We asked to sit at a table of 6 and were told no because a table of 5 might come in (that was okay, we were okay with waiting!). It took 50 minutes to get our drinks. The server brought over popcorn at the 45 min mark as an apology....the popcorn is free anyways. We asked for some water while waiting and we’re given warm water. Finally after getting our drinks, 2 of our 4 food orders came out. We ate it all before our other two arrived. She also provided only 2 napkins (no plates or anything) for 4 people. The food was mediocre, and we sent our spinach dip back. Our server explained with the recent Covid shutdown the kitchen staffed froze much of the food, including heavy cream, and they realized some things didn’t freeze well. We asked a server for another drink and she told us our waitress would be back instead of taking our order. In the end, poor service (she was very nice though!), meh food, and blah atmosphere. I really wanted to like it.

Thisis a great place to go for a night out with pals. $5 each to play games all night plus they are licensed and also serve great snacks. The staff are super friendly and know a lot about the games so are willing to explain how to play.

This is definitely my favourite place in town ! I have been there 3 times in the past week. I have tried one of their crazy shakes and it was delicious. Everything I tried on their menu was really different and amazing ! They have a really nice selection of board games and if you do not want to play games you can paint the pottery that they have available! It's definitely a good way to spend a nice evening with some friends! The owners and staff are very nice and helpful. Definitely going back!

Expensive food for what you're getting. Ambiance is fun, cheerful, and relaxed. Large selection of games! The option to paint your own pottery is a great activity! And prices for pottery is reasonable! Overall a fun activity for people of all ages.

We have always wanted to try this place since it opened but never made it in until about a month ago. We wish we had come sooner! This place is awesome! Fun atmosphere, great staff, awesome food and games!! Great spot for a fun night out. Definitely recommend!

We saw on another review that the person had drinks and didn’t even feel a buzz, I can personally tell you that I had a good buzz after 2 drinks (if that’s what your come to a nice lounge for????‍♀️) Food was amazing. It's something that's really easy, fun, and convenient to try when you're in the Downtown Charlottetown area. Visited for trivia night and during lunchtime on the weekend. They have a great selection of games and the food is really tasty as well. Service is always top notch!

Great food, had a couple different sandwiches so far, very filling while you can keep playing without making a mess. Drinks wise, the coffee is always great and the mousetrap mule I had last time really hit the spot. Definitely something to have again. More boardgames available then I knew even existed lol Staff has always been kind and attentive. Overall a nice change from the plain old dinner date, it's really a relaxed and fun time out.

A great selection of board and card games to try, and a knowledgeable staff to help make suggestions or help with rules. There are a good amount of snacks and finger food, but nothing too substantial. You wouldn't come here for the food alone, the 'cafe' aspect of the name takes second chair to the 'board game' part.

I have had the pleasure of visiting a large number of Board Game Cafe's across Canada. Hive and Hollow has a presence and feel unlike any of them. The staff outstanding, and food and drinks are amazing! Great Hours, and licensed the perfect place for a date night, or a hangout with friends!! Great place!

This is one of the best new spots on PEI! With over 300 board games, you can have hours of fun with family or with friends any night of the week. They're even open until 2am on Friday and Saturday night, so if you don't feel like going out to the bars, you've got a place you can hang out at and have a good time. Definitely recommend going!

Great place! Staff are friendly, great selection of games that don't take too long to play. It's more of a pub or bar than it is a café although they have coffee. I would hope they plan to extend their hours into the afternoon and maybe open on Sundays as well, it could be a great place for families during the day. The menu is small but decent enough for what they're going for. The drink specials are very creative as well. I really hope this place succeeds so I can come back next time I visit PEI!

i visited this place on friday evening 30july for dine in with my friends ,i waited for 25 minutes for someone to come and take our order and no body came at all , even a single girl didn't come to ask me for water or drink or anything. the customer service is down to zero . i dont recommend people to visit this place as their service is too bad . i was too hungry ???? and they spoiled our weekend evening had to go taste of india for food finally.

Don't buy cocktails here, they are super weak. They must be watering down their liquor or not pouring a full 2oz for their doubles. It's very disappointing to have multiple drinks, rack up a huge bill, and not even feel a buzz. Otherwise, there is a wide variety of boardgames and the food is good. Great atmosphere, too.

I came here for the company year end gathering and was satisfied. They have a prime location and are nicely decorated, creating a cosy atmosphere. The employees are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the game. Tons of options to choose. Food and beverages are adequate, reasonable pricing. Might need more supplies. Lots of boardgames to choose from, friendly and informative staff and a nice menu. There are lots of shakes with dairy free and vegan options. Tons of pottery to choose from at a decent price, with a clear set up for having it fired and picked up. The food is mostly handheld and straight forward- perfect for having a small bite while getting into a boardgame.

An amazing selection of board games, a relaxed atmosphere, combined with Pump House craft beer on tap it's a fun evening with friends. Though I do have some hang-ups. The prices are on the higher side for the food quality and options. While the staff are upbeat and knowledgeable about all the games, they often feel short-staffed. You can see them constantly moving from table to table working hard and doing their best, but it always feels like they are at least one staff member short when it's moderately busy.

If you haven't been here and you like board games this place is a must!! Such a small price to play and you can play any of their massive collection. Even their food is good. Absolutely loved this place!! It's perfect if you want to get out of the house but don't want to do the downtown scene. Just a chill little place where you can order food, desserts and drinks - with a GREAT Gluten Friendly menu! Pick out from hundreds of game choices and hang out and play as long as you like. Friendly staff and a good location. Can't wait to visit again. Accessibility could be an issue if you have mobility issues as you do climb quite a few stairs.

Such a cool spot! Very good service always coming by to make sure you have what you need and to give suggestions. Girlfriend and I went here twice during our 9 day stay, and probably would have went more had they been open Sundays or Mondays (but understandable why they aren't, as most of the town is closed those days).
