Amazing food! We originally came here for their Hainan Chicken Rice, but this dish here was a disappointment. However, all their other dishes were amazing! I'd skip the Hainan Chicken and get some of their other more popular dishes. Knocked off one star for how pricey they can get. We got a glass of Teh Tarik, and it was pricey for the amount you got. It wasn't particularly great either. I recommend the roti canai. Would love to come back to try the beef rendang!

This place is basically United Nations. People from everywhere come here to try the food. We order the roti Curry beef, Singaporean laksa and the braised tofu vegetarian chicken. The food was very good and apparently very authentic, not that I will know. While some servers seemed knowledgeable some others were absolutely lost, struggling to speak English with no idea about the menu whatsoever. But that's ok I guess. The restaurant needs an urgent upgrade but this is the type of restaurant you choose to come exclusively because of the food.

During the lockdown, the restaurant only opens on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Super busy on Friday evening for take outs. Try to place an order in advance by calling ahead of time. It's my First time to try the appetizers platter. It's good to have a little bit of everything. The roti is very fresh and tasty w the curry. The noodles is very good but the pineapple chicken fried Rice didn't have much taste. Will try other kind of fried rice next time.

Served good Malaysian food like my favourite nasi lemak and wat tan ho hainan chicken rice.. Best dishes in the house.

September 2, 2021. Our family of four went for dinner. Food tasty but very small portion and very pricey. A small bowl of beef rendang costs $18.95 and all dishes are at least $10.00 or $15.00 and above, depending on what you order. Spent over $150.00 plus tips. Not filling for my boys because the portion is so small. Won't go back there again!

one of the most authentic-tasting indonesian, malaysian, and singaporean food! love this place☺️????

Excellent food. Very spicy. The ambience and the environment makes it a perfect place for dinner

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!! We got Beef Satay, Belacan Seafood Hor Fun and Veggie Roti Cannai. Beef Satay came with 6 skewers, meat was tender, seasoned perfectly, and the satay sauce was so good that we wanted to take some home. Seafood Hor Fun came in great portion, the fried rice noodles were spicy, flavourful, and the seafood variety was amazing! Veggie Roti Cannai came with 3 Roti, that were crispy, the vegetarian curry was so-so, we prefered dipping the satay sauce instead!

Our takeout order was quite disappointing. Ordered golden Malaysian shrimp - breaded butterfly shrimp with a sweet and sour sauce. The beef rendang -$19 was a portion for one person. Roti cannai- chicken and beef was - OK. Same with the golden noodles. For the $100 we spent- we were disappointed. I know it’s been a tough year for everyone - especially business owners….maybe this is a one off experience for us and you’ll have better luck here than we did.

I had Char Kuey Teow (no wok flavour very little protein: I won’t order it again) Nasi Lemak (love it) Chicken satay (good) Bubur Cha Cha (over cooked potatoes mushy: I won’t order that again). Overall nice Malaysian restaurant. I been here many times.

A good place for south east Asian food. It's a spacious restaurant for authentic Malaysian food. The menu covers Singaporean and Indonesian food as well but the Malaysian dishes such as the noodles and curries is this place's forte. Some dishes are a bit over oily.

Ron F

The food quality is average. They cook fusion Hong Kong style and South Asian cuisine. In my opinion, they are not authentic Malaysia food. Having said that, their price is very affordable and great for family. Cozy environment and very family style restaurant. Parking is free.

Staff are friendly but food is a bit overpriced. The best deal is the weekday lunch menu. The curries & roti are the best! @gtatastingthe6ix

Loved this place. Food is great. Must try the beef and chicken satay. Seafood noodles are spicy and delicious. The chicken curry with parathas are good as well. They have a round table good for up to 10 people and there is a glass spinning lazy Susan on it. You can easily pass the food around. Place is kind of old. Needs some Reno. But overall experience was A+. I'll recommend this to anyone who wants to try Malaysian style food. Check out the photos. Yum yum. Good stuff.

I ordered 4 items from restaurant yesterday. Roti was nice and fresh. Was very disappointed with Hainanese deep fried chicken...it was re-fried and dry and oily.

Chang Fang

Way too unhealthy for my diet . Ordered a Nasi Goreng , came with so much oil floating on the plate . In a age where everyone’s concerned about their health, the cook has to be much more sensitive than this when cooking . That shows that they are not talented cooks only depend on oil to make food tasty. Couldn’t enjoy the food at all . Staff also has no care attitude , sarcastic and not accommodating.they were more interested in eating their food and checking their phones !

A friend of mine has been telling me to eat here for 4 years now so we met another couple for dinner. We ordered the mango salad, sizzling beef, deep fried chicken with coconut, and shrimp fried rice. The service was quick even though there were a lot of people already seated. The restaurant is very spacious. The mango salad was very good and had just the right amount of sweet dressing. The sizzling beef was probably the best dish of the night. The beef was tender, had great flavor, and the ratio of beef to veggies was nice. I really didn't like the deep fired chicken. The coconut seasoning was nice but the chicken was greasy and tough. The shrimp fried rice was ok, my wife found it a bit oily. Their menu has a lot of options so we most likely will try it out again.

Great place for singapore/malaysian/thai cuisine. Our go to orders are Curry with roti, laksa, and seafood fried rice Has a small retail section in front for traditional Malaysian snacks

This place is fantastic - my all time favourite Toronto restaurant. It used to be a small food court outlet and now has this spacious full serve restaurant with takeout. A huge menu of Malaysian and Indonesian specialties, tasty and big portions. Worth the trek if you aren’t nearby.

Dragan Scorpian

Amazing food. I definitely will go back here any day

Sarah Yahya

Traditional. No frill, family style restaurant. Flavors are spot on, the curry is creamy with the perfect balance of spice. All the fried rice choices are stir-fried with great "wok hay" and freshness in found every ingredient used. Enjoy!

Lundon Clark

Great food and fast service. Staff are incredibly sweet!

Adam Yim

This is our 2nd visit and was pretty disappointed with the food. The first time we went there, we thought the food was pretty much typical m'sian food and told ourselves we will come back again. On the 2nd try today, it was pretty awful, the gado-gado didn't do justice to its name. It didn't even taste gado-gado, instead of adding peanut gravy the Chef decided to substitute with curry sauce. I'm not sure what went wrong in the kitchen, may be the Chef was trying to pull a fast one to the locals who do not know how does gado-gado taste like. Whatever it is, I'm rating them 4 out of 10 today for the overall experience.

Christos C

Authentic Malaysian foods, satay, Hanna Chicken rice, curry with crispy roti. Service is prompt and friendly

Sissi Juan

The service was a bit rushed, but yet very friendly. I guess it was their lunch rush. The prices where reasonable and their portions healthy. It was my first time try Malaysian food. I asked for recommendations, and it was on point. I totally enjoyed it. One thing I did noticed was that both dishes recommended to me were rated as spicy, however I didn't find it spicy at all. If I was in the mood for something really spicy, and got this I would be a bit disappointed. I will definitely be back, great food, great service, short wait time, all at reasonable prices.

Month

Always wanted to try this place, and finnaly did last week. They have a large menu and friendly staff. I would say the menu is over priced but the portions are mostly for 2 or more. I really enjoyed there wings pic attached. I would definitely go back and try more items on the menu.

Nestled along Sheppard past Brimley, this is an excellent place to sample Singaporean and Malaysian cooking in a spacious and well-lit space. Singaporean classics such as satay skewers, Hainanese chicken rice, and of course Singapore laksa (with coconut milk) are available here. On weekends there are specials such as Penang laksa (spicy!) can be had. Great options for lunch including nasi goreng and char kway teow for reasonable prices. Free parking out front.

Been here many times and ordered take out during the pandemic. Always found the quality and portion size exceptionally acceptable? So better than good but not earth shattering? Would be giving 5 stars except for two small issues. Firstly, I always place 2 orders (one for my family and one for my mother which I drop off). They always bag them separately as requested except this last time which was annoying as I had to go through each bag to sort the correct dish going to the correct address. 2nd issue is regardless of when I place the order, I have to wait 10-15 minutes every time I get there. (whether I give them 30 minutes or 2 hours, it's never ready to go when I get there...yes I like to be punctual but having to go back out and wait another 10 minutes in the car is irritating. ) I realize this may be to hedge against phantom orders or to ensure the food is hot and fresh but I still don't like it. Four and a half stars is more realistic but hey I do what Google allows.

Coming all the way from downtown, I can certainly say that this restaurant is worth the drive! As a Malaysian, I can certainly say that a lot of the dishes were as authentic as it can get! (Can only imagine how hard it must be to get some of the spices) I had the Nasi Lemak (of course!), Assam Laksa, and Roti Canai. All were really great. Service was also great. On top of that, they have a section where they sell imported Malaysian snacks - which really made me miss Malaysia. Would really recommend this restaurant if you want a good taste of Malaysian food!

Morphia32

One of the best Malaysia restaurants in GTA. Really authentic Malaysian dishes. We have hosted parties in their grand VIP rooms and we had fun and enjoyed the food very much.

What I didn't like: Service was slow (the servers and kitchen), their website pricing is beyond out of the date (lunch special menu) everything was at least 2-3$ more. What I liked: the curry beef and hainaese chicken rice was surprisingly very good and comparable to what I've had in the Singapore! The seating with spacious and very comfortable. The AC was on point, kept your customer cool and calm while they wait for their food. Message to management: Please update your website's pricing, it's bad business. If the above can be improved, you'll definitely have the potential for all 5 stars

Tehmina Peshimam

The atmosphere and decor gives me so much nostalgia. The food is amazing and tastes just like when I was in Singapore, which brings me back many memories.

Kenneth Lai

Nice food, but not really that good in customer service. Bill not only includes HST, but also service charge too. End up paying for that even if you give tips????

Gourmet Malaysia is known best for the variety of its authentic & scrumptious Southeast Asian dishes, such as Malaysian, Singaporean, and Indonesian. The restaurant itself is spacious, perfect for family & friends gathering. Our must order: * Singapore Laksa - Vermicelli served in coconut curry broth that is fragrant, creamy, and rich, topped with fishcake, prawns, chicken, tofu puffs. If you like spicy, you can request it to be spicier. * Char Kway Teow - flat rice noodles stir fried with huge-succulent shrimp, squid, eggs, bean sprouts. So delicious! * Roti & Curry - my fave part is dipping the roti to the curry. You can choose either beef or chicken. If you’re missing your hometown or travel to Asia, checkout this spot in Scarborough to satisfy your cravings. They’re under renovation right now and will reopen soon, can’t wait to go back to see the new look of it.

jeevan jeevaraj

Two dishes here are must tries: the Singapore Laksa and Roti with Curry Beef. Laksa is a soup using a coconut curry broth with rice noodles, fried tofu, chicken, shrimp and a few other little ingredients. It's an out of this world, rich, flavouful, mildly spicy bowl (like with ramen first enjoy the fragrance then sip and savour the broth alone before digging in) that is just right in size for one person (found in the regular menu). But go as a duo and also order the Roti with Curry Beef. The roti has a delightfully crispy exterior, chewy interior and the curry is yummy with the protein of your choice (I prefer the beef over the chicken). Share the two dishes between you and that is a truly satisfying meal (if you do not mind a lack of veggies). Update February 2019: Still good food and also liked the rice wrapped in the leaf and the chinese broccoli.

The most authentic Malaysian food you can find in Torobto. Staff is exceptional. Great experience every time.

I'm from Malaysia. I have been craving for Malaysian food after I arrived here and someone recommended Gourmet Malaysia to me. 1) I have ordered 4 different dishes but too bad, I was not able to order the type of fish that I wished to have. 2) The Kong Po taste exactly same back home. However, the sambal petai sauce was not what I expected. The rojak and calamari were okay but not the same taste as back home. 3) Be prepared with your pocket if you wish to enter this restaurant. The dishes were a little overpriced.

Natasha A

This place is quite authentic per my friends from Malaysia. The appetizer rojak was interesting, did not have tofu but had cucumbers, and the sauce was not spicy. The chicken and beef skewers didn't have the fragrance of being charcoal grilled. The coconut rice was cooked a bit too soft, but had very nice coconut flavour. The noodles were broken too short, but had nice spicy kick.

my first time to this restaurant and i love it all the dishes we ordered were so delicious the servers were very helpful and the owner was very friendly. The price of a very reasonable. I will come back and I recommend this place

Extremely disappointing! Bad customer service and horrible food! Flies all over the dining area and unhygienic ambience. Ordered mee goreng and was bought a laksa curry. When told this is not what I ordered the waiter argues that that is what I ordered ????. Extremely rude. The worst part is the mee goreng I was served later was a laksa curry stir fried noodles. If anyone has eaten meet gorwng at this place. Please tell me if the picture attached is even close to it.

Hana Bary

Tasty and well packaged for takeout. Fast cooking and pickup (order by phone in advance).

Michael Woo

Very authentic Singaporean/Malaysian food, highly recommend! My favourite dish is Hainanese chicken rice, it’s a national dish of Singapore. This restaurant definitely has the best Hainanese chicken rice in GTA, in fact, the best I’ve had outside of Singapore! Super friendly price, large portion, and amazingly tasty! Tip: mix the ???? sauce with rice!

Ben Quach

It was good although a tad expensive for takeout. The food was good overall. The Crispy Butter Prawns were very good, and very aptly named. Large shrimps fried in a crunchy and crispy way with a bit of egg, and eaten whole including its shell and head. Would recommend this dish if you are thinking about ordering from here. Roti Cannai was good. Form the choices of chicken or beef, we choose Curry Beef. The Curry Beef was a little oily but still good. The order came in a small cake box. Beef Rendang was good. Indonesian Fried Rice came with a fried egg. Also good. Nasi Lemak - I don't recommend this. Received white rice, and not coconut rice as advertised. Didn't taste like how I remember Nasi Lemak tastes like in Singapore or Malaysia. It was mostly white rice. The prices seem high compared to the quality of ingredients and skill of the kitchen. I could justify the prices possibly if I received table service. However, this was takeout. And I'm not sure if I would eat at this restaurant again. The people at the restaurant don't appear to be welcoming. When I picked up my order, the staff didn't say hello or asked why I was there. They weren't rude. Since it was quiet and my order hadn't finished being packed yet, I tried to ask a few questions about their most popular dishes. The people seemed annoyed and wanted to return to their chatter. Again, they weren't rude and my interaction with them was only a few minutes, but it was enough to be off-putting. The furniture appeared grimey, rundown, and outdated. Most of the lights weren't even on. It was dark and dim inside. It was brighter outside than it was inside, despite being ~8pm. It was as though I ordered takeout from a Fallout shelter. Open only on the weekends. Available on food apps. Their website takes online orders, and is terribly designed for both mobile and desktop devices. Online orders through their website only takes e-transfers. Worth a try for the Crispy Butter Prawns, but we're not likely to return.

if you are looking for a great Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean food, definately try here!... high chairs available, tons of parking on location and wheelchair accessible enterance. They cater small to large crowds, fast attentice service, reasonable pricing for the delicious food they have...:)

Authentic and delicious take on both Malaysian traditional and modern dishes. Compliments to the staff for their great and friendly service and distinctful atmosphere.

Been coming here for over 7 years and have honestly never been disappointed. The food is incredible and there’s a vast and delicious vegetarian section. The vegetarian Singapore laksa and Vegetarian Nonya mock chicken are my favourite. It tastes just like it would in Malaysia. This place is such a gem.

One of my favourite restaurants. I really enjoy their curries. Great service. Staff are busy and efficient but they could be a little friendlier. I often do take away as well.

I have to rant about a delicious dish. The curry lamb casserole is by far the best dish on the menu. Get the coconut rice and smoother it with the curry sauce. I've been here at least 20 times and I've ordered the lamb 19 times. The restaurant is not fancy and service is decent. Portions are generous so you won't be leaving hungry.

Sonnam N

Early Dec 2011. Nice South East Asia cuisine, genuine and original Malay, Indonesian, South Asian, Thai, South China and fusion makes. One has to be native to know the differences. Prices, staff, customers are decent. The setting and decor are a bit old now since it has been established many decades, I supposed. Serving and service are prompt and in time. But for one time, the steamed rice in the Coconut juice/oil chicken rice dish is just luke warm. For me, hot rice is my favorite, sorry chef. Next round I would request it at ordering. The accompanying sauce and dried preserved tiny fish are delicious. The Thai fish cake is a bit soft comparing to the take at another Thai eatery in the Woodbine/ Steeles district. Anyway, definitely would return to taste out other recipes. ????????

Anastassia Muhd Din Fikri

Want an authentic Malaysian/Indonesian dishes? This is the right place! The atmosphere was great, the service was quick. There are dishes that need time to prepare, they are spelled right in the menu so we know in advance. For those who likes hot spicy food, look for the dishes with one or two chili symbol, yum!! The Singaporean Laksa is tasty, my favorite here is the Prawns with Fragrance sauce. As for vegetables we ordered the Kangkung with Belacan sauce. The Beef in the House sauce was delicious. The very special thing in this place is that they do not serve pork, so all dishes in the menu are halal. We need to come back again to try more dishes.

Lena Liu

Food was pretty good, service was great, it was very clean. Not the best Malaysian food I’ve ever eaten but definitely still very tasty and the price was great for the portion size . I would come back if I was in the area.

What shall I about this Gourmet Malaysia. We are a frequent customer of this restaurant since 2014. Alhumdulillah my parents made us travel since childhood and we know the food taste . I was in Malaysia for 3 months and I used to miss the Malaysian food in Canada but when I found the restaurant we became their regular customer. Their Nasi Goreng is our top priority whenever we go . Asam Chicken is the favourite dish from their menu .

Katie Te

I highly recommend this restaurant. Great food, good service. Well priced .

I have always been a fan of Gourmet Malaysia since I was a kid. My family would come here for a quick lunch, and head over to Woody Woodchuck to spend rest the afternoon (Yes, THAT long ago) lol. Coming back here every time brings back a lot of memories ^^ The restaurant décor inside remains the same- a classic, old school-styled restaurant. Menu is even more nostalgic with the unforgettable Disney font! Items I would highly recommend trying: #14 - Gado Gado nonya mixed salad in peanut sauce (fried tofu, not spicy) #18 - Special Gourmet Malaysian Platter (it has Thai fish cake, chicken and beef satay, golden shrimp rolls, mango salad, spring rolls) #33 - Roti Cannai is a MUST (comes 3 pcs of crispy roti with choice of chicken or beef curry) #161 - Beef Rendang (not spicy) #191 - Peneng Char Kwei Teow (aka fried hor fun with mixed seafood, not spicy) #194 - Seafood scrambled egg fried hor fun The menu is absolutely extensive; there is definitely something for everyone. Vegetarian options available (a whole big section too!) It was very nice meeting, Yummy, the owner of Gourmet Malaysia during my most recent visit. He is very friendly and sociable, and he makes you feel right at home! His wife is actually the head chef of the restaurant, and leading the staff in creating all these gourmet dishes on the menu. Can't wait to visit again! I'm craving hor fun ^^ Until next time!

This restaurant serves delicious Asean food in large portions. You definitely won't go home hungry after. The roti is one of the best I've had in Toronto. The coconut rise is also delicious. The Singaporean Laksa was also very flavorful with fish cake, shrimp and bean curd as toppings.

Zack Dawood

I have eaten here several times over the years and always kept going back because the food was very tasty, but the last two times the food was horrible, oily and stale tasting. I took a group of friends here and the chicken was raw!!! I didn't say anything to the server as I didn't want to make a scene and ruin our evening. I will not be going back ever. The prices have increased and portion sizes decreased. If any of my guests fall sick I will be reporting this restaurant.

Farzana Anisha

Great little place for some quick Malaysian food. I especially love the roti cannai with chicken curry! Very quick and friendly service as well.

Berjis Dastur

Their veggie curry with roti is one of the most satisfying comfort foods. Only open Thursday to Sunday right now tho ????????

Eddie Chan

Food is very good. Very flavorful and authentic. They have a lot of menu choices. I loved the peanut dishes, so rich in flavour. I have been here two times during the week in the late evening and loved the food both times. This time I had the hot sizzling satay beef and the curry lamb casserole, both were amazing. I would eat here again. The decor seems like it can be improved. I would update my review when I'm back and try other menu items and try the washroom.

Weijia Zhang

Really good. I haven't had many Malaysian food so I don't have much to compare to. The food was delicious thought.

Gotta try their beef rendang! There are many other authentic dishes to recommend, but that is one that is top of mind for sure.

Great food. The satay, roti canai, samba eggplant are highly recommended. Their 'la cha' is also unique.

A good place to get authentic tasting Southeast Asian food. We go the nasi goreng ($14), chicken satay ($13), and char kuey teaw ($12). The noodles and rice dishes will have very minimal protein in it, hence the price point for that portion. I would recommend to order one noodle or rice dish and one protein as a main dish if you are able to share both dishes with your company. The fried rice had lots of wok hay flavor and aroma and the rice had the perfect consistency!! The char kuey teaw with a bit oily, but still enjoyable. The satay was the best thing we ordered!! The curry sauce that comes with it is super flavorful and the chicken was very well cooked-- tender and juicy. Highly recommended!

Madison Mackenzie

The store is big but it looks too old and they don’t try to renovate it or at least decorate it a bit better. The menu is huge which indicates that all these items have been sitting in the fridge for too long and obviously they cannot make everything at that time. Service was good except one waitress who was very rude. The food though was horrible, the only thing I liked was the Indonesian fried rice. I wasted my money and my time in this restaurant and this proves that sometimes the good reviews don’t mean that the restaurant is actually good.

Alan Ravadilla

Very good authentic Halal Malaysian food. Lots of variety to try. Good for group setting.

Kimberly L

Ordered Curry chicken, 1/4 of broken potato piece, two pieces chicken that were coming off of the bones. Other than roti canai, food was awful. My partner ordered veggie roti canai, he only got gravy and roti.... we were hungry so ate it and left... not going there again or even going to uber eat it. Nasty food, it will make u sick... service staff were rude and not to be found anywhere. Next table people got wrong order, the service girl dropped food on the lady... didn't even apologize. The lady was not even rude to the service staff... horrible experience. Response to the owner: it's sad how you're so full of yourself. If you were listening to your customers, may be you will get better review. I been to your location twice. I would never wish you close down, rather improve your services and consistent food good food quality. All the best yo you. Please don't be nasty, rather be professional!

Vincent P

Had the spicy fishhead soup noodle. Perfect amount of spices and just sour enough. Roti was amazing, as always. I'd come here just for the Roti

Can’t say enough about the service here I’m a picky eater and always place very specific orders the staff are always polite and respect and very patient. I recommend me go reng

The place does not give off any unique vibe, but the best thing about this place is obviously the food! The waiters are all pretty nice and there isn't too long of a wait when it comes to the food coming out. It's nice to know there's a place where I can enjoy some Malaysian and Indonesian food.

Large and varied menu. A mix of Asian flavours from Indian, Malay, Filipino and Chinese. We kept to the milder dishes for the kids. They loved the skewers. The Roti did taste very Indian and the noodle dishes tasted very much like Chinese. No real stand out dish but we enjoyed our dinner with friends. The servers were quite understanding when one of the kids had a little accident. Very family friendly place.

The food was really delicious. I've had quite a few laksa in Malaysia and this one was pretty good. I enjoyed the flavours. The roti with the beef curry was absolutely amazing. The roti was fresh, soft and delicious. The beef curry was really well made. The rice however was plain but I think only in comparison to the other flavours. The noodle was really good also. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. I would definitely return to this restaurant for good Malaysian food.

I like their laksa. Portion is big. Their curry beef is so good. Portion good for one person. Waitress served slow . It’s a native Malaysia restaurant which you can purchase some stuff there imported from Malaysia. They closed on either Monday or Tuesday.

I have been going to this place for years. My favourite is the Singapore laska. The flavour is amazing. Their curry is also delicious.

Authentic Malaysian cuisine at its best, favourites include Mei Goreng, Char Kwai Teow and Singapore Laksa. Award recipient of the ORHMA Award - Restaurant of the Year, on Outstanding Achievement & Contribution to the Asian Restaurant & Food Service Industry.

Very disappointing food. We used to love coming here. Tried it after 2 years and food was not good. There was less beef and more fat pieces in the rendang. Green Curry was watery and flavorless. Malaysian fried rice was very greasy and not fresh. Overpriced. Will not return.

We eat here quite often and have tried many things from the menu from the curry, Hainan chicken, kwe tiao, noodles, etc. The favorite is still the seafood penang char kwe tiao spicy????????. It comes with prawn, fish cake slices and squid. Found out recently that they can also change the kwe tiao to yellow noodle and we've ordered both ever since. Two order of this costs almost $30 with tax. Make sure to ask for the belacan hot sauce on the side as well as it's amazing! We've also ordered the ice kacang before which was good.

First time here but this place has been around for as long as can be remembered by many! I don’t even know what took me so long to come here, but it was definitely worth it! A southeast Asian restaurant with great flavours and such a wide variety of dishes, there’s bound to be something for everyone! They will have dishes that you may want to try something new alongside something you already know too! First time trying ikan bilis and gado gado, and it’s was such a treat! Ikan bilis is basically anchovy in a sambas sauce and this isn’t like your anchovy on a pizza, this was so tasty! The texture was tender and had a nice little chew to it which I enjoyed. Gado gado is a salad consisting of fried tofu or tempeh drenched in a delicious peanut sauce. This was such an awesome dish filed with flavour and so many different textures! The beef rendang, curries, and the noodles were also very tasty and flavourful! These dishes are what you’d expect and possibly already know of, but still so good! The service was on point! And the owner took the time to get to know us and as well ensure everything was great! Definitely a place to go to with the family and they have that old school style Chinese restaurant vibe which is very nostalgic. Great job! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics and more amazing content!

Great place for local southeast Asian food. Not 100% authentic, but good enough for somewhere halfway across the earth. We had fried rice, chicken and beef satay, roti prata and lamb curry, sambal okra, oyster sauce beef and broccoli. Portions were generous and it’s definitely affordable. Waitress was helpful and we really enjoyed ourselves this meal. Plus point: Halal food! ????????

Early Dec 2021. Not busy this time. The food are served fast. Staff are nice. Had fish cake and coconut juice steam rice for lunch. Fish cake is bit soft while rice luke warm only but the taste and ingredients on the rice dish is yummy. Would return and try out other recipes.

It's a decent Malaysian restaurant in Scarborough. Been here a few times in the past. The price and portion are reasonable. Mango Chicken is one of my favourite dish. Staffs are friendly too.

Delicious Halal Malaysian Cusine. This is one of the finest Malaysian restaurants in the GTA. The best dishes are Roti with Chicken Curry and Kung Po Fish Fillet (Spicy). The fried rice and chicken is satay is also very good.

As authentic as you can get, if you into foods from the region. Explore, be open mind, for those on the fence. Butter shrimps dish is my favourite. There are vegetarian dishes.

Amazing Malaysian food. My favourite in the GTA! Their food is spectacular, very authentic and true to the local taste back in Malyasia. It doesn't hurt that the prices are incredibly reasonable and the staff are very accommodating. An amazing addition to Toronto, thank you Gourmet Malaysia! P.S. I usually get take-out. The restaurant decor is a bit too 90's retro for me.

The food is authentic and service good. The air conditioner broke down pin the day we were there and hence I am giving them a 3 instead of 4

As a Malaysian, I was overall pretty satisfied with the authenticity of the dishes. We were 2 people who had 1 appetiser, 2 main dishes and a dessert of nyonya kuih. The coconut rice for the nasi lemak was spot on and so were the other accompaniments but I would’ve liked a bit more spice in my sambal. There wasn’t much meat on our chicken either as compared to the rice. The char kuey teow was yummy and but the taste distribution was a bit uneven. Overall, the service was excellent and food was reasonable and ‘sedap’ for the big portion size.

This place is DELICIOUS! My go-to family style restaurant!!! I'm in love with their noodles, coconut chicken, and roti!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We ordered Indonesian fried rice, fish fried fillet, green curry chicken and a Malaysian beef item. Green chicken curry was good, rests all items are tastes like any other hakka chinese, nothing special. I didn’t find any different taste. Pretty basic. Halal restaurant and overall its good family fine dine.

I'm sad to say I’m disappointed in this restaurant, I used to love coming here for dinner. But the services and food seems to have went downhill for quite some time. Today was one of the worst experience I had at this restaurant. I went late at night, so it wasn't even busy at all. I still had to wait 40 minutes for my food, while watching every other guest that came in after us got their food way ahead of us. It felt like they totally forgot to put our order in their kitchen. This lead me to roam around restaurant to find a waitress that could help us look for our food. Secondly, when the food finally came, my chicken dish was under cooked. It's pretty disgusting to serve raw chicken, while it look like it's leftovers from late night services (barely any meat left on bones and dry meat). It's quite disappointing, and their waitress was not apologetic at all. I would not recommend this place anymore.

Good food. Its only open 4 days. Make sure you call before you go

Great authentic malaysian cuisine. Delicious and fresh food. The Singapore laksa is a must try. Be sure to try out the shakes and drinks as well, you won't be sorry.

I went there with my family for celebrating Christmas. I ordered nasi lemak, manggo salads and sambal eggplant…. after 30 minutes i feel stomach ache and bloating. After I arrived at home, i went to washroom and it’s ended up i have diarrhea. Please don’t go there, I know the foods are yummy for asian people, but I don’t know i got diarrhea ???????????? I have never feel like this before as I always eat asian foods.

Came for dinner. Sambal Kang Kong was very good. Quite pricey for a veggie at $16.95 but portions were generous. Hainan Chicken was not too bad too. Not exactly what you'd find in Singapore / Malaysia but tasty enough. The Hainan Rice was fragrant and good too. Then came the disaster. The Ikan Bakar (Sambal Stingray) smelled somewhat of ammonia. We couldn't finished and decided to take it away but by the time we reached home, the ammonia smell was so strong we dumped it. Would have loved to rate this place 5 stars but the Stingray was a strong miss.

Delicious food with equally delicious vegetarian and vegan options. Their spice and flavour is on a different level, the chicken nyonya curry is our go to favorite. Call ahead to order so you don't have to wait too long

It’s our first time trying Malaysia food. It’s quite different. They have fruits with spicy salty sauce which turns out to be really tasty. The price is a bit expensive considering is not a huge portion. But every single dish has lots of flavour, and if you order right, every flavour is quite distinct.

Food was ok, mee goreng is always good. I miss when it used to be across the street, for some reason the food tasted alot better then

If you want good Malaysian food in scarborough then this is the place to be. They have a huge selection of Malaysian dishes to choose from. Also their roti is the bomb! Their food is delish and tasty! I also love that they have a huge selection of vegetarian dishes. A must try :)

Amazing food. Everything tasted soo delicious. Full of flavour. Very tender. Enjoyed every dish. Very polite customer service. Good vibe.

Food was just good and did not leave me with an impression that I would come back. Food was on the oily side. Dishes were $10 +

Wine & Dine Roadies

The best Malaysian food in GTA. All the icons icon Malaysian dishes are available at this restaurant. Service was friendly and fast.

Recently went to this restaurant in the east part of Scarborough. I was quite impressed by the vegetarian menu they had. If you're a vegetarian like myself, definitely try this place out. They have quite a few different options..vegetables and mock meats of some of your favourite Malaysian dishes. Definitely coming back to this restaurant!

Great food, great prices, huge portions. Highly recommend this place.

Fantastic Malaysian food for a medium price. There is another Malaysian restaurant on Major McKenzie that is good but a lot more expensive. They are the only restaurant serving one of my favourite dessert: Ice Kachang (I would go there just for that dessert). They also have a little section selling Malaysian food, desserts, and jams (I love the Kaya which is a coconut and egg jam).

First off we had excellent service! Our waitress was so friendly, patient and offered us her suggestions. Having a bunch of Singaporeans with me, and having lived there myself for two years, we knew what we wanted. Now in terms of the food, we ordered a bunch of the standard traditional dishes. They were all pretty good. The Char Kway Teow was excellent, the beef rendang was also pretty good as was the beef satay. The rojak was way too fishy. The omelette was also not authentic. The curry chicken and roti was excellent. The tofu was also tasty, but what isn’t if it’s deep fried! Overall great experience and worth a drive up to Scarborough from downtown Toronto.

Growth Warehouse

The place was spacious and clean. I went with my other half and we ordered a single dish, curried vegetable casserole, with steamed rice..expecting to order more if we liked it. The dish was larger than we expected and was delicious! The staff was attentive and the prices for dishes were very reasonable. We will return to try other dishes...perhaps with friends so we can sample more of their delights. Recommended!

Found 2 pieces of SHARP plastic that is the same material as the ones they use in the black plastic bowls. Sharp enough to slice somebody's throat open if swallowed.

Danny Bee

Beef satay tasted good .. noodles and malaysian fried rice with sea food tasted fine but sea food -- I think seafood wasn't fresh and my stomach + entire internal system got upset ... I usually never give negative reviews but overall hygiene is not good .. needs clear improvement

Stephanie

The ikan Bakar is a must try if you're looking for something unique. Try the roti canai if you're looking for a safer option. They're both deliciously!

Frances Watt

Ordered laksa and rotis with curry for take out on a Saturday night. Heads up: although the menu says two chilies for the laksa, it’s not super spicy. Very flavourful and a reasonable price ($13 for a huge serving). Quick, pleasant service.

Jacinta Wong

Usually restaurants with huge menu selections don't do well in terms of quality, but I was wrong when I tried this place. The food is stunningly tasty. Decor is a bit old fashioned, but who cares when the food is so good.

Very good Malaysian food place. All the dishes we ordered tasted great. The service is fast and the people there are very friendly. They also sell different types of sauces, it is worth checking it out.

They used to charge tips as a service charge before. Not anymore. Food is very good quality, but a bit pricey for my own expectation. PS: website says they do have lunch special, but they don't. Should update the site.

S C

They have a lot of options and very good Malaysian food. Love the fact that they’l serve Halal food. Been there many times. I especially recommend their Roti Cannai with chicken / beef.
