Great atmosphere and amazing staff. Continues to be one of my favourite places for cocktails. One of our group had a mild medical emergency during one visit and severs were very reactive and helpful. Certainly a repeat customer here????????

The Moonroom is a fantastic spot to meet friends or a date for delicious cocktails. The drinks are of a very high quality and the prices reflect it. The bar staff are very polite and always ready to give you recommendations to find you the perfect drink. The meal options are a bit limited, with just tapas style dishes on the menu. They're good as a snack but at their price, not worth it if you're looking for a satisfying meal. The Moonroom is worth it for any craft cocktail aficianado looking to wet their whistle.

Nice place , welcoming staff and drinks are perfect , the only thing I didn't like is the tables and chairs. They aren't very comfortable.

Had a lovely experience at the Moonroom! Went for 6pm on Friday night (was a bit rainy; no wait for a table) before going to the 8pm show at Absolute Comedy. Hadn’t been to Moonroom since moving to Ottawa in 2014, and 7 years was too long to leave in between visits. Service was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was so cozy. No indoor seating is available right now, so all seating is on the patio. We were seated in the covered section, which was very intimate and pretty with the lights. Food and drinks were amazing. I had the Cocoa Caliente cocktail, which will definitely warm you up! Also had the grilled cheese, which was fantastic. Need to come back more!

What an incredible place. Amazing tapas style dinner with fresh, tasty summer inspired drinks, overlooking a gem of a garden in the heart of Preston street. Attentive, inspired servers with a clear passion for the food and drink they serve. Best dinner we've had in forever!!

Wow! What a fun place. (Outdoor patio only at this time) I was there recently on a rainy night and the staff was so kind to help keep us dry on their patio. Server was very friendly and super helpful with drink recommendations. I'll definitely be back.

Great vibe, amazing cocktails and very friendly staff. They are taking great precautions given the current pandemic. Truly enjoyed our cocktails and the menu looks delish also. Will definitely be back.

The staff was really nice and the atmosphere really cool. I just found it really expensive. $18 dollar drink, however, I think because of the alcohol in the drink that's why it cost more. The food is meant to be shared so you'd have to order a lot I think to be full. Definitely don't get a full meal option.

Really interesting place; great atmosphere lots of fun little bites - we didn't eat because we just came from dinner at another restaurant, but the truffle/parmesan popcorn the table next to us was having smelled soooooo good. Drinks selection is great; your usual fancy-artisan style drinks with special twists. The owners (?) seem very enthusiastic about the whole thing, which is always nice to see. Only complaint was the long wait times to get our drink orders - yes, the place was busy, but we've been to many similarly, if not more, busy places before and this was unusual - about 25-30 minutes for our first round and 15 minutes for the second one...

This is one of coziest and cutest backyard patios I have seen around the Preston area! I love the fairy lights and how the garnish comes from their actual garden. The Garden Cocktail is their version of an Aperol Spritz, and it’s delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s worth it.

Always such a treat to be here! The shishito peppers and halibut ceviche are must-trys. Do not leave without having their truffle Parm popcorn! It is amazing! They have such tasty cocktails and wine as well. Add to that fabulous service and wonderful ambiance, it makes for a great night out!

The garden mojito was very strong, not in terms of alcohol content but in terms of mint and lime. Way too sour compared to regular mojitos and tasted like you're eating mint. The reverse Manhattan is very very bitter so get that if you like bitter drinks. Service was friendly and professional though. Service and atmosphere were the only two redeeming factors of my afternoon at Moonroom

I was extremely happy to see this place again. My first visit here was back in 2011 during my last trip to Ottawa and I really loved the vibe, the food, and cocktails they had available. Returned again just recently on my trip to Ottawa, and this place is just like I remembered it to be. Incredibly friendly staff, and amazing cocktails; no food ordered this time, as we came for post-dinner cocktails. I hope this place is still around the next time I visit Ottawa (whenever that will be).

My group had a great time here; really enjoyed the vibe especially with the pellet stove next to us. We were there late finishing our drinks (I felt bad but it happens) and they didn't rush us at all. I did find the prices to be high but would recommend for special occasions.

The Moonboard charcuterie was delish! My friend and I had that as an opener before having the Sage Chicken and Blistered Shishitos - which were just as delish. Awesome atmosphere, and super friendly service!

First time at the Moonroom, stopped in for a pre dinner cocktail. I've heard great comments regarding this place and was not disappointed. Service, ambiance and the now required extra health and safety measures were all excellent. Tried the Pierre Noel cocktail, it was delicious. Looking forward to my next visit.

I came here for the first time last night because the food looked unique and so did the drinks. When I arrived everyone was super friendly and I love the patio! The server was extremely helpful and knew her stuff! The drinks were interesting and delicious and so was the food. I tipped very well due to the fact I really enjoyed my experience. When my friend and I were leaving I told her I would definitely be coming back and telling my friends about this place!. On the way out is when everything went SOUTH. I used the handsanitiser on the way out and then saw a basket of disposable masks. I reached for one not realizing they cost money because I guess I had missed the sign if there was one. The women behind the bar said "those arent for free" I immediately said sorry I didnt know and put it back. She then said aggressively "well now that you touched it it cant be used" so I then said oh so do i take it now? She said yes pay 2 dollars. I was literally bafffled at how she was speaking to me. I again said sorry for touching It and she just kept repeating "pay us 2 dollars" It was clearly a mistake me touching the mask not realzing there was a fee...apologized only for her to treat me like some bum off the street. Tell the red headed girl behing the bar she should not be in this industry and she is making you loose good paying customers who love to eat out! What a shame and horrible end to a very good evening out.Time away from my two kids and I get spoken to how she spoke to me.

Not a good experience here. One word best suites this place: Pretentious. From the 10 rules on the drink menu and vulgarity throughout, to the $20+ cocktails, and the below par service, I wont be going back. This place has a beautiful garden and terrace with heated lamps, which is appealing at least. Their speciality cocktails are overrated and use cheap liquor given the insane price tag that comes with. Even ordering a basic drink there will set you back $17–19 minimum and is no better than your average bar that charges say $10-12 for the same thing. I felt out of place, upset with the insane bill for a few mediocre drinks, and am only giving three stars because if you’re loaded with cash and don’t mind the pretentiousness and rules, then this place is perfect for you. Overall, major let down as I was so excited to finally try it here and left feeling broke and not buzzed enough for the price tag.

Great spot for amazing cocktails. Lots of fresh ingredients used and grown in the back lot. Food seems amazing but haven't tried it yet. Will update again once I do but I expect great things. Staff is very accommodating and friendly.

A cool spot on Preston street for cocktails and snacks. Great patio in the back, but we got a table by the front. Had their Absinthe Minded cocktail - very delicious. Not usually a fan of liquorice but the citrus notes made the drink very unique and delicious. Had the truffle popcorn as a snack - love the salty notes and goes well with the drink.

Definitely one of the best cocktail bars I've been to in Ottawa. First their outdoor patio is so beautiful and it's covered! Only thing is the high tables are a little uncomfortable but other than that it was a great experience. The server was very knowledgeable in mixology so she helped us understand the drinks.

Absolutely beautiful scenery in the evening. Their use of fresh herbs from their garden makes the drinks taste fresh and light. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is due to their overcrowded space during quarantine. However, the protocols were still followed. Less crowding is personal preference. The customer service was fantastic here, waitress/host was great at explaining what each drink contained and the drinks themselves were amazing. Would highly recommend trying at least once.

Truffle/parmesan popcorn is really good and the drinks are quite elaborate. Footprint is small, which can be unfortunate for larger groupings. Cute place for an intimate date though!

Moonroom was a great experience. Currently no dine-in and no reservation, it offers patio dining at the back. Patio has heaters installed so cold wasn’t a problem. They seem to be able to make all the classic cocktails, and deliciously! I would love to come back again.

Very tasty and creative cocktails and snacks in a very pretty and cozy atmosphere. As of this writing, they are only open for outdoor service still, but they’ve made the most of it with heaters on the patio. Staff is super friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that the cocktails are substantially more expensive than most other places in the city — I think a mug of warm cider was $18. A version of an old-fashioned was $22. And a (delicious) grilled cheese sandwich was also around $18. I realize they might be charging closer to cost-of-living prices than other places, and perhaps this is simply the new reality of eating out. But I have to admit the bill did cause a moment of sticker shock for a place that’s lovely but not what I’d call “fancy.” Still, very much recommended.

More people should visit this gem during the pandemic. It's less crowded and you get to enjoy an amazing neighborhood bar like atmosphere! Great place to take your quarantine date.

I really enjoy coming here. Service is great. Bartenders are friendly, nice, and very knowledgeable on their drinks! The atmosphere is really cool with the place just being lit up with candles. The space is small but cute and acquaint. I personally love settings like these. Cocktails are about 10-15 dollars, however worth it! Would highly recommend for a date night especially!
