Fast and friendly service and attentive staff. The Ramen bowl was quite good as well was the feature soup and turkey club sandwich. Unfortunately there was a giant hair cooked into my daughter's fries which definitely made for a negative dining experience. Staff were apologetic and quickly replaced the fries, however the fries were not comp'd which was a bit surprising.

Burger was worth it, but the beef au jus was oversalted. Soy sauce all throughout the meat and jus. Completely ruined the meat and the jus. The drinks are plebian, so unless you like wine, dont bother. The steaks are then best I've had in halifax, but most of their other food has been on par or disappointing. Just dont get your Hope's up if you're feeling adventurous. Update: the restaurant contacted me and wishes to make it right. Despite a meal gone wrong, I cannot pass up their customer service. Might adjust later if next weeks makeup meal goes well. +1 star for service

Very disappointed in the food we received today. We understand the circumstances during this time but standards should still be held the same when cooking food for customers. I ordered the burger with bacon and my husband ordered blackened chicken sandwich. Burger was burnt to a crisp not edible what so ever and was missing bacon, blackened chicken was over seasoned extremely salty (understand that seasoning is important in blackened chicken.) All in all disappointed today, we were excited to eat Moxies again but it was a let down.

Wonderful experience especially our first time being out since Covid. Every single staff member said hello and was incredibly welcoming without being overbearing, which is a hard balance to find. After being turned away from every bar (understandably they were full) the staff at Moxie's turned a bad night into a good one. Shout out to the general manager's hospitality and the red headed bartender - she was so personable and easy to talk to.

There is MacDonald's feeling at first, but after all it is the nice place. Calamary is tasty and hamburgers variety can satisfy pedantic taste. I found one negative thing there was no coat rack you need to carry your clothes through whole place and sit on it at the end. They have nice interior, management should figure out something. Overall place is 4.5 out of 5. Good place, good food, good service.

My husband and i went here last night for a date night, our first time here and it was the worst experience. we waited 20 mins for our drinks and then another 20 mins for order to even be taken. We ordered the shirmp sirloin & and i had the mushroom sirloin. My husbands steak was very small compared to mine even though they were both suppose to be 7oz. His steak was burnt black! the double baked potatoes are frozen and where dry & cold. My side order of veggies which was 4 green beans that were under cooked and 3 pieces of sweet potatoes where black on the bottoms. the portions are very small and not very good. Not what we were expecting when paying $28 and $34 for these meals. the service was not good at all. the manager brought us our drinks and the cook brought out our food, with the manager bringing us our bill only a half hour after we asked for it. only seeing the waitress once during the whole meal. We wont be coming here again.

I've eaten here more than 10 times. The service is always fantastic and the food is even better. At first you wouldn't think of it as a place for kids but my picky two always finish their kids meals here and the ice cream served on dry ice was a huge hit with my nine year old. I always bring my out of town guest here. My only complaint would be sometimes the pace of the restaurant can be a bit quick when trying to have a fine dining experience.

There for a birthday meal for a family member, ordered my regular selection. Calamari appetizer was stringy and rubbery as hell. Beef vindaloo was excellent, however, the naan bread was thinner than paper. Random male staff member asked how food was, told him calamari was rubbery and he walked away. Sigh. Doubtful our group will return. Our female server was excellent and none of the issues fall on her.

I've been eating at various Moxies establishments across the country for almost 20 years now, and while there have been some minor changes with the menu, they still consistently deliver a good product wherever they are. The food and service I've had at this particular location has always been good. The ambience and decor feels very modern yet warm. The food is what I would call "Canadian fusion" with lots of Asian influences, as well as Italian, Indian etc. Some appetizers I've really enjoyed here are the dumplings/pot stickers (I like the sauce) and the lettuce wraps which are DIY. As for the entrees, their rice bowls are really good, and I've heard great things about the steaks and burgers. If you're health conscious, be sure to check the nutritional information beforehand (it's easy to find online) because some of the "healthy" looking options are secretly loaded with enough calories to feed a family (an example would be the salmon cobb salad which is about as many calories as 3 McDonalds burgers.). I often go with my 7 year old nieces, and love that the servers hand out coloring paper and crayons. Keeps them occupied for a while!

Restaurant was almost empty but when our party of 7 went in to eat, they were rather rude telling us that they were short staffed in the kitchen and the kitchen was over loaded. Lots of tables empty and most tables had already been served. I have never heard of an empty restaurant refusing to make money from guests. Will never try to attempt to eat here again. Day of appointments in Hfx. left us hungry. Picked up a part at Harley and went looking for food. Found Moxies and gave it a shot. Nice looking interior, staff who spotted us and seated us as we grabbed menus. Quick look at the menu, and we liked what we saw. Ordered a drink, craft beer for me, white wine for my partner. She went with blackened shrimp tacos 3 tacos w/4 shrimp each. She loves shrimp anything and really liked these. Real corn taco shell, and good toppings. I had blackened chicken sandwich and fries. Good burger! Tasty, and enough bun to allow you to eat without wearing your burger. Good seasoned fries. I will go back. We saw other good looking dishes. Chimichurri steak salad almost got me. Next time.

Moxie's Grill & Bar is an upscale restaurant in the Bayer's Lake and Dartmouth Crossing in the Halifax area. Nice clean modern decor. There is a restaurant side and a bar side. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu choices. Service was quick and the food was so tasty we knew we would be back sooner than later. Thank you Moxies for being consistent with your meals and the quality of service. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is consistently excellent and since the menu is very stable they seem to have perfected the dishes. The atmosphere is very "chain" - a sort of upscale Jack Astor's. Half sports bar and half dining. Craft beer selection is minimal. It feels like every time we go back, the prices are higher.

Cant cook a steak - I don't usually post on these items, preferring to take my wallet elsewhere but this time I think it is warranted. Moxies is more expensive than it competitors and so you would expect them to be able to cook a steak for a $30 price tag but I am afraid not. Medium-rare came up well over medium, when returned the replacement was barely shown the pan and was below blue, in fact pretty well raw. Unfortunately the management attitude was little better. When the manager came to see me she 'introduced' herself by poking me in the back and saying are you the one who had an issue with the steak... not a good start. While they offered me some fries to eat while they tried to cook a medium rare steak and took 2 deserts off the bill (obviously I was not about to pay for my meal either having rejected it twice telling the manager so on rejecting it a second time) I don't recall once anyone actually apologising. As a party of 7 we had shared starters, one of which was at best warm (not hot) when it arrived and of our meals 3 arrived at least 5 minutes before the other 4. That should not happen at any restaurant and is pretty basic service etiquette. Also, don't accept a table near to the front door either, otherwise beware that you will get a cold blast every 5 minutes or so each time the door is opened. This was a very disappointing experience. However, I have given 2 stars as generally the rest of the party had meals they enjoyed. The server was nice enough but he was let down by his kitchen and management. Shame they could not do better which in terms of the kitchen particularly is pretty fundamental for a restaurant.

The atmosphere was okay. When entering we were not given a choice to sit on the bar side. They placed on at a large booth which was too large for the two of us.The lights dimmed during the meal to the point we had trouble seeing our meal. The table next to us complained about the lighting but the stuff did not change the lighting. The food was disappointing. I had chicken and ribs. The ribs were not done well. The meat was hard to remove from the bone. The chicken was dry and nasty looking. The chicken did have a nice flavour. The whole meal was poorly plated and has no color. My girlfriend asked for a medium steak and made a point that it not be medium-well. The steak was medium-well when it arrived at the table. The server never offered to refill the drinks until we had finished the meal and prepared to leave.

This is the second time I've been here. First time I got a burger plain with cheese and bacon with mayo and fries. Simple. Delish. Fabulous experience, and was recommending to everyone. This time, not so much. Got the same thing. They brought me the wrong burger. Had onions and some kind of ketchup relish mixture. Told waitress and she realized the mistake and took it away to get fixed. Was very nice and polite all throughout the meal. Got it back within five minutes and saw that it was the same burger but with the added toppings just put on the burger and retouched. I ate it becauseI didn't want to be THAT person, but I didn't like that they just put a slice of cold cheese and cooked bacon on it. By the time I got it back, the fries were cold and seemed stale, and the burger was just warm. Told waitress and she apologized. Maybe the cook was just having an off night. Not a good experience. Don't go Mondays at 630pm.

The service, as always, was excellent. Because its a chain I just expect the food to be consistent. At this location, at least, the food is very well done across the board. My husband has a burger just about every where we go and is often disappointed (we are approaching Einstein's definition of insanity) but this one was declared delicious. The rest of us had steak, from rare to medium well. They were perfect. As was dessert. Wine and beer choices were nice. All that and the very comfortable seating saw us linger for 2 1/2 hours. Again, the service was lovely.

My wife and I have been here. At both locations in Halifax and Dartmouth several times. I myself love the food, my wife loves the food and even her parents of the food. I stopped in with my mother Once and it was the first time she'd ever been into a restaurant of this calibre. The food is absolutely amazing. The. Had an amazing experience at this location. I'm allergic to onions. (Which as you can imagine are in everything) The wait staff (Sarah) went above and beyond to make our lunch perfect. I truly can't describe just how impressed I am. The manager (Nic M) came over and made sure every step of food prep was ok for me and later gave us a card for an appetizer to come back. Absolutely recommend this place and will be back!!

The place for best Mojitos on town. The bar tender and the team will guide you through the menu. The menu is diversified and everything is good during the business hours. I went there during the day or for late dining and the food is always fresh and tasty from dried pork to sushi, to Indian recipe. If you hesitate just ask the bar tender.

Just shared some apps before a movie. The guacamole is made at the table with a mortar and pestle used to crush up the avocado. We were asked if we wanted any lime, but couldn't taste any at all. On a recent visit to Halifax, we were lucky to enjoy a multi-generation luncheon at your fine establishment. With ages ranging from 8 to 68, our requests for meals and drinks were varied, to say the least. The service was top-notch ... our server was attentive without hovering. Wine for the ladies, crayons and juice for the children, beer and coffee for the gents ... she was on top of it all. She knew the menu and had suggestions that were very appreciated. Our appetizers and meals came out in a timely fashion and everyone was very happy with our selections ...the food was delicious! Since this was the only meal that we could all attend, we did hang back longer than necessary, but never felt any pressure to vacate which was lovely. I will definitely be visiting your restaurant the next time I'm in Halifax and will recommend it to my friends.

Service was good but something didnt add up when the bill came. We ordered drinks, wings and fish tacos. When we sat down, they had a Happy Hour menu, from 3pm- 6pm. Our bill shows us ordering at 5:26pm but were charged $16 for the fish tacos. When we questioned our waitress, she said it was after 6 when we ordered which I still.cannot understand. She graciously offered to talk to her manager, which resulted in the manager coming to our table giving us an excuse that also made no.sense but took $2.75 off our bill which was more of an insult then anything. We usually eat there ay least once a week and have always had a great experience.

From the moment we walked in the door, the service was excellent. We had the mango chicken and ribs. Highly recommend either one. Finished our meal with espresso and blonde chocolate brownie. Fast, friendly service and wonderful atmosphere ????

My Daughter ordered the Steak salad, lastnight it cost me 30.00. The picture and the description sounded great.. Well she got a box of salad just lettuce, with some feta, no vegetables like it said. With a little dish of steak do tough she couldn't eat it. I would like my 30.00 back. No fork to eat with.

The only reason for the 4 star and not 5 not because of the food, we had a issue with the service, when I spoke to the management, did not get the results we were thinking that a place of this caliper should give, now when in Dartmouth Moxie's no problems, I am referring to the one in Bears lake. Do not like to give negative feedback, but you are looking for special treatment, on your evening out.

Moxie's Grill & Bar are opening up everywhere and it's that's not a bad thing. It's kind of like a higher end Boston Pizza or Montana's. I've had so many different items from the menu and none of them have disappointed; all delicious. They could have a better a better selection of beers considering they advertise themselves as a bar but it's not a terrible selection, it's just ok. Definitely recommend giving it a shot if you haven't.

We are a group of 7 that came to the restaurant at 8:00 pm on Monday, July 8. We were greeted by two young ladies who promptly asked if we had a reservation. I said no, one of them said ‘I will see what we can do’ with a snotty attitude. The restaurant was less than half full, bar/lounge was empty and she came back and said ‘sorry we cannot accommodate you and your party’. I said why? There is lots of room here, the lounge is empty. She just retorted : ‘the kitchen is understaffed and we cannot serve you. ‘ that was it. Horrible snotty hostesses and you lost our business, we are here for 9 days working and will not return.

We use to go to Moxie at least 2-3 times a month in the past several months. Never been disappointed. Great service, great food. Great atmosphere. But, something has changed in the past few weeks. Our steaks were overcooked and very blend, the burgers were overcooked too and very dry. The desserts were awful, we basically left all of them after one single bite, and despite the fact that the dishes were mostly untouched the waitress didn't even ask what was wrong with our food (they always asked if you left something on your plate) . I don't know if they have changed the chef, or the food supplier but definitively we have lost the only place to go in Halifax.

Would of been 5 stars except they have been short on staff 2 of the my last 3 visits and gave us the option of waiting until other were finished...
