The staff is great. Riley's is clean, has a good variety of people, a nice pub downstairs and great pool hall upstairs. The only missing star is with the food. If they could hire a good chef to create a simpler, higher quality menu, Id be more inclined to go for dinner instead of my 12pm wings. The wings are good!

This place can get busy but it is very spacious. Staff are great and the food is pretty good too. I have the Alberta blue steak, highly recommended. Pool hall with lots of tables is upstairs. Riley's is located right next to a parking structure and the General Motors Centre is a 5 min walk so it is a great place to meet up before a show or to grab a couple of drinks after a game.

Riley's is the spot my good buddy and I go to shoot pool regularly! The staff are amazing there, I have been going here for years so a few have grown to recognize me and will strike conversation. Food is tasty and decently quick to come. Free pool on Sundays is a huge plus for me!

My Philly Steak dinner was horrible. The meat was so dry it literally crumbled when I tried to cut it. I would have been embarrassed to serve that to a customer. When I received my bill, the charge for dinner was not taken off, I had to speak with the waitress about having it removed. I have been to Riley's several times with great experiences, however, I will not be returning after my last experience.

I've been going here for years and I never had complaints until recently. My mother and I decided we would go have lunch there the other day, we walked in and it was dead - 3 people working all standing at the bar.. we waited for over 10 mins and not a single person came over to serve us - they watched us get up and leave and didn't say a single word. Decided to go there this evening for dinner and the portion we got was half of what we get every other time we go there and they said that was the norm there.. which it definitely is not. We got alcoholic beverages as well and the 3 of us could agree it didn't seem like an alcoholic beverage at all, we didn't feel a thing.. it seemed diluted. The waiter seemed annoyed that we brought anything up and just walked away after basically saying "this is normal." I'm not impressed at all, Riley's has always been my favourite but now I'm hesitant to go back!

Pretty standard pub upon first glance. Unusually busy for a Wednesday afternoon, only one server initially. But she did a good job considering (I meant to get her name but forgot). We told her we didn't have much time, that wasn't a problem either. Timely and pleasant service. Not amazing food but good.

This place is amazing! By far the best place to go in Oshawa. The building is BEAUTIFUL, the staff is gorgeous AND great at their jobs, there's pool upstairs & music all around. Another fantastic note is that their food is delicious, properly prepared & incredibly fairly priced. I WILL be going back . Absolutely recommend to anyone.

Great venue in Oshawa! Nice pool hall and lounge upstairs. They hosted a piano player last time I was there and he played beautifully. Great spot to mingle with others and meet new and interesting people as well.

Used to come here weekly when time afforded. Great place, awesome friendly staff, and the food (namely, wings) are amazing. Definitely recommend coming out on 1/2 price wing Mondays. Main floor is great for get togethers, and the upper pool hall and lounge are extremely cozy and comfortable

I used to really love Rileys. It was a great experience eating there in the past, usually in person. I've ordered from this location multiple times in the past year and it was a really subpar experience. Each time I ordered a chicken ceaser salad and each time they forgot the ceaser dressing. I'm not really the kinda dude to complain often but this has been 3 times in a row and each time the salad dressing was nowhere to be found. I don't have salad dressing at home... pretty much just wasted three of my orders. I know people can get distracted and it's busy and mistakes can happen but it's a consistently a thing. Just kinda gave up ordering here. Hopefully you'll have a better experience.

I loved the setup. The idea to the pool and being served was great. The only 2 problems I found were there was a lot of staff and security that were more interested in watching the girls or talking to each other then watching out for any situations. Second there was only 1 server so getting your drink took a long time so you had to go get your own from the bar which when your posting for pill by the hour starts to add up.

This was my first time out in a long time. It was nice. They have an okay selection of drinks. The service was a tad bit slow but okay. We were in the back patio section. There was something strange about the flavour of the coke. I feel like they need to clean the tubes it something. It was disgusting. Ruined my rum and coke. Either that or they watered down the rum. Personally I don't think I'll be back here again just because the drink, but they have decent pub food and they have a pool tables on the second floor.

All around this experience wasn't what i was expecting. I sat on the patio as it was a sunny day however i found out that they don't serve the craft beers they serve downstairs on the patio for some reason. I can understand later at night in a club type atmosphere to only limit to beers served upstairs available but for dinner at 5pm you should be able to get all beers on tap. As for food i got a southern chicken wrap (was supposed to be the rileys favorite item) i found it to be very bland. Had to order a side of hot sauce to give it more of the southern kick i was expecting. Service i have no complaints about. I got my food and drinks without issue. Biggest flaw was that they served limited drinks on the patio, that's gotta change during dinner hours at least!

I will give them 5 stars because of the amazing service we recieved from Andrew and the great food from the kitchen. The wait time for the food was adequate, but when we got it, it was delicious. As for the service, it was beyond my expectations. I will be back only because of the service. They were very busy and their servers were hustling and making sure every customer was taken care of. Their nachos are one of the best I have ever had. Two people would have trouble eating their nachos. They go all out on it. Add the chicken! Great size and half price on Tuesday. Great staff and are so easy to like and will make you want to come back again. Plenty of good food their and a great place to go before a Gens game.

Had no idea Riley's was also in Oshawa, not just in Petwrborough. Our waitstaff, in Oshawa had no personalality( bigger girl), could have been more friendlier, and the cook, burnt our chucken a little( could have been busy, & yes I know, nobody wants to work thru the Pamdemic..???? Otherwise, food was ok.

Place has a warm, friendly atmosphere. Great tunes with classic rock vibe. Tables are good, cues are good, service is good. Very happy with the food we ordered - nachos with chili, bruschetta, breaded mushrooms were yummy. 3 hours on a table, 3 apps, 2 rum & cokes and a jug of draft was $90 plus a tip. Compared to a meal only at Hardy John's of 2 apps, one pasta dish, 2 rum & cokes and 2 draft costing $72, I'd say a bargain. Was a fun night with friends, will definitely be back! ????

It was a quiet place despite hockey game being on. 1/2 price apps on Monday. Server was prompt. Food was alright, not amazing, but typical of a pub. Fairly priced food overall. Plenty of seating options. Parking seems to be street only.

Really nice place. Went out on a date. Best part was, her and I had the whole floor to ourselves. Would be great if there was a crowd of people. Don't know if it's the covid thing or a lack of marketing. Both of us are from Toronto and are not used to such wide open and empty spaces. Nothing against the bar restaurant, but maybe they should think of better ways to show their business

Was here on a Friday night with my partner. Service was incredibly slow, especially given how few patrons there were inside. The employees seemed more interested in standing around the bar chatting. Our food took a while to arrive again given how dead it was I was surprised and our server never came back to see how we were doing or refill drinks. Food was subpar and menu was exactly what you'd expect of parefare, nothing interesting or new. Wouldn't waste my time coming here again

Great authentic pub style food and good sized portions. Great atmosphere but can be loud on a Friday or Saturday night or a night of a sports tournament or playoff. Choose the time of your visit depending on the experience you wish to have.

Lower level is nice. Pool hall area, wayyyyy to dark, absolutely no where to sit. If your scoring for pool, bring a book light to see what your doing. Beer and drinks are over priced. Tables are not very well kept. They make money off the early 20's crowd. Bring your own cues, bar cues are mostly broken old fighting bats.

If you're going to eat at Riley's you've gotta go to their roof top patio. The food here is amazing and the staff are fantastic. The Sheppard's pie and waffle fries are delicious!

Always heard how good it was and my niece frequented the Peterbourgh location and said it was good. We finally went! I had the "Married salad" -not on Oshawa menu. Sooooo delicious! I held back for 3 days from getting another. Then went back for takeout(not half as good for takeout and lady at the bar-bordering on rude) Most appetizers were good. Jerk wings-mmm not very often wings come out with cold sauce on them. Spinach dip-amazing! Entrees were all good. Portions were good. Our waiter-amazing!

Honestly the overall experience is not great anymore. Staff are less than engaged. Service is slow. Food is sub par at best, my chicken wings were tiny and many had broken bones. Beware of 1/2 price app night, some of the items are not quite half price and they will not let you take anything home. I would understand if you ordered the whole menu worth of appetisers and didn't eat very many. But when you order 3 plates of apps for 2 people to eat and have 5 pieces left over it seems a bit ludicrous that you can not take them home. It is sad because I used to enjoy going to Riley's. Now I likely will only go there if it is late and there are no other restaurants open.

The place was busy due to a function at the Tribute Community Centre down the street. Not enough servers to go around and we were waiting quite a bit for service. But when the server was at our table, we were serviced perfectly. One of my friend's order wasn't to her liking - she didn't even eat half the portion- and it was taken care of. We would have preferred a replacement, but again, it was difficult to flag our server down.

The food at this restaurant was excellent. The grilled chicken meal was real chicken, grilled to perfection served with grilled veggies, mashed potatoes and a salad. The grilled chicken burger with fries was also great. The burger was juicy and not dry. I would definitely order food from here again.

Sat on the back patio (bond side) it's nice and quiet (lunch time Sunday) Got the Rueben wrap with french onion soup.... Absolutely amazing. I would order both again and this is coming from someone to tends to order vegetarian while at a restaurant ???? My fiance got the Mediterranean burger with the traditional Greek salad and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious they both were. Caesars could use some "jazzing up" very plain and no garnish with it. Adding a pickle or some olives or even a piece of bacon would have added alot to it. Thank you Andrew your service was perfect. You were there anytime we needed another drink or had a question and made sure not to approach the table to often.. will definitely be back.

Food was pretty good, drink times were long and food was longer. Our server, Lexi was a gem though. That girl had her work cut out for her and she did a great job

I enjoyed the Steakanator steak sandwich and a bowl of their turkey and rice soup. Both were delicious and our group of 15 was served quickly and were checked upon frequently, throughout our visit in the morning. My only complaint was some meals were handed to the wrong people, but aside from that our whole group experience was great. Would gladly recommend this place for a sit down lunch!

Working in hospitality and hearing many good things about this place I expected better service. The girl looked like she did not want to be there, there were only three tables in the restaurant and she was not attentive to any of them. I sat with my drink empty timing for about 20 mins before I finally asked her for a refill. Once again we waited for a about half an hour or possibly longer before she came back with the bill. Friend finally got up to get the server and she was sitting on her phone before she arrived not once did she willingly walk up to our table after serving us. The food wasn’t overly special I would definitely go somewhere else for more proactive service. It was a Wednesday night, it’s not hard to serve 3 tables especially on a less busy night you think your server would be trying to emphasize their attention to the customer even if they want to be on their phone at least try to earn their tip. You think the servers would want the restaurant to make profit to be able to have more staff on and get more hours but clearly she didn’t care about her job. Update Never heard back from the restaurant still 1 star

One of our favourites! We sat on the patio on the upper level. Our orders were taken promptly and served quickly. Both orders arrived as requested. Greeter Carrie was personable and professional. Our server was Jane. She was probably the best server we had encountered over the past few years. She was also personable, professional, got our orders correct and made time for conversation and made us feel important. Will definitely return.

What a great patio on the upper level ! The food, service, and covid protocols were all great. We felt very safe and comfortable dining here and the staff did an amazing job of cleaning. In addition , the service was excellent. We were greeted pleasantly by Carrie, and Jane was one of the best and most attentive servers we have ever had. We enjoyed delicious, well cooked and seasoned chicken wings and a wrap with Greek salad. As usual, the food was excellent.

Love coming here for a beer and something to eat. Food is good and servers are friendly. Its a great spot to sit back and chill with friends. They also have a bunch of pool tables upstairs, but it does get busy on weekends, plus the club is next door, so lots of the students are there then, so if you're looking for more of a relaxed and laid back experience, dont go on weekends. Still a great place regardless.

Just had another horrible experience. The staff were so rude to customers. Not young and buying one beer, our bill was quite high and they almost seemed annoyed that we were asking for drinks. We tried to pay the bill and were yelled at for asking to split the bill 4 ways. They told us it couldn’t be done?? Not sure how you run a business like that. Honestly if you are miserable at your job, quit. Find something else. Dont take it out on your customers.

Their prices are a little high for the quality of the place. Tables are in rough shape, and there was dirty plates, leftover food and drink glasses all over the tables near the pool table we rented. This all cost $35 for an hour / hour and a half. Seems a little high for the condition of the place.

Great wings for size and flavours. The Hot Honey and the Forty Creek are our favourites. Also the best nachos we have had in years. It's a vegetarian base with a good selection of meat toppings that can be added. Definitely worth the drive for take out! Customer service is great too, so definitely worth dining in when they're allowed to re-open.

Wow!...blown away by the service. Was there last night just after 8PM. Our server 'Jane' is an absolute 'rock star'.. she was working mostly alone in 'the pub' from what we could tell.. While the phone was ringing constantly, 'Skip the D' and 'Uber E' drivers zoomed in and out, and there were tables outside that she was serving as well.... this lady rocked it.. our order was perfect, even with all of our 'modifications' to the menu items, service was unbelievably prompt given how busy it was.. and all of it delivered with a cheerful, 'customer first' attitude. Highly recommend Riley's Oshawa for food quality and exceptional service.

Ordered a chicken club wrap not bad but nothing really special about it. Side was onion rings not sure if they were made in house or not they were tasty though leaning towards bagged rings. Large menu so something for everyone. Service was adequate for a Tuesday night. Bar Tender was also server one waitress had to cover rest of room. Decour was good. What is really good if you like pool. Full on pool hall upstairs. I was by myself so I didn't play but looked very inviting. You can get food service upstairs as well. Would I come back? Yes I would.

Worked here for years. We were promised our positions back when covid closures were lifted. Instead they did a job fair and didn't even bother to contact us. Pathetic to see people cannot appreciate workers as humans during a global pandemic. Plus staff photo was still being displayed online of employees who were abandoned, and when asked to remove it, they blocked me. Pathetic and heartless.

I think they changed their chicken wings here. As they were much more plump and definitely tastier then I remember! 1/2 price appetizer nights are the best. Waitress was extremely friendly which makes the experience that much more enjoyable!

Found this place by accident as we are not locals. Patio is open! Wait-staff were fantastic, friendly and on top of customers' needs as well as keeping the tables and all touch-points clean. Food was excellent! Montreal Rueben sandwich and house made French onion soup was an outstanding combo. Snakebite wrap with fries were phenomenal.

Very Slow Service. A disorganised operation in so many ways. Food came out one by one, and cold. Had to go to the bar to get drinks. Had to track down our own cutlery. Spent over 2 hours there and had to leave our cold food behind as we had event tickets. One of my dinner companions was force to wrap her dinner up in a napkin and eat on the way. It's worth noting that the Waitress was great, working very hard, and clearly not supported by the management at Riley's. Will not be back

Went for my friend's birthday. Nice place. But we were shocked by the level of service. Sat in the lounge upstairs. It was very nice and comfortable up there. When we went downstairs to the restaurant a waitress made a concerted effort to ignore us repeatedly... Probably thought we weren't worth a lot in tips... Staff were discourteous if not outright rude. Definitely not what I was expecting based on other reviews.

Second time here. Great space, staff was fantastic, nice choice in music and food is great. Spent over 6 hours here between their patio and moving inside when it got chilly out. Would definitely recommend and would return.
