After hearing outstanding reviews from everyone in our area about the new restaurant that opened up in the town over I had to try it for myself to see if it lived up to the hype and it sure did. From the atmosphere to the food and drinks everything that we tried was outstanding. Fancy cocktails and (mock-tails), great wine, awesome burgers and mouth watering fish tacos this restaurant provides a whole new menu and dining experience for friends and families in our Little Northern communities. We will definitely be back!

We are so lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber in the Temiskaming region. The staff are loving what they’re doing which makes for a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The owner, Gerry Brandon, has been in the industry for quite some time and his expertise is evident from stunning design and the incredible food. If the prices seem high to you, that’s because you’ve never had a true fine dining experience before - the quality of this restaurant meets and exceeds that of some of the finest in major cities, and so it’s prices are comparable and even competitive. Considering what you’re getting, it’s a bargain! If you’re in the area, it’s easily the best choice for dinner. I will definitely be a regular patron at L’Autochtone.

AVOID... Very overpriced $25 hamburger with expensive drinks. I left a 15% tip and upon leaving was confronted by the cook quite literally demanding more tips... 30% tip is what he said should be left! As a resident of Haileybury I recommend avoiding this establishemnt because he insults customers!

They staff was so kind to us and they catered to our toddler’s requests with gusto (there were no high chairs)—she very much appreciated the extra raspberry, the refills of water, and the opportunity to use a big kid fork for her non-dairy options. We all enjoyed the food which was well prepared and super tasty. The appetizer portions were perfect for kiddo and enjoying a few different options for myself—and the deserts were delicious (yes plural, yumm!). Hubby enjoyed his burger and beer after a long drive, and loved the lemon mayo dip for his fries (so did I!).

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The food is always cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant’s interior is aesthetically pleasing and the washrooms are artistically designed with gender inclusion in mind. The Employees never stop moving. They are always making sure their customers are being taken care of, and ensuring food is brought out as soon as it is plated. Everyone has always been welcoming and friendly to myself and my companions. I highly appreciate that they make everything from scratch and have many options available for people who can’t have gluten. They have a fancy alcoholic drink menu and outdoor seating during warmer months. I recommend this restaurant to everybody!!

Beautiful restaurant located in a remote town called HaileyBury. The food was top notch, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich with fries is definitely a must get! The staff is friendly and the decoration is beautiful.

This restaurant is a gem in Temiskaming Shores and one of the places we highly recommend to everyone. Worth the drive if for no other reason but a delicious creative meal and a happy tummy. What a true hidden gem in the North! Absolutley fantastic food, service, and decor. The staff were so very friendly and the owner chatted with my buddy and I for at least 20mins. I was there on a fishing trip in August and will be back in July! We booked at the same hotel just so we could go to L'Autochtone again. Can't wait.

Small, upscale restaurant. Superb food, attentive staff, and top-shelf booze. I really enjoy this place. I've eaten here three days in a row and thoroughly enjoyed every dish I've tried. Try the wendigo eggs. Massive steaks, be forewarned.

We were staying at an air bnb in the area and were told to try this place for dinner. Man, was it ever worth it! The service was great, the drinks were delicious and the food was better than both! My husband had the brisket, which he is still raving over and I had THE Poutine, which was amazing. I almost wish I had not eaten the whole thing so I could have more later... almost. I had the special whiskey sour cocktail which I highly reccomend if you are a sour fan! There is of course always dessert, i can't remember exactly what it was called... but it was also worth it. The portion sizes were more than enough, the ambiance was lovely and again, the service was so good. Shout out to that busboy who was on pointe all night, we see you!

Went here twice and the shining star was the burger. Delicious flavourful burger and crispy French fries cooked to perfection. Their fry bread was also very tasty. However the rest of the meals were unfortunately a miss. Salad was a bit underwhelming for 14$. Seasonal veggies weren’t cooked enough. Fish was tough and watery. However ambience was beautiful and cocktails were very fun!
