I have to say my friend , Sharif Pardi, did a good job, although he is not the owner. I come from Coquitlam, despite we have a lot of Pubs everywhere. I specially love the Prime Rib dinner, the pizza, and the wings, of course. Price, service, seatings are all excellent. Parking on the streets are not bad specially after 6 pm. I highly recommend this Pub .

Great service and food, only drawback might be that it doesn't have a ton of seating and on busy nights you could be waiting for a bit but that's not always a bad sign. The liquor store is impressive and has many items not seen in other stores, their selection keeps growing all the time.

The atmosphere here is wonderful! Traditional European pub décor, very large and clean, and is packed full of locals. Not too roudy, senior friendly, and a great place to watch sporting events on the many big screens. On Friday and Saturday, between 4 and 8, they have a prime rib special with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and Yorkshire puddings! Yum! There is a solarium on the back, pumping out heat like it's free, so on a cold day this is the place to be! The food was great! The beef dip was the clear winner out of all the dishes! If you like beef dips, get this one! :)

The food is great here. Service has been declining and prices have been climbing. We started coming here in 2007 and wings were $5 for years, but they jumped to $6, a 20% increase, and not long ago to $7. The escalating prices, along with the declining service tells me that this is no longer the great value it once was. I never see male servers on the floor except for behind the bar and the odd manager helping with serving food on occasion. We used to be at least weekly patrons of the place but now might go once every few months just to see if things have improved.

Loved the decor and space but my God the food was horrific. Tuna tacos: was expecting a nice piece of tuna and a slaw of some kind, maybe with a Pico or something. What I got was shredded Romain lettuce, a slice of tuna (large which was good) and halved cherry tomatoes... For one, halved cherry tomatoes are a serious choking hazad so big problem there. The lettuce was seasoned with what I think was tomato juice? Brussel Sprouts: oh God they made me hate my favorite vegetable.. This could only be described as an acidic bomb, my faced contorted more than a circus performer, it was like eating a bag of cooked lemon peels, bitter and acidic, and the Brussels were soggy from sopping it all up. Calamari: THE only saving grace of the night, could have used more seasoning but meh it was fine. Our server was very kind though and on the ball, really appreciated her hard work Maybe it's a good place to drink and hangout but I can't say I'd be back.

I liked this place alot, went on a Wednesday and it was bustling and vibrant. The atmosphere is great, the servers are friendly, and the fireplaces inside were a huge plus for me. We ordered the Rocket salad, the French Onion soup, the Grilled Lamb, and a Spinach puff pastry as an appy. The salad had nothing really, no dressing, even in the menue they said it comes with parmesan cheese and it came without. The soup was great and the spinach pie. However, the lamb didn't taste good. The overall experience was great, and Im definitely going back.

This place has a great layed back atmosphere, seems to be unchanged in years(good thing) and there food is amazing. Might I recommend the bacon wrapped scallops or the wings. Planning on checking out more of the menu as time goes on but right now its delicious. Can get busy and be a bit of a wait for drinks. But if you got the time they have the place.

This place is resorting to posting its own anonymous self serving reviews. New Westminster locals have been watching the painfull death sprial of this pub for months. Ownership is intent on alienating regular customers and loyal staff alike. Many are taking their business elsewhere where customers are truly appreciated and the atmosphere is positive.

My favourite place to go with friends in the neighborhood of New Westminster. Though it is always busy, for good reason. The food is great, and the service is better. It can get a tad too loud to talk easily, but there isn't anything the store could really do to reduce that further. Always clean and fun to go.

My friend and I decided we wanted to try something new and New West was a fairly simple area for us to get to. I did my research on nearby pubs and decided on River's Reach based on prices, promotions and reviews. I really liked the atmosphere and the servers are quite friendly. The appie's are decent although I was disappointed with the calamari. My roommate's lamb shank was amazing. I had the stack burger with sweet potatoe fries. They fries were excellent and I was feeling some hesitation towards the burger but I took it home. I had it cold about 5 hours later and it was delicious. It was overall a great afternoon out.

Super popular local hot spot, and for good reason. Tasty eats at a great price! Good selection of local brews. A near-weekly happy hour go-to for us. Often gets pretty crowded, but fast service makes for fast turnover. Never had to wait more than 15 minutes to get a table.

Pizza deal on Saturdays! This pizza is damn good too. Service is usually great but this is a busy sports bar so if events are going on, expect the staff to be very busy. So sit back and order another drink- it's all good. I've had several things on menu but personally I love the pizzas so much.

My favorite place in New Westminster. Staff is awesome, and almost all customers are locals (which is a good sign). People usually have a beer after work before going home or just stay to watch games (mostly hockey, baseball and basketball). I recommend Tuesdays and Thursdays which are nachos and chicken wings. Also, I usually share a poutine and a edamame with my wife. Most people drink (Molson) Canadians, but they have some good craft beers on tap. A "pint" (20 oz. ~ 600ml) is usually between 6 - 8 dollars.

The food here is amazing! We have come here several times and the food never disappoints. The service could use a bit of improvement in their pace. Even for drink orders, they take a while to come to the table. They have a fantastic heated and covered patio, great for brunch/lunch. Parking is on the street and not abundant.

A great pub and grill, but don't get the suicide sauce on the wings. Even the staff said it was weird, but if you're curious ask for a taste first. Beside the weird sauce, majority of food we had was great and they have a good beer selection.

First time at this place for early lunch. Great menu for a pub & very reasonably priced. We had the lamb & have to say it was to die for. Not many restaurants I have found that can cook lamb in Canada!! The lamb just fell off the bone, so tender & moist. Staff extremely friendly & very efficient. If I'm in that area again will definitely eat here. Highly recommended.

Awesome! Love the appy hour ???? Bacon wrapped scallops, lettuce wraps, steak bites, garlic ribs, edamame, etc...Plus their service is really good. Nice cozy atmosphere with old timey decor, vintage books and radios ????. I use a wheelchair part time but manage the entrance stairs for now but there is wheelchair entrance through the liquor store attached. Oh yeah they do delicious prime rib on the weekend. It's always our go- to place when we're here ????

So my husband, my in-law's and myself went here a few weeks ago for lunch and we found it to be subpar. The atmosphere is that of a typical pub but the patio there was quite nice. We found the service was slow and uncoordinated and the food was bland and was missing ingredients. The worst part of the service was when my husband's drink was mixed improperly and sent back (after pointing out on the menu what was missing/done wrong) and they brought back the same incorrect drink. He wasn't told they were missing an essential ingredient until after he reordered the first one. That's extremely poor communication and service skills. The worst part of the food was my mother-in-law's burger sliders with horseradish. They were dry and lacked any horseradish. She had to order horseradish to go with the burger that was supposed to come with it. Whether they charged her or not, I'm not sure but I certainly hope not. At this point I'd be willing to give this pub another chance. It is no where near as bad as Kelly O's so that's good enough for me. Personally my food was decent, I had a beer so I can't complain. I'll be going back again this summer and I'll update my review then.

We were at Rivers Reach about a month ago. It was fairly packed and many people were in the waiting area. We decided to wait and glad we did. We got a table after an only about 10 minutes. We had the best Calamari in the area and our mains were very yummy too. This was our first time there, sure glad to have gone in.

From the welcoming and classy yet low key interior design to the bustling atmosphere, this is a place I always feel good about visiting. Although there are often wait times for seating, the pay off is well worth it on top of that being an indicator of a higher quality place. Some of the staff are more approachable than others and will have you looking forward to their stops at your table but they all get the job done efficiently. The dishes served seem well thought out and keep me pining over the menu every time. Then there’s the half price appys during happy hour... I will sometimes make the effort to be there during that magical block of time just to fill up on my favourite indulgences and often end up ordering enough for leftovers just to get a taste of them all. Keep it up! UPDATE: Had to bring it down a star because of our last visit after the first short double double hadn’t a hint of alcohol and the replacement was brought by a server who first spilled it on my phone then continued to as she talked about how it was spilling on the device ?? No clean up was offered

It was a busy night, and I think the food runners were struggling to keep up. Lots of 1/2 price Saturday special pizza going out and it looked good. Maybe a better choice. I'll try that next time. Prices are reasonable.

Have been coming to Rivers for a few years since I moved to New Westminster. I have seen staff and management come and go. I have to say that the last set of changes have not been for the best. This is the second time we have been in during the past month. Both times I needed to request the table be cleaned... this last time I received a snarky answer, I've been too busy to wipe the tables. When she did return to wipe the table it was rocking so she spun it so it wouldn't rock and rammed the table leg into my sprained ankle... $&*# that hurt!!! I come here for the tuna taco's... well let's just say perhaps I will wait for the next staff/management change. Would have been a 4 star review but Tanya... your never that busy when your a part of a team!

Best looking servers in New West! This pub is always busy so they must be doing something right. Contrary to one of the reviews it is no where near the ocean that person must have been really drunk. The food is amazing. They make excellent food all around and I have never been disappointed with anything I have eaten there. The beer selection is also great. However, the last two times we have gone (we go once every two weeks, at least) the service was not just sub par but terrible! Both times the waitress never checked on us, filled our drinks or took away empty glasses. We had to flag down waitresses. I have a dairy allergy and a wrap I ordered looked as though it had dairy. After waiting 20 minutes after getting my food I asked a waitress to check in about it. She never returned so I asked yet another waitress. I have never had such terrible service in my life at a restaurant. We went yesterday (April 17th 2016) and waited nearly 45 minutes to get our food and our waters were never filled once, nor did someone come by and ask how everything was. This seriously makes me consider never returning again.

Customers are corralled into non-reserved sections (lol) and ‘last call’ is two hours before posted operating hours. Zero regard for anything other than cash. This River's Reach Pub laid off all of there unionized workers. Then they chose to keep there business closed for two years to bypass the union contract and hire non-union workers. We ordered 3 starters to share between 3 people. Nachos were delicious and packed with toppings and the right amount of cheese. The stake bits were perfect. Nice and juicy and not over or under done. And the cheesey bites were good too, packed full of flavor. Resonably priced menu. It was definitely a good place to eat and have a food drink to go with it. I would definitely recommend trying this place out! They can get very busy though, but definitely worth the wait.

Used to be great. Just a couple of years ago this place used to be great. I used to rave about it and now I'm ashamed to bring my friends here. They've gone from local bar to acting like a chain. Their staff turnover is ridiculous. They understaffed the place to the point where you can't get consistent drinks. Previously, you could order a drink from any server and they would say yeah I'll have that for you in a min and let your server know. Now the servers act like you're in a chain bar where only your waitress can take your order.

I asked if there were any specials, heavily pregnant waitress told me yes half price appts until 8 pm. I said wow all of them, she said yes. We ordered 3 appts each. When the bill came, the wings were full price, when we asked her about it, she said they’re only $7 a pound, we said that’s not the point. You should have told us”everything except the wings”. We won’t be bsck. That’s for sure.

One of the better pubs in new west as far as food goes. They seem to make most things in house. Best happy hour (3-6) as far as food goes anywhere around there. Most the food is good. Really good pizza. Prime rib, i wouldn't waste your time. Same with lasagna, it's like soup. But over all it's good food. Terminal pub I would say is better food though.

I haven't been to this pub too many times, maybe five or six, as my daughter works a few blocks away. I have to say this though, since our last visit there, we noticed a lot of positive changes in the place. I've always steered away from pubs generally, as the environment tends not to be very supportive of women. Yes, lots of women work in them, but too often they're not offered the respect they deserve and are more on display than anything. Anyway, this place is breaking the mould. On our last visit, my daughter and I were sitting next to a table of four men and one woman. There was some too-typical banter going on and the server seemed uncomfortable. Well, the typical banter quickly progressed to full bullying at the minute the table sensed that they were worrying the sweet server. It began to make my daughter and I very uncomfortable. These people clearly feed off of being unkind to people and were classless jerks. Just when I thought I might have to get the attention of someone to help the server manage the situation, the manager approached the table. She was a very professional woman, who was very respectful and very clear about the expectations of customers at the Rivers Reach. She told them she would never tolerate the servers treating the customers like anything but friends, always being respectful and kind, nor would she ever tolerate any different conduct from the patrons. She offered the table an opportunity to see the error of their actions and when they stood their ground (rudely, too), she had their bill in her hand within seconds and politely asked them to leave the pub. This manager handled it so well, it was incredibly empowering. As a single woman in her early fifties, I'll be back much more often now. Now I know that I'm supporting a positive, empowering, respectful environment built on mutual support, so I'm excited to return. The customer service industry desperately needs more advocates for their staff like this manager, she was fantastic! Whoever the people were that were asked to leave, they should be ashamed of themselves and know that the patrons around them shared a laugh at how foolish they looked as they skulked out of the pub.

Service acceptable. Food not so much. I had the toughest prime rib ever and to prove it I gave a piece to my friend and he agreed. I tried a piece of my friends chicken souvlaki and it was like sawdust. Not impressed but the dessert was good at least.

The reach is a pleasant comfortable pub. The staff are courteous and friendly and work their butts off. The food is typical pub fare, don't go here if you are looking for a fancy dinner. The prices are fair and the beer is cold. The clientele is generally 50 something white people and the atmosphere is usually very jovial.

Very hard to rate this place because it is so hit or miss with service. Food and prices/specials are spot on but the service can totally ruin the experience. You never know what you are going to get, sometimes the server is great and other times it's slow and they take up to 30 minutes just to take your order. I've waited my entire meal until I got fed up and just left for someone to come see if I needed another beer. Not very good considering it's a bar. If it was rating the food alone this place would get 5/5

Food was good, well priced, loud unless you're in the heated deck area. Staff was very nice but inattentive. I think we had three servers, but they didn't seem to know when we last had service. We went 20min without seeing anyone. Both our food was luke warm, but it was super busy.

Excellent food & drink choices. The staff are all beyond great & go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. Lots of TV's if you want to watch a game. Outdoor patio w/ heaters. Just a great place to go for a quick meal or to stay a while.

I wish I could marry the service of the Terminal Pub with the food at River's Reach because that would create the perfect pub. The food at River's Reach is really good. I haven't had a bad meal there and the prices are decent. My problem is with the service. Every time I've gone, the servers just seem completely uninterested. The very first time we went in, we got completely ignored. We found our own table, sat down and not a single server came by. They walked right past us several times, avoiding eye contact. Eventually, my husband got up and hunted down some menus. When we finally flagged down a server, the look on her face was like, "Ok...I don't know what you want but I'll come over.." almost like we were causing some sort of inconvenience by wanting to order some food. We even asked if the kitchen was closed or something and maybe we didn't know. We took it as a one-off and went back again, but didn't have much of a better experience. The server then was just really aloof and we had to flag her down several times. I'm really not sure what's with the attitude in this place, but it's disappointing. I'm not expecting over-the-top effervescence, but a little warmth and friendliness couldn't hurt, and not making people feel like an inconvenience would be great. If it wasn't for the fact that the food is MUCH better than the other pubs in the neighbourhood I'd give up on River's Reach.
