It was the best I've had in a long time. The flavours were incredible, the chicken was cooked to perfection, and the portions were enormous. Seems like this place went down hill since the last time I was there! Went on a Wednesday, ordered a chicken club about 12:30 and didn't get meal until 1:10. The chicken club came on a hamburger bun and they were out of bacon so it just had Lettuce and tomato. I also has sweet potato fries and there was so little I could see the plate through them versus the ones with normal fries had mounds if it! Paid 20 bucks for a chicken burger, few fries and cold draft! Beer was great so at least they got that right!

Walked in by chance on a Thursday evening; stand up comedy, and karaoke night. Comedy was amusing, but things really livened up when the karaoke got going. Some good singers, and same great entertainment, including the Eurithmics, Taylor Swift, some classic crooners, soul, bit of punk rock, and of course the usual mix of pop/rock. Great atmosphere, and super nice staff. They even ran after me to return my hat and phone when I had left them behind on the bar. Thank you Bearlys, for a great night.

I went here during the $5 Burger week in March 2013. Upon arrival our waitress, at the end of her shift, proceeded to insult me and the group of people I was with. Unfortunately, the way she was slurring her words and acting oddly we all suspected she had been drinking. We proceeded to order water, at which point she insulted us again. Upon placing our food order our waitresses shift had ended and she had left without placing our order. For a table of five, not placing the order means a significant wait for us once they realized their mistake. More specifically, this meant a 2 hour wait for us without the place even being close to full. In summation, none of us would recommend this place to anyone, and we all got our meal for $5 (regular price is $13).

If you like blues, go to this bar. I love blues, and when I went to Bearly’s, I heard some of the best live blues Ive ever experienced. The band was absolutely on point, they were cooking during the whole set while I was there. As for the establishment itself, it doesnt feel outdated - it just has a nice patina. One area for potential improvement is to get more bar stools.. replace the couple big clunky ones with four or five smaller ones to increase individual customer capacity

Great service, great live band playing some honky-tonk blues. Ordered the mixed platter, which was a selection of 2x barbecue skewers, 2x chicken wings, 3x ribs, calamari, and fries. The restaurant itself was clean enough, but I found it a bit dingy. Regardless, I enjoyed myself, and I recommend giving this place a try! I hope I get an opportunity to sample their Filipino breakfast someday.

I've only been here once, pretty good as far as a pub. Not my usual type of place I like to eat. We went for the filipino food, and were not disappointed. It was pretty good and would go back. The music was not my kind of music and we couldn't really talk over it. I'd prefer somewhere more quiet, but if you like loud live music while you eat, this is a place your going to love! Recommend the pancit bihon. Was pretty delicious.

Halifax' old time blues joint. Great service, reasonably priced drinks for a venue, and a guarantee of live entertainment and a good time any weekend. There's a couple pool tables and the place has a great atmosphere. Theres even the original rooming house above it. The kitchen has changed a few times but now it seems to focus on hearty traditional pub fare. An old regular told me that everyone in Halifax passes through bearlys at some point.

I've been here a handful of times. Honestly I always really enjoyed it, and the bouncer was always a warm welcome (I even talked to my friends about this guy). A couple nights ago completely changed my mind. Myself, my friends and my girlfriend were enjoying the night for several hours. Afterwards, my girlfriend and her friend were outside when apparently the "liquor inspector wouldn't allow them back in". Not only this but the bouncer who I truly respected before this wouldn't even allow us to finish our beers before leaving and made us pay for them and even said we were not welcome back. We were nowhere near this alleged inspector or the girls but were asked to leave anyways? I asked why and he said it was the way we were treating their staff and that I even had my mask down at the time. We were completely respectful of the staff the entire night (the one or two times we even spoke to them) and my mask was down because I was trying to drink my beer. I swear we were the opposite of a rowdy party and this caught me completely off guard. I had even chatted to this bouncer about how fair and kind he was literally a half hour before this; he shook my hand. As much as I enjoyed this place in the past, I do not recommend it. Be prepared to be kicked out due to no fault of your own and watch out for the fake demeanour of the bouncer. Terrible.

Usually I love this bar but recently the bouncer has ruined the experience. Tonight I visited Bearlys paid the cover and enjoyed the music. Multiple times we we rearranged because of covid limitations. This was fine until we went to leave. A friend had covered my tap I attempted to leave. The bouncer stopped me as if I was trying to steal.. when I went to pay the server told me my bill had already been paid. At this point the bouncer felt the need to insult my height( I am short). This is an establishment I typically enjoy but this bouncer will keep me away.

Cool chill place. Food was ok...a bit pricy. The beer was at a reasonable price. Our waitress, Sarah, was excellent, nice, honest, quick, on top of everything. 5 stars to her! My friend and I stayed there for almost 4 hours and never waited a second to get another drink.

Wanted to love this place, but the bartender with the short purple hair was so discriminatory I can’t give any more than 1 star. I came in with a group after a soccer match, and spoke with the regulars to ensure they weren’t unhappy and we weren’t putting them out. Despite this, this woman decided she wouldn’t serve me because I was part of a group of soccer fans. I was polite, respectful and kind, and I was treated like trash. I would have loved to see the jazz band that was scheduled to come on as I spent four years playing jazz saxophone, but, guess I’ll have to see them somewhere else.

Here twice. To start our trip in Nova Scotia and to finish it two weeks later. Great blues, interesting clientele, super waitress who remembered us from our visit two weeks ago. Food was good and appropriately priced. Brisket was delicious as was the corn bread. If you like blues this place is worth a visit.

A Halifax landmark for live local music. Fairly dark, tavern-type environment with old wooden armchairs and round tables. Very casual environment with eclectic mix of patrons. Unpretentious fun little bar/music venue, great for 40+ crowd who still want to go out and have a good time - all age ranges and dancing-aptitude levels are made to feel comfortable here.
