This Night Club corresponds to the category of Italian restaurant.
Celebrated a family members birthday here tonight. We had great service and excellent food. The lighting in Piva really sets a nice, elegant atmosphere. I really enjoyed the arrangement of appetizers we tried. The boar meatballs being my favourite. For my main, I had the tenderloin. It was cooked exactly how I asked; medium rare. My partner ordered the lamb and I tried a bite. It was also really well done and I dont typically enjoy lamb. For dessert I had the tiramisu and my partner the sorbet. I really enjoyed the tiramisu, the mascarpone was delicious. Not a huge fan on the plating style (in a mason jar) but that wouldn't stop me from ordering it again. My partner loves everything sour so the citrus sorbet was right up his alley. Too sour for me! I tried a bite of my mother in laws dessert. The nonna. That was delightful! I want to order it for myself next time. All around we had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back.
Went there with coworkers for our annual Christmas lunch, food was great, everything was great!
My family and I decided to venture out for brunch during COVID-times. We had read reviews of Piva going the extra mile in ensuring their customers felt safe and comfortable dining out. The safety measures in place completely exceeded our expectations. The food was also excellent, but the service was outstanding. We experienced a bit of a family emergency as our food was brought over. I had to leave, but my parents told me our wonderful server, Olivia, and the owner/manager were so incredibly concerned about our well-being that they came over and kept checking in. We were so impressed with our first experience at Piva and will most certainly be back for dinner very soon. Thank you so much!
Absolutely fantastic food, I had the wild boar meatballs to start which come in a lovely sauce and in sets of 3, then the duck. The duck was lovely, the sauce they cook it in is surprisingly savoury considering its frangelico based. Then finished it off with gelato, this is much larger and tastier than gelato I'm used to. Would highly recommend, though fair warning it's quite pricey.
Me and my Italian man went yesterday for dinner and it was our first time there. We will definitely come back! Here are the things we liked: - Staff was super attentive (but also forgot a few things we had to remind of like bread and ice) - food was delish! The prawn and scallop linguine had lots of protein in it! If I eat the same dish again I will ask for my linguine to be a little more al-dente but that’s just me. My spouse assured me it was not over cooked in any way. We also had the wild boar meatballs with added Spaghetti and Wow it was so juicy and amazing and different with really expensive ingredients like the morral-mushrooms yet only $20 for the dish. - everything is presented well, I like their napkins being nice cotton fabric and they’ve spent loads of money on building the facilities and those heaters outside. Here is what I would suggest for improvements to the owner: - Hire an acoustics engineer to figure out how to dampen noise. I know you problably wanted a very trendy, sterile, marble and industrial look, but it damages the experience for staff and guests because it’s extremely noisy and everyone have to raise their voices etc. I was just across from my spouse and we could not hear each other at all. You end up leaning forward and whatever you do to try to hear each-other gets uncomfortable as you stiffen your neck/shoulder in order to lean forward. There is nothing I hate more in a restaurant than bad acoustics. Get some fabric hanging and other noise dampening options to fix this problem. We had to ask to move outside because of this and it was much better. - I have a trick to figure out if a restaurant takes their wine seriously or not. I order the cheapest wine/per glass on the menu and if it’s drinkable and still somewhat enjoyable, that means they know what they’re doing. So I ordered the red $9/glass wine which comes from Northern Italy. The others were $12 and up. Having been in the wine industry I can tell you there are cheap and drinkable wines out there but this one is not one of them! It tasted like watered out sweet vinegar and was, in my opinion, undrinkable. A good restaurant will take pride in not serving wines like these. Just take it off the menue completely! You should much rather force a customer to spend the $12 and up for a drinkable wine, than have them spend $9 for something not even drinkable. Had it not been for everything else that was very good with our experience, this would have taken a star off for sure. Thank you we will be back!
We went with a group of friends, The food and environment was great , but not our waiter, we felt so rushed to the point my friend told him do you want us leave ? He kept coming to the table 20 times which made us so uncomfortable, overall everything else was wonderful
I went in for Happy Hour yesterday. The food was delicious, I had the Brussels sprouts and meatballs. But the real highlight of my experience was Tony, my server. I love red wine, and when I asked him for his recommendation, and told him what I liked, he suggested a great one. I love the history of wine and learning about it, and Tony was a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoyed my time and again, the food was amazing, but I definitely will go back to see Tony again and chat more about wine. I appreciated him taking the time to teach me about a new grape, and give me some information that grew my appreciation for the craft of wine making. Cheers, Tony
Food was good. Service is 3 star-ish. When we visited at the time, the payment machine was down. The unacceptable part is that the manager wants to write down our credit card details in order to process the payment at later time.
Great atmosphere, good food and wine, food is a touch pricy for the portion size but I would return. They have a vegetarian menu upon request.
Very nice interior and some pretty good pasta dishes. Drinks were not bad and the service was a bit standoffish. However otherwise a good experience and would come back again.
Delicious food. Great spacing (covid safety protocols). Service was pleasant.
The eggplant sandwich was super tasty, especially the house-made focaccia. The traditional eggs benedict was good, but there could be a bit more of the hollandaise sauce. I also tried their hot chocolate and it was surprisingly good. We had to wait for almost 30 minutes for the order, which I think was a bit too long.
I finally tried Piva as a great friend took me today for a birthday gift! Oh boy!!! 10/10 all around! I had the Wild Boar Pasta and finished the whole thing! Gf had Eggplant Sandwich and said 10/10 if you enjoy eggplant lol Piva gifted me dessert & I chose the For Nonna... Chefs kiss!! We were served by Rob and he took great care of us! Super happy experience ????
Me and my wife were very impressed with this restaurant in the architecturally stunning "Anvil Centre". My wife is pregnant, so we requested a booth as it would be more comfortable for her. Despite it being a busy Friday night, this was not a problem, the only condition which they politely informed us of was we would probably have to vacate it as things got busier later in the evening, which was understandable, however we had finished our meals before this became an issue. We started by sharing an order of the Polenta Fries, which were very nice and came with a large serving of fresh marinara sauce. I then had the "For Nonno" spaghetti from the Vegetarian menu, and my wife had the Hanger Steak. Both were excellent, with the For Nonno having a bit of a spicy kick to it which I enjoyed, and my Wife thoroughly enjoyed her steak. We were impressed with service, with our server (an older gentleman) taking very good care of us, bringing dishware and cutlery, clearing up plates, refilling our water, and handing us napkins. It was exceptional and had a very personal touch. When it came time to pay the cheque, one of the more senior staff at the restaurant came over, asked us about our meal, and then asked if we wanted desert. When we said no he gave us an incredulous look - and said "I'll get you something", next thing you know, we're being given a free dessert, the "For Nonna". At this point it felt like too much, the night had had fantastic service, great food and now we were enjoying a delicious desert at no extra cost. Overall it felt like we were really spoiled! Wonderful experience and food and a great night out.

New West really needs a place for good and modern Italian food. I'm not sure this is it, but I have high hopes. The atmosphere is beautiful, whoever decorated hit that perfect mark between cozy, stylish, and slightly eclectic. Service was impeccable, everything was brought and cleared promptly, and one of the owners came over a few times to chat about the food and refill wine, etc. which was actually really non-intrusive and a nice touch. He even sent over some ice wine he thought might go well with our dessert (we don't even like ice wine normally but we loved this). The portions are slightly small, but satisfying. The appetizers were amazing - we ended up getting the beet side dish as an appetizer to go with the mouth watering ariancini. The For Nonno pasta was memorable - the spicy chicken and black beans worked really well. The only disappointment was the pizza. We ordered the fig and duck topping, and the crust was chewy and overcooked without being properly blackened. The fig was in the form of a jam, which also was dry, and the duck was ground, which means it was again dry and fell off the pizza. It was topped with uncooked spinach, which fell flat (and literally just fell) next to mild flavours like duck and fig. Actual pieces of shredded duck meat and maybe arugula would have done much better. I am curious to see if their other toppings were superior, but unless they have a better sauce base, I'm afraid they might turn out like this one. I'd go back here, but I think we'll still be searching for that perfect little Italian place for a nice dinner.
Visited last night and boy was it a bad experience! Overrated restaurant with watered down cocktails, bland food and the most annoying aspect: poor service. One of the servers was so rude that he made it a point to express his displeasure of changing our table because we had a 4 month BABY! The other servers and host were courteous but the night had already started on a bad note. What makes it all the more annoying is that it's pricing is significantly higher than regular Italian restaurants but the food (avg ~$25) or drinks (avg ~$15) don't match up to it. Very underwhelming experience. Given the setting of an 'upscale' restaurant, none of the food presentation was good. I didn't even feel like taking any pictures but I do have one for the watered down whisky sour. Avoid. Spend your hard earned ???? towards better experience.
I absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant this past Valentine's Day. I booked the reservation hoping for something casual but chic rather offhandedly, just glancing at the location and the drink selection online. Nearby and some imaginative cocktails to keep my discerning boyfriend entertained? Why not. The staff were delightful, with the hostesses bursting with sunshine. Our waitress was rather reserved in contrast to the bearded and tattooed charming waiter, but by the end of the night she was cracking jokes and laughing along with us. The drinks were indeed lovely with my standout being the.. lord, I've forgotten the name.. Rose something or other. The grapefruit and cardamom nose were gorgeous and inspired my boyfriend to ask if they would add the cardamom bitters to his Smoking Old Fashioned. They obliged him and he was raving about it all night, well into the evening after dinner. Thank you for that. For our appetizers we chose the antipasto platter and the carpaccio. The board was lovely, but lacking personality. The house marinated olives were fantastic and definitely surprised us and the artichoke and jalapeno salad was great, I just wish they were more adventurous with the meats. The carpaccio was fantastic. My favourite dish has been a let down at the last two restaurants I ordered it, but this one came out buttery and perfectly complemented with a truffle aoili that was not at all over powering. The waffle crisps could have been less brittle, but when we paired our carpaccio with the gorgonzola of the charcutie we stopped caring and started shoveling. Mains were not a home run, however. We chose the gnocchi and the lingcod. My partner adored his lingcod though it was labeled as having that Italian anchovy butter (I'm not going to even attempt to spell it aha) and we couldn't really find a trace of it. I make it every so often for my partner so I'm rather familiar with it, but hadn't in many months. He chose the dish because of it. Had he known it wasn't prominent, he would have ordered the game hen instead, but he was still rather happy with his dish. I was not impressed with my gnocchi, truthfully. There was something not cohesive about it - the chick peas do not work at all in texture and flavour, adding a watery bite. There was something lemony and buttery in there (the artichoke?) that was FANTASTIC that livened up the whole dish. I wish there were more of that as it only showed up every few bites. I can see what they were going for but I'm not sure what vegetable they could replace the chickpeas with. Maybe just a squash or pumpkin? Marinate the chickpeas? Though the texture reallllyy felt off to me, that would help the watery taste. Maybe pan fry in butter and commit entirely to the texture contrast. The atmosphere was so great. So, so great. Shout out to Ian and Michelle, a couple near by that laughed at our jokes, humoured our observations, and ordered the cardamom variation of the old fashioned. You were a delight, and a great reflection of the atmosphere. People were to themselves, but easily exchanging a kind word when appropriate. Private but warm. We drank, we laughed, and we left so happily. Thank you! We'll be back.
I've driven by Piva Modern quite a few times to and thru work when I take Columbia. The place looks great on the outside but I've never had the chance to eat inside. Normally when I want to celebrate a special occasion, I would normally consider DT Vancouver or Richmond. But since the restaurant was close to home (Coquitlam) and it has pretty good reviews online, why didn't I give the place a try? Strengths: 1) Service - the host at the restaurant owned the door for us and promptly took us to our seats The waitress came by pretty frequently to check on us throughout the meal They provided a complimentary dessert as it was a special occasion we were celebrating Food: Everything we ate tasted great and was served promptly to our table. (How many times have you had food that was 'warm' by the time it arrived at your table?) This included the two appies we ordered (Crab cake and beef tartar), and the one entree we shared which was seafood fettuccine. The tiramisu sundae was also fabulous. Conclusion From my 300 or so reviews, I've only given maybe 3 or 4 five star reviews (Ie. Miku). Piva has now joined my list of 5 star restaurants.
Dinner
Piva was amazing. Delicious food and friendly staff. My husband and I got the crab cakes, the ribeye and the duck. While they were all really good, the duck dish was absolutely delicious. The waitress also found out we were celebrating and gave us complimentary desserts. Piva offers many gluten free options as well.
We had wanted to visit this restaurant since it opened and finally got the opportunity. We were not disappointed and this was the first restaurant that I had come across that properly prepared a tenderloin steak Chicago-style. We will be coming back again soon to sample the other menu items.
Piva is one of my favourite restaurants. Friendly staff and great food! Highly recommend Piva to anybody in search of amazing Italian cuisine. The duck main course is my favourite thing on their menu as well as their for nonna dessert!!
Had an awesome brunch there. Loved their chicken n waffles. Patio dining is not so great. Too noisy with street sounds but lovely inside
Food was clean and not too greasy at all. Great service and friendly staff
Spectacular! The daily special was actually special! Wonderful service.
It’s a beautiful restaurant, and they have some impressive desserts. However, the food makes me have a very very very bad stomachache????maybe it was a little oily, but my boyfriend really liked the restaurant he thought it was good and the servers were nice just needed to pay attention to the people.
Made a couple of reservations online and called days in advance to find out if my parties could be accommodated. I call again on the day of only to be rudely addressed by the owner saying that they couldn't accommodate my requests. They then cancelled my reservation without my consent, which I found quite unprofessional. I am rather disappointed. I had no issue with them not being able to seat my party together, but that could have been communicated politely.
I really appreciated the care this restaurant took to ensure our dining experience here was safe and enjoyable. I applaud the extra effort they took to minimize exposure as I understand the significant costs to make this happen. I look forward to my next visit!
We came with a group of 9 to Piva a few weeks back and had a less than enjoyable experience but decided to give them a second chance hoping they worked some of the kinks out. We couldn't be happier with that decision. Our server, Alex, was amazing - very personable, helpful, and highly attentive. The food was a world of difference from the first time we tried out the restaurant - the problems they had before seem to all be worked out. Every dish we tried was perfect, everybody was raving about the food. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend giving this new restaurant a try.
Excellent service, excellent flavor in all courses, and a price that competes with Cactus Club etc. We received a warm welcome coming in. Service only slowed at some points, as the restaurant got busy quite fast. Even though there was a mistake on one order, it was taken care of quickly, and resolved without much wait. Everything we ate seemed like it was planned carefully. Our (non-alcoholic) drinks had great flavor, and fruity notes were very noticeable. First course of wild boar meatballs and crab cakes were both tender and juicy. The meatballs had a mix of mushrooms that surprisingly had a great flavor on their own. Crab cakes had a rich seafood flavor. Main course of the beef tenderloin rigatoni had again, tender meat, al dente pasta, and a sauce that blended everything well. Tomato based, and just a tiny amount of chili that gave an extra level of depth. Other main was a featured PEI rock crab linguini with a peppery cream sauce. Sauce felt balanced, and the creaminess seeped into the crab meat wonderfully. Finally, we had the tiramisu sundae. Mascarpone whipped cream was a balance of rich, yet light. The espresso ice cream had a VERY strong coffee flavor that was not expected. Coffee cake was another great component, and the chocolate pieces with just a hint of orange really ended things well. It really hit me how great all these dishes were, and how if this were a downtown restaurant, I would've happily paid much more for the meal. I am happy I found this restaurant, and it has such an approachable price, I can easily tell anyone I meet. Please pay them a visit, as I think they deserve to be known!
Great food, great staff! The chef is the best! Everything we had was excellent and will definitely be back.
potion sizes are really tiny. but the presentation and quality of food is excellent. I had the fettuccine, the scallops tasted fresh and shrimp was firm. dish was tasty. it's more of an upscale place then a fill you up kinda place. tables are small. prices are pretty high.
Went to Piva for an anniversary dinner and everything was amazing. Had the most delicious roasted duck I've tasted and an amazing For Nonna dessert. The service was equally as good. Definitely recommend this place.
A gorgeous restaurant with an incredibly well balanced menu. We ordered a total of six dishes and each one was delicious and full of flavour without being too decadent. The cocktails were just as nice, too. We also greatly appreciated the friendly and knowledgeable service that we received from each staff who helped us during our visit.
Great place, great food, great service. No complaints! Best fine dining in New Westminster. Long cod, Lamb and Gnocchi dishes.
I had such a great experience here. Food was wonderful, and the service was excellent! They served a dessert with a candle on the house for the birthday celebration! I would definitely go again!
I had the vegetarian version of For Nonno and the Caprese salad. Beautiful presentation on both, especially using yellow tomatoes for the Caprese. I finished my pasta even though I'd intended to take half home. To drink I had the Up In Smoke Margarita, made with mezcal instead of tequila. I love mezcal so this cocktail was meant for me. I had to get a second one. My server was friendly but it wasn't busy when I went so I don't know how good the service is when all the tables are full. This is an upscale (expensive) restaurant, but unlike so many others, here you get what you pay for.
Recently had dinner at Piva with two friends. The menu was interesting and the food was delicious. Even though my friend received the wrong entree (he did not even notice) the error was corrected and the owner went well out of his way to make up for the mistake. We were very impressed and would not hesitate to recommend this great restaurant! This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.
Honestly the food is killer.. But sitting outside for 45 minutes when it was supposed to be a short wait only to be told its going to be another hour is unacceptable in my books. Poor attitude from the hostess I was polite and gave a gentle reminder that she could have easily let us know it was going to be 1.45 wait to be seated. No, she did not tell us despite her claim. No one is going to wait 2 hours outside to get seated. I would have gladly went and ate elsewhere and come back another time. Lame sauce guys.
The service was great and staff was very attentive. The food was good but nothing the rave about. I think my favourite part was the table bread but they provided very little oil for dipping. I ordered the margarita pizza for my main and there was only a few thin shavings of cheese so it was basically just tomato sauce on bread. The restaurant wasn’t very cozy, the tables are small and the high ceilings make it feel empty even though all tables are full. The 4 stars are specifically for the service as our server was wonderful.
What a fantastic experience! We spent our anniversary here and were not disappointed. We started with the Risotto Balls and Crab Cakes. They were delicious and beautifully presented. I had the 6oz tenderloin and subbed in their truffle butter. Wow. Tender, flavorful - I ate it slowly so I could savor it! My fiance had their daily special, a lamb shank where the meat just fell off the bone. He was impressed with it and the portion size. We had great wine pairings and the staff was knowledgeable and kind. The night ended with an anniversary lava cake, deconstructed lemon tart and an affogato. All of which were beautiful and tasted great. They have great COVID measures in place and everyone in the space was very respectful. Please consider this place for your next special night out, or when you just want good quality food and service.
Location, interior design, menu, service and price-to-value. All the above get high marks, in my opinion. Refreshing, Italian kitchen. It has a feel of a downtown upscale restaurant rather than a local small town joint. Awesome, spacious, location with modern design and plenty of light, nice contemporary art works on the walls. Very friendly staff. It is not a cheap dining, but fairly reasonably priced meals for such a location.
I visited Piva on my birthday. Food and atmosphere was fantastic but most amazing was our server Nicole!!She is so sweet and amazing ????
Very nice modern and trendy place. The food is always amazing. Service is top notch . Rolled out of there very happy and will be back again.
Food tastes excellent and service was good. Pizza is a little on the pricy end but it uses great ingredients. The eggplant dish was also very tasty.
PROS -food overall was delicious. I'll definitely be back. -appetizer of carpaccio was awesome the only downside was the waffle chips on top were a bit stale/soggy -Good selection of unique non-alcoholic drinks ( great news for a preggo like me) CON Only downside was I noted a lot of regular customers getting "special attention" from owner/manager. It would've been nice to see the manager/owner make an equal effort to ask us newbies about the food and experience
Trendy decor, friendly and professional staff. I liked their broccoli and polenta fries. I didn't enjoy my gnocchi, they did not taste like potato, but were kind of sweet. I didn't try their pizza but it didn't look like Italian pizza at all. Definitely not authentic Italian. I found it overpriced for what you get.
Dinner
Extremely good crab pasta dish. The drinks, both with and without spirits, were also very good. The peak of the experience was the server, a gentlemen who engaged in brief and meaningful conversation about the menu and the area.
Went there for brunch with the family. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Enjoyed my meal here. I ordered the fig pizza which was quite good. The server was friendly and the atmosphere was nice as well.
Very nice location, classy (unique) decor and awesome vibes. The food... Well, it wasn’t great. I was very excited to try this place because of all the vegan & vegetarian options they had. We had the Caprese salad, Gnocchi, Cauliflower, vegetarian version of the Spaghetti and Arancini. The Caprese salad was probably the best out of all the dishes but definitely not as good as other places I’ve been to. The Cauliflower was dry and flavourless (it was not seasoned and tasted burnt). The Gnocchi was mostly full of chickpeas, and there were only a few pieces of the Gnocchi itself (also lacking in flavour). The Arancini was bland and the Spaghetti was so overpowered with the mushrooms, it just wasn’t right. For the pricing & prestige of this place, I expected the food to GOOD! I thought this place would be as good as Anton’s or Sopra Sotto but it was just really disappointing. We loaded our food with salt, pepper and parmesan - basically anything to add flavour. I probably wouldn’t go here again, just didn’t do it for me!
Went for our anniversary dinner and ordered the lamb..service was amazing but our dinner came out burnt. Chris was super apologetic and wanted to ensure that we come again so he gave us a gc to come back. Thank u for the great service!
The ambience, decor and bar is certainly modern and you can't find any other place like this in New West yet. Pasta was cooked perfectly. The fettuccine's tomato sauce is delicious. Having sampled both seafood fettucines at the Spaghetti Factory across the road and here, I must say I had higher expectations of the seafood. The noodles here are far superior but scallops and shrimp tasted far from fresh. The dish at Spaghetti Factory is $15 compared to $22 here. It does actually taste like it is 30% better. There was no bread served also. The coffee ice cream in the tiramisu sundae was tasty and flourless chocolate cake nice and rich.
Had an amazing meal here with my wife. Its definitely some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Our server 'Tony' was great and very friendly, because it was our wedding day we got two free desserts. I highly recommend this place, 5 stars!!!!
The ambience and the service was awesome on the day that I went to piva modern italian! It also even follows the covid protocol. The complimentary bread is amazing as well! The fritters are okay not a fan though. The chicken was basic as well. The modern italian pizza was super amazing though. I can assure that the pizzas are amazing! You should try this definitely! The dessert was the most amazing thing I’ve had in years. No one has beaten this dessert. The molten chocolate lava cake with the ice cream was just amazing! You should try the chef’s creation. In summary, I would recommend this restaurant for those who love pizzas! I would come back again to try its other pizzas and pastas! Totally recommended!
Nicest restaurant in New West, descent food, a bit pricey for what it is but nice ambiance
Excellent food, great service, and beautiful restaurant. We went to Piva for a work lunch this past week and were very happy with the entire experience. The food is absolutely delicious - everyone really enjoyed their meals, from the pizza (awesome crust/dough and delicious toppings) to the pasta. All of it was great! Christopher was a great help organizing things and ensuring that we were well taken care of and the meals were quick and delicious. Great experience and will definitely be going back.
Just wanted to say thank you to the Piva crew working through this pandemic. We did takeout last night and our food was amazing! The rigatoni, the meatballs, the duck, and the rest of our order - delicious!
Absolute must try! Fantastic food, unique and delicious cocktails and amazing service!! 100% will continue to return here!! Thank you so much for an amazing experience!! Beautiful atmosphere, stylish classy ambiance. Definitely try the gnocchi... amazing flavors!!
Thank you for a great date night. Our waitress was attentive, food came out quickly and it was delicious. We had the duck and fig pizza and Gnocchi!
italian restaurant. all the foods I had here were great
FAST REVIEW Food: Amazing and spot on. Served hot and fresh. Fresh ingredients and toppings. Portions are reasonable but taste stands out for each dish. Atmosphere: High ceilings, very roomy spacious with ample seating inside and outside. Able to see the cooks working in the background. Bar seems pretty cool. Service: Was fine. Seating was fairly smooth. Some flagging tag here and there. Was a bit up and down with some waiter/waitress. Thoughts: It's pretty hard to find a decent Italian restaurant that aims for taste this restaurant excelled on that . Others just want to get by with taste and fill you up. I hope they remain consistent my wife and I will be back. Service I'll keep an eye out.
Pleasant staff, distancing appropriate, inside or out, mixed response on food from 4 diners. Three very satisfied, one thought it mediocre. So, maybe what is ordered.
Ok food (spaghetti was super garlicky and Italian pizza very strong), but service was very poor. Waitress was slow, didn’t check in that often and was not interested in customer service. Not attentive at all. Also, arrived before 6 at the front (within happy hour) but since waitress was so slow in greeting us and asking for drinks the happy hour time expired and was not honored.
Had a wonderful dinner here last night. First off the Covid protocols are followed very well which made us feel safe while there. Good cocktail list...I had the Jazzmine it was very refreshing . Next we ordered the carpaccio...the waffle chips overtake the flavour of the carpaccio but tastes very good with the crostini. We also had the arancini balls...so good!! For dinner I had the 6oz tenderloin and subbed in the truffle butter. One of The most buttery and tender steaks I’ve ever ate. My friend ordered the mushroom pizza. Overall it was a delicious meal accompanied by a warm and inviting ambiance. Will definitely be back!
Dine in
Service is always great and the food is fabulous. Big portions so be aware while ordering a salad. It is definitely a dish to share.
Lovely food!! We had the nonna for desserts and it was so damn good!
Absolutely wonderful. Price wise we spent about $80 for two including tips. Two Main, one dessert and one appetizer. At Vancouver downtown it would run you at least over $100. Food was great too. In fact, i rarely ate desserts but we end up getting it because we loved the food.
We had such great service, the wood fired oven pizza and fettuccine were super delicious..large portions! Awesome happy hour menu too. Definitely will be back, thanks Piva!
Meal type
We went to Piva's for niece's RN graduation celebration. Dinner was very good. We ordered few appetizers, salad and two entrees and shared everything as we wanted to try different things on menu. The pizza and spaghetti Bolognese was very good. We will definitely be coming back again. Support our local restaurants and community ????
Wonderful space, friendly staff and the food was so delicious! The arancini was so good we didn't even stop to take a picture. The deep fried eggplant was also delicious with the generous toppings. And if I see a mushroom pizza on the menu it is my go to and this was the best mushroom pizza I have ever had! Will definitely be coming back here.
Pretty restaurant! Great tasting made in house drink mixes, non alcoholic and alcohol options. Interesting staff, somewhat intrusive bartender lady. Mediocre italian food, which I didn’t find very traditional. Great location, pay parking on side of building. Open kitchen design. In my opinion if management is on premise, they should go around and make sure people are happy with the service.
The most disgusting place to eat at. Will never go back. The waitresses were drying dishes the placing the dirty towels on the counter with the food and also covering the silverware with same dish towels The second thing that happened within in the first five minutes of being seated was I was accosted with watching a pick her backside and not wash her hands. So happy that this lady was not our waitress. The noise leave was so loud that my husband and I could not have a conversation. I have had better food at the spaghetti factory I did here.
The Margherita was fresh and delicious. The For Nonna was even better. I will return or order from them again
Where do I start? This is hands down my absolute new favorite Italian restaurant in the lower mainland. Reservations are a must on Friday or Saturday evenings. We went a few weeks back on a double date and it was amazing. Our server was fantastic. Our sommelier Christopher was amazing. He recommended a great bottle of wine for us girls. Even came back after we joked that the wine was "ok" with another choice! We started with Arancini risotta balls. They were amazing. Melted in your mouth!!! Added an extra ball so that all 4 of us could enjoy it! I had their risotta special for the night. My partner had the linguini carbonara, our friends had the lamb dinner and the. "For nonno" spaghetti. Everything was fantastic. So fresh and authentically Italian! I felt like I was back in Rome!! One of owners came to check up on us. He even recommended a sampler of desserts for us to share. All and all it was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back soon to try their pizza and the rest of the menu! Also can't wait to try their new brunch menu!!!
An unbeatable dining experience! The service is excellent, Ella and Farhan are beyond amazing. The food was perfect. And the music! ????????????????Two lunches in two days and I’m ready to come back again tmrw. A true gem in New West. Thanks Piva! See you again soon.
Awesome food and great service! The food selection isn't huge, but everything tasted amazing - especially the focaccia bread they give as an appetizer
Great food, great ambience and atmosphere. The server was enthusiastic and we had a great experience!
The hostess was dazed and confused. She appeared unfriendly and showed no enthusiasm. We were welcomed with a neutral expression and almost mute interaction. Initially , in an empty house she sat us in the middle of the restaurant between two other families; That was immediately corrected after our disapproval. Once we sat down we were served by an incredibly friendly gentlemen named Alex. He was the highlight of our experience their. The setting is extremely nice for new west standards at it is located inside the brand new anvil centre. The food was SUB par! Excellent food selection for the menu but everything from the appetizers to the desert lacked something. The food came out extremely fast but it lacked primarily flavour. A few simple things like a dash of salt and a pinch of garlic would have made it complete but it fell short. An example, The margarita pizza was soggy in the centre. I hope as the growing pains fade Piva succeeds.
What an amazing experience! The food is amazing and the staff is great. We came here for an anniversary dinner and the managing director Christopher built us a 4 course menu with wine pairings. I've never had such an incredible restaurant experience. 10/10 would recommend!
Our server Ian was phenomenal and the food was delicious!
There is nothing like this restaurant in New West! I took my boy friend here yesterday for our anniversary and we had such a great experience. The decor was beautiful and the food was so yummy and well put together. The flavours were so distinctive and delicious! Our server was Tony and he was wonderful :)! He was so professional and nice- he even saw to it that we got a beautiful gluten free dessert and wished us a happy anniversary. It really made our evening that much more special :) This is truly a gem of a restaurant in New West and I can't wait to go back again soon!
Piva has a really great ambiance, good wine selection and decent happy hour prices. Would be a good option for date night for New West locals or just something to level up your dinner/lunch. That said, I don't necessarily think Piva's price and menu is at the top of its game when it comes to what the lower mainland offers for pizza and pasta. If you're already in the area, Piva is worth checking out but if you want to take a pilgrimage for handmade pasta, might I suggest Pepino or Savio Volpe in Vancouver. More locally to New West, I recommend L'Onore Pizza more so than Piva.
Great food, great service, cosy atmosphere and friendly staffs!
We love this place. Piva is the only place with such amazing food and super friendly staff. Highly recommended!
It was an amazing first experience, from the food, desert to our great server Tony.
Lovely place, perfect for a date or just a night out. Flavourful and well cooked Italian food, not your everyday restaurant. A bit on the expensive side, but totally worth it for your occasions. A
I enjoyed this restaurant very much. The service was good and I enjoyed the food overall. I ordered their duck and fig pizza which although tasty was a bit on the sweeter side, the base was fig instead of tomato puree. So if you don't like sweet and savory it might not be for you. This restaurant is great for a special occassion.
Came here by recommendation of a friend. The interior and atmosphere was nice, modern and hip. Our server was attentive. Food, however, was very average. We had the (wild boar) meatballs to start, which was unique, juicy, and nicely made. For mains we had the vognole (spaghetti with clams), and the modern italian pizza. For the vognole there was ample clams, but the taste was average and the pasta did not have the hand made texture. Pizza toppings were decent, but again the dough was kind of tough and didn't quite have the wood oven fired texture. For dessert we had the tiramisu sundae, which was unique but not very refined. Overall the food felt very average for the price.
The online reservation was so easy to book. I was able to come here for brunch with my family. The kids loved the experience. They ordered chicken and waffle (amazing to watch them gobble it up). The salmon frittata was tasty. The duck sandwich could use a little more cranberry sauce but it was very well balanced with the mozzarella and fat from the duck. The soup of the day was delicious with the truffle oil. The hash browns were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The eggs Benedict didn’t disappoint either. We ordered too much food but every bite was so good. We ordered a few mock tails and it was refreshing but ask for easy ice since the glasses are small.
Fine dining in New Westminister. Tasty food and fancy cocktails. We weren't asked how our meal was or asked if we wanted fresh pepper. Our drinks were left empty for quite a while as well. Capacity was @ 75%. That's the reason for 4 stars. If you don't mind those shortcomings you'll love it!
Really enjoyed my dinner at Piva! The food and service was amazing. Everyone that I went with ordered different pastas and everyone liked the food. The pizzas looked really good too! Overall, great dining experience and would definitely recommend.
Taste: 7/10 Value: 7/10 Came for brunch/lunch today, I had a better dinner with them before. For nonno pasta: spicy with a kick. Tastes pretty good! Ok Mushroom pizza: not the same one I had at dinner before. Toppings we're good but the crust was too chewy and doughy (tough) Mediterranean benny: pretty good! Good hash good bread nice exploding egg Overall good! But disappointed by the pizza. Benny is solid tho Update: came again Salmon Benny: THE BEST. Must order this one. Traditional Benny: good as well but salmon Benny stole the spotlight for me! @nomnomstyle
Good food, good atmosphere. I personally liked the vongole - the clams were very juicy. The waiter was very helpful in picking out a wine and suggested one that really suited my taste. They're also one of those fancy places that gives you delicious bread and olive oil with vinegar to dip. Super convenient too since it's right next to the skytrain. Price was as you'd expect from a fancy Italian restaurant - pricey but not exorbitant.
Cool modern Italian place. Came for lunch on Sunday and had quick and pleasant service. Food is high quality and fresh, although not quite spectacular enough for a five star rating. Service was excellent, and the overall vibe was just right - modern, but not pretentious. A welcome addition to the neighborhood, and I imagine they will only improve.
Our dinner this evening was perfect. Our first time here and we were very happy with the service and the food. We were seated by the kitchen and it was fun to watch the chefs preparing meals. Our server was warm and friendly, making us feel at home, and the ambience and decor is beautiful. We felt like the prices were in line with other places we visit, and the pastas, pizzas, and salads were especially good value. Lastly, the house made sorbet was amazing and refreshing. The noise levels are fine even when full, which is very much appreciated as we could visit and talk no problem. Cant wait to return!
My wife and I recently went to this restaurant. We both ordered pasta dishes. Both dishes had way way too much salt in it... was really surprised that the kitchen would let something like this be served. Waitress apologized and didn't charge for our drinks. As far as returning, we can get better pasta at the pub or spaghetti factory, so no we will not be back.
Lunch
Great service. Impeccable food and wonderful atmosphere. A must try! Make this one of your MUST visits.
Prefer Big Mac and cold beer under $12 Then paying $150 for this poor quality resturant, Feels like food court in Coquitlam center with server. Pasta al denote was 5 min too early, focaccia day old crispy taste, stains on the table, cheap dollar store wine glasses Most unfriendly manager who’s not too concern, he should be a bus boy or dishwasher manager instead. I’m wondering who’s posting good reviews ??? Maybe friends and the family. I had doubts before making a reservation but I needed to find out if as good as its reviews. Never again.
Had a family meal for 7 people last night. Staff was very attentive (cleaning tables, refilling waters) even as the restaurant was quite full. Food was clean and fresh. Unlike some Italian restaurants in town, they did not smother their dishes with butter, salt and cheese (must have read a previous review and took action;)). What we had was well seasoned and not overpowering where you can more than one bite without feeling heavy. Tables and ambience was also very nice and classy. Would definitely come back.
Great environment, beautiful restaurant, awesome drink list! I definitely recommend. And Christopher AKA the sommelier, is the best at what he does.
An absolutely lovely experience from start to finish! Went here for my first anniversary last night with my man, it was fabulous. Gorgeous decor, incredibly quick and kind staff, and the food was absolutely to die for! An amazing modern take on italian cuisine, the seafood linguine had perfectly cooked scallops and shrimp which for a newfie like me was incredibly impressive. My man had the gnocchi and it was the perfect pillow softness you'd want. Lots of garlic and tons of flavour. The arancini was perfectly done as well. The wine pairing suggested by our waitress was perfect and they even comped our dessert and gave us two glasses of delicious moscato simply because of our anniversary :) awesome experience from the second we sat down to when we left, the atmosphere was very positive and you could tell all the staff really enjoy their work, which as a service worker myself made the meal even better. Their Sunset non-alcoholic spritzer is a must try as well. Not to mention we were in and out within an hour! Highly recommend for a nice dinner out, the prices are reasonable considering how high quality and fresh every ingredient is in their dishes. Definitely make reservations on a weekend night, Piva is worth checking out. I wish I had a chance to catch the name of our waitress but she truly went above and beyond, even brought out the bottle of moscato so we could take a photo of it for later! Most definitely will be back!
Went for brunch. Staff were very hospital and made me feel welcome. Service was quick. Food was very good but not spectacular.
Phenomenal service and amazing food..Will definitely be coming back!!
Grabbed some take out for dinner and wow, was it ever good. Well executed innovative pastas and great takes on classics like caprese salad. I recommend the Pasta for Nonna, if you like it spicy and the rigatoni with sausage and broccolini if you prefer rich and savory.
Had a great experience. My girlfriend and i split a pizza, brussel sprouts, polenta fries, and for nonno. All was deliscious! That pizza sauce was thick and tasty and the pasta and fries were unique and tasty. Most importantly, our waiter was excellent. Will certainly go again.
We went for our anniversary, we wanted to go to Italian and this was new and close. The service was stellar - our server, she was attentive even though she seemed to be doing drinks for most of the other orders. We started with the Duck Confit pizza to share. It was delicious - the thin crust was crispy yet the crust itself was fairly doughy underneath the crunch. The toppings really melded together well, not oily or too salty. My wife had the Fettuccini, which had tomatoes, scallops, and prawns. They give a good portion of seafood she felt and she also liked how the prawns had their tails removed. I had the spaghetti, which was in a meat sauce with mushroom, veal, and sausage. It was very delicious, with a generous helping of sauce that was rich and full of flavour. My wife ordered a chocolate vanilla martini - it is sweet and comes with two cherries dunked in chocolate...and I think rum? She was happy and enjoyed it as a dessert. The manager knew it was our anniversary and brought us two desserts and two glasses or Moscato. We let him choose his two favourite desserts - For Nonna and the Lemon Tart. Both were exceptional, though we both enjoyed For Nonna a little more. We highly recommend going there. We will definitely go back. The service was excellent and the food is great. I would expect to spend more at another restaurant for what we got, so that's just an added bonus.
Went for brunch for the first time before a show at the Anvil Centre. Even though parking is paid, something to note is that on a Sunday, street parking is free until noon. It is also across the street from a skytrain station. Inside, it presents itself as a classier establishment. However, it has hints of spunk as you can see in some of the art, and the "climbers" on the pillars. The pricing on the food was competitive when compared to casual dining, but you could tell that they put an effort into the food quality. For example, I had the Mediterranean Eggs Benedict, which came on focaccia bread instead of English muffins. The yolks with the eggs were a bright orange rather than a dull yellow. And it seemed that the ketchup with made in house rather than a generic store bought brand. I usually drink my coffee with cream and sugar to cover up any bitterness a coffee may have. But their coffee is locally roasted within a few days, and had a nice mild flavour that I enjoyes drinking black. The service was friendly and welcoming. The server we had made us feel like we were guests in their home, not at a restaurant. I was caught off guard by the placement of the napkin on my lap, but this because I wasn't expecting it. In the end, this is a place where my wife and I enjoyed brunch, and will want to come back to try a dinner.
Great atmosphere! For the price of food though my appetite had greater expectations. Would love to to again and try something more off the menu. I think they would benefit from a more unique menu, most options were very common to a chain restaurant.
Excellent modern up-scale Italian dining lounge. Food and service were superb. Fantastic wine list with in-house expertise to back it up. A truly great addition to the New Westmister city scene.
Great restaurant and superb dining experiance. We all ordered something different and couldn't decide which one was best. Our waitress, Hayley, was very personable and her expertise was much appreciated. The Sangria was delightful (tried both red and white). We will definitely become regular diners! Thanks! IL Migiliorel!!!
One of my favourite Italian restaurants in the city. I got nonna's pasta which had a good kick but was still very flavourful. Server was great, very responsive and available when we needed him. Can't wait to go back and try new dishes!
Service was excellent. She was funny, knowledgeable and attentive. Food arrived promptly and portion size was descent for the value. Night out to celebrate a friend's birthday. Will definitely be back again.
Rude staff and manager, salty food. I wouldn’t go back. The manager was super rude and aggressive, avoid this place at all costs.
Pretty decent food. Truly excellent deserts. However the portion size is fairly small and we were only about 80% full even after ordering four main courses (three courses plus a platter) and three deserts for three people.
Service
Fantastic food and drinks! Went here recently and was served by Jasmine who was the nicest ever! Very attentive and kind and really made the whole experience special. Could not find a single fault in the place, my favourite meal since I moved here! Thanks again Piva and Jasmine!!
Nice ambience, Nice decor, good service. We met the manager who was very pleasant and welcoming. Great addition to the new west restaurant options. Presents my family and I an option not to go all the way downtown Vancouver for a night out. Favourite was the duck which I had medium and the deserts were also really good. Welcome to New West Piva
So delicious~ One day, I saw there are full of people inside at late 9 pm, and decided to visit here later. Then, I came here, food were really nice. It looks expensive, but price is moderate. To me, here's the best Italian restaurant in Vancouver.
Great food! One of our favourite spots for a nice dinner out in New West. They also have a delicious brunch on weekends.
I am giving 5 stars for the amazing service my group received last night. Our reservation was at 8:45 but unfortunately due to COVID-19, the table wasn’t ready and we had to wait outside for quite a bit. Thankfully, the manager/person in charge was quick to acknowledge us and made us feel taken care of despite the wait. The service was outstanding from beginning to end. It is hard for restaurants to manage during these difficult times, so the effort that was put into accommodating us was definitely appreciated . For food, we had the Brussels sprouts , wild boar meat balls, linguine vongole, and modern Italian pizza, and tiramisu. All were delicious (particularly liked the pizza the most). Might suggest that the Brussel sprouts be seasoned with some truffle Oil and Parmesan just to give it some extra flavor! Definitely give this place a try and support our local eateries !
Limited menu, but good taste & portion size. Service is ok, can be better.
Absolutely love this place! The food is phenomenal, and the staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure their guests have a great experience. Each time we visit there is always something new and delicious to try - I can’t wait for next time!
Food is ok, but this dessert called For Nona is one of the best desserts I've ever had!
Enjoyed a nice meal here with 7 other people. There is lots of space for medium to larger groups. The menu is concise and with a good variety of options for everyone. The restaurant is brightly lit with natural light during the day and decorative industrial style lights as well. The staff are warm, helpful, and friendly. I definitely will be back!
The food was amazing!! All the flavors in all the plates complimented and overlapped beautifully, nothing was overpowering. We got the Burrata, Carbonara, Vongole, Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. The panna cotta was absolutely divine. The carbonara was a little saucier than I would prefer but the egg was poached PERFECTLY???? our service was amazing as well, they spaced the meals so perfectly our palettes had time to reset to accomadate the next dish. We're both line cooks, but this was my first fine dining experience and you guys clearly set the bar VERY high for new westminsters upscaling???? will definitely be back????
Very cute with good food!! The Caesar salad however was extremely disappointing but it's probably on us for ordering that.
We have been to Piva a few times now and have always had great service and great food. Tonight we went to celebrate our anniversary and had Angela as our waitress, she was amazing and we received exceptional service! Highly recommend Piva for a date night or any special occasion! One of our favourite places to dine in New Westminster!
What an absolute perfect dining experience. The food was superb, ambience was excellent and service was spot on. Our whole party enjoyed all their meals and the wine selection was abundant. Highly recommend.
Like everyone's been saying, the ambiance here is very nice. This is perfect romantic date night type of place. I went here with my SO and we both enjoyed our drinks. The food was good but nothing to gush for. It is a bit higher up for the price range, especially in the New West area.
The atmosphere, service, and food were fantastic! Can't wait to have another reason to celebrate something!
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant! Located in newest, parking right below or a 30 second walk from the skytrain. The staff are super friendly and great. They have a solid happy hour selection and a wide array of options including gluten free and vegan options. The atmosphere is welcoming and upscale but casual enough for any occasion. The music is quite enough not to have to yell at the person across from you. Our server was lovely, some of the dishes were amazing but a couple needed improvement. Overall I would happily return here and try the other items on the menu. Even their gluten free pasta was cooked to perfection!
Had a lovely time. Food was amazing as usual and waitress provided great service. Had pasta and lamb. Cant say the same about the hostess.. Which is a shame because first impressions are right when you enter.
Amazing pasta's and great service. We have been going here ever since it opened, some of the best Italian food New West has to offer!
Very nice atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. The staff are friendly and check on us regularly to make sure everything is fine
I went for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were exceptional. I truly had a wonderful time. The food was amazing, the wine was really good. Overall atmosphere was great , would definitely come back again.
I loved their service! The service was exceeding our expectation. Since it was our first time trying Piva, the waiter explained every single dish on the menu and suggested what would be good dish for us to try. We ordered Fettuccine, their main pizza, butternut squash soup, and desert of our waiter's choice. (Forgot the name...Haha) Everything was just amazing and nicely cooked with fresh food! Also, reasonable price is plus! Must go again.
First time trying Piva Modern Italian and they did not disappoint. Went here for happy hour and their feature cocktail was the pink panther, it was delicious! I loved how they used a pasta as a straw ???? talk about creative! Also ordered the wild boar meatballs and their Brussel sprouts. Would definitely come back to try their dinner menu!
Best Italian food in New Westminster. Ask to be attended by Lexy (she is the best!!!!!!) Great food + great service + great place= GREAT FAMILY TIME
The short: - picked up food once in Dec 2020, and would try again. - food (pasta and pizza) was good. - online ordering did not work well for us (details below). The long: - bistecca pasta: nice taste, spicy, tender meat, good quantity (2 people can share). - nonno vegetarian: nice taste, spicy, bold garlic flavor, good quantity (2 people can share). - duck and fig pizza: thin and soft base, sweet likely because of fig, crust was thick and chewy, 2 people can share. - provided a bread with soy sauce and olive oil - ambience was excellent. - could not find dedicated parking, but a parkade is available close to it. - our online order did not go through for some reason. We called them on our way and placed the order over the phone again. They cannot see any online order 30-mins before the pickup time chosen. I hope they resolve it as it can be tricky if you want to check your order 30-mins before the pickup time. - good covid measures: physical distancing, masks, instructions
Surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet as it is one of my favourites outside of Vancouver. Everything I've tried here has been tasty and the prices are reasonable, considering how upscale the menu feels and how beautiful the decor and ambiance are. Even the focaccia and balsamic/oil they bring out upon being seated is lovely and sets a nice tone. Pictured are a couple of dishes from our most recent visit: the Modern Italian pizza and the Wild Boar pasta. The Modern Italian pizza was just a 7/10 for me as the base was a bit soggy with the weight and creaminess of the toppings, and I felt like it needed something zesty as a topping to cut through the creaminess. It was good value as it was so rich that we took half of it home as leftovers, but I prefer something like the Duck & Fig pizza, personally. The Wild Boar pasta was 10/10, as were the Polenta Fries we had as a starter. Some of my other favourites at Piva are the Eggplant Gnocchi and the For Nonno pasta. They also have a great weekend brunch menu with probably the best Fried Chicken & Waffles I've ever had. Definitely worth a try if you've got an appetite!
This modern Italian restaurant is one of my favourite places to have dinner. Make reservations as it is hugely popular now. Love the Piva Diva cocktail and the Polenta fries to start. I've never been disappointed in my meals. Great service with attention to detail. The owner is there most nights and can be seen taking the time to chat with guests.
Came here for brunch and I ordered the funghi eggs benedict. SO good. I've come to Piva several times and the taste and quality of their food have remained consistent. Great taste, good portion and reasonably priced. Even their drip coffee is good unlike many other restaurants. Our server was great- detail oriented and attentive. She checked in on us regularly, but we didn't feel smothered either. :) Great ambiance and decor!
The food I've had here has been very good (haven't experienced much since I eat gluten free) but the service leaves something to be desired. Our waiter was slow to come take our drink order, then the food came before we got our drinks, and the food order was mixed up. The servers all seem rushed, like they just got triple sat. It's also super loud & noisy - mind you, both times I've been here were Saturday nights. Piva is a beautiful restaurant and the location couldn't be better so I hope the leadership improves.
My partner and I came here about a month ago. Everything we ordered was delicious! I ended up burning my mouth on the polenta sticks we had (my own fault really, and you'd rather the food come out too hot than cold) and the manager handled it beautifully. I think his name was Ravi? Something close to that. He came over and apologized (even though I wasn't upset with them) and wanted to know how he could make it up to us. Great food but I especially appreciate good customer service. We will definitely be back!
Great space with beautiful interior design and warm welcome from the hostesses and wait staff. I came with a larger group of ladies, 12 to be exact! And we rolled in at different times and they were so accommodating. I always get a bit nervous or concerned when dining out with large groups but our waitress was wonderful. So attentive and helpful as for many of us, it was first time visiting PIVA. They have a seasonal menu that gets updated... seasonally lol. Many of us ordered from the summer menu and loved the octopus appetizer and seafood linguine. We imbibed with a bottle of prosecco served in nice champagne flutes. I ordered the prawn and scallop fettuccini which was absolutely delicious and it was quite a generous portion (could not finish on my own)! I heard the pasta was made in house, but it didn't have the quality or look of a 'fresh made fettuccini noodle' ... maybe they dry their own homemade noodles? They served us all about the same time after appetizers. The atmosphere and ambience were like that of a modern and popular downtown Vancouver restaurant. I can vouch for the high quality of customer service as many reviews have said before mine. See the photos attached for up close shots of some dishes we enjoyed. Next time I'll take photos of the ambience and layout????
We've been going there since they opened. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Service is second to none. Just had lunch there on our anniversary weekend. Zach was our server and was friendly and attentive. They seem to all have fun and like their jobs. Thanks for being an excellent New Westminster staple!! Update: Had dinner there the other night before seeing a movie. We got there nice and early and were enjoying ourselves. As the kitchen all of a sudden got Slammed! We waited longer than usual for the food. Not a huge deal. We asked for the cheque when the food arrived so we could mosey. Not only did they bring the cheque but also a $50 gift card for next time. All we did was ask for the cheque!! Serious service warrants serious reviews and recommendations. I will never stop recommending this place. Fantastic food, sublime service. Thank you Piva!
Hip upscale spot, in a modern space, and it showed. Space will filled on a weeknight and made for even more promising space to see a live band up front. Good food and good portions for the price. Had the ling cod and modern Italian pizza. Nothing to complain about, especially the generous portioned cod. Good dishes. What was a bit disappointing was a few fruit flies. I see fruit flies in much more "casual" spaces and couldn't care less. To see the little buggers in such an upscale spot is odd, to say the least. I know they are hard to control but there are so many other classy joints where I don't find this problem. Perhaps try some apple cider traps selectively hidden around the entire space to manage. Other than that, I would certainly return to try other nights and more selections from the bar. Mixology is likely something to behind here. A traditional Negroni peaked my interest to try several more cocktails and spirits on my next visit. You don't usually have this feeling far outside the downtown core, but I'm very glad I don't have to travel far to get the whole experience.
Got the risotto during brunch hour and it was so salty that I thought the chefs accidentally dropped the entire salt shaker in my food. The servers were attentive and nice though. Other foods like the potato wedges served with waffles were also way too salty. Very disappointed unlike the high reviews.
Went for the "Happy Hour" specials. Didn't drink but my guest did; white wine. They said it was cold, so I guess that's a good start. The Mushroom pizza is very good as was the Arancini. I had a couple of their non-alcoholic concoctions, which were tasty; next time I don't be driving. The atmosphere is very nice, relaxing, open concept, airy. Background music visible but not intrusive. The staff are friendly and prompt, without hovering. We both thought this was a great place and will be going back for a full-fledge meal; I won't be driving this time.
An average restaurant. Not the best Italian food, especially if you’re looking for authentic Italian flavours, but more like Italian inspired Canadian style foods. I got spaghetti and I wished the pasta was fresh, wasn’t as oily as it was, and the beans were more well done. The Wine list wasn’t very impressive. The ambIance was ok, similar to a Cactus Club Cafe, and the service was ordinary. I did feel safe dining at Piva during the Pandemic.
My wife and I went on a date night to try out the dessert and drinks. It did not disappoint! The biggest stand out to us was the service. We really did feel like a million bucks here. Great service seems to be rare these days, but this place has it nailed down.
The food was good but it came out very slowly. Most likely due to the amount of people we had in our party.
Much improved. To start we shared the crab cakes which were fine. For mains we had both the ribeye, and tenderloin, which were cooked properly to order, rare, and med rare. But the star of the evening was of course, our server Ian.
Ordered spaghetti bolognese takeout on Friday. Chris paired it with the perfect Pinot Noir. Our only (slight) criticism is the sauce was a little spicier than it has been in the many times we have ordered this dish. Still the best sauce around but a little less spicy would be perfect!
Really delicious food and great wine selection.
We had a wonderful dinner there. The food is healthy and tasty; the service is friendly and swift; the environment is artistic and spacious. Full with customers but even comfortable with many nice people around. Nice clientele to Piva also mean they know what they are doing!
It's a nice place to go to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or just for fun.
Food is always wonderful here! The calamari steak is phenomenal!! Always come here and get the best service as well.
I spent a relaxing evening with two of my friends yesterday who took me to a new restaurant in New West called Piva. I have had my fill of Italian restaurants that are much, much less than what they claim. Piva will not disappoint you! Like a breath of fresh air, the kitchen does an expert job producing gourmet quality delights such as their succulent calamari steak and roasted duck breast with an expertly executed creamy, buttery, cheesy, polenta. The service was outstanding and never obtrusive. The ambience - city chic with romantic undertones. This Red Seal Chef gives it a thumbs up. Highly recommended.
Dinner
Back in Oct 23rd, I had the opportunity to visit Piva Modern for dinner. it was a cold and wet evening however the staff and the restaurant had shown a warm welcome to myself and my guests. During the dining, I noticed an older gentleman and came into the restaurant. He appears to be lost and cold. Later I found out that he only speaks cantonese and one of the staff happened to speak the same language. She was able to help him. I witnessed the staff treated him very kindly. They could have turned him away instead they offered him some hot water and bread. Once he was finished, he was happily continue his journey. I've been in the customer service for over 12+ years, what i saw that night was service straight from the heart. I want to give the staff that worked that night my highest praise.
Felt safe eating here. Food and service were excellent.highly recommend this place.
My favorite Italian restaurant in the Metro Vancouver. The interior decor is modern, chic and welcoming. The best dish that I'd highly recommend is the truffle flavor mushroom pizza. The only a few complaints would be the receptionist sometimes made mistakes when taking my takeout orders. Besides, the new online order feature on its website is not easy to use.
Excellent food delicious wine, beautiful atmosphere and patience amazing waitress. Went with my other half and we will absolutely be coming back.
What a wonderful experience at Piva Service was excellent throughout the stay Ambiance really nice. The lamb was awesome and the beef ravioli also good. The chocolate dessert and the lemon was to die for
Fabulous food. Beautiful decor. Italian hospitality at its best! Highly recommend saving room for dessert, and enjoying some of the Italian wine selections! Will certainly be back for many more visits ❤️
Came here for brunch with family. Food is well balanced, like what you'd expect of a classier restaurant, but with a modern Italian twist. I thoroughly enjoyed the eggs bene with prosciutto and focaccia bread. Prices are fair for the service, food, and environment. I'd like to come back and try a few more things. The " for Nonna" dessert and "for Nonno" spaghetti were also highlights from other plates I tried.
We had lunch just after the brunch rush, so experienced Piva at a really quiet, relaxing time and the ambiance was great. Our table had the crab cakes, gnocci, eggplant sandwich and mushroom pizza - everything was on point. One guest had the frittata and it was a little lackluster, maybe some greens would have rounded out the dish. Still tasty and all-round great experience. Will be back!
The bacon and fig pizza was a bit too sweet for my wife, but I was ok. Good for a starter to share. My carbonara liguine was delicious. Love it. A very good high end italian restsurant. Good for dinner after movie. Landmark 10 is right across the street. Service was good. Will be return.

Edit: I wish I could do multiple reviews, every special occasion we have gone here and have never been disappointed. Ky (?spelling) took care of us recently, we always get the two steak dishes, crab cakes, and carpaccio. Always consistently delicious, but that visit was beyond 5 stars, every bite was beautiful! The service is always phenomenal, and the food is always amazing. Thank you for giving us a place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries! I had such an amazing experience here. If you ever go here request Tony, he was so sweet and he took such good care of us. Lovely person and great service. Our wine took maybe a minute or two longer than it should have to arrive and he gave it to us for free for "the wait" - such amazing customer service I cant believe it. It was our first time here for our 2nd year anniversary and we ordered the two steak dishes. I got the tenderloin and I DIED it was so so good. I wanted to hug the chefs. Honestly. Please go here for special occasions you wont regret it. Obviously the price is on the higher side but you're going to be full at the end of your meal and extremely satisfied. LOVE!
Service
Very nice experience. Good dining environment and delicious food. We had mushroom Pizza, gnocchi and fettuccine. Would love to come back and try other options!
Fantastic location. Great food, great service. Trendy yet very low key. Manager is awesome.. Will definitely go there again..
Went here Saturday night expecting great food and service. Instead we got a a table that wasn’t even fully cleaned. My cup was also dirty, our server had no enthusiasm what so ever. For food we ordered the cauliflower starter, which was super bland almost as if there was no salt. Our mains we got vegetarian gnochhi and fettuccine. The fettuccini was less than stellar expected way more, the gnochhi wasn’t so bad but wasn’t great either. As for the overall atmosphere it was nice. Another thing was there is a major safety hazard as their restaurant has a leak in whichu the manager or owner almost slipped on. All he did was casually wipe it and kept going as if nothing happened. Will not go again for sure. Edit: management contacted us and made it a point to better our experience. They did not disappoint, the service was amazing the food was much better this time around and the drinks were also great! The server we got this time was much better did an amazing job, her name was Angela. Given this second time around I can say that we are definitely coming back. Thanks for making it up!
Piva has exceeded my expectations by a mile. The food was delicious and our server, Emma, was incredibly friendly and outgoing! The atmosphere was warm and alive with stunning interior lights and marble tops. My friend and I started with a mimosa and I was expecting the drinks to be watered down with ice and juice but to my surprise, there was a nice ratio of Prosecco: juice + no ice. The Western Benedict (smoked salmon and capers) were cooked perfectly. They placed the eggs and hollandaise on freshly baked bread that they make in-house every day. Does it get any better? Why, yes it does. The second order, chicken and waffles was completely ethereal. The crisp crunch on the chicken had clearly been perfected without even touching it but once you got that bite, the seasonings melted in your mouth. The waffles had a touch of cinnamon and came with just the right amount of butter and syrup. I honestly have to compliment the portion sizing; it was to the T. Both of us had used up all of what was on our plates without ever needing to ask for more. I highly recommend coming to visit for brunch, lunch, or just a dinner date. All the staff are very engaging and won't hesitate to make sure you feel at home. The food won't disappoint and neither will the drinks! Special thanks to Subraaz and Christopher, the executive chef and the managing partner/wine director! You guys made my first experience at Piva very special and welcoming. We will be back for round 2 very shortly.
Piva provides a great ambiance for any occasion. We received great service and recommendations throughout our dining experience. A place to recommend that’s away from Downtown Vancouver.
Great food, amazing cocktails, attentive staff, beautiful restaurant in a convenient location. Friends who have been here before took me to this culinary beacon in downtown New Westminster. It's not cheap or fast food (thank goodness), and definitely focuses on a quality experience. The cocktail and wine lists are impressive. I had the Negroni Sour, and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. The appetizers were the meatballs and the carpaccio; both were sublime. My entree was the duck; it was very good with a glass of Italian red recommended by the waiter.. The flourless chocolate cake was a delightful end. Highly recommended.
Good service and good food! The fry chicken waffles is a little over cook. Pasta and pizza nicely done
One of my favorite restaurants in New Westminster. You lamb dish is amazing and you can't go wrong with a smokey old fashioned
Dinner
We ordered but it was so good, I can't wait to dine in. The deserts are limited and there is no tiramisu ???? but otherwise our experience was really good.
Excellent food. Great service from our waitress (that's "server" for the PC crowd). Superb suggestion from the sommelier. Nice music (when audible over the hubbub). We really like this place.
Excellent thin crust pizzas, bold flavours happy hour drinks, casual and relaxed, great service.
I really enjoy this spot, I have been for brunch and had the chicken and waffles. I went for lunch today and made a starter meatballs into a meal by adding spaghetti. My server was excellent, Lexi I believe. She was on top of things and ran my food out great, made sure I was taken care of. I would go back forsure and continue exploring the menu!
I ordered the cauliflower sharing plate, polenta fries, and gnocchi. While the food was edible, it didn't hit the mark in terms of flavour (read: bland). Also, the gnocchi had too much oil and I think it would have been nice to know about that beforehand. We finished off with for Nonna, which looked great but the phyllo was disappointing. My interaction with your staff was great though. You guys have a good team!
Had my birthday with my friend on Sunday. Great branch menu. Egg Benedict with focaccia. Potato was nice and crispy. The staff noticed our celebration and presented with pretty cake. What a wonderful surprise! The other staff gave us a birthday wishes as well. Thanks for wonderful hospitality. Totally made our day.
Had a pretty good experience. Probably one of the best places that I’ve been to in the area for Italian (although the food scene in Vancouver is very weak imo), accompanied with great service. They also have a separate vegetarian menu. Manager came around and took my empty plate away as soon as I placed my knife in the plate, and had a sense of humour about it. Food quality was good and nothing was over cooked. Our server, Angela, was lovely and very accommodating. Would recommend and will return to try more dishes. Make sure you reserve a table online (easy with OpenTable), as they are very busy.
Best meal I've had in a very long time! We went to celebrate our 6 year anniversary and we're not disappointed. The service was outstanding, with a special shoutout to Hanna(?) for making our night a memorable one. The food was amazing, the drinks were innovative and delicious, and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable when it came to wine pairings. I highly recommend the Smoked Old Fashioned, the arancini, the lamb foreshank special, and the chef's creation - the chocate lava cake! An incredible meal from an incredible restaurant. Do yourself a favour and eat here, you won't be disappointed.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food and wo wonderful service.
Cosy restaurant with nice atmosphere for a date of family gathering. Comfortable as a location just coming for dessert and drinks just to relax on an evening after work. Friendly attentive wait staff ensuring your meal is satisfactory. Would be great if the menu is updated regularly as the items on the menu are pretty much the same as I last visit
Dine in
Excellent dinner menu, first rate service and customer care. Food was delicious. It’s a bit noisy inside and it is even worse outside - busy corner for outdoor seating under the skytrain.
First and foremost I appreciated the fact the our server didn't make me feel bad for needing to change things and corrected a simple mistake due to a misunderstanding and made things go smooth. All the employees from start to finish were capable confident as well as polite in an authentic way. I love the decor as well as the modern clean and chilled vibe not to mention spacious so less chances to bump into anything or anyone ????????????
Meal type
Had great food. Service was excellent. Maybe a touch over-priced Reservations required for sure on weekends
Went here for a birthday dinner and had a fantastic time. Delicious food with a concise menu, and very helpful staff. Cocktails were great as well. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I will definitely come back here.
This restaurant has menu prices higher than I'd like to pay for when eating out since I am a home cook myself. Interestingly, however, I ended up dining here multiple times and never felt I've wasted unnecessary money on food. Go figure.
This is THE Italian restaurant to eat at. Beautiful decor in a fantastic location in downtown New West. Servers were extremely professional and provided excellent service. The owner came by and took the time to get to know us which was a nice surprise. Food was amazing! I had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. I highly suggest you save room for desserts as they were all amazingly designed and very delicious. Ambiance, service, and food were perfect!!!
My partner and I came here for dinner, we were hesitant because the prices are on the higher side for modern Italian and compared to some places around. However we were BLOWN AWAY by the food, atmosphere, and service. Every server and waiter we spoke to was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was a busy night but they did not make us feel rushed at all. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very romantic.
The service was excellent. We shared a salad to start - excellent. My wife loves her meal (the meatballs with spaghetti). I had the linguine which I found a bit too salty. My only big complaint about the restaurant is the noise level. Very loud when they are busy. If you are looking to have a quiet meal then I recommend you find another restaurant but if you don't mind a higher than average noise level, this restaurant of worth the visit
Amazing experience! The food was excellent and came relatively quick. Ingredients used were very fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The service too was great and I couldn't recommend this place more! I'll be back for sure.
We went for brunch and the food was great and the service was prompt and professional. Thank you so much Raquel and the rest of the team for making it a special day. We will definitely be back!
The service from Raquel was very good! When I arrived everyone working there said a birthday which wad so nice .. we ordered salad, dinner. cocktail drinks, wine and a cappuccinos at the end still a birthday mention. Huh? Not a comp dessert or anything. My bill for 3 cocktails 3 glasses of wine and 1 bottle of wine 120.00 just saying.. it's not spaghetti factory or the keg. But show some appreciation especially through covid. 4 x not again.
I was so excited to ordered Piva through DoorDash since I was a regular dine-in customer before COVID. Got shocked and stoned once I opened the pizza box. A burnt and overcooked pizza?!!?? That’s obviously not as the same as what I usually have in the restaurant.. The whole goes to the green bin and I was the one who felt guilty cuz of the waste(?!)
Nice service and delicious brunch. Will definitely go back????
Pretty quiet (Tuesday evening in January). Hope they're busier than this usually because New West really needs a restaurant like this. Really nice space and decor. Wonderful service. Menu choices were good if not exceptional but very well prepared. All in all a great first visit - we will be back!
The most delicious pasta and pizza I have ever had … we only had space to try so much food definitely will be going back ASAP! I had really amazing service by Branden as well… not quite sure why people say the service is not good. Branden was attentive and had great customer service!
Piva Modern is all about the food and drinks, with a calming atmosphere. The appearance is up-market but the prices are fair, for the quality of their food. Artisan cocktails, VQA wines by the glass and local craft beer from a brewery just up the road. The blackmail milk stout was an excellent pairing, with my meal. I will definitely come here again, even though my drive is 45 minutes, one way. Thanks .....
Piva - downtown New Westminster - what a gem!! A fabulous dining experience. Its quite apparent how much pride and dedication goes into this establishment. The staff and service are top notch. Extra kudos to Chris and Farhan. Everything is so fresh - what a burst of flavour profiles on each dish. Your chef (chef's) rock! The crab cakes, the duck , the lingcod and pasta - seriously - to die for! This was our first time dining here. We plan on coming back soon. You are our "new" favourite dining spot. Thank you for making our 3 year anniversary special! Karen and Steve
Every single item ordered was fantastic. We tried the antipasto platter, steak, gnocchi, fritters, wild boar meatballs, bolognese, dinner burger, tiramisu sundae, lemon tart and gelato plus sangria and the coffee... Absolutely delicious! I was a little worried with such a diverse menu some items may not be fantastic quality but I was VERY wrong :) Wait staff was a little awkward but the food was amazing and I'll deal with awkward any day for this food!
I mean, how could I miss this wonderful place? It’s step away from my home. Literally recommend everything!!! The starter is a fried mushroom cheese ball, when you bite it, the cheese becomes cheeeeeeeese. Cocktails are so tasty and pretty. The lamb is woooow. Ribeye steak is wooooooow, (definitely need to try the truffle cream, fking good) the desserts are awesome. thanks, Piva, for the amazing food and vibe. I will definitely come back again and again and again and again. Really want to know the owner, such a wonderful human has a good taste about restaurant and business.
This was one of the best meals we have done take out from. Sorry it was a skip order, the heat was too much to take tonight. However, the food was great. The antipasto, that fig jam, the arrancini balls, the pasta... oh so good. What a great find and gem. We for sure, will be back and next time come in person. Cheers.
Really nice Vibe and great service. Clean 1 page food menu with applies, salads, mains, pizza and pasta. Cocktail menu is solid!
Piva has been on my to try list for quite some time. During the holidays, my family and I dined here. We had a great experience. We ordered from the brunch menu and everything was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, delicious food, great service, and lovely ambience. I will definitely come back to Piva.
This was the second time going to Piva and it was even better than the first. Food and drinks were on point, bar service was a bit slow, however the food and atmosphere were more than making up for that. The Duck and Fig pizza is by far the most unique combination I have ever had. Tony our server was awesome, so much so that he even went out of his way to find out all the ingredients to the sauce on our dessert just so we could figure what was making the texture of it so appealing. Highly recommend this as a place in New Westminster that people should check out.
I've been to Piva 3 or 4 times now and each time the service gets better and better. I'm celiac and they've always been very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. I had gone in May and the manager literally left to go to Safeway to get me gluten free crackers to go with my meal. Today, I went with some friends. He remembered me. Remembered where I sat. And that he had gotten me gluten free crackers. What does he do? Says, "I'll be right back!". Runs out and gets me crackers again! It was really sweet of him to do that. Really appreciate this kind of service. And the food is soooooo good. The service and the food will always have us coming back! Also a shout out to their sweet bus boy! He's a gem!!
OMG- a must try in New West! Best dinner I've ever had a long time. The food was OUTSTANDING. Love the decor & music. Thanks to the lady bartender who made us laugh and made us try some great new drinks. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Far surpassed my expectations.
Came in for a glass of wine after work, waitress brought me something.. not what I ordered and when I asked about it she very rudely replied that they were out of what I ordered so she brought me this. At $15 a glass you'd think maybe I could decide what I'd like ????♀️ she could have just apologized, but no just attitude.
My first impression upon entering: it's kinda like a cafeteria, open, cold. I had a reservation but they wouldn't seat us in a booth that looked reasonably comfortable, instead putting us at a tiny table barely big enough for 2 plates in the middle of the open room. Uncomfortable to say the least. I told the waitress that the table was unacceptable and that we were leaving, to which she said "OK". I assume that the service and atmosphere are on a par with the food, so I doubt that we'll try it again.
We visited Piva during our anniversary. The ambiance is too the point, amazing wine options and the best service. They gave us For Nonna as a surprise dessert, which was delicious. A must visit restaurant right near the News West Sky train station. I hope you enjoy as much as we did.
This place was better than I expected. I went during the happy hour and it was too good for the price. pasta sauce had really good flavour to it way better than any other pasta places I have been to.
The food is tasty .. looks good .. especially the pastas. Prefect temperature. And good ambience. Will return. We enjoyed our meal.
Two weeks ago we had the pleasure of experiencing an absolutely superb meal at Piva. Quite honestly one of the best meals we remember having at one of our family outings. There were nine of us dining, celebrating my daughters birthday. Arif, one of the managers at Piva, put together a phenomenal four course family style dinner for us which could not have been better....EVERYTHING was delicious. Our server Alex was awesome!!! Perfectly attentive, on the ball and had a great sense of humour. Piva also offers a great selection of wines and the Harpers Trail - Cab Franc, is now my new favourites! Our party left that night with not only full satisfied tummies, but a real sense that we had been spoiled. Thank you guys for the fantastic night. Looking forward to the next time. Cheers from the Witter clan!
Our waiter Ian was incredible and made the experience. His knowledge on wine was outstanding and he suggested a perfect bottle of wine to pair with our meals! Highly suggest visiting this spot! ☺️
The food was good but a little too much oil used. The service was great which saved it from a 3 star
Amazing food great atmosphere freindky fast service have already returned and will continue to do so
Delicious food with fresh ingredients and friendly staff!
Simple and modern decor. Came here for brunch. Food was good, presentation was nice. Music wasn’t overly loud, or crowded so a nice venue to meet up with friends.
We went for our anniversary and it was delightful! Love the space and our server was fantastic! Perfect wine pairings and delicious cuisine!
The restaurant has a wonderful ambience but more importantly the food was delish! We enjoyed their antipasto platter, duck and fig pizza, fetuccine, and gnocchi. Excellent service by our server Alex...we were celebrating a birthday and he brought out a piece of cake with a candle on top. That was really nice! I will be back for sure!
Piva has been a super welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Their food is delicious, the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable and the place is gorgeous. I love how they have upgraded the space to make it more sound proof. It has truly made a difference and it's so great to see a place take in feedback and then adapt as needed.
Finally got to try this place!! And it was AMAZING!! Had the seafood pasta. Very tasty.
Really positive experience here last Saturday evening. I arrived at about 8 and was able to get a table for two after about a 15 minute wait. If you're in a rush, making a reservation is recommended. The service was very friendly and prompt - my whole dining experience, which included two drinks, two entrees, and getting and paying the bill, only took about 45 minutes. The restaurant does have a pleasant, relaxed, romantic ambience, though, so you'll probably want to take your time. I ordered the Modern Italian Pizza, which I loved, and my girlfriend got their Linguine; while she wasnt a fan, I thought it was tasty. The poached egg on top is an interesting touch, but it's not for everyone. This is definitely somewhere I'd go back to - great spot for a date night, particularly with the nearby movie theater just a 5 minute walk away
Delicious food and friendly staff. I went for my birthday and all the staff were wearing masks and were keeping to the social distancing guidelines. Had the Arancini risotto ball with fried saffron as an appetizer - one of my favourites of the night - to start off and then ordered the Duck & Fig pizza as the main course. The pizza was quite good but I was left a bit disappointed because the fig jam was on a sweeter side and the savoury duck and pancetta didn't balance it out enough. My girlfriend had the Gnocchi and it was very subtle and light although I wished that they pan-fried the gnocchis instead of just boiling it for extra texture. Finally we had For Nonna as a desert and it was another highlight for me - crispy phyllo gave the dish some crunch and vanilla mascarpone and cherry compote wasn't overly sweet - highly recommend it. Overall, I left the restaurant happy and full with good first impression. I look forward to coming back and trying other dishes in the future!
Had a 4 course dinner here for my work christmas party, everything was delicious and great service! The atmosphere/vibe of this place is just gorg too. Must try for any foodie
Great location and atmosphere! Hostess seemed distracted but other then that the service was amazing. We were there for a private event maybe that's why we received special attention. Servers were very attentive and nice. Food was good, I will be returning as its a nice restaurant. Very modern and new, parkade located near skytrain.
It is beyond me that this restaurant has received good reviews from other people. The only way I can explain it is that those people were hired to do those reviews and/or the staff themselves wrote them. Sometimes, you go to a restaurant and the food is just average. You're not blown away by it. Piva's food wasn't just average - it was bad. I couldn't finish my dish and neither could my friends. Our dishes had absolutely NO FLAVOUR. It was like we were eating cardboard. The cooks must have never heard of SALT! I had a runny egg in my dish, which wasn't even runny. I don't believe Piva's cooks are actually cooks. They must have just found random people on Craigslist and given them some recipes to follow. On the positive side, the interior is gorgeous so your photos will look amazing. It's a pity that the food can't match that. Service was professional and friendly as well. EDIT (in response to Piva's post): I had the carbonara pasta, and the dish's signature creaminess was clearly missing. The pasta lacked creaminess and seasoning (!). To reiterate my previous point, it was lacking flavour immensely. No real cook would serve a dish like that, which led me to believe that the staff consists of amateurs rather than professionals. I will come back to try that dish again, and if I'm not served a dish worth my $20+ again, I will let you know.
Visited for the first time today with my boyfriend. We were treated well; the service is great and staff are really friendly. All the dishes we tried tasted fresh and simple, yet flavourful and they have a superb wine menu. The decor and ambiance is beautiful and they even had Casablanca playing near the bar! Traditional with a modern flare like their description says - definitely recommend!
Meal type
Modern Italian, with a great ambience. We stepped in after dinner for some dessert, and were pretty happy with the delectable menu the chefs there have put together (we got the sticky toffee pudding, the chef's special). The textures created were really innovative, and I'm looking forward to returning for the pizza (and probably more desserts). The service was great, and the place had a great vibe, with INCREDIBLE lighting and some exciting artwork.
doesn't have any straws. brought my son there and spilled half of drink... partly my fault but should have some options for children. Wife ordered a cocktail and alcohol was on the top and the mix was on the bottom. A stir Straw/stick would be a great option. food was good though but having not being able to enjoy the drinks as it is suppose to be made kind of took the experience away.
Good food. Good service. Helped that they brought some extra spice to our meals
Love the menu selection! Eggplant, duck and lamb have all been very delicious. Gnocchi so soft, spinach just cooked- not overdone or raw. Unique cocktail selection. Seasonal menu, haven't tried yet, but love the option. For Nonna dessert, just beautiful! Highly recommend.
Hands down the best restaurant in New West. The authentic and unbelievably amazing service is next level. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere is top notch. They really made my day with the experience they provided tonight. Thank you Piva!
Piva is the only real nice restaurant in the downtown New Westminster area, and it's completely worth it. They have a vegetarian menu available, and I ordered the Portobello steak, and the spices we're perfect. Just like a real steak. Fabulous interior and great modern interior. Great local BC wine choices. The only reason I rated this 4 stars was that they didn't have any local draft beers. Cans only. I get that wine is better with pasta, but how hard is it to get a keg or two?
Despite the recent restrictions, the covered and heated patio was a nice place to enjoy the good food and celebrate my birthday! Portions are generous and does not lack in quality. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, but what the heck! Think we ordered for a party of 4 when in reality, there were only 2 of us! To start: Caprese salad, Fried eggplant, Arancini (risotto balls) and Beef Carpaccio Note: there was a generous topping of caprese and tomato already for the Fried Eggplant starter, so would not recommend ordering both. Main: Sablefish salad with risotto Beef tenderloin pasta Wine: Synchromesh Cabernet Franc. Light with a fine and smooth finish. Blended well with the variety of foods we had. No room for dessert!! However, I would have made room if they had kept their Panna Cotta with poached pear on the menu. It was the best and I use to travel from Richmond just to satisfy my dessert craving! Love this place that exuberates a great ambience with friendly staff and lovely food and a fine selection of wines. Now, if they would only consider half price vino days...... ???? Until our next night out!! @bon.vivante @livianhealthy
Love the atmosphere of this place and the theme! Its conveniently located near the skytrain as well! The beef carpaccio is excellent and the pasta is delicious. Their staff is also polite and adhere to the social distancing guidelines. A must try in the quayside area!
have been solidly consistent since they've opened and remain a decent choice for casual italian fare. love their gnocchi and yet I still always end the meal feeling as though there was something to be desired. It tastes much like my own gnocchi dishes, which isn't a bad thing but makes me feel as though it could be less homestyle and a tad more special. also sta > za here
Pasta and pizza at this restaurant are 10/10. Owners are fantastic people and take pride in providing top notch food and service. Highly recommend.
Super impressed by this place. I tried their carbonara and few of the cocktails. They were all delicious. Definitely a more modern vibe to it. I would suggest it for a nice bday dinner or a work event. Staff is friendly and the service was good. We were a big party and I definitely appreciate that all the food came out at the same time.
Excellent service and delicious food. Very impressed!
Food was great. My dish was not to my liking... but I can see how people would love it. Flavour was full... just my taste buds preference. Service was awsome. Attentive but not a vulture stalking on prey.
We had a great time here! The decor is classy and modern. The food was delicious even though everything was a bit too salty for my liking. Would definitely come back again for any special occasion or casual meal!
I took my gf on a date there lately, and everything about it is absolutely marvelous. Just be prepared to pay extra more, its classy. A 5 oz red wine costs more than usual. However it was brilliant... And the food was magnificent. Location is also convenient since its 30 seconds walking from new west skytrain station. RECOMMEND!
Meal type
Wild boar meatballs were probably the best meat balls I've ever had. So fricking delicious. I will be back here again!
Super service, delicious food, great atmosphere. What else can you ask for? Oh, maybe extremely rigorous health and safety protocols! Yes they have those too!
Tasty place! Loved the upscale layout and location. I had the linguine and enjoyed it. The poached egg on top was perfectly made. Since this was for a work lunch, it was a bit pricy at $20 for my salad and pasta. Knew that going into it, though.
Very delicious we enjoyed every part of the meal. Neither of us were a huge fan of the cheese selection on the appy platter but all around a very interesting combination. Polite prompt service and good food. 4 v 5 stars as the pasta was served cold. Seems like it was made with the appy then left under a heat lamp until we were ready. Unfortunate as I believe the flavours would have jumped out a bit more at ready made temp but even so very good.
Food is just "okay". Which isn't a bad thing. It's a step above OSF across the street. But only a step. The bar staff however are exceptional. They're friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. I don't think I could ever sit at one of those little cramped tables every again. The bar is where the action is! Unfortunately, everything is overshadowed by how crazy loud it is in there. It's a highly unpleasant experience. Sound baffling! Get some!
I really enjoyed the food and drinks! I would love to visit again if I have special occasions. Such a lovely place, and nice service :) (Thank you Josh)
Food is excellent which is to be expected at this price point. Service however left a lot to be desired. Our waiter seemed like he truly didn't want to be there and took ages to take our order and bring the bill. It was not a busy day.
We went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday, beautiful place, although very noisy and crowded. The service was slow. Angela the waitress was very friendly and helpful, always smiling. Complementary breed. The crab cakes are expensive for the side and quantity. The desert was very good but small. The duck and fig pizza is delicious 100% recommended, you have to try it!!.
Piva is the best Italian I’ve ever had. I went there 2 days in as row for my birthday. 1st night with my friends and then 2nd night with my family. Fantastically beautiful decor and the food outshines the beautiful dining room every time.
Great atmosphere and people and oh, the food is…. Spectacular! Nicole our server, made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout the meal. From a killer Caesar Salad and buttery ultra-thin Carpaccio drowning in parmigiano reggiano and little fried capers (zippy salt pops on the tongue) for starters thru the main, a double lamb chop that was medium rare meaty perfection we turned to each other and said, "we've found our new favourite Italian restaurant." That's a mighty high bar in a city like Vancouver where we are already so blessed. Sorry 'Ask For Luigi' I may not be back for a while.
Great food. Loved the spacious layout of the restaurant. Will definitely be back again :)
Exceptional brunch and dinner! I loved the For Nonna dessert. Great service with friendly staff and a commitment to customer satisfaction. We'll be back again!
Venue is beautiful and the food is good but not great. Black bean pasta was good, calamari was very good. Unfortunately the draft beer was warm so I ordered a bottle instead. Fortunately that was cold enough. I would return and I recommend this place for a good dining experience.
Been looking for a restaurant with good food and atmosphere for a while, this is definitely one of them . The ambiance is classy and relaxed, and their service is phenomenal. Their servers were all very friendly and professional, and took good care of us. And the food was SO good, very rich and flavourful. We got a few things, I recommend the chicken dish, and Rigatoni.
Awesome place to visit, wish I had taken photos of my food but I was super hungry. The food was amazing. The staff were attentive and very polite. The manager came to check on us when our food was more then 15 mins. They have an accept all policy. Casual wear, LGBTQ folks, formal it's all great. Bit pricy but you definitely pay for both quality and quantity.
Absolutely fabulous place! Open design, very bright but still not cramped at all. Varied menu. The spring special Lobster Risotto was excellent, as was the lemon tart for dessert. Huge wine list, very attentive service, and excellent presentation. Will definitely come back again and highly recommend for an upscale lunch or dinner in New Westminster.
Five stars plus! Food was delicious. The wait staff was doting without seeming so.
This place is so so lovely. Beautiful decor, kind and friendly staff, delicious food (must try the mushroom pizza) and booze, and decent prices for a restaurant on that level. They offer happy hour until 6pm weekly (yay!) And when we went on a Wednesday afternoon, we were surprised with live jazz at 7pm (no extra charges!). Its romantic fun, and easily accessible (right beside new west station). Will definitely return!
The interior was very pleasing. It looked like an upscale restaurant! I got the prosciutto pizza, the crust was very thick compared to the size of the pizza base which I found strange. It was good but i ended up not eating the crust due to how much bread there was. The waitress threw my napkin in my lap which I found kind of strange but I'm sure she was looking out for my pants incase I spilled something ???? Good place to eat with a large group but parking isn't free.
Great modern interior, with a good amount of tables but doesn't feel crowded. Service was on point though a tad slow with getting the food out. Speaking of the food, fantastic dishes, very well executed. The linguini carbonara had a neat twist with the salsa verde and the poach egg added great richness to the dish. A healthy dose of guanciale was greatly appreciated! The cauliflower was properly deep-fried to a perfect golden brown, which you don't usually find in Vancouver. Gluten-free pasta available as well as half-sized portions for a lighter lunch.

We visited for our anniversary on Saturday. As always the food was fantastic. It was our first restaurant visit in the pandemic. We found they were doing an excellent job. We were greeted outside the restaurant where signs detailing their new safety procedures were shown for our review. They were well below the new maximum 50% capacity, with an extra foot or two in addition to the 2 meters required between tables. All staff wore masks and gloves which I saw them constantly change. I saw them very thoroughly cleaning tables between guests and they thoroughly cleaned everything including the chairs and adjacent walls if it was within reach of the table. The manager was also attentively watching and helping all staff comply with safety protocalls. There was also a staff member posted at the bathrooms to clean them between every guests.
Very nice atmosphere, and wonderful service. Our server was helpful, friendly, timely, and gave an excellent recommendation for wine pairings. The restaurant was almost full when we arrived (we had made a reservation) and we never had to wait for service, never felt rushed or ignored and each staff member was genuine in making sure we had a good experience. The food was excellent. The crisp gnocchi was a delight, great texture, right amount of weight, pillowy and soft on the inside. The lamb was well portioned, rich flavour, cooked tender and just the right amount of fat. The tiramisu was fantastic! The espresso was smooth, the chocolate orange brittle cut through with the right amount of zest, and the entire desert was beautifully displayed. Overall it was a lovely dining experience with great staff, and as someone who enjoys Italian food it was a rewarding evening. A great addition to New Westminster, and I would recommend it to everyone.
Very good food and service. I was impressed! The mushroom pizza and polenta fries were exquisite!
Dine in
Had my anniversary dinner here. The Ambience is absolutely great. The food was delicious. It's a bit on the pricey side but the Ambience and food taste makes up for that. You will not regret.
It's a gorgeous restaurant located on the ground floor of the Anvil Centre, right next to New Westminster Station. We ordered the Mediterranean Eggs Benedict and Fried Chicken & Waffles paired with few mimosas. The eggs benedict was delicious and I found the focaccia, rather than the usual English muffin to be a nice touch. I also loved the spices used in the fried chicken & waffles. Service was also great.
I had high expectations for this place after looking at the menu and seeing the reviews, however, my personal experience was something that strongly resembled a nightmare. We order appetizers and not only did it take nearly half an hour for our apply to show up, the waitress didn't hear us properly and brought us something completely different. She was nice enough to ring in our proper order and let us keep the wrong appy, but it was so bad that we couldn't even eat it. By the time we got our actual appy order, which was just the focaccia bread, it was cold and undercooked, I had to spit out the bite I took because it was just raw dough. We quickly told the waitress to cancel our main order because we couldnt imagine what disaster that might resemble and left. The staff was very pleasant and friendly, but without the food being up to par, it's a waste of time and money.
My favourite Italian restaurant in New Westminster. The food tastes great, however the portions sizes are quite small for the price. The ambiance is incredible, and I would highly recommend it solely for the great dining-in experience.
Popped in for an after dinner drink. Bar selection was excellent, bartenders were very knowledgeable and made a great old fashion. Great ambiance and decor, looking forward to coming back for dinner.
Great experience. They have hit the sweet spot between price, quality, quantity, service and ambiance. Certainly a cut above the rest. Much improved over my first visit after they first opened. I’ll be back much more often! Keep up the great work.

I went for Valentines Day. It was a nice ambience, but it is a tight space (maybe they squeezed in extra tables for Valentines Day?) The food was good, but not the best Italian food I ever had. What brings this to 4 stars is the dessert. That chocolate cake must've been the best chocolate cake I EVER had and I will be back for it. So decadent, rich, creamy, and the butterscotch sauce is the perfect pairing.
Had a great first experience at Piva. The atmosphere was nice, very cozy. The food was delicious. The cocktails were delicious. The staff were super friendly. Met the manager who was incredibly welcoming. Can’t wait to go back. Good job everyone!
My taste buds are still tingling! Piva served up amazing dishes for appetizers and entrees and capped it off with a delectable dessert called "For Nonna." Our server was witty and knowledgeable and the bussers and hosts were very attentive and courteous. I really liked the mocktail list and plan to make my way through all of them with many more visits! An all around fantastic dining experience!
Lots of menu options and beautifully designed restaurant. Fun drink selection. This was the cocktail special of the day - a spicy margarita.
Delicious food and excellent covid protocols. Service was a bit off - not sure if we had a new waitress or what. But had to ask for them to get the second round of mimosas
Pretty great, if you want proper Italian food, but also some place swanky comfortable and some interesting menu choices, this place is fantastic. My only complaint is you gotta pay for parking if you drive but with the skytrain across the street at new west literally, that's on you. Felt very safe pandemic wise, service was quick speedy and knowledgeable, and Ian who served me let me ask a bunch of dumb questions happily. Will come back again also a great place for a date or outdoor patio. I'm told they are working on bar seating so hopefully soon.
Brunch
Good food, nice service, give you free focaccia with your meal. Been here several times and will be back.
Great staff. Bright, open modern vibe. Fritters, olives were amazing. Perfectly spiced. Good wine list and excellent pairing suggestions.
We ordered the antipasto platter, duck and fig pizza and gnocchi. The platter and pizza was excellent, I high recommend these two dishes especially if you are a big fan of figs! I'm not sure if they make their own pizza dough but the pizza crust was phenomenal. The gnocchi was good, I wasn't particularly blown away by it. I think it could have been better if they substituted the chickpeas with chicken. Our server was fantastic too. Its not cheap but we'd come back here again
Service
Fabulous service, great staff, food was amazing. It's becoming a family tradition to eat here for birthdays because the culture is wonderful.
My Friends and I were at Piva today and the pasta was incredibly amazing.the staff were very polite and professional. overall fantastic experience. Ian was such a good Host!
I went there this past Saturday for brunch and had a really great Eggs Benny. For the better part of the time that I was there we were the only table occupied, that seemed odd for a late Saturday morning, but due to Covid people are still a bit hesitant to eat out.
Carpaccio is highly recommended, Caprese could use a more tender version of Mozzarella but it's hard to find it here. Interior is really nice and unique for New West.
Had my moms 65th birthday dinner here; absolutely perfect. We had a 4 course, set menu for the event, the food was wonderful. Server Jasmine was great, very attentive and knowledgable. Managing the floor that evening was Chris McFadden, he was superb. There was a live jazz duo that night, which was a lovely touch. I have also had brunch at Piva and it's great as well.
Great Italian place for reasonable price. Place was little loud but servers were super friendly and food was awesome! If you are looking for a romantic night out, keep this place for an option!
We went during happy hour, their happy hour menu was really good. The pasta was so good it was made with red wine sauce. And our calamari was very different in a good way. It was my first time having grilled calamari! I give this place a 2 thumbs up. ????????????????
This isn’t Mickey Mouse Italian. This is the real deal. Head chef sube learned from the best, and you will leave satisfied and wanting to come back for more Wide range of custom drinks, and the carpaccio is top notch. Staff were friendly, and most importantly the restaurant is immaculately clean. Cannot wait to return with friends and family. Going to bring my nonna, maybe she can learn a thing or two!
Great decor great food.
Mushroom pizza with truffle oil is delicious. Very nice quality ingredients overall.
We came here recently for dinner and were very pleased with the experience. The staff was friendly and were quick to accomodate us. The Christmas drinks menu was short but great (White Christmas was fantastic!). In terms of starters, we tried the Arancini and were delighted by the presentation and taste of the food. For dinner, The rigatoni pasta was flavourful but we found the Gnocchi to be quite bland. We definitely enjoyed the dessert (Chef's Creation) which was essentially a lava cake with beautiful plating. Overall, the experience was great and we'd definitely come back in the future.
Went for brunch. Service was welcoming and all round fantastic. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meals. Ample meter parking right around the corner. Took a look at dinner menu, planning on heading back with rest of my family and ordering family-style!
Amazing food, modern setting and atmosphere. Great service. A must fine for anyone looking for quality italian food/pasta
Great ambiance but the food could be improved. The beef carpaccio was served with this ruffles looking potato chip which I thought was odd. The meat was flavoured nicely. The cheese/meat board had a lot of variety. The duck pizza was just ok. Their pizza is not of the Neapolitan variety, it had an almost-too chewy crust which I ended up throwing away. A pint of beer here is also a bit pricey. I just think this is a new west establishment serving above average food while charging Vancouver dt prices.
Amazing food with nice service in New Westminster. The Arancini was so good so I had to eat two pieces, I normally eat one piece. The duck breast is surprisingly tender and goes well with the sauce! The wild boar meatball pasta is outstanding. Earlgrey creme brulee was so good too. I will definitely visit to Piva Modern Italian again????
Food cost is kind of expensive, pasta half 15/.full 34...but portion was not bigger..girl can finish full size.
This was our first visit to Piva and what a treat. Ian was our server, and he was amazing. The food was perfect, the decor and feel was so inviting. We will definitely be back!!!! Randy and Raquel
We gave Piva a try and thought it needs some improvements. We were seated pretty much immediately but the banquette had crumbs all over it. I don't mind that here and there but these were big flakes of something and anyone clearing the table would have noticed. Our server was attentive and helpful, no problems there at all. My husband ordered their signature drink which came out to what just looked like watered down bourbon. The server asked specifically how it was so we were honest. He took a new drink order no questions asked and made sure we weren't charged. My husband had the prosciutto pizza and said it was a 4/10 due to lack of flavour. I had the fettuccine which was really good and I enjoyed the wine the server recommended. We weren't in the mood for something sweet but unfortunately there was no cheese plate for dessert. Overall out experience was kind of ok. For the price I think Piva needs to step up their food and drink quality. I am not sure I'd go back until I hear that's the case
Amazing! Tha staff was fabulous. Kind and accompanying. The food was delicious! From appetizer to dessert, I ate it all! Highly recommend ????
Beautiful restaurant inside. Really enjoyed the cocktail I had. Server was relaxed and gave us our space. Octopus wasn't as tender as I expected but flavour was good, sweet and smoky. Polenta was amazing, sauce and pine nuts were a nice touch. Duck was fine, kale had nice rosemary taste but no seasoning otherwise.Gnocchi lacked seasoning but the lemon and artichokes helped season the dish when eaten together. 3 dishes and 2 drinks for over $100, definitely couldn't eat here regularly. Convenient location by the train though.
First time dining at Piva. The restaurant and atmosphere is lovely. The server is very attentive. We had the duck and linguine. My husband tried their smokey old fashioned- it was very tasty. Overall dining experience were good. I enjoyed a lot. It's a nice dine out place in New Westminster.
Taste: 3/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Visited this upscale place in New Westminster. The place was full and very busy for a weekday dinner. I ordered lobster resotto, duck, polenta fries, and a dessert. Lobster resotto looked great and I loved how it had a big piece of tail. As for its taste, it was bit sour and had too many green beans that ruined taste. It did not taste like seafood dish to me. Polenta fries were fantastic. With or without the salsa sauce, both of us enjoyed them very much. Duck was okay but nothing impressive. Dessert has great presentation and it was tasty. Overall, it was a good experience but two main dishes were bit less satisfying for me.
Service was amazing! Food was absolutely delicious. Definitely will go again. As assumed, the pasta was made perfectly and portions were more than enough to fill up a larger human like myself.
Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Amazing service. Just out of this world!
The best restaurant in New Westminster? Very possibly! My husband and I come here all the time, for special as well as non-special occasions. Happy hour, brunch, birthday dinner, or simply just for the wine. Both the food and the wine are fantastic. "For Nonno" is a spicy pasta dish which my husband always orders while I go for the Duck which is always perfectly cooked. We are not dessert people, but a visit is never complete without having the For Nonna dessert which is a beautiful mix of vanilla mascarpone, crispy wafers and cherry sauce. It's very unique and very addictive too. There are many great reasons to visit this restaurant, but one of the main reasons for us is the Sommelier. Chris has a true passion for the wine, and created the extensive wine list himself. He is very knowledgeable and always has great recommendations for us, and new things to try. Some of the most memorable wine experiences we have had has been because of him. All there's left to say is: Come for the food, stay for the wine, and repeat.
Definitely will be back, we ordered the aracini, de Mare pasta and the wild noar meatball pasta. Staff was very friendly.
Great atmosphere, excellent service & food! Had a wonderful dinner with my husband & mother-in-law. Prompt & attentive server, drinks & food came in a very timely manner … everything was delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.
My fiancée and I went here the first week it opened and were blown away by how well the waiters knew the cocktail and food menu. We went back tonight and one of the owners remembered us and came over to chat. Our server, Jasmine, was amazing and the food and cocktails were delicious. We were stoked to hear they have brunch and will be back frequently. The owner also gave us free dessert which was super nice of him. Awesome experience. Hats off to the chef and staff!
Went here once just for drinks and have since gone back for a romantic night out AND DID IT DELIVER! The staff was excellent, we were warmly welcomed, our server was on point, the manager? Owner? even came by to ask how our evening was going. The main courses were good. Their appys were wonderful. The drinks are top notch and the desserts were so yummy. I cannot wait to go back!
Wild boar pasta and rose sangaria was amazing. I don't usually rave about pasta in vancouver ????????
Very beautiful reaturant, washroom, and environment. The food had a nice modern take to it, the pizza was not bad tho some of the flavors were overpowering
Wow, my expectations were high walking into Piva and I was not disappointed! To begin, their COVID protocols are rock solid and I felt safe throughout the dining experience. Brilliant selection of creative and traditional cocktails and local craft beer. Our crab cakes and antipasto were fresh and very tasty, and our duck and fig pizza was wonderfully creative and cooked to perfection. Tony and the entire serving staff were immaculate throughout and even gave the girlfriend a dessert for her birthday! Can't recommend Piva enough for a romantic night out in New West.
Dine in
Delicious food, great service. The duck and fig pizza was the star for me! Lots of options to share and everything was tasty.
We met friends for dinner here recently and had a really enjoyable night. The food was delicious, especially the avocado burrata starter. Alex was our waiter and was he friendly, efficient and knowledgeable with the food and wine menu.
Nothing special about the food (table of 8 and we all thought the same), literally everything was under seasoned. We were the first table in the restaurant at 4pm on a Sunday and had to flag over our server multiple times to get drinks, and then again to order. Food was edible but not tasty. Waiter forgot dishes and drinks, we had to re-request. We warned the waiter at the beginning that 2 of the 8 people needed to leave by a certain time (we allowed for 1.5 hours for dinner) and had to flag him down again for their bill. He then served/took orders from multiple new tables prior to getting the rest of the table our bills. We also advised in the beginning each couple would pay together, yet it took him near 15 mins to bring the rest of the table's individual bills. Not worth your money or calories.
My husband I dined in last Saturday for our anniversary celebration. First, we were amazed with the design of the restaurant and atmosphere. Second, our server Ian provided an excellent and profession service standards. Third, food was delicious and price was reasonable for the value. We ordered duck and Vongole as main course, calamari steak as starter and tiramisu sundae as desserts. All highly recommended and we will come back again. Also will recommend this restaurants to our friends.
Have friends in NewWest and often arrange to meet downtown for dinners due to lack of selection. Piva changes that as it provides a terrific atmosphere and menu locally. Have now been a number of times for both dinner and lunch and have not been disappointed with the food. I have had the aoli pasta a couple of times and it is terrific. The deserts are also terrific. I had the homemade ice cream with espresso on the last visit and it should not be missed.
They say it’s the best downtown restaurant outside of downtown, but I would say that phrase would not be doing it justice. This restaurant exceeds “downtown” restaurants but in the heart of New Westminster this place is a gem. With Italiana family influences the gastronomy will speak for itself how authentic (and delicious) the food tastes. I enjoy the wines they have exclusive to this establishment (really enjoyed the “white” {visually the wine is golden} from Umbria as well as the bottle of Crognolo). I can not wait to visit this fantastico establishment again and I urge you to visit (make sure to have reservations as this place is really busy).
Gnocchi and modern Italian pizza. I highly recommend them!
Service
The De Mari was fantastic with the alferdo sauce I would have it again. The table was small, the timing was off between apatizer and mail course. And I had dirt in the water.
The place is beautiful, the service was great and their food was amazing. I tried their duck and the sauce was out of this world. For dessert, For Nona is one of the best desserts I've had in a really long time. It has everything I look for on a dessert. If you only can have one dish here, try For Nona.
My partner and I made a reservation at this place for dinner and it was mostly good. The food was delicious and the restaurant has an interesting atmosphere. The staff are friendly but service was lacking when we were there. It seemed like there were too few servers for a Friday night. I had a feeling our waitress was overworked. Menus were slow to arrive at our table/our dishes could have been cleared from the table sooner/etc. This was our first visit, and we will probably be back one day, but not anytime soon.
We went for lunch and had good service. The food was good but I found the selections for lunch were limited unless you wanted something big. I had a salad and found it a little overwhelming.
Can't go wrong with Piva. Delicious, fresh food, great service always. Also, the playlist is always pleasant and they make sure you're having a good time. My husband and I love the Happy Hour menu here, it's our favourite (the mushroom pizza tastes like heaven).
Amazing food & drinks, the service was amazing and the staff was so welcoming. The pizza was perfect for sharing and so tasty ???? will come by again!
Stylish and modern restaurant with one of the best chicken and waffles in town. Homemade waffles were crispy and soft with crispy flavourful chicken. COVID-19 restrictions in place with distanced tables and staff wearing masks. Individual washrooms with beautiful gold fixtures. Service was pleasant and not obtrusive.
Love this place, their pizza is delicious. Location couldn’t be better as it’s across beautiful Quayside. Friendly staff as well
Piva is by far my favourite Italian restaurant not only for the food but the atmosphere and staff as well. Every time we’ve been the service was outstanding. I highly recommended trying, the wild hen and new pasta on the menu was to die for!
Service
So I took I brought my girlfriend to this restaurant for her birthday as there was a bit of buzz about the new Italian restaurant in town. I was intrigued when we walked in through the door to look at a beautiful dinning area. Very bounce and open space with high ceilings, beautiful lighting and enormous wrap around windows, just exquisite however things turned sour pretty quick. The server kept talking up the restaurant saying that it’s been a grand success and has been the best restaurant in town since it opened in November 2017 but seemed like he didn’t know much else that seemed to be important in a restaurant such as the menu which got me to think otherwise!!! I asked him a few simple questions on what came with a specific meal and how they were plated and because of my allergies I wanted to know about specific ingredients in a salad in which case he had to ask the chef every question I fired at him. I had also asked him about the plate of the day which was followed by, you guessed it, let me ask the chef. He returned with a piece of paper with an attached green painters tape to the top of it and offered me to read it. Ordered my food and was impressed by the risotto balls. The rest was shocking. Seemed like there was a good menus and description but the actual course was off. The food tasted very bland and not like any other Italian restaurant I’ve tasted before. I don’t want to get into detail but all I can say is that I was dissatisfied however given the circumstances that it was a new restaurant I was willing to try it again. So I did. But the next time was for a drink at the bar. I ordered a negroni and my friend ordered a Manhattan in which when it came to the table, we couldn’t tell which was which. They both came in the same glass, same ice cube, same berry and of course the same color. The difference? the flavor. Let’s just say, we grabbed the bill and we left to another bar(which I will not mention here due to respect to my growing neighborhood restaurant), which made us a few of the finest drinks at a reasonable price and satisfied our needs
One of the finest restaurants outside downtown Vancouver. Excellent food and service. If you want something less expensive the pizzas are very good. The dessert is one of the highlights at Piva, the "For Nonna" is spetactular and the Tiramisu Sunday amazing. If you are a wine person, they offer a very good selection too. Restaurant like Piva makes the neighborhood of New West better
I love this place we come here for dates. Great atmosphere! Awesome food and good gf choices, the staff take the time to know your allergies. Love the pastas. The drink menu is awesome too.
The food here was delicious, but the server is so unfriendly. Asian people don't recommend coming to restaurants here. There is a racist server here. It would be very unpleasant to be treated by her. She'll look down on you with your pronunciation. So I don't want Asian people to come to this restaurant. We asked for syrup in the coffee, but she laughed at my pronunciation. We would have chosen it if you let us know that there are various types of syrup, but we didn't tell them and brought only honey and left, saying, "Say sweetener next time." I was angry to see her sarcastic look. So I asked her to call the manager, but she brought another server to solve this problem. I was so angry at her attitude that I couldn't finish my food. The situation was, by all accounts, felt nothing more than disregard for Asians. I will never visit here again, but I leave a review like this because I don't want all Asians to be hurt here.
I had the duck with taters, topped with an incredible gravy. Best of all was the meatball starter dish
We felt rushed from the time we sat down until we left. I understand the 2 hour limit, however, rushing guests throughout the dining experience isn't enjoyable.
Amazing food! Classy restaurant, yet it feels comfortable and inviting. Perfect place for a date night. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer, and had the dinner burger and fettuccine for mains and an affogato and tiramisu for dessert. The food came quickly and was perfectly hot. The crab cakes were really tasty. A nice rich crab taste, and the seasoning was very pleasant and not overpowering. The dinner burger was great, especially for an Italian restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. No surprise, but the pasta was delicious. The prawns were slightly overcooked, but the scallops were pretty close to perfection. With everything incorporated into the pasta, it was one incredibly enjoyable and delicious. The tiramisu was amazing. Beautiful rich flavours, and the chefs got creative with the presentation. Overall a great experience. I would highly recommend eating at Piva Modern Italian!
We came here for Lunch on a Saturday and the food as well as service was very good. Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. I’m a vegetarian and had plenty of options to choose from. Would definitely recommend it!
I was there with 5 friends for dinner. Absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to. Service is first rate. Food is delicious -- everything from wild boar meatballs, risotto balls, fettuccine, linguini, pizza. Not a less than perfect item on the menu. Will return many times.
I had dinner with my husband for my birthday. Food and service was excellent. Really enjoyed our dinner out.
Amazing Forno thin crust pizza ???? combined with an genuine and classy atmosphere. The staff were wonderful as we sat at the bar and enjoyed many of the tasty items from the cocktail menu. We recommend the Fungi truffle pitz with truffle aoili on the side.
Took my GF there for her birthday ????, absolutely loved it , atmosphere and staff where amazing, definitely going back ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such a demeaning experience. Never have I ever been treated like a child in any establishment. The waiter judged me on my hoodie & sneakers & had the audacity to not only speak to me & my party like children who have never ate at a restaurant before, but also brought the menu for non alcoholic drinks unprompted. Making side remarks about not having ID, and did not give us even decent service at best. He would avoid eye contact with our table & had a rude demeanour & attitude with us the whole time. There was cheese on my food & I’m lactose intolerant & asked to have it without. They obliged. But our waiter felt the need to come by our table & treat us like children, speaking down on us for “wasting their food”. Wow. As a restaurant rated 4+ stars I’m absolutely appalled. The food is good, but I have had better customer service from McDonald’s and will never come back here. Neither will anyone I know.
Service is great here. The first time I came here i enjoyed the pasta dish. I tried the pizza twice on both occasions and the crust was so unbelievably hard that it made it offputting. Flavors are great but the crust makes up like 40 percent of the pizza. I tried the Linguini I found the aged cheese overpowering but the flavors of the dish was good.
A great place to enjoy delicious pasta. We went to Piva Modern Italian prior to our movie and their service was friendly and efficient. The pasta dishes we ordered (Di Mare and Gnocchi) were prepared well with just the right amount of flavour (and it wasn't too salty or greasy - for me I just can't eat food that way). I recommend trying this nice restaurant.
I met 3 of my girlfriends here for dinner tonight. I keep coming back to Piva for their outstanding, friendly service and great food. Our server was so friendly and gave us the best service! We had the fettucine, mushroom pizza, beet and kale salad and some brussel sprouts and cauliflower to share. All outstanding. I will keep coming back to Piva for all these reasons!
Good service but food was decent. The spaghetti which came the steak wasn't cooked well... hard.
Awful experience at this restaurant. The food was good, props to the chefs, but I could not enjoy it as the waiter was extremely rude and made the whole table uncomfortable with the way he talked down to us and made us feel like we did not belong there. Our whole table lost our appetite because we were so upset on how the waiter treated us. He ruined our meal and experience. I can't believe a restaurant rated so highly has such terrible customer service.

My husband and I just celebrated our 51st Anniversary there! Could not have been more pleased! The decor, ambience, food, the service was excellent. The manager/owner came by to see our needs were being met and ended up gifting us our dessert.....Nona's which was so delicious! Thank you for your kind words, congratulations and making our night special. Will definitely be back!
I came here on the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed other than with the service at first. The place is stunning and the food and presentation is amazing. The first server was a little bit slow getting to our drinks and our orders. She eventually had to clock out and we had a new person take care of us named Zaldy. He was fantastic we had briefly mentioned that the other server was a little slow and he brought us a glass of champagne and a little dessert which was completely unexpected. Their customer service is on point and I will definitely be coming back. It's great to see a place like this in downtown New West.
Was there with mymbig group of friends tonight. Our server Angela was very helpful and she paid close attention to small details. Her effort exceeded my expectations, hope she keeps up the great work. Rest of the team are super efficient and work together closely as well. *two thumbs up* Absolutely love the calamari steak, crab cake and Duck main course.
Ordered pizza it was ok like three stars, but my wife's pasta was sub par she hated it one star.
Excellent food and cocktails with a great atmosphere. Super attentive staff that are always friendly.
Great food, upscale atmosphere and extensive wine selection. A gem for sure!
Overall I'd give it a "not horrible" out of "amazing". After having a reservation it took us about 15min to get a table. For appetizers the meatballs and arancini were tasty although the bread was very doughy. The servers suggestion for wine was excellent. The wait time for the meal was longer than I would have liked and at first I was brought the wrong meal. My proper meal, the lamb, was brought out fairly quickly. The lamb was great, brussel sprouts were okay and the gnocchi was mediocre and didn't help balance the meal at all. Nothing was done to address the fact that I was brought the wrong meal. My girlfriend felt slightly ill after having the linguine. Realistically I'll probably to go back since it's about 200m from my house, but I wouldn't travel more than 500m for the experience.
We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The decor is trendy and hip, a little bit loud but tolerable. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the lamb and it was delicious. Will definitely go back again.
Having just attended my company's annual Christmas party here, I can't say enough good things about Piva! Every course was delicious, and there was plenty of it to go around. I had heard wonderful things about the service here, and am happy to confirm that it exceeds expectations on every level. From the moment I initially contacted them about hosting our event, to the many, many questions I had for managing partner/wine director Chris, to the attentive and friendly servers who took care of our party of about 40, I never doubted that we would be in good hands. Thank you for a lovely evening, Chris and the rest of Piva!
My husband daughter and I had the best Sunday brunch here today...the food, drinks and service are Decadent.. Thank you Chris and the team there...❤❤❤
Lovely evening at Piva. Every staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming. Our server Tony made our night perfect. The mushroom pizza was our favorite. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! (feels like Yaletown but friendlier and less pretentious)
I was there yesterday for my birthday and the dinner was delicious! The stuff was very friendly and very helpful with giving advice on wine and food menu! It was my second time in that restaurant and I really would recomend it!
A couple of my friends and I went to this place last night. The environment of the restaurant was nice; however, the whole impression from the evening was totally ruined after a few mistakes made by the restaurant. We have been patiently waiting for an order: 2 Carpaccios ($16 each, I believe) were ordered to share between 3 ppl plus the main course for each person, my friend ordered pasta with no onions, she specifically asked to make sure there would be no onions. When we got the starts there was a piece of glass (a chip from the plate) in one of the Carpaccios, which neither of us noticed until after I chewed on it. I got the closes standing waitress’ attention and pointed it out/ gave her that piece of glass and my friends pointed out the chipped side of the plate white I went to wash my mouth, she said the dish will by replaced right away. After about 10-15 minutes the main course arrived with onions in my friend’s pasta and no Carpaccio. We pointed out that the starter was not here yet and turns out our waitress did not know about the issue whatsoever… We pointed out the onions and she was sorry, she did not know that onions were one of the ingredients. In order to solve this problem, the staff said that they will remove both items from the bill, but when we got the bill, there were charges for 2 Carpaccios split between us. We asked her to check, she said we were charged for one only but due to computes error the name of the dish showed up on the bill three times. We asked her to check again, because the numbers did not match. She said the same thing. When we asked the third time and said that it does not add up she actually noticed that she was wrong and just gave us $5 back each (of course we paid first and then we checked/asked, well we were not expecting there to be more issues/mistakes). I truly believe there is a better way to handle similar situations. Yes, it happened that the plate chipped, but shouldn’t you bring a complimentary dessert at the very least? Someone actually chewed a piece of glass but and all you do is remove the dish from the bill (unsuccessfully, we were still charged and given $5cash back)? At least my friend wasn’t charged for pasta… Thus, all together, it wasn't a great experience and I don't feel like I would recommend this place.
Wonderful dining experience. Our server Zack, was a phenomenal host and provided us with exceptional service. The simple modern interior design is a very nice compliment to the rich tasting food. Stepping away from the table to the washroom, there is no lack of design either; brass finishes with a well-lit and clean space makes the entire visit a joy. The duck main was incredible and the dessert For Nonna was heavenly. Loved it.
Meal type
Delicious food, they also have a specific vegetarian/vegan menu (with lots of options!) that you can request! It would be rad if there was a vegan dessert aside from sorbet, but any place with at least one vegan dessert is doing better than most!
Came in celebrating a belated Valetines Day dinner with my girlfriend. Thankfully made a reservation because it was extremely busy (Friday night). Anyways the customer service was excellent. From the moment we were first greeted until we walked out. The atmosphere was fantastic, waiter was always checking up on us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The food was absolutely great. I ordered steak (not very Italian I know) but it was perfect and is probably one of the best I've ever had. We had ordered dessert and the waiter gave us a complimentary couple of glasses of dessert wine. It was truly a fantastic experience! Will recommend Pira and definetly will be back for more.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Piva. The food was outstanding and our waiter Farhan was amazing. He was extremely attentive and thoughtful. We were celebrating our daughters birthdays and he surprised us at the end of the meal with dessert. I would highly recommend Piva for a great Italian meal. We will be back soon!!!
It was my wife’s B’day and I booked the table with her friends in 4 days advanced but they managed to get it after 25 mins and then their server was so rigid that she was not willing to make any changes to the food being ordered like toppings, etc. We specifically requested a cake while reserving the table and they gave us a desert. They simple ruined the whole occasion. It seems they don’t know how to satisfy their customers and are in a wrong business. We are never going back and will never recommend to anyone.. ????????????????
I had a get together with friends for lunch and had the loveliest time! Farhan, our server, was so attentive and kind. The cheese platter and drinks to start were amazing, I had the Fettuccine and enjoyed it as well. We all left warm and extremely satisfied. Definitely the best restaurant along Columbia Street.
Piva is such a welcome chic restaurant to downtown New Westminster! The pizzas and other appetizers are delicious, as well as an extensive wine selection. Service was above and beyond friendly and helpful.
I was very happy with the service that my brother and I received. We got the Wild Boar pasta which I was disappointed by, I felt it tasted like mushroom soup with meatballs and pasta. It was quite disappointing.
Amazing. Came here with my girlfriend and the food and service was incredible. Definitely recommend for date night. Try the wild boar pasta and crab cakes!
Service
Firstly, the restaurant itself is gorgeous. Nothing glaringly overstated while still having the right amount of pretty to make you feel like you're in a comfortable yet high-end restaurant. Our server Angela was wonderful as well. Very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The prawn and scallops pasta was really tasty, but the best part about it was the amount of prawns and scallops you receive! The prosciutto pizza was just alright. Way too much tomato sauce, not enough prosciutto, so that missed the mark slightly. Cocktails were tasty and well-priced. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
Fantastic experience - excellent food and staff. We were here to celebrate my son's grade 7 grad, and he accidentally knocked a glass over and smashed it - the staff were amazing, he was embarrassed, but the staff made him feel like it was nothing and didn't let the incident ruin his celebration. Grateful to the staff for making it a pleasure all around!
Good food, good wine! I chose the bad company... but the resturant made it a good night. We talked about mini pigs as pets! The server and I, not the date... the meatballs are amazing and the wine list is exceptional.
Piva is our go to place for celebrations and when we returned for our anniversary dinner a couple weeks ago, they did not disappoint. Their service is always top notch and the place has a modern ambience. Their pasta dishes, like the vongole, are extremely flavourful. The dessert recommended by the server (for nonna) was so well-presented and delicious. Would definitely recommend to all locals and visitors!
First time at this restaurant and ordered some appies to share and 2 mains for a friend and I. The appies came on time but we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our mains to arrive. Turns out our server (who had not approached our table since taking our appy plates away) completely forgot about our table. We had to ask the food runner to check on where the server was, who eventually apologized for the mistake. The mains more than made up for the service though, as it was one of the best pastas I've ever had. The free dessert (chocolate cake and lemon tarts) that they gave us to make up for the blunder was also ridiculously good. Had it not have been for the service issue, I would've given 5 stars easily.
The food was great. We sat pretty close to the host. They were quite talkative. Didn't really hear my date throughout the dinner
We liked it. Although we went for brunch and got there as soon as the place opened and it was empty the service was quite good. One of the things I wish more restaurants would get is the water service. As soon as we sit down a waitress is filling our water glasses and leaves a container of water on the table. Boom! I hate having to chase around servers for water. The food was quite good and reasonably priced. . I had a really American breakfast item that reminded me of Los Angeles that you rarely see in Canada, chicken & waffles. So I can't really comment on the rest of the menu I didn't examine it too closely. My wife really enjoyed her food. There was a good drink menu we had a nice mimosas. The service was great. I think there is a culture of excellence there. I would have to come back when it's busy to see for myself but we were very well taken care of. It's all glass in there and quite open so I could see it being fairly loud with a crowd. They may want to install some acoustic absorption panels from the ceiling. We will return.
Love this place, best meatballs I think I've ever had, casual yet elegant atmosphere. Recently moved to New Westminster from downtown and a restaurant like this was sorely needed. I do wish they had some slightly cheaper wine options.
Server was great. Bolognese was salty, dessert was fantastic but was really just a brownie. No calamari, but calamari "steak". For an Italian restaurant I hoped for more taste, less salt, and more affordable wine. Atmosphere was good and alive.
Okay, you might be asking why only 2 stars for what appears to be one of New Westminster's more upscale restaurants? Trust me, it has nothing to do with the food, nor does it have anything to do with the table service my friend and I would have received had we been seated. In all fairness, our first visit was lovely. Sadly, I can’t remember the date. December 30, 2021 would have been our second visit to Piva, located in the Anvil Center, next to the New Westminster Skytrain Station. Based on the experience we both had previously, we felt it would have been a nice way to round out what has been a trying year for us both. At about 12:45 on December 30, 2021, we entered Piva. Sadly, we were not greeted with a friendly “Hi, give me just a moment and I’ll be right with you” or even “Hi there, might you have a reservation?” My perception was that the hostess simply snapped at us nearly demanding if we had a reservation. We answered truthfully, that we did not. This was not the issue and didn’t appear to be one. So far as I could see, they did not appear busy. In, what I felt, was the same snippy tone, we were then asked for the vaccine card and ID. We both have this. My ID is physical, but expired. My friend’s ID is a photo of her passport, something she wisely leaves at home unless traveling. My friend and I have not had any trouble in any other establishment showing the ID’s we have. I was fine, but the hostess flat out refused to accept my friends photo of her ID. There was no attempt at an accommodation, or to triple check with the manager to see if an exception could perhaps be made. Sadly, the hostess’ approach to us didn’t change through out the entirety of the encounter. I accept she was simply doing her job, but I must admit; there are ways and then there are ways to make even a rejection as pleasant an experience as possible. Again, my perception, but being abrupt is not the best way to leave a positive impression. So, with the hostess unwilling to budge, or attempt to be the least bit compassionate, we left. Walking down the street away from Piva, my friend and I were left to speculate on what other issues may have been at play, hidden behind the hard and fast rule of “you must have physical ID”. I couldn’t help but feel that part of our initial treatment may have been racially motivated (both my friend and I are white and female) I sincerely hope this is not the case. My friend and I were not dressed to the 9’s, but we didn’t look bad; it’s possible this may have been part of it. We didn’t have reservation, but we didn’t have one the last time we dined at Piva either, so I could rule that out. Sadly, due to this most recent experience it is highly unlikely my friend and I will be back.
Easily the best Italian restaurant in the city. I was quite nervous to venture out post-covid, but their staff was professional and I love the changes they've made to make their guests feel safe and welcomed. I recommend the duck.
New ,nice ,modern Italian restaurant. Much needed in New Wetminster. Food is good although not impressive. Portions are reasonable but people with bigger appetites, will find them small. The service on the other hand is fantastic. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive from rhe moment we walked in to the moment we left. What my group and I did not like is that, it is very noisy. It is a very modern place. Nice decor All glass. Not really a "sound proof place".Too noisy for a restaurant. It was very busy also. Overall, it is a nice, casual place to go to. Hopefully will last. New Westminster desperately needs more options when it comes to restaurants. Will probably go back . Would like to try their pizzas. They looked very appealing.
Classy and modern. The food and cocktails were great. This restaurant is worth what it costs, especially if you're looking for fine dining that's also a bit casual. I would definitely come back here.
Disappointed in their performance: poorly created dishes, pushy waiters, and minimal effort to make the experience special. I had called and reserved for a double birthday dinner for my friend and I. No desire to try them again.
Delish! Very clean. Gnocchi was nice, fritters >Arancini, espresso was only thing holding it back from perfection.
Great food great service!! Can't wait to go back
Amazed by the food and the dessert woahhh so good! Expensive but it value the price because very tasty and nice plate! Servers fast, funny and good knowledge of what its on menu and drinks!
Majority of food there are so tasty and prices are affordable! We found their dessert too sweet...
We stopped in for an early supper and ordered the caprese salad, charcuterie board and the lobster risotto. Excellent flavors with the food. The risotto was cooked perfectly. One of the best caprese salads we have had. The charcuterie board needed a mustard type spread along with the fig spread. Would have liked to see a chicken dish on the menu besides what was in the pasta selection. Great selection of wine by the glass which is really nice to find. The glass we ordered was very fresh. The service was prompt and professional. The kitchen was quick with our order for a busy Friday late afternoon. Despite the casual dress many patrons were wearing, this is fine dining quality food. I completely disagree with the few negative comments regarding price in some of the reviews. If we want options like this outside of having to drive into Vancouver then I will gladly pay the price!
Dine in
Came here today for the first time after my girlfriend raved about it. Went there for brunch and was not disappointed. It was really good! We had the Chicken and Waffles, Merguez Sausage Ragoût,for dessert - "For Nonna" and a few mimosa's. Everything was on point and I highly recommend all those dishes! Atmosphere was really nice. Everything was super clean and tidy. Staff was super friendly! I met Chris today and he is a super nice guy! We will definitely be coming back and bringing our friends!

The duck and lamb dish are excellent! Will go back with my family!
We went here for my birthday dinner. Has a very nice ambiance and our waitress was really warm and attentive. Family split a bunch of the appetizers but I really loved the carpaccio the best. Had the lamb as my main and loved it too, especially the gnocchi they served it with, so tasty! We told her it was my birthday but they kinda goofed and put the candles on my brother's cake slice instead of with my tiramisu but that's just funny to me.
Lovely Italian food, I asked my food to be made spicy. Instead of adding chilli flakes like I do in most restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of spice I desired. The man who attended to my table was warm, friendly and very personable.
Delicious food. Great place. Perfect place for a date.
Out of all the Italian restaurants I have been in the Vancouver Area, this restaurant with there service and food has been by far the best I have experienced so far. The modern Italian pizza packed so much flavor as the crust was crispy and clean (cooked perfectly), and when paired with my smoked old fashion, it was nothing short of magnificent. Even the service was phenomenon, which blended so well with the atmosphere. If you are looking for a wonderful evening out or are just passing through the New West Area, I highly recommend that you make a stop here at Piva Modern Italian.
Very poor service. Knowing it was Valentine's day they did not plan properly, they ran out of few things listed on the menu. Ended up getting fries (mountain of) the only side for my duck, talk about fine dining. All in all poor management, and anyone planning a special night please don't go there.
We came here on Saturday for a Birthday Brunch as we had been wanting to check out Piva for a while. The first thing you notice when coming in the door is how beautiful and light the space is! Atmosphere is an understatement, the very elegant and modern look is gorgeous! But enough about looks, let's get on to what people really care about..the food! And what good food it is! It may seem weird to have a "Breakfast Risotto" and a "Modern Italian Pizza" for breakfast but I assure you it is worth the strangeness. The risotto is made with real Pramigiano Reggiano, a perfectly poached egg, Italian Sausage and spinach and it was delightful! My one quibble would be that I think some fresh cracked black pepper on top would have completed the dish perfectly, but I digress. The Modern Italian Pizza blends together the flavors of game hen, capicola, caciovallo, and onion on top of a Pine nut Pesto base and is an amazing combination of salt, flavour, and deliciousness. Overall for our first time there Piva stepped up and delivered, we will definitely be returning to try the dinner menu and I would highly recommend stopping here next time you are in the neighborhood!
Service
Second Review (February 2018) Tried Piva again and it was night and day compared to my first experience. The food and wine was terrific. Especially the gnocchi dish which had diverse flavours because of the different ingredients. We had very responsive and personable staff who were serving us left and right. One of the owners came to our table, described the dishes, made suggestions and had us try a special sample of gnocchi with bolognese sauce. The evening was delightful and I hope to return again for this same top flight experience. ------------------- First Review (January 2018) The food was good but not exceptional as some reviews led me to believe. My friend was disappointed her noodles were not al dente. My dish (Nonno) was just fine for me. I recommend it for anyone who loves garlic and spice. I, however, was disappointed by the service, which was frustrating. Our server seemed inexperienced and oblivious. She gave us the lunch menu twice during the dinner service. And didn't own up to her mistake when we told her she had replaced the lunch menu with yet another lunch menu. She made it seem like it was a "ridiculous" mistake of whoever stacks the menus by podium. Why wouldn't she check the menu before giving it to us after the first mistake? She was also quick to run off, and we watched her take orders all around us from people seated later while we tried to flag her down. It was hard to get the staff's attention in general - during an evening that wasn't very busy. There were many empty tables. The acoustics of the space seemed to make our voices inaudible to the staff. I'm still open to coming to Piva again and hopefully will have a better experience with the staff.
Dinner
By far one of the best dinner dining experiences I've had in the Metro Vancouver region! The quality of food was wonderful, great portions and magical flavors. Superb and personable service. Plus the whole aesthetic of the restaurant is brilliant. If you are looking to treat yourself to a special evening out I would not hesitate to visit Piva!
Excellent environment and food is great!
Friendly service, and a really good-looking restaurant. we only went there for a drink on the patio as you were passing by we got a margarita. Really well presented drink but they use a premix so it did not taste very good at all. It was a lot sweeter then I had expected. Would go back to try out the food for sure.
To the co owner: sorry for being rude to you at the end of the night, I didn’t recognize you when you passed by asking if we had any food left.. we definitely took it to go! As for the review: portions were extremely generous, food was amazing. Service was on point and the staff was also very friendly. Great value and atmosphere, me and my boyfriend will definitely be coming back here for our anniversary to celebrate!
We went to this restaurant for the first time this past weekend and the staff and food were just amazing! They were very accommodating to make my food dairy-free when possible and just the right amount of attentiveness from our server. A bit on the pricy side but we enjoyed it!
Terrible service, would not recommend anyone to come here if you’re looking for an easy dining experience.
The waiter was pushing over us to take the order. He was rude. We were 6 six people on the corner in the Left side. We were uncomfortable.
This restaurant has potential but there are still a lot of kinks to work out. Beautiful space, great wine & cocktail list, servers seem friendly enough but ours seemed to lack experience and knowledge. I typically like to order a cocktail before my meal and a glass of wine with my meal, however we didn't receive our first cocktail until half way through our entrees. Food was just okay, a tad salty. Our server told us we couldn't use a Visa gift card as part of the payment - although it seemed like he just couldn't grasp the concept of splitting a payment. He seemed fairly forgetful (what table ordered what, that we were splitting our meals, etc.) I wish they would post a email on their website to give feedback, as I feel a bit bad doing it here, but wanted them to know none the less! Would try again maybe in 6 months - a year.
We’ve been looking for a solid local hangout and PIVA has become our go to. Great food, great service and Chris always makes us feel like VIP’s. From remembering our child’s name to always stopping by to say hello it’s a great experience every time we visit. The food is great, we like the modern twist on classic Italian dishes and we’ve found a few go to dishes that we can always depend on. If you’re looking for business lunch or date night PIVA can fit the bill for either. Gets busy so make a reservation and enjoy!
The catering that we have experienced at our company today was more than expected. Bravo to the entire Piva team for making our event memorable. Normand
First time I came to Piva the experience was wonderful. Food & drinks were amazing, staff was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. The second time I tried to go the front host staff were appalling. They were extremely rude, had horrible attitudes and were uninformative. Needless to say we did not end up eating there that night.
Hostess was very unaccommodating. Unfortunate to see as it’s one of few restaurants left standing in New West. Sadly It won’t continue to last if they’re turning away customers with plenty of open space and room to accommodate.
Very nice place with delicious meals and best pizza ever. They have a great brunch and a very good happy hour.
Decor was lovely. Service was great. The manager came around and was very polite and nice. That being said price point is much too high in terms of food quality. The Beef Carp was delicious and done perfectly. It was also the best thing we tasted there. A few things, we were a table of 4. They didn’t have enough menus for all of us and we were expected to make due with two. They have been open for 3 weeks and already the two paper menus we were given were tattered. We asked for simple substitutions for our pastas and we were told the kitchen does not do them. The white wine sauce was not a white wine sauce. Rather a tomato purée. They did not have any Alfredo or cream sauces on the menu or in the kitchen. The linguine was very salty. The pancetta was the main culprit. The pancetta was also rock hard. It was not an enjoyable dish and hard to finish. The fettuccine was very fishy. Which only means the prawns and the scallops were not fresh or from frozen. That being said they weren’t prawns. They were shrimp. 3 roughly. Which weren’t even properly plated. Instead they were diced up and mixed in as if they were embarrassed to be served. The scallops were not scallops. They were baby scallops. When it came time for an offering of cheese, the server came after we had already started on our pastas and had a plate of cheap powdered Parmesan. She asked if we wanted “fresh” Parmesan. It was obviously not fresh. A good example of modern Italian is real cheese being offered on your pasta at the moment you have it placed in front of you. For 2 drinks, 1 appy, 2 pastas & a 15% tip our bill was a staggering $100. Based on this experience I don’t think we’ll be returning. Again, the service was excellent. However, we went there to eat. The food was just not up to par. It is a new place and hopefully they find their bearings. My best suggestion is hire a new chef!
Dinner
We were a group of 10 people who had dinner at Piva Thursday night. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees. The shared dishes of cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were delicious. The Caprese Salad was fresh and tasty. I ordered the Duck and Fig pizza and enjoyed the simultaneous sweet and savoury flavours. The service was excellent. Our waiter Farhan was quick to bring us water as soon as we sat down and quick to fill our glasses when they were near empty. He was warm and friendly and even made an effort to address us by our first name as we settled the bills. It was an enjoyable dinner!
Really great service. The only reason I left a star off is because I'm not a fan of garlic infused Italian food. We stumbled in by accident and were pleasantly surprised. If that style of food was my thing I'm sure I would have given it 5 stars. The service was second to none.
Food and service were good, but after paying the bill we were immediately ask to leave so that they could have the table for other customers. After spending over $300.00 on a meal to be rushed out and not allowed to spend time talking is the worst possible customer service. Clearly Piva does not care about it's customers, we will not be back.
Amezing restaurant, beautiful location close to the water and the market. The decor is very clean and nice, the menu very interesting and the dishes well presented and very original and testy. I will for sure come back to this place to try they dinner menu
I've been living New West for few years and I've been there few times, the atmosphere and food were awesome. I used to recommend this place to my friend as nice fine dining Italian resto. I really liked this place, but as a delivery driver, it was horrible place like, a waitress refused me to use a washroom, and asked me to wait outside (patio). I don't understand why I was not allowed to use washroom. is it because I'm a skipthedishes driver or I didn't pay money at that time? She had to know a delivery driver could be their customer at the same time. I may want to dine in this place again (but not likely) I would definitely leave 0 tip.
Nice configuration. Good social distancing and observation of COVID-19 protocols. Fettuccine with seafood was outstanding.
Absolutely the most amazing restaurant I've ever been to! Staff was amazing, the atmosphere and decor was amazing and most importantly, the food and drinks were AMAZING. I'm going to post a picture of the best whiskey sour I have ever tasted and I was going to post a picture of my food but it was so good I just could not stop eating it. I had the lamb with gnocchi and fried brussle sprouts and it was all to die for! And extreme compliments to the chef(s) because my husband ordered his steak blue and it was PERFECT. So rich and tender. He said it was the best steak he's ever had. We went to celebrate my birthday and the restaurant provided all four of us with a complimentary glass of Moscato to compliment our desserts. I cannot wait to go here again and I HIGHLY recommend this place. Yes it's a bit pricey but the portions are hearty and the ingredients are high quality and most importantly everything tastes like amazing!
Having recently moved to the area from downtown, my wife and I were looking for a nice restaurant in the area. We decided to check out Piva on Friday. The food was fantastic as well as the wine, nice ambiance as well. I must give huge kudos to our server Alex, she was awesome! Alex was very knowledgeable with the menu and ensured we had a great dining experience. We will definitely be back and we would love to sit in her area.
Excellent place for brunch ;) Best in New Westminster! Having been back a couple of times with friends and family, I wanted to upgrade my review to 5/5 simply because how consistent this place has been. There's literally no place I would rather go for a weekend brunch in Vancouver than Piva. Food quality and portion are both top notch, staff are amazing, the atmosphere is bright and vibrant. Let's all continue to support this wonderful restaurant!
First time at the restaurant for a family dinner. Staff were fantastic, service was quick, and food was great! I went to work today and told my coworkers all about it! Can't wait to come back, trying to get our company to come here for our company Christmas party. Big menu, lots to try. I'd definitely recommend everything that we had, especially the - lobster risotto, mushroom pizza, fettuccine, meatballs, Brussels sprouts, and the desserts! Must get the panna cotta and nonna.
Been to Piva several times and have never had a bad experience. Tonight we went to celebrate my birthday, and it was excellent as usual. Great food, not too loud, and very pleasant staff. Some fool pulled the fire alarm and ran off, but I can’t fault the restaurant for that. Will definitely be back.
Service
High end finishing in decore, good quality produce, cooked well with a good ambiance. Many vegan and vegetarian options. If you want vegan cheese for your pizza, you need to request it ahead of time. I definitely recommend you make reservations. Entrees were delicious. The foccia bread was too dense for my tastes. You pay for the quality of produce. Personally, I thought it was fairly priced for the quality of food. More of a nice date night or celebration meal kind of restaurant than a casual dining location.
We had an excellent server who had top professional skill in his waiting. Food was amazing as expected. Portion sizes large so you don't leave feeling hungry! 10/10 would recommend.
The server was a touch chilly at first, but she warmed up a little more with each successive (delicious) cocktail we ordered. Maybe that was just us. Food was delicious, the ambience was great and the bartender was excellent at accomodating our custom orders. I highly recommend getting the smoked old fashioned but adding a couple drops of cardmom bitters!
This is a local New West gem. I’ve had the pleasure of eating here numerous times I’m ashamed it’s taken this long to write a review. Had the pleasure of trying their brunch menu for the first time and WOW. I’m constantly satisfied with everything I order here, especially the pizza and pasta, and their Negroni Sour. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable with all the COVID 19 protocols in place. You guys are amazing!
Drove from Langley to New West, waiting 15 min in a line up for it to open at 10 no big deal. First people in the line up....10 rolls around and the guy comes out to ask us if we have resos. We said no and he informs us they are all full. I've never heard of a restaurant not leaving any walk in room....or for them to let customers stand outside in a lineup for that long and not inform us there is no room. We walk by 5 minutes later and the place is empty, so I go inside again and ask why we can't be seated if the place is empty. Then he informs us that they only have a seat of 2 for walk in when originally we were told nothing available. The couple behind his left to because we were not informed this. I recommend they work on thier communication and and customer service.
The food and the service are very good, I went on my birthday with a group of friends and we all had great time.
I have eaten here many times and each time the food was full of flavour and the staff were very friendly. The bread you get with your meal is delicious. The restuarant is decorated beautifully. I came in one time for my birthday and I got treated like a king. I definitely recommend.
Friendly staffs, good food.
My wife and I dined at Piva on a Friday evening. We had a reservation for 7 and the restaurant was nearly full. Good service. Interesting menu--just the right amount of choices although perhaps the mains could have been more extensive. Caesar salad had good flavours and the right amount of garlic--croutons felt like they came out of a bag, however. Duck and Lamb entrees had good flavour. BUT--(and here's a big but) mains were really visually unappealing. Grey, beige and black. The sauce on my duck reminded me of used motor oil. And there was a big blob of dark green kale covering 1/3 of the plate. Put a little colour on your dishes! We were pleased to see plenty of Oliver BC wines on the menu since we visited the area during the summer and brought back 20+ bottles. Unfortunately the wine was served too warm (probably 20-23 degrees) Ideally you want red to come out of the bottle at 15-18 celcius. "For Nonna" was an exceptional dessert. Having written all that, it's nice to see an upscale restaurant in New Westminster so locals don't need to drive to Gastown or Yaletown for a decent bite.
Fabulous place! Open design, great menu. The spring special Lobster Risotto was excellent, as was the lemon tart for dessert. Huge wine list, very attentive service.
Amazing food, wine, and dessert. Excellent service and terrific ambiance. Make a reservation so you don't have to wait. Eating at the bar is also a special experience, if get can't get a table.
My wife and I recently visited Piva to celebrate her birthday. We live in New Westminster and were excited to have a new Italian restaurant in our neighborhood. The night didn't stays out as planned as our reserved taket was not ready. We were offered an alternative, but was very close to the kitchen and in a high traffic zone. We chose to wait and the manager brought us some complimentary drinks and her apologies. We were seated within 20 minutes of our reservation. After that it was all smooth and wonderful. Our server, Tony, was excellent and our meals were delicious. I had the lamb and my wife quite enjoyed her gnocchi. I think we'll return soon for another special dinner.
Decided to have our 3rd date at Piva which was the perfect restaurant for a cold January evening. Service was amazing and the interiour design was on point. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially for date nights. The For Nonna dessert was the best way to end dinner. Thanks Subies!!! Ill be coming back soon.
Great restaurant in New West, fresh material for sure, also a good portion of its price
My review based in more than 5 times. In this place. Friendly staff, beautiful people, service is 4.5, food very enjoyable, atmosphere invite you to stay longer. Bring your date, won't be disappointed.
Great atmosphere and good food!
-Great ambience in the restaurant (lights appropriately dimmed, music at an audible but not blaring volume, kitchen sounds slightly in the background, and the theme of the place quite appealing) -Great server (Friendly, knowledgeable of both menu and wines, knew of particulars of our reservation such as the fact we were celebrating an anniversary, attentive to refill water glasses and even fill our wine glasses from our purchased wine when she noticed our glasses were low, came by enough to be helpful but not so much that it was annoying) - Food is good (Came within a reasonable wait, hot, well seasoned, and plated nicely) - Prices vary from mid-teens to around the fifties depending on how premium you want to make your meal. I know some people will complain that the prices are on the higher side but New Westminster has very little in the higher end of dining so this is nice to have. - Only downside? I didn't get the name of our great server so I can request her section the next time I'm there.
Was there twice. Great atmosphere. Good service, decent food. My only real issue is value. Their pricing is a bit on the high side for what you get. But definitely a good choice for New Westminster, in fact, one of the best in that city.
Love this place! Really tasty food, great atmosphere, and wonderful service. I recommend trying out the brunch menu too, it is super tasty!
This is my go to spot! Whether it be brunch, lunch or dinner. The GM is amazing he always makes me feel special. This place is a MUST TRY
We went for brunch on a Saturday. We were seated right away and our server was prompt and attentive. The food is delicious! I had the vegetable fritatta and my SO had the chicken and waffles. Both we very good. The coffee is also great. Our server came to our table exactly when needed without having to look for her and she didn't come and ask us questions every few minutes which is very appreciated. She was great overall, very pleasant. The restaurant is beautiful inside, modern and open. We will be back!
First time here today and really enjoyed the whole experience!!! The appetizers (boar meatballs and arancini) were even better than the mains, so delicious, we were really blown away. Great cocktails. Perfect service- nothing fake and cheesy, just genuine, professional and friendly. Definitely recommending and coming back!
Came for brunch with a group of 4 and was quite impressed. Excellent service, cleanliness, safety protocols were on point, and the food was top-notch. Chicken and waffles, salmon frittata, and West Coast benny were the order of the day and everyone had rave reviews about their meals. Plus the space is absolutely beautiful!
Decent ambiance, reasonable prices, but only mediocre Italian food.
I’m a New West local who was taken to Piva for my birthday. The ambiance was lovely and the service was great until we got up to leave. I had just stepped outside the door to realize that I had left my umbrella (also a birthday gift) wedged near the bottom of my seat. The front of house staff said that I could not go back into to retrieve it (we had just stepped out the door). I told them I knew exactly where it was but I was sent away with the manger’s card (and without my birthday gift). Everything was handled calmly on both sides but I definitely didn’t feel welcome at Piva anymore. After a month my boyfriend finally went back and retrieved the umbrella for me (I just didn’t feel comfortable going in). It’s too bad because had not been rainy that day, it would have been a nice birthday experience.
Ordered 2 take out pizza kits (fig and duck and modern Italian) ... used the Ooni Koda 16 pizza oven..... all the ingredients were in small containers ... easy to assemble! the fig and duck pizza was sooo good! Will definitely order that again!
Great food, location, service and atmosphere! Would go back again!
Space is beautiful. Contemporary, open and bright. Service was alright. Not very genuine but polite enough. Food, however, was the most disappointing part. We ordered two bennies, the salmon and the crab. Crab was acceptable but salmon was really below average. The brussel sprouts were not bad. The worst was the chocolate cake. It was unreasonably sweet, and I typically love sweets. Maybe we ordered the wrong items?
My girlfriends and I were so excited to try this place. Unfortunately that was short lived. Our server was very impatient, short, and didn’t really know much customer service. Older bald gentlemen named IAN. The management and host were super nice hence the 2 stars. We only got to try few appetizers before walking out and they were terrible that’s why we decided to go elsewhere. Fig pizza was like eating bread and jam it had zero trace of Asiago and crab cake was blah and they forgot to bring one of our appys.
Absolutely my go-to spot for Italian food. Beautifully decorated great with ambience, wonderful staff, and an amazing wine list. Head chef Subee, even came out to greet us personally and asked us how our meal was. These types of personal touches really elevated the dining experience for me and my friends. I love this place and would definitely recommend trying out some of my favourites like the pasta 'for nonna', the wood-fired pizza, mushroom risotto and my personal fave, The wild boar meatballs. They are out of this world good!
A nice new addition to New Westminster. Really good Italian food with great vibe and customer service. The Mushroom pizza, ribeye and 'for nonno' were the stand out dishes for me. All in all a great new place!
An amazing restaurant with 5 star service and 6 star food. The moment we walked through the door, we were warmly welcomed and treated like family. Chris, the floor manager was so attentive ensuring that our evening was perfect. I ordered the lingcod and it was amazing. The pricing was very reasonable and one must try the happy hour specials. This place will surely be on my go to list.
The delicious food made with care and service unbelievable. They are going above instead of other 5 star restaurants that do business despite themselves.
Service was great. I ordered some pasta and it was very spicy. The waiter offer to change the dish without spicy and it was very good . They did not charge for it. We had a good time and enjoyed our dinner.
Great food and great service I had the crab cakes, the duck and tiramisu. Crab cakes were okay. I enjoyed the duck entree and the tiramisu was adventurous because it comes in a Mason jar. I also liked that it is not too sweet. Our server was awesome. She was very attentive, especially with our toddler. As a mom out to have a meal to celebrate mother's day, it was wonderful.
excellent food. the crab pasta was light and amazing while the truffle mushroom pizza was exploding with flavor.
Great service with a wonderful ambience. Came in for brunch, stayed for the Raspberry Mimosas.
I would give 6 stars if I could. We had a flawless visit, handled expertly by our server, Ian. He noted all and any concerns we had, and even gave us recommendations on other vegetarian and vegan restaurants. The food was amazing, and we will certainly be returning. Bravo, Piva. Bravo.
The food is tasty and I was impressed with the portion sizes and the amount of seafood in my seafood pasta. The reason I'm only giving three stars is the service. Our server, a grey-haired man with a moustache, was curt and unfriendly and frequently left us waiting, though the restaurant was not particularly busy. When he did come to the table, he mostly spoke only one or two words to us. My partner and I were left wondering what we'd done to merit such frosty treatment. We wondered if it was our casual dress (we were both in jeans, him in a t-shirt and me in a knit sweater), but after checking the website again I don't see any indication of a dress code. Having just moved into the neighbourhood, we might have been regulars, but if the service is so unfriendly as to make us feel like we're not welcome, I think we'd rather explore the other options.
Amazing wines by the glass, probably best BC wine selection anywhere. Great service and convenient location near Skytrain station. Menu was delightful, will be back soon!
Went here with a few friends and left very satisfied. Amazing food and the deserts were incredible to say the least. We will be going back to try more from the menu. Nice to have a new restaurant in the area that actually seems to have a lot to offer.
Outstanding in every way. Chris, the manager (perhaps owner) of the restaurant accepted a request to host an 18 person wedding party only 24 hours before the wedding. Not only did he have the restaurant rearranged completely to accommodate us, the service was truly impeccable. The servers were amazing, the food was truly impressive, and Chris checked on us a number of times to ensure everything was exactly as planned. He even went out of his way to discuss where the food and coffee was sourced from, details on the wine, and tool an interest in all of us. If you want a truly personal and special experience, this is the restaurant to dine at.
Nice Italian restaurant in new west! Restaurant is modern and clean. Foods and services are good! Look to go there !
Never felt so rushed and disrespected at a restaurant before. One older waiter: 1. almost forced us to order appetizers/salads on top of our main dishes. 2. constantly checked if we're finished our food, trying to take it away. 3. didn't even ask if we wanted additional bread. 4. immediately after we declined desert he gave us the bill and machine. Overall, the restaurant was quality. However this waiter needs to be properly disciplined as there's no way people will come back if he's still treating customers the way he did today.
Went here for dinner on my birthday couple of months ago. Service was very courteous and professional. Our two kids were with us and the manager was very apologetic as he felt the food took longer then it should have. We expected to wait a while so weren’t too bothered but really appreciated how attentive they were in ensuring we had a positive experience. We will definitely be back ????
We had brunch here with a large party with kids. The menu was amazing and the food and service were too quality. Special thanks to Chris for making the reservation process so efficient and easy, and a very special thanks to Zack who's service was amazing definitely made our experience super special. Cheers!
Grateful for my Italian odyssey experienced last night at Piva Modern Italian. From sips of Canada's first 100 point wine to mouthwatering duck and fig perfection Pizza through family style velvety Rigatoni and The Best Hen in the city. I felt the embrace of kindness and old world charm of my fondest memories of Italy resurface as Chris and Chris choregraphed a culinary experience that provided a European holiday here on the coast.
