luckily I got paired up with two gentleman (Jerry and Edmund) who were both great at taking me through each hole and where I should be going. The course itself was in decent condition despite the very hot temperatures. A couple of the pin locations were insanely difficult with the crazy slopes and elevation. On a hot day like yesterday, despite the safety Covid measures, I would still have a cart girl out as it got extremely hot and people might be in need of a cool beverage. I finished off my two jugs of ice water and was getting low come the 13th hole and was really in need of a cold drink. Make sure to bring your own cold beverages if you play when it's really hot! It was nice to see the course with nets to practice in as well as a chipping area and putting green that were also open. Overall, I had a great day of golf and despite it only being my second round of the year, I shot one of my better scores! Bring lots of cold drinks if it's hot out!!

Managed to sneak in a full 18 holes in January! The conditions were a little soggy but nothing to blame on the course. The course itself is a great deal of fun! A great mix of wide open fairways, perfectly placed bunkers, and some hazardous water features. For a course that’s always a little on the cheaper side, it has been maintained extremely well. Right in the heart of Surrey it is definitely one of my favourites! I will definitely be returning, especially once the weather warms up a little bit!

This course is not worth what they charge here. The golf carts rarely get going the first time you push the gas, just sitting there revving the engine a bit. The Marshall was constantly watching us, even though it was a rainy day and nobody was on the course. We got off early, and before I set off, I confirmed with the clubhouse that the tournament behind us was not a shotgun start, making sure there wouldn't be any issue. Around hole 3, Marshall comes along, and tells us to pick up our pace of play, as they wanted to do a shotgun start for the tournament. If you feel like overpaying for a mediocre course, go ahead, play here.

We booked the banquet room at this golf course for a business seminar in August 2017. The lady in charge of booking never mentioned that the area around the building is going extensive renovations - basically the parking area was covered with loose dirt and there was no paved walkway to get to the event venue. The venue itself seemed like it was 50 years old - outdated decor, dimly lit, worn out floor. The food was poorly prepared and the area where it was served was covered with flies, almost all of our guests avoided eating it altogether. I requested the staff to have a manager call me and left the booking in-charge three voicemails to call me back. Till this date I have yet to receive a callback explaining the poor service, let alone an apology. The worst place to hold a business event/meeting in the Lower Mainland.

Was told by the kid in the pro shop that the course was in "pretty good" shape, so paid full price..only to find myself sinking in the mud and avoiding standing water everywhere. Managed to trudge thru 12 holes then gave up. Worst golf experience I've ever had. But the worst part was being lied to and charged full price for a golf course that shouldn't even have been open!

Very under staffed for an event with huge lines all night for the bar and buffet. One of the banquet servers looked very ill, as she was shaking so bad all night she could barely put food on the plates.

Really disappointing. * Parking lot is extremely crowded. * Our tee time was delayed by 25 minutes due to a tournament running late in the morning. There were multiple groups sitting around the first tee box and we had to figure out who was before us since everything was running late. * We waited 5-10 minutes at each hole before we could tee off. This started at hole 2! The course marshall came to us around hole 6 and told us to play faster, even though we were still waiting for the group in front of us. * The entire round took us 5.5 hours from the time we tee'd off to when we finished. More time if you factor in setup and initial delay. This is unacceptable. * The course layout is confusing. There were several times when we weren't sure where the next green was. * There was some event going on in the clubhouse with loud music and announcements while we played the last nine holes. We could clearly hear this while we played. It was hugely distracting. But not only that, it didn't look like they were respecting COVID-19 social distancing protocols. Why does the club feel it's appropriate to have a party with a DJ and giveaways while there's a pandemic going on? * Multiple times we spotted trash on the tee boxes on on the course. Empty bags of chips, beer cans, wrappers, etc. Won't be coming back.

I hadn't golfed at GGCC for over 10 years. Last time I golfed there it was relatively well kept. Today, it came across as if the owners don't care about the course. It hasn't rained in over a week and the course was a boggy mess. Set that aside, the greens are in very poor shape, particularly the 18th green, which really if you want to leave a good impression should be pristine, was chewed up with some kind of green paint. Large pits and covered in sand. There are large areas in the fairways that are covered in weeds. Overall the condition of the course is pretty poor. The staff were good, attentive and courteous. Ownership needs to show that they are interested in the facility, outdoor tables were falling apart at the bar. I had a good time with my 4Some, but thought anyone thinking of golfing there should have a review that is helpful in them making their decision.

Was looking for a last minute tee time at a course that was not going to take a divot out of my golf fund. I was impressed with the condition of the course. The pro shop went out of their way to get our twosome off in front of a large group of regulars. Had a relaxing round on a great course and will definitely be going back. Thank you for a great day of golf!

Horribly maintained golf course, will not return again. 4 out of 18 greens weren't even greens, just circles of poor grass. Stepping on the fairway sprouted out mud, couldn't even walk let alone hit the ball.

When it is sunny for the prior few days, a nice course...but gets very waterlogged when it rains. I like the variety of the par 3s.

Ball marks are an issue on some greens, and it's because they want golfers to have a fun time. That does not make sense. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoy this course. Most holes are unique and are like signature holes. Some greens are very large, so pay attention to flag placement. We play from the blues as they are around 6100 yards. There are some hills, Doglegs are mainly right to left, but if you fade, it's OK, because the landing area are quite large. 2 can golf for $75 after lunch with a power cart included. Green fees are about $35 -$40 before then without cart. I play alot of courses here in the lower mainland, and elsewhere, but bang for your buck, Guildford is the best course for the price I can think of.
