We went here with a couple of friends from the QC City area. First time for all of us so had no expectations. It's was really great. The look and feel is old school steakhouse with a modern twist. The attentive staff were more than happy to bring a sample plate of their cuts of meat to show the different styles available. The wine selection was good. The meals were well prepared - though one of the four orders was not cooked as ordered BUT quickly corrected. All in all a great location with free interior parking when validated by the restaurant.

The service is excellent! The filet mignon medium is good, though not excellent, and the delmonico medium is too dry, honestly disappointing. But there are other options you can try. The black beer, 8.0% tastes like coffee with vinegar. Maybe our choices were not the best, though we usually order filet mignon, bavette or aged steak, medium and get some more satisfaction. All in all, I would give it a try if you are not all about taste and texture and look forward to a nice dinner with a couple of drinks and a 200 CAD bill.

First of all... I love the restaurant... it was my 4th or 5th time there.. And I guess I will leave it to that.. I won't go back... maybe try again in 6 month.. the foods were good.. I didnt like the service! I paid my bill, gave 40$ tips (350$ total)... gave my opinion on the waitress on how she could've been more present... you know.. When someone talk to you, and half of their body is ready to leave ... Are you hurry to go serve a much better table or...??? I was with my 2 kids... and my cousin.. Maybe at first, we were there for the oysters special... so we ordered 15 oysters each.. And 1 kid meal only for both of my kids (4 and 6)... maybe she didn't find it worth it .. Not much tips to make on our table... but after.. I still gave her the benefit of the doubt.. Smile here and there.. I cracked some joke to make it less awkward.. Ordered bottle of wine... Tomahawk ... I own a restaurant.. I love my job!! I love customer service!! I'm by far difficult...! I understand that some people do it to pay bills.. But if you are doing it.. I was looking forward to sharing an exceptional meal with our association. The waiter, Guillaume, was very pleasant and helpful. Ideally, he would receive 5 stars. I ordered my steak rare. When received it was well done. I sent it back, something that I have rarely ever done. Guillaume was gracious and understanding. Meanwhile, 15 minutes later, my table I was at had finished eating and I continued to wait for my plate. Finally, almost 20 minutes after requesting a new steak, I received, with great expectations, the new plate. You can imagine my surprise when I received a steak almost identically prepared to the one I had sent back. Overcooked and visibly not what I ordered. Guillaume called out the Maitre D'. He confirmed that the steak was inadequate. Again Guillaume apologized profusely. Guillaume, if you read this, you deserve a raise. The price definitely worths the food! It’s one of our greatest experience in Quebec City. We ordered two dishes but we got two same dishes. We were pretty surprised that the waiter told us we can keep it if we want and it’s not charged. And he was getting our another order. The service is absolutely wonderful. I mean, it’s good. But it’s not the best steakhouse I’ve been too. Also, location-wise, it’s kind of a weird choice. It doesn’t feel very warm at all. The waiter REALLLLYYY knew his stuff. The service was very good. It’s not the best steak I’ve eaten, mostly for that price. It is quite expensive for what it is. I’m glad I went, everyone keeps saying it’s the best steak, I honestly don’t agree. I would rather spend that money elsewhere. We arrived a little bit before our reservation, they didn’t seem to know what to do… We tried going to the bar, no one really came to take our order and we were told seats (at the bar) were booked. I have never heard that in the past…

We had some cocktails, the tomahawk rib steak medium rare with Yukon Gold parmesan fries and desserts. About the pièce de resistance, the Tomahawk is a nice piece of meat. However, it was sear too much of my own taste. I understand that you need to sear it to get the maillard effect and that amazing mouth watering taste but it was too much. Searing should not make the meat black, specially with a nice cut aged months... Fries are cut too thin and do not taste anything but grease. Stay away from the desserts, it's pre-prepared and from another place. The cocktails are pretty good and the service is perfect. For what I got, I would say it's overpriced, if everything would have been perfect : better searing, better fries and homemade desserts, then I would probably not be disappointed.

All aspects of the meal, from the complimentary jerky to the roasted vegetables and wine pairing were exceptionally savory. I never knew mashed potatoes could taste so good. Eating the 52 day, dry-aged ribeye was heaven. The seasoning, crust and fat complimented the meat perfectly and seemed to melt away while chewing. The price was less than half of what I would pay to re-experience the food, atmosphere and service provided by La Bête. If they don't already offer it, an added treat would be to have a tour of their fridge.

This restaurant offers an amazing range of steaks, both small and large so everything is covered. The service was brilliant and although the tip was included I felt that the server completely earned the tip I gave her. My starter was beautifully cooked and presented, cannot fault it. The desert was the same. My issue with this restaurant as with many restaurants in NA is the meat and fries were massively over seasoned. Maybe it's where I originate from Europe where food is generally less seasoned and is often left to the consumer to season themselves, but I couldn't help but think that a steak that was cooked to perfection was ruined by way too much salt. The parmesan and rosemary fries were the same, all I could taste was the rosemary and any flavour from frying in duck fat was completely lost. It's a shame because this restaurant comes so highly rated and I paid a premium price to find this out...

I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try the wagyu bib. I was very disappointed. The meat was far from tender and far from what I have tasted in other restaurants. The ribeye on the other hand was delicious. Anyway, apart from my meal, I loved the Mac & cheese, the duck fat fries and the octopus salad. Le ribeye par contre était délicieux. Bref, mis à part mon repas, j’ai adoré le Mac & cheese, les frites au gras de canard et la salade de pieuvre.
