Very disappointing! My husband ordered the special (turkey dinner). He got what seemed like the tail ends of the turkey and was told that they ran out of mashed potatoes. They put fries on his plate and served that without speaking to him first. 2 mins later they brought out another plate to another customer with mashed potatoes. My clubhouse sandwich was burnt to a crisp. We were intending to get Ice cream after our meal but were so disappointed we decided to go somewhere else. We won't be going back!

Stopped at this diner as a last minute decision. We where fueling up and seen the restaurant next door with lots of locals using it. Always a good sign to me. The decor is very 50/60/70's, brought back a few memories. Enjoyed the ambiance. The staff a very attentive. The food is very good, prices are fair. Service was fast and efficient. This would be another place to add to your stop if you are visiting the area. Parking is a bit tight but should not be a problem unless you are driving a full size Hummer.

Worst experience ever at any diner/restaurant. I am giving a 1 star because I can not give a negative one. We were a family of 6. 2 of us ordered the same thing. Hers was excellent, mine was horrible to the point I was unable to eat. Hot turkey sandwich with a cheesy gravy...yuck!! Had to ask 2 different waitresses for a glass of water, and there was several extra charges, $2.00, $2.50. It was $2.00 for a very small cup of tea and coffee, that is only a 1/4 of the size of a MacDonald coffee which is also $2.00 We had Two separate bills as requested. Our bill was for 4 people. Cost over $60 for 4 of us. We will never ever dine there again. Very poor service, very poor food, and way way over priced with extra sneaky costs. Very disappointed

After a long day out with the kids this was a welcome stop. The kids had a blast picking songs on the jukebox and trying to make the servers dance. The food was exactly what you look for in a diner, this isn't fine cuisine but it's great comfort food. The servers were friendly and easy going even though we were there near closing. Great milkshakes!!

Good food at reasonable prices. I stopped in here after a long day at the beach. Enjoyed the special of fish and chips. Staff was very pleasant and patient with my kids. They have a jukebox where you can have songs played for $0.25. My kids liked that.

This place had a very cool 50's diner look and feel. We went based on a recommendation from our motel, and found the place to be very busy. Although there was tables open, the staff barely had the time to clean between running from table to table. The menu is very simple, one sided piece of paper, and a little plain. The meals were a little Luke warm after arriving at the table, but still edible. If you enjoy the atmosphere more than the meal, this place was great. We would have preferred a but more attentiveness to the details, like hot meals and clean tables.

The food was great and very reasonably priced. The milkshakes are a must try, I had the Oreo Cheesecake one, and it was delicious. Bacon cheeseburger and fries were tasty. They also have a jukebox and the atmosphere was really cool. Server was super friendly. We'll be back again soon!

Great food, fast service, hot meals, and wait staff came often to check on us. If you hungry have the Double Decker Burger platter. Second time there this summer and another great meal. Family friendly and a fun, clean environment. You can dazzle you kids with the magic of their jukebox!

A flashback to the past. Considering the island is a tourist trap( especially in the summer months) when prices for accommodation, gas and food are greatly inflated, the Starlight offers good food at reasonable prices. I ordered a "Fries with the Works"...an island favourite. My only complaint is that it didn't have cheese. I also ordered a cup of seafood chowder. It was very tasty, but disappointingly, everything was chopped fine. I saw small pieces of scallop, clams, onions and fish and very little potato( for a maritimer a good sign) although I now wonder if potato was used to thicken it? My sister ordered fish tacos and said they were good and the Mac and Cheese, a sizeable portion could be shared. It was creamy and not dried out. It was something anyone would be happy to serve to guests in their own home. Another draw back was the music selection on the jukeboxes at each table. Although not from the era of 50s and 60s, it was fun to flip through and reminisce.

This Diner used to be one of my favorite, but it is under new administration. I ordered a big hot dog with poutine. The entire meal was cold and dry. I returned it and ordered a Starlite Burger, but waitress came back with a Classic Burger. The bun was so dry, it fell apart picking it up. The burger was very thin, charred and dry. The condiments were extremely sparse. Very disappointed and will not recommend it anymore.

Starlite Diner was satisfactory. The service was great and the whole 50's dinner was amazing. However, I did not enjoy my grilled cheese sandwich. There was an unusual taste and so greasy. There was more then one type of cheese on the sandwich so it may have been a cheese I have never eaten before.

Friendly staff, good food for a decent price. Tables feel a little close together. It's like you're sitting with another group. You have to talk quietly so they can't hear you, but it's a loud atmosphere so your friends can't hear you either. We went at 5pm and it seemed like almost all the clientele was much older. The decorations were very cool to look at. All very bright colors. There's even a jukebox at each table to queue a song for one quarter. Fresh made pie, excellent. Also attached to a dairy bar if that's your preference.

We love diners..food was delicious...staff were awesome...we walked in at 10 to 8..not knowing it closed at 8, we apologized, but they served us, and also gave us free cheesecake, it was mothers day. They were in no hurry for us to leave, we stuck around and visited with the owners, about how clean and interesting their diner was, filled with memorabilia from the 50s. Finally left, and came back the next morning for breakfast, where we sat at the counter and chatted with the young server..such a great experience...loved it

Great but my husband ordered the clubhouse platter. Paying an extra 2.50 which incduded coleslaw and fries. When he asked where was the coleslaw that was missing on the platter, he was told that they only put it on the plate if requested as alot of people do not eat the coleslaw . He was wondering if he ordered liver and onions would he have to request for the onions:) The point being they should of at least asked him when he ordered if at least he wanted coleslaw, not just leave it off the platter.

Good food. Had breakfast. One issue. Fiancé had no cutlery. We asked for some. Waitress said sorry and went to get a set. Grabbed coffee pot instead and went around the tables filling coffee's. I was half way threw meal when my fiancé decided to get up and go ask waitress again for cutlery. Not fast food, so if you in a hurry, not your place. About an hour for breakfast.

This is a quaint dinner/dairy bar. The atmosphere is '50s retro. The food is delicious and the portions are perfect. I enjoyed the tasty homemade chili and my husband had the scallops and a milkshake that was great. Service is friendly and timely. Parking is free. We ate here two years ago and were looking forward to our return visit. We will be back.

Terrible experience. Asked for a high chair/booster for our 2 year old son and was seated and never provided one (apparently they dont have any but neglected to tell me just rather ignored my requests). Waitress had a personality of a wet towel. She brought our 3 drinks out at 3 different times so nobody had a drink at the same time. Offered no refills. Ordered appetizers which were proud out at the same time as our sons meal which made no sense. Our meals were brought out two minutes later so had to decide to either let the appetizers get cold or our main meal. Somehow green onions made their way into my grilled cheese. Nobody in the kitchen was wearing hair nets or gloves. Overall a very terrible experience and would give less than a 1 star if I could

Went there this evening for supper. My husband ordered the swiss mushroom burger. Had to ask for condiments to put on it otherwise. He was surprised that nothing else came on it like tomato or a pickle or lettuce. The fries were done nicely golden and hot. The burger tasted homemade and was thick and juicy. I ordered the homemade chili which was absolutely delicious. Not too spicey. Nice and chunky with a bit of sweetness to it. The side garden salad was a generous size with lots of veggies in it. All in all, a delicious meal and I would highly recommend. One of the cleanest diners I have ever visited! We would definitely visit again if ever back in the area!

Most places wont allowed this .i know i should talk more about the food it was delicious in every way but i will say what my mother told me she was a waitress for 42 years a" restaurant is as only good as its staff and cook"and last night they rated a ten . the cook came out and talked to mom about her ex periences as a waitress.the waitress was so friendly and cared about our needs a perfect ten!!! Service was great! But boy was the food bland! Was in the mood for something really tasty, so when we walked in and saw the special was a chicken and ham burger with chipotle sauce we were pretty excited! But it was bland, even with a second helping of the sauce which was ok, but the ham wasnt salty or "hammy" - if you were blindfolded you wouldn't know it was there, and the chickens breading was very bland as well. The waitress gets 5 stars, food gets 1 so I will average it out for the review.

Great place with a fun atmosphere. Went here for breakfast, enjoyed classic bacon & eggs with fresh potato home fries (more of a rarity in PEI restaurants than you might think...) for a very good price. Server Trish was very efficient and attentive, ready with coffee refills without our having to ask. The place is as clean as can be, and the operational jukeboxes on each table are a nostalgic touch.

Fun diner experience. Lots of nostalgia from the 1950's! Once Covid restrictions are lifted you'll probably even be able to use the in-booth jukeboxes. Food was good nothing special, but good. Very clean restaurant.

Love the look of the place and the food is good and reasonably priced however the service is sometimes very poor. Side note: if you have any nut allergies do not get the dipped chocolate cone, they will tell you they do have a nut-free kind but they often bring the same tools they use for that in contact with the kind with nuts in it! If I hadn’t have asked to double check it could have been a trip to the hospital because they weren’t going to warn me!

Excellent food and awsome staff. A great place to grab a quick bite or sit down with the family for a meal. It's like being at home when it comes to the meals. Nice big portions and the 50-60s vibe just puts you at ease. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Food was good, old diner atmosphere was great, value was good. Unfortunately it seemed we overwhelmed them in the off season and they didn't seem to really want us there. A bit of mix ups with orders as well. They reccomend some of our group to try another ice cream shop down the road ????. I would try it again, in season for a 2nd chance.
