Came in July 2018 and enjoyed your Tuesday Rib special for $10.99. That was a big meal. I couldn't finish all the ribs. I wanted to take the rest of my ribs home. Your policy was no doggie bags. I would understand that rule if it was 'All you can eat ribs'. It wasn't that.So I should be allowed to tame my ribs home. I paid for them.

Great service excellent food and drinks! Actually put alcohol in alcoholic drinks! Not a ripoff like other places. Food came surprisingly quick but was not prepared like fast food, it was like qourmet! Good prices for great food! Staff actually warns their tips. Remember what you ask for and gets it promptly and there were no empty tables in the place. You can tell they genuinely like working there!

Cori was our server tonight and her professionalism was absolutely fantastic. We where positively surprised by the Pub. Expected just a regular burger and beer joint...oh were we wrong. From the min we walked in a door we hit the positive vibe and great treatment. Food was delicious. Again, Cori was super hospitable. Definitely recommend. We had their yammy fries, wings, French dip and burger. Had to have a to go box - large portions. Thank you ????

This place is a must try! I ordered the veggie burger with a garden salad, absolutely phenomenal! The veggie patty had great texture and flavour, and the greens in the salad were crisp and fresh. The house vinaigrette was mouthwatering, and the burger had a really tasty chipotle sauce. Our server was friendly and informative, and the food was served in no time at all. If you are in Penticton and hungry, you want to try the Barley Mill!

I asked for water and a coke, never got the water. My party member ordered a cocktail and came with no straw so I got one myself. I asked for a chicken sandwich with no tomato, it came with tomato. We had to ask for knives and forks after our meal was served. Food was fine considering no other restaurants were open. Not impressed with the service at all, our server was not attentive and it seemed to baffle her everytime we asked for something, where as we observed other servers who were on the ball and knew what they were doing. $70 write-off.

Mmm we had a hard time looking for a place to eat without a line up, so as soon as we got here we were immediately seated! I ordered Halbut fish and chips YUM,but was perfect. My son ordered steak and frites and he ate the whole thing. And the husband ordered beef dip and immediately he was giving a thumbs up. Definitely going back.

After finding most places closed on a Tues night (and huge line up at one of the few that were not), headed south in Penticton to an old fav; and was not disappointed! greeted by friendly staff who apologized for only having an appy menu; but then was pleasantly surprised. Kitchen agreed to accommodate the few late and night stragglers that were wandering in, and offered full menu! went with the classic Fish and Chips; delicious batter, cooked to perfection, loved the side caesar and offerings of 2 different vinegars. Efficient friendly staff who all seem like they enjoy their jobs. a pleasant treat in this day and age

Hands down, the friendliest service. We waited a little bit to place our order because of a shift transition, I believe, but once that was sorted, we were served promptly by the whole group of staff, with superb courtesy and coordination. My food was so satisfying and the price was reasonable. Pleasant surprise!

Classic local brew pub. It's a bit dated, but that adds to the charm. The food here is good, and good sized portions. Good sized patio in the summer, only drawback is that it is beside the road.

Wanting to support a local business during Covid, I ordered take out from the Barley Mill. I went in to pick up my order and was extremely disappointed to see upon entering that the bartender was not wearing a mask. Nor was the gentleman who started getting my food together. The server was wearing a face shield but not a properly mandated mask. In fact the only staff member who was wearing a proper mask was the cook, thankfully. Unfortunately, I’m sorry to say that I will not be able to support the Barley Mill any further during these times.

One of my favourite places to eat in town! The staff are excellent, as is the food. My go-tos are the spinach dip, Barley burger, and french dip. Always get the brew fries! Their drinks are equally excellent. I always order a long island or a caesar. Give them a visit -- their huge patio is open and heated!

They are doing everything right! They are making their guests/dinners feel welcomed. It was not too dark and dingy (almost that kinda dirty feeling like I have experienced with nearby restaurants). Their menu options were reasonable, I could see that they were being aware of the savings on their food costs by reusing several of the same ingredients. The food came out quickly and both our meals were really good. I will definitely go back. I am very much a foodie and I have nothing bad to say. Shocking, I know! The staff, especially our server, Taylour, is a great addition to this business. She was quite knowledgeable about the menu. She made recommendations, she checked in on us, she upsold by also recommending starters and dessert. She is a wonderful example of how to make diners feel great about the experience as well as their view of the value of met expectations. Money well spent. No regrets. Can't wait to go there again. I had the Steak & Sleeve special for $16.99 (after 3pm) Paired with the Winter Ale & I added garlic toast for only 99 cents. The meal was s0o0o0o0o delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly to the MR asked foe & spiced perfectly. Mashed potatoes have great flavor as well as topped with gravy aside delicious veg... crafted here this time I tried the Berry Sour & it is exactly what its name says & I also tried the Winter Ale (paired with my meal) & this brew is like a chocolatey coffee treat... I dont drink coffee tho its just the right equality to the flavour palet provided. I say a hell yeah to Barley Mill once again!

We were a party of four from Edmonton on a Game 5/Friday night. Even though it was a karaoke night Barley Mill folks (thank you, Terry) took great care of us and put us upstairs, with game volume on. Thank you, that meant a lot. (one star less than perfect for the sweet tasting tartar sauce for fish and chips earlier in the week. Weird)

Do not eat here if you are vegan!!! They do not understand the concept, and it's 2015. I understood from the start that we weren't at a vegan place, but at least the service staff could have tried to accommodate. We were treated with rude service and "we're not a vegan restaurant" (that's a quote). I said "I totally understand but usually I can modify a salad and get something to eat". Our food came out full of cheese and the server said "you said no cheese on top". I said "Nope, I said no cheese, no dairy at all, I'm vegan." She didn't understand that we didn't want the food in front of us and proceeded to roll her eyes and take our food away after we asked her too. This was 2 different servers unwilling to help me with my dietary needs. My family really enjoyed their non-vegan food, but they did not enjoy the service I received.

It was so cold I asked for my bill and didnt order food, you shouldnt need a jacket inside a restaurant or pub especially in the okanagan when you dont bring a jacket because its the okanagan spring. Good food, great staff. But don't go on a Thursday night expecting to see the "jam" that is advertised to start at 8 pm!! I went there tonight hoping to meet some local musicians but apparently the "band" doesn't start until maybe 9 or 10, whenever they feel like it! This band should not feel so comfortable as they suck to begin with (Boom Chicken??- give me a break!).

Called to order take out as I am immune compromised. And I was told I can not call In to order food I had to come in and order a drink then order food and wait for it. I have been supporting this establishment since the 80's my mom was one of the first Staff when they opened. This is very disappointing and I will not support a business like this

5 min wait for acknowledgment at the door with no one else in front of us or behind us ( manager ) did show up after a line had started to form Greeter (manager) did not offer a mask even though sign clearly states that it is an option they will offer When the manager did show to seat had the bartender clear the table but tried to get us to sit before it could be wiped and sanitized. Put us at a table directly beside the ticket scanner and the door Disposable menu 7 min to get our drink and food order taken 14 min after ordering got told they dont have the rib special that i ordered would have been nice to have been informed a bit quicker 30 min to get food Had to go request a drink after 10 min of waiting for server to come back Food was great The server herself was friendly and good if a little slow.

Rolled in for a pub crawl and at first was told couldn't handle the 30 people we had. Then the only friendly waitress directed us upstairs where the bartender was brutal and wait staff not at all friendly. Terrible experience Will be sure to tell all and never come back. Good luck seeing how the group was for the most part all locals Don't go there

I went to the liquor store few nights ago with about 5 ish minutes left until close after enjoying some delicious food and drinks at the pub. As we enter the liquor store the girl working showed terrible customer service and counted down every single minute left until they had to close and said it as she did not want our service at all. As we walk out the door she slams it shut and had a few words to say which I couldn’t catch. But, I was very dissatisfied with how she conducted that customer experience and management should look into this as customers shouldn’t be treated in this manner when all they are doing is supporting your business

The food was magnificent and it was a great night for sitting out on their large patio. The batter on my fish and chips was crisp and light, and fantastic!!!! There was alot of beef on my boyfriend's beef dip and it was really tasty!! We have definitely added the Barley Mill Brew Pub to our list of restaurants to eat at when we come back to Penticton in Sept.

Food was ok. service was awful! Once the waitress finally took drink orders we waited 20 minutes then had to ask where the drinks were took and other 10 minutes to get drinks . She brought kids tg menus to color on without crayons had to ask twice for that. Asked here to bring to go containers she brought two for 5 of us. When we tried to call her again to get bill and more containers she was to busy talking to other servers. So another waitress helped us finish up . When I used to come here when I lived in Penticton everything used to be really good. Food and service there would be nothing to complain about, but now I would never return.

Went to watch ufc fights. Arrived early to get a good seat, found good seat and sat. Waitress immediately told me that the seat I was sitting in was reserved for a long time customer and I could pick another seat at that table or sit at the bar, as all the other empty tables near me were reserved (they had reserved signs on them, the table I was at had not a reserved sign). I was off-put, but opted to take the wife and move to the bar. That seat and table stayed empty. The waitress can keep that long time customer, who evidently went somewhere else that night, above a present and potential future long term customer like me. Next time I will go elsewhere. I will probably be sitting next to the customer for whom she shrugged me off. Way to make a new customer feel welcome! I will not return.

Went with the family not knowing what to expect. We were amazed at how delicious all the food was. French dip came with onion ring garnish which were well seasoned and perfectly crunchy. Beef on the bun was stacked high and high quality. Finished off with a red pepper sauce which added a little kick. Wife had the fish and chips said it was one of the best shes ever had. Better than fish at white rock beach for sure. Batter was thin but crunchy not a bite was missing cod. Father in law had the Reuban not a big eater anymore, but every bite was stuffed in without a peep.

Fantastic pub fare. Good prices. Local beverage options. Serving is usually good, but there have been a couple misses. Cozy atmosphere with options for private or semi private meeting spaces. My only yuck is the taxidermy on the walls; just not my thing. Overall a great pub - looking forward to many more meals from them.

My wife and I have been struggling through COVID as many other families have. We had finally managed to be able to order out once a month to support our local restaurants. Tonight, she decided to order from the Barley Mill. She placed an order through their online to go page. Over an hour went by and she never received any confirmation for pick up so, she called. They said, it would take another 15 more minutes. Straight away she called back and she then asked if she could cancel the order (they obviously hadn’t cooked it as it was just one dish) and they said they didn’t know how to do that nor refund her because they couldn’t see the online order and that their manager would come tomorrow and would give her a call back. So my wife, tired and hungry just decided to go ahead with it anyway, they THEN said it was going to take another 20 to 25 minutes. Can you imagine the frustration? She went in to pick it up (it didn't seem that they were busy at all so we don't understand such delay) They weren’t apologetic at all. The waitress that greeted her at the door and proceeded to bring her food over had HER MASK PULLED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO HER CHIN. My question to the owner is: how is this upholding any precautions through the pandemic? (as a reply from an above bad review says and I wish we had seen before ordering) We will be throwing that meal away tonight. We used to be regulars pre-covid but sadly, we will never be ordering from the Barley Mill again nor be encouraging anyone to order here. What a huge disappointment.

The first time I came for lunch, service was good,food was excellent.
