Slow service for a dead night. The waitress brought us our bill and I tried to pay, but the chip failed, so we did it the old school way using the swipe, she left then came back with my receipt and it had WAYYY more drinks/food added to it than what I swiped for. She said the extra charges were removed. A few weeks later I check my credit card statement, and there it is! 2 charges. I got both charges removed after calling visa. Free drinks all night...still never going back.

This place is great if you wanna sit down and enjoy some time with friends and enjoy some great food. One of my friends insists on coming here for every special occasion and sometimes just to talk. It has a great environment and the staff are timely. I don't really come here for the sports bar aspect but it's definitely got enough seating and TVs to do the part, if that's what you're looking for and you've got friends to hang out with or maybe you're just looking to meet some people who are into it this place is good for it too. The food is phenomenal, whether you're here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Plenty of menu items to choose from that have all been great so far.

It's a laid back place with kareoke on Sundays. If your lucky you will be served by some of their best staff like Bella. Bella struck me as an exceptional server. They r not your regular "will serve anybody" joint. Their staff and environment is what makes a difference.

If you don’t care about good food or good service but enjoy playing pool than you might like this place. The service was slow and when the food came it was greasy and disappointing. I really hope these aren’t the best wings in town as they claim they are, because they were dry and not very meaty (we had Parmesan garlic.) Our server went off to fold napkins and never came back to check on us so I had to go up and ask for the bill. I could tell she was annoyed. Don’t plan on returning.

Great wings and dill pickles but everything else I've tried is sub par. Their deep fried dill pickles are good. Well seasoned batter. Their ribs were tender and fall off the bone but tasteless. Their bbq sauce has no spice in it, it tastes similar to ketchup. Their calamari is the worst I've ever had. Soggy, chewy mess with no flavour.

Came for lunch with my co-worker a beautiful Friday, our main server seems a little bit edgy upon our arrival, we were seated on the patio and order 2 drinks, a burger meal and wings. At first I was unsure if I wanted fries and my server with the most attitude proceeded to ask me “Do you want the fries or NOT” which I replied no because she seemed upset about something as I didn’t wanna hassle her for anything at that point. Our food was good but service was horrible. My server did not acknowledge me the whole time. When we asked for the bill, I had told her it will be one bill. She brought the bill and gave it to my co-worker when I had already made it clear that I will be paying for the meals. I don’t know if this is because I was a black man in a Oakville restaurant but I shouldn’t have to feel that way while going out for lunch to a empty restaurant at that time.

I have been there a few times since the partners were bought out and I have to say the friendly atmosphere I use to see is no longer there. The family concept is gone; and that was the best part. My hand was always shaken when I walked in the door and they made sure everything was better than satisfactory. After the couple of time I went back it's missing. Won't go back.

Used to live right beside this place. Good wings. Suicide wings used to be hotter. Servers are friendly. Food is quite good. Prices are fair. If you have to much to drink, talk to the bartender, they will give you a slip that you can put in your window so you can leave your car there and it won't get towed. Watching the games here is also great. There are TV's everywhere. I was here when Boston beat Toronto in overtime game seven of the first round of the playoffs a few years ago. Enjoyed the beef ribs, went home sad. Check these guys out

Just went in for a couple beers tonight, and let me tell you i'll never go back, the service was atrocious. The bartender was named Elizabeth and she was absolutely terrible. When I first got in it took her about 10 minutes to even acknowledge me, mainly because she was busy texting on her phone the entire time... The beer I ordered was completely flat and when i mentioned it she laughed at me and said I was wrong and if i wanted something else i could have it but completely shrugged me off and walked away. By the time she got around to getting me another beer it was about 15 minutes later. after i finished that beer, i wanted the bill, but once again couldn't pull this waitress away from texting on her phone long enough to give me a bill or tell me at least what i owed. then when i asked for change she spent the next 10 minutes talking to another waitresss...lets just say I will never go back in fear of having this god awful bartender serve me again, and i suggest you do the same..

This bar has been a popular hang out for a lot of my friends, and a decent half way point to meet up so I've been a good dozen times or so. I've always found it to be way too loud, but at least the crowd and staff were always friendly. I think the prices are pretty fair, and I really like the food most of the time. Aside from the time the pierogies made me violently ill. Over all, it's fine. I keep going back, but if I knew anywhere else as convenient I'd probably go there too.

Food was very bad. Tasted old, rushed and my double baked potatoes were dry and burnt. Very little care and attention to food, restaurant cleanliness (Ii.e. Dust) and the service was terrible. Took a very long time (both times in) for the server to come, once she came she took half our order and we got our food at very different times when everyone else was done. She disappears and runs around chatting with other costumers while making eye contact, slacking off as the place wasn’t busy. Eventually we had to go get her. We spent a total of 1h40m here to get 1 appetizer and much later some ribs that we returned and waiting for the server constantly even when she walked past us several times. I am not expecting a 5 star service from a small pub but if you’re gonna charge me money, make it worth my while. I’ve been to all kinds of places. I am not a stuck up costumer; I just expect bare decent costumer service. Not trying to be difficult, just honestly reviewing the place and experience here.

Don’t expect any booze in your cocktails. The mojito was a small glass of sugary water with one single leaf of mint. I literally could not even smell any alcohol in it. My friend ordered spiced rhum and ginger beer and again, the same. The drink was clear despite the dark rhum in it. The wings were alright and the appetizers were so-so. The service was good.

Great for a quick pub bite or for a game a pool. Get your billiard table racked up for a toonie or come in for a cheap wings night. Adorned by 20 Plus tv's this is Oakville version of real sports bar. Monaghan' s has a nice patio during the summer however it's for both smokers and non smokers. Another worthy point is that this is primarily a Sheridan college hangout so if young people bother you, you'll need to make your way south to Harper's landing or North to Williams pub.

The place is taking shape...but very slow. Came in expecting specials on the wall... but none... the prices have increased but the service has declined drastically. I was sitting at the bar for 10 minutes while on bartender sat at the computer. With a look on his face, as if to say you're desturbing me. Just then a young lady came out to take my order.. although much better then the young man.. I found her very inefficient but pleasant! The device in general is very slow...not what I am use to when I came to Monaghans. Food was ok.. but the cost increase.. is a little hard to digest ....Disappointed. ...

We had the fish and chips (tasty), the vegetarian pizza (tasty), the veg penne pasta (not tasty) and the veggie burger (surprisingly good) as a group. The atmosphere was a bit sterile for a sports bar, and the weird genere live music distracted from the sound of the games being played. One of the pool tables broke while we were there, and while our waitress/the bartender was very pleasant, the table checks for refills/service were fairly sporadic and too spaced apart. Overall, this is an average, but expensive place to have a meal and catch the game. The TVs were plentiful and huge at least.

Bought 6 pounds of wings on their wing night special. A friend/coworker was raving about them so I gave it a chance. I like to think of myself as a wing aficianado Having tried many if not all of the local wing spots in the peel, Halton areas. The good.. wing size were pretty big! Which held true to reputation and they were cooked well and not overdone. The price was a dollar a wing on wing night. Not the cheapest around by any means but if you factor the size of the wing it's justified. The not so good.. the flavours were honestly just okay.. which is the most important factor in my opinion. I went based on the recommendations of my friend/co-worker and made a few selections myself. Monaghans own was the best of what we picked (hickory, Cajun, Cajun BBQ, garlic Parmesan) I will probably give this place another shot one day in the future and try completely different flavors and maybe my rating will change! But for now I was let down by the hype

They have weathered the last lockdown with an active patio, and are now positioned to resume full service. Great People, from management to Bar and service staff! The only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the friendly staff which is why I'm giving it 2 stars the few times I have been the food has been mediocre the restaurant was dirty the bathrooms were only half working/under construction the pool tables are all torn up and the prices are on par with anywhere else. you're better off heading a few minutes up the road to another sports bar/pub the only reason this place is popular is because its 30 seconds away for hundreds of students

Amazing place. Great atmosphere and food. UPDATED: I rated this place five stars over a year ago. However, I feel the service has been extremely hit and miss on my visits this year. The one female server there in particular (Kenzie) seems more interested in chatting with people at the pool tables than actually serving customers. On my last visit over a week ago, it took almost half an hour for her to give me the bill after I was finished eating because she was too busy chatting, and the place was not even remotely busy. She is usually abrupt as well. She seems to rush me so she can talk to the people who aren't even ordering anything at the time. Everything else about this place (Including the food) is lovely, but some of the staff need to understand that customer service should be your number one priority, not engaging in long conversations with people you click with well. Not sure if I will be back.

If you asked me to rate Monaghan's a couple months ago I would never give them 5 stars but recently the food quality and the atmosphere of this place has shot up. The burgers here are absolutely delicious. Pool tables are pretty good here but there should be a set game limit so others can get a turn (waited an hour to play). Alcohol here is standard pricing for a bar.

Wings came with feathers still on. I understand mistakes like this happen but manager told us that's how they always serve them and we should get sauce next time so they are harder to notice. Any good restaurant knows to remove excess feathers remnants from the wings BEFORE serving them. Needless to say won't be going back again.

It is a pretty good bar to spend the night at, however the songs there are too loud, and the singer that comes on weekends is way too loud for the place, so sometimes it's hard to stay there and talk with friends. Other than that the staff is friendly and nice. Pool tables are also nice, I go there mostly to play pool and get a small appetizer, but it's also a bit too expensive

Never been treated so poorly by a server and their manager. Server was abrupt, rude, and rushed my friends and I into ordering and paying when we weren’t ready. When we brought our concerns to the manager, he became confrontational and refused to listen to our complaints. I’d give a 0 if I could.

Enough screens for sporting events and most importantly they (still) have some of the best wings you can buy at a bar! Incredible flavour and huge????.. Still have wing night on Monday's. It wasn't even a busy day, yet two waitresses doing nothing but talking to each other, I asked excuse me ladies, can we order? Points out at the "wait to be seated" sign and barely cleans the table before letting us sit. *smh disappears before asking are we ready to order. Should've gone to the Burger King next door. Ordered a fried pickle, which came 20 minutes later, and looked like it wasn't fresh. The batter appeared to be grocery store brand made bad quality, told her, who in return, said that's what everyone gets. NEVER COME HERE!

It's an alright bar. It's big and spacey, with some nice TVs and pool tables. The wings are subpar with barely any sauce, and the service was alright. But it's great as a after-work bar. Was served rancid beef on a 30$ platter of nachos. Server Erin was very concerned, nice and attentive to the issue. After speaking to the manager she said he offered a 20% discount or to remake it (most likely with the same beef). Manager wouldn't even show enough respect to speak to us directly and apologize as rancid food is obviously a health concern to be serving at their establishment. He pretty well stood behind the bar pointing at us throughout the night afterward with customers. We've been coming here for over 8 years, will not be returning. Good management is gone, Renovations won't save bad food

Not good. We were trying to support local business and heard Monahans was having trouble. We were starved, order $30 dollars of wings and $19 sandwich with onion rings and moza sticks. The wings tasted like they were made yesterday and reheated. Awful. Then skip the dishes said that restaurants wants $3 more for the onion wings get your act together - it was charged automatically. I see why Monahan's is having trouble, its not covid, their food sucks. 2 stars for uber fast delivery.

My fiancé and I caught covid 19 from monaghans. We self isolated together since March 15. We are both immunocompromised and needed to stay home. We have been very careful. We even purchased enough groceries for ourselves to last for 6 months and stayed home. When we felt safe enough to come out, we chose monaghans as our first place to go as that is where we met. It was very special to us. We have not been anywhere else.... we have only been out once since March 15, 2020. Monaghans is about to be shut down.. be very aware. They haven’t been safe and careful at their establishment. If we die they are getting sued.

This has got to be the worst bar I have ever been to. Waited an HOUR on a Monday night for 5 wings, all of which arrived cold with rude manager and staff. We were served by 'Roxy', who was rude and said 'hold on' when I requested her with an "excuse me", before disappearing into the back. I was in Oakville and decided to stop in to watch a game on a Saturday night. Great atmosphere, live music, many pool tables, darts. I liked the layout of the place as well it isn't huge. Bathrooms were clean. The wings were good, and I liked the 20 dollar wing pint deal. Really good crowd of people and plenty of tv's for sports. The almost star dropper for me was the service but Im sure it was because it was so busy. If I am in Oakville again I will be back. Thanks.

Whatever you do do not park in this plaza for long they have contracts with Phil’s towing they’re out watching for anyone that tries to get away with free parking or over 2 hrs. You will be towed within the moment you turn your back away and the cost is $401. Oakville has no bylaws these losers get away with doing whatever they want and will wreck your vehicle in the process. Please spread the word save your friends and family a bill towing headache. They don’t care if you have a receipt or proof of visiting plaza ... you’ll have to take them to court ... google reviews off Phil’s towing other customers have been through this! A friend of mine living in the area introduced this place to us and it was a great recommendation! 1. They seemed to comply with pandemic protocols well enough to make our visit feel safe. The place didn't get too busy and it was spacious inside so physical distancing was possible. 2. Wings were really good. The tequila lime sauce was pretty brilliant and delicious. As I love spicy, I had the Hellfire sauce on the side and immediately fell in love. It was tangy and actually spicy! I've tried suicide spicy flavored wings in many places here and there but a lot of them weren't spicy enough to satisfy me. But the one I had here did. Also the nachos! Although I don't think the chips are housemade but the toppings were generous and yummy!! Three of us feasted on all the food we ordered and still went home with lots of leftovers. 3. Our server though seemed pretty new judging from the little things that she did/didn't do to make our experience better but it didn't bother us too much. It would've been nice and made me order more drinks if she had checked on us shortly after the food was served and come by more often. I see myself going back if I happen to be in the area again!

Love this place. It's huge and has lots of room for sports teams. Talk to the owner about setting up a regular time for your men's league hockey, soccer or slow pitch to come in. Very accommodating. Do you like dry burgers ? Do you like more grease on your plate then water in your cup? Do you like waiting 20min to get your order taken? Well look no further you found your place. I can’t say my burger tasted bad cause it didn’t taste like anything at all the pop was flat the fries were burnt just all around not a good place to eat at all.

Ya first off I just want to say...screw this place and their useless staff. Went here for lunch and an hour later found out my car had been towed. After I brought this up to the manager I was informed that it usually happens there to their customers that they get towed on a regular basis which didnt make much sense as their was no option to buy a parking pass for that lot. After having to taxi it across oakville close to burlington to where my car was impounded I had to pay $400 just to get my car out of the lot. Didnt expect that to happen while going for lunch here. So ya people of the internet, avoid coming here at all costs if you dont want your car to get towed. They have no reasonable policy to pay for parking and they'd rather just tow your car instead after having it there a little over an hour. I understand its more of an issue that was dealt with by property management of the plaza but I was not happy with the lack of cooperation from monahans after I went in to express my situation. All the lady told me was 'damn that sucks, my car got towed a little while back too and I work here' which makes me wonder who in their right mind would want to work here let alone come in for lunch. I really hope I can get this message to alot of people as this is an utter outrage to pay $400 out of your pocket to get your car back plus whatever extra cost to taxi it. I cant beleive I wrote this entire review without swearing but seriously people don't come here....at all or atleast hope your close to walking distance.. also the service was just below par of mediorce, I didnt get a good vibe from my waitress...maybe she was just upset that she had pay $400 to get her car out of the impound. I dont know but If i managed that place I would go to very long lengths to ensure my customers cars dont get touched at the very least or move to another location because lets face it I'm never going back there again

Owner let a beer store truck unload and block in a bunch of cars. Noon on August 16 - prime lunch time for customers to use the plaza and the owner directed the Beer Store Truck #22021 - Plate BE 86671 - to block people in and then instead of having them move, let them unload before moving. Clearly their time double parking was much more important than me going to Rabbas to get medicine to take home that was needed.

Server walked past us for literally 20 mins helping people who had come in after us, made eye contact several times and just kept on walking. When we got our food it came out quick, but it was wrong. Tasted good though. Perhaps they were understaffed that night.

Bad..,bad.., they are liars...! I phoned them last Thursday to find out if they are having a band playing on last Saturday to celebrate with 15 people my sister's birthday .. They answered me that they are having a band on the Saturday....,we all got there and we ordered drinks and food...it was past 10 pm and no band showed up. Afterwards they say that is only a Man band. We waited and waited for "that man band"....and nothing happened. Finally, a waitress came to me to tell me that the one man band CANCELLED!!! They tricked us... At this point, we felt used, just bring my friends and consuming.... ...and that is dirty business!! They weren't honest Anyways, the stage is on the wrong side...it should be by the pools tables...so, every one can see the show or bands,.... if they don't lie...

Would give it 0 if I could. Service was slow. My burger exploded with grease when I bit it yet the burger meat was dry. No flavour either. This place is perfect for the elderly.

Would give 3 and a half stars if I could. Service levels tend to vary depending upon the night going here. Some servers can be wonderful and others not so much. Getting a pool table here generally isn't to difficult - although getting one of the standard sized ones can sometimes be a challenge. Pricing seems decent and it's nice that they have a jukebox here.

This place has been renovated and it looks great. The place is huge! New menu and drink specials almost every night. Pool Tables, lots of TV's screens, live music on weekends and a cool patio.

Walked in. Sunday 7:30pm. No one to seat us. Waited 4 minutes after seating ourselves ... cleaned the crumbs off our table... no one even acknowledged us... walked out. All staff seemed preoccupied by the blaring Leafs game
