Island Stone Pub. What can I say I am NEVER disappointed leaving this restaurant. They have amazing caesars. Great local PEI draft beer selections. Their fish tacos are out of this world - probably my favourite on the island. Their fish and chips is also amazing a huge piece of fish, so fresh and flaky. Crustacean BLT sandwich made up with crab and lobster on a brioche bun is also to die for. Service is always 10/10 servers are so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Eric - the owner is almost always around to ensure you are satisfied. However the seats are limited - and because of their outstanding reviews is pretty busy throughout the summer so I highly recommend calling for reservations before checking this place out. You will not regret it!!

The food was devine, but the waitress really made the experience for us. She went above and beyond and was extremely attentive. Every dish was great. The side Caesar salad was perfect, and they offered what seemed to be a homemade gluten-free bun (such a treat!). Order a bowl of the homemade chips with the chipotle mayo--an off-menu request--and finish with the chocolate torte topped with peanut-butter frosting. Would return if it wasn't a seven-hour drive.

Very nice pub. The food is really good. I love the loaded potato chips. When you eat outside, the kids have safe spots where they can entertain themselves while still being in view, giving you time to relax. The prices are decent too.

The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend the single burger however i wish i did the double it was so good. I cant wait to go back.

Man oh man what a spot! Take it from me...used to live on the island but born and raised in Ontario, and keep returning to the island every 2nd summer our so because my wife and I love it so much. The beaches, our college buddies, the seafood, and absolute gems like the Island Stone Pub. YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS PLACE!!!. my wife is a gourmet chef, and we are food snobs to say the least. AND THIS PLACE BLOWS OUR SOCKS OFF! unreal mussels, fish tacos and the burgers are the best anywhere. We have only met the husband of the married power couple that run at this joint, and he has customer service down to a tee. Very hands on, runs his operation like a true champion and it shows throughout. It's refreshing to see such a well oiled machine stay busy in a small unassuming town. One of The best restaurant experiences of our lives and that's saying something! Cannot wait to go back next summer!

Very busy and we didn't have reservations. Had drove a hour from our hotel to go eat here after reading reviews and they were completely booked. They actually made a spot for us and the service was fast ,very friendly and food was delicious and worth the price. Seafood Chowder was best ever and steak, burgers and beer battered fish was all great! Would recommend to anyone. Good family place. Ate on the patio it was a great start to our vacation.

All Aboard! A lot of times converted train stations feel like they have had the heart and soul ripped out by some trendy designer who never took a train in his life. Not this place. The real deal. I had the feeling that I could look up from my table and see the train pulling in at any minute! Great atmosphere. The service was fast and the food was good. My wife had a Cobb salad that was beautifully presented and had the taste to go along with it. I had the homemade burger and fries and they were exactly what they should be.... homemade and tasty. Kensington is not on the coast, but no place seems to be that far away on this part of the island. This whole town deserves an extra look. When you are driving there, obey the speed limits as they are strictly enforced around that area.

This pub is located in the former Kensington train station. The burgers are some of the best that I’ve EVER had and certainly the best on PEI. You can order them as single, double or triple patties if you’re really hungry! Definitely add cheese and bacon. Paired my burger with a pint of Blueberry Ale and a Market greens salad. Excellent service with the option to eat in or the patio. Our server also tracked down some crayons and paper for my 4 year old son to colour while we waited.

There is great food and great service. Yesterday was my first time there and I loved the inside and outside look of the old train station. I wasn't impressed with how small the first area was. There was not much room to move around or breathe, it was a little too crowded. But the food was definitely worth it! Prices weren't too bad either

My family and I went for dinner. Clam Chowder and Fish & Chips for supper were absolutely delicious. Kids had a hamburger and fries. I sampled the hamburger as well and it was exceptionally delicious. Inside and outside tables are available. We opted to sit outside on a beautiful night and it was a wonderful experience. At first glance this train station turned restaurant maintains the charm and ambiance one would expect from the rich history of P.E.I.; likewise, the food is nothing short of amazing. Everything on the menu is delicious. You have not experienced true euphoria until you have indulged in a bowl of heaven! They call it Bluebarb Crisp but it is like taking the most amazing dream and litterally turning into a food. Order one and when they bring it order a second so it will be ready when you finish the first.

The restaurant and atmosphere is beautiful. We vacationed to PEI a few years back and I ordered a medium rare steak. It came very, very well done. Upon complaining the waitress took about 20 minutes to come back to state they would give me a free dessert which I declined as my fellow family members were done their meals. Never did they offer to cook a new steak so we asked for the bill (which they did not even deduct for my meal which I was not able to eat) we paid at the table, got up and as we were about to leave the waitress ran over to us accusing us of not paying for our meal to which I pointed to the table and said its on the table and continued to walk out. Ruined the whole experience and have never returned there since even when vacationing in the area.

Love the setting in an old stone train station. Great pub food prepared by trained chefs, with local flair added. Friendly owners and staff make it a must for a return visit to "magical in the summer", Prince Edward Island. :)

Great location in old train depot and along confederation trail. One of the best burgers and Seafood chowder on the island. A must stop if you are near Kensington.
