We ate outside on the patio and I thought the service was great. The waitress was nice, I ordered the bacon cheddar burger and it was delicious! I would definitely go again!
Our server, Sam, recommended drinks and meals. Exceptional blackened salmon and steak. Price was as expected. Very enjoyable!
The food here is great - Earls has always been a favorite of mine in terms of the quality of their food. The service though, is where I am starting to have a bit of an issue with this restaurant. Half the time the girls that work here are standing around chatting with their coworkers or friends that show up to visit them while I patiently sit waiting for a drink refill, my check, etc. This really sends a message to customers that they aren't important. The manager really needs to put their foot down on this matter. When interacting with you, the staff are friendly at least though. I wouldn't go so far as to say I would never come back, but there is definitely room for improvement.
Service was good and so was the meal
The service was confusing. There were three people who were providing us service. One took our drink order, another our food order and a third brought our food. The third server took care of anything food related. The burgers were bland and the meat was dry and burnt. The coffee was too strong and no refills were offered. The teriyaki chicken was good, flavourful. The food was brought out fast. The atmosphere was nice. A good place for a conversation.
Update: After my negative review Madison reached out for more information and did a fantastic job getting me back to give them another try. This time the server, manager and food was top notch. Thank you Service and wait time was horrible. Felt bad for the manager that had a pretty busy restaurant with 2 servers.
I usually have above average experiences here with my family however our most recent experience has made us never want to return. For my mothers birthday this year she really wanted to visit this restaurant to enjoy her favorite clam chowder with fish and chips. We phoned in to make reservations around 5 PM on June 24th this year. We asked about reservstions and it was to our delight that the lady on the phone said there was no reservations needed. No line up even just come on in. We thought that was perfect! As we only live 5 minutes away, we left right away. It was upon arriving that we were asked for how many? We said 5 and she asked us if we had made a reservstion. Confused as we were just told we didnt need a reservstion, we said we did not have one. We were then told that it would be an hour and a half wait. The cherry on top was the fact that the restaurant was not evenbusy from what we observed. We did not appreciate being lied to on my mothers special day. Thanks
I've had great experiences here, the staff are outgoing and super attentive. Renee, Ross Clayton, and Meghan are definitely doing a great job! The happy hour isn't too shabby either!
Great time, great food (as per earls regular), and a great server named Vinny
First and last time eating at this place! I have never experienced service like this in my life. Was almost 20min after being seated before our waitress asked if we were ready to order. Decided to order the 8oz sirloin cooked medium rare for dinner. First off the steak was definitely not medium rare, more like medium well with some parts well done. Food took a while to come out as it took over 30min which made the experience even more disappointing. A friend of mine who was also dining with us decided to go with a burger. He asked if he could get his medium well. The response he got from the waitress was surprising, it was almost as if she was trying to put him in his place. She definitely could have been a little more professional with how she responded to the situation, instead she came off as being rude. When it came around to pay, our waitress was constantly looking over our shoulder almost as if she was trying to pressure us into tipping more. She made us feel a little uncomfortable, making remarks that were uncalled for. She even went as far as tossing my friends card onto the table after paying, which was definitely unprofessional. Definitely would not be coming back to this dining establishment.
The service was great! All the servers were extremely nice, and handled a busy night very well. It was a bit on the loud side, but considering how busy it was you cannot expect it to be quiet. I had the cajun chicken sandwich and it came quickly but it was a little too spicy for me. I also had a rhubarb strawberry drink and it was delicious! My favorite is still the steak and sushi. Great happy hour specials too.
Good food, good service!
I’ve given this particular location a good review in the past, but today was disappointing. We ordered our meals for curbside pickup. My husband text messaged the number and after 10 minutes, no one had responded. My husband then phoned and they mentioned they’d be right out with the order. They showed up quickly, but when we opened our order at home, it was partially incorrect. We asked for 2 orders of tenders, one with a Caesar salad (which wasn’t very fresh, and the croutons were stale) and one with yam fries. They gave us two salads instead. They really skimp out on dipping sauce as well. Perhaps now that things are opened up the focus on curbside has diminished greatly. We have a toddler and can’t just go out whenever, so curbside has really been helpful when needed. Hopefully next time we have a better experience and we will have to check our own order before leaving the parking lot.
This is my favourite place to catch up and relax with friends. In fact, we call Earl's St. Albert our "muster point". The entire staff is excellent, but we've been very spoiled by Brittany and Jazz. Wonderful place to hang out. Great food and service. Love it!
It was cold on the patio, the heater wasn't working, and our server wouldn't move us into a sunny area . I would have stayed longer and had more drinks and dessert if I was warm.
I hadn't been to Earls in a while and had a great time!! The lunch was for meeting old friends (from out of town) and they were equally impressed. Almost all of us had the soup & salad (Clam Chowder and Caesar Salad) and one guest said that the Chowder was as good as any back home. The friends were visiting from P.E.I. so that is high praise!! The other guest said that the Caesar Salad was the BEST that she'd ever had!! Considering that I've been to Earls countless times it just goes to show that good food and great service keep people coming back!! :)
Fish and chips were like eating oil and the tartar sauce was way too salty. Service was slow and unattentive. Never eating here again!
Ever since my friends and I began going to Earls on a regular basis, Rene was there to serve us. At first it was by coincidence that she began serving us so often but after having gotten to know her, we decided that she was the only one we wanted to get served by. Rene is one of the friendliest people I have ever met and being a waitress is the perfect job for her. Walking into Earls with your closest friends and being greeted with a hug and a smile from Rene makes Earls feel like home. Rene embodies the casual yet hardworking demeanor of an Earls employee. While she enjoys the small talk and the daily conversation she also is seen tidying up and always seems to have your drink refilled. I like to think of Rene as more than an employee but more of a friend and the most relatable person and a reliable friend. Rene is someone I always look forward to seeing while being served at Earls, and someone I hope to stay friends with for a long time.
The worst Earls in Edmonton never again
The bartender jen took care of us and she was amazing. Super friendly and great service!! 10/10 will be back
Great happy hour menu! Service was good too.
I absolutely loved it here . Our waitress was super friendly and helpful, always making sure we were happy with everything. The drinks were good , every much enjoyed the happy hour prices. The veggie burger was delicious as well! We will absolutely be coming back !
Excellent service excellent food. Will be back soon.
This is a spot my family returns to on a weekly basis. The food is consistently as good as the last or next time I go. From the burgers to the poke bowls. My family and I will be back next week.
Great place to share lunch on the weekends with half price food 11-12pm brunch till 2pm Very attentive staff when I was in here Feb 9 2020 around 10:50am. Bartender named Sarah. I have difficulty hearing and wear hearing aids in both ears, she was patient and understanding of my communication issues in a restaurant environment when packed with patrons. She did awesome ????
Came in on Friday night, they are busy. The hostesses were very friendly. Our server Casey was amazing, she answered all our question, very friendly and positive. She checked on us frequently and made sure all our needs and wants were met. Food was served quickly , portions are really huge. Overall a great experience and we will be back. Thank you for making our night away from kids a memorable one.
Here for a special occasion. The staff did not disappoint.
Service was okay, it took a long time to get but the waitress had an attitude towards our table and was clearly unprofessional. After the bills were distributed she was looking over our shoulder expecting/pressuring us to tip and when someone in our table didn't tip she obnoxiously yanked the card machine from them. Definitely not coming to this location ever again.
Yesterday my Grandson and I were at Earls. He ordered the steak and Lobster and I the filet. I thought his Lobster looked quite unusual as it was opaque and not white like a usually cooked lobster but as it was his first Lobster tail we just thought it was a different way of cooking. It was not the Lobster tail was not cooked . Did I mention it NO I did not but should have. I usually eat there but for Lobster I will now go elsewhere.
Food was good, what you would expect from a chain restaurant, but I must say very disappointed that they are charging full bar prices for beers on tap when only serving 18 fluid oz's considering a full pint is 20 oz's. Thus my tip reflected my disappointment. Perhaps Earl's should revisit their 18 oz glass serving and serve a true pint.
Loved it. Family and friends, It's a happy place. Great service and 5stars to the cooks as well
Awful experience. I love Earl's and their drinks/food but i've never had a good experience at this location. Drinks and food orders were wrong all across the board and numerous bills were overcharged at the end. The manager and waitress were not on the same page and the manager was actually quite rude towards my friends and I and did not act in a respectful, professional manner. Definitely WOULD NOT recommend and a complete waste of time.
The worst service I’ve ever had at any restaurant before. This was all a few hours before close and the restaurant was completely silent. Our drinks were waiting at the bar for well over 10 minutes before the server decided to run them over. Then after ordering a second drink. I waited 20 minutes for our server to come by the table again. She had forgotten about my drink. Never apologized for forgetting to ring it in. Just laughed about it. I waited a total for 30 minutes just to get a second drink ! Our server was in the back the entire time. I was never able to wave her over since she was no one to be seen. Not only was the service bad. The kitchen had also made multiple mistakes. After waiting almost 45 minutes for 4 dishes the fettuccine Alfredo came out with only butter on it. No sauce. Our steak were also very over cooked. The server never quality checked for the food. The manager was aware of how long we waited for our food and knew of the mistakes and for it to come out this way should’ve ended in a discount or something taken off the bill. None of that happened. This restaurant does not know how to deal with unhappy customers. An apology from the server would’ve also been nice to get but she never did. I will never be coming back to this restaurant. I hope no one else gets this type of service here.
EDIT: After getting in touch with General Manager Natasha, she made an effort to improve our experience. She invited my wife and I back and we were given amazing service, and the food was noticeably better too! Thank you Earl's for taking feedback seriously and we will be sure to visit again! I don't normally go out of my way to provide feedback, however my visit to your restaurant with my wife on February 9th was so bad, I feel I need to do so. My wife and I arrived at 4:45pm, we wanted a quick dinner before we saw a movie, and regularly enjoy the happy hour menu at the Claireview location. We were seated immediately, however it was nearly 15 minutes until we were acknowledged by a server, who did not ask if we had been helped, or speak to us at all, they poured us water, and walked away. 20 minutes in, our server, Sarah, came and introduced herself, took our drink and food order at the same time. (We knew what we wanted already since we had plenty of time). The drinks took about 10 minutes. There was no acknowledgement that we had to wait, or that they were busy. Looking at the room, there were 3 other staff members waiting on our area, other tables sometimes had 2 people waiting on the same table at once, but we were left alone for the majority of the evening. 45 minutes in, our food arrives. At least the kitchen was fast. The food appeared to be smaller portions than the Claireview location, but we cannot be sure. I had ordered a pop for my drink, which was not refilled until I made it a point to ask for one. My empty glass was placed at the edge of the table for the majority of our visit. We didn't finish our dinner, as we were now running late, we just asked it to be packed up and left. The server didn't even give us all our food. Our sides were thrown out, and we were only given the main part of our order. We barely touched our sides. We regularly visit the other Earls locations, as we enjoy the menu, this was the first time we visited the St. Albert location. We will still visit Earls, but avoid the St Albert location as much as possible now.
Weird that a slice of cake for someones brithday is a "Summer Promo" and not available. Cause obviously no one is ever born in the winter ????♀️
First time at this Earl's location..first time ever we had horrible food AND service! Went for an anniversary dinner on Halloween night and it spoiled the whole evening. Will never return to this location
Good Cajun chicken ceasar salad
Adam served us on the patio. Ask for him, he was the best compliment to the food experience.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Service was quick and the food was great.
Great food, staff very attentive
Quality of dishes are excellent. Service is above average. Portion size compared to cost is average.
Great food and service. We know we can count on Earls St Albert to deliver tasty dishes and friendly, attentive service. Today we walked down for lunch: hot wings, yam fries, blackened Cajun steak with veggies. A couple of Aprikats and a rhubarb fizz. Nothing fancy but very enjoyable. Just what the doctor ordered on a cold Sunday afternoon. It was tough to pass up the brunch menu (hellooo chicken and waffles or French toast!) or some of the other mains. Not to worry, we'll be back.
This experience was the worst of my life all the hostesses were racist ageist and made me uncomfortable then flipped the situation onto us to make us seem like we were the problem and not the victim in this situation saying that customers were uncomfortable even though we kept our voices and tones at a steady rate Untill the hostess approached us with aggression and brought other waiters onto us to force us to leave threatening authority’s the manager has not reached back to me yet would give a zero star if I could approaching to make another reservation for another day to give another chance to this restaurant and she said that we are un welcomed back to in her words “my restaurant” This is unacceptable I will definitely let my friends know not to come here
I never knew Earl's had such a section dedicated to plant based diets! Good news for you Earl's, bad news for me.... I'll be back now for many trips!! Only thing I can complain about is after googling the nutritional value, seems as though salt is how you think you make foods taste good... 2500mg in one serving of the tofu bowl??? Should fix that..
Food was terrific, great staff as we.
I always have a consistently good experience here. The staff are always pleasant and attentive. A good selection of cold draft beers and a more than solid food menu as well. I honestly can't say that I have ever had a bad meal here - this says a lot since I eat here quite frequently. There are some really good deals on the happy hour menu, although I do prefer the old one in place of the current one. The restaurant also appears to be very clean and tidy. I recommend this Earls for sure.
I took my husband out for our anniversary, we had a male server I believe his name was Tom or Thomas. His service was slow and inattentive. Towards the end of the meal he complained about the size of the tip we left (lucky we left anything). We explained that we weren’t satisfied with the service he made a rude comment about how he shouldn’t of expected much from a conservative. (My husband was wearing a hat he got from a Stephen Harper rally) We won’t be back!
I am torn to write a review or not, but decided to.... we attended the restaurant this evening (April 6,2018), and was met with less than satisfactory service. Our waitress was good- however the food was repulsive for the most part. My partner ordered a starter clam chowder, which he thoroughly enjoyed (yay!) but when the mains came it was a different story. His burger was pink in the middle. I ordered the crispy chicken tenders and Alfredo penne; the chicken was certainly not “crispy”, rather soggy and pink inside; the Alfredo penne was bland. I could have dealt with soggy and bland, but pink- nope. We advised our waitress of the undercooked meat (she noted it was disgusting). The young female manager came over and assured us she had shown the sous chef our concerns but “it’s been cooked to spec”. Offered to refire the meal, towhich I replied no, as at this point I was repulsed. I asked for the bill as I was wanting to leave. The manager came back, and again “wanted to ensure us the food wasn’t undercooked, and didn’t want us to leave worried we would get sick”. The manager also wanted me to talk to the sous chef and chef (why would I talk to them when you’ve already said they claimed it’s fine? I am not going to waste more of my time in your establishment) I’m sorry, but the managers insistence was not reassuring. She said since we didn’t eat the meal there would be no charge. I appreciate not being charged for our drinks, or the soup. However, when there is blatant pink in hamburger and pink plus red vein in the chicken...I am fairly certain it isn’t cooked to spec. Regardless, if a customer has legitimate concerns perhaps acknowledg them and try it to make them feel like a moron. Not too happy sitting here at home with a stomach ache and vomiting. Again, I am happy to not have been charged and I acknowledge some people will eat beef that’s pink, however the pink chicken is inexcusable. I just wish I would have taken pictures. Edit: the drinks consisted of an iced tea and a coke. Nothing fancy, no booze. We were just looking for a nice dinner out. Doubtful we will be back as this was the last draw for us.
Food and staff were good but the music was sooo loud you couldn't have a conversation. Just ate and left, went to another place that was quieter to have drinks.
Asked for med rare steak-very little red in steak. Tasted okay. Garlic mashed potatoes were very good. Would not order steak again.
Had a phenomenal time with a small group of friends. We sat at the bar and served by Cole (bartender) and Renee (part time manager). Aubrey (hostess) had amazing recommendations. Our experience was amazing and i feel like we made new friends because of it. Will be coming back on a regular basis.
Appetizers are great, however the entrees can be underwhelming. It's never very busy so the staff is a little too attentive. The atmosphere is just not my style, I went because I had a gift card.
Great food and staff. Got a table we didn't like, they moved us immediately ????
Had lunch here around 1130 Saturday, my wife and I ordered baja fish tacos. By far the worst i've ever had. Bland, no seasoning, my wife didnt like the sauce in the taco so she ate the fish and said it tasted like nothing. Very dissapointing wont go back. Dave
We had the chefs table and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and value of the food. Our sous chef Khalid was knowledgeable and friendly.
Meal type
We had dinner at earls in st Albert Thanks for making my second experience in this restaurant an enjoyable time. Our meals were correctly cooked and very good.
Having the outdoor access was important to us right now. Service by the staff was great, and the food was great too.
Pretty decent! We waited a long time for food, but what I got was very yummy. The staff was all very polite.
The food was ok but the service was absolutely terrible. Literally took forever for someone to take our order. We asked for a to go box never did get one. Waited a long time for the bill. We had a small toddler so I had to leave with him and leave me husband behind to wait for the bill. The bill was way more then it should have been and when my husband asked for a receipt she said she would be right back with it but was taking so long he just left.
The Clam Chowder was wonderful and so was the staff. Downside is the noise. Deafening at times. What's wrong here?
This evening my sister and I decided to go for dinner and thought Earls might be an enjoyable place to eat. Our night proceeded like so... We walked into the restaurant and were seated in a booth, there were 6 tables filled with people around us. We needed some time to look over the menu, ordered a drink and the server left us to decide on our meal. Upon ordering our meals, I asked what the difference was between the avocado and quinoa power bowl and the vegan avocado quinoa power bowl, out of curiosity. The server (whose name was Adam, and I feel it appropriate that I state his name), said rudely "the vegan bowl is just gross". Now if I actually had been vegan id have been pretty offended, seeing as I'm not vegan I was still taken back at the tone and choice of words used by Adam. As we finished ordering our food, we chit chatted and waited for our meals, not once did the server come back to ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything, or to apologize for the long wait. In that time a lady, who I believe was the manager, came up to us and asked if everything was okay, could she tell by my arms being crossed and our looking around the restaurant for a half hour waiting that something might be wrong? By the time we actually got our food, the 6 tables around us had been fully cleared, a large table by the front entrance was seated (a good amount of time after we had been seated) with people who had already ordered and received their food and eaten about half of their meal. We received our meal and expressed to the waiter that it sure took a long time. His response was a sarcastic and rude "it's busy". We had spoken to the manager a second time when we finished our meal (which my power bowl had a hair in that I chose not to mention), still not feeling great about the way we were treated, then being told that our server has been talked to about his attitude before. The evening concluded with the manager comping my fries and sisters drink (which we appreciate, thank you) and two customers who were still very upset and unimpressed when leaving the restaurant. You go to a restaurant expecting to have great service and to be respected by the server the same way that we, the customer, would respect you. Very disappointed. If someone needs to be spoken to multiple times about their "attitude" when working or about their service, maybe they shouldn't be working there. Will most likely not be going back to Earls, at least for a good while for sure.
Yesterday was the fourth or fifth time that I've eaten at the Earl's restaurant in St. Albert. Honestly, I've always approached eating there with the mindset that it's not the best food in town but the menu is average enough to satisfy a group of competing palates. In other words, it's usually a safe, easy alternative to restaurants with more specific cultural or regional menus. Last night's dinner experience, however, scraped at a new low. I ordered the blackened Cajun chicken, which was smothered in oil and pepper before it was dunked in a deep fryer. Accompanying it was "potato salad" - a mash of leftover half-fried spuds, corn, some sort of low-grade all-spice flavouring, and something green (parsely, perhaps?), presumably to enliven the dish with a splash of colour. Next to that was a coleslaw of sorts - shredded cabbage soaked in mayonnaise and seasoned with salt. Had it been entered into a county fair cook-off against a tub of Kentucky Fried Chicken coleslaw, it would have finished an embarrassingly distant second. Was there a saving moment during our experience eating at Earl's yesterday? Yes. The staff were extremely helpful and quick to tend to us. This has been the case each time I've been to this restaurant. They deserve credit and, indeed, respect. If you or someone you're with insists on dining at Earl's, be sure to steer wide of the entrées and order the safest burger possible. Everything else is overpriced and scarcely edible.
Our server was ok but when we first arrived and the host tried to seat us on the patio the other female server yelled "no not my section" at the host. I felt bad for the host and it was pretty unprofessional of the server to have that tone infront of guests. My eggs came out easy instead of medium and when I informed my server he never offered to rectify it. Food was dropped before cutlery and we had to wait a few minutes to get any. When the bill came it took forever for him to come back for payment so I ended up going inside to ask the bartender to find him tp split the bills. He was just standing there talking to a coworker. Tables all around us sat with empty cups the entire time and it was attracting wasps. Lazy and slow service
Excellent service! The waitress was amazing as she timed everything perfect by letting us enjoy a couple drinks before the food came. I hate being rushed in a restaurant where they bring everything out a once, but here they seem to know not to do that. Thank you for the amazing experience. 5 stars for food quality as well!
Seriously awful chefs. Whatever kind of detritus you send out those kitchen doors are always half seasoned and completely garbage. This sheer hate for their job shows how awful this earls environment really is. What a terrible excuse for an establishment.
This is the only place wifey and I go for date nites. Always great service, always great food, atmosphere is just right, music not too loud and the prices are about where one would expect.
i friend Doug was here with eating Say wow good i eat here number 1 verry good
Great spot for wings. At one point in time you could only order hot. But now they have barbecue, teriyaki, or salt and pepper. Served hot and always a big hit. Come in during happy hour 3-6pm and 9pm until close and wings are half price.
Sat at the bar because it was dead, bartender was friendly upon arrival however other servers continually stood behind bar and discussed personal matters with eachother. Causing us to sit with empty drinks and plates for upwards thirty minutes. After which the bartender serving us sat at the bar with friends failing to say anything to us about having a new server or clearing up our bills. Food was fine but unfortunately not worth the experience
A pretty good location for a town like St.Albert, however I wouldn't quite call it perfect. It has the benefits of being an all out Earl's like any other, and you do end up getting the full experience, whatever you consider that to be. The prices are a little high in my opinion, however they have a bunch of deals like Happy Hour that are incredible and really make the visit worth while. For this location in particular, it feels a little small, and I felt cramped up against the table because there were so many scrunched into a small building. The food was seemingly different from the locations I usually go to in Edmonton, however it was still pretty good. That's about it, I'd strongly recommend going if your looking for a cheap but still real dining experience!
Knowledgeable, attentive staff but not annoying or rushed. Great service, tasty fresh food, spacious, accommodating (we had 3 kids under 5 and a stroller). We came in on a busy father's day Sunday and were definitely satisfied. After my share of disappointments with local restaurants I was extremely pleased with our dining experience.
Great service from all the staff. There's lots to choose from in the menu, the food tasted great, and the portions were large. Quite expensive though.
Food was good but there were no clean tables when I went. The tables were vacant but the tables were all full of dirty dishes. Had to wait for the waitress to clean a table for me. One of the ladies was helpful the others were all standing by the kitchen maybe on break ? Food was good service was good after the table was cleaned and I was able to sit down. The time I came before this I sat for about 20 minutes before I even got a menu, they apologized and said they didn't see me come in. There were about 10 people in there at the time so not sure how I was overlooked food was good then as well.....
It's pretty good, this location has a couple things that keep it from a higher rating: the kitchen seems to get backed up pretty easily, so you can have quite a wait for even really basic meals (or even just getting your appetizers). This might not be a negative to everyone, but they have a lot of kids that get brought here, which definitely makes the place feel like a dressed up family dining place rather than the normal Earls experience
We were in need of a place to have a nice meal and no headaches. We chose Earl's and were impressed. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. She was helpful and explained all the specials and her opinion on our choices helped us enjoy a very nice dinner. Always a good time when ones food is what they expected. We will return to Earl's when we are again in town.
Great food. Cajun Blackened Chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, my fav!
Straight up, there was a little yellow booger on the tip of my straw when my drink arrived. Unmistakeable, had a little hair in it. Very offputting when you are trying to eat. Also pretty slow service on a seemingly dead night. Worst Earl's of all the ones I've seen. Go to jasper ave, no boogers there.
Good service food was good Priced kinda high for the type of restaurant
The brunch happy hour from 10-12 on Saturday and Sunday is amazing! Lobster and shrimp benny was absolutely delicious! Social distancing makes for a relaxed dining experience
Kudos for all staff wearing masks! We were the only customers wearing them. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. Not at all hot ????. Like at all, but it was good. I normally would have let the server know, but it's covid. My friend had the bacon cheeseburger. She enjoyed it. Fries were good. I will return to try the Chicken sandwich again, I hope they will bring the heat!
Earls have a nice plant based/vegan menu which I appreciate. I was here for just drinks and snacks this time but I look forward to trying this next time. I ordered yam fries which tasted great.
Always have a great time when we go. Perfect for a quite date night or with a large group. Food is top notch and the service is just as good as the food. Tried the Kale salad and although I don't like Kale this was such a good dish.
Discriminating against the unvaxxed. Wouldn't even let me pay for my take out order. Their loss!
I went there on a fairly busy Saturday with my mother and we were seated quickly everything went well, A waiter greeted us quickly to get us drinks. Later when we ordered they took slightly longer. We waited for almost 40-45m for our food and got no refills in the process. Finally when our food came I was given something I hadn’t ordered.. We waited another 10m. We didn’t feel very welcome at all even when the place cleared out. Good food, usually good service (unfortunately not this Saturday though..).
Service/Food here has been hit and miss. The last two visits have been ok. Service has improved, food quality can be up and down however.
I usually find Earls restaurants to have very similar service & food quality all around but this one should be exempt from that notion. Service was not good. Came into the restaurant and the host was no where to be seen, waited for about 4 minutes. Got seated by a server, as I was seated I also noticed that other patrons to the restaurant were also waiting to be seated as the host was deep in conversation with some diners... As we were seated & dining it was extremely hard to even be attended to, the waitress was just behind the bar talking to another worker, definitely shouldn't have to get up to tell them I was ready to order.
I’m sitting here right now at 4:33, I have the worst waitress I’ve ever had at an earls!! The manager and the bleach blonde have been at the bar entertaining some staff I assume since we got here at 3:30!!! The bartender has been seating customers!!! I will never come back or recommend this place!!! I was never asked how my meal was or asked if I needed a drink??? I have worked in the restaurant business for 25years and thought you would like to know how poor your restaurant is being run!!!
Great food, great service for a good price. We had an excellent server and she even brought out ice cream for a birthday even though Earls doesn't do birthday's anymore.
Food and service were alright but it was too busy and overpriced in my opinion. I like cats and think they are super cute sometimes.
No problems with food but the service at this establishment is terrible. We had a tall girl with long brown hair serve us twice here. The first time, everyone at the table had empty drinks for over 15 mins (including our water glasses) The waitress walked around with 0 sense of urgency and we all felt a sense of entitlement from her when we requested refills. We visited this Earls again and she was our server in the bar... again. Same bad, not caring attitude. She spent the majority of the time in the back room. We ordered a pitcher of beer. The bartender poured the beer and the pitcher was sitting on the bar top. Ms. Bad Attitude came out from the back, grabbed one drink off of the bar, and slowly walked it over to a table. She then walked past the bar where our pitcher had been sitting for 5+ mins and into the back room.... We spent the next 5-10 mins staring at our pitcher on the bar. Getting warmer by the minute. Then our food came out - still no server. So we had to ask the person who brought the food out if she would so kindly grab our pitcher. She did. Only highlight of the night was the clam chowder.
Came into earls a couple days ago and just wanted to say how amazing the food quality and service team is. The manager Rene came over to talk and she was just amazing ! Super impressed and totally recommend this place! :)
Food at the restaurant is usually good used skip the dishes this evening and it was horrible Portion sizes are ridiculous 3.50 cents for less than a quarter cup of rice? Less than half a cup of warm potato salad for 4.00 ? If you want people to use delivery invest in proper containers. I will never use skip the dishes again from this restaurant.
Excellent food. Service was great. Long wait for the bill at the end but up to that point everything was fantastic!
Today I am missing my weekly warm kale salad. It has been a few months since I have had this amazing salad. I would go as far as to say it is the best salad you have ever had. Prior to that, I would get your classic field green salad which has been also recently changed. From a loyal guest, please bring back that warm kale salad and revert back to your classic field green salad.
Great service. Food portions could be a little bigger but delicious non the less
My car broke down after a busy shift near by on 29 June. I stopped at Earls ,where I often join friends on the patio , and mentioned to the hostess my problem. It was AMAZING. She got me seated and the waiter brought be a cool drink while he arraigned for booster cables. The Head Chef Ross actually went above and beyond to make sure I could get on my way. It was almost like one of those TV shows where the pub is your family. EARLS you have my forever vote! And thank you Head Chef Ross! We enjoy your food there so often. I had no idea the quality of people behind the service and food. The secret is out! THANK YOU!
Where do I even start... This is a hit or miss place more miss if anything. We've been here 3 times now and it's been flip flop. First time we went there for bunch. The service was very slow our server was talking to laughing and talking to friends when we're and other customers are waiting to put our order in. We both ordered the Super avocado eggs benedict medium and soft, both orders the eggs were rock hard might as well be hard boiled. We sent it back and assumed the so called chef was just having an off day. Order came back the same, over cooked eggs. I sent mine back again and they FINALLY got the order right. We both left dissatisfied and disappointed. Paid for both orders but whatever. Our server sounded very annoyed when we sent our meals back. Second time, they nailed everything perfectly the server was great and friendly, food was fast even tho it was busy. Everything tasted delicious. 5/5 No complaints. Perfect brunch. Third time...thinking it would be the same as the second. Guess not at all. We go there for bunch again not knowing it would be our last time going to Earls. We order the Super Avocado Eggs Benedict with Ham. Both orders eggs were over cooked and the potatoes were rocked hard. We sent ours back once again hoping they could get it right again. Our server was great (I'm sorry I forgot your name) but she said she'd talk to the cooks and get it fixed. Got our order they still didn't get the eggs right. Over cook all the way through, the potatoes were still hard and they forgot the ham. At this point I was done. Our server was very apologetic but we understand it's not her fault she's doing her best. She comps me my meal and my wife didn't mind paying for hers cause it wasn't as bad as mine.
I frequent a lot of different Earls restaurants across western Canada because I like the food, prices, and consistency. However this is by far the worst Earls and unfortunately it’s the one closest to my house. If there is one thing they are consistent at its terrible service. The only time I have been served promptly is when I’m sitting at the bar. I’ve often had to get my own menus in the lounge and always seem to have to request service. Hosts and waitress will chat with friends rather than watch for guests with empty drinks. Super slow. This place is either poorly managed or understaffed.
Food was awesome, staff were very friendly. What more could you ask for ????
Lunch
Went out with my boyfriend to this location on Saturday night Feb. 20. Our service was subpar to say the least. It took about 25 mins for a virgin caesar which I believe was forgotten about, as I had recieved it at the time my food arrived. We were missing many items and had to keep reminding the waiter what we were missing, even though it had been said multiple times before. We eventually just started asking other servers nearby for our missing items, as our server was nowhere to be found. The server had about 3 or 4 other tables, quite manageable in my eyes but we thought maybe he was having a bad day so we didn't say anything. Still, we were quite unimpressed by the service received.
Serving staff polite and helpful. One steak was under cooked, but the waitress immediately took it back. She also reduced our bill by removing the price of a Cesar salad for making the mistake. Food was good but not great. I've had better at Earl's before. Will try again.
Great food. Good service. Safe practises.
I love Earl's Grocery options right now! Delicious, fresh, and good value for money. Yesterday 1 item was missing from my order and a staff member, Casey, personally delivered it to my home that evening. Great service!
Fast and friendly service. Amazing value for the happy hour brunch served 11-noon Saturday and Sunday (8$ brunch items), food was great. Would have no problem recommending to a friend, and I'm sure I'll be back again in the future. Keep up the excellent work Earl's St.Albert!
Very noisy. A nice food selection for my type of eating.
I just waited 17 minutes after being served coffee to go with dessert to be told they don't even have what i ordered. every dish cane out late. food was really good
"The industry group representing Alberta’s cattle industry says it is disappointed with a decision by Earls restaurant chain to begin sourcing its beef from the U.S. instead of Canada." Alberta Tripple A grade beef is better than all US beef. I'm shopping for a new Friday night resturant to meet with my friends. Moxies, do you use Alberta Beef?
First time there. Good food and friendly service. Highly recommend the cauliflower bites
The half ribs and half cajun chicken always brings me back. Attentive staff, central location. Was in a larger group and meal timing was well executed.
Ordered the salmon at lunch. Small portion. Good but small. Also could not eat the green beans. Way to raw for me. I was offered more which I accepted. Came out exactly the same. Probably why I left hungry as there was a lot of them. Not a visit from a manager or any adjustment to the bill. Earl's is not what it once was...
The food was great but a bit pricy
Manager on New Years Eve is fantastic and went above and beyond for our group after a very small issue... She obviously really cares about her customers and as a result I will be going out of my way to frequent this location more often... Fantastic service!
Was a nice location with friendly staff and decent food, but I expected more from the food based on the prices. Was disappointed when I found a beautiful piece of fish completely overwhelmed with an overpowering dill sauce that completely shadowed the rest of the dish.
Good food, quick service, friendly. Than you!!
Great place for a quiet dinner date. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly wait staff. Happy hour food has a good selection!
Every time I've ordered the cajun salmon meal the portion sizes have been extremely disappointing. Most recently I ordered via skip and paid for extra rice only to find the rice and salmon portions smaller than when I've ordered inside the restaurant. I also asked to not have butter on anything as I am allergic to it, the salmon I received had some butter melted on it. I would strongly recommend eating at any other restaurant in St. Albert. First photo is my most recent disappointment from earls St. Albert compared to the same meal ordered from another earls location, without even paying for extra rice.
Dine in
Service
Great time at brunch with friends. Food was tasty. Server was great.
Always a great dinner, however we are new parents and was surprised when I went looking for a change table in the men’s WR and couldn’t find one. Would really appreciate one be added for future visits. Cheers
Service always excellent, food always good. Dependable. Tonight had my absolute favorite, California pizza. Had another favorite tonight, the pumpkin pie.
Great service. But probably a bit over priced. But the food is good and they do have drink specials most nights. Great staff
We ordered pickup last night and when I arrived there was quite a wait to get our food. They were obviously super busy because I could see others waiting as well. A lovely young lady Niki greeted us, apologized for the wait and updated us on our order. She took such care for not only our order but for the others as well. I don't mind waiting for food when there's such care and attention behind the scenes.Thank you Earls for employing amazing people like Niki!
Up scale dining, relaxing environment. Good food & great service. Stayed for an unusually long visit, chatting with an old friend. The wait staff made us feel comfortable, no pressure to leave. Definitely will return. Thank God.
Outstanding dining experience. From the greeting to receiving our meal it was a perfect evening. Our server Christine was very friendly and efficient. Our meal was timed perfectly. We had happys' and dinner and we never felt rushed. The steak was cooked perfectly and the butter chicken was excellent. Although we dined in the bar area, the atmosphere and service was superb. Brittany (the Manager) and her team ensures that you are well cared for. Thank you!
Delivery
Great food and quick service. One girl was dressed inappropriately even for the standards of this type of restaurant with her dress being more of a oversized shirt and showing more of her rear than in sure was intended. It was a noon lunch in the dining room, not the lounge, so some more conservative families may be offended by that.
The lady said she could not service 12 colored people...well they never actually said that 12 colored people can not be served. However that is how it felt. Because the restaurant was realitivly empty at 10:50pm empty and everyone seated there seemed to be of caucasian descent but the 12 colored people were not being seated. We also even said we would sit in groups of 4 to make it easier for them. However we were told to leave. The manager or representative that we delt with was a caucasian female with brown hair and tattoos. I actually love earls, the food, the happy hour and the company therefore it was even worse when this happens. :(
Supports government segregation and discrimination. This restaurant fully supports a 2 tier society.
The manager (Brittany) at this location went absolutely above and beyond for her customer service. I went to this location recently for a birthday celebration, and there were a couple of hiccups getting us seated in a reasonable time. Brittany was so helpful and went above and beyond what she needed it to to make it up to us. She even went as far as telling us to ask for her personally next time we were to be coming to this Earls location. She really made our visit a joy, and our server (who I can not remember her name) was also great too.
Earl's is an Edmonton favourite, and with good reason. I went with a very good friend and as always, the food and service were excellent. I walked in and sat down wanting clam chowder, but didn't order it for some reason today. I had grilled salmon, which was great. Keep up the great work folks!
I am very unhappy with my visit to the st. albert earls. I have to this location a couple times and it seems to be getting worse and worse. I went in for happy hour with some friends. The waitress was okay at first but by the end of the night was extremely rude and unprofessional. She did not check on us very much throughout the evening. She only refilled the water once and second after we asked and basically finished our meal. I also noticed the table seated next to us had to actually get up and get the server to get service. At the end of the meal, she noticed that we did not tip her well and then she got upset. She confronted our group relatively rudely. She asked how she can improve her service but her tone and attitude was entitled as she deserved a tip. We explained how we felt about the service. She then had the audacity to be like something along the lines that we (i assume the establishment or servers but that was some what unclear to me) pay for you to be seated here. A person at the table asked what she meant by that but she walked away without answering. THe evening manager (Mike) came by our table to discuss the service we said what happened but it seemed disingenuine. He suggested if we come back that he would provide us great service. The waitress didn't seem to care nor came back to the table. I am honestly appalled by the service, and extremely upset. I do go to earls often, especially the tin palace location. I have never received such terrible service from earls.
Very quick service. They said that there was a wait for a table but that we could sit at the bar. The place was busy but we got our food in about 15 minutes. The bartender was prompt with the bill. Food was delicious!
Another disappointment at Earls in St Albert. The server did her best to accommodate us but she had two many tables. Not a happy birthday experience for my sister.
Service excellent , outdoor patio was nice and the food was very tasty !
What I like about Earls is their consistency. It doesn't matter which one I go to, I know what to expect and I receive it. The service was great and if you haven't tried the Cajun chicken sandwich, get on it, it's great.
The only thing good was the drinks. Our server went on break when we got our food and did check on us. The dill salmon was so overcooked it was like eating it from a can, but I was so hungry a ate it and didn't complain because by the time the server came back I was done. We also started with calamari that was the worst I've ever had and I always get calamari wherever I go. It had no flavor and was in a pool of grease that we had to send it back. At least the server was there for that and it was taken off the bill.
The good is good , service is ok, not so pro We waited almost half hour for the food though it wasn’t busy But the food came out good which is the important part
Picked up dinner, it was ready waiting at the bar. Yay! Service was awesome! Thank you to all who put their efforts into our dinner this evening it was great!
Always excellent service. Brittany and the staff are always pleasant and we look forward to seeing them. Keep up the great service and smiles
Sirloin Steak dinner was amazing. Add to that Oban 14, a smooth scotch with a little zing and you have a great meal. My SO had calamari that was made perfect. Staff was polite, cheerful and quick. We will return.
Great food. Favorite is the California Shrimp Pizza (I think it’s called the Californian now). Usually main reason some of my family are interested in dining there. Love their salads, had a tofu dish that was surprisingly delicious, great steak. Might visit more if they brought back the Warm Apple deep dish dessert (again, something like that) with vanilla ice cream. Most yummy apple dish ever! We love almost everything we’ve ordered there.
My husband and I had a brutal experience at another restaurant earlier this evening and left after half an hour without service, we came to earls and had an AMAZING time! Blaine did such a wonderful job taking care of us, our drinks were always full and came quickly, the food was delicious and fast and she checked on us often to ensure everything was going well. We will happily come back again! Thanks for the great experience.
The bar tender messed up my order but manager and the server were really nice and sweet, they took care of my entire order........Keep it Up. Great customer service !! Will be back! for sure.
Amazing ..love the mother earth salad
Customer service was terrible. Many drink/food orders at our table were wrong and very delayed and it wasn't even busy. I've been here multiple times and each time I go back with friends or family I think "Oh maybe it'll be different this time." Nope...waste of time considering poor, uncooperative and quite insulting management.
Service
My friends and I went for drinks after a long day of work. We were greeted by the hostess (Regan) who was super bubbly and kind, and served by Kaitlin, who was a blast and very efficient. Both were very good at starting/keeping conversations and seemed to genuinely care about what we said. Together they gave us some of the best service we've had at a restaurant in a very long time. I will gladly drive in from south edmonton to this location next time I'm feeling earls.
I love this restaurant, It feels like home. Both my husband and I worked for Earls in our younger years for quite a while. Though we do enjoy going here, we don't take our kids with us because it really still is not a very family-friendly restaurant. It's too expensive to bring your kids with you, just go alone or with other adults and splurge on yourself.
Food was sub par for the price, service wasn’t great either. No kids meals which was a bummer also. Will definately go with one of the many locally owned places in St.Albert in the future.
Haven't gone to Earls in forever but came here for a cheap date night as they have great happy hour features from 9-close. Atmosphere was great. Food and drinks were really good (watermelon slush to die for) but the Allstar here is the service. They were extremely attentive and friendly and gave personal recommendations when they could without my asking (which I love when the staff knows the product). I would go back just because I know we will always be taken care if. Well done guys, and thank you for a great night.
Horrible service and poorly prepared food. Patio has dead plants in the planters. Obvious lack of training and incompetent management. Over priced for level of service! Get it together Earls ????
Our food was beyond delicious and our server Meagan was absolutely wonderful. I love this place and so will you. :)
I have been eating at Earls for years and have always enjoyed the experience. Last night I ordered an $18 burger that fell apart with a $2 cheese slice. Prices have really risen, wine was up almost $19 per bottle. I know times are tough for all small businesses but I can no longer afford this restaurant. We had six people in our party and the table that we were seated at was so noisy it was virtually impossible to hear. A disappointing experience with a pricy sticker shock....
Their ribs with potato salad and coleslaw is my absolute favourite. Always a go to
Dine in is great! Don’t order for delivery, food usually arrives cold.
I'm happy to say you can still get a Corona for $6 during Happy hour! Nice spot for an afternoon business meeting.
Great service! Easy COVID procedures. Friendly staff as always!
I have no words to express my disappointment.
Boring and generic menu with poor quality service. Our experience started with waiting 5 minutes to be spoken to at the door, on a Thursday later evening. Then being seated at a dirty table. And another 15 minutes before our server spoke to us. Our server did not appear to have a clue regarding the menu and every question took 5 minutes to get an answer. The service was extremely slow the whole night with the restaurant being half empty and the food was poorly made and not worth the price we paid. We won't be going back and do not recommend going.
Saturday evening and we were sat within 10 minutes for a group of 5. Arrive was efficient and friendly. Slight issue with one of our cocktails that was fixed ASAP
First time to Earls since 2001 and it was a great experience. Showed up 10 before reservation time and where led to our table with our requests met. The restaurant was packed with people waiting. Our server was really friendly and polite, she did her job very efficiently. The food was excellent and the Gingerbread cake desert was amazing!!! Restaurant was very clean and the location was convenient. Would return for a date night when we are in this area again!
The most disgusting experience, had to wait for over 30 minutes for an order that came wrong and I had to wait extra 50 min to get the right order and it didn't even taste properly. The worst experience
Excellent service and food! They got my order wrong (prawns instead of chicken), and the server apologized at least 3x, and 2 managers both stopped to offer their apologies. They didn’t charge me for my meal at all, and also gave us a free dessert. Highly recommend this over the top service!!!
Good food and love the vibe
Very good food and wonderful friendly staff. Steak done to perfection. The only problem with the restaurant is the noise as with most of the modern restaurants with the open high ceiling concept which makes it hard to have a conversation with the people you are with, especially if you are a large group like a family . It is better here then a lot of the places we have been though.
Fair price and good food
Good food and drinks, service was superior by the waitresses and will definitely recommend friends and family to visit this place..cheers..!
Service and ambiance is good. Almost all the Earls I've visited exhibit a consistent high level of quality across the board, but the food at this location was unimpressive to say the least.
I am disappointed in this Earls. I tried to call for a pick up order knowing that it was Valentines Day. I called early to avoid the line. We have three kids so it’s impossible to make it there. Earls is my wife’s favourite. No one picked up the phone for 30 mins. There wasn’t even a voice mail that made you believe it was an Earls your were calling. Then I tried skip the dishes.....well that was a mistake. Don’t do that. $7.50 for what I counted out as 12 cold soggy yam fries with sauce spilled on them. Nope.... I will travel to West Ed if we ever want to try an Earls again which is too bad, since Earls is my wife’s favourite. Happy Valentine’s Day! $70 of overpriced cold soggy food. Who’s to blame? Skip the dishes? Earls? Who knows. Don’t call and don’t use skip the dishes that’s my advice.
I arrived at 9 o’clock, took the server 15 minutes to ask us for our drinks then went on to serve others while our drinks took another 15 minutes to be served, it took her 45 minutes for her to take our food order. 30 minutes later we called her over to ask where our food is then her response was your guys food wasn’t cooked and then she had the audacity to ask us if we would like our food refired or would like to leave. Never been disrespected like this worst service ever.
Love the food and location. Hopefully can able to visit again
The only compelling thing earls used to offer was there extra hot chicken wings. Now they axed that from the menu as well. The quality of earls has declined significantly with the years. What used to be my favorite restaurant I won't even step foot in now.
Can never go wrong with some happy hour fish tacos!!!
For the 2nd time this year The Grandparents bought 6 Chef Kits and delivered to all of our individual homes. We each prepared our kits and enjoyed the meal while celebrating the birthday boy live online. The kits are delicious and easy to prepare. We have tried the Hunan bowl, cajun chicken & bbq ribs all of which were excellent. I would highly reccomend these Chefs kits.
Not as busy as usual, easy to park. Good was good as was service. Ok all the way around. Also, tasteful Plexi barriers at booths.
The servers are very helpful and do their best to help their patrons. My first few instances of eating there were excellent the kitchen staff cooked a perfect rare steak, they have a familiar but daring beer selection. Great time overall
Ordered on skip the dishes and the food was still warm but the salt and pepper wings way too salty and the clam chowder was very watery and not creamy at all. I love earls and go all the time. Was not impressed with this meal it was nothing I expected it to be and will likely not be going back for this type of food.
My family and I attended Earls in St. Albert for my niece’s birthday. I would like to thank the Manager, Sydney and our Server for their terrific service. They went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great meal and an enjoyable time.
I’ve been to this earls location countless times most of the time the food is great but the very off time something will be off. The only thing that I don’t like about earls in general is that every time I go and dine at one of there locations the menu seems to always change. However overall great experiences!! Update... Brought back the curry which is great but took off the crispy calamari and the warm kale salad. ????????
Went to St. Albert Earls and we were denied service because our proof of negative covid test paid for from a pharmacy who sent us our results electronically (like everything in 2022) wasn’t printed off. We took our business to the restaurant next door and will never return to this restaurant.
Stopped by for lunch left very unsatisfied. The only things we ate off our plates was my chicken and my fiancé’s salmon. The rice was so crunchy he couldn’t eat it the potatoes were covered in some kind of sauce that tasted like a mix of Caesar dressing, ranch and mayo with that being said you would have thought our server would have came and asked us how our meal was but we unfortunately did not see her come around won’t be back which is unfortunate they let this place go downhill.
We went here for supper to have a meeting and they were short staffed. Our waiter was being a bartender and serving tables. We knew he was busy so it did not bother us because we were not in a rush. What didn't help was that the food coming out of the kitchen was not good. We had ordered a few dishes for all of us to pick at and out of the 6 about 4 were not good at all. I have never found this location to be consistent.
Insanely expensive now! Food and service is definitely not worth the money. Lots of other options at this price!
I came here with my family a couple of weeks ago. We don't often go to Earls, however overall it was a good experience. Cons: They sat 5 of us at a table for 4. Server brought 4 glasses of water and for place settings. Saif they'd bring me the same but I had to remind the server. Pros: Astounded by the incredible flavor of my dish. I had requested more vegetables and was pleasantly surprised when I saw lots of vegetables in my dish. Kids ordered tsalt and pepper wings and chicken tenders and cleaned their plates! Great place to take your children.
My wife and I went to the Saint Albert Earls location at 3pm Saturday July 25/20. After seating us on the patio the hostess asked if we were ok with sun or shade. We told her my wife liked the sun while the umbrella gave me the shade I liked. She returned and asked if we needed the umbrella as another table wanted it. I told her no, we wanted it. Another female staff member came by and removed the umbrella saying this is the best of both worlds then left with OUR umbrella. All this time we had ZERO service. After waiting almost five minutes we looked at each other and left. Maybe our age had something to do with it, as we are both seniors. Hopefully this is not indicative of all Earls. Went to Brewhouse instead.
The food is good, but I’m not risking my life for it because of the lack of enforced health violations. Do better.
Its fairly depressing going in here. No one smiles, everyone looks miserable, they make you feel out of place if you ask for additional requests. Are you not a server? Isn't your job solely based on serving others ? Then they expect you to tip their preset percentages of 16, 18, 20% and seemed bothered when you don't select the highest one. They should adjust those percentages to 6, 8, 10% based on my experience and the quality of serve.
Great entrees & i love the different types of drinks. 9/10 times, my boyfriends steak will be under or overcooked. However, they always correct it quickly and usual surprise us with an extra for our troubles!
Earl's has upped their game since I was there a year ago. Drinks, food and service were excellent on the patio. My fish tacos were very good.
We went to earls this week for dinner and were seated in the dining room, our server came to take our drink order and we could tell he was a little uneasy, as the night went on the manager Brona came over multiple times to check on our experience and let us know our server was one of their newer staff, as the night went on our server (I think Josh) lit up and really opened up and had really good conversations with us, Somebody in our party had multiple allergies and Brona came over multiple times to make sure everything was going well. It’s nice to see a management team that supports their new staff and I feel that our server will excel as he gets more comfortable. Those two along with the other servers that ran our drinks and food made it seem like the team really works together. Overall we had a great experience and they ain’t kidding when they say the ribs are fall off the bone.
Very poor customer service! The servers were very slow. We asked for wasabi and they brought it after about 20 minutes. We asked for ketchup and they just forgot to bring it... Also, it's full of wasps and could hardly enjoy our meal... The servers kept going into a corner - not sure if the other lady was a manger and were pointing at some people at a table and talking about them. The entire whispering and pointing made me uncomfortable. Again, poor customer service and rude staff... Only reason I'm giving this a 2 star is because their food was actually good ????
The Kentucky Hot Chicken sandwich was good. The fries were great. The burger was extremely dry and overcooked. Great service!
Staff was excellent considering service was limited to patio only at the time, unfortunately our visit was interrupted by a storm. Alberta so not surprised. We will return
Just not impressed. I used to be a big Earl's fan, but now it's just a lot of money for an average experience. Service is good. Menu extensive; maybe too extensive. The place is super noisy, so having a conversation during dinner on a Friday night at 7pm, is all but impossible with a table of 6. My coconut shrimp was tasteless, and the accompanying marinated steak was tough and lacked flavour. The artichoke appetizer was good but the crostinis were super toasted and therefore too dry and stiff to truly enjoy the wonderful dip. I'll be back, but there are lots of places that can give Earl's a run for your dining dollar. Thanks.
We had a good server but the place was quite loud on a Friday evening. The food was only okay - I got a Cajun Chicken Cheese Sandwich, I do recommend the Strawberry Rhubarb Fizz for an alcoholic drink- it was very tasty!
It's seems the mighty Earl's has fallen. Service was mediocre, food was average. Tables were sticky with built up residue. It used to be a good consistent restaurant. I'll be taking off our list of go to places.
I went to eat here for the first time and I was very disappointed... -For the price of the the meals, I didn’t get what I wanted. The chicken was very salty, the meat I got wasn’t medium rare even tho I clearly said medium rare. -The server was very disrespectful... after I paid, she just tossed my card on the table with rude intent. She was staring at me and the machine when it got to the tip options. -Our food took a long time to get to our table as well. Overall, very disappointed for a high price food... never coming back.
This has become one of our new favorite places. The food was terrific. My wife and I shared an appetizer and the steak and lobster. I was quite pleased to see a decent size lobster tail and the steak was cooked wonderfully; needed a pinch of salt but everything was very flavorful. Service was great, food was prompt, and wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Looking forward to our next visit.
Went in on St Patty's day since the irish pub was stupid busy. They screwed up my order twice but promo'd it and did as much as they could to make it right. No complaints.
Sure I ordered dessert but if was not in my order for pick up. I guess I should have checked before I left.
I visited Earl's in St.Albert June 5, 2019 with my family. My experience there was one of the best I have had in a long time at a restaurant. We ordered the Cajun chicken, Cajun Salmon, Chicken Veggie Bowl and Chicken fingers. All the meals were finger licking good, The mashed potatoes that I ordered with the Cajun Chicken just melted in my mouth and the chicken was so tender and juicy. Amazing food!!!! The service by our server Natasha was on point - Friendly, professional, polite and timely. Thank you Casey (Manager that night) for making sure the staff working gave nothing but excellent service. Your visible presence around the front end of the restaurant ensured that all the customers were well taken care of. I will definitely be back next time i'm in town.
Would not open patio on a beautiful sunny evening. Arrived at 7:30. Had a free appetizer coupon. Was charged for the appetizer anyway and just got a dumb look when we pointed it out. I wasn't going to argue and embarrass my guests, but that's pretty lame. Ordered fish and chips with salad instead of chips. Salad was soggy romaine. They charged me $2 extra for it. The fish was rock hard. I ate the inside. I won't be back to another Earl's.
Good food, so so service. We found someone else's dinner on the floor under the table. Took 20 - 30 minutes to get our bill so we could leave. Our steaks were fantastic though.
The menu was a bit average, just like every OJ, Local, Montanas, etc The 9 oz wine should have been poured as a 6 oz with the extra in a tiny carafe. So, many of the touches you would expect were abscent.
Very very poor customer service. Although the food was alright, My friends and I could not enjoy our meals.. unfortunately. There is no sense that the customer is right at all at this particular earls. The staff are very ignorant, racist, rude and unprofessional. My friends and I felt extremely racially profiled as our server was serving other tables who looked more like herself with smiles and enjoyment while she never asked us how our dining was going once. She also demanded more tip from us as she did not like our generosity of tipping 10%, even after the horrible experience we had. The lack professionalism we experienced was unbelievable. Don't recommend this place at all especially to anyone who is ethnical.
Very excited about the new Plant Based Menu added to their Canon. Still an overpriced restaurant chain that has white spot quality food but overall good atmosphere and decent service for Sunday evening.
My new favorite place everything we ordered was amazing! The prices were good at happy hour. Will definately be going back again and again????????????
Not a fan of the dining room and bar together just because the restaurant was so loud! The service was good but the food was sub par, normally Earl's is satisfying but this time it underwhelmed
I had previously given a 4 star rating without providing a written review 2 months ago, but the level of service provided by Sarah H. and the manager on February 23rd was truly outstanding. There was a small problem with my breakfast meal. Sarah showed empathy and concern handling it quickly and efficiently. The manager (not sure of her name) followed up with me in an extremely professional manner. There will always be problems that come up with orders from time to time. The way in which the staff handle these types of problems determines the consumers likelihood of returning to that business. This could not have been handled better by Sarah and her manager. I don't even live in St. Albert, but I think this is my new "go-to" Earls based on the service alone. It's worth the drive.
Good food, price was ok, service did a good job.
Ross was an excellent, attentive server Gave great suggestions for a reluctant beer drinkerGingerbread dessert was excellent, as recommended! Really good teamwork!!!!
Very good service ( Lauren ) and staff. Very good food. Great atmosphere on patio. Many thanks. A little bit pricey ... that's why 4 stars versus 5 that I want to give.
Service was just ok, and food wasn't the greatest but ok. I've had way better experience there in the past, today was just a bit disappointing.
VERY impressed. Ordered chicken tacos and found them to be very spicy. Contacted Earls just to let them know (so they could update their description to note this). Instead of just taking our feedback, they insisted that we choose any menu item and they would personally deliver it. We were blown away by the exceptional customer service. Will definitely be back. :)
We had a great Thursday night! Delicious food. Great service. And we won the 'burn the bill' table pick! They covered all our food costs and we just had to pay for drinks! Was a great treat :)
Great lunch on Friday on the Patio! Fantastic Service and felt safe with the distancing of tables - eating out has been a challenge and this made for a great experience outdoors! Thank you to the Manager for treating us!! And amazing server!
Earls has been a long time favourite restaurant choice of mine but lately the Saint Albert location has shown poor customer service and a lack of interest from their staff which might relate to higher turnover and weaker training. The food has started to become inconsistent such as my last experience. I spoke to the supervisor about my concerns that night but all I got was excuses from the lady and an attitude that she did not seem to care. I had three cocktails that night and each time I needed a refill, my glass sat empty for at least five minutes before somebody took notice. My food had to be redone because it was done incorrectly also. I plan to return in a few months in the hopes that my experience will improve and my review will also.
Staff are very friendly and informative of specials. Not a long wait for food and drinks. Love this place and have made it a regular spot to go to.
Very good filet mignon. Cooked to perfectin! Staff was amazing! Very nice and helpful.
The food was great the last time I went but we tend to have 1 bad experience for every good one. Really inconsistent. Only come here now if someone else invites me. Waiting staff are great, very friendly. Hostess are great too.
Although my taste for spice is often hard to please.. there is no denying that your serve assist Tony K is spicier than your nashville hot chicken sandy. Someone get this girl a tall glass of Perrier and a towel. ????
Came here for my moms birthday and they gave her a birthday card and paid for her glass of wine! So thoughtful and the customer service has been amazing along with the food. 100% will be back ????
We went for dinner here and were treated to a delicious meal. Clam chowder (there was a tiny bit of sand, but that's clams for you), garlic fries, street chicken tacos, and a Thai curry bowl. Our server was extremely friendly, the food was nice and hot, and the portion sizes were great. We were too full for dessert! It was a little loud, even with Covid-reduced capacity, because it has a pretty open layout . We would love to be back, hopefully in 2021.
Really like our St Albert Earls. Always great food and service! Thank you to all the staff!
I usually love my meals at earls but not this one. Regular dishes that I have had before were sub par. My chicken dinner which was off their Cajun menu had a thick layer of skin and fat on it. The dessert was delicious as were the drinks. Our server Justine was wonderful and very knowledgeable.
Went to this location & ordered the 6oz sirloin w asparagus + yam fries. I had eaten the asparagus first and once I got to the steak, I realized it was over cooked (I had asked for medium rare & it was well done.) The waitress took about 20 minutes to come back to our table so by the time I was able tell her my steak was over cooked , my friends had eaten the majority of their food & I had eaten almost everything except for the steak. I didn’t see the point in sending it back since we were basically almost done our meal and the steak was edible. The waitress mentioned a discount instead of getting a new steak so I agreed. The manager then came to apologize (I was 80% done the steak at this point) and offered me a 10% discount. When I got the bill , I realized that was only $2.80 off the total bill. When the waitress came to collect payment , I told her that if I would’ve known that the discount was going to be so little I would’ve just ordered another. She replied that she “told me they would make me another one but I chose the discount.” To make up for it , she took my Diet Coke ($3.00) off the bill =total of $5.80 off for an over cooked piece of meat. Not very impressed with this. Obviously a little bit of $ off of the bill is better than 0 , but still paying $20 for a steak that wasn’t cooked properly isn’t very fair. Needless to say I probably won’t be returning to Earls.
