As of day the firm receives a rating of 4.5 out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings is almost the best, and it is founded on a large number of reviews, so we may think that the valuation is quite credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Night Club is included in the category of Irish pub.
The Dock is an institution in New Glasgow. It is in one of the most beautiful historic buildings in town. Gorgeous exposed stone masonry and old structural beams. Owners are lovely people as well. Highly recommended.
Nice food, interesting ambiance
Went for lunch on a really hot day, nice and cool and good food!
Nice pub and nice team
Cool, ancient building, very good food, helpful staff
Went into eat on Friday night, it wasn't overly busy so we got waited on right away. We then waited for 40 mins for our food, when it finally came we asked the server for condiments for our fish.. meanwhile we start to eat out food only to realize it was ice cold. It had to have sat out for a good while before coming to our table. The waitress never did come back with our condiments so we got up and paid for our drinks and left. Won't be coming back again.
Good pub food
Meal type
Such a fantastic place to eat, drink and feel like part of the family !
Good
Service was exceptional, food was amazing had blackened chicken penne and the doxk burger! Was on point! Nom nom nom nom nom
Great food, great service.
Really excellent seafood chowder. Nice ambiance. Great character.
After five days in four towns of us asking locals for a good pub we asked our taxi driver his advice because the only recommendations we had were the legion and a dive bar, to our delight we found this majestic little place, warm friendly lots of taps for a small place, fantastic staff, and a richly complex menu for a pub...
Great food and service. We'll be back.
A nice Irish pub with an atmosphere and great service. Wide variety of drinks and food is quite nice. I just wish they'd have an other stout than Murphy's.
Quaint ambience, lively on weekend evenings, decent selection of local create beer, fish and chips were real good, pasta was just ok.
Food was good but not overly special, but great staff. Very friendly and they made a killer old fashioned.
Love the old Irish pub decor. The food is great too!
Our new favourite restaurant in New Glasgow???? Delicious seafood chowder with their special bread & mussels, great ambiance, decor, authentic Irish
Expensive for what little amount of food you get and lackluster service.
Service
Loved this place for many years! Great an cosy atmosphere! Awesome Seafood Chowder with house made Irish Soda Bread.
Very slow food service.
Very underwhelmed with the place. The atmosphere is nice but the drinks are overpriced and the food is ok. Portions are pretty small and nothing special in taste. I found a piece of melted plastic in my lasagna and didn’t get an apology or anything from the waitress. Service was very slow and we left without having dessert because they were so slow. Will not be coming back.
Reliably good food. Seafood chowder is excellent. I also am a big fan of their bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Great pub atmosphere.
Always excellent
Great on tap selection, the atmosphere is wonderful, the soda bread is delicious, and so is the chowder! The service is always friendly and attentive. Love this pub! Reminds me of home!
Great food and great service.
What a spot! The atmosphere was great. The service excellent. The only thing that topped those two things was the food.
Great food and a friendly environment
Love the atmosphere and service here. You get a real old Irish feeling even in the restrooms. Would eat here everyday if I lived in the New Glasgow area
Staff is amazingly friendly.. Food was insanely delicious... Atmosphere is very comfortable..... Love the Dock and the heritage that comes along with it. Next time in Nova Scotia I will absolutely make a special stop at the dock. You should too, you won't regret it.
Excellent service, delicious food, and a warm, classic Irish pub atmosphere. Looking forward to the next time I visit New Glasgow. The seafood chowder and soda bread were A+, and their corn Mac n cheese puts mine to shame. (and I make some mean Mac n cheese)
Cozy place, great atmosphere but has a menu as old as the building itself. No menu posted online. The building itself and the kitchen/serving staff are the true backbone of the resturant.
Great food here, very helpful staff. I only wish the menu had a bit more detail.
Best pub in town
Great fish and chips. Very friend staff a must go to place while in new Glasgow.
Great little irish pub, loved the terrace on the roof in the back
Love this place.
5-Star. This place is great. Seafood is the best, and if your lucky and go in the summer and can get a rooftop seat take it. You will not regret it. Loved this place when we visited, and I cannot wait to go back again.
Great ambiance in a cozy historic style pub. Crab cakes and Irish soda bread were a hit.
Best atmosphere and food combo in Pictou County. Generally good service and friendly staff and great owners.
Great food little difficult parking...
Amazing food, service and atmosphere!
Beautiful building and the coziest bar in town. Delicious beer variety and food! Definitely somewhere I'd want to hang out more often ! And the staff are the sweetest !
AMAZING CHOWDER. Club sandwich was great too. Worth the drive just for the chowder. Service is also very friendly. Recommended with 5 stars
Good food interesting location
(Translated) Very cozy, great beer selection. Not cheap but the food was a culinary delight for Canada. Great service and a great atmosphere. (Original) Urgemütlich, super Bierauswahl. Nicht billig aber das essen war für Canada ein Gaumenschmaus. Tolle Bedienung und klasse Atmosphäre.
Great food great beer love this place
Delicious
Nice little Irish-style pub. Decent draught selection and great service.
Great food, Great drinks, Great Price's This is a great place to pop in after a long day of work. Grab a cold draft and a few appetizers. Finish off with some Bangers and Mash or perhaps a Red Fox. Then call it a night. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing food and service!
Excellent! Food is always good and the family who runs it take pride in their work and really make you feel at home and that you're part of the family. A real staple in the town! It is ways a treat coming here to eat!
Amazing steak ????
Favorite spot in NS
Nice spot. One of a kind atmosphere in Pictou County.
Awesome on tap beers! The servers are super friendly. I had the sun dried tomato and scallop pasta, it was DIVINE!! Also a very cute atmosphere!
Delish to say the least and the most wonderful service, plus a great bag for the short person
In one of the nicest old buildings in New Glasgow the dock is a charming small Irish Pub with good food and of course beer. My wife found the fish tacos too spicy, but that is personal taste. The tomato bisque was delicious. They served home baked Irish soda break which was perhaps the best bread my wife and I ever had. Delicious. The service was fantastic. So down home friendly, fast, perfect. Only problem is there is no place to park. There are a bunch of reserved parking lots all around the Dock but none of them you are allowed to park on. We found a spot in the main street with a meter.
TERRIBLE
(Translated) Friendly atmosphere, conducive to relaxation. Good meal. To recommend. (Original) Atmosphère conviviale, propice à la détente. Bon repas. A recommander.
It took over an hour to be served our nachos and a half hour for the drink. No apologies offered...
(Translated) very good to make kaka (Original) sehr gut zum kaka machen
Rude greeting and poor service from the lady behind the bar. Food was average and 2 items we asked for were not available.
Awesome food and service
Very charming!
Best pub with great food in New Glasgow
We were looking for a bite to eat and a pint on a Saturday afternoon in New Glasgow and we found The Dock. I liked the atmosphere, it was cozy and warm feeling, but kind of crowded and the live music was great if a bit too loud... Service was slow and the food was expensive with small portions and overcooked fries. I wouldn't order the fish tacos again, the burgers were quite small and the overall portion sizes were inadequate. The beer was good and cold tho.
What a great authentic Irish bar in New Glasgow. Place is well decorated, friendly staff and good food. Great crab cakes and Pints aplenty. Don't ask the owner to sell you the wall decor it's not for sale.lol...
Amazing place to sit eat and listen to music..beautiful historical location
This place is superb! Charming with a great selection of local craft beer on tap- two thumbs, or should I say, pints up!!
Seems to be the local hangout. Had the fish and chips which were plentiful and tasty! Finished off the meal with some super rich chocolate cake.
Good service. Very high quality food! The portion sizes could have been bigger as French fries and pasta aren't expensive. Overall a quality place for drinks and food!
Really, really great food. Had the choice of 2nd floor patio or 1st floor indoor dinning. Great old fashioned pub. Staff were very friendly!
Great location, excellent pub food and a wide variety of drinks
Their management is extremely rude, would not recommend to anyone.
Best ceaser salad dressing I have ever had also love the fish.
Great food and great atmosphere, food is delicious too. Pictured is the Braised Lamb Shank I ordered.
Food is excellent!! We had fish tacos and a steak sandwich- both were done perfectly!! Highly recommend!
Best waitress ever.Even though it was raining on the patio .both girls were awesome ...friendly food was so good my husband ordered two entrees..Great service
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The spinach dip is amazing too.
Nice historic atmosphere. Friendly service and good food.
Excellent feed of mussels
Have never been disappointed with the food or service anytime I visit. Enjoyed the upper deck this ime around.
Great food and ambiance.
The food is great, very authentic and the beer selection is decent. An amazing atmosphere, thanks to the building which use to be an old post office, and always friendly staff! Prices are a little high though for an Irish pub and that's it's only downfall.
This is a very special place located in downtown New Glasgow Nova Scotia. The food is second to none and the owners of this fine establishment are the absolute salt of the earth. The all stone building is an old publishing house built in the early 1800’s...so beautiful and amazing. Try everything! For desert have the bread pudding...you won’t be disappointed I promise.
great service, extremely friendly staff, good food
Food was great and the service was quick and efficient
Excellent food, service and great patio. Highly reccomend.
Yummy! I feel so nice when I walk in the door. I love looking out the big window. Yippie can’t wait to go back!
Superior pub! :-) We muchly enjoyed two bowls of mussels (excellent sauces) and an also very good soup-of-the-day. The desserts were also scrumptious and sophisto.
Excellent, as always!
Gr8 servive and wonferful food. Unique setting- irish pub
Excellent food! Not happy about being sat in the corner, but able to treat my 74-year old friend's birthday....
Truly amazing. Felt like I was walking into my family's pub. Awesome service and truly amazing people
Quaint little place. Great food. Nice atmosphere. We had salmon on special, chicken penne and crab dip. Very enjoyable! Traveling through, not familiar with area, had a hard time finding parking. No parking on premises. Otherwise highly recommend!
The best seafood chowder I've had since Vancouver Island. Irish / East-coast flair, in a very old building, with Irish decor. Parking is a nightmare, so drive along the river for free parking by the gazebos. A little expensive, but delicious food! Several different beers on tap.
Great choice in beer!
Great food, service and beer. Very cozy little pub.
It's really the only Irish pub in town. The food is good, and the decor is wonderfully stone Irish pub looking. They have a couple craft beers on tap from local breweries, as well as the obligatory Irish and other mass produced beers. Also sell wine for those that want it.
Dine in
Excellent food and service. We will be back.
This is the best restaurant in town. Food is amazing and the service is even better. Will return time and time again!
Love the staff, food, and cosy feeling.
Best Irish pub in New Glasgow
I love this place! No flat beer here, from my experience. Great fish cakes, but you must come on Friday, for those that don't know.
Romantic ambience and a glass of beer equals a very good time.
The salad was delicious, the beer too !!
If you're looking for some Irish pub atmosphere this is the place. Friendly with good pub food. Only negative is small and not enough real Irish beer on tap.
Best mussels I've ever had. Seafood chowder was very tasty but was very lacking in seafood other than white fish. This visit was a 4 stars, but it's usually a 5, so they are likely feeling the effects of staff shortages as most other restaurants are right now.
Friendly service and good food with an amazing view.
Try the chowder!
Great food, cold beer and great service. Chish and Fips were definitely worth it.
Best fish tacos I've ever had! And the service was amazing.
Good beer and food.
Best muscles I've ever had! Must try them white wine and garlic.
Excellent seafood chowder. be aware that the music is very loud.
The Dock is a true gem! The environment is cozy, warm and inviting. The staff is friendly, prompt and will remember your drink order. The food is delicious - if you like garlic, the Caesar salad is a must! Would certainly recommend.
After being unable to go to restaurant for a very long time because we lived in Montreal and well..... pandemic! the very first place we came to after moving to New Glasgow was The Dock. We were welcomed as though we were invited personally for dinnee and the food was exceptional. If you like blue cheese definitely try their burger that has it! Can't wait to go back very soon!
Nice little spot. Small and cozy with a nice assortment of local beers. Friendly, capable staff and quick service. The menu is limited but everything we ordered was delicious and well worth the price. Im definitely going back.
Awesome food, friendly staff. One of downtown New Glasgow's staples for a reason.
nice environment and seafood Crowder is great
A great St. Paddys day celebration. Tks for the good food, fun time & fantastic music.
Excellent meal! Went to the Dock after a long day of work and the atmosphere, food and service was top notch. We went as a group and all of us enjoyed our dinner and dessert. Relaxing atmosphere in a historic building with great selection of beverages and food was like icing on the cake! I highly recommend the warmed cheese and bread appetizer.
I love going here. Brunch (limited but very good), lunch, dinner. Doesn't matter, anytime is a good time to go to the Dock. Do it. And take a cab home.
Great pub and good food
(Translated) Nice little Irish pub. Warm waitresses. Dish with the catch of the day. A bit pricey for just a dish of mussels ... $ 12 unaccompanied. But the wine and garlic sauce was excellent! (Original) Joli petit pub irlandais. Serveuses chaleureuses. Plat avec la pêche du jour. Un peu cher pour juste un plat de moules...12$ sans accompagnement. Mais la sauce au vin et ail était excellente !
Very nice traditional Irish Pub in New Glasgow
I had the best seafood chowder I have ever had here. I will be back.
Cozy little pub with lots of character, locals and great service. Excellent place to spend the afternoon.
Fabulous staff, nice selection of craft beers. Always lovely to sit by the open wood burning fire. The patio is tucked away upstairs, great place to have an affair.
Good selection of draft beers and excellent local seafood. Be sure to try the house made seafood chowder. Service is a bit on the slow side or I would rate 5 out of 5. That said, the food was worth the wait.
The Dock, on George Street in New Glasgow, is an authentic Irish Pub with good prices, good service and amazing food. We really enjoyed our meals here and had a great time. Highly recommended; I would definitely visit more if I lived closer.
The waitress was amazing! Super friendly and accommodating. The food was just as amazing and you cannot beat the atmosphere. Wish we lived closer. We would definitely be regular customers.
Absolutely fabulous, the owner was friendly, helpful. The chowder, soda bread and mussels were top notch ! Draught was great too!!
Great mussels and atmosphere.
Decent food, nice Irish wall decorations, and a cute server!
Nice little pub in New Glasgow. Great food. I had the blackened haddock with garlic mashed potatoes. Friendly service, a little slow on the day I visited (first time there). Would have been very rushed if I only had 1 hour for lunch. There is no parking lot.
Very good food, friendly service, in a building with a fascinating history. Spouse had the best fish tacos she's ever had.
Had the seafood chowder and garlic wine mussels. Food was great, will be back.
Amazing food. The service was excellent.
We came here as a group of 5 on the week of the 15th. We were on our way to cape Breton. We are from Vancouver. This is a lovely old Irish pub. Very authentic looking and feeling. I ordered the fish tacos. My partner ordered the blackened haddock. I have to say that this was one of the best, most memorable meals I’ve ever had. And I’ve had them all over the world. On our way way back from Cape Breton we stopped here again. Lightning strikes twice! You have to go here. We got to meet Carmel the owner along with the rest of her staff. All top notch! Being in the restaurant business you really appreciate the effort that goes into this place. The food, service and ambiance were over the top. What a treasure to find! See toy again next year!!!
Laid back atmosphere. A decent array of local and classic Irish dishes. Local beer on tap. What more could you ask for!
(Translated) Good beer, good food and impeccable service in a historic house. (Original) Bonne bière, bonne bouffe et service impeccable dans une maison historique.
Very good Irish pup in New Glasgow with excellent food
(Translated) no parking (Original) No parking
Always an amazing experience here! The food is reasonable, portions are large, beer options are plentiful, and staff is kind! It has a really nice ambience with the fireplace inside as well.
Great pub food
12th people are friendly and the food is good as well the music is relaxing
Like the Ambiance, foods was great!
The food is delicious. Service is great. Totally worth to make a detour from Trans Canada highway.
Food was great steak was well prepared and came in a timely fashion good selection of beer to chose from nice atmosphere
Wow, food was excellent, service was super and all in a building built in 1840.
We were a group of 8. Sat down and no one acknowledged us. We asked for menus and service to which we received major attitude. We got up and left. Not good. Went to the Thistle instead. Great service and friendly staff.
Good spot
Greatest place in town
Arrived. Did not get greeted.Sat down for 15-20 minutes. Got a menu. Didn't get asked what we wanted to drink or to start with while we waited. Their was a gentleman in an orange shirt that didn't seem to be helping. The female server was busy but not busy to the point where we couldn't be asked if we wanted a drink or anything to get us started. We just walked out. Not sitting around for 20 minutes if it's not busy and I can't even get a coffee or water while we stare at the wall. Will not be bothered to return.
The best ambiance of any pub you'll find in the Maritimes. Very cosy and snug. A truly historic building. Great eats. Great place for a date and a beer.
Excellent chowder, amazing cider and friendly staff.
This place is the spot to eat in the east coast. Must have the clam chowder
If you're looking for an old pub with a wide beer selection and great food then this is your spot. The walls are old stone decorated with different beer memorabilia and the place even has the original wood floors
Dinner
The scallop linguine was incredible. Nice plump scallops, pasta cooked to perfection and a very flavourful sauce. Will definitely visit again.
Great place to spend a few hours, friendly atmosphere and genuine staff.
Fish tacos are excellent and the power bowl is delicious!
Burger was excellent! Glad to see somewheres in NS that carries black horse beer.
Excellent food, great decor and fast friendly service!
What a pleasant experience. Owners are such wonderful people. Great food, great service. A must visit
Was told 10-15min Wait for a table for 2. Which is ok, they're busy...waited 30mins outside in the cold, and a group of 7 who had been waiting maximum 5 mins were invited in and given a table. A group if 3 were seated shortly after as we were leaving because they clearly didn't want us there I guess. Oh well. Bye
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff, would recommend it to anyone ????
Good food great beer nice ambiance
Great food,excellent staff.Wonderfull atmosphere.
Favourite pub hands down! Try their seafood chowder, and Irish soda bread - you'll be hooked! There's a photo of my late Grandfather on the wall of photos as you come in, he was one of the regulars; really means a lot to me to see him up there. I pick him out every time :)
Amazing service... great food. Reccomend the seafood chowder very highly and the curry pasta with shrimp and scallop...
Really neat pub. Tasty meal and friendly service. Typical noisy patrons having lunch before getting back to work.
Try the bread pudding with Whiskey sauce! Yummy!
Brought family in for lunch today. First time there and it was delicious! The fish and chips were amazing. They even have a kids menu. The atmosphere is awesome. Very authentic Irish pub feel. We will definitely return.
We thoroughly enjoyed several meals there over a recent weekend visit. The chowder was outstanding. I also enjoyed the crab cakes. Some good craft beers on tap as well.
Service was fast, food was hot and a pIace I will go again.
Horrible staff horrible service asked to try a lite beer with minimal flavor and was given a disgusting swill for me and a friend and took 1 sip and they wouldn't exchange it and argued with me about it for 5 minutes Do not eat here.
Wonderful food and service Stella tasted pretty good too ????
Very good restaurant with good ambiance. My girlfriend loved. I definitely would recommend. Service was a bit long though
Heat food
Excellent services, day or night. Very traditional ambience. Plus, I loved the tomato soup.
Great food, especially the mussels. Good selection of local draught beer, and a building with a real old pub type atmosphere.
Great traditional pub with friendly staff, good beer, and tasty food. In a lovely old building built in the mid 1800s. A couple pints of stout with a good friend on a rainy night is a simple pleasure that should not be forgotten.
Typical cosy old fashioned pub. Good food and beer
Excellent, nothing else to add.
The place is amazing nice Decour. The burger was good and the tomato soup was excellent.
Goid food and nice staff.
Great service
If you want to taste the best ceasar salad dressing, look no farther then The Dock in New Glasgow. They have a daily soup special which is homemade and delicious no matter which day it is that you have it! Lots of beer on tap, many delicious items on the menu. The ambiance is friendly and inviting.
One of the most beautiful and authentic Irish pubs I've ever seen outside of Ireland. Great food and drinks with a very friendly staff and authentic Irish music playing.
(Translated) I loved the food, a nice pub atmosphere, thumbs Up! And the beer ???? a redhead from the Big Spruce brewery. I did not know, but now I like! P.S. You have to go further back to discover the terrace and their private room ????
My favourite watering hole back home!
Wonderful atmosphere, very cosy. Good food. Good drinks.
Absolutely brilliant and authentic Irish gastro pub. Excellent food and service cant recommend highly enough!
There's nothing wrong with The Dock, and the atmosphere is genuinely great, but I don't find the food to be anything special. Don't get me wrong, it's tasty and I will be back many times, but don't go expecting to have your mind blown.
It's a nice place with a very friendly employees and really good food ???? ????
I had the seafood chowder it was delicious.
Real food and a jolly pub atmosphere
Dock Gang was there with live music (10 stars). Really good food but a little pricey and waitress was overworked (needed another to help her)
