Great family run Italian place in the heart of Oakville lakeshore area. They had an special menu for the taste if Oakville festival which included 3 course meals. Everyone in our group was pleased with their dishes. The staff/chefs were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole experience. We will definitely be going back for another dinner or brunch!

Tonight my husband and I went for our anniversary dinner This new restaurant gets a five out of five stars without a doubt. The service, decor, location, ambience, music and ultimately the food were to die for. I would recommend this restaurant to absolutely anyone and everyone. We attended for lunch with a group of 15, including 6 children. We had called in advance to discuss the logistics and they were very accommodating about ensuring that high chairs, booster seats and even some special kid friendly meals were available! The grown up food was delicious too. It's hard to find restaurants in downtown Oakville to accommodate a large group with young children, let alone some place with good service and food too! today i visit monastery bakery which allowed me to capture this. 2 employees from borgo antico cucina bar handling food like bacteria doesn't exist. they grab the baguettes with there bare hands and toss them into a dirty shopping cart, exposed to bacteria. I will never go back,please bag your baguettes people!

I would give them 10 stars if I could. We go to Borgo Antico whenever we want to enjoy good quality food. The staff members are awesome, they remember us and greet us with a great smile ALL THE TIME! Food and wine selection are awesome. We've tried seafood, pastas, steaks and their daily specials. It has always exceeded our expectations! We checked out this place for dinner last night and it was an amazing experience from when we walked in to be seated (for the patio) to payment. We didn’t have the appetite to try appetizers or dessert but the dish all three of us ordered and loved was the Gorgonzola gnocchi special. Two of us asked for it without crispy pancetta and the third ordered as is - it was a wonderful dish that hit the spot without being overly heavy. Every plate had been wiped clean. The bread and what seemed to be a roasted red pepper spread was a wonderful touch and also devoured. I actually preferred this place to Piano Piano, which has a nicer ambience but food-wise, I enjoyed Borgo better. Will definitely be back!

Looked at the menu which had some very tempting items despite our plans to just have a drink. I would go back to try the food for sure. I visited Borgo Antico in downtown Oakville on a whim for a small girls dinner on the patio and we were completely blown away by the ambiance, food, service, and overall hospitality. An authentic, local, family-owned restaurant that truly mirrors the experience you would have in Italy. No other Italian restaurant I’ve been to has given me an experience where not only do I feel I’m right in the heart of an Italian-city, but as though I was a guest in their home. The owners make an effort to make rounds to the tables, personally pouring beverages and serving food, interacting with guests, and truly appreciating your company. We didn’t expect to spend hours, but the food was so delicious, we tried something from every course and finished with cappuccinos, tea and even a little dessert wine. A place we’ll definitely return to again. Thank you Tino and the entire Borgo Antico crew!!!

Food is the highlight here, deserves more than 5 stars. Fresh, authentic italian cuisine from appetizer to dessert. Staff is very knowledgeable and make the atmosphere. Don't expect to have a dinner conversation though. Low ceiling, sparsely decorated (but nice) large dining room requires you to yell at your guests. Food prices are high (deservedly for the quality of the food).I was happy to pay the price. Cocktail prices on the other hand are excessive, even for restaurants.. I pay less for a cocktail in an airport where you know you're being gauged.

I love it, I love it. I it's a short menu, but there is a big reason behind it, each dish is crafted really, perfected, done with care and served with passion. I had the best steak in this place and it has been a while since I had a steak that delicious . The food is very well seasoned too, reminds me of what we are used to from Italian cuisines. The food is okay, menu is limited and wine list very expensive for mid-range wines. It was $16 for 4oz of their cheapest wine. We waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our food. The menus are also printed on pieces of plain office paper. Staff tried to be attentive, but appeared to be struggling to get out orders. Overall, the restaurant tries to price itself similarly to other high end Italian restaurants in the area but fails to provide anywhere near the level of service and the food does not justify the price point. I am Normally never a person to write a review, but this service was just that bad.

We had a super lunch! The specials were fantastic. We share starters and pasta. The starters were really lovely, then we had the pasta and the butternut squash ravioli was really superb with amaretto cookie over the top was great and only surpassed by the fungi pasta with truffle. For desert we had many great things but the ricotta sponge was superb. We will definitely be going back again!

Waiter wearing old Jean's and a dirty golf t-shirt. older waiter was rude right in front of us. Bathrooms disgusting. Wine was way overpriced. My dinner partner ended up with food poisoning. After public opening, we decided to go to a resturant in downtown oakville. We called and made reservations for night. When arrived, we told them we have a reservation, we were told to wait until we get to you. After 15 minutes waiting they asked us again and we told them we have a reservation. We were told to pick a table. We picked the table and waited 20 minutes for some one to bring the menu. The same person was serving next table who were sitting 5 minutes after us but because of different nature, they kept serving them. It took them for ever to ask us what we like to order and also they did not bring any bread or water to the table.( Italian resturant tradition) they have limited number of food on the menu which mosly pasta and it was not worth the money. If this is what Oakville has to offer, we are very sorry.

Did not like asking for a spicy dish and being told the spice could be added after the dish came to the table except the spice never came. I booked a table in advance as it was our wedding anniversary and I wanted to ensure we would have a nice setting to enjoy our time together. We wanted to try someplace new and the star rating suggested a good experience would be had. I had called to reconfirm the reservation and then Borgo Antico called us to reconfirm the booking the after oon before our reservation to confirm that we were still coming for 6:30 and I confirmed and reminded them it was our anniversary and wanted to ensure we would have searing outside in the front. They confirmed. We arrived on time and they told us they didn't have our table as requested… instead it seemed you had pushed tables together and were holding iut for a larger reservation. There were three different sets of tables pushed outside pushed together combined and being held out for someone else’s reservation? And apparently no spots were available in the back patio that I had been told about either. I pointed out that I had booked days in advance and had specifically asked for a nice environment for our wedding anniversary. With a shrug of the shoulders , we were told we could eat inside… - An unappealing largely empty interior. My wife talked me into accepting the seat inside but once we were seated, we found the music was too loud for us to converse, and the menu was unbelievably limited with overpriced items. All things combined, my wife ended up agreeing we would walk out as everything together would even further worsen the evening and we didn't want to give our money to a place that treated us so poorly. We agreed it would be better to get take out pizza than to stay. By the way, EVERY other restaurant we tried along the strip had to turn us down as they apologized since the seating outside had been booked in advance. The other restaurants clearly respect their customers bookings. Thanks for souring our special night Borgo Antico. You really made the night memorable , tainting our anniversary evening. I had spoken with your restaurant THREE times with YOU called the last time to reconfirm the last time and you ruined our. night. Will specifically recommend against anyone considering your restaurant

My husband and I went last weekend. The service was great (very casual). The food was delicious. We ordered the calamari and shrimp for the appetizer, we liked both, but the tastes conflicted each other (I would love if you could just order the calamari or the shrimp). I enjoyed the Papardelle Funghi. My husband ordered the Vitello Marsala, the veal was cooked properly and the cerely mash was tastey and light. We always order dessert when trying a restaurant for the first time. So we savoured the Tiramisu (yum). The atmosphere was light and casual. I dont recommend sitting by the window because if they have/had the front open there are many annoying flys, but once the sunset they disappeared. We will definitely come back for the food and service, though request to sit a little further back in the restaurant. Oh one last thing, Oakville downtown lakeshore is ripped up (& completely closed to traffic) but Borgo is located just past all the mess, so easy to get to.

This photo speaks for itself. I wish I had the option to rate this "restaurant" stars in the negative. Absolutely horrid experience. We booked a private dinner function more than a month in advance and they still managed to completely drop the ball on this one. Don't be fooled by the pleasant decor. Management gets ZERO - refused to own up to the already horrible food and service. Owners were avoidant and literally hid instead of apologizing or checking up on our party. Blamed our party for not knowing what "italian" food is because of our ethnicity. Food gets ZERO - inedible, burnt, partial portions, not cooked properly, put together in a sloppy, hasty, disheveled manner. Service gets ZERO - wait literally hours for apps and entrees. Even the children at our table were complaining about how starving they were. Hoards of food being brought out for other customers. End of story? We booked this dinner to celebrate a civil ceremony months in advance and the bride didn't even get to eat at the end of this 3 hour ordeal. The best restaurant in Oakville. The food is excellent and the service is perfect. Great wine list with several affordable options by the glass. I have read a few reviews about bad service or not affordable wine and those reviews are simply wrong. The owners and staff are the friendliest staff in Oakville, they treat you like family. The wine list is excellent and affordable for quality wine. The food is the best Italian food in Oakville, quality ingredients and made with love. We go to Borgo Antico at least once a week. It's perfect for a date night or a family meal.

Excellent food, and amazing service. This team goes out of their way to give an authentic Italian experience. Been her a number of times, lunch portions are perfect, dinner portions are more than generous. We were a group of 8 for NYE dinner, and there was only one miss que in the ordering, but they went over the top to rectify it. Steak is massive and awesome, and here's hoping they put that rack of lamb on the regular menu!! Will be back soon.

I'll give Borgo 2 stars because I'm disappointed with them over the last two weeks. My family really enjoys the food over here and we typically order the clam pasta, mushroom pasta, the seabass mains and the calamari starter because these are our favourites. We've been a customer with them for a long time, booking their party room and dining there for lunch and dinner and for the past year and a bit ordering takeout because of the lockdowns. Even with takeout leaving a standard gratuity as a thank you and doing our part to keep the good places around. Over the past two weeks I've tried to order takeout over the phone. First attempt, last week Friday around 6pm: response - "we're busy preparing for a large number of people so no more orders". Ok - that's great. I'll try another day. Today (a Wednesday), tried again, same response. This was at 510pm. What a way to treat those who supported you during the lockdowns...disappointing. But I'll go to either Sotto Sotto, 7Enoteca, or let me try that new place Verace

Was looking forward to coming here tonight for dinner due to the amazing reviews. It was nice to finally get out and sit on the patio. Due to the rainy weather we were expecting, I called ahead of time to confirmed with the restaurant with what would happen as the patio is covered with umbrellas only (coverage enough for a light drizzle). The lady I spoke to mentioned that the the reservation is confirmed and should anything change as a result of the weather they would let me know. We drove 40 minutes to get to the restaurant with a light drizzle. As we arrived, the patio was all packed up and no customers were in sight. We gave the restaurant a call and was told by a gentleman (seemed like the owner/manager) that he sent his staff home due to the conditions. I did not receive a call informing me of this decision. The gentleman was not empathetic with the situation and we were left to figure out another dinner plan at 8pm. Will never return here due to the poor service and communication by the staff.

My dining companion and I ordered the "A Taste Of Oakville 2018" prix fixe dinner menu ($40 per person). Service was friendly. Arancini (rice balls with veal ragu): The rice balls had good crunch but lacked flavor. The tomato sauce was also underseasoned and lacked depth, tasting more like plain bland tomato puree straight from the can than a well crafted meat sauce made with fresh ripe tomatoes. 2/5 Agnello (grilled lamb loin served with green beans & celery mash): The lamb was tender and cooked perfectly (medium to medium rare). Unfortunately, the lack of salt (and seasoning) on the meat and mash made for a disappointingly bland meal. 3/5 Papardelle Funghi (mixed mushroom, truffle, porcini jus): The pasta was not prepared al dente so it lacked firmness. The sauce was mediocre. 3/5 Tiramisu: Probably the highlight of this meal. Not too sweet. Presentation lacked polish. 3.5/5 Flat water ($7...uhh wow) Summary: All dishes tasted flat or lacked depth owing to lack of salt and/or seasoning even though the quality of ingredients was mostly decent. Poor execution sunk this boat.
