Visited on a ! Tuesday night ! and the place started rocking well after midnight with a live band. Great sets mixed with some great DJ'ed music. Good sound system where you can actually talk by the bars and front entry. Wide range of characters and ages and of course some questionable characters. All good and friendly. Will be back on my next mid-week adventure.

I would love to give this a higher star rating. If it was up to only the staff, security, and music it would be a 5. Just too many incidents of sexual misbehaviour were witnessed by myself over a short period of time. I personally broke up a fight. Anyhow, be responsible in your drinking and behavior, especially towards women. Overall, I love the place and I'll deffo be back, perhaps on a less busy night, so I can focus on the music.

If you're into Rock music and wonder where you might some like-minded peeps, then this is the club for you. Roxy has 3 in-house bands and I have only witnessed one, and boy were they a riot! They mostly played Alternate rock, with a little bit of blues flavor that reflected in the guitar solos. Apart from music, the ambience and space is pretty good. There's a dance floor in front of the stage and you can dance your heart out while the band is belting out your fav tunes. As far as the bar goes, I stuck to the LIIT that cost about $8. That's more or less the best price you can get for alcohol in downtown I guess. So I was very happy with the poison, but being an audiophile and guitarist myself, this place felt like home to me. If you're anything like me, don't miss out. If you're not, it's worth atleast one visit, and you might find something you like for sure. I'm taking away that 5th star because I need to pay a few more visits to fully form my opinion of the place. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Cheers! ????

I've been to the Roxy a few times and well, to be honest it's not always that good! But the last time I visited there, it was amazing! The band was already great but now they added a new lead lady singer which is really good and brought some new fun songs and the music just got a lot better. The drinks are also reasonably priced and the bartenders are fun and friendly. There are also many booths available for seating if you arrive early and you can sit and hangout with your friends.

Came here for my first time to attend my girlfriend's stagette on a Saturday and it was amazing. They gave the ladies cover and a few more from our group. Great female to male ratio. Bartender's were very friendly and thankful for their tips as well. I aim to tip in cash even if I pay the drinks in credit card.

Upgrade the DJ to something modern get with the times. They often play some weird music during breaks and it's boring. Overall along with the Republic night club it's one of the most famous night spot in Down Town Vancouver.

I lost my ticket to my jacket and I got it in Norway with my brother, and so I was really worried about not getting it back as well as it was below 0 so and we had a long walk, I wasn't being being rude or mean I was just upset and the woman at the coat check grabbed my arm and told me I wasn't getting my jacket, my gf that was with me had to ask her to let go and leave me alone. She had absolutely no right in touching me I didn't touch her I wasn't being mean I was upset. Touching someone like that is assult she's lucky I didn't call the cops or worse she lucky I was a nice drunk person and didn't smach her face into the ground for laying a hand on me. I understand people get drunk ur working in a bar but u never ever touch some one else unless they are hurting u or someone else. I will never return to that place again. You can't treat people like that and not expect someone to not flip out.

Roxy Sunday’s are super fun! Probably the only night I’ll go because other nights are more of an older crowd and I’ve experienced many creepy men talking to me there... Roxy Sunday has a younger crowd, great deals on drinks and great music! Always a good time! The bar has a cool layout, with lots of places to sit! Being in downtown Vancouver, it's easy to get to and there is some great restaurants to go to before going to the Roxy. In all, you will have a great time.

The Roxy is a place where everyone goes, either for a last call (its open an hour later than most places), a celebration, or just to dance to the live band. Tourists, corporate types in suits, people after an event or conference, the occasional actor or athlete, college kids, people in there 30's 40's +. No one cares who you are. It's completely social. The live band is extremely talented and is always spot on and there's lots of room to dance. Or there's a pool table in the back room if that's more your thing. Is it a bit gross with its carpet? Yes. Ignore that. It is by far the best place to go in Vancouver for a fun unpretentious time. Some people roll their eyes at the Roxy, but I've always had a great time there and usually always meet really interesting people. And I say that as someone who goes to a wide range of places from white tie events to dive bars. Vancouver's liquor licences prevent lounges or restaurants from being able to create a social environment. The Roxy is one of the only truly social places to go out to in Vancouver.

I'm so pleasantly surprised by The Roxy. I'd heard of this place before, but never ventured in. A group of us went in for the first time on a Thursday night, and had such a blast. The live band was amazing, playing songs that you just can't help but sing and dance along to. People were so friendly (none of the douchebaggery that's common on Graville Street), and it felt like we were partying with a bunch of new friends. Bartenders were friendly and quick to serve you. I'm already looking forward to returning to The Roxy and bringing other friends!

Perhaps it's that I always visit on Sunday nights (and hate country music) that this venue has never really done it for me. Lines are shockingly long and once you're in, the layout of the first bar right at the front door leaves you feeling claustrophobic immediately. Drink deals are pretty good as you can get a shot of tequila and a corona for ten bucks - if only you didn't have to fight for a spot to be seen at the bar. Part of the "charm" or this venue is that women can often get free drinks for flashing the bartender as long as they are willing to get a lovely "Roxy" tattoo on their upper chest somewhere. The whole procedure of dumping alcohol directly into girl's mouths while they sit on the bartop slows down service and is bordering on creepy. I'll update my review if another night of the week proves to be less crowded/more enjoyable as a whole.

Although the carpeting is a little torn up and probably should be replaced with something other than carpet because it’s a little gross. Highly recommended! Go early and leave just before closing time if you need a taxi. That may change when ride sharing is legal Almost useless to try holding a conversation anywhere near the stage or dance foot.

My favorite smaller live-music venue on Granville. Everything is on one level, 2 bars, washrooms. Circulating in the room is easy. There is ample space whether you want to dance, sit or stand. The stage is lowish and it usually feels like you're at a party with 300 friends. Bonus after earlier rock sets, live music continues with cover and house bands. Staff is exceptional. I enjoy The Roxy; it's worth the drive to Vancouver.

So, on a Friday night we got set-up on our booking at another place. We entered Roxy's and asked for a table for an unusually big group. Avalon and crew welcomed us with hospitality and provided first class customer experience for all of us. Drinks and food were spot on and we all felt taken care of. I cannot describe how good the service was. Not pushing, but always there for a refill. We got a timely service till the end of the night and a pleasant chit-chat with the crew. We all felt welcomed and taken care of rather then being a challenge to solve. This is how good customer experience should look like. We all appreciate the hard work of Avalon and the crew at tending to our needs. Thank you!

Great place - to come and enjoy live Djs and Music - Good Luck after 10 to find a place on the Dance floor - people are pushy. and they overcrowd the place to make money - Bands are awesome - but the young crowd don't dance to their music - the Djs play great music and thats when its to crowded at the dance floor. the place is a mess after 12 and the tables are never cleaned on time because they are overcrowded - please make a limit so people can actually have fun- nice pool table at the back but it becomes a table to lean on when crowded.

Last night my band played a show at the Roxy cabaret.. it was by far the best show we have played as a band and I largely attribute it to this venue. My first impression was of Tom the sound guy. Professional, personable, friendly and clearly just happy to be there. The rest of the staff gave me the same vibe. As far as setup, the stage is great as was the sound. Everyone said the levels were perfect. All of this led to us playing better, feeling more comfortable up there and having a ton of fun. To top it off they even gave us a full recording of our set. We can't wait to play there again soon!

Took a bottle opener jokingly and gave it back to the bar tender within a 4 second time span. I was asked to leave but didn't comply because I didn't think it was necessary being sober and designated driver of the night. So sure enough she put on this show grabbed the bouncers, there was one blonde young one who kept calling me stupid and an idiot asking me to leave but I didn't comply as I didn't do anything wrong in any sense. Then the police come in and take this bouncers word as I wasn't being aggressive or lippy being sober. Get thrown to the ground kicked in the head multiple times handcuffed carried out banged squished head in the door and thrown in a cell for the night. Thanks guys, good job out there.

While this place seems to be famous for the atmosphere, the music isn't all that great for night life. With so much room to dance the selection they have makes dancing less enjoyable. Rock is Saturday night and Sunday is country night. Friday had some hip hop but nothing amazing. Everyone working there was nice other than the lady up front accepting the cover charge. She threw my money back at me with discust when I accidentally attempted paying with a $20 with a small rip in it. Other than that. Great place.

Last night at the doors of the Roxy, the bouncer told me to “have fun sweetheart” to which I said “don’t call me sweetheart”. Upon this statement the employee grabbed me by my waist and chest without warning and started pushing and dragging me away from the entrance. It’s shocking that this establishment hires people who react physically to a woman standing up for her dignity. I didn’t see this person calling the men who entered sweetheart. When my partner reacted and shouted in response to me being assaulted he was grabbed by his hair and also dragged. The Roxy has been my favourite spot on Granville. A safe fun place to spend the night. Never again. Shame on this establishment and their enabling of assault and misogyny. As much as I fell in love with the place I will never come again. Forget the smell. Which is one of mold and rotten egg. I could get over that if the place had some charm. What killed it for me is how terrible the staff treat their customers. There was group of us ther early....the place was dead (it gets busier later). One of the guys with us came back to our table saying he couldn't get a drink, he had to wait. Keep in mind, no one else is at the bar we are requesting drinks from. I work in the industry so I said chill out maybe she is waiting on booze or hasn't opened. Let me go see if I can get some water. I go up to her and ask if I could get a glass of water. This rude, half shell of a service industry worker snaps at me "no! Im busy". For the record she was stacking cups at a snails pace with no concern for the 15 people waiting. I said ok, so I cant get a water? "No im busy!". Keep in mind this was a private area, we were the only patrons, and she obviously could care less.

Friday night was my first time going to the roxy. I've heard great things so was excited to finally go out and give it a shot. Sadly, I was disappointed at the point of coat check. The bouncer for the guest list had great personality but still had that tough persona which is expected. This was a start to what I had hoped was a great experience. We finally get in and could not locate clay check. It was about 10:15 and the gate was closed. So we asked the bartender when they open and with lack of any interest just said whenever the girl wants to open it. Finally after a little bit there seems to be a lady opening it. So walk up to counter and let her o what she needs to do to get ready. She never acknowledged us or anything... then just left the coat check area for a bit without saying anything.. will you be coming back? Are you open? At this point there was a line behind us equally confused and annoyed. Finally she was able to help us but had THE worst attitude. We were such an inconvenience to her and we were confused on the process as their is a slip you are meant to sign or something.. Anyways the live band was great

The roxy is and has been a fixture in the downtown Granville area for over 35 years and the place really hasn’t changed much.i always had a great time here the people are very friendly and the drinks are well made and not watered down the music is good depending on the days.its really the best bar in the area..

Worst experience ever. I went for a cigarette, already stamped, and they refused to let me back in to place at all. They wouldn't sort me to get my jacket and i was in a tshirt. I watched people tripping over the rope to get in because they were so intoxicated. I offered them to hang on to my entire wallet, I asked if one of them could just escort me to grab my jacket or friend, I was very clear I would leave and had no desire to be there. I called the very next day, and they seem to have "lost" my jacket.

Longest wait for the biggest disappointment. Was there years ago and loved it. This time people were jumping the line and paying the one eastern bouncer to get ahead of everyone else. I would recommend a different club. Total disappointment. Ten years ago I had a blast there. Bought the entire bar jager bombs with a bunch of the Canucks there. This time a total joke. Waited over two hours in line. It is not what it used to be...

Everything tasted like it was old and not fresh in any way. The fries were spongy, and I’ve never experienced fries being spongy; typically they crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The fish and chips my wife ate were mush in the mouth and not flakey fish by any means, over cooked in the deep fryer. My tomato slices in my burger were soft and definitely not fresh by any means. The best part was the ice tea. Even my daughters sprite had to be sent back because it tasted like tonic water. The service was good though.

Decent live music and atmosphere. Uts downtown Vancouver on Granville so don't expect cheap drinks. Great laser light show and sound with a big dance floor. Expect to pay cover unless you're beautiful ; )
