We came here for my husband's birthday party, they accommodated us perfectly! They saved us a table for about 15 people, the server had our pre-ordered appetizers already, and she was extremely helpful the entire time! Usually with a large party the quality of service tends to decrease a little but that was definitely not the case! Our only complaint? They do not serve imported bottled beer :(

Was not able to finish last review.... To clarify, my Husband, who loves Guinness, says we have to give only 3 stars. This is because the Guinness on tap was flat and watered down tasting not only to us but to several other patrons as per the waitress. Hence the keg needed to be assessed or changed but this was not done. Otherwise the food was pricy but quite good, waitress attentive, tv's with facts great for conversation, self seating a terrific method, and atmosphere nice. Please please get better Guinness. It means a lot to him and I. I will try to get my husband to go one more time to give it another chance but cannot recommend this restaurant until doing so. Thanks, Tatiana

It is a respectable place with a delightful selection of beer. The food is decent, although not anything to write home about. The prices (for food at least) are a bit on the high side, although not outrageous. I've had some good service here, but on more than one occasion I've had some less than satisfactory treatment as well. There have been some servers and bartenders that I have seen neglecting their customers to go and chat with their friends that have come into the bar to visit them. While I understand the serving staffs desire to acknowledge their friends, it really sends a message that their customers are not a priority. When dealing with the staff, I have never encountered any that are "rude" per se, but they definitely aren't as personable as the staff at some of the other places I frequent. I think this is a solid place with potential, although some of the servers and bartenders could use a brush up on their customer service skills. I like to come here once in a while, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a St. Albert bar.

A large group of us were in the St. Albert area last night and someone suggested that we give the Central Social Hall a try. This was most ridiculous suggestion anyone could make and the individual that suggested this to the group feels terrible that they even brought this up. We waited for over 10 minutes and no one approached us to provide us service. There were waitresses and bartenders that made direct eye contact with our party of twelve, but no one would make the effort to greet or serve us. We were in disbelief and wondered why their staffs are conducting themselves in this kind of manner as we were all properly dressed, but then someone from our party showed us some reviews on Google. We were surprised to see several complaints about racial profiling and this totally make sense as our group consist of only Asians. As we slowly made our way out the door, I looked back and this goofing looking bartender with glasses would just watch us leave with no reaction whatsoever. Anyways, we took our business to Boston’s Pizza across the parking lot. Their staffs are very professional and friendly as they were quick to greet us and immediately made some adjustments to accommodate our party. We had great service, food and racked a bill over $1,000.00 by the end of night. For those that belong to other ethnic groups, I recommend that you go to Boston’s Pizza if you are looking for a great experience with no racial profiling. If you are looking for horrible experience and would like to relive some of worst history our elders went through, I recommend that you try Central Social Hall as they won’t let you down. For the owner(s) of this establishment, please be advised that it’s 2016 and racial profiling is a thing in the past. Once you are tired of running this Mickey Mouse Club House of yours and ready to compete with the big boys. I recommend that you get rid of all your existing staff members and hire new ones with the proper training. Matter of fact, walk down to Boston’s Pizza and poach some of their staffs if that makes it easier for you. Just keep in mind that the key to running a successful business is based on clientele and cash flow, not the ethnic group people belong to. Best of luck!

The Central Social Hall is a fun atmosphere to have they have paint nights they have Bingo nights you just got to keep up on their webpage but the bathrooms are clean individual stalls for people and the food is really good FYI if you get in the pretzel the hot mustard is hot

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant for brunch on a Saturday during “peak hours.” It was a great visit. Both of our food came out awesome, we each had a couple of the non alcoholic drinks which were outstanding. I’m embarrassed to say that I don’t remember our servers name, but she was great as well, very genuine and attentive.

I ordered a Keto (lettuce wrapped) burger, and received a burger patty, 3 sauces and a pile of lettuce in separate containers. The pickles and cheese were absent. The patty was dried out and sad,and there wasn't enough lettuce to wrap the burger. For $19 go somewhere else. Best of all the refund will take several days to process, and the hostess kept the 20% tip I left.

All in, a pretty standard bar. The use of the word "hall" in the brand describes it pretty well. It's long and narrowish, and the loud chatter you would expect echoes through the place like a reverb tank. But that doesn't hamper a face-to-face sit down with friends. The food is average pub fare and there are quite a few beer on tap. I've never personally ordered a cocktail but plenty of people do. Not my first choice but not my last choice, either.

My wife and i have been going to central for years now and we had to write this review after our last visit. Our server Jackie made our date night so wonderful! For starters she was the first server to tell us her name when greeting, and was attentive and professional at her job! Her happiness just gave off good vibes. I was at a friend's house in St. Albert and we ordered our lunch using Skip the Dishes from Central Social Hall. MAJOR false advertising! Notice how their picture in the Skip the Dishes Menu on the right has a cranberry compote with a nice sauce on top? Well mine arrived as a soggy dry waffle with dry chicken, with NOTHING on top. Those strawberries and syrup were from my friend's fridge as an attempt to salvage what was an otherwise boring dish that was WAY overpriced and a rip off, quite frankly! I felt short changed from misrepresented photos. And frankly for $17 bucks I could've done a way better job with my waffles and breaded chicken. Unacceptable.

Haven't been to the Central Social Hall in a while until last night when we decided to meet up with some friends to have some food and drink and catch up, the food was good and beer also very good but it leaned on to the pricier side. The music was so loud that we were unable to have any real conversation and one of our friends choose to leave because of a headache caused by the very LOUD music . It was unfortunate it will not be a place to "Come on in and find a seat and have a conversation " as it states at their front door for us. Maybe try a Friday night dinner time to have the music at a level where conversation would be possible.

I do enjoy the Wine Wednesday and I enjoy all the food I have ordered. But I will not be returning solely because of the service. The service is absolutely terrible. Every time we go in we end up waiting so long to get drinks or any service(and it is never that busy). The waitress will straight up roll her eyes at you if your asking for anything. They are always on their phones, or just talking with each other. I usually go with my girlfriend and we always notice that a table of men will be severed nicely and quickly vs just women.

Service was adequate but not spectacular. Hostess was freindly enough but given how quiet it was she could have been around more. The menu is quite different for this kind of place but the food was excellent. Almost all the dishes are gluten friendly. My wife had the chicken and lentil/ veg plate. The veg were perfectly cooked and she thought the pesto sauce was outstanding. I had the fried ribs and kettle chipsand they were very good as well. They seriously need the services of an acoustics eñgineer. The place is horribly loud for no good reason. The multiple speakers are competing with each other rather than working in harmony. With proper setup the sound could be three times clearer at one quarter the volume. Prices however are not what you would call budget friendly. With a beer and a gingerale bill was almost $70 without tip. I would have rated it a four star except for the overly high pricing.

Went a couple days ago for a friend’s bday party. Originally wanted to try the new Canadian brewhouse but after calling 20 times in two days and being a party of like 15-20 people we just didn’t have time. So we booked at Central Social which absolutely loved. The manager that day I believe Mike was his name (but not totally sure) was more than accommodating with the tables since we had extra people coming to meet us. They did a great job handling a bunch of us and the service was great, smooth and easy. Thank you again, would recommend this place over and over !

Food was above average. Would have been great but the service was not great at all. Not the restaurant or food but the service that sucked. It wasn't really busy, a Wednesday about 3:30. It was just bad from beginning to end. We were taken to our table and given a coaster and told that the menu was online... well one of us had one of those qr scan things but the rest of us did not and could not see the menu. You should probably be given a choice. I get it is safer but some of us older people just don't have all the technology that the young crowd has. Finally the waitress came to take our order and we asked how we could find the menu online and she said she could get us a paper menu. Needless to say, 3 other waitresses helped us out multiple times more than her, she didn't deserve a tip at all and I used to be in that industry. The only reason she got any tip from us was because the cook and dishwashers deserve something. If I could have I would have tipped the other waitresses that actually helped us out and made sure she didn't get anything. An hour and 15 minutes waiting is too long. Could have been better.

The service is awfully efficient. Also, the food they cook is magnificent. I have been there often and I was always delighted. The pay is honest. I ordered a take out meal a few months back. Due to an issue with the printer in the kitchen, our order did not get through. When I arrived to pick it up, it had not been made. Not only did they rush the order, having it ready within 15 minutes, they also took care of the bill and provided a $25 gift certificate for a future visit. Talk about making it right. Vance and his team are the best. I have always received amazing service at Central Social Hall and this time was no different. We had our daughter's 8th birthday party there and did a music video theme. Matt (Manager) was kind and accommodating helping us capture footage for the music video. He helped move tables and allowed us to capture some great memories. The food was delicious and came out on time. The server was attentive and very nice. I had lunch here and food was incredible! The best nachos I have ever had and I have travelled to Europe and the Caribbean. It was even better than the authentic Mexican restaurant I had a few days ago at a restaurant in the Edmonton area. Bar tender Walker was amazingly helpful, friendly, recommended the best food and made any drink I liked without alcohol. Highly recommend.

Poor customer service was the order of the day on our May 29th visit. Ordinarily Central offers consistently high quality wings that are typically a St Albert favourite. On this visit the wings we ordered were borderline cold and generally seemed like they could have spent a bit more time in the deep fryer. We each ate 1 wing and when our server came back to check in and I let her know that the wings were cold. “Deer in the headlights...”, no apology and a dead voice asking “what do you want me to do..?” The poor response we received from our server demonstrates a lack of customer service training and likely poor management on site. We will be back but try harder Central...

Great experience for a first time visit. Our server was friendly and courteous. The food was tasty and served hot. It wasn’t to busy but we came at about 2 pm so it was a slow time. The ambiance was nice. Monday’s special is burgers for $10 this is an excellent deal and we took a advantage of it. I had the Backyard Burger and my wife had the Ronald Burger and we both enjoyed our selections. Prices are reasonable. So I’m sure we will come again after a good first visit.

Today was our first time getting food from Central and it was amazing. We got the Bobby B’s Double Cheese burgers with fries and were very impressed. The burgers were well cooked, not greasy; the bacon was thick and nicely cooked with very little fat and the fries had a nice seasoning. We were one of the first orders of the day and I was able to pick up the food in 10-15 minutes. The staff member I dealt with was friendly and cheerful and even though there were only two tables with people in them at that time, there were other staff in sight, so even as it got busier, there would have been people to serve them. We're looking forward to ordering again in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed coming here on date nights until tonight, we probably won’t return after today. Our waitress was less than attentive. She walked away before we could finish our drink order after asking for waters, then when someone dropped our orders off we tried to order drinks from this other woman and she wasn’t very friendly and wouldn’t take it. Our waitress came back to take drink order about 15 minutes later. Then when ordering food she walked away again before finishing all our orders, she just skipped over someone completely. Food came out in a good time but it was so mediocre. Extremely disappointed with going here tonight.

Very nice atmosphere, and the layout is good with the bar in the centre and tables on all sides. We went for brunch on a Sunday and I will certainly come back. Our server was training, so I will cut her some slack and her manager coached or fixed anything that was not perfect. The food was excellent, we all had something different from the brunch menu and they all came out right, hot, and together. Over all an excellent experience.

Wow ...we had a table of 6 and did the Chef's Table, which is several courses. Outstanding!! We could not decide on our favorite dishes. Brussel sprout and Perogies were so tasty. Beef and potatoes, brocolini, pasta outstanding. The Nutella cheesecake was really good. I loved the doughnuts!!! Michael and Katie were outstanding serving us.

Not gonna lie I’m really disappointed. Our server was patient and nice food was okay. It was this other supervisor lady that came to serve us our food that has such an attitude it ruined the whole thing for us. They got one of our food orders wrong which we weren’t upset about mistakes happen but the server could have handled it so much better. You could hear her being nice to other customers but I don’t know her attitude ruined the hard work that the other server did he was a very sweet guy I wanted to leave a bigger tip but we were already over the experience.

My husband and I went to Central today for brunch. At first we were incredibly disappointed. The food was not what we expected. We regularly attend Central and the food is always amazing, but today it was definitely off. We were hesitant, but we decided to complain. The professionalism from the staff and management was absolutely amazing, and the service for the rest of our visit was incredible. The manager on duty (Jordan) was phenomenal. Our server was also wonderful, and they definitely made up for the less than par food with their excellent service.

I was very impressed by the all the staff, so friendly makes you feel welcome from the minute you walk in the door. Walked right in and sat down on a busy friday night. Within 2 mins had our drinks, within 5 min had our food ordered. Within probably 10 mins we were eating. Excellent awesome service and food. We have been twice and both times.have received excellent service. Really good craft beer selection (including non alcoholic beer) and the menu is clearly made with "foodies" in mind. Food was delicious (as always!) But what really stood out was the service. Our server, Jackie, was quite honestly the sweetest, most genuine and attentive server we've had (maybe ever?!) Our drinks were never empty, she checked in multiple times throughout the evening and you could always tell she had a smile on her face (even with a mask on)! Found myself out in St Albert today to meet some friends who suggested Central. I enjoy the downtown Edmonton, so I was interested to see this location. First thing, we sat on the patio and it was perfect! Sorry to the downtown location, but that one unfortunately faces the wrong way. The one in St Albert is very nice! Even the way they did the greenery, makes portions of the parking lot disappear. Finally was able to try the brunch menu and I have to say, again, bravo! Exceeded my expectations. Traditionally, I love a good hollandaise & eggs benny; however, they have a home made cheese & pepper sauce that they for theirs ... it was delicious. My friend also had a poutine with the same sauce, topped with poached eggs! Who thinks of these dishes LOL - perfect hangover food! I try to include an area for improvement when writing reviews; but, as far as pubs go, this company seems to have it figured out! Bring one to my neighbourhood!

MUCH better this time around. The last two times I went were terrible experiences....and I had left a review previously, but took the original one down after this visit. My friend really wanted to go here so we went last Tuesday and it was a much better experience this time around. Good service and food. But there wasn't many people in there , so that could contribute to it. I'm only giving 3 stars because I'm still taking the last two terrible times into consideration with my rating. I'll probably be back at some point and hopefully my future visit will be as enjoyable as this one was.

Ordered from skip the dishes last night and was greatly disappointed. The dressing on the Caesar salad I order tasted old oily and rancid as well as the honey fried chicken sandwich I ordered looked nothing like the picture, the bun wasn’t the same, the chicken breast wasn’t even flattened it was huge and ended up being very dry, tasted burnt as if the oil they used was dirty or to high of a heat. Sadly disappointing. After going back a second time a week and a half ago it was MUCH MUCH better, the pulled pork sandwich was amazing as well my girlfriend had the chicken linguine(which was great), except it could of used a tad bit more sauce( not to much ). We also shared the cheese cake which was crazy good! Much better guys, thanks!

Went to BSB after party and there was one security guard who was in charge of not letting anyone into the VIP area from the regular admissions section, He witnessed a girl from VIP section shoving and pushing with her buttocks towards another girl who was right beside her but on the other side of the security guards arm on the regular admissions side. Girls around were talking about how she is doing it to alot of girls that stand by her. The security guard was told about it and also he saw it with his own eyes and chose to do NOTHING about it. But what he did say was " youre too close to the VIP" are you kidding me??? The place was packed no one was trying to sneak in to that side and we were on the other side of his arm but the saddest pathetic girl at the bar kept bullying everyone. But because she was in VIP it was fine. When finally someone said something to her, and it got very verbal he kicked 2 girls out when he knew very well that that girl was pushing one of them the entire time. He was standing right there. Not impressed and it reflects poorly on you to have him work in your establishment. Definitely did not feel safe being there after that happened.

There was two of us, we went for dinner on a Friday at about 7. Our server forgot one of our entrees so we had to wait about 30 minutes until the second came out. The meal that we did have, we were unable to eat because we didn't have cutlery. We sat for over 30 minutes until the server returned with our second entree (we were then able to ask for cutlery) and to take our order for a second round of drinks, at this point we had been there for over an hour - served one round of drinks and 1 entree. The "manager" walked past us numerous times and didn't seem to notice an uneaten plate and empty drinks. Before manager #1 left for the night, he said that our food would be comped plus a drink each. Manager #2 approached us later on in the evening and seemed to be quite confrontational (body language, tone), informed us that only one meal would be comped and whatever the other manager promised us wasn't his issue. We honestly didn't feel safe around manager #2 - it seemed like he wanted to fight and that the buttons on his shirt were about to burst. We apologize for our meals not being served at the same time, won't make that same mistake ever again - we'll just eat one plate and then wait for the next. It was also our fault that we couldn't find cutlery. - we should have looked harder. It was also our fault that the manager made promises that he couldn't keep - mighty neighbourly bunch of people. We were there all night and had a large tab by the end of it and the fact that he couldn't comp the meals was pathetic. The food tasted alright though, shout out to the kitchen.

Been here several times - food is consistently delicious. Ballpark pretzel is the best you can find in the city. Service can be a little slower when they're really busy (obviously), but nothing that isn't remedied by the friendly staff and good food. The atmosphere is also really great.

Can’t wait too go again. I meet a coworker for a couple drinks and a chat, and we ended up staying for almost 3 hours. The server was very friendly and polite. The place was very aesthetically pleasing with very clean and big bathrooms. The food was good and presented nicely. The parking lot had lots of free space to park close and the are is very safe. Went there for my best friends birthday on July 12th and was greeted by Ashley. She was absolutely friendly, beautiful and welcoming. She convinced both my Buddy and I to order a couple of her favourite dishes with sides that were absolutely delicious. She was so friendly my son whose 5 even mentioned it and still remembers her name. All the staff we met were wonderful. We will be returning for sure..

We had a silent auction pub night here for my daughter's gymnastics club. While there wasn't a huge amount of room for the auction itself the staff at the CSH were very accommodating and awesome about it. Good place to go for Oilers games. Cheap beer.

Central is a great place with great food, I recommend it to everyone. The atmosphere is great and the staff is fabulous. The food took to long to get to us last time as we only ordered a pretzel and fries. But other than that it Tasted great. Music was a little too loud. I would definitely go back for drinks and appetizers.

Food was great but my plate given to me for the wings had old food smeared on it and my celery for the wings had dirt on it because of not being washed off. Every time we go to Central Social Hall in St. Albert, we have great service, food and overall experience. We love that they now have brunch on the weekend that is family friendly and can bring our daughter. She is 10 months old and the staff are always so great to her and notice the little things. We are happy that they have come to St. Albert and have given this city exactly what we needed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great night out, great food or a weekend brunch.

Not the hugest menu but it was tasty. I had the signature chicken and waffles and it was very good. My wife had the curry and it was ok but nothing special. They seem to take reservations so that's nice to know for next time. It was difficult finding a seat on a Saturday without a reservation.

Okay this is a first for me. I have to eat my words. A while back I gave this restaurant a terrible review, albeit it was deserved but the owner asked to give him a second chance and revisit them. On February the 16th I did just that. We were treated very professionally by Stacy. My wife and I asked what kind of beers they had on tap and Stacy started asking us what we liked and then recommended a couple of beers that both my wife and I absolutely loved . Not once did she intrude on our conversations but was always near enough to spot it we needed anything ( and they were busy) On the food side you have to try the Tokyo Chicken. It may not be Japanese but boy does it taste YUMMMMMMMY!!!!!!!! Stacey thank you for your effort in showing my wife and I what great service is and thanks to the kitchen staff who made a huge improvement from the last visit. and because of you I will definitely be coming back!

The bar is upscale with scantily clad gals in lbd's, if you like that sort of thing. Kevin, the bartender, is all smiles and i know him from his previous employ. I was here for the Oilers Live Event so i don't know what it's like on less busy nights. Everyone seemed to leave soon after the game ended - probably to party elsewhere because there's no dance floor. Music is danceable though. Too bad. The signature drinks just sound "wrong". Didn't have food but... The Oilers beat the Ducks. So, yay! Go Oilers!

What a great place to eat! We were here for supper Sunday, Jan17/16. Our waiter Paul was very welcoming, professional, answered our questions and brought our sangria which was on tap! They also had many choices of both beer and wine on tap. Our food was delicious...presentation perfect! I have nothing negative to say about my experience today. I'll be back and will bring my husband who will enjoy choosing his beer!

Sorry for the delayed review, I thought I did this already... maybe I did. Anyways, last summer my husband and I were tired of being engaged. We decided to elope and Central Social Hall was gracious enough to host us and our family during a pandemic. They followed all protocols socially distanced in the trophy room. each family at their own table. The service was absolutely fantastic. and the food was amazing. They made the whole process from A-Z stress free and made my small family feel at ease and safe yet still uplifted and fun! I am sorry if me and my grandma drank you out of sambuca! We will be returning for our anniversary this summer. Cant wait to see you all again <3

I like eating and drinking here. Usually have good service but sometimes they seem a little understaffed. They have fantastic wings. They allow kids which has caused me to change my review score. Was very annoying to have young kids running around screaming and smashing utensils together for hours while trying to enjoy my beer.

Amazing hospitality at Central Social Hall St. Albert! A group of us reserved the private room in the restaurant this past weekend and we're so glad we did! It was spacious and closed off, but not secluded. Our waitress, Mikhayla, was absolutely wonderful. Very personable, efficient, and took such great care of us all night! She told us she's only been with the CSH team for 3 weeks and we couldn't believe it! She performed like senior staff with tons of experience. On top of the wonderful service, the food and drinks were exceptional! We ordered a wide variety of drinks and appetizers and everyone was more than satisfied. We will certainly have this restaurant on the top of our list for group gatherings in the future!

My daughter and I had dinner at Central prior to the Paint Nite event. Our server was terrific. She was very helpful regarding my daughter's wheat allergy in addition to being very efficient and pleasant. The menu is clear on gluten free items and there are many options. We really enjoyed the bar snacks -- great addition to the menu. We'll definitely return.
