Loved the wings. A little more saucy than what I usually enjoy, but flavourful as heck and I left satisfied. Staff were quick to acknowledge me and quicker to get me my beer while I waited for my wings. Even though they didn't have my favorite, they had a good draught beer selection. Would recommend ????

Kids eat free on Sundays. Portions for the kids are huge. Food was really good. Burgers homemade. Fast and friendly service. It's owned by the same people who own Erie street drive in. Will be back.

Definitely a great sports bar. They usually take pretty long to bring your food out but apart from that they've great choices on the menu. Make sure you try out their burgers! They've an arcade section in the back with pool tables. Great place to hang out with friends.

Fantastic, friendly and prompt service, drink, starter and food came incredibly quick. I ordered a drink they weren't sure how to make and still took the time to look up how to make it, which was absolutely phenomenal. The food tasted amazing, ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly, the rest of the meal was fantastic as well. Just an absolutely wonderful experience. Also genuinely love their option to play your own music over the speakers provided the song is available in the app.

Went here for my daughter's 25th birthday, her choice as I have never been here and it was wing night. We had an excellent server (I think his name was Mike, apologies if I am wrong). We had a dietary restricted person with us, and our server was patient and informative and eager to help. The wings were great with a good variety of flavors and the had local breweries on Tap.

Came here on Thursday burger night with a couple other people. Our server seemed awkward and like she didn’t care to hold a conversation. We proceeded to witness her walk past our food not one, two but THREE times as we were seated directly across from the kitchen window. She seemed a bit too occupied with talking to the older gentlemen near the bar and ignored the 4-5 bell rings from the cook. We considered just getting up and getting our food ourselves. However a bartender ended up bringing our food to us eventually after almost giving it to the wrong table. Cold burgers and fries, what a treat.

Wow! Best customer service I have received in a while. I am pregnant and picky. Went on tonight with my sister and got the fish. Our server was Danielle. When we got there it was busy and it only got busier. She was slammed, but even tho she was she still was quick to get us anything we needed. Including extra ketchup, napkins, tartar sauce and even getting me a second drink after I downed the first in less than 5 mins. I hope Gilly's realizes what an asset the servers they have are. We definitely appreciated her and if I could have given her a bigger tip I would have.

Gilly's is a nice little bar it has a pool table in the back. The food and drinks aren't to expensive and all around nice looking restaurant. The service was good and quick nothing large to complain about. Would go back.

Bland, boring, and extremely generic are likely the best words to describe both the food and atmosphere here. Your VERY typical "sports pub," complete with the overly loud and aggressive regulars screaming at baseball on TV, and non attentive servers who don't seem to care. The food was nothing to write home about, exactly as bland and uninspired as 3/4 of the other pubs in Stratford. With some of the menu items at Gilly's being the EXACT same as offerings from other restaurants in town. Copying things from another menu is not impressive or indicative of any kind of care or passion. All in all, its not a great restaurant, but also not the absolute worst place I've been. The chicken in my sandwich was at least cooked, so thats better then some places I've eaten before. Basically, Gilly's is okay if you're in a pinch after work and just want something to fill you, but not give you any real satisfaction. Nothing special.

I'm on the fence with this place. If you are looking for a place to have a beer, play pool and watch T.V. this place is it. As for the food, things are 50/50. Usually a long wait. Hot meals are often cold. Nothing more frustrating than hearing the bell ring for your order and seeing it sit under the heat lamp for 15 minutes. All the time as of late.

I've been here multiple times and the food is always great, prices are fair and service is usually really good too. Last Sunday June 9th I was in with my Girlfriend and I were in to have some drinks, food and enjoy the Hockey Game. The waitress we had was amazing. Sarena/Serena/Sarina was very friendly, knowledgeable. She was very attentive, checking in but careful not to be distracting to us who were clearly into the game. She was aware and she is a great addition to the already great staff. I will be back time and time again!

The wait staff was fantastic, however the food was cold, the mashed potatoes had huge chunks and the gravy tasted like it was diluted with a generous quantity of vinegar - great for fries but lousy on mashed. My friend's fish and chips were swimming in stale grease and our other companions burger was raw.

Great spot to have a good meal or to snack on some apps with your friends. New ownership has taken a tired restaurant and seems to have breathed new life into it and turned it back to a great option for a good time in Stratford. Check it out for yourself.

Good place to go for a good meal at a decent price. Usually go for half price burgers on Thursdays. They have a good selection of burgers to choose from plus a different feature burger creation every week for only a few dollars more than the menu burgers. Leanna is by far the best waitress we've had!

Pandemic Hockey. This was our 1st tournament since March 2020. What a great place, excellent food and staff. We visited this restaurant twice in 2 days. The first time we had a reservation for 40. Food came quickly and with no mistakes. The second day we kind of just showed up. lol. We had advanced to another game in the hockey tournament and when we asked the boys were they wanted to get lunch the overwhelming response was Gilly's. They were very accommodating to the us. They quickly seated everyone and the food and drinks came very efficient and timely. Kudos to all the staff for a great experience, especially to the guy working in the kitchen in a sling. My son already wants to take his mom there for dinner. The Waterloo Wolves U16 Team highly recommends your restaurant, me personally I recommend the fish and chips.

Always loved going to Sids... Pour House... Sorry it's called Gilly's now! Hard to keep up when the name seems to change every time you visit! All kidding aside, great restaurant. Especially with the new management. Food is a little bit more pricey than it used to be, but it's well worth it in my opinion. Go for the good food and drink, stay for the major sporting events, and pool!

A decent pub/sports bar. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. They had the world Junior tournament on through out the night. They also have pool tables in the back. Drinking an classic drink here will not happen, although they offered have more drinks or options as an alternative. Worth checking out if it meets your needs. #localguides

Check items on your bill! We came in and services immediately and very friendly, we ordered and everything was smooth, we ordered a few more beers and the food was good, the service until this point was great. We received the bill paid with 20% until we realized we were charged too many beers, I pointed out the mistake and the waiter did NOT apologize and just said ok and then returned cash to me for the beers we were overcharged and no apology or anything, rather returning the money in a rude way as if it was my fault they charged too much which makes me post this comment - check your bills!!!

Not a great experience paid $180 brought my family for dinner..The vegetables were hard as a rock not cooked at all also potatoes were under cooked the steaks over cooked .. The deserts were from the 80's the menu needs some attention .The servers need to be taught steps of service for quality experience for guests .Also they don't know the menu at all including what wines you have.There is no upselling as servers are overwhelmed and no time to give proper service to guest. Unfortunately very disappointed with overall experience food quality is most important for a great guess experience.

Excellent pub with great food and excellent servers. My husband and I went to this pub just prior to a play. We were going for a steak house but they were full and we found out expensive. I had the steak which was excellent. My husband went for the fish and chips, which was also. The server was very good and knew how to treat her customers. I highly recommend this location.

This place is a pub with great food. The service is excellent. We were here two nights in a row it was that good. I had fish and chips the first night while my wife had the steak. Both were excellent, with the fish being tasty and we'll portioned. My wife had the steak which was cooked to perfection. The server was friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The prices were very reasonable for a downtown location. It beat the competition hands down. The second night I had the steak while my wife had a pasta dish. Excellent meals and another great server. The owners have hired the right people to have a very successful business. They have a great chef and other kitchen staff. Well worth the visit. I wish say that it beats the other high priced steak houses in the area.

Mostly for the younger crowds, they have alot of pool tables available but service is very slow after 10 PM, but it's hard to even get a pool table. My friends and I left basically sober from the watered down drinks.

I was there on Thursday for their half price burgers. Food good and hot, server was great, friendly and efficient. Thats what the four stars are for. If there was a star system for the ladies washroom you would get one star and thats just because the paper products were full. I'm not complaining about locks that may or may not work or walls that guests have written on or scratched. What is with the half inch of scum buildup all around the taps, the filthy counter and drain? I easily moved this scum with my paper towel while turning off the tap, not difficult to do if it was ever done. The doors should not be opened each day until things are cleaned each day. Can't believe an owner or manager would think this is ok. Gilly's is a good pub for inexpensive food and drinks but the bathroom cleanliness is inexcusable.

Recently under new ownership, this place rocked to start. It's a great place to just hangout in and play pool with friends or with your kids. The issue is the food. I had their large nachos a month ago and the cheese was old, not as in Blue Cheese. It stunk. Today, I went with my son and his friend. The front window was really dirty, people were on the front sidewalk smoking, not a good initial impression. I played it safe and ordered the large salad, which was greens and some carrots. No creativity and no flavour. Seemed like the lettuce hadn't been washed. My kid's fries were really soggy, though I'm no expert on fries. I hope the food improves because it is a great place for kids. I want to come back, please let me know when the food improves. Also, if customers smoke, why not at the back entrance. Just a suggestion.

I called and before I could say goodbye and have a good day, the lady hung up on me without telling me my total or saying good bye.. Good food, bad attitude.

Fantastic palace for a repeat visit. Great food - 8/10. As a man with a culinary background I'm very impressed with how the food is displayed. Their burgers are 9/10. Only thing I would say they could improve on is marketing that they use local products - or maybe I'm assuming they do. True man to the local business. Outstanding service - which we all know I care 100% about. So much they have specific people walking around during hours they aren't, really serving food, but more beverages. The team and I visit often to play pool and always have outstanding service not depending on how you tip - which I find most pubs do. I am quite the tipper - no pun intended. ???? Atmosphere is 10/10. Music, pool, good people, and good display on the bar. I'd give them a 5 star but I do think they need to support more local beers.. and lets get real I'm pretty biased on that front. ????

Great experience overall, typical pub fare with a twist of quality ingredients and unique selections. Black swan beer on tap was very enjoyable and mixed drink was great. Service was efficient and we were out in under 45 minutes after arriving close to 7pm. Prices were fair for quality and service level.

Food was alright. Kind of let down by the "Maple Garlic" buffalo burger. Tasted neither maple, nor garlic, nor buffalo. Pretty sure that the Manager guy who kept saying its the "leaner beef" that gives it a different taste and that the maple garlic was very subtle. Ok so how subtle? Like only a dog could maybe smell it but not taste it subtle, or like did they cook it near garlic and syrup? Didn't taste even a hint of it. Second, pretty sure buffallo isn't beef, lean or otherwise. It was a classic burger beef burger manager guy. Just admit it. I hope you see this. Sucka

1/2 price burgers on Thursday nights are delicious! The gourmet burger with a side salad was perfect. Open until 2 am Thursday-Saturday and great accessibility after theatre. Slightly slower wait time for food (it was busy!) but worth it. New decor really freshened the place up and staff are very friendly ☺

Wings that the city of Buffalo would be proud of. I watched a friend, who's normally talkative DEMOLISH the honey garlic wings almost without a word... I didn't get to try them. The burgers are excellent, so much so that they stand far beyond most 'good burgers.' Service is excellent, even when busy. I highly recommend Gilly's.

Very very disappointed. I Always came here for wings and they were awesome! Super big, juicy and tender, just my favourite; however, they reduced the size by almost 70% they’re so tiny that are not even bigger than a regular size thumb. These are not Jumbo chicken wings as described in the menu… these are Hummingbird wings… and price is the same.

Great staff average food. Our sever was great. Real chill guy. We went on Thursday which is 1/2 price burger night. For the price, burgers were alright. If they were full price I’d not be too happy. I was ripping a good chunk of bun away as the ratio of burger to bun was off balance being bun heavy. (Maybe they are bigger on a regular night?) Fries were a little soggy and fairly dark. Standard draft selection mainly from the Coors family. With only local black swan as the craft. There’s about 5 pool tables in the back. Big tables for larger gatherings. All in all, not bad. Perfect for groups or people in their 20-somethings.

Amazing staff and fast service even though they were quite busy this past Friday. I had a small issue with my meal and the waitress had the manager come directly to our table. Offered to replace my meal with anything I wanted and still comped my portion of the check. Friends that were very pleased with their meals and the very large portions. I will definitely be returning.

The lady at the front that lets you in was a bit nosey when i was scrolling my photos for my QR code for my vaccine passport which made me a bit uncomfortable. The server was very friendly and the food was decent. I would give this restaurant a try.

Thursday march 28th worst service I've ever had. No waitress or waiter came to our table for over an hour. Even after we said something no waitress or waiter came afterwards. If you want somewhere to go on a Thursday night I would not suggest this place.

Wish I could award less than one star. I've literally never had a great experience at Gillys. The blonde bartender has literally never been polite and I'm not sure if it's because of who she is, but she should NOT work in customer service if she is that unhappy. The toilet LITERALLY FELL APART and they couldnt even care less if there was toilet paper in the dispenser, THEY HAD HARD BROWN PAPER TOWELS! They also over charged me 10 DOLLARS on a drink and when I complained they said it was my fault. Four drinks do NOT total 50 DOLLARS. Absolutely awful will not be back. (I'd also like to add I have pictures showing proof of the pathetic state of the bathroom should the owner see my review)

We were back tonight. Kitchen was very busy so we waited a very long time for our food, it wasn't even hot and one of the kitchen crew wasn't wearing a mask. We should have left. Very disappointing.

Went in for "wing night" as I was told their chicken wings were worth the price size wise. This was true, except they weren't cooked all the way through. Haven't gone back as I don't feel like risking getting sick. The service was great, the food needs work.

When visiting residents above the establishment at 10 am being very rudely interuppted by disgustingly loud music that shook the apartment when the establishment doesn't open until 11 am... clearly not caring about the apartments that are above the bar which is extremely sad and unprofessional.

Nice to be out and about, unfortunately seen many people not socially distancing. This is what will cause another LOCKDOWN. Have not learned from previous LOCKDOWN. 2 meters No hugging.

Attended Sat just b4 noon. 3 in our party. Wait staff were pleasant and efficient (3 of them). Placed a food order behind 7 other parties. Watched as the lone cook painfully plucked away 1 order at a time. Thankfully the Beibs twin showed up to drop some frys. After way too long our food arrived. I'm sorry to keep ranting but it was bad ....fries were cold...pasta was microwaved 1 too many times and my wifes quesadilla was burnt. Sorry don't usually do this but feel really ripped off. Best bar in Stratford. Great waiters and waitresses make it a worthwhile visit! Half price burger night on Thursdays is the place to be. Decent beer prices. Too many kids in there on weekends though.
